Controls didn't work for me expect for shooting with Mouse0 and Mouse1 :(
It took me a while to understand that the cursor disables the controls, but I figured it out.
It looks rawer than your previous games, but you survived a Compo, good job! Nice idea btw.
@ntmalichi If you go into fullscreen, you can press P to toggle mouse cursor which should hopefully fix it
@tweekus Yeah, definitely feels like it, I try to do something new each time that I've never tried before. Spent more time on figuring out the mathematics of the movement than the game itself.
The enemy AI also took more time that it is worth, as it is hard to notice they do actually dive, evade, chase targets, etc. Probably wasn't worth the investment
@indigowolf trying something new is great, don't worry about it. You learned something new ;)
Struggled with the plane controls, got a bit motion sickness hahaha. When I finally understood the controls I basically got the plane flying straight. Good entry.
As war thunder the scenario of shooting ww2 planes in a jet is not new to me. The flying was super hard to control which was not helped by the stuttering performance. Though the physics seemed to be decent and not just flying where you are pointing. I can see this being pretty fun if you had more time. I love the idea!
Couldn't move; I could only shoot in a straight line. A pity it could have been interesting.
Unfortunately, I wasn't able to play; it lags and the controls don't work
I tried to code enemy AI for a flying game in the past and failed multiple times. It is extremely hardcore. If there was a "Tech" voting category for technical achievement I would have given you 6/5 there.
Fighterjet AI...? Amazing! Had some trouble with the controls after unlocking mouse controls (P). C/F seemed to do something else than described and turning with mouse made me do barrel rolls too. Perhaps to sensitive mouse? Was able to follow enemy planes for a while, unsure if I ever hit one. Still, an amazing compo build.
Sending a modern Typhoon back to 1940 is a fun way to make the contrast between old and new technology central to the premise. I like the alternate-history setup, and taking on aircraft movement and enemy flying AI in a compo is an ambitious choice!
Holy mouse sensitivity batman! Turned on a dime, didn't manage to sink any planes after 7~mins of playing, so had to give up. I see why people are trained to do this! Love the audio, the doppler when zooming past a plane felt super immersive. Nice work!
Solid jam experience! Simple, intuitive, and very well executed. Left full ratings! We’d really appreciate it if you could test out Meow Bomb! too. For an updated experience with a working PC and fixes, check out the alternative build here: https://naiper.itch.io/meow-bomb-by-naiper
Have fun playing!
I'm not sure if "people" were playing the same version.
I also had quite a lot of issues trying to play the game. Even after pressing P to "focus mouse" on the game, I had to hold down left mouse button to be able to control the plane. I wasn't really able to experience the game as my FPS dropped to about 3-5 after a few seconds of gameplay.
Hi, unfortunately game freezes after launch, really wished to play it.
Awesome, your game is magnificent! I had a blast playing it, really cool stuff
That’s truly old tech. I remember games like this on the PS1. Pure nostalgia.
The premise of jumping into the Battle of Britain in a Typhoon is really ambitious. It's awesome seeing such a detailed historical setting brought to life with the high stakes of 1940 warfare. Great effort on this one!
hey.... this looks a lot like an LD36 entry, and their theme was "Ancient Technology". I wasn't able to run it though :(
ouch, controls were not too intuitive. Flight sims need an option to invert Y or many people won't be able to properly move the plane! It felt a bit weird, but the idea was ambitious.
