"Well polished" would be an understatement here
I found all ducks in every room but was still missing 3 for some reason
Also the text goes to fast, a lot of the time I couldn't read it
Love the visual. Amazing game !
I found them all! The hidden duck in the library was tricky. Very chill, fun to interact with all the different objects.
Ah hah! Another Duck game! :D Lovely visuals and presentation here. A lot of polish in the art and audio. My biggest gripe is that I wanted to clear the "duck found" messages quicker. Other than that, lovely work!
@jetmarch @just-a-dev thanks for playing and for your feedbacks ! The lasts ducks are in the candle room, you had to solve the candle mistery to unlock it (was tricky I conceed)
Thanks @designernap for the comment and the feedback, it's greatly appreciated. Will totaly check your duck game, ducks are cool indeed.
Thanks @pekinanebula48 for the comment!
Your game is magnificent, the atmosphere is relaxing, I didn't know you could make such an incredible game in 3 days. The references mixed with the ducks add a nice touch of humour. I managed to find all the ducks! (I'd love to have your level one day ^^)
I loved the duck out of this game! The visuals are great and the ducks, while very chatty, sounded so fun and happy! Quack! :duck:
Je viens après avoir vu @donhadryel jouer à mon jeu en stream. Bravo pour votre jeu, il est quasiment parfait.
I'll continue in English for the others. So, first of all, ducks are awesome so it's already a good start. The cozy little diorama views with high quality minimalist graphics and some post process on top are just the perfect combo. BUT ABOVE ALL, the feedbacks, everytime, everywhere, thank you. I don't know if you made that up with DOTween, FEEL or good old lerps, but everything is so smooth and feels good. Even the useless things, like the colored windows making a chill sound or the towels, are fun. On top of that, all the little references here and there are just great and mgive you the constant will to find out what will be the next one (big up to Duck Judy from Quacklyn 99). In addition to this, the music and the SFX are nice, and the UI is really polished. The gameplay itself now is simple, a hide and seek. Yet you made it more fun with special interactions (in the toilets for example, or with the combo in the living room). That said, I find it a quite too easy and it could have been more challengy, because sometimes half of the ducks are visible on the first sight. Make me move the camera a bit haha. I didn't have any trouble navigating through the rooms, and finding by myself the mystery one (thanks to the UI ofc). Nevertheless, it could have been nice to have an indication to get back to the bathroom to unlock the new rooms at the end of the "first part".
And I wannted to finish on one special thing which is : The pick-up feedback. Honestly I don't care anymore if a game is trash or not, if I have a feedback like this one, I can play for hours. The amount of juiciness is crazy.
I'm in the Compo category this year, so of course, it's normal that it is more polished/complete than most of the games of my category, but, let's be honest and I'm not exagerating : In my opinion, this has the potential to be one of (or the) best scores at the end of the ratings.
5/5 everywhere except for Innovation and Theme 4.5/5
I think I should finish on something really bad I said too many positive things : This is absolutely disgusting that there is no VR and multiplayer mode <:O)
Great game, impressive for 3 days!
Managed to find all the ducks without using any hints! I think the duck placements in this game were well-tuned for the number of ducks. Most of them were quite easy, but there were a few that I spent a good chunk of time on.
In particular, the candle room seemed to me like the most interesting puzzle in the game. I noticed the lights and the candles and was wondering what their effect was, but the icon in the corner + more and more candles I discovered in multiple rooms led me to victory!
Interestingly, the last 3 ducks I had to find were the pinwheel-based one and plant-based one in the Terrace, and the hidden one in the Library.
I think my only real complaint with this game is the somewhat inconsistent interactivity. In particular, if something reacted when you moused-over it, that didn't necessarily mean it would interact when you clicked it, and vice-versa. This is why I missed the plant duck in the Terrace for a while -- I noticed that the plant moved when I moused over it, and I guess I just figured it was a visual effect like the windows that change colors. Another case is the lights in the Terrace and Library -- from what I can tell, there is absolutely nothing that can be accomplished by clicking them, but I think they're the only clickable thing in the game that doesn't result in progress.
I would have liked to be able to "look inside" various other things in the game. For example, in the Bedroom I really wanted to open up the other cabinets and drawers. I think that kind of thing would really make the game capture the sense of looking for something better. Of course, it would also make it more stressful, as looking for things in real life is not necessarily a fun experience, but interactivity tends to be fun in this kind of game, I think.
On that note I definitely really liked all the puzzles that required interaction! The duck in the toilet was one favorite--I was very confused why clicking on it didn't work, until I realized maybe I had to flush the toilet. The hidden duck in the library was cool, the candle puzzle was cool, the table in the Living Room was cool, etc. The musical windows were a lot of fun too! Despite my complaints I do think that the number of interactions in this game is pretty fun!
The only other nitpick I have is that I really would have liked to be able to click to exit the "duck found" screen (and also have it stay on screen when I want). That would have let me look at the more interesting ducks for exactly as long as I wanted while also getting back to the gameplay faster after seeing the "duck" ducks again--I almost always wanted to exit out of the screen a few seconds before it closed.
Still, that's a minor nitpick. Overall, this was a really polished entry, and quite fun to play through! Great job!
Very polished click and find adventure. Given more time, I think clicking found ducks to see their names again would be fun to replay the close-up fanfare. Showing their names at the bottom of the screen while hovering over could also work.
Very interesting mechanic design, easy to use, but also easy to addiction, unique gameplay is very attractive, the art is also unique, stylized 3d rendering, reasonable use and combination of assets, produce a unique chemical reaction, simple but also rich in details, excellent art design is greatly improved the playability.
