LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Last Person in Chernobyl Simulator VR by Legolula 2022-04-07T00:33:17Z

The fact that you attempted to make a VR game for a jam is insane! The premise of the game was pretty fun and I thought it was a great take on the theme. Well done!

Loyal Prisoner by RalfZ 2022-04-07T01:11:50Z

Great art, love the innovative approach on the theme. The interactions were a nice touch, well done!

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-06T05:36:29Z

@joe-cowman Thanks for playing! May I ask what platform/browser you are on? I can't seem to reproduce the bug

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-08T07:47:07Z

@snory @stefan-funke

My apologies for the bug, I have a fix but cannot upload it since the game was published under my teammate's itch.io account. The fixed should be uploaded as soon as he is available, but for now the PC download should work!

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-08T21:08:32Z

@mieeh @marin0104 @guy-girmonsky

The fix has been uploaded, thanks for letting us know about the bug!

Wormageddon by MatterLinx 2022-04-08T21:46:59Z

@marin0104 We did not use sprite stacking, just a mix of normal 2D sprites and 3D objects rendered at a low resolution. Thanks for playing!

Over the Rainbow Bridge by Iguanana 2022-04-07T01:05:00Z

A short but great experience. Loved the art style and found it to be touching. Well done!

WLD: Royal Ruckus by dirkinz 2022-04-07T00:16:28Z

You don't usually find board games in game jams, so this is really cool to see. I found the design space of this game to be interesting and fairly well done given the time constraints. I would have liked to see a minimum requirement of two players instead of three to make it more accessible as a jam game. Well done!

Fire Escape by Dj Depressive 2022-04-07T00:19:58Z

This one gave me a good laugh! I really enjoyed the art style here and the voice acting was awesome. The gameplay was also quite smooth which added to the polish. Great job, and thanks for the game!

AIRTIME! by Manny Mallea 2022-04-07T00:36:17Z

A great coherent game that game me a good laugh. The music fit the mood of the game very well, and I liked the art style and polish. I think that making the plane a bit slower would help a lot in hitting it though. Well done, thanks for the game!

I Would Like to Thank the Academy by sprunth 2022-04-07T00:45:27Z

Great narrative and mood you were able to put together. I also liked the humor here, well done!

To Build A Fire by ugly_robot 2022-04-07T00:55:36Z

As others have pointed out, the controls are a bit difficult, but I think it definitely adds to the game. This reminds me of surgeon simulator from back in 2013. Well done!

The Adventure of a Lifetime by JamPaktGames 2022-04-07T00:26:02Z

I found that the art style, mood, and theme were done well here. I felt that the story was the strongest aspect of the game, and the music track at the end was great. I think some better signaling to the player could go a long way. Overall, great submission!

Time DashKing by Tryston 2022-04-07T01:16:34Z

Vomit Mage by jsec 2022-04-07T00:29:43Z

I think the overall direction of the game and graphics of the game were great. Also I loved the different sound tracks added here. The moment to moment gameplay felt a bit lacking though - probably due to the low threat of enemies. Overall, awesome job guys!

Great job on the graphics and lighting. The controls could use some work though. Well done!

Digmon by ErkaNec 2021-04-28T08:14:43Z

I enjoyed the challenge of the game! I think that the pixel art was good, but the background and colors in general were too saturated which made it a bit hard to stare at for extended periods of time. Well done on this submission!

Westest Showdown by Nachodlv 2021-04-28T08:27:41Z

Good job on this game. The graphics were good and the gameplay was interesting. I would suggest adding a way to get more ammo though, unless I missed that.

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-04-27T07:56:55Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We recognize the difficulty curve issue - we were a bit pinched on time with the level design. Checkpoints were also bugged, so that didn't help!

Just wondering, would anyone be interested in a steam release for a more fleshed out game?

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-04-30T19:15:05Z

@crazyrems I'm glad you enjoyed it! The game is definitely missing a tutorial area to teach the mechanics. Unfortunately we ran out of time for level design!

It's cool that you managed to play with a controller! I don't believe I got around to adding controller support for the gun.

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-01T02:15:47Z

@exopunk Thanks for the feedback and kind words. We will be starting development on steam release soon, a lookahead mechanic will definitely be on the list of features!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-01T02:20:39Z

@danmedeiros Haha, we don't like the level design either - time was not kind to us in that regard. The more polished release will definitely feature more thoughtful level design, we'll take a page from Celeste's book on that front. Stay tuned!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-01T02:22:27Z

@raptor851 I am assuming you aren't on Windows? Let me know and I will try making a build for the platform you are on!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-01T03:51:14Z

@raptor851 The linux build is up, hopefully that works out for you

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-02T10:56:14Z

@steven-c @meritcoding Sorry, that was the result of our unfortunate level design! The intended method of crossing the pit is to use the weapon recoil in combination with a jump. This should clear it up for you: https://youtu.be/W7P1hFsvYQo

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-03T04:07:16Z

@chris1919 I had the same thought with lighting the other side of the pit... only after submitting the game. Thanks for the review!

Rabbit Rappel by MatterLinx 2021-05-09T03:01:01Z

@dans17 No it's just sprite sheet animation with dynamic rotation and scaling. Also we had to squash the sprite vertically since it was too tall, that resulted something that looks rendered.

Subterrene by SamarthMP5002 2021-04-29T00:45:14Z

Cool game, felt polished and complete. I think the art style was a bit conflicting though. Overall the game was fun

Infinite Tunnel by Tero Pulkkinen 2021-04-28T08:24:32Z

Interesting approach to the theme. I thought the graphics were good but it was a bit noisy with the number of objects on screen combined with the contrast.

I loved the hard drawn style of this game. I felt the it fit well with the direction and theme of the game. Good job

Falling Flat by bonicle 2021-04-28T08:09:35Z

Operation: Sub-Deep by BatJak03 2021-04-29T01:07:52Z

The controls and overall game feel felt good. The shop feature was also cool. The only downside here is that the game was a bit too simple for my taste. Good job!

How Deep is Your Love by Bruno Cafe 2021-05-01T05:02:29Z

This game was really well done. The beginning and end cutscenes were a nice touch. I can tell a lot of work was put into this game by the variety of models and level elements. The music and sound effects were also well done. Overall, your team did a great job!

Dig the socials by badabooom63 2021-04-28T08:16:34Z

I enjoyed the change in pace that this game offered compared to others. I think the music got a bit repetitive though. I enjoyed the story, well done.

Objective Atlantis by Catoryu 2021-04-29T00:41:35Z

I really liked the art style of this game. As mentioned I think a coop version of this would be cool!

Space Sail Away by carpaccino 2021-04-29T00:37:44Z

I liked the idea of the game, but the mechanics felt odd and the gravity didn't seem natural. Besides that well done

I liked the mechanics of this game. It was a bit harsh at times, but the integration of the theme was well done. Nice

Loved the art in the game. Nice job!

Swim Deep by StyledSnail 2021-04-29T00:54:09Z

The mechanics were easy to understand, but I thought the graphics were a bit underwhelming. I think a restart button would be a good addition. Overall this was a good entry

Pink Grey by ccglp 2021-04-29T00:37:00Z

I really liked to color palette of this game. The sound design was also nice. Well done

Aggies Adventure by Tom Ruxley 2021-05-10T22:04:14Z

I though this was a unique approach to the theme of this jam. The pacing of the game felt a bit fast. Other than that well done

U Cave by RoueSoify 2021-04-28T08:06:59Z

Good job on this game. The physics mechanics of the game was something in common with our LD48 game. I think the parallax was kinda messed up though and the graphics could have used some more polish. Overall I would say this was a good effort!

Bad Night by vknauss 2021-04-29T00:36:04Z

Good job on the updates. I think the final result is quite enjoyable. Good job

LD49 — Unstable

Pop Shove-It by ColeSlaughter 2021-10-09T09:43:57Z

Awesome job with this submission. I really liked the idea of using a phone that you can move rotate to control the table. At first I thought the controls wouldn't be great, but after playing for a couple minutes I ended up really liking it. The details in the UI were done very well and I thought the experience was very enjoyable. Great job guys!

Tesla Coil by marbles 2021-10-09T09:38:41Z

Great job with this submission. The idea of your defense being unstable made for a unique mechanic that I have not seen before. I think the balance of the game was a bit off with the coil attacks being random and the enemy movement speed being too high. Also, I think the controls were a bit counterintuitive when you need to repair the coil because you have to take your hands off the mouse. Overall, I enjoyed playing your game!

Lapis Vitae (Point&Click Adventure) by MelekTaus 2021-10-09T09:58:25Z

Great job with the level design and amount that you got done for this game. I liked the puzzles and thought that the progression through the level was interesting. The only thing that I would improve is the readability of some of the level elements, I didn't realized that some of the normal looking level objects which were not highlighted were important. Besides that, great job!

Reliance (Working Title: ~Generating Cosmic Forces by Eric Schmiel 2021-10-09T09:49:47Z

I thought that this was an interesting concept and approach on the theme. I understand that this wasn't quite finished for the jam, but I can definitely see what you were going for. Your post jam version is definitely an improvement! Good job!

Mysterious Mine by TheGamerASD 2021-10-09T09:29:32Z

Very good atmosphere with this one. I liked that the breakers made sounds to make them easier to locate. I think a good edition to the game would be to add traps. As some have mentioned, more landmarks throughout the level would have helped with getting a better sense of where you are - but besides that well done!

Oh, Hello? by itsBoats 2021-10-09T06:47:57Z

Very good take on the theme. I loved the humor and physics mechanics in the game which lead to some interesting scenarios. The only minor issue I had with the game is that the player felt like he was on ice. Besides that, very good submission!

Earthquakes and Monsters by FancyReckless 2021-10-09T09:32:03Z

I liked this game a lot. I think the balance between the different mechanics like defense and housing was a cool dynamic. The one thing that I would add is a display for the stats when you need to make a decision. Besides that small nitpick, this game played very well. Good job!

Improbability Fighter by Wendel Scardua 2021-10-09T09:52:23Z

Super cool that this was an NES game. I liked the mechanic of switching both visually and mechanically (especially the Tetris piece). Awesome job!

I do wish there were more challenging enemies, but overall, a great game with some unique mechanics that I hope to see more of in the future!

Dragon Express by raptor851 2023-05-05T03:22:35Z

This game has a lot of potential, with unique mechanics and a great atmosphere. The idea of survival and planning ahead with items is really interesting, and the artwork adds to the overall experience. While the battles might feel a bit random at times, the feeling of being a small part of a larger world with no clear direction adds to the overall charm of the game. With some polish and refinement, this game could be a great addition to the roguelike genre.

R&D (Research & Delivery) by thormoth 2023-05-05T04:14:29Z

Overall, a great effort with potential for future development!

Delivery Frenzy! by August1413 2023-05-05T03:41:05Z

This game is awesome! The combination of shooting deliveries while dodging cars is surprisingly fun and challenging. I appreciate the simplicity of the gameplay, but the traffic combinations can make it really difficult at times. The unique mechanics of the game make it stand out, and it's easy to get into. Well done!

I thought this was a lot of fun to play, with a unique and strategic gameplay mechanic of carrying pizza while fighting enemies. Frontier Express by Waysneighborgo2 2023-05-05T03:28:04Z

This game has a really entertaining concept that sets it apart from other games. The chaotic gameplay and the addition of a self-driving truck mechanic make for an interesting challenge. The game is also full of hilarious obstacles that add to the overall fun. Although the controls may be difficult at first, crashing into other vehicles and overtaking them is still enjoyable. Overall, a great effort by the developer.

Sage & Summonion by JuicyBrucey 2024-04-18T02:18:22Z

I really enjoyed the game's feel and polish; it's impressive for a jam game! The combat was challenging, needing direct spell aim. Perhaps add a tutorial hint for equipping spells from the inventory. Exploring more spell combinations could expand the game nicely. Keep refining it!

Three Realms TD by Redmori 2024-04-18T02:17:45Z

I really liked the innovative tower arrangement feature, allowing strategic flexibility. The art style grew on me, evoking that classic NES charm. Perhaps consider adding more tower synergies to encourage varied gameplay strategies. Keep up the good work!

Loved the destructible terrain and physics in your game; very engaging! Consider slowing the movement a bit and breaking platforms into smaller pieces for better playability. Adding clearer goals and feedback would also enhance the experience. Great foundation—keep refining!

Throes of the Javelin by MatterLinx 2024-04-17T06:05:15Z

@magnusfurcifer Thanks for feedback, I'm glad you liked it! We became way too accustomed to the controls by the end and may have made it a bit to hard  If you still wanna play through the rest I can help with the part you're stuck at!

@lushboy-studios Thanks for playing! The current version is compatible with controllers on my end, though it seems that may not be the case for everyone. If you're interested in trying it out, please feel free to do so!

KekLuck's Summoners Colosseum by KekLuck 2024-04-18T02:11:41Z

Interesting concept with the summoning defense mechanics—I appreciate the variety of animals and their unique roles, especially the tactical use of the squirrel. I felt the game might benefit from allowing player attacks to add to the excitement. The animal sounds added a fun twist! Keep refining your ideas; they're on a great track!

Party's Over by seanz 2024-04-18T02:16:39Z

I enjoyed the clean music and pixel art, capturing the grimreaper vibe well. The subtle UI jokes were great! However, the summons feel underpowered and gameplay clarity could be better. A gradual increase in ghost speed might be a positive change. Keep at it!

To our hell by Vasulvius 2024-04-17T06:35:40Z

Nexus by denvil 2024-04-17T06:10:38Z

Love the concept! It took a bit to figure out the hero deployment mechanic, but once I got it, it was smooth sailing. The music is catchy, adds a nice vibe. Maybe some visual cues for hero and quest statuses could help. Great work overall!

The Summoning by butterinabucket 2024-04-17T06:13:40Z

Summoning Tower by Julian France 2024-04-18T02:12:49Z

I really enjoyed the real-time interaction and the combination of tower defense with active player involvement—very innovative! However, starting with just a sword felt a bit slow. Perhaps introducing early towers or power-ups could add some initial excitement and help make boss battles more manageable. Keep up the creative work!

Revenge of Lord Chicken by Sergio_gp11 2024-04-17T06:23:13Z

Love the humor in this game! The concept of hunting down chickens is hilariously creative, and that wizard hat adds a nice touch. Gameplay feels smooth, and the graphics are definitely fun. Could use some sound effects and animations, but overall, a great experience!

Phone Homies by IonBingo 2024-04-17T06:12:13Z

Your game has a really intriguing concept! The art style is fantastic, and the puzzle element kept me engaged. I did find it a bit challenging to understand the goal and how to match up the different codes, but once I got the hang of it, it was quite enjoyable. Some additional clarity on the objective and progress indicators would be really helpful. Keep up the great work!
