Took me a bit to get the hang of it but once I did I really enjoyed it! Congrats you should keep building on it the idea really works great, I could see this game being among the top scored of the jam

Took me a bit to get the hang of it but once I did I really enjoyed it! Congrats you should keep building on it the idea really works great, I could see this game being among the top scored of the jam
Really fun game, its a promising start if you keep building on it
The kind of game I would spend quite a bit of time on, congrats! Also I feel like the game gets quite meta, am I the greedy dwarf for not being able to stop clicking?
Fun game congrats!
Super fun game and the 2D mixed with 3D works great. I didnt understand what engineering was for though
Although not related to the theme its a cool concept, it would have greatly benefited from some sound and having the image describing the transformations on screen
What an amazing experience, I really felt the dread and anxiety of the main character, and felt as trapped as (s)he did when choosing what to say/think. Congratulation to the team, great entry!
Really coolm the metroidvaniaesque feel really works here. Also the music and mood are on point congrats
The mechanics definitely have potential to keep building on them, especially the zoom out one. The controls could be improved though, namely the combat
I think having a lot of different controls is what makes this game feel great and immersive. A short tutorial for how they work would have been perfect but overall amazing and polished submission
I didnt fully understand the story, but hats of for the art and music of the game, really liked the relaxed and contemplative vibe to it
Fun game, I did find the controls while falling a bit wierd for me though, so I couldnt reach the bottom and see the final screen!
Really like the distopia vibe of it all and the commentary, but I did have the same issues as Untitled Studios
@kszaku I was on windows 10 myself
Such a wholesome game and a great interpretation of the theme, I wish more games went in this direction!
Although missing a tutorial the game was fun and had some great visuals!
A really cool take on the theme, but I think something was wrong on the version I played, I sent a red pepper that blew through all the layers and made me fall through a hole to an area where Dipper was.
@bionikmonster same it was the WebGL version, I'll give the windows version a go
Its a simple but fun game, I only think it would make more sense if gravity decreased as you go deeper to be more realistic. Solid entry!
Pretty amazing that there is a mocap game on a LD, the animations and blends are pretty good for a game made over a weekend. You definitely should keep building on this demo!
Really fun game and a great entry! I didnt fully understand the energy mechanic until I saw your comment. Only thing I think could be improved is the background music, a game like this would have benefitted greatly from more ambient creepy sounds rather than a looping track.
Congrats on this one, amazing art and the game mechanics were pretty fun!
It blows my mind how you could do something so polished for a Compo with so good gameplay. I'll probably learn a lot from checking out your unity project. Thanks for this amazing entry, congrats!
The game sets the mood pretty well, and the cameras were definitely a good design decision, great entry!
Thank you all for your feedback! For me personally it was my first LD and I am really glad you enjoyed it. I completely agree with the game needing polish, and the controls sometimes unfairly punishes players. I'll try to tweak that these next few days!
I like the wierd artstyle! I did have some issues progressing past the fisrt platform, where the red guy kneeling was. Also the "Read this" option on the main menu wasnt working for me
Beautiful game with a lot of great mechanics that could each be expanded upon. I do feel however some of them are in conflict with each other. For example, shooting notes that play a song when them bounce several times is a lot of fun, but the player is discouraged from shooting too much as they lose health when doing so. For me personally not tying health to ammo would greatly improve the game and make it more fun. Otherwise its an amazing entry to the jam
Really great entry, the story was well written and immersive, and the random maps were a nice touch. Only problem I had was that the chromatic aberration effect prevented my from being able to read the text sometimes, especially in the end. I wouldn't remove it though, it really adds something to the game
The digging mechanics are super fun, some sfx would have been nice to make the gameplay even more satisfying but overall great entry
I dont know what it is about mining block that is so adictive but it is! Didnt fully understand what the side bar was but had fun nonetheless
Congrats on the game, it is quite simple but the arcade-y aspect make it fun!
Thanks I'm never cleaning my ears again! Amazing game :D
The aesthetic was perfect for the game and the audio was on point, congrats!
I think I had the same issue, no emulator window showed up for me
Cool I'll give it another go!
This game was so much fun, the camera panning especially was on point, it really make the whole experience even better. Its a shame that some people probably wont be able to play this one, an AI for single player would be a great addition to this game
One of my favorite entries! The game is fun to play and has amazing sound design
Its such a silly idea I love it. Pretty fun game congrats!
I got some slender man vibes here, great mood on this one! Turning to see a giant head managed to be funny and scary at the same time :D
Its a fun idea! I think it would be even more fun with some extra physics simulation, like if it walked wierdly with a shorter leg, but I understand these things can be hard to implment in suh a short time.
A fun and polished game, well done! This could be released as is on the PlayStore, great entry!
Fun game, I feel like with some polish it could work as a mobile game. I agree that the meteor follow camera could use some work and maybe bigger planets would make them interact more between each other and easier to hit. Also great humour and sound design!
Its such a good take on the theme! At some point I was making so much money it was easy to pay the fine at each time though. It is a cool idea to expand upon, great entry!
Ahah estes comentarios vao ficar aqui quando publicarmos o jogo acho
@str8griz yeah screw Kevin! And wait until one day we actually add Rebecca to the game!
@niterich thank you so much!
@codeforjoycaro I'm so glad you liked it! We didn't have much time to play test and devs always have a tendency to make their games harder than they should :stuck_out_tongue: We'll make a version with some fixes and missing art.
@pikario @deav That is a very valid point, it needs a proper tutorial and more visual feedback
@hoffi309 thank you so much! Actually we wanted to add a cutscene at the beggining, that would help explain why a crybaby like Stephen is fighting a giant octopus monster and his goons, but we ran out of time. We'll be making a post jam version with everything we initally wanted to add to the game!
@kukurammus Kevin has a damaged animation but your point is still very valid, it is unclear that you are supposed to hit his hair. Ill fix that today
Really hard game but super fun and overall a great entry
Love the humour, very well done. Only think I'd say is to start with easier levels. Congrats on you entry!
Very cool concept and well polished. I dont agree with some cons but thats just me, its a great take on the theme though :)
Very well done! The mechanics are fun and the levels are well designed. I agree that the controls are a bit unresponsive but if fixed this game would really lend itself well to a speed run type game. To make it even more so turning into a rock should destroy the existing rock so the player doesn't have to way. Overall congrats on the great entry!
I love visuals, I would really like to know how you did the under-res style! The mood is so good it almost makes this a horror game without needing a monster. Thanks for the entry!
Cool game! Its definitely fun and having the angle/power on the top right is a very nice touch!
Very cool take on the theme, the gameplay loop works well and could serve as a base to something more! I felt like the interaction with items was wierd at times and had a hard time placing them but otherwise congrats on the entry!
Really solid all around, great mood, audio, story and I do like these kind of games! A good quality of life change would be to end turn automatically when you can't play anymore. Congrats on the game!
Fun twist on the theme, I didn't read your description at first so really enjoyed the surprise :D
Needs more wall scratching to be accurate! But seriously good job on your entry!
This might be my favorite entry so far. The low res works great, the mood and story hits hard, its a smart take on the theme, congrats!
I love how completely unreasonable this game is, really funny game with a great message. Good try trying to make my computer melt!
One of the most fun ideas I've seen so far! The art seemed a bit inconsistent at times but overall congrats on doing so much in so little time!
Great work on those shaders! I couldn't go back to the initial hub, I keep getting game over, did I miss something?
@thedevatlas I'll give it another go then, I thought I died and the game restarted
So freaking good, so well polished and at some point I just left the game on to listen to the music. Congrats!
@gummibot Yes I knew that it would be hard for people to try it out but I really wanted to give VR a go! I'll be sure to try yours out though
@incobalt Thanks for giving it a try at least, I'll be sure to at least add the basic movement with keyboard + mouse next time.
@jordwest I might have missed something when compiling it, I probably only did it for the Occulus. What kind of headset do you have? I'll try to patch it for yours
@mrventures Thank you so much for playing it! I can't seem to check your video out though, I think it might be private
@luquio I'm glad you liked it! It was my first time doing a VR game, kind of daunting at first but Unity XR is pretty straightforward to setup. Don't hesitate to checkout the source code!
@velvetlobsterI didn't try to build a web version, I wasn't sure it was possible for VR but I'll try to do it tonight, I'll let you know!
@shadowbrain Dude so cool that you took time to patch my game! I'll definitely pull your fork as soon as I have some free time today! Thank you so much these interactions really are the best thing about ludum dare
@jordwest @smilewood With the help of @shadowbrain I released a patch on itch.io that should work correctly with SteamVR, it seems to be correctly recognized by it on my end. Also the red buttons weren't working, that is fixed as well
@shadowbrain thanks! I already rated yours, its really good! All VR interactions feel great and those fluff balls are super well done. If anyone sees this comment definitely give this game a try! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/herdey-vr-only
Right in the feels, really makes you value the story a game tells over having the best gameplay possible. Congrats!
You got me playing over and over again! The indicators were a bit confusing to me but I liked your take on theme and the mood is on point. Congrats on your first compo!
So fun and polished, great job! The aesthetic and art design are on point
Really fun game, congrats on making such a complete and polished entry in 3 days. If I had to make some constructive criticism I'd say the combat is missing some "oompf": particles and texture flash on hit, enemy permanence on death and some screen shake on hit. But I know how these thing are hard to get right, especially in only 3 days.
This is a fun concept congrats on your entry! I think some things to make it even better would be: - A tutorial, or better: introduce potions little by little instead of all at once - Make levels a bit more easy, especially on game jams! Level 2 took me a long time
You could take this and publish it as is on Steam, what an amazing entry. Having a score really ties the game together, it prevented me from taking my sweet time with the statue! If I had one improvement: picking the dropped resources back up felt a bit frustrating at times, it would be nice if the non stunned bunnies could pick them back up
I know this is an extremely simple and not very polished game, but I found it a lot of fun, I played it for quite a bit!
I would increase the turn speed though, it felt frustrating to move at times.
Took me a bit to get the hang of it but pretty fun once I did. Being affectionate to then use that to thrust repeatedly and kill the opponent did make me feel horrible! Overall great entry, an original take on the theme
We are having some issues with uploading and hosting both Desktop and Web versions here, but both are available over on itch.io!
@sofignedova exactly! The game can be done in a few seconds if you have all the necessary knowledge. Pretty useful mechanic for a game jam, no need to code a save system :)
@caladrius so glad you liked it! Outer Wilds was a huge inspiration for the time loop mechanic and we really had to cheat a bit on the 10s part, the game would be extremely frustrating with real-time 10s. And time does go slower when you're scared ;)
@der-finski Its a game where an entity somes at midnight and resets the time back to 23:59:50. I dont want to spoil too much here but your goal is to escape, by finding clues all around you! I'll give you a hint for the first room, there is a code hidden somewhere for the top right door. The controls are: - WASD (or equivalent) to move - SPACE to interact with glowing objects - Left mouse to click on images that sometimes popup
I hope you get to experience the full game, let me know if I can help you do that
I really like this take on the theme, especially your approach to an escape room game. The story and art direction are great, congrats on the entry!
This is the fly simulator I didn't know I needed! A lot of fun though the connection to the theme was a bit forced and not necessary. Great job!
Beautiful experience, thanks for doing this, found myself not doing anything face with the overwhelming amount of options I had. Overall amazing entry
Great idea of a game mechanic, good job on your entry and first game jam! I found the first level quite dificult at first but was pretty nice once I got the hang of it. It definitely needs a tutorial so people can better enjoy your game!
A fun addictive game! The version on itch.io seems to have limited visibility which makes it extremely hard
Very cleverly designed puzzles, probably the most innovative I've seen so far, congrats on your entry, a great take on the theme! I agree the tutorial could be improved a bit, the third level took me a while, but at the end I really felt I wanted more of these puzzles!
Also amazing job on the soundtrack, I particularly like the main menu one, I would have kept it for the whole game but I guess that comes down to personal preference.
Very fun entry, the game mechanics are really original. The only thing I'd change to make it perfect would be to not have to wait the 10s after shooting all bullets
A nice simple game, the autoshooting works well here. If I may make some suggestions to add some more "oomph" to your game: - some screen shake on kills / hits - particle effects - sprite flashing on hit Great job and congrats on your game!
Fun game, amazing music and a great take on the theme congrats! With some more polish this would probably one of the best games in the compo: particles, screeshake, sprite flash, UI and a better color palette
So cool! Short and sweet, very polished and a fun mechanic that fits the theme, congrats!
Let us know what your best score was, I could not do less than 31!
@yndajas So sorry to hear that, there's also a Windows build on itch.io if you want to give that a go. The game might not work on some browsers for the web version
Pretty cool mechanic, I though I could be clever and make a tiny house but you thought of that as well. Overall great submission
As @tildecat said, when exporting for windows with Godot you need to sumbit both the .exe and the .pkg files in a .zip file! Let me know when that is working!
Hey congrats on your first game, you should be proud of your submission, its good for a first time. Here go a couple of tips to make your character feel even better playing: look into giving it coyote time and jump buffering for jumps
This idea has a lot of potential, a great take on the theme and would make for an amazing horror game if you ever consider taking this further.
That was a stressful experience, I loved it! I would make it slightly less hard, especially for a game jam but a fun experience overall.
Got a score of 9960, a fun take on the theme! A bit of screen shake here would be a great addition here
Also great name for the game :D
