I think i fixed it, so sorry about that. I have never used itch before. @javasaurus @endurion @kent-reese @craig-cordiero
Very interesting concept. It took a few minutes to understand what was going on and we hat each option meant, but after that I had a great time. It is a bit frustrating when there are no valid options or all options are the same, but that's a fairly small thing. Great job!
Spot on with the theme. The graphics and music fit perfectly. My only critique would be to make the movement slightly easier to control as the race was pretty difficult. Maybe consider adding easier races to boost the player's confidence and familiarity with the controls?
I really enjoyed your visual style. Like many have said, adding player movement would be much appreciated, but great job!
AMAZING!! Though it took a while to finish, it was quite addicting. I would suggest adding some sort of measure of whether your current speed is slow enough to land successfully.
Can't help but think of Hill Climb while playing this. It's quite challenging but great job making it!
Your game was really fun. I can't believe you had time to make the beginning cutscene as well. Great job overall!
I'm not sure if this is just me, but I can't find any download links or WebGL embeds in the itch page.
I've seen a number of games this jam centered around building an unstable tower. However, your game is own of the best executions I've seen — graphics and audio are great and I liked that the player could control both position and rotation. Amazing job!
Just wanted to let you know that I get a 404 at https://skelyvelocirap.itch.io/operator.
Cool concept! As a player, I feel a bit out of control, not being able to mitigate the disasters. But with some polish, I think your idea definitely has potential.
I'm so happy that someone built something about the butterfly effect. This was one of the top ideas in my brainstorming list. I would increase the control that the player has; at the moment, it's a bit hard to predict the effect of flapping each butterfly at some location — but maybe this was the intention.
I agree with what people have been saying so far. I would like to be able to shoot the bullets of the enemies to defend myself if possible as well. Art, animations, and concept are great though!
Wow, I failed, but you definitely did not. I loved the concept, broke a lot of plates which I'm assuming was the intention, and had a ton of fun. Great job!
Wow, the rocket movement is super fun. I enjoyed the difficulty and felt super proud of myself when I actually hit an asteroid. Great job!
I'm with @khadia — having a skip option would be nice. But, I really enjoyed the game. Great Job!
Very interesting gameplay. The entire system was well designed and easy to understand. However, I wish I could do something productive while missions were finishing.
I enjoyed your style and the unique gameplay. Definitely a fun experience — can't believe you made all this in 48 hrs!
Bravo for the voice acting. The game was quite an enjoyable, but I feel that towards the end, the obstacles felt a bit redundant. I would suggest limiting the ammo of your machine gun; at the moment, you can simply spam spray the sky and go on forever. However, 5 stars for the tutorial and humor!
Wow! Your graphics and audio worked so well together. I loved the idea and it was pretty fun. In the future, I would add more objects that the player could move around with the mouse or something to balance the boat. Also, maybe a more direct indicator of your stability could help, just a small stability bar in addition to the coins.
I agree. A few minutes before the deadline of the compo, I had to rearrange the placement of the spawner and place area and ended up misaligning it by accident. Sorry for the frustration :(
@harrison-dunn Thanks for the feedback! I had initially planned to make more troops, but I could only make the bomber and shooter unit within the time constraints. After the rating period ends, I plan on making a few more depending on interest.
@cg-fred I agree that this is quite frustrating. Perhaps a "snapping" feature could help in the future.
@nebiros You should be able to move the camera to see off-screen action with A / D. Did the battle move upwards somehow?
@c1fr1 I completely agree that more direct camera control is valuable.
@schwede Thank you so much! That's really great to hear given this is my first full pixel art game. My record is 120.54s and the best I've heard so far is 135s in case you were wondering.
@blearn It's funny that you and a number of people have mentioned that. My initial idea was to be able to place walls that the enemies had to navigate through. The bombs would then explode the walls allowing you to build your own traps and defenses. It ended up being a matter of time, but this and adding more troops are improvements at the top of my list after the rating period.
@lereveur @chairshot-games Thank you so much!
@honey-pony This is a mechanic that was labeled a feature and is still up for debate. Towards ~60-100s enemy bullets that miss your bombs may stray and hit the barrel. This was my original idea as it requires the player to be on their toes; it also adds to the instability of the barrels. However, I understand that it's hard to defend against these as it requires a really quick response on behalf of the player. I'm thinking of adding an indicator or slow-mo effect of some sort to give the player more control in these situations. But, I am totally open to suggestions. Thanks for the feedback!
I really enjoyed your graphical style — I haven't seen anything like it this whole jam. Super fun!
The game is quite difficult, but the concept itself is quite interesting. Great job!
Nice job, especially for your first time. However, I am running into an issue where the water glass magically disappears while rotating sometimes.
Solid idea and good execution. The pop sound was super satisfying. You should consider porting and releasing this on mobile.
I spent a lot of time playing this one. I really enjoyed the concept and the instability shader effect was super cool. Amazing entry!
Though it took me a few minutes to understand the objective, the game was super enjoyable. The fast movement speed made the game quite chaotic and the graphics were great!
Loved the story and had a good laugh. Nice job, and graphics were amazing!!
Great job with the game Clementine! Extra kudos because it's in JS canvas. The idea of building a tower to reach heaven was quite novel, and throwing the blocks at fast velocities like basketballs is super fun. Only main suggestion would be to add WASD + spacebar controls for the gamers :)
I don't totally understand what I am supposed to do. I can move the letters into the boxes, but what is the objective?
I really enjoyed your pixel art and the procedural generation is super appreciated. You got a ton of work done during the jam, so you should definitely be proud. I loved playing it, overall great game!
