A pretty good game, good graphics and game design, however it does not have very intriguing gameplay and is not all that fun to play. Overall, good job!

A pretty good game, good graphics and game design, however it does not have very intriguing gameplay and is not all that fun to play. Overall, good job!
@secretpocketcat Congratulations, this was definitely the best game I got to play by far!
Great Job! This is a very fun game, although it needs more sounds. Keep up the good work!
@jk5000 Yes, it was my first game jam and I had to scrap all the code I had written on the first day, which meant I did not have much time for design :sweat_smile: Thank you for your feedback!
@simone Thanks! I appreciate your feedback!
@cozmic Thank you for your feedback! I apologize for the lack of polish, it was my first game jam and I did not have much time because of code issues and one of my siblings' birthday parties. Thanks again for your time!
@hpmnk & @kyavi Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your kindness :sweat_smile:
@webox & @franciszek-pyrc Thank you!
@musxue Thank you for your feedback! I have increased the time that the dialogs show, so now you should be able to play fine.
@shunaky It definetely did not fit the theme at all, I agree :thinking: I was hoping to turn this into a full puzzle game, however, time did not allow :frowning2: Thanks for your feedback!
Great game, really fun to play. I really liked the movement mechanism, although it took a bit of getting used to. I loved the music and the effects, they really added to the game. Overall, I found this to be a very enjoyable entry to play!
Very fun game, enjoyed exploring and finding resources! The controls felt a bit clunky in the crash phase, but besides that the game was magnificent!
Great start for a game! Fun to play around with, I really liked the procedural level generation. The graphics also look really nice. A few suggestions: - Add some background music - Add enemies to fight - Add an attack to fight the enemies with - Add an end goal
I would really like to see this made into a full game, it looks great thus far!
P.S. I love your profile picture, as I am a bit of a rubik's cube geek myself :smile:
Time for a mass commment reply!
@jeritens Thanks, I hoped the duck would be appreciated :smile: 🦆
@navrcl Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :smiley:
@hajden Thank you, I love your description of the game! :laughing:
@simon-parzer Glad you enjoyed it! I hope the gameplay didn't seem too simple :sweat_smile:
@fabula-rasa I am glad you found the criminal so amusing! As for the duck, someone probably thought it would be worth something someday ;)
@ijzm I am glad you found it amusing :slight_smile: I hope the controls weren't too wonky for you :)
@morrilet Glad you found the gameplay entertaining! Sorry about the size of the robber, believe it or not, he was twice his current size the day before I submitted my entry XD
@rrawrr I'm glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the suggestion for the robber =)
@jk5000 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it =D
@digitaldude555 Thank you, I greatly appreciate it!
Thank you to everyone who played & rated my game, I hope you found it enjoyable!
@nobongo Thank you, I am glad you liked it!
I have received enough ratings, thank you to everyone who rated my game!
This was very fun to play! The artwork was amazing and gameplay was really logical, but the story felt a bit incomplete. Overall, this is an amazing Ludum Dare entry!
Really great game! This game follows the theme really well and it has easy, logical gameplay. I really like how you unlock different parts of the game as you progress. My only problem with this game is the character is a bit hard to control while jumping. Overall, this is a really excellent entry!
Difficult and a little short, but it was very fun to play. I especially love the jumping mechanism, the double jumping made gameplay more enjoyable :smile: Also, great job on your first game jam!
This was very fun to play! I enjoyed playing through all the levels, although the hitboxes seemed a bit large and the jumping was rather floaty. Overall, a fun entry!
Very fun little game, I enjoyed playing! :smile:
I enjoyed playing this game! The graphics were all very cute, but the game got repetitive after a while. Overall, this is a very nice and relaxing game.
I enjoyed playing the game, and your controls were fun to play with. It was a bit difficult to aim at times because you couldn't rotate the character, but besides that this is a great game!
@moddingmachine Thanks!
@pilarius Ok, thanks for the suggestion! I normally do upload a cover image, I just forgot this time :smile:
Time for a mass comment reply!!!
@mypalmike Thanks! Sorry about the difficulty, there is a bug where the meteors start to multiply after playing for a bit. :confused:
@broken-robot-studios Thank you! Sorry that the game was confusing, I hope you were able to figure it out eventually!
@gildar76 Thanks, sorry about the dramatic speed increase!
@jonasmumm Thank you! Sorry about the speed, that is caused by a bug which makes the meteors multiply.
@johnfn Thanks! Sorry that your clicks weren't going through, the laser gun has a cooldown, which I should have made a bit clearer :sweat_smile:
Fun game, with cute graphics! I really enjoyed the sound effects, especially the yelling :smile:
This is a very nice game, I really liked the increasing difficulty and the mechanics. I think it could definitely do with some sounds and keyboard controls, though. Overall, a very fun game!
@mrnyarlathotep Oh whoops sorry about that!!! I use the workman keyboard layout and I forgot to change keys back to qwerty after testing! :sweat_smile: Thank you for your feedback!
Humor is amazing: 5 stars :laughing:
My only complaint in that regard is the conservative jab: we aren't stupid, we just have different views from leftists. (although I will admit that some conservatives are that stupid, so are some leftists :wink:).
Amazing game, loved the graphics and the gameplay! I couldn't get past level 5, but I think that's just me being bad. 'Twould have been better with some background music though, or some ambient sfx. Overall, nice entry!
It seemed quite crash-happy, so I didn't really get a chance to play enough to rate more than graphics, sorry about that. (^^
Here's a stacktrace if it's helpful: https://ttm.sh/eSi.txt
I use Arch Linux.
Very amusing XD
I have absolutely no idea what to do, even with the manual, so I did not complete any levels :sweat_smile:. Besides that, though, I liked the graphics and sfx! (although the beeping did start to get on my nerves after a few minutes :laughing:). A tutorial level would be **greatly** appreciated.
I loved the atmosphere and the graphics, but it seemed a bit difficult. I couldn't find any pattern of how the crystal was hidden, so I kept restarting, and as others have said before me it pretty much became a memory game. Besides that, very well polished, good job!
I love the mood of the game! The keyboard controls aren't really smooth, but controlling with the mouse is cooler anyways =P. I like the unstable mechanic of the character, it adds a good amount of challenge to the game. The sounds however could be a bit louder. Overall, amazing entry!
@moddingmachine
Thanks! I agree, this is definitely my best submission thus far :smile:
I used [LÖVE](https://love2d.org) with [hump](https://github.com/vrld/hump#readme) for gamestates and OOP, [lighter](https://github.com/speakk/lighter#readme) for lighting, and love.physics (which pretty much just wraps Box2D with a nice Lua API) for physics. Although, Box2D is made for much smaller stuff than solar systems, so I had to implement the gravity myself :laughing:
@alice-02
Glad you enjoyed the controls and the art! Sorry for all the crashing, I meant to fix that before anyone rated this :sweat_smile:
I just pushed an update that *should* (:fingers_crossed:) fix the crashing.
Thanks for playing and rating my game!
@thepelranthean
Sorry about that, it should be fixed now! Thanks for the stack trace!
I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay, thanks for playing and rating!
@dent
I'm glad the game was easy to understand, and that you found it charming!
I intentionally made this game quite difficult, so it's no surprise that you consistently crashed. I myself usually get only 5-10 points, and I created it! :laughing:
@silurus
Thanks! I spent several hours Saturday tweaking the gravity mechanic to get it *just right*. =P
@ribout-horace
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it :smile:
@ivysly
Thanks!
Aw man... And here I thought I had all the major bugs ironed out... Alas!
Well I hope you had a fun time playing besides that bug! I shall (attempt to) fix it sometime this week.
Thanks for playing!
@rookrules
I'm glad you found it difficult! That was the intention :smile:
Although I'm not sure what else you expected the asteroids to do upon hitting a spaceship half their size, I'll gladly consider any suggestions!
Thanks for playing!
@dob
Thank you for your feedback! That makes sense, I'll play some games like that to try and get a feel for the mechanic, and I'll definitely incorporate it if/when I make a post jam version!
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!
@brainloaf-studio
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the gameplay!
@ic-rainbow
Oooh yes that would be cool! I'm definitely fixing the gravity when I make a post jam version :smile:
Oh no, I completely forgot about screen filters! I hope that didn't cause too much annoyance. Thank you for your feedback!
Thanks for playing and rating!
@honey-pony
Yay, I'm glad that's how the game's atmosphere came across! That's definitely the vibe I was going for, even if I had had time to make music and work on sfx a bit more.
I did intentionally make the asteroids quite difficult to hit, but I'm starting to wonder whether that was a good idea, considering I've received several comments about how difficult it is :sweat_smile:
I definitely wanted the asteroid trajectory to be a bit cooler, but this was my first time implementing gravity on such a large scale and I had absolutely no idea what I was doing! :laughing:
Had I implemented gravity correctly, the path they take from where they spawn is set such that they would (hopefully) spiral into the sun. I'm definitely fixing the gravity when I have time to make a post ld version though!
I'm glad you found all the different mechanics to be cool! Same goes for the rocket flame. I'm quite happy with how all my graphics turned out this LD :smile:
Thank you for playing and rating, and for leaving such detailed feedback!
Thanks for your feedback! I'm realizing that I probably should have made the game a bit easier based on all the feedback I have received :sweat_smile:
Oh, making the star blow up would be awesome! Yet another thing to add to a post jam version!
I'm not sure why it starts lagging, I need to investigate that when I get time. I haven't noticed it on my local machine, but that's most likely just my CPU making up for poor coding practices :laughing:
Thanks for playing and rating!

@aatala
Yeah I think it was a bit stupid to make it as hard as I did lol
Thanks for playing and rating!
@zimny11
Thanks for your feedback! I definitely have a lot of changes to make if/when I release a post-jam version.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for playing and rating!
@alvan-arulandu
Thank you! I'm glad you found it fun and you didn't find the difficulty too hard!
Thanks for playing and rating!
@crefossus
Awesome, thank you so much!! =D
I have taken note of all the suggestions you gave. Thanks for such detailed feedback, it's greatly appreciated!
That was a fun game, very nicely done! I think it would be great if you added a bit more to the game, like levels and such, but other than that, I quite like it! The art style is good, the controls are intuitive, and the sound effects are well done.
Nice, a fellow LÖVE user!
Good background music and sfx, and I liked the art style as well. Gameplay was hard but fun, although I think a slightly bigger island would probably be good to make things a bit easier to start. Overall nice entry!
Loved the puzzles, as well as the challenge of finding the pages. My only complaint is that the turbo mode doesn't seem very consistent, as it only applies to 0A commands. Besides that I loved the game!
Nicely done! Good job making your first compo game!
The question was a bit too difficult for mental math and the graphics seemed a bit basic, but good concept!
I found the game a bit confusing and I couldn't really find a good strategy to beat the dragon, but the concept seems really good and I liked the graphics and sfx!
Very nice! This is very well polished for a game jam game, and it plays very well! I love how you implemented the physics of the gun and the ship, although it is quite difficult. Overall this is an amazing entry, good job!
It seemed a bit difficult, but that might just be because I'm bad at racing games :laughing: Overall it seems like a nice, fairly complete entry, good job!
Nice concept! I like the simple and easily understandable gameplay, as well as the difficulty increase upon passing levels. I think all this game is really missing is more levels and some sfx/music. Overall, nice simple entry!
Cool concept, but it needs a bit of polish. I liked the music, although it got a bit old after a while. Congrats on your first Ludum Dare!
Very nicely done! This seems very polished for a compo game, and I love the voxel graphics. It's a bit hard to aim using only the keyboard, but besides that this is a very nicely done game!
Great game! My only suggestions would be to make the starting levels a bit easier, closer to a tutorial type thing, and to make the music slightly less repetitive. I loved the mechanic of switching states! Very creative and fits the theme pretty well! Overall, a nice complete entry!
Nice graphics and sfx, but the character is a bit difficult to control.
Quite difficult, but the overall concept is quite good! A visual indicator of the ship's direction such as flame would have been greatly appreciated, I got confused about my direction several times and then went off the screen. Also, while I do like minimalistic graphics, I think the graphics are minimalistic enough that sometimes it can be hard to tell what is going on. Overall, it's a nice entry, albeit a bit confusing.
Nice job on your first game!
Nice entry! It seems very complete for a jam game, it just needs some slight adjustment to make gameplay more engaging. I really enjoyed playing around with the mechanics and developing a strategy. Overall this game was very well done!
Very nice game! I love the concept, although it felt a bit slow. The UI also needed a bit more explanation; it took me a while to figure out what the bars on the bottom were and how they were supposed to affect the strategy. The music was amazing!
That was a really cool experience! The storyline was really engaging and the music helped to set the mood well, although the times when you only had one choice made it feel more like a story than a game. The language was also a bit strong for my liking, but it was still really well done! I really liked the concept of the game and the dystopian setting. I also agree with @shortcreative that you should totally make a sequel!
Very nice! It took me several rounds to formulate a semi-good strategy, but I enjoyed playing! I really like the background sound effects and the graphics did an excellent job at conveying what they were meant to. A bit more explanation of the different parts of the game would have been helpful and the popups didn't fit the style of the game, but besides that the UI was very effective. Overall, excellent entry!
I couldn't figure out what to do, so I didn't complete the game, but what I did see looked very interesting! I think it would be good if you added some more indicators of what the player is supposed to do to make the game less confusing. I really liked the looping mechanic!
The graphics were excellent and the sound effects worked well with the game. It could have done with some background music and some more actions to engage the player, but besides that it was well done!
A bit confusing at first, but I got the hang of it on my second run. The game seems to run really well, although the controls weren't very smooth. I also liked the kind of blocky style of everything.
Also, kudos to you for writing this in Lisp!
It needs a bit of balancing, the start of the game is much too difficult. However, excellent concept and I love the retro-style sfx!
Interesting idea! The different mechanics all seemed to work well and the music fit it well. However, the game started to lag after the aliens started spawning. Besides that there were no problems!
Nice submission overall! The graphics seemed a bit basic and the sound got a bit repetitive, but it was an engaging game and I didn't notice any bugs. I also liked the acheivement system!
Interesting idea! I think this would be really good if you fleshed out the eating mechanic a bit more, as it is it was possible to beat the game without eating anything (albeit very difficult!). I liked the music and the way the characters look almost like they're hand-drawn on paper!
@dkmk100 I'm sorry to hear that! I shall attempt to fix bugs when I have free time. Thank you for the feedback!
@lone-wolf
I'm glad you enjoyed my game! I must say, you have completely put me to shame, as I can only make it to wave 8 :sweat_smile:
Between you (wave 336) and my brother (wave 361), it seems like it may be a good idea to increase the difficulty ramp in my wave generation function!
Thank you for all your feedback, it is very helpful!
Fun game! I liked the pixel art, and the concept of it being an unfinished game which the developer wanted to finish was amusing. I got a bit bored after a few rounds, however I think that might have just been because I'm terrible at this type of game. Overall, nice entry!
Haha that was amazing! :laughing:
I knew this was going to be humorous from the moment you told me what your game was, but I was not expecting it to be this funny! After each round I was just sitting in my seat shaking with laughter!
I can confirm that the people are, indeed, very fragile. I picked up one lady and dropped her from the top of the screen; and she splatted. Oddly satisfying!
A couple notes: On my first round, there were two identical names (which I assume was unintentional) screenshot.png Also, on one round the audio for the lady telling me that I failed didn't play.
Besides that, it seemed to be not very buggy. Good job!
Really nice concept! It was fun trying to figure out what items the customer wanted and selling them. I really liked the graphics and the music!
I started this game, expecting a small ld game that I would play for 5 minutes- that was nearly and hour ago :laughing:
That was truly a beautiful game! It is extremely well polished, the dialog is highly amusing, I loved the graphics and audio, and I loved the characters. My only complaint is that Kid's head would sometimes get stuck in walls. Good job making such a complete ld game!!
