Reall cool!
This is a cool concept -- like the mechanic that you cant use WASDm and that you have to time your clicks well to avoid the red dots. Initially I did not know what the red dots would do.
Nice work!! Maybe add a short demo scene with on screen inscturctions -- I got confused initially about how to assign docs but it did make sense once I read the instructions lol
Cute game! Played it x2 to get a 10!
Haha this is an awesome game! Love the dynamics and idea of the game itself. Managed to make it 10 miles without killiing everybody! Loved the captions over the dead as well and the faces JC made as I messed up :D
Was a bit confused how the 'Prayers' bar worked... it was something to do with the amount of control I had in the game I think but could not pinpoint exactly what was happening to it/how it was being spent.
Really funny and cool!
Really cool game! Love the graphics and concept!
Cool game! A little frustrating initially but very satisfying when I actually got it lol
@mrpiedpiper Thanks for trying!!
Yeah -- i was having trouble figuring out how to balance the difficulty lol. I had some friends try it out, and they said it was too hard, so I changed the exchange rate to 1 health to 2 spirt, till you get to 500 points, and then it becomes 1 health to 1 spirit and eventually becomes less and less
Yeah I should have made the shotgun shots cost more spirit -- will do so after the Jam is over!
@caseyh Thanks for the awesome feedback!!
Yeah, Ill definitely try to make it more of a challenge Post-LD
regarding the lighting-- its a bug that I didnt notice till later haha. The lighting is much better on the desktop versions (see screenshots up top)
Ive figured it out how to fix the bug, and have it ready for me to upload -- but im not sure if Im allowed to do that? The bug was due to incorrect "Color Space" build settings in Unity...
@nekonyo, Thats an impressive score!! Yeah I think post LD I might add some more spawners after a certain score. Currently, all that changes as your score increases is the exchange rate... Do you think increasing the number of enemy spawners, especially so that the player will be forced into the middle, will make it more challenging (there are no spawners in the bottom half of the map)?
@peachtreeoath hahah yeah I had a tough time coming up with a good exchange rate... Ultimately I decided to stick with a linear exchange rate that changes as you get more points. Based on the reviews, Im still not sure how to proceed -- some people who have commented said it was too easy. Maybe I just need a difficulty setting that the player can manually set. As for additional enemies, I was thinking of one that shoots, and one that has a shield in the front, and some that are faster zombie like enemies. I was also thinking of maybe assigning waves of enemies rather than a continuous stream. Opinions on waves of enemies VS continuous stream?
Thanks a lot, @nekonyo and @peachtreeoath! Really helpful feedback :D
Yeah I think spawn locations and making the default weapon weaker are simple changes that can help!
And yes, I dont think this game will become the next Hollow Knight, I think id just like to improve it for my own satisfaction :) was thinking about training an ML Agent to play it -- that might be interesting.
Haha this is a cool game! It was a little confusing at first, but once I got the hang of it it was fun! Maybe a small in game tutorial?
Initially thought the trampoline-like portals were the drop-offs... sacrificed many a cat to the trampoline before exploring and finding the drop off lol
Screen Shot 2018-12-03 at 10.57.39 PM.png Screen Shot 2018-12-03 at 10.57.10 PM.png
Now that ive come back to this page, i see that you have even shared a screenshot of the drop off here... Not sure how I missed that!
Fun game! Though!
haha really cute game -- love the dialogue! Would love more levels :D Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 2.32.27 PM.png
Hey! looks cool -- a tutorial would be very helpful!
It took me a couple to figure out the game mechanics, thought that the people would open the doors if I left them at the doors. Then realized I had to break the doors lol
I was able to make it to a level where there were two tunnels, all seemed to be going well but then the game got over, not sure why? There was an explanation but that went away too quickly
Cool game! I had a tough time getting through the game -- i kept dying! Maybe a easier level to start? Love the art though :D
WOAH! amzing artwork!! THis is so cool!! I really enjoyed the difficulty as well! :D
Amazing art and really funny to watch the little guys going flying! haha thanks
yoooooo
I love this game! Its such a neat idea!!
The levels are really well thought out and designed!
Would love more levels! After the Jam perhaps?
Cool game!! Reminds me slightly of flappy birds! Got a high score of 404! I found a small bug when you restart the game -- it started with a negative score for me. Was this intended? game.png
Really neat way of dealing with dialogue! And AMAZING graphics for compo! Really cool! Didnt quite understand the ending though lol
Cool game! Really amazing graphics for a compo! And fun too!
Some feedback: - more enemies might make it more interesting (although i get it -- time constraints) - one time an enemy spawned almost ontop of me, which was kindof strange, I was on the botton left corner of the map - The shooting animation was a little frustrating -- it would have been nice if it was a little quicker -- i kept getting nabbed by the critteres when I was trying to shoot them - It was easy to train the critters (they followed in a line) and there wasnt much of a reason not to train them (like if you start going in a circle they trail behind you). See image Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 2.37.49 PM.png
- Noticed an off-by-one bug at the end (see screenshot) Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 2.41.09 PM.png
Overall I really did enjoy the game! Really cool work!!
Neat game! Good work! Really like the simplistic art style!
Sound like a cool game! I download the Mac version, but I got an exe file?
Yes could you share the browser version please?
@caseyh This is awesome!!
Tried a few times, and my personal best so far is: Screen Shot 2018-12-04 at 6.29.25 PM.png
Im sure I can do better!
Initially I did not read the instructions and tried the game out, and obviously was very lost and died pretty quickly as the time ran out. I thought that the women were going to attack me, and I had to hide from them behind the doors. Was very confused how they would always end up following me inside and I thought that they were beating me up inside haha
When I read the instructions it made MUCH more sense (i guess that happens if you read instructions, huh). I also did crack up when I found out what was actually going on behind the door lollll
I really enjoyed how the difficulty picked up so well -- it felt like after every few sacrifices there were more 'specters', and towards the end, it felt like they were getting much closer! Really good job on ramping up the difficulty!
Also, really good job on the graphics, and animations! I really loved the art style!!
I did find one bug -- one of the on-ground specters seemed to be way off to the right, inside the cliff (but I was happy that he wasnt in the way of me and de ladies)
Really really impressed by the game, and the art and sound effects! Maybe add some music next time? Brackey's has a good tutorial on making 8-bit music. [BeepBox](https://www.beepbox.co/) is also a place where you can make 8-bit music pretty easily.
Really really awesome work!! :D Glad i got to try it!
This is so amazing! Im just baffled by the fact that you made this for a compo! This is such a polished game! Its beautiful and a lot of fun, love the concept!
Interesting concept! The transition from the start was a bit slow -- took a while to restart once I died as well.
Hey I really love the art! I dont quite get what the 'weight' is for or where I can use money/how to get money. This is really cool though!
This is so cool! I love the concept and the gameplay! I like how the guys CANT be clustered together -- otherwise it would have been too easy. Really awesome!
OMG I played it for like 20 min on and off while trying to read a journal article, and now that ive come here to rate the game you're telling me THAT YOU CAN UPGRADE ENEMIES??!??! This is awesome! I played only with the first enemy and was just upgrading my charater's attributes! Must go back and play with enemies!
What an awesome game! Really enjoyed it! Have you considered making it a mobile game? I think it'd do well!
Really cool game! Love the graphics. I loved the movement of the player! And the concept of energy! You mentioned that you want to add to it -- what kind of things are you thinking of?
I feel as though this could be kindof like a rougelike shooter! and maybe the enemies dont even necessarily need to shoot at you, but if they just shoot things in general in the room, that might make it a little challenging (and potentially easier to code!)
Really looking forward to seeing what this becomes! LMK if you have any updates pls!
Hey awsome animation and graphics!
I did notice the text being a little blurry and could always clearly see it. For eg: Screen Shot 2019-04-30 at 5.05.31 PM.png
Also, initially i died right after the first day, and had to refresh the page as the game was not restarting: Screen Shot 2019-04-30 at 5.06.11 PM.png
I really really enjoyed the fact that you programmed in the game of life with the plants!! Super cool work!
really liked the view angle, and the fact that you can see further down! itd be so cool if the levels could be procedurally generated!
Ahhh it's been a while since I've played a text adventure! Really enjoyed this! Very refreshing and loved the story! Have you considered making this like an Alexa or Google home voice app? I think it'd be really cool! You should do it!
This is really neat! Im amazed at how polished this already is!
Nicely done! I really enjoyed the concept and hope to see updates from this game!
@beanslasher, yessss! So oddly satisfying to watch their ragdolls fly haha!
@jsec thanks for the feedback regarding the music! What'd you think about the sfx tho?
@cubicode yeah! Will make the change to the handbrake. We actually programmed the car from scratch (didn't use the standard asset car), which was fun but also wayyy to time consuming haha! But hey we learned some cool stuff about programming aerodynamics for falling bodies!
Thanks guys for trying the game out!
@mieeh glad you like the car! It took aggeessssss! Yeah! we were thinking about making the humans green to make them look like monsters haha we were also playing with the idea of giving all the humans suits and calling them politicians at one point.
Initially the controls confused me but then once I got the hand of it it became super fun! Have you considered making this a phone game using your phones accelerometer?
Looked really cool! Please let me know when you get it up -- would loe to try it out!
what an adorable (and beautiful) game! Very impressed by the graphics and gameplay! The chopping up of the cat to show segments was slightly creepy though but I enjoyed it haha
Woaaahhhh what an awesome game! I am so thoroughly impressed with your work for a jam! Way to go!
Really awesome concept and nicely done! I found it a bit tough to aim. Have you considered making it a mobile game? I think it'd be fun!
Really awesome game! Very polished and fun to play! Highly recommend making it a mobile game!
Hey I had an issue when trying to download the file:
Google Chrome blocks downloads Chrome automatically blocks harmful downloads that try to cause problems on your computer, like:
Giving you viruses Leaking your private data Changing your browser and computer settings Adding unwanted extensions or toolbars to your browser Why the download was blocked Your file download may have been blocked for one of two reasons:
We think it might be a malicious, unwanted, or uncommon file. Malicious: You tried downloading malware. Unwanted: You tried downloading a deceptive piece of software. This program, disguised as a helpful download, may actually make unexpected changes to your computer. Uncommon: You tried downloading an unfamiliar and potentially dangerous piece of software. We've found that the website you tried to download the file from has been known to distribute malware.
Wow what a fantastic idea! Really loved the game mechanics and concept!
Haha really enjoyed the concept! Good work!
Good job! Cool game!
really nice concept and amazing work for such a jam game!! Yeah as Notekri mentioned, a quick death affect would be cool! Also it would be nice to get a web build up!
Omg love this game! Please make it on mobile!
Really impressive work! I really enjoyed the concept but initially didnt quite understand the controls. Also, maybe make a web version for ease of access next time round?
Had some trouble running the game -- sounds really cool! LMK if you get it up!
Awesome game! Man I really had to grind to get 💯 but it was so much fun getting to that point! Really enjoyed the concept!
I really enjoyed the game! Nice music! also like the floaty jump and the puzzles! :D
Very amazing graphics! such cool work in such a short time! I really enjoyed the fighting!
Really cool game! Love the music and the concept, and enemies! I found it a bit difficult to wear the tunic initially -- i hadnt realised I was supposed to break the box! hahah! Really enjoyed it!
Would love to try this when a Mac build is available!
Interesting concept! This could be a fun mobile game once polished :)
Ahhhh ! this is pretty cool! I like how there is a visual signifier on the screen telling you where the other flowers are that need watering :) Maybe add some pests that you can stop for a future version? And upgrades for your pesticide/water that you can buy when you sell flowers!
This game is so relaxing and fun once you get the hang of it. (BTW I played it on my mac and had no issues with it in case you needed mac testers)
really awesome game! I love the talking sound sfx :) I did use the help of the walkthrough at somepoints to help figure out what to do next at some points :D
Really beutiful art! Good job :)
Haha funny concept :)
I really enjoyed this game! the art, music and difficulty progression kept it really interesting :) Havent played a TD game in a while!
Really cute game with awesome graphics :)
Really intense start.... gosh. Controlls kindof confusing though, like it says he needs to breath, so I pressed on the air tube thing. And then charged up the defib half way and used it on him... but he keeps dying lol.
Sadly when I tried to build it for HTML the tunnels don't generate (I think I wrote the procedural generation code really poorly and causes memory errors on browsers) :(
@kythehuman, I could make one but wont be able to test it :(
Hi all! thanks for trying it!
@becher yep! Perlin Noise + Marching Cube!
@nacholr , @terry and @chao thanks for the feedback :) Regarding the map generation -- I was unable to generate too much of it without the game becoming way too slow to be playable sadly (maybe just cause my computer is a 2013 MacBook?) I would have def liked to generate more of the map tho. I was a bit dishartend that I wasnt able to render more, but then decided that it could be made into a fun feature! And I realise that it is quite difficult haha I havent gotten past ~150 points. I added the spacebar-slow-time feature to try to help make it a bit easier.
@pepperkep !!! Thanks for pointing out the how the game is quitting!! I had thought that the game was crashing cause of some weird stuff going on with the procedural generation -- but after testing what you mentioned with the spacebar -- I think it is indeed some weirdness with the canvas! Not sure whats up... But yeah, space is somehow pressing the "x" button... super weird.
@designernap the roll is a great idea! I had messed around a bit with it but i wasn't able to quite get it how I liked, so got rid of it, but will try to add it :)
Nice work! Really cool concept :) It would be cool if you could incorporate some real astrophysics into this, and then this could be a super useful educational game! Eg the adding the lifecycles of stars, having some stars undergoing a supernovae and forming neutron stars/black holes etc :)
Amazing art! good work!
Hahah that was great! Meryl streep got me haha
NIce work!
This game is a piece of art. It really reminds me of Hows moving castle :)
OMG THIS IS SO EVIL hahah good work!! I did not do very well to keep the patient alive.
Good job! I really like the concept of the game as well :)
Seems cool and love the graphics and idea! however i had tough time playing the game tbh... like I kept throwing the baskets at them but nothing happened, the baskets just seemed to break.
Excited to try this out!
This was awesome! Ahhh i was so close to making it but sadly died close to the end. I like how the difficulty ramps up :) Maybe its be cool visibly showing the plant dying as you mess up the controls and its health decreases. Really nice!
Hey guys, btw forgot about uploading these:
Screen Shot 2020-04-30 at 12.08.13 am.png Screen Shot 2020-04-30 at 12.08.31 am.png Some of your tutorial canvases might have their text boxes wider than you like I think... (played on chrome, on my mac)
Cool game! Towards the end i just started spamming cause my typing is shit haha, eventually I got a black screen -- did I break the game? Screen Shot 2020-04-30 at 4.54.14 pm.png
BTW there was one more typing game made by @kythehuman that I've played this jam: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/all-caps-episode-1-the-incident-at-puppy-canyon
Thought you guys might be interested in checking it out :)
Really cute game!
LOVE THE BLOOM AND VISUAL EFFECTS :D
Really fun game :) i liked the graphics and the glowing effects used on the sprites. Good job!
Very sute sprites :) Is there a way we can get our character back in once they die?
Initioally a bit confusing but I liked the physics :)
NIce work!
Awesome work! Got 102 as my best score I think! I liked how the random difficulty modifier stacked at the bottom :)
really awesome mechanics and beautiful! would love to see a tutorial about how you made this :)
fun game! i liked the fact that if you left even a bit of fire around, it would spread! kept me on my toed :) Really beautiful graphics as well.
One thing that I found slightly frustrating was the movement + aiming controls being on the same keys. Eg when I tried to shoot up, I would sometimes jump up instead.
Really cool game and wish i could have played more, but I found the controls really frustrating. Eg when the length was 2, me and my partner both found the first part of the cave kindof tough Screen Shot 2021-05-08 at 2.42.42 pm.png
Eventually when we made it to the dragon, we couldn't figure out how to actually stab it. Screen Shot 2021-05-08 at 2.45.41 pm.png
Neat! this was quite complex!
Nice game! I was a bit confused about the controls, eg didn't realise I had to click the green block to attack. Wasnt ever sure what exactly the two bars on the top of the screen were for.
AHHH CRUD! Lol thanks @sode and @tezza48 ! Even though I finished the game 8hrs early, it was 3AM my time, so I wasn't thinking straight lol. It was indeed on "Draft".
@aplite , @mdotedot , @firellon , @mudlee and @ccglp : thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone!
Yea! If I decide to work more on the game in the future ill def try to work on the difficulty of the enemies (and fix the bugs)
Just wondering: was the dash-bar that was on top of the screen intuitive? As in, did you realise that your dash depleted with repeated use?
For the difficulty ramping as the progress goes on: Maybe in the future, I can pull the first 5 floors from an "easy" category, and then after that pull the next few from the more difficult set of levels.
Thanks! These are great suggestions :)
This is such a fun and polished game! very impressed, and loved it :) already spent like 20 min playing haha
Really fun gameplay!
Nice game! I was wondering: why didnt you add a webGL build?
cute! however i found it a bit too easy :) Maybe make it a bit challenging at the start and allow the player to get upgrades with points etc
PRETTYY. A bit dizzying tho
Nice game! but i feel as though I had no say in how the vehicle was going to be changed. in fact, it felt like even if I drove/dint drive, it wouldn't have made much of a difference?
This was a great game :) is it possible to eat all the poo on the map?
cool but tbh i didnt really understand what to do haha
Great game! id heard of this idea, but neer seen an interface to play :)
If you'd be able to randomly generate the levels thatd also be sick!
NICE! I really love the art, music and gameplay! Controlls are nice and intuitive, and the autoaim was a delight with the mouse :) Initially I was trying to go down and collect stuff, but quickly got rekt by the green guys. On my second attempt, I collected as many stones initially as I could before proceeding. That seemed to do the trick!
Cute game! good job with the art :)
lololol nice game! fertilisation took a while! although I didn't need all the upgrades
Wow super impressive and a lot of fun! Really beautiful game :)
Spooky! I like the simplistic gameplay elements and great aesthetics! Were all the assets made by your team? Really impressive modelling skills!
Really fun and funny game! I liked the hands-only FPS design :) Really impressive for a compo!!
Beautiful game! I think I found a bug: I collected a few people into the ship, but then I was unable to climb the ladder/jump onto the ladder (I kept getting teleported to the right)!
[gif](https://media.giphy.com/media/5tcDtNmThcrKOz5t3d/giphy.gif) (The upload was taking way too long)
lol this is such a meme! I love it!
This was such an adorable game to play :) Great work!
Screen Shot 2021-10-05 at 3.04.19 pm.png
OMG THIS IS SO COOL!!! I had wanted to include either using a mic/webcam in my game, but pyaudio was a pain in the butt to create an EXE for (I used pygame)!!! Im so glad you've shared the src code for this, ill take a look at it :) Really awesome and impressive work! Maybe I should look at using gdscrpt for my next game jam :)
Really cool concept! I didnt make it past wave 4 but it was alot of fun :)
neat game! managed to last 6 days! what actually happens if you dont "feed her"?
Really cool game! beautiful art :) Was a bit confused initially how to play haha
If anyone has suggestions on how I might be able to improve training please let me know! thanks  (Currently, ML agents are not in use in the deployed game because I was unable to train the agent well enough)
Thanks all! @william-corrin , @pdotjpg and @daniel-mak I actually cant hear too well -- hence lack of audio :) maybe i should add some visual SFX haha
nice! My highest score was 108 :)
Really fun game! I liked the detail put in -- eg the pulses of lines in the tiles is super cool! The UI and mechanics feel very polished, and the progression was interesting :)
I think i found a bug on the webGL version: when I walked into the big piles of trash, i got the funny dialog saying the trash was too much -- but then the "death" screen was a bit abrupt, and I was unable to leave without refreshing the page (image attached) Screen Shot 2022-04-04 at 4.36.14 pm.png
I also found it a bit tricky to determine where my projectiles were going to be launched, but maybe thats a feature to add a bit more challenge!!
All in all -- super cool :)
Nice work! It really felt like i was having a convo with you haha
Funny concept and cool adaptation of the theme!! It took me a while to get the hang of the controls, but found it to be quite rewarding and satisfying -- although like @kir-pow I agree it would be cool to get some more feedback on objectives. Really cool game overall!
Really beautiful game, and fun to play! RE your pixel art course -- do you have some tuts vids on youtube? :)
Fun game! I loved the art and the concept of the flowers + minigame. Are all the cacti named "Random Catus", or do they get special names after some criteria?
Here is my gameplay video: https://youtu.be/an7A9ToflP8
##### SOME MINOR FEEDBACK:
1. wasnt clear to me initially how to plant the cacti 2. Felt like there was a bit of lag (at least on webGL) for the timing game, making it a bit frustrating 3. Was confused why in the timing game some-times I would get failure even when I was dead-center in the colored zone: Screen Shot 2023-01-10 at 10.03.32 am.png 4. Some of the alignment minigames felt like the two stars werent centered properly... but maybe i missed something?
Screen Shot 2023-01-10 at 10.05.12 am.png
Low-key reminds me of among us haha
Beautiful game! I hadnt realised that the pesticide was bad until after my first playtrhough when i read the instructions haha -- i assumed harvesting humans == good
This looks like a cool game! Very impressed with the art :)
Really cool game!! I love the use of the webcam :)
Lol my score doesnt quite come close to the high score ~ 800
Uh oh, this might be a bug that you can fix in player settings, making the build compress as a gzip
Looks like a fun and very polished game! Unfortunately, i wasnt able to load it:
Screen Shot 2023-01-10 at 9.28.07 am.png
Made chrome crash + stop responding after the progress-bar reached mid-way. Has anyone else had this issue? Otherwise it might just be my 2014 Macbook calling it quits haha
Sidenote: I took a look at your git-repo -- Godot code looks quite clean!
Very relaxing and beautiful game :) I found the hedgehogs very cute 🥰
Fun game! Btw the web link also works quite well on mobile!
Found it quite relaxing, however it was hard to find some constellations at times :)
Nice game! It was quite fun, and very impressive -- I wouldnt have been able to make something like this even if I had a month hahah
#### Some minor gameplay feedback:
Got initially stuck in the instructions menu on the itchio page: Screen Shot 2023-01-10 at 9.43.25 am.png
Had to re-load as I wasnt able to exit out -- maybe because i was pressing the wrong exit button?
Same issue with the shop.
Had a situation where the player character kept moving towards the right (even after I stopped pressing right on the keyboard), but this stopped once i fell into the pit.
Really beautiful game! The aesthetics and music are both awesome! This would also make such a relaxing background/wallpaper :)
Nice reto fun!I think one way to help with packaging might be pypi? Although not perfect, it will make the steps to play shorter (eg instead of having to download the script, and manually install pygame, this could all be bundled together)
Ooft I got rekt hahaha overall a pretty cool game tho! Really nice visuals :) I wonder if you could get a AI bot to play it
Ps love the devlogs :)
A unique and beautiful game with some really cute visual elements :) the variety of both weapons and enemies made it quite enjoyable! I can totally see this being expanded by adding some kind of shop/upgrade system but it doesn't even need anything else as it stands :) awesome and impressive work!
Very satisfying and relaxing game :) I loves the simplicity of the game, and loved the art + music. Altogether the game feels very polished and professional!
This is such a well executed game! Love the old man and his sneaky ways hahahh
I had to restart once cause there was some bit of furniture exposed, but I managed to finish the game :) I'm sad that the old man went away in the last round
Fun game! I liked the concept + art -- but i had a bit of trouble with the movement, it seems like the movement would "stick" sometimes/there was a delay in updating the player movement? Maybe this was intentional?
Impressive work! I'm amazed by all that can be done by pygame :)
Had some issues running the game from the ludum dare page, but worked from itch: Screenshot from 2023-05-05 17-54-13.png
Really polihsed and pretty game! Im amazed that this was a compo game :D Really awesome stuff!
Neat! I'll use this to find the next set of game to look at :)
"The king awakens!" Really pretty game and cool idea -- loved the tile concept of exploration and the minigames. I liked that the minigames had different difficulties and powerups beased on exploration :D Really cool stuff
This is soooo pretty!! :D
This is such an awesome game! I loved that its procedurally generated everytime, and that you've made an effort in making sure that at the start the correct resources are nearby. I unfortunately went bankrupt in all my 4 attempts haha.
It would be cool to be able to zoom out -- but maybe that'd make things too easy? Aside -- i think it would be cool to print out the tracks/map on game completion :D
nice game! I got stuck a few times near some of the obstacles. When i reached level 3 speed, coming head-on with an obstacle (i think some blue spikey shard) sent me flying above lol. Fun game!
omg lol stressful! But this was really fun, nice pixel art!
This is so cool! I love the difficulty and the art -- very polished!
Really fun! Thoughts on making the delivery/collection automatic (no need for pressing the 'A', just need to walk by the location)? Additional feature that could be fun would be an live opponent :) could also be fun to code a bot!
Fun game! I wonder -- if you've coded this up with pygame, would it be possible to use pip to distribute the game as a pip package?
No official authorization required for making pip packages, but yeah I see your point about the downloading src!
Nice work! I liked the little pickle rick reference :)
Unfortunately I was unable to run this hmmm
If you update the build id love to give it a try!
This is so cool! Reminds me of the 2010's nitrome games :D
Beautiful visuals and really fun gameplay! Parts of it reminded me of death's door :)
At the very start after i burnt the first tree, i was confused why i couldnt burn the other nearby trees (i only later realised that it was cause they didnt have leaves).
I was quite grateful for the bonfire-respawns :) So even if the enemies were challenging at times, i knew that I would be able to respawn again.
I tried a few times to get a 'perfect' speedrun in (without dying) but didnt quite make it haha! I think this would be interesting to see what speedrun times for this game could indeed be!
Haha fun inventory management game! Got 76 points, glad I kept excalibur, should have used my potions more often! (Also liked the little messages from the devs  )
Loved the graphics, animations, and the hecticness of this game! Btw I played this on my cell and it worked quite well!!
I think this would be fun to watch a bot play this as well -- could be like a little digital art piece, watching everything flow the way it's supposed to in the most efficient manner :)
This is so cool!! I did indeed have to make a Roblox account + install the app on my computer, but I loved the game!
In fact I think i ended up playing on a server with you for a bit! https://youtu.be/3YdZmMz1MgA
Im an astronomer, so I do really love physics-y games  Nice work!
I have always wanted to hack on multiplayer games, but was pretty off-put by setting up networking stuff. Hadnt appretiated that Roblox is a platform that makes this easy! Was the game coded up in something specific for Roblox?
really fun game! This was quite the timesink for me :)
I did have some trouble getting started however -- found it tricky/confusing to understand how to get the items to move onto the conveyor belt at from the green tiles.
Side note: Woah! how did you manage to deploy the game on webgl?! I've struggled with deployments on pygame -- the best i've done is release pygames on pypi hahaha
Really georgeous game! I love the cards, and the interface, animations for the cards getting played and even the upgrades! Really appretiate that thje x2 sheild happens _after_ the +5 shield :D (or maybe was i just lucky?)
I did find that it was bit challenging to know what the new items in the garage would do: Screen Shot 2023-10-03 at 3.03.58 pm.png
Seemed like only _after_ i added the item could i figure out what the new associated cards would do.
great work! Loved it :D
Thanks all for trying the game and giving some feedback!
@jotson haha yeah, we would have loved to add in more weapons etc. Tbh initially we had planned on making it kindof like a reverse bullet hell, but bugs kept crawling out from our hacky code lol.
@scottmakesgames yeah the weapons can be switched between, and the various items on the lower row help the slayer out (increase damage, increase speed, increase "eyesight" by increasing the camera limits, and finally increasing spotlight range. Did the bigger eyes not work for you? The camera should have moved back? (Note it only can be purchased 2 times).
@ben-parisi haha yeah we're hoping on adding some objectives but decided to just try to polish up the survival aspect instead when we started running out of time.
@tw01c thank you for pointing that out!! We had completely forgotten about how this might cause issues! This isn't very accessible! I'll try to leave a warning once I'm back at my computer! Thanks.
Cool game!! I found the action quite satisfying:) I also didn't have any issues with controls, even though I played in chrome... strange!
Really fun game! Nice concept and STUNNING visuals! Was a bit confused by the beam power up.
Great job also on the leaderboard! Did you guys use plassion for it?
This is a dope game!! I loved the mechanics and found this to be quite an original concept:)
Potential thought for expanding the idea: maybe after the level you can keep the survivors and upgrade them -- give them different abilities etc.
Cool game!! Btw I was able to play this on my cell quite well :) kindof like eyes spy! I reckon this could be fun also in like other environments, eg like a city, or smth. Nice!
Btw how challenging was it to set up the leaderboard? Any tips?
This is so awesome!!! haha no way will i reach the top 10 highscores LOL
This could also be reall fun in like a 'relax' mode where the camera zooms out -- or even just if the game play area is infintely large -- could be a cool livestream where no-one even needs to play, just watch the lil guy meander thru space, accidentally getting combos just by existing! haha!
PS, what tool did you use for the leaderboards?
What a cute game!! Loved it, great work and nice incorporation of the theme! Cool to see that you took the dive and went to Godot head on for the jam!
Such a fun game! I initially was a bit confused with what I was supposed to do, but then got the hang of it after the first round!
Maybe include some icons/visual tutorial at the start of the game indicating what arrow key corresponds to what (i was initially pressing left/right thinking i was meant to move the character to the spot).
REally beutiful game with funn mechanics!! LOVED the web-physics :D very satisfying to play
Woops -- should have read your note bout the bug!! Was fun tho -- loved the upgrades, felt like they made a solid difference :) Great jb with the SFX
Cool game1 I liked the idea of 'timed prgramming', the players' choices seem confined to a 'limited space' :)
It would have been nice if the text animation could be a bit faster/skipped in the first level...
Additioally, at some points i thought the platforms were a part of the background, only until after i jumped on them:
Screen Shot 2023-10-03 at 6.59.00 pm.png
Really fun puzzle platfoermer tho!
What an awesomely simple yet fun game! I was stuck on 'clearing space' for ageesss! Nice work!
Really funny game!! Nice pixel art :) I was initially perplexed that I wasn't able to fit all items at once, thought I was doing something wrong haha.
Nice game! i initially had some issues running it on my mac (something about the app being potentially unsafe). Rickt clicking and saying 'trust developer' seemed to do the trick. I liked the gameplay, took me a while to get the hang of, but wasfun once I did!
Not my hand!! Cool game, beautiful art!
Thanks all for trying it!
Haha yes, agreed, we ended up steering away from the theme.
I think we ended up having to do this to end up with something actually playable towards the end (our initial ideas may have been too *fancy*)
Do folks have suggestions for project scope management/suggestions for how to actually come up with nice gameplay ideas given the theme?
My team spent a solid three hours trying to figure out a way to make a game based on the theme, and ended up with this being the idea. partially because we thought it would be easy to implement (it was the first game jam for the majority of my team, and I didn't want to overwhelm them)
From the screenshot it looks cool! I wish a web/mac build would have been possible, but i get that in these jams its hard to get a build out in general, let alone buils for multipled platforms!
This game has by far my fav art from the enteries I've tried so far! I love the colorful designs and the hand-drawn style :)
Really cool art and animations! love the dance the most haha!
Beautiful art! I didnt manage to get all 10 creatures, but i did get a few :)
Your creatures are absolutely adorable! I wish that they were a bit bigger so I could see them!
The background ane enemy art styles did clash a bit with your creatures, but I understand that was just due to time constraints!
Woooahh i wonder how the drawings are parsed! Is it some ML recognition?
i got a Naughty claus! haha! cool mini idle game :)
Nice! loved the art and loved the use of runes to generate 'new' monsters, it took me a while to get the hang of, but interesting concept!
Cute game! intesting mechanics, im curious to see the code for recongnising the drawing shapes!
Cool game! I liked that the combos would take out additional bubbles that I placed nearby:)
The purple hats rekt me haha
This is such a neat and unique take on the theme! I love your little creatures :)
Wow! this is impressive as heck! THe art and music are fantastic! I was wondering -- were the rythm components manually arranged? Or were they somehow procedurally generated? Eg how easy is it to add a new song?
Interesting concept! However, I initially struggled with getting the game to work on chrome.. has anyone else had this issue? Myabe i havent understood how to play it...
What an awesome puzzler! Incorporates the theme so well, love it!
Such an adorable game! I initially was confused about how to 'attack' the rock, i thought placign my die on the board and ending the turn would suffice. Silly of me! I loved the art, and little details like the camera movement with the mouse :)
really cool game! loved the little dude, animations and SFX :)
woah! pico-8 code looks funky!!
Cool idea! wish there was a web build -- i dont have a windows machine :(
oh noooo we got squashed :) that was a cute game -- made me smile but also get rather frustrated with the fly. Well done!
Really beautiful pixel art! Loved the background effect. Really liked the power up system and the chaos the follows past level 5 haha
OMG someone got 1billion? thats insane, i just got like 80 lol
I think i need to try this again on my cell phone..
Such a clever game!! I could totally see this also as a cool board game for 2 people!
The AI logic must have been very interesting!!
Fun game! love command aspect of the game -- and that there is some proximity logic for which sheep obey the commands, that must have been interesting to code!
This was a powerful message. It the best interactive representation of grief and depression -- how it takes more effort to do the thing that is the 'correct' thing to do.
Really great job. I think it would be nice to share this even elsewhere -- more people should have the chance to see this and engage with it.
Loved the level design! Didnt even have to looko at the instructions, was able to just try out the levels and figure out what the critters do/work -- and your UI made that so clear :) Awesome work! Also love the game art and music :)
Fun game! It would be so cool to have had some lvl up features for the magnifying glass! Burn it alllll! Loved the handrawn art style :)
Let there be ~~light~~ chaos. Fun idea and nice graphics :)
Such a beautiful game! And very fun mechanics -- nice work!
Clever idea! I liked the usage of the 2ndary smaller character to solve puzzles. I struggled a bit with one of the levels tho, my character kept getting stuck behing the ball.
Screenshot 2024-10-08 at 9.53.03 PM.png
The minimalistic art style was awesome and idea of the game was a lot of fun! I loved the little critters' animations :)
Thanks for making this :)
uh oh -- seems like I just have a black screen?Screenshot 2024-10-08 at 9.32.34 PM.png
has the order of script executiono gotten messed up?
Nice work! love the art and the gameplay was quite fun :)
Game looks interesting -- dont have a windows machine tho :( DO you have a youtube vid?
Really cool concept! Very innovative :)
Hey! That was fun -- very satisfying to collect, especially after the x2 points :)
OOO i love me an idle game :) nice one!
This was such a fun game, love the concept and execution:)
Wow, absolutely love there art and the thought provoking content :)
Oh so pretty!! I love the art
Im just amazed by the art! Its stunning!
So pretty! Loved the art direction. I think if you want the player to have a chill experience, maybe some guide/compass after a while of them being stuck could be a nice feather to help nudge them towards the correct direction
Woahhh that was fun! Creepy, but fun! Love the art, i think i would have found a map or a compas or something useful tho.
Wow! I love the art in this game, great work!
I spammed that bbq sauce haha nice work on the game!
Hey sorry, we messed up and couldnt make an .exe cause we use an experimental unity feature :( Here is a link to a video of the demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G8b9vDgItpo
Have you tried hosting on itch? It's quite easy to set up. I'd suggest that for future jams
Wow I love the VFX and the way the signals is sent is quite satisfying:) nice one
The artwork in this is awesome! I found it a bit confusing to play however...
Nice set of minigames! i see how mixed signals happens later on -- eg the hippo running into the non tnt and still blowing up :)
This is such a stunning game! here is my 2nd playthrough
https://youtu.be/5Nc5dR1f76A
Wow this is so polished! Great job :) I also kept watching :)
Wow this is so cool! Great work! I love the use of the different "echolocation signals"
Woa! this is so polished! Great work!
This is such a pretty game! I love the artwork, and found the game fun and relaxing :) nice work
Omg this is such a cute game! I love the art style and details to things like the animations. Eg I'm a fan of the little wiggle if the walrus, I feel like it makes them feel so much more alive :) nice work!
Very impressive pixel artwork! I love the animations and a big fan of the dig ability:)
Hmm I had trouble running it..
Fun concept!
