Awesome concept! Carcassone and Tower Defense. GREAT!

Awesome concept! Carcassone and Tower Defense. GREAT!
So cute! I love this take on stealth :D
Great game! Reminds me of The Secret of Bryce Manor (iOS). Well done : )
First time I see a cat breathing fire :D Haha! It was fun. But the dragon's movement reminded me of Alley Cat, an old CGA game :' ) Well done!
Nice idea! Tile based movement was unexpected, but fits nicely in the game.
Oh, THANK YOU, arhpositive!!! I had no idea that was the reason why I had to reinstall Unity. Done!
And thank you all for your comments X)
Someone recommended me playing the game while listening to THIS: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8VUGVX9jbA It's just awesome XDD
So original!! Great game, well done!
Frankestein is a weakling XDD
Nice abstract game :D I like the idea of the FPS-hacking action, although shooting was a bit demanding! So many clickclikclik! :D
For those experiencing problems with unity, remove the s from https in the url. Kiyaku, you may remove it from the link too.
So polished! Awesome work for 48h. This could easily be extended into a full game adding a few extra features! It get a bit tedious running from corner to corner, but the idea is fun : )
Nice game! I used to play Galcon a lot, but I like how you have to conquer 'territories' in your game. Final nodes are safer than heavily connected nodes, for instance.
It would benefit a lof from a zooming button, and... was your photograph really required in the main screen? XDDD Well done! Note: there's a space-strategy game I've been thinking about for a while quite similar to yours, with wormholes shaping a graph... I should give it a try ;D
I love those pen-drawn sprites X)
Great game. I find it awesome having time during LD48 for not only creating a game... but also a compeling story!! Well done!
So original! I couldn't beat it, but I like the idea :D
Em... I don't like the story at all. That is: mine or no one's... phew... there are already way too many suckers in this world to make a game about it. It's polished, it's curious, but I'm glad I failed. We all deserve to fail on this game! :P (unless the ending is totally unexpected, that is)
Nice idea, reminds me of Grand Theft Auto (I wonder if there are more GTA like games in the compo...) But reducing collision boxes would make it more fun, probably! Cops catch you when they seem to be still not touching you! :D
Haha! This game could have been played on an old arcade machine, I love it! Well done!
Excellent idea! With enough minigames this could evolve into a full fledged game easily!
Em... what? I chopped the tree and could do anything else. But I found that fun XD
Well done! Slow but it makes sense in its context. Note: I had to download the game because the web version does not allow you to click the right button! ; )
That's what I call an Angry Bird! :D And that's the fox with more inertia in the world.
Upgrades were nice, although using mouse to choose them was a bit awkard (1-2-3 keys instead, maybe) And what about enemy AI? :D
I suck at this kind of games, but I do appreciate what you've done here. May I ask how do you design levels? I would love learning more about it!
He, I managed to set a city in chaos, then I got stuck in the mountains. Which is right, we all now that Cthulhu came fro the depths of the ocean X)
Impressive quality. I just find amazing how such game could be created in 48h. I truly need to learn how to do the things you do!! :D
What a pity I couldn't control my swarm with WASP. Ha. Ha. Fun game and weird parties out there... MMF, MFM, FFM, FMFMFMFMF... :D
I never thought I would play a stealth game controlling a goat. The game is nice, but hunters don't seem to follow your track (do they?), so I just had to attack them in plain sight, unless many of them got together, that is. Well done! :D
I'm quite impressed by all the online games that have been submitted to LD48. How do you manage to keep decent servers up? Anyway, nice game, great graphics and awesome concept: online persistent world that all players modify. Great!
Stupid villagers!! KILL THEM ALL!! Nice little game :D
I'm not really sure what's happening... It seems the white orbs just walk around. Anyway, the whole thing looks great and I'm sure It's either a silly bug or me missing something : )
Great pixel art and 8bit sound, but not much gameplay in there! Would have been fun controlling Santa to avoid something, maybe :D But very polished!
Because, you know, that's what robots do XDD
Nice adaptation of a classic mechanic! : )
What a weird game :D I'm not sure why it's online. I mean, do we work collaboratively to plunder the town? I should have a look at node.js someday.
Nice! It was difficult getting used to controls - so many keys for such a small game, and hitting orbs with your tail requieres a bit of training. Well done!
Absolutely great entry. There's something inherently attractive in these 'dig terrain' games :D
I like the idea! But doesn't it always reduce to... build a piramid (if you are able to with available pieces, that is)? :D
I still wonder what kind of big creature I am :D
Great, well done! Although this kind of timed puzzles break my nerves (I feel I can't control them), being able to design those puzzles is quite amazing.
Sorry for those who were told to reinstall. It's because the s in https in the url! I've just removed it.
Mesmerizing. I ended up falling into a room with no exit (or none I could found, no matter how many torches I threw), but the experience was great.
I killed everyone but two scouts. Don't know what to do with the bee hive! This entry is great, congratulations. How did you come up with the idea?
Would have been cooler with physics, quite for sure. You said you had problems, but tweaking drag and forces you should be able to get tight controls for that pirate submarine. ARRR! Mmmm... a game with pirate submarines... Not UFO-like, but wooden submarines and parrots... mmm
Good job! You should explore this idea a bit more, as in trying to break the ice or something in order to survive.
Great game! It was not always clear to me which direction rats would follow, but I had fun eating people nevertheless :)
Great game. I was patient enough to eat it all. Superb ending : )
Agree with comments above. Screen is a bit cluttered and there's not much room to avoid creatures. Maybe adding some 'up-down' movement (plus current 'left-right'). Well done, anyway :)
Great, great game. I wish I had had this idea :D I love it, well done!
Detocroix:, it's the score :m It should go up when jellies mate! (It does in my browser!) :m There's a bug, it should increase in 100s, but it works...
Seraphina: I didn't try the windows or mac version. I hoped it would work out of the box :(
Graf_Grun: you are right! I think I designed control with a touch interface in mind :)
Thanks for playing, in any case : )
Just fixed the win version ;D
But you did, right? I feared the play button would be too plain X(
Spotline: no, they should move! Sometimes the Unity plugin does weird things :m Try reloading please! :D A
Exactly what garygreen said. It's a cool idea, and a bit of interactivity or multiple paths would be great. You should explore that option : )
Quite an original game for a shooter! Well done :D
:') Seriously, since my daughter was born eight months ago I knew I will do something like this someday. If she wants, that's it. I'm sure you both had lots of fun this weekend.
I hate that surfer, I want to play just with the dolphin, it's great how it moves, dives and jumps!
This entry is disturbing in so many ways 8( Poor boy! Well done!!
Nice endless runner! A bit too difficult, maybe, but then it may be me :D
Wonderful! I thought the planet would rotate XD Nice game : )
Nice! Simple and direct. Some animations would improve how it looks, but those are a beast on their own.
So stressing if you build just a second drill! But it's a nice concept, I think you could improve this into a full fledged game. It reminds me of Mr. Driller. Sort of.
Quite quiet for a war, isn't it? :D I found the 'enemy' (is he) but he wasn't moving :m
I think you didn't link the web version properly, because you get a download link instead of the online version :m Is that so?
Cool concept, but aiming is so difficult! I could certainly imagine some kind of final boss raising from the depths :D
I wonder what would Paul Atreides feel playing this one : ) I like the game, but the camera makes me a bit sick! Well done. For the game, not the camera XD
Nice mix of platforms and puzzles. But I got killed in the fourth room and... I had to start it all over again! NOOOO! :D
A bit dark, I couldn't see things clearly sometimes. But awesome work!
Reminds me of the first Alone in the Dark :D Monsters being you-in-green is some kind of allegory? : )
Brilliant. Simply brilliant.
It's pretty difficult to understand what I'm watching in the x-rays! Items are too small, I fear :D Oh, and some keyboard controls would be awesome to react faster ;D But well done!
Impressive, simply impressive. I found mouse aiming a bit awkward, but the game is still impressive.
Lol. I felt like looking for my car's keys with someone following me around until I found out that those triangles in the side of the playing area are a hint to the location of the seashells. Well done!
Great idea, but difficult as hell!! I am seldom able to destroy a spaceship with the moon, then things get hectic! XD Awesome.
Woho, the fourth one get pretty difficult! :D Nice : )
Awesome idea! So claustrophobic :D Those creatures are unnerving X) It would be nice being allowed to scare or lure them away, instead of just waiting for them to swim away. But great game. Oh, and a radar that tells you the exact distance to your goal is not that crappy ;D
Complex usage of Puzzlescript, with that almost real-time action :D Well done.
As always, you nailed it : )
oh_cripes: Have you tried ducking? : ) Pressing the down arrow when not standing on a platform makes your character duck! That's the only way to avoid those rocks, and that passage was created to force you to discover that :D
mrexessive: yep, lots of death. Some cross between Knytt and VVVVVVV here. It would be too short otherwise! But all traps are avoidable ;D In relation to movement relative to player, could be. I think it's the animation what confuses you: the character should crawl when climbing, not walk, maybe...
Thanks for playing!
Pete_H, have you tried downloading it? I also feel the web version a bit laggy, sometimes :(
I should fix that lava jump, it's way too difficult X(
Agree with BoxedMeatRevolution: when adding a 'cutscene', let the player skip it! Time ran out on my first maze and... I didn't really felt like trying again (I did, but requires patience!) ;D Well done, though! :D
You probably spent lots of time on those sprites! Next time save a bit for more game! Great work!
Great idea! Although it would be great if the guy jumped a a bit faster, or being able to pick blocks when you are wall sliding, just for sake of being more agile!
Nice! I also created a platformer in Unity for this LD. Funny how the same engine can create so many differnet feels.
Agree with Azlen, bombs take a lot to explode and it's difficult keeping alive, but it's a nice one-player bomberman clone :D
I did HATE and LOVE these handhelds, you've just thrown me back in time :')
Apart from me being a pinguin who can't swim (yeah, ok, there are creatures who may eat me, but damn, I CAN swim!) I found platform physics a bit weird. When trying to jump from a moving platform you seem to add your x velocity to the platform's, so if you jump right when it moves left... you don't. And... WHO IS OPENING THE ROOM'S DOOR? IT SCARED ME!! 8(
You could have called this !Pong :D Great concept! You should explore it a bit further!
Great idea! At first I moved my ship around by firing water XDDD Then I found out I could also thrust. I love how firing water kicks the ship back, forcing you to counter it. Well done!
I didn't do most of the things that poor guy is forced to do and I managed to complete my entry :P Nice idea :D You'll get further nex time ^_^
I'm not a fan of TD games, but you certainly did well : )
So touching! A very nice experience, well done :')
Basic gameplay but properly implemented, well done! : )
What a weird idea! But I like it a lot, except for being forced to wait (sometimes a lot) for an opening ot a path to go on. Well done!
Well, you know what they say... it's like puting a forest fire off with a fire extinguisher! No? Maybe they shold. Could idea, but I would love to have the actual tools to fight that fire!
That's it, this game wins, it's the best thing I've seen in a while in oh so many senses. PERFECT!
Had some weird problems with the controls, like sometimes I pressed and felt some lag? But it was playable and perfectly fun!
You seem to have learned a lot since that first game! The time-loop thing was weird at first: "well Mr. Time Traveller, you could get your hearts back too" Then I thought that given it's you traveling in time, it makes sense. But then why bullets reappear? Then I stopped caring and tried to get a highscore. Sixty something! I closed the window too fast ':D
Oooh! Warning Forever vibes! Nicely done, indeed! Got to round 9 before dying :) I'm really curious about Godot! At some point I'll seriously try it for small games instead of using Pico8.
Loved it! The cave system looks great and particles work perfect. Adding those little people to save was a great touch to the underlying particle simulator! Well done!
I'm blushing! Thank you a lot for playing!!
Damn, I just realized I inscribed the game for the jam instead of the 48h compo. Silly me...
@superpokeunicorn You can JUMP by pressing UP! ;D
I had plans for a background but totally FORGOT to add it. I'll probably add a new version when the voting ends.
Thanks a lot for the nice comment! <3
@ayosetrujillo Lol, I see what you did there ;D
@augustcoder What do you mean "the way pico8 html5 page works" being related to being hard to move without jumping? Maybe there's a bug? I can walk around just fine - unless next column is a bit higher than your eye level or so, in that case you must jump. But most of the time you'll jump, anyway... Thanks for playing!
Oh, if you made a highscore it's stored and saved, so it's probably still there :)
@augustcoder Ah yes, on mobile it's always difficult to play with a D-Pad, I fear. It's playable but more difficult to control O:) Thanks for playing!
@castitatis Try not to fall into water? :D Use jumping wisely and try to grab&throw fires away first of all! That's prioritary. I get around 1000 points almost every time :)
@extar Watched it this morning (I'm playmedusa on twitter, right, I should fix that here! Notnasiul is my personal account in Spanish) :D Thanks for playing and sharing!
Thank you all new players for trying the game!
@cerno-b There's a bug in the highscore thing for some reason!! I'll upload a fix once the voting ends, and tweak some details. Thanks for playing! The game over screen already says it, but I wanted to thank all of you again ^-^
I loved the Urchin Merchand and his dealer ways. Psst, Kid!
You should expand this game with particles, sound and improved balance, it can become something big!
115 zombies! I just standed in the middle with SPACE pressed and turning left/right to face enemies.
It's The Settlers meet Attack on Titan!! I LOVED the Settlers, the original one, which had a road mechanic quite similar to yours. Impressive work for a jam!
Lol, I joked with some friends about making an RTS during the jam and they said it was impossible. Well, I'm showing them... your game. Impressive! :)
Once you get the idea it's quite fun trying to figure out who is cursed! Is this based on an existing game? It's quite original otherwise!
It's like WarioWare with cosmic horrors! So cool!
At some point I stopped throwing baggetes and I eat them instead... fun indeed, follow pico8 developer!
Well, it's indeed a Tron and multiplayer. I was curious and had a look at the code (I'm considering Godot these days) and it's simple enough to grasp.
You could certainly expand it if you wanted! It works nicely :)
This is the game one expects to find in a game jam! Simple, fun, short and indeed polished. Very well done!
I must say that the last TD I played was Ninja Town on the DS, so it's been a while. But it's easy to grasp and makes you wonder how long you will last (about three minutes and a half...) Nice!
Isn't pico8 lovely for game jams? Nice work!
Quite an original idea, follow pico8 developer! :D
Damn, I died with a 5% chance!! Reasons for imprisonment are hilarious. Unsettling and intriguing at the same time!
Lovely take on the theme! :D Such a happy cat animation. I feel bad for Dave, but not that much ;D
Had a very similar idea! In my notes I have something "Why do we delay the inevitable (going back home)? Because we are having fun and we don't want to stop" I thought of kids having fun in the street or something similar. Nice to see where you took it!
You must be aiming at making mobile games, aren't you? Maybe you should :D Well done! You can't control the direction of the er... creature, right? Unlike games like Arkanoid where the position where it hits the... pan changes the movement direction? It tried for a while but didn't figure out if I could, I guess I can't :D
40 seconds! Nice :D
Cool idea! You should take more time to develop it further!
It's like a first time jammer's Superhot! Well done! :D
Tip: in itchio you can set the resolution of your game, try increasing it so people can see further away without making it full screen!
Very cool that auto-lock-on feature! At first I thought I needed to cycle enemies with a button but then I didn't miss it at all.
Thank you all!
@mbrezu It does start easy - no critters! :D Then they start coming once you gather diamonds ;)
But yes, the idea was jumping right into the game, die, rinse, repeat. Thanks for playing!
@bloodbane No, it just warns you with some fire on your feet when you are burning. But if you don't jump/walk away fast you die quickly!
@exilegl I also thought that some progression would have been nice (+some other mechanics like new creatures, weight slowing you down, jumping on enemies...). Maybe in a future version.
Thanks for playing! @majadroid @chromaphase you should definitely try pico8! You can even try the educationa web version before considering buying it - if you don't own it already, it's been featured in a few bundles recently. https://www.pico-8-edu.com/
I use Unity in my daily job, but I love pico8 for gamejams. Maybe at some point I'll use Godot, who knows, but I feel right at home with pico8 for small, arcade games. And those are great for 48h game jams :D
@krasimir-balchev That's indeed a good idea! I also toyed with diamonds slowing you down, but that made the game really difficult. But that multiplier sounds good!
Thanks for playing!
@yoko-san Tecton Inc. is not responsible for miners walking outside the designated mining area. You are, of course, free to do so. Please note that chances of survival will be extremely low. Have a happy mining day!
Not even using the jetpack, @martynas? I've never found myself in that position unless my jetpack was depleted.
@rateddfordegenerate thanks! The only way of dealing with the critters is by using the jetpack when they are nearby, which scares them away!
I might take this idea and expand it a little bit some day. A local multilayer game with thos base could be fun!
I found it really difficult to find a strategy with changing conditions, my creatures were always smashed by enemies :'( But I tried!
Well done!
This could easily be turnet into a whole game! Maybe a food-truck owner that specialices in pancakes? Nice!
Well, it's a flower 10SecondPainting.png
I love how it captures and downloads the image you drew. This could be a fun speed-up version of pictionary!
What a bunch of adorable silly ideas :D
Cool! Has a bit of cinematic drama :D
Cool idea! I'm not sure if spamming the attack button was the intended way of playing, given that it's a slowmotion samurai, but I found it made it easier to play! Otherwise I found it difficult to make it properly so the sword hit the target at the right time. On the other hand, that felt like playing a game of golf!! Which was quite cool (but I ended up dead because of enemies shooting!)
Lovely! Wouldn't mind playing this on my mobile in the future.
Nice game! It reminded me of the hours I spent in Privateer buying and selling goods among the stars.
It would be nice to see next to your cargo the price at which you bought it!
I love this kind of arcade tennnis games. Maybe a full game would need some kind of dash/jump to reach difficult balls, volleys and such, but as a jam game it's pretty solid! Nice.
So sweet! It encourages me to finish a music-based idea I've had way too much time as a rough prototype. Thanks!
If I could play using only keyboard, being shooting automatic or somehow keyboard controlled, it would be a bit less frustrating! But I had fun, cool idea, and the shop makes the difference! :D
I find the concept amazing! It's a bit difficult to control where the ball will go, but it's part of the fun. Well done!
I have to try making a match-x game some day! I like how you introduced new neighbouring rules related to jewel shapes. Nice!
Pretty clever design!
Controls were a bit funky, but maybe it happens on Firefox only? It took a while for the character to move after pressing a key, which made playing a bit difficult given you are seconds away from the lava tongue! But I could play for a while and it was fun X)
If definitely couldn't manage to land a single hit, but trying to survive was fun. This could be turned into a local coop multiplayer!
Either I'm doing something wrong or those rabbits are smarter than me! Must try again... Great idea, nicely implemented!
Beautiful, charming, perfect mood, so wholesome! Great game, well done!
Nice twist on a memory game!
No, making games is not easier, but this entry is a superb take on logic games! Niiiiice!
Haha! I didn't expect a turn-based game here! It has some nice classic roguelike vibes - you could certainly expand this a bit :D I think there's a bug somewhere because at some point I couldn't deliver my last nut (9/10) and fighting with my new sword didn't harm creatures anymore! Well done ;)
Thanks everyone that has played so far! Reading your comments I should have added a secondary scoring system that tracked RUNOVERS :D
Such tight controls! And an awesome level design. Had to quit in the third level for now but I'll be back for more!!
I had problems finding deliverables, maybe a minimap or something would have helped? I loved the water effect!
I'm employee of the month! Where is the reception desk? I want my voucher. Vogshphere beaches are delightful this time of year :D
Nice game! I enjoyed the clever use of the 'tractor beam'(?) to move boxes through walls. Nice game!
What a nostalgia trip! Wonderful game, well done! :D
I like the ikaruga-color switch mechanic :D
Weird mix of grid-movement and real-time things, in a nice way! Wonder if it would also work being completely turn-based, though! Nice graphics too. (Do put the link in the description, btw!)
Deceptively simple! I ended up running for so long that now I look at surfaces and see things moving xDD
Moving both you and your rival in a somewhat parallel space was weird at first (two characters, same map, but you watch them at the same time?), but once I got it, it ended up being a nice puzzle game. The arcade race at the end is a game by itself! Funny you didn't make a whole game out of it, but it's an original turn of events :D
Lovely beat'm'up! Short and sweet, nicely implemented. I love those sticker-like graphics!
Reminds me of peggle, but I just was unable to deliver green boxes :D
Yea ok... not the best example for kids, but the game itself is cool. I guess winners don't do drugs, but animals can do whatever they want? :D
I was not expecting such an involving combat system! Combined with lighting it makes for a quite nice game. Well done!
Masterpiece!! One of the most interesting games I've found in this edition. I love how it throws you in there without holding your hand and expects you to figure out. UI and inventory control feels a bit hellish (I usually dropped the thing I wanted to use, which being the laser gun was not fun with the ooze in front of you) but one gets better. Still, incredible entry, very well done!
Ok, I had to set it to unlimited time, and then I started having fun, because it was indeed stressing! :D I only got to turn 5. Maybe I'm not a good penguin parent...
Good idea, @johnnysix. Yes, I'll tweak a few things, like @sbeif proposes - increasing difficulty is one of them, but I'll consider the jump angle too. Thing is, you may want to launch the lily pad in a certain direction (originally there was a hole to put lily pads in!). I'll consider that option!
@octahedron I think it was Pocket Frogs? You could collect tons of them, right?
@laserpanzerwal Thanks a lot your feedback! I'm planning a post-jam version to fix difficulty progression and maybe show the jump aim line all the time (although I like watching the scene without it!)
Thank you a lot for playing :)
I'm not a huge fan of TD (except for Ninja Town, I loved that one) but I see the potential in your idea! Keep in mind that a first person TD will require tons of work in UI and QoL, as you need a lot of information to figure out what to do. A minimap, for instance, and quite a few on-screen indicators to tell you what is happening. Still, nice entry for a game jam!
Mind-blowing! You better print it on paper to annotate options! I love when you are sure about a number and meeec it's not, and you start debugging your reasoning to figure out why.
Work a bit on those controls, add some more variety - maybe exploding bushes that give you time to run away, or poisonous clouds and such, and you will have a curious game at hand! Well done!
You are up unto something here! Didn't figure out if I could indeed kill people - you lose when they all die, right? but they have food and shelter and don't! Maybe I didn't play for a long time? Anyway, nice game!
I like the idea a lot, and it can be a really fun way of learning about feng sui, if you enjoy those things, but it was SOOO DIFFICULT TO CONTROL! Isometric controls always confuse me (pressing up makes it go up-left or up-right?), it's just something in my brain. Plus, forniture falled too fast to try, and the rotating room didn't help at all.
Also, I didn't get how you score! I like my rooms, but I guess I'm not following feng sui laws : D
Would be nice playing a more polished version! Well done in any case!
What a ton of absurdity. Fantastic!! :D I new that "Noah" guy was sketchy.
Oook, I'm not repeating the whole level, sorry! :D But platforming is decently solid, graphics are great and the gravity-inversion mechanic is cool! I wish there were control points mid-level, but I understand it's not that kind of games, and levels are small with that in mind, right? Well done!
Yeah, ok, that doorbell effect made me stand up and head for the door and I felt stupid.
Maybe it would be nice to know in advance the likes and dislikes of people, so you can plan in advance? Also, at some point I placed a guy, then the apartment, and then the character was behind the apartment so you woudln't see it :id:
Nice entry!
Brutal OST! Game is not original but those mobs are glorious. Well done!
Nice floodfill algorithm and twist on the Sokoban puzzle :) Well done, fellow Pico8 developer :D
There's a big slope in the first level that I just can't get through. No matter how I click I can't jump that high! Sounds like a fun idea, but can't figure it out, sorry :'(
@danyvk Oooh, clicking mid-air did the trick. Still, getting the right direction is hellish :D I'm trying again. Maybe a time-slowdown when the cursor is within Dice's reach would make it easier to play! But then maybe that's not your idea... ;)
It's been said already: timer makes it so dificult!! But it's a cool puzzle, you should keep working on it. If you remove timer you could add many other cells like portals or things that eat the laser or who knows. With players having time to figure it out the options are a lot!
That said, the game as is, with timer, is just a different kind of game and not a bad one at all! Nice!
Graphics are cartoon-network level! Sound didn't work (Firefox, windows), but got the idea ;)
Nice! I only lasted 20 years, though. I love its minimalistic style, and reminds me of Reigns in terms of balancing the three resources. Well done!
Wait, I just got mugged by the NARRATOR? And then some people were being assaulted by bandits and I helped them. The people, not the bandits. Laughed a lot :D
An old friend of mine had a game like this with pirates in his programmable calculator, something like 30 years ago. You had your pirate ship, your crew, and like yours you just choosed what to do and odds did their thing. Then you had to maintain your ship and hire new crew and keep an eye on resources.
Fun entry!
Sumo meets Battle Royale :D I think I was able to spam pushing and then running and tackling, but just because I was playing against AI. I'm sure this is fun as hell playing with people!
Cool idea! Could be extended into a party game if you add more players! Well done!
oook... this one was weird, but I think it has tons of potential! Chess pieces altering the nature of the board itself sounds compelling!
Not sure if the 'past blocking you' is some kind of allegory, but it certainly makes for pretty interesting puzzles!! Well done!
Beautiful puzzle! I'm stuck in level 11, but I'll get through!
So intriguing! It's a bit of trial and error at first, but then you get used to your powers :D
Great art! I found those first stone puzzles unnecesary, someone already mentioned that. Why not making them a bit more involving? There's no way to fail, right? :D I guess you had a few more ideas in mind for fights that didn't get into the final game. But it looks amazing, you could certainly keep working on it!
Simple but effective! Every missed shot felt worse than letting a creature touch you! I thought the defensive aura would allow you to push walls outwards, but nope... I lasted 63 seconds. Nice game!
My potato computer was not too happy, but I managed to play for a bit and it seemed fun! Laughed a lot when the cat touched a cucumber. But a less-unreal version would be nice for us mortals ;) Nice!
Nice! Maybe smoother wall movement would have been even nicer? Anyways, well done!
Lovely! I was trying to figure out how to play, I couldn't make sense! Why up? Why not left? Then it all clicked and spent much more than expected playing :D Well done!
It was fun until a crate spawned in front of the stars and couldn't leave the room! :D Funny :)
Nice twist on the sokoban genre!
Cool concept! I hope you keep working on it!
Great art style, sound and music! I found it very difficult to avoid obstacles at first because of their curved trajectories, but you get used to it. Until you don't and die. Or travel to a new galaxy, who knows! Nice entry.
30 out of 40 creatures! Nice idea, I almost made one about a hotel that had quite similar rules! Things like 'wants a room facing West' or 'doesn't want neighbours on its sides' and such. Yours was a great implentation! Also, really good music! Nice entry.
I'm quite sure there's a game in there. You can move with WASD, grab things with Z and seems you can interact with locations with X. And place finished things in slots 1,2,3... but all this is guessing. Interactions didn't work? There was a bar that never got to increase...
Would love to see where this is heading to! :D
I find the character design extremely charming!! The mix of super crate box and top down dual stick is fun, but maybe the pace was a tad slow? I had fun, anyways! :D
@aliflaliq How does it get stuck? I've not encountered that problem! :'(
@missingpixel Ah yes, that can happen. You can still move, but if you are totally surrounded it might be a problem?
Thanks for playing!
@lereveur Yes, that might happen, it's something I couldn't fix before deadline :'(
Think of it as free point XD
Thanks for playing!
@tristan-doell You can PULL objects by pressing Z!! :D
Why couldn't you move them, @vivid-hallucination? You know you can pull boxes too, right? With Z :D
Lol, it's my fault, @vivid-hallucination. I guess on the first level with only the pentagram and the candle I should place the candle on a corner, and an on-screen message telling players they can push and pull things around :(
@lintfordpickle Thanks! Nope, music was not mine, but I liked it a lot too. And yes, it's procedural, I'm already figuring out how I could expand the game. I would new kind of ground tiles - maybe solid obstacles I can't move, obstacles that move by themselves (imps)... and animations, I would like to add some :)
@orbitaldot Thanks for playing! :D
Glad you liked it, thanks for playing! :')
But you can't get crates out of corners even pulling them (pressing Z and moving), @hammerer? It may take a bit, but pulling-pushing can relocate most boxes wherever you wish!
Thanks for playing! Did you get the spell reference? :)
@ultrarat Thanks for playing! And yes, I'm working on a post-jam version with animations and will make one for pulling.
I'm enjoying Defold so far, been using it for a few months already. Made a Global Game Jam entry that was my first game in Defold (https://playmedusa.itch.io/henhouse-guard) but I'm also working on two new full-games (not game jam entries). It's quite straightforward, quite suitable for 2D games! Worst thing is LUA not being typed. Best thing is LUA not being typed. And its community is quite nice! If you enjoy programming more than clicking on editor fields you may like it too, as it expects you to code way more than Unity or Godot.
What a fun entry!! Maybe a bit unbalanced - AI got like four new animals in round 3 and I just had 3 ':D But it could be a really fun multiplayer game at some point! Nicely done.
So fun and original! :D Once I got the idea I managed to organice my wizards so there were at least three at each spot, and summoned them back to the center when the demon appeared. Nice work!
So I thought it was going to be a tower defense but got a nice surprise! :D Fun idea!
Won! Funny how it controls when you get mad XDD
Funny how this Ludum Dare has spawned so many puzzle-based ideas! Nice twist on the picross genre!
This was not only hilarious, but incredibly well put together!! How did you manage to tame the physics engine to make it work?? Well done! :D
Nice Puzzle Bobble game! :D Lovely music. Would love and endless mode.
Nice little puzzle game! Got 16 points and my daughter played too :D

I think the unsummon button is not working on Firefox? So with a bit of care I managed to summon only the bugs I needed in the direction the next wave was comming from. Would have loved to be able to increase speed/time, but it was intriguing enough to play for a while! Nice!
I agree with Tryannas! It's a bit on the hard side, or maybe it's because it's a bit obscure? After I while I understood that R is not another element, it's for summoning! :D But still, I lost on the first screen. The idea sounds nice, you should work on it a bit more!
Oh, not used to see IF games here!
Not much I can control, feels like a slot machine? Or a betting system - ok, I bet this bun will get home safely. RUN, BUN, RUN! :D Quite original!
That table idea is a good one! I spend a lot of time reading which beberage makes what :D Fun little puzzle game, well done!
Beautiful art style! But controls... agh! The character moved so fast! Would have been nicer with a bit more... weight? But it's all been said before, nothing new. In any case, very impressive first entry!
I would love to play more, but it's a bit buggy! First ghosts are fast as hell, so I can just outrun them - no time to summon anything! Then, the next wave appears and... flies into the sky! :D The idea sounds fun, but needs some love! :D
You have something like a one-tough RTS here? I love the idea, gets you dragging your mouse around trying to scoop red soulds away from their group to convert them, a bunch a time. It's somewhat mesmerizing!
@ryusui Ah yes, I made the fast drop that way because I tend to press... out of stress? and make pieces drop where I don't want them. This way I could correct. But given it's been asked a few times I'll probably change to be instant!
In relation to difficulty and first level being too easy, I agree. Made it so during the jam people get the idea about combos. But pace should be a bit faster on those first levels. Maybe go to level2 as soon as you make your first match or something.
Thank you all for playing!
Nice little arcade game! Always glad when I find Pico8 games.
Maybe you could add more effects! I liked that one of the carrots confused you, I'm sure the game would benefit from more effects! Speed up/down, extra life, score multiplier, faster trucks... lots of different carrots with many effects!
Also, maybe movement should be even more old-school? As in you move from carrot-position to carrot-position. That would make it quite frantic!
All in all, nice entry :) (oh, lost my last life because I spawned UNDER A TRUCK) XDDD
I used to love ecosystem sims, this one brought nice memories back! Until a swarm of bunnies ate up all grass on the island, no matter how many hawks and foxes I spawned XDDD Very nice!
What a weird and original idea! Would be nice if different colors produced different effects, maybe? Had me some time building up my monster... which was mostly an ugly blog ^-^
Thanks to lasers and solar sails I ended up removing every single piece of matter from the planet :D I imagine this must be a game quite difficult to balance, right? Never got problems with energy!
I saved them all! :D When it said 'follow the sounds' I thought it was going to be literal, like a blip or something like that. Might be a nice idea to try? :D
Lol not sure when a car needed to be saved unless it was clearly on a crash course, so I clicked them with fear. Sometimes they COULD be in danger but were not. They clearly are when on the same segment and drawing one into another. But when getting to a crossroads? Then I'm not sure, depends on the speed! :D Does the game take that into account? Nice idea!
I did spend a while cheering my microbes up! Would be nice to be able to speed time up maybe. Also, making sure you tell the player you are the one AT THE BOTTOM of the screen - took me a while, I was cheering up the wrong one XDDD
Weird idea, but could certainly be turned into something larger!
Not sure if I could send my warrior bees against that pesky kid with a stick, but I certainly wanted to!! I guess this kind of games need a ton of ways to keep the user knowing about what's happening, at least I missed a lot of feedback. I see the idea working - and you could even try turning it into a Roll&Write game at some point!
That's a nice idea! Would be cool if you could see a few cards to choose from and a few chreatures into the future, so you can plan a little bit. But it's original! Well done! :D
Quack quack quack, quack quack! QUACK QUACK quack... quack. Quack quack? Quack!! Quack Quack.
Not sure how long does the winter take to come, but when I had 12 nuts I thought it was ok and called it a season. It's a nice idea but needs more things happening! :D
There was absolutely no need to make the fishfolk grab weapons with their mouth, but I chuckled everytime they did it. Dagon will be pleased with this one. Nice!
Yeah! Had to do it when I saw it was a Master System game. Here it is working on an Anbernic RG40XXV :D Nice entry! (you can't die, right?)
Sin título.jpg
SO atmospheric!! I only managed to collect two? three gems? But I liked the idea. For some reason, specially the mines and being able to shoot at them :D
So unnerving! Didn't get very far (you can die while choosing an upgrade!) but tried a few times :D The loop works, and I do how there are larger and scarier creatures down there!
I suck in this kind of games, as I am never sure how close I'm to enemies! I usually end up adding a shadow on the ground, but then players only look at those shadows, because that's where the info is! Tricky :D
Anyway, I ended up squeezeing through circles just in case XD Made it to level 6! :D
Incredible work, in every sense. Fun gameplay - even for a (pseudo) idle game, beautiful graphics, sense of humor... Awesome.
I understand it's some kind of Snake game where you have to trap dwarves within your tail (flames)? That's how I played, but those damned dwarves are so fast! :D
I liked minning by smashing my cursors, got confused about how to shoot until I read instructions again :D (I thought I had to collect diamonds and treasures, not using them as bullets!) Nice little game! Congrats, fellow pico8 developer! :D
Oh no! It always happens to me - or my brain - that when there are TWO options for something I always end up messing it up. Was it D for shovel or A? Seems easy, but for some reason I'm unable to retain this kind of dual choices. So you can guess I suck at this game XDD But nice graphics anyway! :D
Got to 60m and I THINK I could do 70 but didn't want to pass out! Nice minimalistic game!
@kawair You were certainly a non-smoker :D
After playing games like this one I end up seeing things moving up, like in one of those optic tricks? Nice score chaser!
Cool Steamworld Dig vibes! Were well executed. Missed a few more critters, but that would have been a totally different kind of game. Well done!
ok I HATE THOSE FROGS. Is there even water down the well?? I'll never now XDD
Nice idea, albeit a bit confusing! But probably just because jam time restrictions - you should probably work on it a bit more! Things like what kind of dirt falls and when, why sometimes critters can't get to where you tell them. In general, just giving more information to players! Like tooltips over critters to tell why the first one is better than the second one? (I'm just guessing). Nice entry!!
Lol, I don't usually like idle games, but this concept and how it works with physics was hilarious! I even hade to take care when to throw my gnomes so they didn't push treasures back into the dwell!! XDDD Cool game!!
Very cool! Difficult to control at first but the whole thing is pretty solid indeed!
I think it's been already said, but yeah, just playing 7 is enough to keep the slime moving forward :D
This idea is quite original and engaging! I understood the basics but didn't quite get the amount it would cost me to take a step on a cell, felt quite random but I'm sure I'm missing something - you can probably have a clue by looking at related columns and row's remaining score...
Nice!
So original! Breaking whole rows and making enemy crabs go down with you makes it quite novel. I felt genious when I realized I could make them fall into spikes :D Well done!
Always fun seeing a fellow Pico8 developer in the wild! Nice game, a bit easy may be? Got to the final boss in my first try :D Well done!
Not sure if it was inspired by carcassone or not, but mixing paths and mushroom caves was nice! Fun and sweet!
It's been a while since I played one of these games! Well done! When I thought it was just about connecting things I started getting spells that changed gameplay for the better. Hope you are planning to keep working on it :D
I'm sure I'm missing something even though I tried a few times... I walk/roll to the pink cube in the center. Then to the sphere that appears. Then something HUGE falls from the sky and pushes me out of the platform and while the game tries to push me back in it won't work and I keep falling? HALP? :D
