Very nice Game, The soundtrack was really good.
Pretty much everything in this game is amazing! The visual art, menus are all nicely polished and well put together. The minigames were fun and really added to the humour. Also loved the idea of being a crooked doctor, trying to make as much money as possible. Really awesome work guys! 👍
Very Interesting game, I really enjoyed the minigames within the main one. However I didn't get to far as some point the Mafia was taking like 4 thousand at a time and I was sure if there was a possible win state.
This is ridiculous! XD WarioWare-like minigames are the best, I wish I saw this kind of stuff more often. =)
"Prescribe Drugs" seemed a bit too difficult. And the game would benefit from the ability to run faster (e.g. by holding Shift key). The character looks chilling when he/she should be rushing.
Visuals and music are great. =)
Interesting and fun idea, good mood, nice graphics. Also the game mechanics and the minigames are well made. Although it could be a little bit harder, it felt a little bit to easy to play.
Awesome! Craziest thing i've seen lately! Corpses near registration, throwing organs into patients, free placebo using. I am amazed :D
I love this game! I could play it lot of hours. Good game rythm.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
The game looks and sounds amazing. Definitely something I would want more of. A very nice tough on the theme of the jam. I felt like movement was a bit slow though, maybe you could have made it just a little bit faster.
Really well made game, it is nice to have the overall gameplay going with smaller details to pay attention to. The story is also nicely tied into the theme where you have mafia vs police, so you have to choose to scam people with the surgeries or be on the ethics side. Very well done!
Incredibly addictive, wonderful art style, hilarious idea. I wish I had this idea, but I'm certain I wouldn't have executed the idea as well as you managed. Very impressed!
weird champ haha! 5 stars
This is fantastic... loved the minigames and the strategy. All really good - except, I played a few times and on each occasion the game would just freeze up at around 5 minutes in. Shame, because I reckon I could lose a couple of hours on this!
Waw, that was amazing. Music, visuals and mechanics are really nice. I love the detail that you can choose your gender at the start
5 :stars: !!! Good job
Nice game, haha. There were parts that left me in despair. The art is very cool and the minigames too.
@garys Thanks for your feedback mate! Very much appreciated. We hope to fix the bug you mentioned as soon as possible
Very nice game! :D
@duke ping me when you do, I'd love to play this a bit more!
-
Ooff... Not that easy! It's actually pretty fitting, as the longer your patients live, the more money you get...
wow, the first game i've given all 5s to this jam! beautiful presentation, mini games that are actually fun and interesting is ~really~ amazing to see, and the humour is just right! even though this game isn't similar to Theme Hospital, you've captured a different kind of humour to the same positive effect. thank you for making this :)
Very fun to play, good work team :) Keys highlighted for commands explantion in the beginning is really a good idea! Mini games are fun but I understand too late how the practice mode works
That was some dark humor! overall this game feels really polished and nice. Thanks for making it!
How.... I mean like... Theme, on point, game-play and idea are stellar. Just solid execution on all points. $5 says this wins it all.
MAAAAAAAN.... IT'S Awesome, I spent about one hour playing... it's a professional work !!
Absolutely LOVE this game!!! Super polished feeling and I love the practice mini-games before the real one, made it very easy to understand the mechanics. This kind of reminds me of the way that Diner Dash and similar games play (used to play those all the time so that's probably why i liked it so much lol). Easily on of my favorite games I've seen so far! Good work!!! :)
that was fun -- i loved the games in the game -- well done -- thanks for making it
The page sadly doesn't load for me (I'm using Edge as a browser) This is the only console output: Unbenannt.png
Great work guys! Funny gameplay, I like the houmour, minigames, music.. oh and I almost forgot the graphics which was great as well! I don't really know what I would suggest to make the game better. Amazing entry!
I loved it! Tough to keep patients alive, but the choices are always funny. It is very polished, congratulations!
Woaw, my favourite entry so far ! There is fun, humor and the content is huge ! I perfectly understood the context and how to play the game. And there is even a practice mode !
I love the ambience too, there is a good mood thanks to the graphics and the music.
Congrats !
Love it! Hard to imagine how to do somethimg similar in three days!
@cozmic thanks for trying! It seems Edge is having trouble with a relatively recent JavaScript-Feature. We're looking into whether Edge can handle it after we replace it with an alternative right now and will let you know if we find a way.
At everyone else, thank you so much for your kind feedback, really makes our day!
@cozmic Unfortunately there are more issues with Edge we couldn't resolve yet. For now we'll have to ask players to use Firefox or Chrome instead. Sorry about the inconvenience, and thanks for letting us know!
This is so great, had much fun with this game! Despite its appearance, it is way simpler and intuitive that I thought, and going through minigames is just excellent! The general atmosphere is awesome, as the graphics, and the games remind me how great playing WarioWare was. Keep going like this, I could continue for hours!
This game is just extraordinary, everthing about it is fun. I had a really good time trying it and I wish you guys develop it further. I wish the character could move a little bit faster, but apart from that everything feels so good. The minigames are a good amount of fun, the idea is brilliant, the execution is perfect. Kuddos to the team of creators, it's my favorite game so far !
Really good game, I had fun playing it thanks !
One of my favorites so far. Expected to just press a button and be done with treatment, but the minigames caught me off guard! Great mood setting moment. Found it a bit easy to make money by giving any high budget patients placebo surgeries. But hey that part could be true to life...
We saw your review of our game and decided to take a look at yours, and by gosh we were completely blown away! This is so polished, so well executed that I honestly would pay money for this. My girlfriend literally spent so long in it that the only reason she stopped playing was because it crashed! If a publisher doesn't pick this up I'd be seriously disappointed. This is probably in my top 3 for this ludum dare. Incredible work, and I really look forward to seeing what you do post-jam with this absolutely awesome game.
Great work! Love the organ transplant and surgery scenes, and the whole concept is hilarious use of the theme. Nicely done!
Fantastic game! It got me hooked for almost an hour! I really loved the risk factors and the fun minigames with the surgeries and prescriptions...etc I felt it needs a bit more balancing but that didn't keep me from playing! Loved the graphics so much as well! very well done
Wow! This game is a ton of fun! Nice work.
Dang, I very much enjoyed this. Impressed by the variety of minigames, the presentation and the grim humour. It's a rough life being a doctor these days!
This is really amazing what you were able to create during such short period of time. It feels really complex and well polished! Not to mention great idea. One of best submissions I have so far seen and will definitely get back to this again! Thanks a lot for such nice entry, Great Job!
Really well made minigames and hilarious!
Great game. Love the amount of minigames I should probably not become a doctor.
I love your game!
**Positive things: **
- nice graphics - nice music and ambient sounds - verry polished and complex - i love the mini games - it's fun
**Negative things: **
- I don't get how it fits the theme
Great work, well done!
@rahtainka thank you! Regarding the theme: Our hospital is run like a business, and the patients are considered valuable in that they earn us money while they're alive (they pay rent for the bed they use, and we can do our lucrative surgeries/treatments on them. When they die, we pay a penalty). That's the main way in which we incorporated the theme.
On top of that, but that's more of a lucky coincidence, your own life is coupled to the money you possess due to the nature of your relation to the mafia. The amount of money thus always reflects the player's risk of dying themselves.
@very-dark-lord thanks for your explanation.
This game is great! very funny and entertaining. Very innovative use of the theme. I'd like to see more content and for this game to go further post-jam. Maybe being able to expand the hospital? Hire additional doctors? :)
That was a pleasant surprise. High production values all around. Minigames were quite funny, but started to get a bit old in the long run. But I had fun, excellent entry!
Very nice pixel art and general mechanics. Good idea turning each action into a minigame and the pixel for each was great
Great game, really liked playing it! The humor was great. At one moment there was a dead body laying just outside of the hospital and I figured it wouldn't get moved to the bin, but it did.
@mika-la-grand Thanks for your kind feedback, always appreciated. And yes, the facility manager always goes the extra mile to clean the streets ;)
Very impressive level of detail! I allways love it when games have that amount of content. The minigames are a lot of fun and very versatile. The story ties everything together really nicely and really nails the theme. Very impressive work. Good job!
This game is really funny, I laughed a lot on this game, when I saw that GIANT pill that the patient had to take I just couldn't stop hahahaha
The concept is so cool. All minigames are well suited to the theme, and very fun! Nice work!
Great entry, good work!
Ha! I loved it! Having to balance all the patients was really fun, and the little details on the whole idea of the game "what a real doctor would do" was quite fantastic.
I think that it was a little hard following all the messages. Maybe making a box for them? or changing the font a little bit? It was not quite clear to me when the mafia would show up next, or how much money they would charge me.
Fantastic game! Thanks!
This is excellent. I played it for a very long time.
@caranha Thanks for your feedback! Time ran out and we couldn't afford it anymore to fix the readability issues of the text messages throughout the game. We are currently working on a post-jam version that fixes all main usability issues. So, thanks for letting us know!
This is a good well polished game. Minigames are great and funny. Well done.
Very nice "Crazy Hospital" Simulator. :herb:
Cool gameplay, loved the mini games and the fact that you have a practice run before the acctual atempt, otherwise i would have failed every single time XD The minigame of fixing a fracture is painful to execute, each hammering i felt the pain. My only complaint is that the steps sounds are way too loud.
The minigames were completely unexpected and tons of fun. Very polished game.
Tottttally didn't expect that gameplay or theme when I opened it up, I just assumed it would be some kind of doctor sim game. Tbh, I wasn't even too sure how the metagame was supposed to play out, just a vague idea of mafia money and cops, but I just had a blast filling up my hospital and extracting as much money as possible from people. My favorite game was the syringe one, it was just satisfying to nail that sucker perfect. I also laughed pretty hard when I first missed my organ deployment, just like in the real world. Ambitious game, can't believe you pulled something like this off. I see you have a decent sized team, did you split the coders off to do different minigames?
This game is hilarious! Well done on the mood and gameplay.
I love this! It's like it Warioware became a micromanagement sim and wore the skin of Theme Hospital. The minigames were the best bit, and running between patients added a layer of urgency to it.
I think it's clear that you made decisions about the mechanics for the context of a game jam, which could be expanded if you were to develop it further - for example, the decision to not penalise you for turning patients away, and the decision to pause time when trying to fix something - these were good calls.
I think it could have done with a run button, and some slidey collision with the walls - I got a bit frustrated moving about. Also, some icon indicating a person has not yet been diagnosed versus successful recovery would have been nice - not to spoon feed, but admitting patients en masse means you might not know where they've gone, and it ends up with confusion that's more work than fun.
Overall really well polished, even down to the pause menu - and funny to boot.
@ave Thanks your kind and honest feedback, very much appreciated! You are completely right about all the things you pointed out. Balancing was the main issue towards the end of the jam, because time ran out quickly. We already addressed most of the things you mentioned (and more!) in a post-jam branch of the game, which we might release in the near future.
Gonna have a look at your game when I'm home later this day, so stay tuned ;) Thanks again!
I played this a lot longer than I thought I would. Well done, the combination of managing the patients and the mini games proved to be quite addictive! The throwing of the pills and placebo mini game seemed a little hard but other than that, Very nice polish, nice concept and its fun to play. Great job.
@denzil-gomes The pill throwing game is indeed the hardest one, we've made it somewhat easier in the (not yet published) post jam version by adjusting the throwing angle and thus make it more forgiving. The placebo minigame however is much simpler than it looks - you can basically just drop the ball immediately and win. The only thing to avoid is hitting the patient. The game doesn't explain this very well, so that minigame is confusing as it suggests to players you have to keep up the ball, which is not actually the case. Sorry about that. :)
@peachtreeoath "I wasn’t even too sure how the metagame was supposed to play out, just a vague idea of mafia money and cops" - absolutely, we realized while working on it that there's a lot of complexity that's hard to communicate to players, but at the same time it also isn't really necessary to have a good time playing, so we didn't see any strict necessity to fix this and stayed with that game design. A lot of things go on that players don't (and honestly probably can't) notice during the first playthrough.
"I see you have a decent sized team, did you split the coders off to do different minigames?" - of our 7 members 5 were mostly involved in coding, three of them part time (one "pair programming coder" who was focusing mostly on banter and keeping us entertained, plus two coders who mostly worked on tilemap, doctor/patient & treatment logics), and two for the full three days, one of them working mostly on characters, collision, the facility manager NPC, mafia and cop mechanics, and the other one worked primarily on the minigames.
"I also laughed pretty hard when I first missed my organ deployment, just like in the real world." - next time I need an organ replaced I know who to ask!
Wow - this game is so well finished! I didn't really know what I was doing to begin with, but I quickly got into the swing of things and thoroughly enjoyed all of the minigames! Turns out, I'm not that great with a hypodermic needle...
Don't really have any complaints here about this. It's pretty polished for a game jam. Might be cool to see how many days you can survive. Other than being able to payout to the mafia, is there any way to win and end the game? Great job, though.
@bakenshake We implemented a win state for the level, just reach 10.000$ and you're good to go! Thanks for your feedback :)
@very-dark-lord oh wow, you did a really good job dividing up the work then. I guess that makes sense given how much general breadth there is to the game.
All the microgames included were pretty mobidly funny. I like how you can fail a placebo surgery. I didn't really feel any pressure to earn more to keep the mafia happy. Maybe because there were always many patients coming in so curing them actually freed up beds. Maybe if they were in shorter supply you'd keep them there and perform the more expensive operations.
Awesome entry with funny micro games and an amazing art.
There's a lack of reverberation on the shoes sfx to increase the sensation of depth and volumetry, also, you could slightly change the ambience of every room (like different equipments sfx and different peple talking loops).
An amazing hospital mini game. Well done.
Amazing game! Minigames like Hearts Medicine are great! Maybe the diagnosis skill can be confusing sometimes... Overall... Cool game!
Great game. Loved concept overall, music, mood and metagames are awesome too. It seems like 'Papers please' when you have to choice between ethic or your job, and how game throws you in preasure. Mechanically it works fine too, funny and interesting idea. Nice job dudes!
I finished in jail with 23 patients, 4 deaths : _D, i'll improve myself later scoring.png
I absolutely love this one. There's so much going on, and the darkly humorous tone of it all was spot-on.
It's impressive that this was done in a weekend, because it feels so polished and thought out! Every single one of the minigames got a chuckle out of me, and I'm super duper grateful that you decided to put a "practice mode" before every one of them. At no point did I ever feel lost or confused about what I had to do, which is usually the sign of a well thought out jam game.
I will say though that I was confused as to how I lost? I always had enough money to pay the mafia when they needed it, and I did notice that I would also have to pay money to the cops whenever they caught me taking out a body...Maybe not all cops are bribe-able? :P That maybe could have been clearer. There was so much I needed to keep track of that the schedule of the cops never really crossed my mind.
In the scope of a jam game, I can't really think of anything else that could have been added to this, but I have no doubt you guys had to cut out a lot of ideas just to get this to the finish line. I'd love to see this expanded into a full game at some point!
This is solid. No other words for it.
I didn't have the patience for a full run but I tried all the minigames and I liked them a lot. Nice sense of humor there. Graphics are also cool. And the User Experience is super good, at any moment I knew how to interact with things.
The only strange thing was that the minigames yoy could win or lose but it didn't seem to matter much.
Also, the press intro to exit looks like it only works during an specific time window between tries which is weird.
Really cool graphics, and audio. The mechanics absolutely fit the theme of being a doctor trying to juggle too many patients + deal with the Mafia. The collision boxes on my character were confusing a bit. I would have also liked the pacing of the game to be slower at first, because I was admitting patients and didn't know what to do next.
Overall, 5-stars!
Evaluation...
1 - Mechanics and Learning: The main mechanics is a lot of running, it is hardly possible to administer this hospital without killing some people (I think it would be better to divide the game in stages and start easier, with fewer beds and with average, healthier people). It might be less stressful to have an employee at the front desk, having his own mechanic via the mouse to select care alternatives (at least those coming in and out of hospital). The minigames are a lot of fun and some are quite challenging. Learning how to play them in simulation mode before the first patient each was very interesting.
2 - Flow: The game seems to complicate as the person accepts patients. In addition to requiring the main character to pay the mafia what he owes (hahahahaha). As I mentioned above, it may be more interesting for players to encounter minor challenges and be introduced gradually to some of the minigames (this can give a more balanced progression if the focus is on the producer).
3 - Narrative and Polishment: The narrative is presented within the game and was nice like that. The artistic polishment was good, it would be interesting to polish even more, in case of continuity of the project.
4 - Culture: There are games that serve as the basis for this, so there are classic players that can be attracted with proper publicity. In addition to films involving doctors in "mafia tricks", which can provide inspiration for advertising videos (Youtube etc). Maybe a page to center this community of players that could be created would be interesting (if you make a page on Facebook, invite me).
5 - Monetization: I think the game would sell on Steam or another store (with polishing and increasing the number of stages).
