Somehow cathartic. I was worried that it would be hard to find the last dwarf, but it was not a problem :joy:

Cute art, funny idea.

cammyrnn 2025-04-10 03:23

Yeah those little bastards never even saw me coming. Stage cleared.

I couldn't figure out what 'space' did

eeldam 2025-04-12 18:38

Nice theme! I couldn't figure out what the space bar was supposed to do, and I eventually gave up finding all the dwarves. Maybe some sort of direction indicator or something to help track them down would be good? It also seemed like the dwarves moved randomly, it might be more fun if they actively tried to avoid you more. Good work!

Neat idea, though not much to it. The deeps are not cleansed. Space didn't seem to do anything (other than start the game). I assumed at first the dwarves were running from you as they are not obviously on fire when they start moving fast.

notnasiul 2025-04-12 18:49

I understand it's some kind of Snake game where you have to trap dwarves within your tail (flames)? That's how I played, but those damned dwarves are so fast! :D

Ok that was pretty satisfying! Extremely simple, but there's a pleasure in hunting down little guys and lighting them on fire. I love how they run around when they start burning.

Finally some peace and quiet! Fun twist on what you'd usually expect about a game in the depths about dwarves. Like most people, Space didn't seem to work for me, but I still managed to make short work of all of them

Poor dwarves

platonenko 2025-04-13 16:16

cool idea but it's not entirely clear what the game itself is, do I just need to run over the dwarfs?

eyedromeda 2025-04-13 18:46

Simple but cool concept. The fire graphics were very nice, and it was surprisingly fun watching the dwarves darting around. I do wish the camera was zoomed out a little more, so it'd be easier to locate all the dwarves. Good work!

dovodx 2025-04-13 18:59

I noticed the player moves faster diagonally than in cardinal directions.

eugenik 2025-04-14 03:10

Love the graphic, nice work!.

The pixel art is lovely - the fire effects in particular are great - I also really like the sort of dwarf head blocks / decorations dotted around the place. I think I would have liked to have been a bit more restricted with how I could attack the dwarves - maybe having to catch them in the fire trail rather than being able to just walk into them? Doesn't really need it though, enough fun to be had exploring the map and tracking the last few dwarves down!

ronalchue 2025-04-15 12:17

An interesting move in the fight against the dwarves. Unfortunately, the space is rather empty and there is no dynamics. People are burned alive too cruelly

johneyd 2025-04-15 19:07

That was fun! But a little violent. But fun!)

ellaris 2025-04-17 15:42

Cool, it wasn't immediately obvious when the dwarves were burning, maybe a slightly different sprite or at least coloration would help, it was pretty fun to watch them run around and spread fire once I understood I don't have to chase them. I would also add a nearest dwarf indicator if there is only a few dwarves left, or if the player hasn't ignited any dwarves in like the last 20 seconds or so as it wasn't the most fun to search the empty halls for them.

Nice entry! I tried using space, but it didn't seem to do anything. Good think the trail for fire worked. I agree with others that is was hard to know if the dwarfs were just running away or on fire.
