I will play!

Cute game! Had a lot of fun with hot demons

joerenglish 2021-10-04 05:29

Cute idea! I like that the title is basically the title of a light novel.

shp 2021-10-04 14:23

enjoyed the name and the concept of the game, but I'm very dumb with games that require heavy multitasking like this lol

zachsbutt 2021-10-04 22:13

maybe im just dumb, but i had a hard time pressing space and the arrow keys every x seconds. its hard to count seconds when your listening to the music (i ended up just mashing and that seemed to work haha). but i loved finding all the different hot demons :3

legolula 2021-10-05 07:10

Its such a silly idea I love it. Pretty fun game congrats!

Really unique idea, I knew I had to play when I saw the name. Initially I thought I had to time the SPACE/ARROW Keys to coincide with set intervals, instead of doing them once every 5/10 seconds and was really struggling. Once I figured it out, it was a much better experience. Enjoyed the variety of questions, especially the ones that referenced previously provided information. Nice job, fit the theme really well.

kantanloop 2021-10-06 06:45

Played this because of the title alone. The instructions confused me a little but I just mashed and things worked out, which is the sign of a good game. I enjoyed the little popup tasks immensely, especially later in the summoning where you have to remember some of your previous answers; reminded me a lot of The Impossible Quiz!

Great title - very baroque! Really draws attention.

The game itself is quite uncomplicated, and there doesn't really seem to be any penalty for pressing the buttons when you don't have to. Would be nice to have a timer with seconds passing in the corner - the player would not have to sit and count the seconds on his own and the gameplay would feel smoother, I think.

I think I missed something, but I was ever only able to summon one type o demon - the blue one. And once I summoned him, I could not get rid of him to start a different summoning. I tried every button - he just stood there, demanding to be loved . The only thing I could do is restart by pressing R.

I really like this concept. The execution could use some work. But it is amazing to me anyway that you were able to make a complete game on your very own in just two days.

Like the handle of the theme to maintaining the stability of a portal. During the whole process my mind is very unstable about the time elapse. I think the background music is some hints of the time passed? But I am not sure. It will be really nice if it has something to do with time and player would know the relationship at the beginning.

Wow, funny game, great programmer art, clingy melody, intrersting mechanics. It is full pack! Good work!

bootak 2021-10-06 18:32

Nice game! Managed to summon 3 out of 7 different demons. On my second try I fugured pentargam rotation is a visual cue for when to press buttons (it makes 1 full rotation in 25 seconds, right?), and summoned 5 demons! Very cute little game, love demon designs (UwU-something was my favorite!) and sounds!

dnabro 2021-10-06 22:07

@bootak Thank you! Honestly the timing of the circle spinning was purely coincidental, I just tried to make it go at a speed that looked nice. Uwubert is my favorite as well.

@mrbell270 Thanks! My music being called a "clingy melody" makes me really happy. I don't come from any kind of musical background so when I make something I think is good and people agree it makes me happy.

@ruofusun Background music was made without game mechanics in mind, just mood. I wish I had that talent to make something that sounded good and was in line with the beats.

@fabula-rasa Learned about that bug after release but that's the price of a game jam. Thanks for playing!

@kantanloop Thank you! The wanted to see if doing a light novel-esqe title would make people more interested and it seems like it works.

@skyward4d Thanks for playing! I should have made the instructions a bit more clear.

@shp Thank you for playing!

@zachsbutt The demons thank you for summoning them as well!

@joerenglish That was the main inspiration for the title. Thanks for checking it out.

@cratthew I'm sure they had fun with you too lol. Thank you for playing.

NĂce game! Really funny concept for the game. The title is indeed very good, haha. The gameplay reminds me of warioware, fun to multitask everything at once :D.

cauldron 2021-10-07 16:41

No macOS build? :-)

dnabro 2021-10-08 02:34

@tygrak Wario Ware was actually the biggest gameplay inspiration! The idea of having 4 lives and mini games basically came from it.

@cauldron I didn't have a Mac to test on so I didn't make a build for it cause I would have no way to verify it would work. Sorry about that. I might have to look into it and put something up regardless.

mathiouza 2021-10-08 02:53

Great concept!

I think it lacks a bit of polishing (some of the commands seems not to work, and the space bar and arrows thing lacks something like a progress bar or a counter), but other than that it's fun! The art is simple but it's ok in my opinion and the music and sounds work well.

Great work!

fiakaiera 2021-10-08 13:41

Not going to lie, I played this for the title's name!

It's a really great concept, but it lacks what makes a game... a game. Sure, the controls are there and you do the things as instructed... but it lacks any visual feedback greatly and you could have dedicated more time on that. There's no knowing if you're doing things correctly or wrongly, and the circle getting smaller isn't really any good sign of that. It does give a feeling of imminent failure though. I was trying to pace myself but I don't see the circle getting bigger or any indication of it getting stable.

In the end I do notice I could just spam the inputs to keep it stable. I was expecting to be punished on that. However, it could be a good move not to place any punishment on doing it too early because of the lack of sense of the time passing.

If you ever want to tackle something like this next time, I do suggest the music being 60BPM (1 beat per second) or 120BPM (2 beats per second) to keep track of time for the player.

Interaction and response is key, and response is something that is greatly lacking. Nonetheless, a good job on the entry!

I wish someone posted a gallery of all hot demons!

lilkrit 2021-10-20 03:38

Like others said, it would help to have a timer or anything else to let me know when to press the buttons. Other than that, cool game!
