The idea is okay, and the game is pretty easy to play, but it felt a bit unfinished.

lovetocode999 2019-04-30 16:22

@jk5000 Yes, it was my first game jam and I had to scrap all the code I had written on the first day, which meant I did not have much time for design  Thank you for your feedback!

simone 2019-04-30 16:50

A bit more polish and maybe some music could have helped a lot... Anyhow, as for first attempt at a game jam is not half bad ;)

Keep improving!

lovetocode999 2019-04-30 17:40

@simone Thanks! I appreciate your feedback!

cozmic 2019-04-30 21:38

The idea is not bad, but there is clearly a need for polishment. I'm on Microsoft Edge, dunno about other browsers, but "events" are displayed as popup notifications for me, I think some ingame GUI would've been a lot nicer in that regard

@cozmic Thank you for your feedback! I apologize for the lack of polish, it was my first game jam and I did not have much time because of code issues and one of my siblings' birthday parties. Thanks again for your time!

like the other commenters i found it a little rough, but you don't need to apologise! congrats on your first jam, and well done for getting something finished to submit! :)

As a first jam, i will be gentle, as it's normal to have something simple, especially if you are alone. The idea of a puzzle game like that, with narrative design and humor is a good, but to give the player the incentive to play more, it should have more background on the characters conversations, to create some mood :)

Texts from the king are a bit too fast too, had to replay 2 times to read the message fully ^^

Well done for a first jam, i'll be nice in ratings, considering it's your first jam

@hpmnk & @kyavi Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate your kindness

Cool use of the library! I take it scratch was your first language? Keep learning, you're definitely on the right track! I enjoyed the dialogue.

Also - I strongly recommend you play more LD games if you want enough reviews to get a score. It looks like you've only rated around two games so far. If you rate 10 - 20 games you'll get a lot more people finding your game from the LD front page.

I see this is your first jam. First of all, be super proud that you managed to finish something! That's super hard to do, you correctly aimed for the right amount of features on your game. As many say, it should be more deep on dialogs (since it seems to be your main mechanic) and you should let the player know what he's actually doing. Great job! keep learning, as other say, you are on the right track!

Nice website messages.

@webox & @franciszek-pyrc Thank you!

Haha, that was one short little game, I loved the ending :D I can see it's your first game - awesome! Keep it up!

musxue 2019-05-14 03:50

Ok, I end up being the king.

And I suggest you make the dialogs kept until the player does something. I can't see some of the dialogs clearly before they disappeared. It's a little fast.

Good job!Little boy or little girl:)

The game definely needs some polishment and you should have more things to do, this is too linear, I couldn't see where does this game fits to the Theme...

But it's a good idea, you just need to work more on the Idea, maybe doing a puzzle-like game?

Nice job ^^

lovetocode999 2019-05-16 16:31

@musxue Thank you for your feedback! I have increased the time that the dialogs show, so now you should be able to play fine.

@shunaky It definetely did not fit the theme at all, I agree  I was hoping to turn this into a full puzzle game, however, time did not allow :frowning2: Thanks for your feedback!
