I don’t understaaand((((((((
@maxim-cheryshev what exactly causes problems? we are working on a fix so more feedback on unintuitive or strange moments will be great!
It is a pretty cool idea, but very confusing, The map is very confusing, and the path finding to the objectives often go right into the world geometry, and sometimes you can enter the geometry itself. I also dislike the that robot is so slow and the objectives are so far apart.
Awesome, your game is magnificent! I had a blast playing it, really cool stuff!
it's a little non-user-friendly, i didn't understand how to play it, there is no good explanation what to do, the art is great, and the controls for each wheel on it's own is cool too
An interesting control scheme and cool graphics, but the sound is very quiet, and there’s a lack of background music.
The premise of a small robot still carrying out deliveries in a post-apocalyptic world is wonderfully poignant. The contrast between the bright, working machine and the decaying environment creates such a strong atmosphere. I really enjoyed the idea of learning the history of the world through the packages themselves.
I really like the movement, it's more unique than a simple WASD. But as others say, the game is very confusing. I collected the first package, reached the destination, and now what? It says to collect the next package. It'd be hilarious to go back to spawn without any line to follow, the players will forget where the station is...
Also, I can phase through blocks and get stuck by nothing (did you use collisions correctly?). And the tracks from the robot moves in the wrong direction. For audio... it kinda lacks, didn't hear a single music / sound.
The art and modeling in this game are excellent, and the story is really engaging—it reminds me of WALL-E. However, I’m a little confused about why I have to hold both W and the up arrow key at the same time to move forward.
A little delivery robot still doing its job after the end of the world is a poignant premise, and the art and modeling look excellent. Clearer guidance on what to do next and a bit more audio would help a lot. Lovely concept!
Thank you guys for comments and fair critique takes. We've made a fix for some of them and working on a second one rn. So check out updated version, hope it will be better) And you will actually hear the music our genius of a composer wrote))
Very atmospheric! I like the controls, I think they're amusing. It took me awhile for my brain to adapt to turning while moving, but I got there eventually.
I like what you did with the world: structures popping out of the ground at odd angles, the zones being so distinct from one another added a bunch of personality. Lots of just super interesting configurations to look at.
I agree though that your speed is a bit too slow for the size of the world.
I did not like the invisible walls. I got softlocked my first time colliding with one, and the second time trying ran into 2 different ones at 2 large deadends. It did not help that I did not know where I was going, so I spent a good 20 minutes just driving around before it occurred to me that the scanner gave you the lines needed to go to the next object :(
I finally made it to the first object, then got softlocked on my way back on .... something?
I might come back some other day to try to finish this one up. Nice work!
Got softlocked in the environment, so couldn't finish it. From what I did play, felt fine, just needed more time in the oven, or focus maybe. I did enjoy the proper tank controls once I got used to them, but it felt like I was just filling time between audio lines, rather than anything mechanically engaging.
Interesting movement couldn't figure out why its only left wheel, but then got used to it After first delivery i ran out of scan and didnt find where to recharge it and also i got stuck in some places on the map like 2-3 times would be great if the voice lines would also appear as a text to read
When I tried to play on linux I didn't see any text in the game due to compatibility issues, so I couldn't do much. The art was great however, so I only rated this category. I would really appreciate a linux build!
As someone who also tried to make a cute robot, I very much appreciate this little guy. His antenna is especially nice, the way it looks a bit like a tree branch (reminiscent of the strange white and red trees dotted about).
I like that he has a strange control scheme. It takes getting used to, but it helps get into the mindset that you are a robot now and doing robot things. I do wish the camera didn't move as much when making course corrections. And, as others have said, a higher speed would do wonders. Or perhaps a speed that the player can modulate (because taking turns at high speed would be... a fun challenge, let's just say).
I am impressed by the size of the world. There are different biomes with each their own identity and sound. That, coupled with the voicelines upon delivery, made me want to explore (I even went off without a package for a bit, but the slow speed of little courier forced me back on task). It would be nice if there was more to see, hear, or do in this world while little courier is chugging towards his next destination.
I love, love the hand-drawn textures. I wish more of the game had those textures. And if the hand-drawn feel could be somehow echoed more in the geometry, that would be chef's kiss (understandably entirely out of scope for a jam game). There is something appealing to me about the juxtaposition between hand-drawn, almost childlike art, and a vast dystopian city with a brutal ruler. Especially considering the main character is a cutey little robot dude, who feels both childlike and vulnerable in his design.
I might have found a bug (or this was user error): I couldn't recharge at the green station. Perhaps I wasn't on top of it correctly or enough? Or perhaps it just really didn't work. Unclear to me.
All in all, an intrigued take on the theme and a fun concept to explore further, if you were so inclined.
