It's an interesting idea, I really would like to explore an alien planet this way! However, the game was way too dark and I struggled with mostly everything. Wasn't sure what kept killing me, but I died a lot. Good attempt.

michaelyount 2021-04-27 05:49

Hello, I played your game, The controls turn too fast, but overall I really liked it. It was like No Mans Sky. Thanks for your work.

whysguy52 2021-04-27 05:50

I'm not sure if i can even play it. Sensitivity is WAY too high. Is it my PC?

kudneus 2021-04-27 05:57

pretty nice idea, i like graphics, good game but i dont know how to regen this oxygen i guess bar to sweem deeper

vitor-milioni 2021-04-27 05:58

It's a cool concept, I liked the exploration, loved the voice guiding you, the atmosphere feels cool, and using the little underwater "dungeons" as a battery recharging outpost is very neat. The sensitivity is waaaaaaaay too high though, and the monsters themselves don't behave in particularly interesting ways, but overall it was a cool little experience, if it was polished in some ways i really think this could be something incredible, very great job!

matterlinx 2021-04-27 06:06

I enjoyed the mood, but I felt it was too dark and the aim sens was too high.

lepoulet 2021-04-27 06:17

Nice graphics and the split screen is a good idea. The game was a bit too dark. Sensitivity with the mouse is too much but playing with pad is ok. Remember me subnautica. Well done guys.

arthur-mairs 2021-04-27 07:28

Bugfixed version has been pushed, apparently its okay to do, as the sensitivity was way too high, and there was a game breaking bug that is now fixed! tagging you guys to let you know its not your PC! @lepoulet @vitor-milioni @whysguy52 @michaelyount

bauke-regnerus 2021-04-27 07:51

The graphics are have a nice dark mood. Stuggled with the controls a bit. Reminds me of Subnautica.

wobbleblocks 2021-04-27 11:44

I have updated the page to have the Web GL version so no download is necessary to play our game!

mathewcst 2021-04-27 13:32

Nice little game. Reminded me a lot of subnautica in some ways. I just missed some sort of mouse sensitivity option, and a more clear way for aiming the enemies. The red dot is really small.

Besides that, found a little bug where I left the first "ship" trying to dive to the next one I kept being teleported back into the ship I just left.

Besides that, awesome game, really enjoyed the voice over too. Congrats

leorid 2021-04-27 13:40

Nice concept, game working well except that at one point a spider pushed me into a wall and I got stuck (one of those 4 legged things, first area where they are introduced). I feel like the big ones should be the first enemy type as they are easy to see and shoot. Some indicator that you are being attacked would be nice. Death sounds of enemies are good, also the crosshair works well. Overall it is pretty nice to play and things are working fine - detection range of enemies is quite low, so you can stand and shoot them down without being noticed by them.

What I would add: "Respawn at Checkpoint" in the Menu, Sound + Visual for losing health.

Also I played the first two levels without noticing that there is a health and energy bar, because they are not visible in the web view. Setting the CanvasScaler to "Expand" (I guess, or another setting, idk) would fix this.

Also for a jam game this is quite long. The leveldesign is really nice and the controls are tight. ^^

ricna 2021-04-27 16:27

I liked the game a lot, but unfortunately the music was boring me so much that I needed to stop :( Is just my opinion ofc, but even games with an amazing song I prefer to remove that after some time, and this game has a very repetitive and short couple of notes... Would be amazing to have an option to turn off that noise.

I found some bug in the aim system, not sure how to reproduce but happened something about 5 times, you can't move to the left without reason but after to shoot the rotation start to work again.

Despite the song I really liked the game and would like to play more time for sure, but that noise kills me :disappointed:

That said, in the end I really liked the game  Keep on the great job guys!

thejonu 2021-04-27 17:06

The music made the whole gameplay somewhat frustrating. Apart from that, everything's very well put together. I really like the alien models and animations.

almighty-games 2021-04-27 19:42

I got entrapped into your game and ended up playing a little longer than I usually allow myself during these voting sessions. That's a good thing however. I will definitely come back to finish what I started when I have time to take it more leisurely. Great entry into the jam. best of luck. you should do well.

webox 2021-04-27 19:53

Hey nice job!! Some subnautica vibes going on here!! It's always nice to see an FPS on a gamejam, sfxs were a bit loud for me, other than that the game feels really cool, and misterious, it invites to explore.

It's a very moody games, as some postjam improvements you could add some more animations to the enemies to make them feel more alive, also a hit indicator would be cool, like shaking or color changing or something like that.

Very nicely done, congrats on your game!!

okaylobster 2021-04-28 08:05

Fun game! I love the idea of going deeper into the water to look for parts! It reminds me of Subnautica. But I kept on getting teleported back to the first downed ship.

revilo 2021-04-28 08:09

@okaylobster That could be due to energy usage, at every ship there is a Generator that powers up you're yellow bar, if that gets empty you will start to take damage and return back to the ship. Thank you for checking out our game :D

vsi 2021-04-28 08:12

really nice idea, nice 3d models, it's nice that thre is firstperson, good job!

heremeus 2021-04-28 08:31

Definitely an interesting idea! Loved the mood of the game. I had the same issue with getting teleported back to the ship. Didn't realise there is a yellow energy bar (or a health bar) as it doesn't show in the web version unless you go fullscreen.

hilvon 2021-04-28 09:21

Played the game towards what I felt like completion. Though apparently the game did not inplement the win state.

Puzzles in the game are fun and obvious enough. The only one I had problems with was to open the room with the lockdown-creating artefact. But then again - apparently you don't have to.

Graphic assets are simplistic but witting for the game.

Enemy AI is not the most sophisticated one, and often you can shoot the enemy dead before it starts reacting to you. So the game relies on hiding the enemies behind the corners to add tension. A little bit cheap, but works for a 48 hour game. :)

The music is nice. I only started getting tired of it, when I was getting tired of the game as a whole.

Which happened when I managed to beat the boss, shut down the lockdown artifact, and then nothing happened. I didn't get the notification that I need to go deeper, so I assumed I need to return to my ship to win the game... and so I did. This also didn't give me any "You win" notification, so I suppose the authors simply didn't bother to add sich a screen to the game, but while going up I got pretty annoyed at the game and particularly the "energy" mechanic. You hardly get enough energy to travel from ship to ship using a marker. But you are also expected to fight the fish, and collect datapads along the way? Anf you only replenish the energy at the generators that are deep inside the ship. So if you had to fall back and want to try swimming again - you have to firs nafigate the whole ship to rechgarge, and then navigate back to the exit. And on my fools errand of going up I had to do this with every ship. This effectively turned the game into a slog and smeared the overall impressions of it.

arthur-mairs 2021-04-28 09:24

@hilvon The datapad next to the final generator prompts you to get into the room next to you. which is locked, just like other locked doors in the game, you must find the override consoles. then you can enter the final room (now unlocked) to finish the game.

verlanman 2021-04-28 09:34

Very nice idea. Nice animations and 3D models

hilvon 2021-04-28 09:39

@arthur-mairs I did enter the room with the antennae-looking thing impaling the ship. Looks good, but nothing happened when I did.

gramozilho 2021-04-28 10:02

Nice atmosphere! The music is a bit repetitive though. After leaving the first site I kept getting teleported back into the first site (almost made it to the second site once, the other attempts I kept spawning inside site 1)

revilo 2021-04-28 10:17

@hilvon in order to finish the game you have to pull the lever in the final room :D

arthur-mairs 2021-04-28 10:43

@gramozilho You need to recharge your energy at the generators. The energy bar might be hidden if you are playing the web version in windowed mode!

kuviman 2021-04-28 11:01

The game is a bit too dark but it was a great experience anyway!

drew-long 2021-04-28 12:44

Cool kill sounds :smirk_cat: But I found a bug: a spider pull me into a wall and I couldn't free myself

trusty 2021-04-28 16:10

Had a good time playing this. I would maybe try to use raycasts for things like data packs and doors, was a bit weird being able to activate it facing a different way. At first I thought the prompt was for one of the computers by the door. Overall fun time though. Thanks for the game.

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 17:58

Nice game! I really liked the enemy models :) I had a problem with the yellow bar that drained heavily underwater after the first site.

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 17:59

@trusty In Unity raycasting does behave very weird when using WebGL. I would have probably also used a different technique when I had more time :)

pythooonuser 2021-04-28 18:08

Okay, I read some comments and noticed that I was using the generators wrong :D Very cool game!

dazrow 2021-04-28 20:07

Thats quite impressive for one jam. It's obviously stiff here and there, but given the time - the result is very impressive! As for improvements - I'd really love to play in other resolutions (got some cut edges at the top and bottom on ultrawide). And also jumping would give a more natural touch to the movement. Other than than - great job! Good luck!

iaandrei 2021-04-28 20:28

Pretty cool game. Great work!

erik-brendel 2021-04-28 20:41

I am playing the web version, but everything is just black after I click play. I can hear the AI speaking and the gunshots? when clicking the mouse, but the screen stays black. Is this intended, or is there something not working?

sharks 2021-04-29 01:26

I agree with other peoples sentiment that there is a distinct lack of feedback when you are taking damage. I also experienced a bug where my oxygen would not regenerate so I just immediately died upon entering the water. The game was quite dark for me as well making it hard to figure anything out. Skybox looked nice!

revilo 2021-04-29 02:03

@erik-brendel That is not intended, there should be visuals once you are hearing the AI I suggest playing the downloadable version if WebGL is behaving weirdly

revilo 2021-04-29 02:06

@sharks The yellow bar is energy, going to the surface will not refill this as its not oxygen. in order to refill it you will need to approach a generator, there is one in every ship :D

sharks 2021-04-29 02:08

@revilo Ah, I see. I'll give that a try :)

phobos001 2021-04-29 03:49

The sounds are kinda silly but it's hard to make good meaty sounds under such a strict deadline. The game is fun though! I wasn't able to finish though, because after I died once, and tried to go back into the water, I kept getting sent back to the last checkpoint with nothing around me. Really weird. Otherwise this is a great entry :)

revilo 2021-04-29 04:05

@phobos001 Thank you for checking out the game :D you could be respawning due to your energy bar (yellow bar) being empty, this then causes damage. there is a generator located on every ship intended to top that up before travelling. If playing the WebGL the bars are only visible in fullscreen.

revilo 2021-04-29 06:37

@kudneus The yellow bar is an energy bar not oxygen, you need to recharge this at the generators located in the ship. @mathewcst This is a game mechanic due to the energy bar being low, this will cause damage and transport you to the previous ship, before you leave each ship charge up your energy bar and you shouldn't face this :D

legolula 2021-04-29 07:18

Really fun game and a great entry! I didnt fully understand the energy mechanic until I saw your comment. Only thing I think could be improved is the background music, a game like this would have benefitted greatly from more ambient creepy sounds rather than a looping track.

zimny11 2021-04-29 15:02

Good job on the game. I am impressed when someone can create a 3D game in such a short time. The whole story is interesting, the game mechanics are good too. Things where the game could be improved, as others point out: mouse controls are still too fast for me (even after the update), the bullets/shoths were invisible underwater so I didn't know when I had hit something and the music felt a bit repetitive after a while. Besides that, it was fun.

pnkvrt 2021-04-30 12:07

Great job! It's impressive you did all this in such a short time. A few notes:

-The enemies should definitely make some noise when they move or when they attack you. A few times I died without knowing what actually hit me because I didn't see the smaller ones behind/around me. -The hit boxes are a bit messy. Even though I was relatively far away from some enemies they still managed to land a hit. Also the boss managed to hit me through the containment door. -That goes for the enemies as well. Most I killed with headshots but some just wouldn't die that way. I had to shoot different places untill it worked. -At first I was a bit confused with the boss I thought I could kill him before I realized what I actually had to do. That could just be me though :D.

That said there's a lot of things you did great. The overall gameplay is great! I love the exploration. Going through abandoned underwater places fighting weird creatures is super cool and eerie. The boss battle was clever. The story elements were good. Love the audio cues when you find tablets and when new areas are unlocked. I think with a little polish this could be an amazing game and I would love to play a post LD version of it. Well done!

arthur-mairs 2021-04-30 13:43

@pnkvrt Thanks so much for the feedback! i will admit we somehow overlooked the enemy sounds + the feedback on getting hit, still not sure how! we will definitely be working on a post LD version, and will release after the play+rate ends. We have already done a bunch of fixes and added some things.

lesinvisible 2021-04-30 20:18

Wonderful atmosphere with my favourite space theme! It's amazing that you managed to create a 3D game, along with music, sounds and voices. Mouse is a bit too sensitive for my taste, but the overall controls feel nice.

mxbi 2021-04-30 20:29

Cool little game! was fun to play - I echo some of the points about audio but I can't complain since unlike us you made your own music!

But I love how it's a cohesive experience as opposed to just a single "minigame"-style mechanic, that's impressive in three days.

neontropics 2021-05-02 00:00

The overall graphics and vibe of this was great! And the monsters were appropriately creepy. I liked the woman robot voice.

The water didn't feel quite watery in graphics nor controls so that part felt a bit strange, and I had to go back and read the text here to get the generator and health behavior.

imphenzia 2021-05-02 11:36

Hi, I've never attempted to do a 1st person entry for LD - like the amount of content you got in once you got down into the different underwater stations. I had some issues were my screen go back, was that because I died or was it a glitch? I was reading the captains log for example, and then it went black - but then I noticed I had some leeches behind me that I took out so I assume they killed me when I was reading? :) I didn't have enough time to play it properly but nice job on your entry!

revilo 2021-05-02 15:23

@imphenzia The screen does go black when you die, once you die you will be respawned inside the ships doors if that happened then yes that's intentional, Thank you for playing our game!

jose-arturo-pereira 2021-05-03 00:19

Nice Game! the mood reminds me of HalfLife!. but i had a bug collecting the paper on the ship, i couldn't close the UI. but, overall, the game is really fun!

leonardo-coyado 2021-05-03 17:02

I really enjoyed the game! Great work!

dobrila 2021-05-03 17:11

the audio was not loud enough for me, i liked the level design. i couldn't really get when i was being attacked, the attack sound didnt coincide with the dmg applied. overall great game, well done !

gorethumb 2021-05-04 05:09

there were a few quality of life things i felt the game could benefit from, for instance when reaching the end point of the dungeon rooms you should spawn back there or spawn back with full health. i liked the ideas for the enemies very creative and a lot of depth for such a short span of time

cavedens 2021-05-06 13:15

So I'll start with a bit of constructive criticism in case you keep working on this game. The webGL only played correctly if in full screen so you might want to have it scale to fit whatever size screen. Also the audio got very repeatative after a while and the gun control didnt feel great and you could shoot things from far away and that made it pretty easy. Maybe line of sight they start coming at you no matter what? Those few critiques being said... overall it was a great game. Great 3D models for the amount of time and would love to see some animation on them if you go forward. The mood was great and spooky. Loved the voice acting as well.

scruffylooking2121 2021-05-08 03:13

The little creatures reminded me of aliens in Flashback or Fade to Black. Nice use of theme. Interesting mechanic for recharging energy. Really wanted to be able to shoot the oxygen tanks although that would probably be a really bad idea. Thanks for making the game.
