LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Flip-flop by Pete 2020-10-23T20:12:45Z

Kudos for the innovation on the game, I enjoyed the puzzels. the game needed some polishing, like showing the instructions for playing as I discovered by chance how the restart the level if I lost, also a home menu for selecting or repeating levels, and of course some sound effects and music would have been great.

A good game and I have enjoyed it

B.O.M. by krammetje 2020-10-06T11:14:24Z

I killed 6 bosses, more fun than I anticipated. Having the choice of choosing what skills to give the boss is innovative. These could use more improvements: - Better player animation, and adding North, and South animation to better attack enemies. - Skills choosing screen needs polishing, as it's hard to read text on it. (solid background could have been better than the matrix one)

Loop ♻ by ColinBellino 2020-10-06T12:15:56Z

Beautiful art, I like movements, and the grid snapping. Nice use of the restarting mechanics, our first prototype had similar restarting mechanics on timer, but we changed it and made the restarting on command with ghost mechanics. Your implementation is far more polished of what we could achieved if we continued this path.

Wish if you have more levels though.

Save The Prince by AVAVT 2020-10-26T20:15:49Z

I am amazed by this game, at first I didn't though that this would be fun, but after 3 rolls I started to understand the mechanics, and just lost track of time playing it. This is very good game, I like the music, the graphics, and what I loved the most is the concept. The only feedback I have, are the controls are not so intuitive, but it didn't ruin the game, at least for me.

hudunnit by Minus 2020-10-06T12:45:03Z

Now that's a game I wish I am the one created it. Beautiful art, fitting sound effects, and interesting story. The only thing I could say something about is polishing the investigation and finding the culprit mechanic.

The Innermost Inside by Majadroid 2020-10-06T11:29:03Z

Interesting concept, what I like is the jumping concept, and how it feel snappy, and responsive. What I think needs more polishing is animation in general and specially player animation.

LÖÖPS by Tamail 2020-10-05T22:28:16Z

Cute game, liked how you took the theme name quite literal :cat: Wished if there were more decisions that I could make, other than that, you made a beautiful game:)

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-06T12:00:17Z

A fantastic concept, I enjoyed it so much, and had high hopes for its end, but unfortunately it was missing that part. Would play it again indeed once it's finished.

Participatory Loop (and the Samovar of Time) by xlomid 2020-10-20T22:45:57Z

@shenawy I have played the finished game, and I like it so much. I loved the concept even more  keep up the good work and would love to play your next games

11:59 Pm by Mardood 2020-10-06T10:32:35Z

A funny game, one of my colleague kept smiling and laughing while playing this game, and that caught our attention to play it too as it's hard to make people laugh that hard!

Orbitoor by omnes ludos 2020-10-23T20:00:14Z

I like that you went the hard way an implemented everything from scratch in C and that made the size of the executable is just 119 KB!!

The mechanics reminds me of Kerbal Space Program, which is one of my favorite games. I like a lot of this game, and as I admire that you used C and wrote everything from scratch, I think it was harder for you to make more polishing and implement more stuff than if you used a game engine or framework that would make finishing the game a lot easier.

You made a good game, good job :joystick:

Grabby - The Ultimate Grabbinator by rucksack 2020-10-05T23:06:00Z

Nice game, amazing music and artwork, and surprising mechanics.

[while'd] by Celuloide 2020-10-26T09:13:33Z

A good game, like the idea behind it, and this is nicely done. Kudos to you. I wish controls were different, for example allowing the player to jump too if up arrow key is used, also would loved if the initial screen that shows the level loop could be skipped, as it takes a lot of time each time you die.

SORO BORO by nethead 2020-10-06T10:47:17Z

I like the art, the game feels a lot polished. It's a great game, but to make my comment useful, these 3 areas, I find needs improvements: - Alternative control as current controls make it even harder to play the game. - Hit boxes seems off, maybe they need to get decreased? - Kill and movement animation seems unresponsive.

Thanks for the good experience!

Aztec Ride by Idan Rooze 2020-10-20T22:59:53Z

The game graphics, animation, and sound are just brilliant! Loved a lot in this game, even the camera that a lot of people commented about. Well done!

Plague Friend's Deathly Journey by sakura_magika 2020-10-23T20:32:01Z

This was a strange little game (in a good way ) As I started playing I didn't feel any time, and just got lost into it. Good concept and story, and with more polishing this could be something.

UPDATE: I just discovered that the graphics was not shown correctly in Firefox!! and I just played it like that and I really enjoyed it! (that tell how catchy your game is) I noticed that when I was rating your game, then I saw the screenshots, which were so different of what I have played, so I switched to chrome, and oh boy! that a beautiful looking game

LD49 — Unstable

Unstable Concoction by theviraldragon 2021-10-05T14:37:43Z

Nice Game you have here. I like the art design and the concept. I wish if the discovered recipes are saved so I can know if I've already created that or not. Also sold potions are not disappearing. Liked it so much! Thanks for creating it.

🌎 Planet Unstable - The Law of Balance by Stefan B. 2021-10-06T08:36:54Z

@pennycook thanks for your feedback  Linux build is on plan, will let you know once it's published.

I can't remember by chesiq 2021-10-05T11:15:20Z

That's a scary game, specially that red ghost. Jumping is a bit short and floaty. I didn't know what to do exactly to finish the game but I like the world design and graphics. Good job 👍

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Decaedia by arzi 2022-10-06T20:51:51Z

The game has a good premise, I wished I got guided toward the fun more. Opening the game I was completely stunned by how beautiful the art is, and then noticing the music made me stop to just listen!

After my first fight I didn't know what to do, and I got into lengthy conversations that I wished were shorter and to the point, and I didn't face any other fight despite moving what I believe the whole map.

Other than that, I think this is a solid entry that deserve recognition. Keep doing games!

Cook'n'Slash! by Nikolay Zapolnov 2022-10-05T14:07:01Z

Hard to eat tomatoes after this :joy: Impressive what you have been able to achieve in such short amount of time.

It was frustrating sometimes picking with the fork, I wished if the aim was more forgiving. Other than that, it was fun playing your game

Sonar by erikiene 2022-10-05T00:00:52Z

Impressive game, the visuals and animation are stunning. It was hard to get my mind around it in the beginning. It's not easy to get the difference between the drop area and the HUD we have around the submarine. The mechanic around the upgrades has a room of improvement. Good entry

TenReaper by digitaldude555 2022-10-05T16:03:21Z

I am wondering how cool this game would be in mobile, the control is smooth and implemented well even when using the mouse. The music is epic :v:

My feedback would be to improve this game page, your game deserve more recognition and not having screenshots, GIFs, and more details here hurt the possibility of people actually plying the game.

Other than that, it's a good one :100:

[HTML5] The Struggle by Vilmantas 2022-10-05T16:22:36Z

This is amazing! innovative concept and fun gameplay. I've enjoyed it so much.

I don't know if this was an issue from my side but I wished if there was a music, sound effects, and audio cues for when Dimitry is sleeping. This game would've been in another level with the sound.

Another one that I feel the deposit area is not well defined, it's challenging to find a good spot, and annoying when you are right there with the time almost zero but can't deposit.

Other than that, it's a very fun game :100:

They hate each other ! by Kaimon 2022-10-05T14:17:53Z

It was fun! Nice graphics and music. Would have been even better: - Larger hit box when picking dogs and cats as it was hard to pick them. - Release dogs and cats on button release. I made mistakes where I moved cats to dogs space but still holding the LMB.

Other than that, it's a good one

[X-ED OUT] by Nash 2022-10-05T16:51:32Z

Super fun game!!! I managed to clear 6 waves (not so impressive ) We thought about similar concept for our tower defense game, to give the player the ability to move every 10 seconds to collect resources. Which then we changed to be always on move but powerless drone (with a catch ). I like how you implemented this concept. I think you implemented it better than what we would have done.

My only feedback would be that I wish if the player can move faster, or can gain the ability to move faster. Now, a good strategy is to kill a portion of the wave when they are very close to the turret, so you don't have to walk a lot collecting it, in the same time it's very hard to achieve. I wished that I got rewarded clearing them early more than taking the risk of leaving them come close.

Other than that, it's a good game. I will bookmark it for sure to come back and play it

The Diamond Heist by Antsa 2022-10-05T00:13:00Z

Nice game, I like the run based element allowing me to breath and think my next step. Good level design and it get progressively harder. The tutorial level and text placement done good as well.

Sir CaffeineALot by Neisha 2022-10-06T12:23:25Z

Speedrunning is hard for me, although I admit in this game it was addicting. The movement felt not as smooth as I hoped, specially when time is critical. I find it also wasn't clear which each NPC want from the icon hovering on top. It's interesting take on the theme.

Other than that, the game is stunning! The game art and sound are beautiful. The game feels polished. It was smart adding the speed boost every replay. I like it and please keep making games! :rocket:

Drone TD by Stefan B. 2022-10-06T12:30:59Z

@okshirl thank you for your feedback! That's true, we wanted to add the exploration aspect and hoped we can make the map more interesting to explore, and make it memorable where each area have a distinct feature i.e The lake area, the muddy roads, ...etc. We didn't achieve this completely with the time we had a mini-map or an arrow are for sure needed additions

Drone TD by Stefan B. 2022-10-06T17:20:34Z

@gordienkogames can you share more please where did this error show?

Drone TD by Stefan B. 2022-10-06T18:07:08Z

@gordienkogames interesting, I am trying to replicate this. I've tested on Firefox 105 and it works, also we are using WebGL (not WebGL 2.0) which is supported by older browsers in the case of Firefox it's supported since [Firefox 4 (Mar, 2011)](https://caniuse.com/webgl)

Curious to know what causes this. If you have more details that would be great!

as @stefan-b mentioned here's the web version hosted separately: https://share.neugelb.com/ld51/

Hope chrome or the hosted version works for you better!

Let Them Eat Cake by JacobRutter 2022-10-04T23:47:50Z

The sound design is good. I like the color palette used for assets. Lovely to look at definitely.

I wished if the meat and coffee have been more frequent though, it become impossible at the end to win without the speed boost which I didn't collect any so far

Another thing I wished I had is the web version (hosted here or on Itch.io) running games is far easier when it's hosted on the web than having to download it. I understand your wish to not receive feedback regarding the frame rate drop but sharing a warning regarding that while also providing web version and the desktop would be sufficient and for me at least I wouldn't have affected the rating.

Other than that, this was good

Let Them Eat Cake by JacobRutter 2022-10-05T00:03:47Z

Thanks @jacobrutter for sharing more details. Good idea though regarding the controlling the spawn and not leaving it completely random. Would definitely get inspiration from

Temple of Harmony by yulotomorrow 2022-10-05T17:11:44Z

It's very challenging for me to play this game. I didn't understand how to get the right bar, is it with hearing only? or visual clues also. The positions of the statuses was annoying, it's hard already for me

It was super impressive though, the art style is gorgeous, and the music is fantastic. I like that you made a series out of it, and for sure looking forward to play your entry on the next LD :100:

Timeslime by asbjorn 2022-10-06T20:59:50Z

Interesting concept but very hard to play. I was fighting my past self the whole time (which is the main mechanic of the game which I like), It's just hard to strategize the movements as there's no other information we can base decisions on. The visuals are great, and the music is super good. Good concept for sure and I've enjoyed it.

LD54 — Limited Space

Desktop Madness by DodoIta 2023-10-03T11:49:27Z

This game is a fantastic interpretation of the theme. The concept of quickly backing up files by dragging and dropping them before the screen fills up is both creative and engaging. It truly encapsulates the essence of the theme, making players acutely aware of the constraints they face. The frantic pace of the game adds to the excitement, and the intuitive mechanics make it easy to pick up and play. It's a thrilling challenge that keeps you on your toes. Kudos for delivering such a fun and thematically relevant experience! The music is a (chef kiss)

Sunfarers by Tim Leach 2023-10-03T11:44:41Z

This jam entry is truly commendable, as it skillfully adheres to the theme while providing an enjoyable gaming experience. As you progress through the game, it becomes increasingly evident just how crucial your placement decisions are and how constrained the available space truly is. This aspect of the game added an extra layer of enjoyment for me, as it compelled me to think strategically and adapt to the challenging circumstances. Well done!

FELL OUT by daveranan 2023-10-09T12:29:52Z

The art style is unique, good job on that! The game is fairly polished and reminds me a lot of Animal Crossing as well. I wished exploring with the boat was more enjoyable as I got lost a lot, would have been great to include a map the reveal explored islands and point of interest. Overall, a good game and great submission to the jam.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Blobs III by pschichtel 2024-10-09T21:19:01Z

Nice game! It felt great being the largest blob. I just wished the AI offered a bit more of a challenge, but overall, I really enjoyed playing it.

Combo Critters by benjamin 2024-10-09T09:41:07Z

The game is really polished: the animation, sound, and overall execution are excellent! My only minor issue was the font, as it was a bit hard to read. Overall, though, this is a solid entry!

Among The Deep by Langotriel 2024-10-09T20:58:29Z

This game really surprised me with its high level of polish. The voice acting is top-notch, and the music, along with the emotions it evokes, makes it truly memorable. Great job on creating this!

Fig the Fox by Rodgems 2024-10-08T19:42:13Z

The music was fantastic, and the concept is solid—overall, it was really fun to play! My only issue was with the platform jumping, which felt unforgiving. I’d recommend adding 'coyote time' to make the jumps more forgiving. I think it would greatly improve the overall experience. Overall, good work, that's a solid entry!

Ratrace by Malte Hedenstrom 2024-10-08T19:18:34Z

Really innovative idea! I loved the bullet time effect when the cats get evicted, great touch. If I could suggest any improvements, it would be the lighting, as the game feels a bit too dark at times. Also, adding more destructible objects would help keep the room from feeling empty, especially when so many cats are spawned.

Creature's Place by vjta088x 2024-10-08T19:56:02Z

As a lover of Sudoku I approve this game :D It’s a great concept and was fun to play. I wished there was sound effects though to enrich the experience. Overall, a solid entry to the jam!

The Ritual by krit1k 2024-10-08T19:26:54Z

an interesting concept, fighting is little hard, I was afraid most of the time to fight and went into hiding, good thing we don't have to restart from the beginning when we die. One improvement I would suggest is to pause the game when reading notes, as I got killed many times because of that.

Laverino by Kirass 2024-10-10T19:28:53Z

It was tough to find the last two toys, but I enjoyed the experience and was relieved I didn’t have to face the nanny during my playthrough! The only issues I had were the controls, which felt laggy and slow, and they didn’t provide enough feedback. Other than that, it’s a solid entry!

Leafling builders by Kotolazer 2024-10-10T20:07:20Z

Chill and relaxing game! I really liked the art style and the atmosphere you created. I just wish there was more to do beyond the leaves, as the world feels so welcoming and warm. Overall, great game!

Memzzle by GrUt607 2024-10-08T19:34:04Z

The hidden platforms are a clever idea, and I really enjoyed the concept! However, I couldn’t make the last jump despite trying all the sizes, I’m not sure what I might be missing. Overall, I loved the idea, and with more time, I’m sure it could turn into a masterpiece.

Little Chef by DERRIXX 2024-10-08T19:51:29Z

Controlling the hands is an innovative and fun concept, though it’s definitely challenging! I really liked the idea. The only issue I encountered was a bug where the grip seemed off by a large margin, making it tough to grab the vegetables and knife. Overall, this is a solid entry!
