Yeet them all ! by zoglu 2024-10-10T19:49:31Z

Man, you should rate the other projects, it will make your game more visible on the website, this is how the Ludum works. And you're game is just awesome. I mean I can't find much defect to it. It's beautful, easy to learn, fun, accessible (only mouse), polished, AND the audio is not annoying. Dude, your project is one of the best I've seen so far, and it's not visible. It's a shame, make the people come and play it ! The only few things that could have been better is the reactivity of the move after you clicked, and the fact that I WANT MORE LEVELS !!!

Congratulations dude, excellent game.

Oh also... THE FEVER MODE is just great. And that's nice that you don't tell anything about it (if I remember well ^^), because I got positively surprised haha

ArachnoNinja by ildfuglen 2024-10-08T22:48:38Z

I found it too punitive and couldn't pass through a level.

YET, it's the best game and the most polished game on all aspects I've played so far. Congratulations, the graphics are stunning, and you nailed the feedbacks. The feeling of the slash is so great. The atmosphere is awesome with good SFX and a nice music. The fake god rays are beautiful and useful at the same time. The concept itself is not revolutionnary, yet it's well executed. I only wish, as I said above, that the game could be slightly less punitive, like being able to take one hit before dying. That would be enough. Other than that, the controller is smooth and the animations too. Honestly this is a really great work. Congratulations to the team ;)

Tic Tac Trillion by Levi 2024-10-07T17:34:16Z

Honestly, this is a really great game. I myself made a grid game, I love them. I don't know if it's an original concept or not but it's super cool. It took me a few moments to figure out how shapes mattered and were wroking but then it was all good. I think the colors and overall UX could be improved, as it can easily gets a bit messy. I don't know if I have found all the shapes, but I'm not against the fact that it's hidden from the player, it reminds me of Conway's Game Of Life. The AI seems to play random moves and is easy to beat in both mode, but I really appreciate that you made your game accessible to singleplayer. Good job !

SniffMon by qiqiqi 2024-10-07T17:10:37Z

Hey loco, I discovered your game thanks to the review you put on mine ! After getting a bit confused at first I found it very fun to play, and the bit of humor you put here and there was really nice (the wrong colors seen by one of them was excellent). I appreciate the effort put on sliced fruits to trick us as well hahaha. It lacks of polish on some parts (bonus selection UI for example), and the zoomed view was not useful to me, but these are details.

Overall I enjoyed the moment, the concept is innovative and all the kitschy stuff are great

Petri Wars by ConradoClark 2024-10-09T21:59:43Z

Hey @conradoclark ! I loved your game, for real it's on of the best compos I played so far. It's simple it doesn't need much explanation yet we can easily see a lot of strategies from where the enemies are coming and thanks to the placement on the grid. I love grid games, I made one myself this year. It's always so satisfying to put things up the way you want to. Unfortunately I had a frozen game during Wave 4, it's a bit frustrating :'( Other than that, the graphics are great, it really looks like a high quality flash game from back in the time. The audio also fits well with the general ambiance. The mechanics and interactions are logic and nice, though it would have been great to make something more useful with the fundations, like upgrading them to make them a bit more useful than being shields haha. I really think it's the kind of game that deserves a scaled version ! If you think about it let me know, it's a super project. Well done !

Tiny With Power by filgreen3 2024-10-07T17:54:01Z

The graphics are super cool, the concept really simple yet very effective. It's polished. Nice job.

It lacks a bit of UX, like swapping two modules together, better explanations on directional modules, and having an onboarding in-game. I also encountered a bug that fully froze the game definitely in the WebGL build.

Other than that the goal is explicit and the game well executed.

ABDUCKTOR by Raivk 2024-10-10T23:32:08Z

Je viens après avoir vu @donhadryel jouer à mon jeu en stream. Bravo pour votre jeu, il est quasiment parfait.

I'll continue in English for the others. So, first of all, ducks are awesome so it's already a good start. The cozy little diorama views with high quality minimalist graphics and some post process on top are just the perfect combo. BUT ABOVE ALL, the feedbacks, everytime, everywhere, thank you. I don't know if you made that up with DOTween, FEEL or good old lerps, but everything is so smooth and feels good. Even the useless things, like the colored windows making a chill sound or the towels, are fun. On top of that, all the little references here and there are just great and mgive you the constant will to find out what will be the next one (big up to Duck Judy from Quacklyn 99). In addition to this, the music and the SFX are nice, and the UI is really polished. The gameplay itself now is simple, a hide and seek. Yet you made it more fun with special interactions (in the toilets for example, or with the combo in the living room). That said, I find it a quite too easy and it could have been more challengy, because sometimes half of the ducks are visible on the first sight. Make me move the camera a bit haha. I didn't have any trouble navigating through the rooms, and finding by myself the mystery one (thanks to the UI ofc). Nevertheless, it could have been nice to have an indication to get back to the bathroom to unlock the new rooms at the end of the "first part".

And I wannted to finish on one special thing which is : The pick-up feedback. Honestly I don't care anymore if a game is trash or not, if I have a feedback like this one, I can play for hours. The amount of juiciness is crazy.

I'm in the Compo category this year, so of course, it's normal that it is more polished/complete than most of the games of my category, but, let's be honest and I'm not exagerating : In my opinion, this has the potential to be one of (or the) best scores at the end of the ratings.

5/5 everywhere except for Innovation and Theme 4.5/5

I think I should finish on something really bad I said too many positive things : This is absolutely disgusting that there is no VR and multiplayer mode <:O)

Flea Patrol by Sviborg 2024-10-08T17:18:49Z

Hey @sviborg, nice little game we have here ! I like the childish hand-drawing look of the game, it makes it really cute. The game is simple, there's an onboarding and a bit of chaos. I think you could have been even more creative on the level design, because there are tons of things you can do with your mechanic. Sometimes I felt some levels were really similar. Though, I still liked bullying this poor wolf packing all my bugs and throwing them all at once on him hahaha. The music is nice, but a bit too repetitive for me after a while as the loop is quite short.

Overall a cute game with a straightforward idea that I liked ;)

Monster Strike by COKE 2024-10-07T18:06:57Z

First of all nice job for your work. I liked the art style, even though it's minimalist, it's well executed and we understand things quite easily. The game doesn't need any onboarding which is nice.

The two major issues I had that ruined a bit my experience were the really slow pace of the game. A huge demon that scares people is a nice idea, but it should give you the feel of power that, in my opinion, lacked here. And then, I don't know if it's due to a memory leak somewhere, but the game becomes more and more laggy over time until it's no longer playable with the WebGL build (I have not tested the downloadable PC version)

My Tiny Cubic Creature by Rolly 2024-10-07T21:45:02Z

Considering the fact that you made this up in 7 hours, this is really cool ! Even though there's not much to play with. It's soooooo cute. The animations you took the time to make are awesome and make this little robot so adorable, even though he sometimes takes a huge shit on the floor. Petting him feels nice as well and the way he bounces when he moves is so fun. Other than that, it's not that I don't like juggling, but I would have liked to be able to shoot the ball in other directions (randomly, or depending on the point clicked on the ball).

Good job ;)

Tiny Creatures as Us by Foursay 2024-10-10T20:10:45Z

Definitely intriguing. It of course feels like a tiny Stanley Parable with blue paint instead of yellow. I can't say if I should feel depressed or not at the end of the speech that was really well written, good job for that. Overall a nice experience, and I like the fact that you sort of sticked to the theme an absolute different way than most of us. Well done.

PocketMen by Brookey1201 2024-10-10T18:38:32Z

Really good job for this game @brookey1201. I enjoyed the graphics, the amount of content, and above all the polished onboarding. Everything is very fun and innovative. I reached the end, it took me a while, but this is, for me, the main issue. At some point I lost a bit the fun and just wanted to complete the game. I think it would have been faster with a better UX on knowing what are the weaknesses of the pocket men without having to fight them. Because when you enter a fight, they split around in the background, so you lose track of them. Also, having an easier readability on cards would have been nice, like a glow or an outline on cards that can target the weakness. Sometimes, it's not always easy to spot the place to drop a pocket man as well, which is okay as the room is not that big, but can be a bit frustrating as the spot are not always that logic (at least for me), like the "inky" trait for a shirt (??). With all of the things I mentionned above you could make a faster pace game that is enjoyable from beginning to the end. Don't get me wrong though, I keep in mind that this is a jam and I loved your game, that's why I'm taking that time to give you these feedbacks. I wish you would like to go further with it cause it has great mechanics and a real potential. It's original and addictive !

It's a really high rating for me. Again, awesome work you did here.

Snow Flipper by nevercade 2024-10-08T23:43:52Z

Such a cute game @nevercade. The art is really awesome. The game is simple, fun, and relaxing. I loved it. Of course there's no much to do, bu I enjoyed chilling with my penguins friends. Sliding is such a good idea, it make every action cooler ! If there are fex improvement you can think of, I'd say, making the double jump consistent (because it is clunky and difficult to use) and making sure penguins have a big enough gap between them in order to select them easily when the ice is crowded ^^ Other than that, I enjoyed the moment and the polishing level of the game (animations, tooltips, inventory count...). Great work you made ! ;)

Nom by RNGames 2024-10-09T22:39:19Z

Really nice polished game. It drove me crazy I always wanted to reach a higher multiplicator ! I reached x512 hehehe ! The graphics are neat, extremely simple yet super polished, with nice particles and good feedback choices. The only thing I regret is that the controls are not what you expect from a shark (or whatever swimming). I wanted, like @woona to have a turn feeling, especially because the shape of the character you control leads you to think that it will turn. Anyway, still a really good rating for me, on this addictive little game supported by really nice ambiant sounds.

Tiny Skweek plays Breakout by Recher 2024-10-09T22:18:07Z

Hi, it's nice that you need to play as "the walls" in a brick breaker. I find the pace of the game a bit slow though, and I feel like it doesn't fit much with the theme "Tiny Creatures". Nevertheless, let's move on to the impressive part : You made the engine yourself, and for that a huge bravo. Good luck on your project, it's cool to do such a thing ;)

Immune Invasion by goldenXD 2024-10-07T22:02:57Z

Bloom, particles, feedbacks. The perfect combo to make an easy good looking game. It works well, especially with the theme you picked. The controller is cool, and the shoot feeling too. The DNA mini game to get a bonus is actually well found. It's true that the fact that we don't care about the colors can be weird at first, but then I got it. I would have loved to have definitive bonuses that get upgraded (instead of temporary) because, as it's quite difficult to get to green spots, if you can't find any, and you have no more time with your bonus, you can't escape the enemies and it can be frustrating. An other solution would have been to allow mutation while having a bonus.

Other than that I have nothing to say, I had fun with your game ;) Good job !

Tiny Galaxies by Gabriel Chan 2024-10-09T23:03:59Z

Great game, polished, fun, giving you the will to play multiple times. The difficulty curve rises slightly too fast for me but it was nice anyway. Audio is just enough to put you in the mood and is not too invasive. Graphics are honestly perfect. Like there's litteraly nothing to say about it. It's beautiful, clear, cute. Huge clap to the art team ! The different behaviours of the enemies are cool and unique. That said, ?/!#*!ing frogs hahaha I hate them, team Octopus here ! The only few improvements points I would say besides the difficulty curve above-mentionned, are making it clear what are the upgrades we unlock, because I often felt it was useless, and letting me move when I launch my grappling. Other than that, congrats team for this awesome game.

GELATINOUS INVADER SIMULATOR by Fint 2024-10-08T17:03:46Z

Hey @fint ! Nice job on your game ! The minimalist graphics work super well, the concept is simple yet deeper than what we can think. It's a nice little game we have here ;)

At first, because I forgot to read the instructions from the page, I got frustrated by jets. Then everything became better haha ! I like the fact that with one simple mechanic you made it so there's some strategies to discover. I would recommend two especially :

1/ Firing one blob to the tank then the whole corwd, to avoid losing too much.

2/ Let the soldiers come close to avoid long time for bullets to get back.

The game is fairly balanced for a quite a while then it becomes really difficult. I won't blame you on that, who spends hours on balancing the difficulty curve in a game jam ? ^^

So overall a good game, with finally some SFX that don't irritate me. If some stuff could be improved, I would say you could put a tiny UI display for the onboarding, and I would like a slightly faster pace, as sometimes the game gets a bit slow. These are small points.

Great work : Simple and effective.

(o o) by zimonitrome 2024-10-09T22:10:08Z

Ahhahah it's nice ! The ASCII change when you take damages is really cute ^^ It was difficult for me to play with my AZERTY keyboard (playing with ZQSD), but I still enjoyed, and made the awesome score of... 330... haha ! Not that good heh

Good job for you game ;)

Ladybird Samurai by ellaris 2024-10-08T18:16:20Z

I'll be fully honest, at first I got frustrated, not properly understanding why I couldn't slash sometimes. I tried more and more, then understood how it worked and got a nice surprise. I didn't get how all the upgrades work but definitely understand that you need to choose wisely to have 3 stars on some levels. And this is a nice thing. I also liked the minimalist art and the main menu which is simple yet fairly well made. Ofc you gave everything on the slash feedback and it works really well. The feeling is great ! Some levels could be slightly more original and different from the others but hey, it's already cool to have 12 levels in your game ! The Audio was not irritating for me, which is all I ask for hahaha so good job on that as well.

Overall a nice game !

ppl. Converter by Rezistor 2024-10-08T17:30:45Z

Hey @rezistor, good job with the sound design, it gives a really nice ambiance to your game. I found it a bit unfortunate that the temple is flat red, I would have liked to see more about it, with a lit shader. Other than that, not much to say as there is not much to do haha.

Ah and I forgot, buy me a new mouse please :') I reached 1000.

Inside Creatures Out: What is your gaming MBTI? by CatZP 2024-10-11T22:10:43Z

I had a lot of fun and your idea is really innovative. Nevertheless, I lost 30 seconds before the end, getting insta killed by 15 rockets launched at the same time. Fine, but like, how frustrating not to have the score shown at the end, like I was ecpecting so much to have sort of a recap of my questions. I mean at least you could put something like "85% accuracy of the test" to justify that I have not fully completed it :(

Anyway, other than that, it was really cool, nice graphics, mechanics and audio. A good rating for me. Good job to the team (and I like the game jam fear backstory behind haha)

Dance with the Sprites by Flewbimo 2024-10-08T16:37:24Z

Hey, first of all good job for your work. I like the concept and the glowy VFX in the dark, it's cool and fits well with the environment. You took the time to make a quite big map with different patterns in Level Design which is nice. Though, I think I would have liked it more if it was smaller but with a less clunky controller. Unfortunately, it's quite heavy to move around and it is not smooth (especially the jump), making it the real challenge when it should not come from this. The SFX are fine, but I couldn't understand the big "gong" for a while, as it lacks a bit of explanation. Also, maybe you should track the number of orbs/sprites you collect in UI, to make sure you never lack of (if I understood correctly, it's consumed everytime you press E, because at some point I ran out of light).

In any case, we can see the effort put into your game, especially in the Level Design. So nice job on that ;)

Quackling Rescue by Laywelin 2024-10-08T21:27:32Z

Hey @laywelin, je suis français aussi mais je te la fais en Anglais pour tout le monde ;) I discovered your game thanks to your review on mine. And I have to admit, this is the cutest game of the Ludum I've seen so far. It's so lovely how they follow you but always get distracted. Then you have to be a good dad-uck and bring them back with a good assertive quack ! I would love to see more levels with new mechanics that would bring more challenge, cause I feel there are a lot of things to do !

On the graphics part, it's a 5/5 for me. It's just so cool what you guys have done. The stickers style is just awesome and quite uncommon !

The controller is smooth and the feeling is great thanks to the see-through-walls shader and the animations. I would reduce a bit the head bobbing though, I found it a bit too much, but this is a detail.

Oh and I was about to forget ! The SFX are just perfect haha. Even though at the end you wanna volume it down a bit ^^

Really nice job to you guys !

Little Guys! by RamChops Games 2024-10-07T23:17:29Z

Hey @ramchops-games it's my turn to review your game ;)

First of all, the polish of the menus is the super cool, the tutorial is well explained and the graphics super cool. I love the music too, it fits the gameplay really well. However I turned off the SFX after 1 minute, it's fun but it gave me a headache hahaha

The amount of levels is nice, though I would have liked less levels but more balanced. I totally understand the ideas behind the last levels (bottom ones), but they are too difficult and sometimes too random. Actually my favorite one was EarthQuake as it keeps the whole pack in place but still shakes them just enough to create new groups ans this is interesting.

The gameplay itself is simple, effective and the tiny characters lovely (except the big red one, taking the whole space hahaha). The fact that their shape will obviously influence the gameplay is nice, you can build up your strategy around it. Long live the blue ones ! That said, I found quite frustrating the fact that the shapes are generated over time. I think the game is difficult enough without it. If you wanna have a positive ration and clear the board, yo need to pack up 4 guys. But to pack up 4 guys, you'll need to delete some that are on the way. So it will create more guys. That is okay if then you can make a huge pack or wait for a dynamic level to do it for you. But with the spawn over time, it's nearly impossible to clear the board and play as long as I want. It also makes the statistics panel useless because you don't have enough time to have a look at it. I would have liked to have some moments to breathe and feel proud about the clear I managed to get.

I think that a solution to increase difficulty over time would have been to increase, after a certain score, the amount spawned when you click on a pack. It would force you to manage your strategy around the upcoming shapes and eliminate them properly.

I think this point is the only problem for the gameplay along with some levels throwing away everything.

That said, I still found the gameplay addictive, played for a while, wanted to create huge packs, and wanted to try all the levels. Well done, well polished, nice audio, great graphics and a bit of humor in the level names.

Little Guys! by RamChops Games 2024-10-08T17:50:38Z

@ramchops-games To answer your question, the levels I found difficult were No OSHA, Football and of course Bottomless ;)

Shadowy Creatures by Setter 2024-10-09T21:39:20Z

Hey, nice job ! I like the innovative main idea of freezing your projectiles to jump on it. Though I find the projectile slightly too fast and this can lead to a bit of frustration sometimes. I think it would be better to slow it down a bit to make the player feel a bit more in control. I sort of found the pace at some point right lickcing just after the left click and got through thanks to this technique. Also I wish there was a bit more levels, it's a game I would have liked to see many other fun levels with it. You had a good idea with the level where you need to save on projectile for later, it was nice ! You could do really good things with this simple mechanic, and that's a good sign of a game with potential. The graphics are nice as well and the sounds are not irritating (which is a great thing for me hahaha). Overall, I have to admit it was a fun little experience ;) Good job for the work produced !

A Story of Steebs by BrotherBrody 2024-10-07T20:53:14Z

Hey dude ! It's really cool, I like the fact that you took the time to have a good feeling on the controller. I think there is sort of an area of control around the mouse or soemthing, it's well executed I have to admit. It's never frustrating when it could have been ! Also, you probably spent a lot of time on the Level Design, and it's nice, the levels are interesting.

The only few things I'd say that could be improved are the repetitiveness of actions in some levels and the graphics. With a bit of colors and simple decorations here and there, you can make it more attractive for almost no cost ;)

In any case, good job !

Tiny Heads by DashVirus 2024-10-07T22:32:15Z

Hey @ramchops-games thank you so much for your review and this long feedback, it's much appreciated.

First of all, you perfectly described all of the behaviours, congratulations ! There's just a small subtile one that you missed : Cats and dogs can face each other if there is a gap of 3 tiles or more between them.

All of the points you made above are really accurate and I thought about most of them and just unfortunately didn't have the time to implement them.

- The hint could be nice yes, though I still want the players to figure out the rules by themselves. So maybe a better step by step onboarding/tutorial ? - About the difficult mid level, I noticed after that a level is particularly difficult (chameleon, zombies, flies and a cat) due to the small amount of possible solutions. I should have ordered them differently. - I understand for the baby, it sometimes frustrated me as well, I implemented this just for fun and trolling the player haha. - The loop back is a bit clumsy I have to admit. As there is no way to get back to the main menu I quickly added this. I'm a bit lucky that the first level is the only one with 2x2 hahaha !

Thank you again for all the feedbacks, it's really constructive and positive !

Tiny Heads by DashVirus 2024-10-08T20:55:03Z

Thanks everyone for all the positive comments and constructive feedbacks, it's awesome !

@quintec Yeah you're definitely right ! For the chameleons "Happiness" and "Anger" are not as clear as for the others. In everyday life I'm a game developer so I'm not used to artists tools, I only can do a bit of pixel art ^^

@mechazawa You're right too ! I discovered after all that some levels especially the 4th or 5th were way more difficult than expected, I should have ordered them differently and add more "onboarding" levels in between ;) Also, guess what ? There's a small save system that keeps track of your level progression so you can go back on it later (with PC build only)

Tiny Heads by DashVirus 2024-10-08T22:29:43Z

@nevercade Thank you very much for your review :) It was the thing I didn't have the time to implement... :'( I wanted to have funky SFX, like cats "Meows" and dogs barks when you select them etc. If I continue the game I'll surely implement it. I'll keep you informed if you wanna see the progression !

Two Types Of Kids by upint 2024-10-08T23:13:07Z

Great game. I really like the fact that you can choose your gameplay being a good kid or a psychopath and either choice has a score. The feedbacks are awesome and the controller is really fun, smooth and original. Really nice job !
