I made it 135 months. I feel like that's pretty good :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I like the simple, effective art style and I appreciate the subtle animations as well :) It helps a lot.

I made it 135 months. I feel like that's pretty good :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I like the simple, effective art style and I appreciate the subtle animations as well :) It helps a lot.
Nothing short of a fantastic entry. I am actually intrigued by the concept. It is such a wonderful blend of puzzle and strategy that I haven't personally seen before. Top marks for innovation for sure.
The music was good, the sounds were decent and the presentation was good! The game itself has no end so with that in mind, I think the balance was about right and I got about 3700 points on my best run (third try).
It isn't always easy to know why I can't upgrade certain things in the lab, despite having the required resources. Maybe I need some other upgrades first (Seems to be the case) or the cost is different from the cost that is displayed.
I honestly think this is one of the most solid LD entries I have played (so out of about 100 LD games). It is probably my favourite puzzle game from any LD.
Ayy, a fellow strategy game!
I played it and beat it on the first try and then beat my time by about 20 seconds the next try :D I had luck with spamming low cost units and never got to see where tankier units would be optimal but still, I enjoyed the art style, the music was fitting and the sfx were serviceable. I would like to have a little bit more context for what the units excel at, rather than guess but I understand how lack of time would result in some cuts (I can relate).
A thing I would alter is how zoomed in it is. I couldn't see the bottom part of the screen due to GUI and couldn't find a way to move the camera or anything. It would be nice to see the entire, beautiful map!
I'm glad I got to play & rate this <3
I don't know whether or not you guys are aware of how well designed your game actually is. This is brilliant and let me tell you why.
Your mechanics work extremely (and I mean extremely) well together. The act of clicking and dragging increases in difficulty as the food piles up because it gets harder and harder to prevent food from flying (which gets you a time penalty), creating more and more challenge over the course of the game. On top of that, you re-purpose the mouse for digestion in a simple but genius way: hovering. Why is this genius? Well, since you have plenty of stomach space and a timer ticking down, the game becomes an act of knowing when to stop eating and when to start digesting. The more you eat, the more efficient the hover mechanic becomes because it digests more food on a single pass of the mouse.
So from start to finish, here is the gameplay loop: You scramble to eat as much as possible, becoming ever aware and affected by the pile of food and making sure not to accidentally toss some of it away as it gives a time penalty. At some point, you realize the timer is at about 20-40 seconds and your stomach is about half full. To continue eating would be a waste and so you move on to the act of digesting the food by hovering your mouse over the food in your stomach and intestines. The more food you managed to eat by this point in the game, the more efficient the hover mechanic is.
When is the best time to stop eating? How careful should one be with the process of stuffing one's face? These are surprisingly engaging challenges created by this game and its mechanics, and honestly, it is nothing short of a Ludum Dare masterpiece. THIS is what elegant design is!
As a designer, I am honestly impressed and since it can sometimes be difficult to realize how good something you have made is, I wanted to spell it out for you as best I could.
It is a shame that proper implementation of the theme (like cutting the stomach space in half) would undermine the elegant design as it would no longer be up to the player to deduce when the optimal time to stop eating is, but rather a matter of necessity. However, I am so glad that you didn't let the theme get in the way of great design!
Solid entry and it saddens me to see the lack of votes on this game at the point of writing this. I hope you make it past the threshold needed to get on the scoreboard.
The art direction is splendid, the atmosphere is good and honestly, the scope itself deserves some commendation; it is easy to go too big or too small in LD, this seems just right from both a dev side and player side (something we might have needed to tweak for our entry :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: )
I enjoyed the game and felt like I did reasonably well. I do wish the tasks were slightly reworked so that it would say something like: "Reach 200 living spaces (35 remaining)" instead of just create 35 apartments. It would feel like more of a milestone and personally, I feel the more info you can give me in a game like this, the better. That won't dock any points, though, don't worry ;)
I thought the GUI was pleasant and generally easy to use, which is excellent!
Glad to have had the chance to play and rate your game <3
You deserve high praise for a simple tutorial for what seemed at first like a relatively complex LD entry. I also especially appreciated the visuals; they remind of the old Escape Velocity games
Good work!
This was a pretty neat little experience. It was pretty easy, even without all the tower slots filled I managed to win XD
I do miss sound effects and music, being a sound guy myself but the gameplay was certainly fun enough for me to give it another go to see if I could do better the second time, which is a good sign. Spoiler: I totally destroyed the second time around and the boss didn't even get halfway :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
Overall I am glad I played it and of course I rated it :)
Hope you have a nice day, both of you!
The game was intuitive and I understood what to do pretty much immediately. It was fun to hear all the elements come together. The levels were a little easy for my liking but hey, that's better than too hard :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Well done!
@bizbud Thanks for playing the game <3
The bit about the recurring "found a note" dialogue is something I was aware of when writing but, without a system that knows if you have picked up notes before, it isn't easily avoided. To mitigate the issue, I had slightly different narrator dialogue for each note but, I would have liked to have the dialogue change based on notes you had found previously. However, it was outside the already large scope of this LD entry.
If this ever is made into a full game, it is something I would change, for sure.
This game is actually pretty fun. I just had one problem.
I was trying to sneak around, but I was dummy thicc and the clinks of my coins were alerting the guards!
In all seriousness, this was one of the more fun entries so far! Great job! :D
I am beyond impressed with the fact that you made all the propulsion upgrades fit all the different hulls! I LOVE that attention to detail! I think this game would be perfect as a sort of mini-game in a game about Death and his work; sort of like a documentary on death as an individual. He could be talking about his day and what he does and this game would slot in nicely. "so anyway, this is some of what I do. It's simple work but it's honest work" - Death. I do miss some music and sound effects, though. You definitely deserve a good sound crew for your next project to really bring it to life (or bring it to death, as the case may be). Well done!
The Coppersmith must have taken my lungs for I am short of breath. This has to be the most engrossing experience I have ever had playing an LD game. I have a system for rating that put this at a 4.5 but I couldn't let that last half slip so you got a 5 overall. Fucking stunning work.
My favourite interaction is that with the warrior. He had no abode for the Coppersmith to enter and yet the smith still said "I am coming in". I loved that moment so much because it says such a lot about the respect the Coppersmith has for his work and the people he interacts with, despite the gruesome affair that it is. He gave the warrior the same treatment, regardless of home. Such a memorable moment.
Thank you so much for making this!
One of the most enjoyable games I have played so far :) I think the strain of humour running through the game was fantastic as well <3
As soon as I heard that horn sound, I actually laughed out loud. I'm a sucker for good humour in LD. Good job! :D
Solid little entry! The menu looks really nice :D (I appreciate a good menu). I also really liked the music. The whole thing came together well and felt very late 80's early 90's.
This game has one of the nicer menus that I have seen this Ludum dare. It's cool to see some attention being put into a unique main menu instead of just simple buttons on boring backgrounds. It's sort of an overlooked part of games in LD. Well done <3
Someone needs to give the artist a kiss from me cause the visuals are beautiful and the choice of music goes well with it to create a good mood!
One of the more fun entries so far and the visuals are pretty impressive considering the short timespan. Well done! I especially liked seeing the enemies fly back when I shot them in the face :D
"FORWARD! RIGHT! RIGHT! RIGHT! SHOOT! LEFT!..." - me while playing this game.
A pleasant little experience. I do miss sound effects but otherwise, well done! :)
Really interesting and unique mechanic. Putting yourself into nothing and coming back out somewhere else tickles the brain :P
Always happy to see games implement voice acting and it was put to very good use here! The game was humorous, fun to play, looked decent and sounded good! High marks. Well done!
I gotta say, this was a pretty creative approach for this theme. Solid entry!
I selected the soviets, put the soviet theme on in the background and I think it stands to the game's credit that the immersion was unmatched. It also reveals what I would try to add in an update: music.
I thought the mechanics were conceptually interesting and I loved the fact that your recruits have names; it makes it feel more personal. Fantastic work <3
First of all, my name is Ben so that's rad. Second, I love the physical humour of getting tossed out of the house; genuinely got a laugh out of me :P Good job!
All-round well made and polish entry. I wish the waves got bigger but I suppose all that would do is mean I get my ass kicked. Well done! :D
This is among the best and probably the most interesting entry I have tried so far. I really appreciated the clever use of sound and the animation of putting the space suit on. There is a level of polish here that deserves to be commended.
I fucking loved the references. Humour is needed in more LD games :D
Loved the creepy atmosphere you had going on. The fade was a super interesting detail and it was a really good interpretation of the theme! Wonderful entry!
If there is anything rude here it's that darn crow. Who does he think he is? I am just trying to feed my cute bear and it's messing with my shit!
Anyway, this game was pretty clever, had fun animations, was a breath of fresh air in terms of concept/execution (something different done well) and was just fun to play. Look forward to the next Rude Bear! :D
One of the best looking games this LD and paired with the audio it creates a really engrossing atmosphere. Also found the boss attack becoming sword hp to be an interesting mechanic. Solid work!
Who would have thought that a literal forest fire being fed by a zombie would be relaxing? :D
I appreciate the progressively fatter flame art and the zooming out to make it more comfortable to play as it progressed. Honestly, I think this game did a lot right and nothing strictly wrong. Just a great entry!
Glad to have played it :)
@solweak Thanks a lot for the kind feedback! We tried to make the game not too difficult because we want people to experience the game in full. We plan on making a post jam version with some of the stuff that didnβt make it in, if we find the time!
Where to start  The art direction was fantastic. The original textures, the amount of detail, the overall visual package: all really well done!
On top of that, the auditory space created by the chaos of sounds alongside the calming jazz was wonderful in its own right.
A quick replay feature is also pretty genius and encourages retrying, which I did many times to figure out how to make red lights go green and stop the horrible sirens XD
Well done! It's a great entry!
I like the clean and effective pixel art, and I think the choice of audio goes well with it to create an eerie atmosphere; well done there.
I unfortunately couldn't save him in the end :disappointed: But I tried
I gotta be honest: I spent most of my time dancing on the dance floor. I feel like that's where I excel at keeping the party alive, but maybe it wasn't smart to spend so much time there
I appreciate the simple but well executed art style and the faithful interpretation of the theme!
Really good entry!
Genuinely got scared shitless when ***it*** happened. Still, only a few sacrifices were made. Solid entry! :D
At first I didn't know what to expect but then BOOM, platformer where I continue my quest. My intrigue for sure spiked at that moment. It's really interesting that you mixed 2 very different types of gameplay together, all in the effort of reaching the same goal. It's also interesting that it somehow gave a plant a personality.
The animation was also really well done and I thought the character design was pretty clever :)
Very interesting and solid entry! I look forward to more LD projects from you!
Among the best art I have seen so far, and one of the most polished experiences. You should be proud! Good use of the theme, as well; there ain't nothing getting to my plant :sunflower: :sunglasses:
I tried over and over but couldn't quite succeed in my mission :( Still, the sounds were wonderful, the visuals were fantastic and there is quite a lot of meat here for an LD entry, so be proud of that!
If it's the kind of project you were thinking of building on, have my blessing :P It would be neat to play an expanded version!
I'm gonna say it; this is the most well designed game of the 30 I have played so far. You can see what the demon needs from the potion room and you can toss items from upstairs into the pot! You have clearly thought through the layout. On top of that, you allow the player to familiarize themselves with the environment and item placements by starting with simple tasks before introducing potion brewing.
I loved the menu screen as well. Likely the best menu screen this LD, complete with camera movements and clever associations for each word (quit is a pit for example).
The visuals were really clean and effective and were wonderful to explore! Combined with the music, it created a really suitable atmosphere.
Straight up, this was extremely well put together and you should be proud as hell. It was a joy to play.
This is so far the best interpretation of the theme that I have come across. The timing of the different needs (drink, food, music) was satisfying as well and I managed to get into a proper rhythm. Awesome work!
I can't tell you how refreshing it is to have reliable controls in a ludum dare entry :P It's often the case that even the simplest entries have confusing control schemes and floaty character movement. You basically nailed that aspect.
And as far as programmer art goes, this is pretty consistent and inoffensive. I'd rather have this 10 times out of 10 than bad "good" art which has lots of inconsistency and takes away from gameplay, so well done in keeping the right focus!
Solid entry!
Holy shitballs, I got scared. Like, I actually got scared consistently and was scared to move around so well-freaking-done on creating a game that nailed the terror aspect.
The controls were intuitive and just limited enough to make the experience even more scary. Honestly, the game is just incredibly well designed and is among the best I have played in this jam.
Awesome entry! MAKE A FULL GAME! I could also help with supplying voice actors if you need them cause god damn, this was interesting.
Really clean looking art style that is well executed! Also impressed by the music you made, kudos to the composer (that should be a band name :P )
I managed to win! I guess I rock :sunglasses: and so does the game!
Thanks for making it!
This game was funny as hell. "Avocado toast is why millennials can't afford houses" or whatever the line was has to be the favourite XD
I guess this is why we should all remain in Karentine (ba dum tss).
God. Damn. HILARIOUS. I loved how they always disagreed. I loved how you tutorialized through silly super obvious story context. I love the art. I love pretty much everything it featured XD
Thanks a ton for making it!
This might be the first game where I can moonwalk to use my weapon effectively and that's pretty neat :P On the topic of Michael Jackson, I found the atmosphere to be kinda creepy, but liked the music!
Solid entry. Hope to see you next ludum dare!
I've got to hand it to you, the combination of stunning pixel art, effects and gloomy music is really effective. Solid entry for sure!
Yes! I beat the ice boss of blue balls with the fire from my heart-uh.. from my fire. The music on the second stage was pretty bumpin, too so good choice with that ;) Reminded me of some tracks from the old Boom game (Mac os cross over of Doom and bomberman... I'm old).
Well done on the entry!
I knew it. This is what chickens REALLY sound like!
Well done on making a game with simple controls that still presented unique challenges that fit well within the spirit of the theme! A lot of games I have played have not fared as well, unfortunately
Go chicken, GO!
The cute blob children MUST BE SAVED! ... Well I saved a few, anyway  Gotta make some sacrifices; after all, is that not what Ludum Dare is about?
Well done on the entry! I see it is your first time in LD. Welcome! Hope to see you in future LDs as well!
This is one of the most charming entries I have played so far! I love the animations and the fun characters!
The gameplay was mildly challenging, but not too hard so I got to finish on the first try; perfect for LD. It's a really good all-round package you've made here! Thank you for making it!
Feed the carrot to the turtle. Got it. Feed .. my lunch? to the rat.. ok.. Dice the meat for the mini-bear? So now I'm a chef :cooking:  A hungry chef who doesn't get to eat. I'm starting to think I am getting a raw deal in this lab; there better be health insurance.
Jokes aside, I think the visuals are good. I always like consistent, well made pixel art in LD games! I also appreciate the ramping of difficulty and the story elements thrown in (I'm a sucker for story). Really well done! :)
Dude. I loved the humour and although I didn't make it past the first large group of enemies (damn archers) even after 2 attempts, I saw what I needed to see.
Yeah, it's simple visually but it was funny as hell and a joy to play. I see it is your first entry as well and it's honestly a pretty good first entry! If you want to add voice acting in the future, hit me up and I will see if I can dedicate some time to it (the first day of LD is usually pretty empty for me anyway)
I look forward to your next LD entry!
I hit publish twice and created an empty comment... ignore this
Hey, look at that! An actually intriguing game. I liked a lot about this entry so I'm gonna break it all down :)
1. The game is enjoyable. There is no unnecessary bloat bringing it down. It's a puzzle game that relies on the player to do things in the right order and at the right time. I managed to crash my trains together a couple of times before figuring out what trains to prioritize first. In the end, I WON :D So now I can control real trains, right?
2. The design is solid. I mean it! Stuff like the speed up button is not just a convenient feature that deserves commendation for the foresight of the developer. It also, by its mere existence, hints at the fact that timing is a crucial factor to consider and so it is teaching the player without explicitly teaching, leaving the player to feel smart. I love little things like that.
If you ever consider making it into a full experience, it would be fun with additional stops for each train, so they would have to weave in and out of different tracks (for example, drop off cargo first, then move to another circle to get to the station).
Overall, I really liked it, played it to completion and I congratulate you on the well designed, simple puzzle game!
I managed to escape :sunglasses:
Really well done. It's hard to believe this was all made by 1 individual. The setting, the story, the atmosphere; all top notch. You should be damn proud of your work.
Easy 5 star for an incredible compo.
Loved it. Super impressive for a compo. Maybe I am high but did the music also get more intense and adventurous when I cut the ribbon on different occasions? Cause I think that happened and it is a really creative use of music and really ups the sense of adventure. Great for mood.
I also really liked the humor in the orc becoming friendly after a stab in the heart :P violence makes everyone reasonable :nerd:
Really good entry and like I said, impressive compo. Easy 5.
Many games aren't exactly fair with their challenge but this game gave me full control to deal with what it had to throw at me. Thank you!
I had to play it a few times because deaths were plentiful :P I could feel myself getting better and better at it though and using the different mechanics to dodge incoming attacks.
There isn't much else to say; I enjoyed it :D It is well made!
A wonderfully told story, a beautifully realized title screen and intriguing sword combat all tied into a neat, atmospheric package. Really well done, especially for a one man team.
What an experience! Multiple voice acted characters, interesting dynamic story, even going as far as accepting my name in-game :deer:
I always love playing through your games. The ooze personality and take me back to mid-90's indie games, which was the wild west of video games delivered to you on shareware discs. Your LD entries are simply a nostalgia trip.
Loved it!
Took me about 20 minutes but I finally found all 10 pieces of wood :evergreen_tree: You nailed the atmosphere/mood. The audio suited the visuals well and I gotta admit I developed a sense of anxiety while playing  I got over it, though (thank god for pockets of air).
Well done for creating so many items and animations in 48 hours! Pretty impressive considering it's a compo entry.
Thanks for making it <3
EEEEK! I LOVE IT
I love the silly narrative, I love stacking hats (TF2 anyone?) and I love the enthusiastic voice work. This game really appeals to my senses and after playing game after game that tries too much and fails, it's refreshing to see such a wonderful execution of a fun idea. Well done!
Really well executed art, suitable audio and fun gameplay loop that kept me playing far beyond the average LD entry :D I don't think I came across a single bug so it's clear that you put a lot of work into polish, which I appreciate!
Solid entry!
I though this game was... So-so.
Sorry, I had to. I actually think it was pretty good :P I loved being able to combine abilities (rather than have my projectiles replaced). Blasting off a ton of abilities at once was exciting! The end where I could blink around and completely tear the big dude a new one was particularly fun!
So yeah, I think this game was So-so-Good!
Man, I geeked out when playing through the tutorial section! So many right decisions. Spawning the player in where you teach them to shoot and placing them JUST out of range is pure genius. You tell them how to shoot but you also teach them naturally exactly how long their range is WITHOUT having to tell them. Really well done.
Another moment is the first introduction to jumping on enemy "heads". If you just walk onto them, they will slide you on down to the platform you want to go to. Hand-holding the player through the first head jumping.
These parts show a clear understanding of design, which I really appreciate <3
Super well done!
Polished, high octane action and the only way we're going is down :sunglasses:
I managed to get 2258M down :muscle: which must make me the world's most average player  Still, fun was had and monsters died. Solid entry
Ayy, look at that :eyes: Another LOVE game
This reminded me of how bad I am at precision  (Probably why I suck at FPS games) It was engaging to try and get higher and higher scores but I didn't get very far in that regard  My lack of skill aside, I enjoyed it  With mouse control, it could even work as a shooter game trainer
3f5784d8a4dd75f6d5d92bf1f4a5fec1.png
I got the villain :spy: Nobody can elude my gaze forever :eyes:
For real, this was one of those games that IMMEDIATELY tickled me. As soon as I moved stuff and more stuff appeared, I audibly got hyped. I love the concept and it would be so cool to have a this be a mini-game in a larger game about investigating worldwide conspiracies! The truth is out there!
The music is also extremely fitting and a beautiful piece! Top quality stuff!
To cap it all off, it's made with LOVE! Nice! Glad to see more people giving that framework some ... LOVE...
"You win. Great job, penis" XD
Took me 18 minutes but I made it. There was so much to process at once I think my head was close to frying under the pressure but I prevailed! :D Fun game and considering it's a compo, I am super impressed with the overall package; the visuals, music and sound is very well done, just like your last game <3
I enjoy it when a game explores its mechanics beyond what is obvious at first. The early barrel placement on an elevated platform that you could only shoot down by hitting the ceiling and waiting for the arrow to drop was a nice example of you exploring the mechanics in a creative way. Really appreciate stuff like that <3
Well done :D
4d8caff42f81375205aa131b77c5dd40.jpg
Messed up on the last body! Almost got straight As. Oh well.
The controls are superb! High marks in innovation. It really felt like I undoing knots and poking a body. On top of that, the controls were all distinct but in reach at the same time so I could go from one to the other no problem. Really well done on that front! This is like cook serve delicious but for touching people. Make a full version!
Clear example of quality over quantity for the art. Well done <3 I played through a couple of times and my best time was 0:55 :P I don't know if that's good or not but I tried my best!
:large_blue_circle: :rat: Gotta go fast!
Man, what a blast. Good tutorialization and fun gameplay! I also appreciate the direction the music took; the perfect blend of fun and dreamy.
I am sad to say I didn't beat the developer time  I tried.
First of all, loved the presentation and music. You know I appreciate intro sequences  You also know I am trying to make LD voice acting a thing so I appreciate the solidarity on that front
The art, especially the hand drawn images were gorgeous. The sound effects during fights were fun and charming; hearing each note, strum and bump of instruments go along with the animation was well conceived and executed.
The music was so good that I sat on the menu screen long enough to find out it didn't loop  So I restarted the game to keep listening. I love jazz!
The gameplay was intriguing. The approach of having the player not directly control, but rather influence the Freg brothers on their journey was an interesting one. I understand it may not be exactly how you planned it out but honestly, the idea shines through. If a post jam version is in the pipeline, let me know! :D
This game oozes atmosphere. The light tones of the soundtrack, the carefully crafted sounds for each inspected element in frame and the distinct, muted art style really evokes emotion and intrigue.
It's wonderful to see a different take on the theme. Thank you for the experience <3 It was soothing.
Return to Monke :monkey:
Really well animated. Loved lining the mummies up against the wall and whooping each and every one of them. I sent them running to their mummy's
I also really appreciated the humor. The "crow"bar got me
Well done! :D
Possibly my favorite entry so far. It is certainly the one I enjoyed playing the most! I love strategy games in general and this game tickles that itch in a clever way and also inspires new ideas where this kind of mechanic is the skeleton of the game. I hope you plan to expand this into a full game; if you do, let me know!
Well done on the polish and quality of life additions like options menu etc. Really appreciate it!
It was Christmas 2002 and I was hoping dearly that I would get Dungeon Siege for Christmas! I had told my parents I wanted it and waited eagerly!
Christmas came around :christmas_tree: I opened one of my presents and it was Dungeon... keeper? oh. Not quite what I wanted but I guess it's a game.
Fast forward and I sat down to actually play it. I loved it.
This game tickles a lot of the same spots as that game does. I love the fact that you added the height adjust feature for the walls! Quality of life improvements like that are so rare in LD. Would love a post-jam version <3
Loved the music :notes: Loved the art :paintbrush: Loved the atmosphere :ocean:
Solid entry :two_hearts:
Multiple choice dialogue, hilariously self aware writing and an epic adventure to the heart of the body! So glad I managed to save the day. I was worried that the slithering creature at the end might put up a fight or that the guard earlier might show some resistance, but it seems everyone had the health of Billy in mind and got along, despite their differences. What a wholesome story
Always love playing your entries!
Wow. Solid, clear visual design (making enemies and hurtful walls having the same color for example) as well as quite a few assets for a compo. 5/5 graphics  The game itself is also one of the more fun experiences I have had so far! It gave that feeling of "one more try" to either get a better time or because I died and couldn't end on a loss
Well done!
That was an interesting experience. I think you did a good job on the visuals; the style is consistent and damn :eyes: look at those floorboards :eyes:
It was also intriguing to find out what sort of mischief I could get up to with R :smirk:
Gotta say, I love the soundscapes, both above and below ground
What is here is quite fun. I see you have talked about a post jam version and I would encourage it! Maybe some artefacts to be found? Maybe a town above ground as well as dwellers in the caves? Maybe let the builder build beds to increase sleeping speed? So many ideas come to mind! I look forward to what you come up with!
great entry!
This game is all about the V I B E :rainbow: and on that front, it succeeds! Wonderful art and atmosphere. Impressive amounts of radio broadcasts
Honestly, this is a really good skeleton for a full game. If you made it into a museum tycoon and gave the player more things to find and different kind of artefacts, it would be worth paying for. Imagine different excavation sites that you can unlock by paying for the rights to dig there or buy the property. Dig up, run a museum and pay for more digging with the ticket admission prices and government culture funds.
Really enjoyed it and it inspired a lot of ideas :D
There were a *ton* of fish :fish: :blowfish: :tropical_fish: :sushi: congrats on making so many  Must have been fun.
It was cool that the music changed as you went deeper! It helped keep the game fresh as you progressed!
I also appreciated getting a fat pay day from rare fish :sunglasses:
The gorgeous art and fun music help create a wonderful atmosphere. It's cute and charming!
Well done
Gotta say, the music was a Bop! The art is also distinct from basically any other LD I have played so far and looks stylish :eyes:
Once I got used to the controls, I was flying all over the map like I was speedrunning :muscle: A timed run would be sweet!
I am really impressed with the use of color here. Green being a healthy player character and the hurtful stuff being pink/red is genius as they are essentially opposites on the spectrum. On top of that, green is also used to indicate full HP as part of the traffic light system! So good! That is such good, clear design and everyone around the world will understand the relationship those colors have to each other.
I also appreciate the procedural levels. It's cool to be able to put in any seed and play against friends
Really good entry!
Hilarious and fun. Leaderboards are very much appreciated, even if I didn't make the top 5 :(
Very good submission!
Another masterpiece. Hauntingly beautiful music, carefully chosen visuals and a meta implementation of the theme.
Let's start with the music. It, along with the atmospheric fog and dim colors really help create an atmosphere of dread and despair. Very suitable choice.
The visuals are a stroke of genius. Every grave, more identical than the last. This demonstrates that we are all true equals in death; just bone and rotting flesh. This being the case, it's also a stunning display of the human condition to have a ghost still chase riches (coins) after their life has long since passed.
Theme. I was actually wondering where the theme would come in. It wasn't obvious to me and so I kept playing and boom; an error that crashed the game. "Oh well", I thought to myself as I restarted and played again. Crashed once more due to the same circumstances. Then it hit me; the graveyard truly is unstable to the point that I cannot even progress further. What a clever work of art this is. 5 stars all round, as always.
I didn't know sheep had beef with rabbits :P The jump mechanic was satisfying as hell and running forward only to jump backwards onto a ledge was *chefs kiss*. Great Entry!
Absolutely freakin hilarious! I loved it. Sure, the gameplay is simple but I'm a sucker for narrative and I laughed out loud multiple times. It's always a good sign when a game makes you think, "I would have loved to work on this". Great game; and not just for a compo entry. Fantastic!
Boy, you really have to moove fast to avoid those massive UFO's. I don't know cow those other bovines survived as long as they did, considering they were tipped. Fun game and great use of the theme!
There are few games that get me giddy with enthusiasm but this is one of them. A lot of neat animation, a god damn CONTEXT-SENSITIVE dialogue tree :eyes: and really good writing. I loved it! High marks all around!
If you need voice work for a post-jam version or future LDs, hit me up :) I do some casting and could probably get a couple of pro voice actors in on this!
Hey! Told you I'd review
Anywho, first off; I really appreciate that you went for more of a narrative game. I always do narrative design for the projects I work on, as well as casting direction etc. It's nice to see other games go down a similar path!
On the note of casting direction, if you are in need of voice actors for a future, similar project, let me know! My pro voice actors are always down for jams!
Right, back to Perseverance. The visuals are largely quite pleasant, though I did find the text a little hard to read at times and with no control over how quickly it passed, I missed a couple of words here and there. Art direction is very pretty, though!
Sounds are simple but effective. The best kind of sound design is that which doesn't get distracting and yours blends nicely!
This might be the best looking game I have seen in the jam; easy 5 stars. Buy your artists some pizza!
Great atmosphere as a result of killer audio and visuals, paired with tight mechanics and a high level of polish. I know to expect this from you but I'm still very happy to see it! Fantastic work <3
To organize a team effort like this really shows that you had a great plan. More plan!
@noirox Oops. That was not meant to happen. The queen smash was bugged and has now been *fixed* within the confines of the rules :) I hope you give it another go! We really appreciate the positive feedback <3
@wilhelmstein Thanks for the kind words! About the music "bug". We baked in the silence at the start of the track so it would trigger after the initial dialogue with rook. We didn't have time to put it in properly. It's a jam, after all
I couldn't help myself. I wrote a terrible recipe for pancakes and if somebody sees it and wants to make it, I will personally paypal you the money to do so
I love the bottle mechanic. It adds a lot of fun to the game!
I saw "Escape Velocity" and wondered if it had a connection to the classic Ambrosia games, so of course I had to try it. I am glad I did! The music is **out of this world** and the visuals are **stellar**. I really enjoyed it
After adjusting the mouse sensitivity (thank you so much for the option), the game feels great to play! I am beyond impressed by the visuals; kudos to the artists! I also like that the game gives you health and power pickups as well as multiple enemies for some variety! Very good entry!
There is always something satisfying about building up more and more defenses in games. It tickles the inner part of my monkey brain :monkey:
The visuals are wonderful (especially zoomed in :eyes:) and the audio is tastefully applied :ok_hand:
Great entry!
Yo, what a great game! The setting, visuals, social commentary and everything else just goes so well together, paired with a dismal music track and sound effects that complement it perfectly. Top marks!
To think this was made solo in 48 hours is crazy to me.
Change your name to "goodpiggy" because that's what I want to tell you! The movement was tight and fun, the tension was thick as the air in a smoker's bedroom when going from exit to exit and the audio was tastefully applied. Wonderful entry!
What an anxiety inducing experience that quickly became  . Wonderfully thought through concept and super fun gameplay loop, even if the game does stare back at me like a mirror... Great job!
Wow.
What an extremely well designed game. I don't even know if it was intentional but everything works so extremely well together.
The further ahead you are, the more difficult it is to react to oncoming obstacles, which puts you further back. However, the further back you fall behind, the more space you have to react and get ahead again! Straight up GENIUS game design. Self-regulating difficulty that happens completely naturally.
If it really was intentional and you set out to create the game with that in mind, I applaud you  I have played games in a similar vein to this but they never felt that fair and often, once you are behind, you stay behind because that's just how it is. The fixed view of your game created the auto-balanced difficulty which I find to be super awesome.
Anyway, I'm gonna stop gushing about it. I just find it neat. It's rare that LD games get me so excited about design, because it tends to be the last thing people think about when trying to rush a game.
High marks all around!
I LOVE the amount of narrative in here. I love the different options you have and I love the humor written into every piece of dialogue. Fantastic entry and a creative use of the theme!
Extremely creative and enjoyable game! I initially thought it was gonna be a bit of a chore but man, I got so immersed in it all!
I was constantly rushing around my room to find things to stall my grandma and speed-reading txt files like never before. It felt almost real. Excellent entry! Top marks!
Scribble Art is the best art! I have always wanted to make a game with hand drawn scribbles :P
I understand this was made in your own engine? neat! That's not a claim to fame that many in LD have :smile_cat:
I'd hate to state the obvious but; I thought the use of music/sound combined with the dim, moody visuals make for a great and immersive atmosphere! Very tasteful ;)
This is the second game I have played featuring an angry grandma this jam. Only here, grandma is like, "You can catch *these* hands" ..
fun entry!
Yo, I'm about to break my space bar. Good thing I have 2 keyboards :D I only got into triple digits; not sure if 1000+ is possible but I didn't manage it. Fun concept and wonderful execution, considering you did it all yourself! Impressive!
The visuals are stunning, even beyond the thought that this was made in 48 hours by a single person who did everything else as well. Extremely well done!
The music, art and theme of the game are all nicely suited for each other too, which I appreciate. Super well done!
There were some very funny jokes in there :P I think you nailed the scope and pacing and it was fantastic to see so many different creatures drawn.
The music was good, the voice acting was good and the sound effects were good. Audio was solid.
Also, 26 LDs is nothing to sneeze at. Congrats!
Finally someone going for RTS. I love RTS games but people are too afraid to make them in LD :P Big ups to you!
This is pucking well made. It isn't always easy to hockeystick the landing when making sports games, but you um.. ok I can't think of more puns.
But it was really well put together; an audiovisual treat! A lot of complexity too, which must have taken a long time to plan, execute and balance.
Though I am terrible at sports games, the difficulty seems well tuned, as well. Go Pumpkings!
Interesting take on the theme, though a bit chaotic a times (thank you, pause button). I appreciate the up front notes about AI art and I personally think edited AI art should be allowed so bravo to the person in charge of composition; the elements were well laid out.
c73bd93967828191e9d7717c1afc4025.jpg
Loved being able to set up supply chains. Wheat to windmills which then send to bakeries and then to the warehouse. That really scratches my city building itch! :D
Great entry!
@babbersher Glad you enjoyed the game! the supply drops happen every 10 seconds, adding strategic complexity to the game (balancing how many and what kinds of supply drops you go for VS staying on the tank to defend).
The radio voice at the start also tells you that you get supply drops every 10 seconds, in case it wasn't otherwise clear :) Hope that makes sense!
PS: this is why the game is called "Supply & Command" as it covers the 2 main aspects of the game.
I got super into it! Pulled out a pen and paper and frantically wrote down names, objects and whatever else I thought might be relevant.
It took a few tries but I figured it out! It was satisfying to see the art reflect the actual conclusion, too. I had no questions or moments of "how was I supposed to know that?!". It was great! Fantastic art, music and super interesting gameplay.
Although a simple idea, it is one of the better takes on the theme that I have seen. Well done!
"just one more try"
Quite an addictive, high tempo gameplay loop! Clever use of AI generated art, too ;)
Although bugs (in both versions) have prevented me from being able to complete or dive deep into the game, I got a good feel for it.
Considering that it's a compo game, the presentation is exceptionally well done. An intro, a starting area with a tutorial, wonderful music and sounds. There is lots to like. The ship design is also not blocky; you put time into the design, which is appreciated!
The game, as far as I could play it, seemed like an interesting loop. I also enjoyed the movement of the character, the swing of the wrench and basically everything I interacted with. The game is well constructed, which is more than you can say for most Compo entries.
You should be proud of the entry. Shame that the rating system has hidden it and that pesky bugs are making it harder to experience in depth (but that doesn't knock your ratings).
I appreciate the well thought out tutorial and of course I love the potion seller video and find it hilarious that there are always LD entries that reference it :P
LD Jammer. I am writing a comment. I need only your strongest comment karma <3
Fantastic high-detail pixel art! Also loved the little animations you put in. The game was intriguing and the balancing act of saving ships VS getting resources was interesting to tackle. Great entry!
Boi, I suck as a janitor. Good thing this is not what I do IRL :P
I've got to have created the most well-lit and seat-filled house in existence. You could sit a whole church congregation in there.
Anyway, I loved the idea. It's silly and fun and the choice of music fits very well with the hectic gameplay. Bravo to the team! <3
The ship models were wonderfully done. The writing was beautiful. The mechanics were surprisingly engaging. Solid entry!
Extremely great visuals (easy 5) and wonderful gameplay loop, once I got the hang of it. One of the best games I have played in the 20+ games so far. Well done!
Love the use of AI. It's clear that AI will play a huge part in indie game development going forward (and AAA not too much later) so it's interesting to see the beginnings of it in jams.
I don't know if I matched with anyone I could really date, but there were some pretty suitors in there for sure :eyes:
This is a well thought out game and I really liked it! Big respect for keeping the scope tight and the execution solid.
The audio-visual experience was a treat, too!
Great execution on the concept! It was fun to be able to rage stack a burger to heaven when I knew I had messed up :P Fantastic art, too!
Not gonna spoil anything but I always enjoy games that aren't entirely what they seem!
I enjoyed it a lot! :)
Yoooooo! I am a sucker for story games in LD. I love that the game (seems to) remember my choices and references them further into the story.
Great entry!
Great tutorialization, great art, great fun. Not much to fault; it's a great jam entry!
Easily my favorite entry so far and among the funniest LD entries I have ever played! I couldn't stop laughing. Loved everything about it! EASY 5 star.
Great art, great music and a wonderful atmosphere. I only got a score of 1120 but hey, I wasn't planning on selling my young anyway. I love my dragon children <3
This game has Big Dick energy.
Lovely presentation! the fully animated pixel art and immersive 3d environment works very well to set the mood, together with the music. It's unbeleafably good.
Toad.
No wait, frog!
Phew.
Anyway, I must admit I got frustrated a number of times but glad to be rewarded with many frog sprites <3 The frogs are the cutest.
I dig the 90's indiegame feel with intentionally clashing visual aesthetics. I love the puns built into the writing! I love the music, sounds and overall atmosphere!
Honestly, great entry! High Marks!
Your compo puts jam entries to shame. Straight 5 stars across the board.
Incredible entry. If you don't win, we riot.
I won.jpg
I believe this is my first escape room in LD
Considering you did it all yourself, the overall package is very well done and the visuals are impressive. I'd have hoped for more audio (even just some simple sounds & music) but 48 hours solo is rough so I get it. Well done on the entry!
God-like visual representation :white_check_mark: Thorough tutorialization :white_check_mark: Great cohesive music and sound :white_check_mark: Day & Night cycle :white_check_mark: Intriguing gameplay :white_check_mark:
I like it a lot. I know to expect 5 star worthy games from you but it's still impressive to experience. Great work! Well done to the whole team
@winter2277 Glad you enjoyed it! RNG can be difficult to manage in a short jam project but I am glad you appreciated the game otherwise! Thanks for rating and commenting!
@martenscedric Weeds that replace weeds are better in the sense that they can redirect towards enemy territory and cost nothing. The rock is better in the sense that it creates a semi-permanent barrier that you can build behind safely and avoid future weeds as well as discouraging flower expansion due to the attacker inheriting the minus points.
As for the small map advantage, while the first player has an advantage in the form of being ahead 1 turn, the second player has the advantage of always being the one reacting to player 1, and therefore making more informed moves each time. Overall, player 1 still has an advantage but we can't perfectly balance a jam game unfortunately. I hope you had fun regardless and I hope you had a chance to experience our AI as well! Thanks for the comment!
You've done it again, you scoundrel. The classic DK5000p art style is back in force and the game is simple so anyone can pick it up!
I thought that ninja was gonna get me, but I managed to sneak away and collect all the corn cobs in a reasonable timeframe (not that it was timed..). As a result, my family and I will eat for 2 more days. I call that a successful harvest and this is a successful entry, despite your time constraints. Well done!
The overall presentation here is great! The art is wonderful, the music is rad and the movement feels awesome. Being able to hit, dash, hit from the other side and repeat until they are taken out is so satisfying when I don't take a hit :P
Great entry! High marks!
I won. Never doubted for a second :sunglasses:
The art is very well done, the music is fitting, the gameplay loop is engaging and easy to understand yet complex enough to make it interesting throughout the game's duration. Be proud of your entry! It's a good one!
02b07fc3c189a4b2750ec21df4706aad.png
I didn't know they harvested corn with big scythes
The game was pretty hardcorn. I tried my best but I wasn't that amaizeing at it and kept losing :grimacing:
Ok, enough corn puns :P I liked it!
Wonderful pixel art, soothing audio and a easy to understand and interesting gameplay loop :eyes: There's a lot to love here! Really well done on the entry!
I managed to make as far as this before the game got too choppy to function but hey! that's far enough for me to figure the game out and I gotta say, I like it. Something about the art is nostalgic for some reason and tickles my senses. Beyond the art, I think the interlocking mechanics are intriguing and it was fun to figure them out. Always appreciate a lua game, too! :D wooo lua!
080bf92fa81dc33ec026d3789187d06a.png
Some of the best visuals I have come across so far. Everything is really well put together, style wise. I love seeing a vampire survivor style game in jams :P This was a pretty complete and fleshed out experience, too! Well done!
I harvested 49 zombies in 2 minutes. I don't know if that's terrible or only bad
I like the art, sound and music! I didn't encounter any bugs and the controls were solid. Well done to the whole team!
It's not secret, I am terrible at platformers. Still, I really appreciated the great visuals and the method to quickly give some story context early on! The audio was simple and effective, which is never a bad thing :muscle:
well done!
I don't know how you managed to make so many assets and program the game on your own. Great work on the cute visuals and deep gameplay!
Took me a few tries but I finally safely delivered the princess and a few treasures to their destination and disappointed our blond friend in the process (oof).
Intro was hilarious and so was the art. Great job!
I needed 19 resets and it seems like a few others here also did. Odd  Great entry! You always impress with the amount of content you fit in compo projects. Insanely great! The villain was hilarious and the gameplay with fun!
Very pretty and eerie visuals with neat lighting effects!. Great sound work and gameplay too.
A joy to experience. The wonderful feeling of freedom in the air as a result of excellent music and atmospheric sounds is a feat on its own. The visuals are also charming as all hell and I love the idea of this game expanding into something greater with a deep, touching narrative. Great work by the whole team!
Actually hilarious. I expect you will take the win in humor. Really well executed fun!
Surprisingly fun for how simple it is. Loved that the pizzas could splat on the wall, too. Gave me a chuckle :P
I don't know how to tell you this. I ended up with less points at the end than I started with, and I started with 0!
This is why I am a game dev, media person and bartender and not a ... uh.. orbit specialist? I will stick to earth related tasks
Seems like you must have gone through much math before arriving at something seemingly realistic, which is impressive when you are working all by yourself within a very short timeframe! Bravo!
Great entry (I feel like a broken record. Of course it's a great entry from this team).
The atmosphere is eerie, no doubt thanks to great audio and visuals. The scope is impressive and the spinning chairs are to die for! :D Great lighting and particle effects also!
Actually incredible. There isn't much else to say.
At first I thought the packages were bombs to drop on the cats :P The game looks beautiful! Many lovely looking art assets. Super impressive that you managed to put such a large 3D world together completely from scratch!
The cherry on top would be a new member added to the team that could make music and sounds specifically for the game! That would really tie it together!
Good work!
Another masterpiece.
This game challenges players to deliver packages from one red house to another within a two-minute time window. While it may seem like a simple task, there is more to this game than meets the eye.
The red color of the houses represents passion, energy, and determination, which are essential qualities for success in this game. The sky, with its dim blue color and bouncy white clouds outlined in black, represents the unpredictable nature of life that players must navigate through to complete their task.
The gameplay mechanics of delivering one package at a time emphasizes the importance of focusing on the present moment and making the most of our time, as represented by the two-minute time window.
'Delivery' is a thought-provoking game that challenges players to live in the present moment and make the most of their time. Its simple yet effective design conveys powerful messages about the qualities needed for success and the unpredictable nature of life. Top marks! Always look forward to playing your games.
Very much needed pixel perfect landings but it was smooth sailing from there ;)
Wonderful submission. Fun use of the theme!
Classic rage-inducing masterpiece. I hate you. I love you. I don't know what to do with myself. All those babies. Why? :/ Wonderful implementation of the theme! Very impressive solo development. You got that humor that removes my tumor, if you get what I'm saying ;) ;) ;)
great concept, great execution. Many games this jam (and all jams) implement the theme in a lazy way. You took the jam theme seriously both in story and in gameplay. I really appreciate that.
The music, visuals and overall mood was fantastically put together.
Also, Go Love2d! :D
Great rhymes, very funny and wonderfully illustrated cats!
It was a pleasure to play a game that features lovely pixel art and a cool-looking boss fight. The tutorial area was also quite neat and helpful in getting started with the game mechanics.
That was simply **out of this world** :P. Developed by a single person, yet it had everything one could ask for: fantastic tutorialization, impressive compo visuals, and fleshed out audio, complete with music "voice" and sfx. The game's premise, working for a stork delivery service in space, is a creative and honest interpretation of the theme and the story was told in an immersive an fun way. It is evident that you worked hard the game, and it shows in every aspect of it. Great scores all around!
Here I am, ordering a plain game and you delivered a god damn FIRE compo entry! :fire:
The puzzles were super logical, stacking slimes wasn't really explained to me but I did it without second thought and it worked pretty well. Controls were good, level design was good and so much else was good. It's a pretty impressive game, honestly.
High scores all round!
alien.png
I think I did pretty well! Lots of happy aliens!
This could almost be a subplot of a rick and morty episode :P An elevator constantly going up and down to make aliens happy!
I liked it! Also sweet to see Love2D being used :D
Very pretty art and atmosphere!
Very creepy. Clever use of lighting and sound!
Though it seems like you bit off more than you could chew for the jam, I dig the idea of growing plants by directing their roots. There have been a few games like this throughout the years in LD and I think this is the first time I have seen a grid-based implementation. A valiant effort for a first LD entry! (decided to come here after you talked to me in the stream chat :P ). If you aren't aware of the karma system, you get pushed by the algorithm if you vote on games and from hearts on your comments on other games. I recommend going and playing/rating! :D
You don't miss. I can't say much more than what has already been said, but great work! How you manage to do so much alone is impressive.
You put together some lovely little scenes and utilized the theme in a way that is hard to argue with :P Well done
Absolutely blown away. Even when expecting greatness, I didn't expect such a masterpiece.
Everything, from the concept to the execution, the presentation and gameplay, the music, voice and sound effects. EVERYTHING is fantastically well done and comes together to create a top tier LD entry, deserving nothing short of 5 stars.
It is without a doubt the best entry you have ever made, and the best entry I have ever played. I cannot imagine cramming more elegance of design into such a short period of time. It is practically flawless.
@masterofcheese Glad you liked it! All voice acting is done by voice actors on the team, except the sniper/sharpshooter/scout character which I voiced. All credits are in the game :)
@lcstark Wow, thanks for the indepth review. I hate myself for not including easter eggs when clicking too many times but basically no one ever looks for them so we can't justify spending the time :P Maybe in the future!
We actually had 400 extra words of dialogue written that had to be cut due to time constraints (sadge). Can't always get stuff in.
I didn't program so I can't speak about the bug you discovered but hopefully it didn't take away from the enjoyment too much :)
One of the most literal and fun interpretations of the theme! I managed to jump onto all 3 platforms and kill all monsters so I am counting that as a win ;)
Wonderful visual art and great sound effects! It was quite a challenge to balance it all once the pace picked up! Rather interesting gameplay loop.
bc0068cf8a971cee26ee47d01a696484.jpg
I got all the way to what I assume is the last level? But it is almost 7 AM and I have been playing for HOURS...
That just goes to show how great this is. Love the massive scope and the impressive amount of artwork that went into this. Props to the programmers, too! This is not easy to create in 72 hours.
I gotta sleep now, but not before I dish out some high fives :five:
Extremely well executed presentation, both visually and auditorily. The vibes are off the charts. Now you just need a voice actor to bring it together :D
Fantastic submission, super innovative and a great use of the theme. Stunning work and the fact that it's a compo makes it all the more impressive. Great work!
Great visuals, wonderful soundtrack that works well with the game and very impressive summoning system. Great sounds, also! It's difficult to think of a better way to embrace the theme than creating custom casting patterns for each summoned creature. Fantastic work!
@retrific Hey! I am glad you liked the game!
The voice acting, all sounds and music was done by people from scratch. You can check the credits in the game to see who did what. We always put a huge amount of focus on audio because when done right, it can make or break a game experience. Thanks for the wonderful feedback!
It's a fun concept for a game and it's great to see youngster taking part in game jams. I'd recommend opting out of the audio category as you didn't make the music, though. Other than that, good entry!
@sillyman987 I found the game music on youtube and shazam found it too. That's all i gotta say.
@sillyman987 Either way the rules say this: "Yes, AI powered tools can be used, but you may have to opt-out of certain categories.
Generally speaking, AI assistant and βco-pilotβ tools can be used without restriction, but you should opt-out of categories where a content generator did most of the work. Typically this is the Graphics category, but it may include other categories."
If an AI generated the music, it's still required that you opt out. I am sure you can find musicians to join your projects in the future. There are a lot of them around.
Love the look of the first person pixel hands. It takes me back to a simpler time when games... had pixelated hands...
Anyway, sweet submission! Fun sounds! :D
Turn based RPGs like these hit that spot that other games so often don't. You just have to try an try again until you make it. Great work, especially for being a compo!
Love the inclusion of a high score board! It's always motivating to see where you place! :D Well done on the entry!
Nice, now I can call myself a body builder :muscle:
Good entry and good interpretation of the theme!
A simple game, but it compels you to try and try and try and try again. I'd like to know the lore behind the sad demons. Why are they sad? Why did their eyebrows grow out so thick? We may never know. Good music! and fun character designs!
So good! And hilarious! "LUDUM DARE". Love the humour you put into your games! :D
Thoroughly impressed that this was done by one person in 48 hours.
Loving the music and overall atmosphere! I also love city builders and management. Getting some cult of the lamb vibes and I don't think that's unintended ;) It's a shame you couldn't fulfill your vision but you should be proud of what you managed to get made!
duuuuude. That title screen drop was so sick. Immediately marks the game as a high quality entry! I walked up and down many times to expose myself to its greatness over and over :D
I dig the beautiful presentation, the classic windmill vibes and the effort put into cinematics. True artistry!
Gotta give props to the programmer for fitting in the menu, particle effect and story elements in addition to the gameplay.
:baby:
I love myself some narrative in LD games (shouldn't come as a surprise, given my jam history). I think you did a lot with a little, visually and there was an elegance in the soundscape that you should be proud of. Intentional or not, the chimes as you reupped on fireflies and lit lanterns fit perfectly with the ambience and music that was playing, as if to harmonize with it.
Great effort from both of you! I'm happy I got to play it!
Loving the character models (are 2d characters called models?) and the gameplay was very intuitive. Solid entry!
Fabulous presentation, good vibes and a great use of the theme! (top marks!)
For my tastes, this is probably the best looking game I have played and the best use of the theme I have seen so far. Great work!
Yo. Just wanted to say that you guys got robbed in the graphics category. I played 124 games and this is easily a top 3 graphics for me.
Actually hilarious. I sucked at the game but I finished it and then just sat there listening. Did I pick up on a bit of a Norwegian/Swedish accent maybe? I am Norwegian myself so that would be a neat fun fact ;)
I don't think I need to say that I love jam games with narratives, given my history with jam projects but still, I appreciate that there are others that like to make them too! :) Go fry!
Also, I love that you included the LOTR reference! The game wouldn't be the same without it.
Looooove RTS games. I have been a part of a couple of RTS projects since I started LD and it's always fun to see others doing them as well.
Good on you for getting in voice lines for the bees! It's not an RTS without voicelines! :D
Fantastic work for a 48 compo game. Insanely impressive.
Alright, you tama got me. Vibes and spooks are always fun!
This game has layers!
I knew as soon as I saw it that I needed to play it. It's hilarious and fun to play! Giving the creatures the old bonk & yoink was enjoyable throughout.
Good old Orgron Gramsay! He knows how to put a dish together and everyone knows it! He's always having people for dinner!
I love the mechanics and I love the visual representation of the upgrades! While not an RTS, it's in a similar vein and I am a huge fan of RTS unit management and it scratched that itch.io
It was so hype to select more health and see them get armor! :O
Wonderful little game. Gets quite hectic as you get further along but it builds up to that well. Great tutorial!
@tatuvasara I didn't strictly make it with my family :P just younger team members.
@emsea Leaving you wanting more is always a good thing, no? :P For now there isn't a plan to expand it but maybe in the future, when other projects are finished, we can revisit it.
@ategon You are welcome to use the game footage for that, yeah!
Thanks for playing the game! You can be proud that you're the only one to break it so far :D
@gm3l I appreciate the kind words! I have a couple of other projects I am focusing on at the moment, and the team for this was put together specifically for the jam so I don't know how much more we will make together; that's up to each individual.
But I agree that it has potential and that we made great work :) Maybe we will revisit it in a year or two.
@xand Technically not two people, just two with an LD account :P But I appreciate the kind words! I think we managed to organize ourselves well and put out something immersive and relatively polished.
@titos2k If we made a bigger level, it could or if I changed things around a bit, dialogue wouldnβt need to interrupt. But with 72 hours, I couldnβt make sure there would be no issues without locking dialogue into cutscenes. Itβs an unfortunate result of running out of time.
Same goes for any other suggestions really :P there just wasnβt time π₯² but I hope you liked the game!
@sockenpuppe Glad you liked the game!
Yeah, the deep sea and outer space are similar in the sense that we don't really know much about it. We also can't breathe there and need shuttles/submarines and special suits to navigate the space. Therefore, the music needs to reflect that ;) One way the music is different from space music, though is that it is slower and more flowy and features no bleep bloop sci-fi sounds. Paired with the walkie talkie voice and muffled underwater sound design, we aimed to create the feeling of being small in a vast space, in spite of the small level. Glad that came across! :D
@designernap Thank you for the kind words! We tried very hard to get the immersion, storytelling and vibes down. Every part of it, however unpolished, was created with art and love. Glad that so many resonate with it!
@wisstopher Gdevelop has some limitations when it comes to lighting (unless you want to expand the lighting functionality yourself) but I would recommend it. It's especially great for jam projects; you can get a lot of prototyping done very fast in my opinion.
Thank you for playing! :D
@sockenpuppe Thank you! :D
That main character is straight out of a tough bar in spongebob :P I dig it! Straight lines for bullets is under rated! It's very clear to see where you are shooting and adjust accordingly. I approve!
Fun art, lots of tiny creatures (and some bigger ones) and wonderful music! I look forward to future LD entries!
Pretty fantastic gameplay! The juice in the steps as you stomp around was great! The different mechanics were fun and the puzzle-like challenges of each level kept things interesting. Well done, team!
Pretty great effort, especially for a compo entry! Well done
Good to see that you are still creating LD games!
I grew up playing management and strategy games, so I love seeing little people running around doing what I tell them to do! Scratches an itch that never stops itching. Impressive that you're out here doing all this developing on your own!
Gorgeous! Just look at that crisp art! Wonderful sound design and music, also!
Boing boing boing :frog:
Wow. Surprisingly good! It had an engaging story with fun writing. I have to imagine the weapon attack delay was intentional, considering the dark souls expert! One had to be precise with each attack, picking the right timing, distance and angle! Impressive stuff.
Love that you encourage younger ones to create! We also had some younger ones on our team! 16 and 18 year old artists. We also made an underwater game like you! :D How fun!
Business. Sales! :D
Wonderful entry. Really polished visuals, fun atmosphere and relatively easy to understand gameplay :) Props to the musician, too!
Very interesting to see hand drawn paper cutouts animated in 3d. Don't think I have ever seen that in LD before, which is saying something considering how many games there have been over the years. A properly unique art style and vibe in this game!
Maybe I'm a weirdo but I like whispering, so I like this game :P I've been doing ASMR videos for over 10 years so I suppose it makes sense.
The game has wonderful art and I love a good narrative experience! Well done!
Oooh. Surprised to see such polish and attention to detail from a one-man army! The menu was great, the different screens were interesting visually with good composition and the game was fun! Short and simple. Perfect angle of attack for a jam game!
Imagine what you could do in a team setting! :O
Simple, but good looking visuals! Fun idea, even if it could be a little faster. Cute cats! :cat:
Ayy I am a flyberry!
I loved the fourth wall breaks and the breadcrumbs in the level that hinted at what was to come! Attention to detail is always fun.
The music also reminded me of this from Kings Quest 7! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8Tq0y-PZkY If you play this at 1.25X speed, it sounds kinda similar :P Fun!
So much animation! It was a fun little adventure and I look forward to the projects you guys come out with in future ludum dares! :D
I like it! So many jam games forget all about viiiibes. Vibes are important and you nailed the vibes!
Bra Γ₯ se at det ikke bare er jeg som deltar i Norge! :D
I had to resort to my a-maze-ing navigation skills of hugging the left wall to not get lost! Took me longer than I'd like to admit to find the end :P
I liked it! A good first entry into the fun world of LD game jams! I look forward to seeing how you progress in the future!
Since you're new, I should mention (in case you weren't aware) that rating other entries gets you more visibility, but that goes double for comments on people's pages! If people heart your comments, you will get much more "karma" than just rating :) This isn't made very clear on the website. Good luck in your pursuit to 20 ratings!
I am getting serious old school early 3d point and click adventure vibes (like Monkey Island 4). How you manage to have 40 people working alongside each other, I don't know. It's an achievement, for sure!
I am blown away by the production quality, seeing as you did this all alone in 2 days. That is wild. Well done, my guy! You should try doing this professionally some time :P
@designernap Same. 18 hour days, with no days off. I don't manage to make what you make, but I'm still getting learning basic stuff. So far I have programmed 4 little jam projects and each introduces new (to me) mechanics and systems. Give it another 2-3 jams and I will make something massive ;) No one will be safe (from fun).
Your last game was great, but this is even better. Extremely well executed!
I don't know how you keep making the games look better and better. How does art/effects get this good in a weekend? I will never know. The boat is incredible :motorboat:
The big fat anchor at the end of the short chain made it feel like wielding a mighty flail! (though maybe a cat o'nine tails with many small anchor ends would have worked too) :D
The story and characters were cute and the voices, especially the autotuned kitty voice, were fun!
Great job all around!
@zettasimp Whoops. I forgot to tick a box to make the music loop; now it does! :D
As for the difficulty, I find people are very different when it comes to skill level and I didn't have the time to ramp it over time, so I made it manageable for most ;)
Glad you enjoyed it!
@aeoncl Yeah they are fun! I just wish I had more time so I could get move voice lines in.
Remember to screenshot the score when you want to submit it to the leaderboard!
@breadley so glad you enjoyed it! I agree that the voice actors are great at what they do π€ as for variations of layouts, the issue was largely that I wasted a day trying to automate something I should have done manually from the start π₯² lesson learned!
Congratulations on the great score!
@ssiannas Level variation and speed increases (as well as powerups) were planned but I wasted an entire day so it was effectively a 48 hour jam, in terms of code. Whoops. Glad you liked what we managed to include ;)
@caffeinetrip It will get more ratings once I start rating more ;) I am just not able to do that many ratings before the weekend.
@providence god damn, what a score. First try, too? Getting sweaty is a feature ;) Consider it the dfficulty ramp.
I will give yours a go when I am home! (currently at a course)
@larsievl haha, oh damn. You've almost beaten my personal best and I made the maps :P Really well done! Glad you like the game :D
@hexstart that is crazy. How on earth did you manage to lock in for so long? And yeah we ran out of time and an artist never showed up variety is less than we wanted, the willpower to keep going is the challenge ;) many donβt get far enough to feel that burn π₯
Enjoy your spot at the top. I donβt think anyone will top it, honestly πΊ
As for the soundtrack, I have sent the message to the musician. Iβll see what he says ;)
@hexstart haha. Are you just gonna take that? π
Also! Music: https://on.soundcloud.com/VZgc38yrauqbKZWv7
Updated version with ending!
@sparklingsushi Wow! You definitely did! Did you enjoy yourself while dropping? :D
@xpmonster now go for 1,000,000! π
Wonderful visuals and creative enemy design, especially with the swordfish!
Absolutely hilarious! BOOM!
Best ending.png
I think we all know it is the best ending.
I LOVEEEE the art. It's so well done. The pick up and drop animations are also unexpected and superbly made. The voice fits well and the ambience is also well put together. All that is to say, the production quality is awesome! There is a gem here, hidden somewhere under all that dirt and trash in his apartment. I look forward to more updates! :D
TFW the stripper has more clothes on than you.
I guess... Cheese is the reason.
I enjoyed this a lot! It oozes atmosphere! It's like a mix between classic alone in the dark games and ratatouille, with a mark morgan soundtrack. Lots to love!
No idea how I could afford that taxi ride, though
I sea what you did here. I always appreciate good pixel work in compo games and those dice have some juicy depth to their look. Fun that got time to implement some fun animations and particle effects, too! :D
And can I just say something CRAZY... I literally thought to myself "man, I feel like a monkey doing puzzles" and the guy just before me commented almost the exact same thing!! Haha. I thought it might be rude to say, but you definitely got that kind of game here. It's mysterious and playing it feels like a science experiment, where the player is the subject.
Loving the intro animation. TFW, amirite fellas?.. fellas?
Let's hope this game has prepared me for the real deal, when the time comes for me to be pushed down to the pits of hell. I'm pretty sure it'll happen exactly as it did here  :x:
Great job with the gameplay variety!
The visuals are fun, despite being simple and I dig the speed of resets! :D The game says GOGOGO! My score is too embarrassing to post, so I won't XD But good entry!
Woo! Got gems.... and then I think I got stuck. Not sure it was worth it, considering I can't use the gems in the middle of wherever it is I was. Not really even sure it was a "where". Could have been a "when" for all I know.
I spammed all my keys to find a mysterious key but no luck :(
Oh well. Good visuals! shame about the audio. I know all too well how hard it is to get audio in (cause I always put so much of it in :P) You'll manage next time!
AYYYY PBat? Insert Obi Wan meme here cause that is a name I haven't heard in a loooong time. I watched him when he uploaded a decade ago.
The game was fun! I played with my girl and she cringed a lot so you know you did a great job with the lines! :D
@pierre-marie oof. I will see about releasing a bug fix for small things like that in not too long. Did it still allow you to progress after? did you get to finish the game?
@stefanholst Just ran out of time, basically. It's a complex game for 3 days  Glad you liked it!
@toppervideogames Considering how much stuff we had to cram in, there wasn't enough time to balance, no. For the last boss, the best strategy is poisoning first, then using laser as the poison also ticks his hp down. Drains him pretty fast and allows you to combine heads ;)
@ntimi glad you enjoyed the game!
It was made easy on purpose ;) we want people to experience everything without having to invest too much time. Itβs a jam and people have to play many games π€
As for the bug, thanks for reporting it! What happened was that the cutscene didnβt reset properly and you talked to the boss with a different head the second time. Because of that, the dialogue was different. You get different lines if you use a different head π so both triggered at once.
@skale yeeeh the walls are simply too thin (their hitboxes, anyway) so it seems like there either needs to more safeguards to keep you from pressing into them or just a fatter hitbox.
Live and learn, I suppose.
Hope you enjoyed the game, otherwise! :D
I LOVED this idea. Great use of the theme and fantastic game name! It's just hilarious from the get go. Well done! Poor Marcus.
First of all, great vibes! Calming, beautiful music and cute art! I love to just be able to relax with a jam entry.
Second, GDEVELOP? WOO! Not many of us out there :D Neat to see it in the wild. I look forward to seeing more of your entries in the future!
@andruid I have only programmed for a few of my entries (the last few). Otherwise I have done audio, story and design related tasks and it was with different engines (gamemaker or Love2d framework).
But yeah, from LD 56 onwards, it's Gdevelop games programmed by me :D
In awe of the amount of different items! Fun little battler!
I enjoyed the flavor text and dialogue a lot, too!
Wooo!!! I managed to collect every single sheep! Sure, they are collected at the bottom of the sea, but collected they are! Where is my dinner?
Great fun, great soundscape, wonderful pixelwork and I loved pushing sheep off the cliff!
The melancholy tone was fitting and the story that unfolded was compelling. I always love narrative LD games. Well done, team!
I am not the first to say it but the art is really something. It perfectly captures that childlike wonder. Paired with good music and sound, and the presentation of this is well done!
Spooky stuff! I don't know if there is a good and bad ending, but if there are, I got the good ending :D So go me!
The art was fantastic and the atmosphere oozes out of the screen. I was actually scared, since the full screen options still locks it to a small square in a black void and I thought it would have been clever if something came out of the screen in that black space if I lost. I guess I will never know...
Wonderful sound work, too!
The colour distinction between the enemies could be slightly altered to be a little clearer, otherwise the visuals are pretty good. I'd also say that the game could have more satisfying sounds but it is suitable as is and by no means dissatisfying; it's just a point for improvement.
As is, really good title and really good use of theme.
Incredible experience; don't want to spoil. JUST FUCKING PLAY.
This game pulls through on humour and silliness alone. It's unfortunate that the dev didn't manage to incorporate a second genre or implement better camera control but it was an overall enjoyable experience. Solid work.
Incredibly well done in terms of production quality, certainly top tier on that front. I think the game could improve from expanded scope and possibly increase its mood score with a little more grime added to the visuals. There is also room for additional elements of humour. Overall, incredible entry. Solid 4.5/5
The game is well presented and mechanically solid. The predictive indicator showing you where the ball would go was a little hit or miss (as were the hitboxes) but it is an impressive show concerning theme and innovation. Great work!
The game is charming and has mad potential, it just falls short in the amount of choices, variety in dialogue and the length is excessive. If the story was cut short but the dialogue was expanded and relationships between the npcs was further developed, this could be a gem of a game. It would also help to add music and sound effects!
Good effort!
Cute visuals and generally clear design with the exception of the spikes. With some music, additional puzzles and a more fleshed out narrative and this could easily make it on to the app store!
This game, unlike other similar games in this ludum dare seems to have a good grasp of design and puts the challenge in the hands of the player rather than making unfair. It's more about how well the player executes an obvious set of commands rather than about letting the player figure shit out as they go and losing constantly because of it. The music is suitable and fits the visuals. The SFX were serviceable. With tweaks, more variety and a doubling down on its design philosophy, this could be quite an enjoyable way to pass time.
The humour is what carries this game. There are some needed visual tweaks and it could do with music. I also feel the genre of platformer didn't quite make it into the game but with that said, it was an overall enjoyable experience and one of the few games I finished (albeit, with some encouragement from the developer).
Fucking hilarious writing. Really cool screens that allow you to investigate crime scenes as well. This game does a lot right and a few things wrong. With a little polish and some minor design changes, this is sure to be a solid title worth paying for.
Near perfect audio-visual experience. Solid execution.
What shines here is the inherently funny concept and the mental image of the ghosts playing poker with pacman. Really cool concept!
Fantastic visuals and audio, albeit not always suited for its purpose. On the occasional visual feedback and audio track, I'd go back to the drawing board to achieve a more cohesive and enjoyable experience. If this game can double down on what seems to be its philosophy, it would be worth paying for.
A very interesting concept that I feel lends itself very well to a school environment. With a few tweaks, this could for sure be the kind of game you would give to kids in school to learn to type.
I think the visual representation is where this game shines. The animation, the art etc is super well made. The music is cute and the sounds are well suited to the game! Well done!
Really good use of some sounds and fantastic atmosphere. Things got really tense on occasion and the game felt les cheap than a lot of horror games. Add some meat and polish and you've got yourself $10.
The game has nice and clean visuals so good job on that front. I think the design needs to be revisited and altered a little to make the game more enjoyable and the audio could also be improved and expanded. There is some generally solid production quality considering the time you had to make the game, though. Well done.
Despite some conflict in game design and lack of SFX, there is a tried and tested concept here that just needs some tweaking and polish to shine. good effort.
Despite the simple visuals and audio, the design language is clear and non-intrusive (with the exception of the main menu colour scheme).I also miss the arcade elements and feel that there are ways to include it into the core concept of a simulator like this. Good effort!
Good visuals and suitable audio to create a good mood but, the game mechanics are clearly not finished and it was a little frustrating to not always have the opportunity to say what I wanted to say. Also, pls fix gremar.
9df29df3723c916b6bd58c1632ef3897.jpg
I made dis. The game is fun to play and puts you into a zen like state. I just wish it had some more sound effects for the different structures being built and so on. With expanded gameplay, I'd totally buy this shit :D
This game is wonderful and very charming. The atmosphere created by the visuals and audio from start to finish is spectacular. I think the concept is solid but the game warrants a few tweaks to bring it to its full potential. Very well done!
Excellent use of visuals and audio; it only needs some minor tweaking to truly strike fear into the player. Solid work.
Very good use of theme; the mix of hectic bullethell micro play and slow macro based memory based objectives is entirely incompatible in nature and you still made it into a digestible experience. Awesome job.
Generally solid and lots of nice QOL additions on the menu (like satisfying sounds and dynamic feedback on sliders). A few design tweaks and this could be really fun. Good effort!
@dantiger In regards to the idea to slow time down, "Time Warp" was a card that didn't make it in but it was part of the 40 planned cards.
Cool concept that is crippled by the lack of audio. It is a decent use of the theme and a well conceived game idea with a surprising amount of variety. I can't help but feel that time management could have been directed a little more towards auditory efforts, rather than more visual assets.
Although I don't necessarily "get it", it was an interesting experience and I jammed out to the music.
In general, the game has implemented very solid design on all fronts. A few tweaks here and there and this could easily be a commercial product.
The visual design language was a little confusing at times where a ledge could be blue rather than red when it was a jumping off point; if the visual design was a little more consistent, the game would feel better to play.
With that said, with some minor tweaking to the levels so that everything feels like it follows the rhythm properly, this could very easily be a commercial product. Solid work in general!
Solid execution of a simple game. It could quite easily be made into somewhat of a puzzle game if the player had more knowledge of what weapons were going to be found on what bodies and there were obviously better use-cases for each weapon, giving the player incentive to carve out an optimal route.
Doesn't commit any game design crimes but isn't something that blew me away either. With some expanded gameplay and polished visuals and audio, this could be a lot of fun.
Fun concept and unintentionally hilarious through what is essentially slapstick comedy. With some visual polish and expanded gameplay, this would be ready to sell.
Great visuals that lack a little bit of beefy sound to back it up. With some audio tweaks and gameplay feedback, this game would be solid.
Reminds me a lot of minion masters.
Fun concept that is inherently funny. Pleasing music tracks and serviceable sound effects! Well done! :D
Very interesting experience. I feel this demonstrates a few different themes quite well and mechanics that could go well into larger games. Solid production!
Impressive menu screen; it got me pretty hyped. Also impressed by how disappointed I am :P I joke but I do feel the game needs a native English speaker to make the game better. A text game with confusing text is not a good way to go; find de way to go.
Good mix of visuals and audio, though.
The gravity card crashes the game consistently :( I would have liked to start with more mana initially as it seems the game is borderline impossible once they get too far ahead.
Maybe I just suck, though.
Other than that, the game idea itself is pretty neat (and sort of similar to our game in terms of card implementation).
Well done!
The bugs made it hard to enjoy but there is some potential here. I feel a better direction would have been to set up predetermined layouts as puzzles for the player to solve. Also, the audio could have been better. Good effort.
Cute artstyle but lacking in readable visual design. The audio is serviceable and the gameplay needs to cook a little longer to be fully realized. There is potential here, though. Good job.
Really good visual/auditory design; no strict flaws. The gameplay worked surprisingly well and was pretty fun, even though I suck ass through a straw. Awesome submission
The biggest issue is simply bugs. Fix those and the game would be far more enjoyable. Well done, either way.
Great potential if the game was expanded either with humorous dialogue or multiplayer and tightened controls. Great effort!
Among the best games part of ludum 41 in terms of visuals and audio. I think some tweaking to the gameplay in terms of balance and scope, along with some additional humour and this could easily be a commercial product. Extremely well executed.
Incredible compo entry. Visually pleasing and hilarious. Could use music and some more sound effects. I'd also like to see some more troop structure control (like being able to assign snipers to the back and possibly order them individually to pull aggro etc).
Really solid visuals and audio! It's a simple concept but is put together super well! I love the humour and only wish there was more of it (maybe through dialogue etc). Great work!
So the concept is pretty neat and I think with a little tweaking, there is a real gem of an arcade game here. The idea of solving the puzzle of tetris while dodging the pieces made me think of a construction worker (the player) shouting orders to people above and having to constantly dodge the pieces of construction being lowered. As an idea, this has great potential! Well done!
Rough but, mechanically solid! A little bit of a large file, though :P
Fantastic visual and auditory design with a good sense of humour to boot. Giving this game a little more meat in terms of progression would make it a potential 5/5 in a lot of categories.
Straight up 5/5 visuals. Whoever did the art, pat yourself on the back like the main character pets the dog! The music was decent, albeit, a little derivative. The SFX were good and generally, I liked the concept! solid entry!
As is, this is a really good example of meeting the theme's requirements and a relatively fun entry. I think it needs a little meat added to the visuals and for sure needs some audio controls but all round, cool game.
Graphics and audio are top notch and do very well what they set out to do. The atmosphere created by the assets is also fantastic. The hints for the puzzles are a little confusing in their design and I feel like a different approach would be more fair to the player.
Visually, this game is top notch! I think it could benefit from a few quality of life tweaks but generally, it is a solid entry and a good example on how to do this theme right. Also, rage.
The music is really nice to jam to :P
I wish the game was longer and I also wish the game characters had different things to say depending on the towers you used (I never used missle towers for example so it would be fun to see that tower get mad).
Great work, though!
Fun idea with major potential for expansion. A great example of readable text, which some text games still get wrong.
If charm was a category, you'd win hands down. I didn't expect to see such a delicate, beautiful game but here we are! The visuals, the sounds; it all comes together wonderfully! Well done!
It's a cute game with wonderful visuals. I only wish it had some more dialogue as I encountered a repeated prompt after just a few minutes which pulls you a little out of the experience.
The game looks decent and sounds good, so well done there. I wish there was some more variation in the visuals and maybe a little more integrated humour. I enjoyed the core gameplay loop but think there needs to be some tweaks to the artillery mechanic before it truly feels good to play.
Generally fun idea, only neutered by lack of time. With polish, including the option to go in reverse, this game could potentially shine on mobile platform.
With some expanded gameplay, a grim battlefield background and some fitting music, this could easily be a commercial title. Extremely solid work all round and great concept!
I figured I'd comment here so you see it easier :P I'd be totally up for helping you make your next LD entry. I think you have some of the best concepts and consistent quality. I do sound work and you can hear my work on my LD entries :)
I love the visuals and the audio is really fitting. I had no idea what to do with the cubes but hey, I am a dumb shit so I guess that's me.
Really good work!
Although it has potential for great improvement, it isn't that enjoyable as an experience in its current state. The best I can say is that it lives up to the theme very well.
Would be better without its current music but the game is otherwise relatively well put together and has a charming look. Some balance changes are in order, though. Solid effort!
For a compo entry, this is pretty well made! I'd zoom the game out a little bit and make the background move slower than the foreground so that my eyes don't die.
The concept is good, the art is fantastic and the music/sound is very fitting! I only wish the game worked properly for me to try it out. I could not seem to shoot the UFOs as bullets would not collide. Maybe I did something wrong. Still, I can see a lot of love went into it! good work!
Brilliant visuals and audio. I think if they doubled down on the theme and expanded in terms of humour and made the visuals more comfortable to look at, this could be a gem.
Incredible game and really well polished. Minor tweaks and this is essentially in line with quality commercial games.
I enjoy the concept, so it's unfortunate that the character sometimes gets stuck and can't jump while on top of an object. Well done on your entry, nonetheless!
If you could give the player more incentive to place objects all around the map rather than just in front of the goal as well as add some sfx, this could become a solid title. Awesome effort for your age, though.
I only have myself to play with which is a shame as it seems this game would shine in 2 player mode. As is, it is a valiant effort at meeting the theme requirements and with polish has some potential.
this is a pretty fun concept that requires some balancing and polish to bring it out of average territory. Give it some more love!
The game suffers from a few classic game design flaws such as artificial difficulty. I think if the level design and introduction was a little more methodical in nature and allowed the player to soak in the challenge ahead a little more, it could make for a fun puzzle game. Visuals are top notch and although audio is serviceable, it clashes with the visual feedback.
