I'll try to answer you all at once to avoid spamming!
@brandondev Yes! I was worried I spent far too much time playtesting, even while recording I noticed myself losing focus and just mucking around with the engine BUT it seems all that was worth it to try to achieve that polished feel. Btw, I left a message on your game too in case you haven't seen it yet :)
@judy-kim Yeah! would you believe the voice also being a tutorial was a last minute decision? Actually I suppose almost all of the decisions feel last minute! Haha. It's super good to hear that it wasn't frustrating - one of my biggest received criticisms in the past and especially with this base code is that I've made the challenges too hard rather than scaling. So again, super duper good to hear that it's not frustrating! Thank you. Also, I loved the ideas behind lena and tubs! I really mean it when I said I'd like to see what you guys can make in the future!
@alina-baybulatova Such kind words! Thank you too! I saw your game as well, you were part of a really big team! I bet the project leader was pretty good to organize that many people.
@chesiq Dude thanks! I'm glad you had fun, I wish I had more time for all the upgrades I initially wanted! Ah well, I suppose that's just how it goes, huh? I just opened a link to your game - psychedelic horror! God damn I love that sort of thing. After I get this message out I'll more than likely download it and give it a go! :D
@adrijanc Damn I'm getting like, kind of emotional from all this positive feedback. Something about your comment just made it all feel more real. Thanks for letting me know about the dash too! I was considering taking it out but since I had it setup in the base code already I thought I might as well pop it in lol. I'm glad you say the art is consistent too! My biggest regret is using blender for the player, enemy and cage sprites because in the end I feel like handmade sprites would've been clearer and easier to animate - along with being able to get the lighting on the player character correct. Just had a look at your game's page, I'm a bit of a hoe for lowpoly 3d so you can be sure I'll add it to my que of tabs to check out today! I personally want to move to 3d permanently and probably will now too.
@becky-rayner Dude you're too kind! Like, really! Haha. Yeah! If you wanted some pointers on work ethic I made a spreadsheet with workflows for different processes from blender to video editing to 2d art to meal efficiency to 3d clothing to physics and those are just the umbrella topics. Also my personal brain-hack is that I know how much social pressure effects me. I use my weakness as a strength by recording myself work - you see if I'm recording myself then I will subconsciously avoid getting distracted because of how much I hate getting embarrassed. Also if you're curious about any specific part of the process I at least half-heartedly labeled the recordings in the playlist above! Lastly, just had a look at you're game and I'm really excited to check this one out because witches = Halloween and that is DEFINITELY my FAVOURITE theme EVER. xD
@timur-bahadir I'm really glad you liked it! Even more so now that I saw you made a furry game! Hahaha! Well I suppose it's not exactly furry... adding it to my que of games to check out - really hoping I have time today after work and checking out everyone else's!
@zazz0000 YEEESSS! I had a LOT of fun doing the recordings, especially "UNSTAAAAAAAABLE LOOOAD!" Hahaha! I remember laughing a lot merely while doing the voices. When I was thinking of a game by the end of Sunday i realized that it HAD to be that line! Oh - dude I just looked at you're game and I am PUMPED to get to that one! Those textures... those MODELS... it gives me massive bioshock vibes and boy HOWDY do I LOVE bioshock! xD
