Hikari’s Journey 光の旅 — the umbral world by Junber 2021-10-06T05:56:00Z

It was very fun to see a whole narrative play out. Unfortunately I got stuck on one of the block puzzles later on, so I wasn't able to see the end. Still, this is one of the most impressive entries I've tried. Really wonderful job!

Life Unit X330 by Josh6680 2021-10-05T02:03:59Z

A really interesting little arcade game. Trying to juggle keeping the life support system alive and shooting rocks/enemies is really unique. I will say, I felt really hopeless whenever it was destroyed and my death was unavoidable. Nice job!

Tama Town by MaggardJosh 2021-10-04T06:14:23Z

The theme is cute, and I eventually got kinda used to the controls. I even beat a few levels. Unfortunately the the constantly rotating background started to make me queasy so I stopped. Pretty interesting though!

Unstable(d) by minibobbo 2021-10-09T05:46:35Z

I really enjoyed this one! It's pretty much a full game already. I am curious how much distance you have to go before reaching the forest though. I like how sometimes one of the farmers will jump out ahead of the others as a little surprise. I could see myself playing this for a while. Great job!

Greedy Miner by KOHCEPBA 2021-10-04T05:02:32Z

Interest concept executed pretty well! At one point I realized you could stack a lot of houses on top of each other to increase production. If I have any real criticisms its that its not clear what all of the upgrades do. Anyway, nice!

Unstable Ground Squirrel by drpetter 2021-10-05T02:08:42Z

This is really cool. When the ground started collapsing, creating new ways to access the ladders I was really impressed. I was wondering if there was more to it than just getting the acorns, but then I read this page saying it was just a rough prototype. Still, for a prototype it's really interesting!

Midnight Maintenance by Tattomoosa 2021-10-04T06:02:10Z

I'm pretty impressed. I played for quite a while. The text on the signposts were fun. Nice job!

Heat Death by zeta0134 2021-10-09T06:30:42Z

The chatbox mocking while playing is a nice touch. Cute graphics and pretty tight controls too. I do agree with some of the above commenters about the dash cooldown being a little odd though. Still, great job!

The Vortex by Liam 2021-10-04T09:59:28Z

I beat the game. I like the design of the ghosts. Pretty creepy. I think implementing coyote time would help the game a lot. I had no problems with any of the levels until the last one because I kept slipping off the platforms with the high acceleration. I also think the ghost's hitboxes are a little too big. There were several times when I would visibly jump over a ghost only to die by an invisible hitbox. Still, its not bad! I like the theming of closing up an unstable portal with ghosts flying out.

Button's Garden by Matt Heinrich 2021-10-09T06:38:13Z

The art and music is really wonderful. I might try again later, but it seemed like I was only able to plant one kind of mushroom. I'm probably just missing something though. I do think a little more guidance at the beginning would help a bit, though I pretty much figured out what to do by clicking around. Overall, a very cute little game!

Cybotica by neowhoru 2021-10-04T06:20:16Z

This was really great! Super cute pixel art, and the unstable theme is really represented well. Great job!

Escape from Space by Xwilarg 2021-10-09T07:23:18Z

Really interesting game. I think it would make a really cool table top game. My only gripe really is that sometimes reading through the various cards was a chore since they wouldn't always display correctly. Maybe the ui could use a little more development. But all things considered I'm very impressed with that was accomplished in the allotted time. Nice!

Astral Collapse by Richard Baron 2021-10-09T06:50:13Z

The music was the best part for me. For whatever reason zooming out with the scrollwheel didn't work for me, so I played at the default zoom. Would have probably preferred starting zoomed out more and giving the option to zoom in if wanted. Still, its a fun idea executed pretty well. Nice job!

Unstable Magicks by Untitled Studios 2021-10-09T05:30:02Z

Super cool little game! The effects and simple pixel graphics are really charming. The only criticism I have is it's a little difficult to tell when a spell is good to cast or not. I really like having the charging me on the curser, but the current animation makes it really difficult to tell at what point the spell's charge is at. If I play it for longer it might start clicking with me though. Really amazing job!

Cold Eyes by DraperDanMan 2021-10-04T06:43:39Z

Fun little arcade survival shooter.

Path of the Pogo by Human Writes Code 2021-10-06T06:58:14Z

Ended up getting more height just making the player spin wildly. At one point I got stuck on a slope.

Pong-Anoid by Zapturk 2021-10-04T05:09:02Z

A really fun idea! It's a little chaotic trying to play it by yourself, but it would be fun to play with two people huddled over a keyboard. The pixel art is really charming too. Nice!

Solar Colonies by Fenderbate 2021-10-06T06:18:15Z

Super cool game. I love the atmosphere and pixel art. Really well polished too. Great job!

Unstable Concoction by Blueberry_Mauro 2021-10-05T02:16:52Z

The art and music are really wonderful. I like addition of spoken lines. I'm not sure I ever understood how to actually play the game, but I had a good time watching all the cute pixel ingredients fly around

UNSTABLE OSCILLOSCOPE by guine 2021-10-04T05:48:13Z

Pretty trippy. Fits the theme really well!

I Want to Summon a Hot Demon but My Pwr Lvl is too Low so the Portal is Unstable by DNAbro 2021-10-04T05:29:31Z

Cute idea! I like that the title is basically the title of a light novel.

Tripple Trouble by Kamuniaft 2021-10-05T02:46:10Z

This was a really fun idea! I like how the various things you change into give you different attributes for the platforming. The opening cutscene was a nice touch. Good job!

W O B B L E by Gus Goucher 2021-10-09T07:07:03Z

The super stylized graphics and sound are a big plus for me. Moving the blocks felt a little janky, but I guess that fits the theme huh? Overall a really well put together game.

Place Called Home by Kora0h 2021-10-04T05:33:05Z

Not sure I get how to properly play the game, but good job regardless!

Cyberwalk 2049 by Nachodlv 2021-10-05T01:58:34Z

Oooh I like the concept. Having powerups that you physically carry with you and have to keep stable in your backpack is really cool idea. Nice job!

Captain Quack by HUGETUBE 2021-10-04T05:26:06Z

The music in combination with the freakin' duck flying all around sent me. Nice!

MANIC MELTDOWN! by David Bohan 2021-10-05T01:32:44Z

Love the art, and the concept fits the theme well. The highlight of my playthrough though was when I died and was greeted to a newspaper article of me as a skeleton getting fired. That one got me. Nice job!

Nightstruck by Flomino 2021-10-09T06:03:00Z

The mix of 2d character sprites with 3d environments really worked for me. I would love to see a more involved rpg made with this art style. This project was short enough that I went ahead and got both endings. Intense ladder gameplay indeed.

JankenMaho by aaron1_cabj 2021-10-05T02:39:05Z

It took me a second to understand what I was supposed to do, but once I got it it was pretty fun! Love the artwork as well. Good job!

Unstable Ground by Squeg Inc. 2021-10-04T07:48:52Z

A fun little masocore platformer. This is right up my alley. I think the concept is interesting. Losing progress every time you die forces you to get better and better at each level in order to progress. It's definitely not for everyone, but I enjoyed it.

Harry by Owl_Skip 2021-10-04T08:26:07Z

Interesting story and lovely atmosphere. I was a little taken aback at the question sections though. It kind of took me out of the story.

the adventures of catboy in blobtopia by izaak 2021-10-04T05:14:06Z

My dream of becoming a catboy is finally fulfilled. I do wish I could see how much health I have left though. Still, nice!

Drunken Master by Cedric86 2021-10-06T05:06:29Z

The vomiting sound was a bit much for me imo

Unstable Ball Game by caiustsm 2021-10-04T05:45:18Z

I mean, it's pinball a clear as I can tell. Pretty fun though.

Witches Brew by wertyyytrew 2021-10-05T09:02:29Z

Really lovely art. It was fun to see all the ingredients flying everywhere. Nice job!

Life Is... by liammasters 2021-10-04T07:35:36Z

I liked the music. I played it twice, selecting totally different answers each time to try to get a different ending, but I got the same one. Pretty cute though. Nice!

Space Truck by Mogaiskii 2021-10-04T06:40:26Z

Interesting game. Gives me FTL vibes a little bit. Definitely fitting for the theme. Nice!

Poverty boy by minidavid 2021-10-04T05:40:05Z

I got to the end(?) of the game and it was pretty interesting. I feel like I'm not smart enough to get what it all means though.

The Madness of Larry Donovan by The Lame Brain 2021-10-04T05:22:22Z

A lot of ideas implemented pretty well! It's clear there's a lot more depth to the gameplay than I had the time to explore. Nice!

Glitch by Ozfolo 2021-10-05T02:22:38Z

I thought at first it was going to be just a super simple platformer, but then the addition of fun little glitches caught me by surprise. Good job!

Unstable Towers by Immow 2021-10-09T06:44:01Z

I like the concept a lot, and it is strangely relaxing to play. I think it would help if the rotating was a little faster, because it was too slow to be of any use when I played. This gives me Getting Over It vibes with how all of your progress can be undone with a stay physics quirk. Still pretty cool though.

Orbital Cascade by PolymathLD 2021-10-05T09:09:43Z

An interesting concept executed really well! I love the pixel art, very clean looking. I'm personally not a fan of thruster movement but it makes sense in context. Great job!

A Crowded Place by DestroyerTech 2021-10-06T06:32:32Z

I got all three endings. This was very involved for a first game. Nice job!

Dreampoint Collapse by JoeRenglish 2021-10-04T15:49:59Z

@bigmancloudy Yeah this is my first ludum dare so I didn't realize you could/should opt out of certain categories. Anyway, thanks for playing!

Dreampoint Collapse by JoeRenglish 2021-10-05T01:47:34Z

@squeg-inc Yeah the physics/movement could definitely be improved. I made the platforming mechanics pretty quickly so I could focus on the block placement aspect (specifically making sure they align to the grid), and at a certain point I decided it was good enough since there was so much else to do lol. If I decide to expand and polish up this project focusing on making the platforming feel really good will be a priority.

Dreampoint Collapse by JoeRenglish 2021-10-05T01:49:30Z

@binaryprinciple Thank you so much! I've done two smaller game jams over the course of 2020/2021, but this is my first time doing ludum dare.

Dreampoint Collapse by JoeRenglish 2021-10-05T01:51:47Z

@tattomoosa I did consider adding space as an option for jumping, but then got busy doing other things and never got around to it. Adding space for jump and checkpoints at the start of each room are some improvements I would do if I decide to expand on Dreampoint Collapse in the future.

Dreampoint Collapse by JoeRenglish 2021-10-05T03:53:02Z

@nulldreams oh my gosh I would absolutely love that!

Trapped by KitsisuriYotsuru 2021-10-04T06:26:04Z

I like the pixel art. I couldn't figure out if there was more to the game than just avoiding ghosts and finding your way through the maze. I did get to the end though, I think? Still, nice job!

Break Through by Richard Jiang 2021-10-04T08:11:14Z

This is a really interesting game. At first I couldn't figure out the rules for how the player moves, but once I did it was a pretty enjoyable time. My only criticism really is that it's too hard to distinguish between breakable walls, and walls that kill you. It's kind of a toss up most of the time. Still, it's an interesting idea for a platformer, and I had fun with it.

Life on Cards by Lumbigui 2021-10-04T04:44:42Z

I like the aesthetic, and the card swiping animation is really clean looking. Interesting idea for the theme. Nice!

Star Drop by kantanloop 2021-10-09T06:21:06Z

The pixel graphics, the sound effects, and the ui are all really polished. I'm very impressed. It took me a second to figure out the gameplay, but once I understood it was really interesting and unique. I do think some of the puzzles are a bit tough right off the bat though. I didn't get past lvl4, but there was one earlier that I think I only got past by a fluke. Still, really wonderful job!

UnderControl by Jason Pitchford 2021-10-04T08:31:33Z

I like the wolves. Since the game is only moving around killing enemies, it would be nice to have some sort of score system to give a feeling of progress.

Edit: I reread the description. So it does have a score system! For whatever reason it wasn't showing up unless I put it in fullscreen mode. After I did that the game made a lot more sense.

Proximity War by Ravenmages 2021-10-09T06:57:36Z

Ok so I think this is a really cool idea and pretty impressive for a game jam. However, the application window is so tiny its almost impossible to play. This game needed to either have a larger window, a resizable window, or a fullscreen option. It's a cool idea, but kind of unplayable on a 4k monitor.

RockyRoll by JYZZ 2021-10-09T06:10:36Z

I think if the slipperiness of the controls were adjusted a bit, it would feel better. Also it was really jarring when the character didn't move with the moving platforms. Still, nice job making something like this over a weekend! It's a good foundation for sure.

Hello Darkness. My old Friend. by Aquachain 2021-10-04T06:52:41Z

I really, really enjoyed the pencil drawn aesthetic of this game. There were a lot of really cool platforming elements too. Unfortunately I got stuck on one level with some pretty scuffed design so I wasn't able to finish it, but I really enjoyed what I could play. Nice job!

WHERE AM I by Guilherme Alt 2021-10-06T06:50:52Z

I got jumpscared the first time the room flashed red. You got me!

Alien Disco by Ludokultur 2021-10-04T06:36:16Z

Simple and well executed. I like how the time bar gets faster over time. There is some strategy to dancing in the right spot to make the bar go up faster. Pixel art is cute too.

Unstable pathing by arachnid56 2021-10-05T01:41:34Z

A simple little puzzle game where you have to choose the right path to get to the end. It's essentially the ice puzzle from the last gym in pokemon ruby/sapphire, but deeper because you have to execute your pathing quickly so you don't fall. It's a neat idea for a game and fits the theme really well!

Swing Gobang by dcy11011 2021-10-05T01:55:20Z

Html5 link is broken :/

Realignment by Mediflect 2021-10-06T05:12:26Z

I liked how the AI would keep having a conversation while you go about the tasks.

Witch Season by winded_blues 2021-10-05T02:51:47Z

I think the idea of having quests (like the apples the mushroom guy wanted) be completable by changing seasons around is an interesting idea.
