I couldn't figure out how to play the game :(

I couldn't figure out how to play the game :(
I forgot to set itch.io to public!! Fixed now. Whoops…
What a great game! I got to level 5.1 before I rammed one of the nukes (oops). - The music definitely grew on me - I am astounded you put in missile logic (I've done that a few times and it's always a little fiddly) - The variety of the enemies (and the way they showed up on the UI) was pretty awesome.
Hey Baldwin! Thank you so much, what a kind and thoughtful comment :D I'm a bit embarrassed to admit I actually have a degree in aerospace engineering so I'm very familiar with PID control systems, which are ideal for 2D missile guidance. Not a very happy/nice thing to know a lot about... Would be happy to share the logic/code if you're interested though lol!
pretty fun! i didn't read the controls at first and instantly hurled myself into the sun, so this gets extra resulting points for humor
Great game! I really love the musics, we can see you put time in this x)
The only thing I can say is that I speed more time staring at the minimap than at the actual game, maybe you would've liked to let the player be able to zoom out a bit more?
I enjoyed the game :)
That's good feedback, the game starts kinda overly zoomed in for sure. You can zoom out w/ the scroll wheel but really no point having that in there if everyone just wants to zoom out right away. Thanks for the kind words :)
Would be cool to make physics more "Newtonian", i.e. make solar gravity stronger, but disable drag deceleration, so you can orbit around the sun. But AI would be much harder to make, I guess.
Hey @qthree I experimented a lot w/ the gravity stuff and found that it was a bit too hard when the solar gravity was high. The options are either to increase gravity and make the map bigger to compensate (which means more time flying around which is boring) or have gravity low like it is and decrease the arena size. I think in the future, I'd have each wave drop a super-speed upgrade to let you get to the next one quickly and increase the gravity so everything fell in faster. Drag was important so handling was more predictable (you actually can get comfortable with maneuvering at your max speed, rather than very difficult to manually control zero-drag mobility) Thanks for the feedback! and the AI is fine w/ no drag :) just easier to play w/ it on! As it is, you can see the missiles actually have very little drag and control their velocity through a PID controller - which helps them pursue the player in a much more threatening fashion...
Great take! Fighting the gravity, avoiding shooting the stars, the minimap, pretty neat!
I had a lot of fun playing! Reminded me a bit of the old game "Continuum" or now called "Subspace Continuum". Played that a lot when I was younger.
I liked that shooting pushed you backwards, I used it to build up a wave of bullets :D
This is pretty cool. AI & Missile logic was very impressive. For some reason the music is really glitchy & crackly in my browser. I could only suggest a "neater" main menu. Otherwise, pretty dope! Nice submission.
nintendo hard, fun, juicy! could use a bit more action and a bit less recoil. love the game! <3
Nice game! It looked really nice, and I think the space fighting felt nice. Some people said the music was glitchy, but I did not have that at all. I really liked it and I thought it fitted really nicely :) As a bit of feedback, at first I thought the game was not working. This was because, even though I was moving, nothing on the screen (except for the minimap) actually showed me I was moving. I think some fire particles for the eninge would help a lot with this. I actually also made a space game, and I added a starry background you fly over. Of course, this makes no sense in reality, but it helps a lot to show the player if they are moving and how fast they are moving. :) Generally I would say a bit more feedback to the player, like more explosions or particles when you shoot would help a lot. Really nicely done! I enjoyed it a lot :D
I guess your game name is wrong, it should be DIVE INTO THE SUN SIMULATOR!
Jokes apart, i liked the premise, but found the controls a bit clunky. When i understood how it worked and how to control the ship, i was able to play. Fighting the gravity is a bit harder than fighting the enemies, but it seems part of the premise.
Congrats on developing the game all by yourself!
Cool game! I really like the concept and the music goes really well with it. I found the controls quite drifty but overall nice work!
Hey @wuppos i actually do have a starry background! It's just low contrast... Seems a bit too low contrast for your monitor (whoops). Thanks for the feedback! And engine particles and general juice was next on the to do list, ran out of time but oh well :)
nice music!
Super fun game that flows really well. Love the gravity from the star. Love the music. Love the variety of enemies.
If I was to have any feedback it would maybe be that slow motion should have a limit, as I realised after a while that I was using it a LOT. Was much more fun once I made myself stop using it I think.
Great game!
Would love it if you could check out mine. :)
A space shooter with a good amount of enemy variety and a nice minimap.
Good job.
@richard-baron I can't find the play button on the itch page.
Amazing music! The controls felt sooo smooth as well. I didn't quite beat the game, but I tried multiple times just because it's such a joy to play. I found myself staring at the minimap quite a bit, maybe you want that, maybe you don't -- in case you don't, some directional indicator might be more appropriate. Did I mention the music already? It's just so damn good!
Awesome music. Unfortunately, with my screen resolution, I am unable to see the full HUD (the minimap is cut-off). This makes the game harder to read.

Nice game! Super clean graphics and engaging gameplay. I just wish it was a tad bit slower, sometimes it felt hard to control the ship delicately during combat. The music is really good, probably my favorite part of the game. Good job!
The music was the best part for me. For whatever reason zooming out with the scrollwheel didn't work for me, so I played at the default zoom. Would have probably preferred starting zoomed out more and giving the option to zoom in if wanted. Still, its a fun idea executed pretty well. Nice job!
Hey nice, actual space shooter with shields, minimap and all. Couldn't see much relation with the theme but that is ok, it was fun to play and it looks sweet.
This is great! Nice variety of enemies, flying mechanics feel really good, nice music - just a really solid package on the whole.
I also had the issue where the game was too wide for my screen - my monitor is 1680px wide - but was able to get around it by just zooming out my browser window out one tick.
I'm not sure if this is just me, but I can't find any download links or WebGL embeds in the itch page.
It is cool that the enemies have some kind of ui and are running away and loosing their shields
