Fun game! Liked graphics and effects. Found bug/feature:) If you land on edge of platform, you will stuck. Platform will not start dissapear
@gastar Thanks! it got to the point where I had to make a choice where the player was either gna die, or have a safe space, so i picked safe space because it just felt better than dying instantly :D if i had more time i could fix it but ya know :D
Very nice game! The whole concept matches the theme, and the idea of dying and then sending a new and better robot in its place is awesome. I played this for quite some time, but I couldn't find any purple ore, so I had to give up before getting the best upgrades.
Anyway, good job!
Note: I found the bug too, but using a short burst of the hover ability gets you unstuck, so that feels pretty nice!
Very good game. Found myself dying from trying to get to the end quick once i knew what i was doing. But I continuing to play until I completed the game! Good Job!
Nice job! I found that I can take money from tutorial for many times. Purple stone is hard to get so that I thought I couldn't actually get it. You can just keep walking as money will increase automatically.XD The ending animator is so cute and I like voxel style!
the game is fun to play and the tutorial is very well made. i don't know if i found the end but i got all the upgrades :)
Really nice game ! Lovely map generator! Well played !
nice
I think that DDR is a good name for this game, DRILL DIE REPEAT. Because for that is the feeling the game pass to me(and I love it). I struggle a little to found the other ores, but after some time playing, I understand that the yellow and purple ones are away from the start point in the game. I don't have any problem with bugs, but I also don't see a way to finishing the game after upgrade all parts. Congratulations!
Nice game! I think everything fits very well together. Graphics, sounds and music (even if the music if not yours). I loved how the tutorial was short but concise. Fantastic!
I didn't understand where to get yellow and purple resources, but it was interesting to play and I also liked the style By the way, why if we are on the star we have such a dark limited field of view? :D
@jonas-michael Thanks :D I promise the purple ones are out there :D they are just deeeep in the heart of the star close to the ending :D
@morepixels Thanks :D I'm so happy you completed it :D balancing the game to make it important to upgrade was a difficult task :D
Simple and fun gameplay. Very nice graphics. Feels like a full-fledged game that can already be published and sold)
fun and fits the theme well! One problem i have is that it looks like you takes some time to fall down once you stop hovering but you actually die as soon as you stop. Ended up in many deaths as my brain kept letting go right before i got above a tile thinking id still land :P
@moonblast Thanks :) I left the crates in the tutorial so if anyone got stuck they could farm out more stuff and complete the game a bit easier just to get to the ending :) The purple stones spawn the furthest away from your spawn point, so they are definitely the hardest to find but you only need to find 6 :D Also when the level generates, it randomly spawns currency about the map, which is maybe what your seeing as money increasing :)
@linus-szokody Thank-you :D and if the bois didn't offer you dinner you didn't find the ending :D I wont say more than that :D
@castoor Thank you, I was concerned whether random gen was the way to go so glad you liked it :)
@truedat Thanks :) these platforms where a challenge.... :D
@very-bad-bunny-studio ok so maaaaaaaaybe your name is better :D haha :D and im glad you enjoyed it :) Also every level has a portal (like the one in the tutorial) that leads to the final level and it always spawns around where the purple ore spawns :)
@not-an-apple-a-stone Thanks :D I found this same thing and so I put a shadow in to help with landing, because I didn't have enough time to test all the z-axis cases for collisions with the platforms, glad you liked it :)
@antrimplato the purple and yellow resources spawn just a bit further into the map :) and your a small robot, with tiny eyes, in a mine :D you just cant see very far :D
@goddoesplaydice that's so nice thank-you :D
Nice gameplay, very well explained and executed! The theme is well used, and the atmosphere has very tense!
Good job!
Wow, that's high quality game. Good job!
A really solid and well-rounded game for a jam game! The gameplay felt good and the upgrade system gives you clear goals and a sense of progress. Great job, keep it up!
i'm so sad there's no ZQSD support, i want to play this so bad, seems to be a great game so far I tested !
Very nice game! I like games where you have to die, in order to purchase more upgrades. The music is also very nice! Though it was hard at times to figure out how close to the edge I was, which caused a few falls for nothing :)
I liked it so much! That's my type of game, griding points and buying upgrades. The robot is very cute and the playability fews nice. I'd love to see a bigger version.
@misfire-dev I liked the game quite a lot, but I would ask if it is possible to add a checkpoint in the post-jam version after you find the portal. I kept on dying there in what I think was the last platforming section and never reached the ending because of tiny miscalculations...
Pretty nice game, a little bit short but very nice. the graphics were nice, though the screen shaking was a bit too much imo. the sounds were nice and fit the vibe of the game very well. Overall a good experience.
I like the game, it made me want to replay it a few more times. I agree with some comments above, where you die if you stop on top of the water, I was expecting there to be some (physical) fall off time. I've got all the upgrades but there's no ending as the description said. Or do I need to go further to reach the ending? (I went through a portal but there's still no ending)
Took me a few runs to figure out you have limited time and I didn't just fall through blocks randomly. Feels like an classic incremental game but with more action. Would like to see what other ideas could be introduced to this.
@kyboon Glad you enjoyed what you played, and there's definitely an ending (I put it there myself :D) you just have to keep going :D. Programming the z-axis was tricky in the time frame :D I know how I would do it differently now though to give that 'fall-off' time.
This is fantastic. The upgrade tree forced me to make meaningful choices in a really satisfying way. The controls were tight and responsive but didn't make the game too easy. The collapsing platforms were significantly challenging but not so hard that you got frustrated and quit. All this is missing is a dope, minimalist soundtrack. Great work!
Really fun mechanic and feels quite polished! I also love the upgrade system :)
Great work!
I really enjoyed it! Definitely hits the theme, the graphics are on-point, and running around as a little drill robot was quite a bit of fun. Nice work!
Super cool game. Played well. upgrading is nice and addictive. Great job.
Nice game! Sound and arts create an impressions! Good job!
This was a lot of fun to play. I had a little trouble reading the cost of things correctly due to lack of spacing between the numbers, but I eventually figured it out, The sound effects were fitting, and the dark lighting was a nice touch!
Fun game! I enjoyed the procedurally generated levels and the mechanics in the game. One thing I would add would be some sort of indicator where the exit is, just a general direction as the world is extremely open and it's hard to figure out where you were and where to go next. Solid entry!
I found it very funny and I liked pixel art, good job!
Your game is excellent, it gave me a lot of unforgettable emotions!
I really enjoyed your pixel art and the procedural generation is super appreciated. You got a ton of work done during the jam, so you should definitely be proud. I loved playing it, overall great game!
Great job with this game, great art and fun concept :) Reminds me of old browser games i used to play when i was younger
A very interesting game. Nice graphics, good sound, and a cool twist. Thanks for the game!
Really dig the sfx here, the bassy vibe. And very interesting touch on the tutorial. Short, but reliable narrative. Overall, a very good entry, thanks.
Really nice work! I like the graphics and sound. It's really good!
It's a small fun game with a surprising amount of mechanics/content for a 1 person team and still rather well polished overall. The graphics are quite nice, the audio you picked fits very well too. Having procedural generation, platformer mechanics, drilling mechanic, jetpack, rogue-lite upgrades, a tutorial, ending cinematic, etc... So, GG on managing that much. If I had to point some downsides to the game, the jetpack would have felt better imo if we had a few more frames before falling back to the ground (the fall being slower) as I often ended up releasing it too early expecting not to fall near instantly and be able to go a few pixels further using the jetpack momentum. Also a bit more of game length could have been nice with a bit more upgrades and bigger levels (but hard to do in 72h).
