what a beautiful, incredible, special experience! love every element of it!
what a beautiful and clever game! i'm very glad to have played this! ^-^
love seeing things so outside the box, and this achieves that so elegantly! :)
stumped at the thousand log files, but what a hilarious and outside of the box creation. love it! :)
i didn't have a second person to play with but a two player fighting game during a jam is really cool! love love love the graphics and audio too.
the graphics and animation quality is SO high here! incredibly adorable and high fidelity! i think the fifteen second limit for each level is a fantastic idea and being able to trade your time for new abilities makes that even better. quite a high difficulty curve though!
tough as nails! interesting choice to make the respawn cost increase as the levels get harder, but i guess that's the hole healthcare systems make you dig! loved the art, animation, and music, and especially seeing the fallen patients of time gone by ^-^
the on ground controls are tough and sensitive, but the wall jumping felt super: the stickiness and amount of force from the jump were all what i would expect from a good platformer!
a cool take on the clicker genre, and goodness if this isn't one of the **prettiest** games i've seen for a while! such beautiful art, and the audio complements it so nicely too!
i liked the element of sacrificing the natural world around you to make room for your cult :)
SQUIDGE! love the sound and splat of enemy deaths. great use of theme, and nice music too. my highest score is 2809.299 :)
super cute art style and the audio is great. kind reminds me of 'destroy all humans' on the ps2 ^-^
wow i LOVE this, soooo so much! amazingly polished and fantastic core mechanics and level design. super super well done <3
what an incredibly involved game! a lot packed into this, with the world behind the computer screen in addition to your garden. i couldn't figure out how to stop my plants withering but i enjoyed the pretty art and sound :)
a groovy little game! getting some good procedural generation in is a great accomplishment :) i love the shop in relation to the theme, trade offs are super fitting and make the game interesting. combat is a little rough.
cute dungeon owls are a fantastic way to win people over ^-^
i love this! :) i'm glad exploring all the different decision trees isn't punishing, but designed in a way that lets you learn as much as you want about everything in the world.
it's got some rough edges but there's a lot of groovy stuff going on :) the customer collection aspect is super neat, i think if there was a tighter use of space it would be really special.
the people animations are great! and the music is fantastic ^-^
@rhewid awesome! i think being able to see the customers from the back room helps a lot ^-^
cute game, very hectic! lots of bullets raining down! it would be good to have some sort of feedback when a bullet hits so you can get a feel for the hitboxes and when to dodge :)
(minor technical detail) this didn't work on firefox 56 for me, it said to rebuild with assertions enabled.
greatness in simplicity :) love this so much, and the powerups make it super interesting! i got to 2114 ^-^
lots of strong points all wrapped up together here! each mechanic was interesting and fun. the narrative gave off some 'Braid' likeness :) the controls were a bit difficult to manage (warping and jumping together was difficult and the platforming a little bit tough at times. i enjoyed this game ^-^
wow, the first game i've given all 5s to this jam! beautiful presentation, mini games that are actually fun and interesting is ~really~ amazing to see, and the humour is just right! even though this game isn't similar to Theme Hospital, you've captured a different kind of humour to the same positive effect. thank you for making this :)
i like the art, and think a bounty is a great use of theme. i managed to hit the bank and i don't know if it was a bug but the coin there respawned infinitely so i got to $30k before i quit ^-^
would be rad to have seen some sort of progression in difficulty, balanced by health pickups. the same enemies mixed with regenerating health made it easy to camp :)
~~~~~~aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh~~~~~~~~~~~
:)
fun little game, i had problems with ammo management though!
a robot expending its battery is a great use of the theme :) love the antenna twirl!
very hard, but i love the consequence of dying being making the game harder ^-^ cute art style!
awesome use of minimal controls ^-^
the art style is nice and the demons having their own abilities provides good variety ^-^
like the other commenters i found it a little rough, but you don't need to apologise! congrats on your first jam, and well done for getting something finished to submit! :)
a day in the life of edmund mcmillen's blue baby ^-^ very interesting!
'alter ego' vibes! fun storytelling and beautiful art :)
some games have particularly special/memorable moments. the first time i threw myself into a pit of spikes and then saw my corpse the second time around was one of those great "oooooh!" experiences :)
interesting concept, the world interaction is super nice to see ^-^ the controls are a little bit jarring though!
great animation and i love the feedback on sword swings and especially on harvest - all very satisfying! balancing stats versus your own health is a good idea! though i didn't realise the health bar was on the left hand side until i was a little bit too dead :)
congrats on your first ue4 game! well done choosing to focus on narrative when making a game in a short time with a new tool, i'm sure it helped a lot :)
the biggest suggestion to give it, feedback. everywhere! when enemies are hit, when enemies deal damage etc, getting a ding or seeing a flash on screen feels infinitely better than a number somewhere flipping over to the next digit ^-^
short, but the boss design is fantastic! straight out of an edmund mcmillen game :)
hard to believe it's been three weeks since finishing a day of work with an hour of sleep, gamedev-hungover but completely elated at being part of this experience :') thank you all for playing, and thank you for your games (i think i played most of them)!
there were tough quick decisions to make during the development process which cost a lot in the reception of the game, but it was super interesting! if you're hanging around waiting for the results, check out the postmortem ^-^ https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/bird-food/bird-food-postmortem
what a BEAUTIFUL narrative game! i loved permanent changes in the world between the cat's lives, it gave a strong 'every day the same dream' vibe which i ~love~. i played the game before i read the description and it only dawned on me at the lake that on my last life, there was more to accomplish in the world, which was striking!
the graphics are beautiful and the cat's perspective on a world that could be independent of it is a fantastic setting.
things on the technical side: - grid based movement would feel nicer, but this isn't a big deal :) - with concurrent text popups, the window disappearing felt like the end of the text sequence even though there was more to come - on firefox, there's a 'click' when the audio initialises. maybe since there's no sound you could disable the audio entirely? this is probably a GB Studio thing though
well done on a great game with so much content!
