Pretty cool concept. Very interesting the art was done in PowerPoint, never thought I'd see that as an art platform of choice. It would be nice to have more player feedback, such as showing which buttons I've pressed. Good entry overall though...well done.

The human-like sound is fun. I was confused first because we don't selected action. Also animation are not very fuild on my chrome. But anyway I love the mechanics. Are the beast moving randomly ?

Thanks for playing! Yeah, there's an issue with speed that I'm trying to track down. Also some clicking glitches that I think result from the speed hit. Most pronounced in Chrome.
Love the sound - We are farming lol - cool game

That's a really interesting game! 100% feels like there was a lot of effort put into it. Well done!

I'm a sucker for anything turn-based! Love the systems you set up and how they interlock, found it very intuitive. Sadly, my inevitable end came more from the game just slowly grinding to an unplayable speed than from the tusk monsters. (Brave on Win10, v1.37.109)
Had a very good time with this! An interesting amount of depth and strategy, especially for a jam game. Well done!
It's a cool concept. It's an awesome idea to do art in PowerPoint + GIMP; probably sped stuff up immensely. The stimulant drugs are OP, and with them I was able to get bored before mammoths even got close to my village.

I like the concept of the game. Love turn base system, but game get slower in web browser every turn

Very cool idea.
Unfortunately I had to stop playing due to performance problems (at a certain point the game just slowed down to a crawl). It would be nice to see a slightly more polished post-jam version :)

I had a lot of fun playing this one. The gameplay is easy to understand and is very entertaining. The biggest problem is that the tusk beasts cause the game to drop in framerate. When you get far enough in the game, it is completely unplayable as it freezes. I really liked this game, sadly the framerate bug really hurts it. Nice job!

Neat game, it's a bit too repetitive, maybe turns can run on a timer? either way it's an interesting concept that can be expanded upon
Enjoyed this. Great concept. I could see myself sinking hours into a full version :) Reminds me of some deck-builders and I'm a sucker for games where you get to make choices like what you could do in the action store. I wasn't able to find a way to increase the number of power moves I could access per turn. How do you buy more slots? I wanted to get my mines going but I kept drawing Despair instead.
You've already acknowledged the slowdowns; after 10 minutes in Chrome it took more than a second for a click to register. I would love to have played more but it became difficult :(

I played this longer than expected, even with the slowdowns later on. I could have easily played this for ages if that was fixed! This is a solid foundation for a game concept. I hope you continue to work on it! :)

Thanks for all the insights and nice comments. @googlypoo The way to get extra slots for Power Moves is the green tiles that show up in the Buy phase - those give you another Power Move option each turn (limit of 8 slots, which fills the whole column). You always have one Despair tile from the start as your only Power Move. If you don't have enough Power Moves to fill available slots, the extras get filled in with Despair also.
Nice game. The variety to the actions was good and between the graphics and tooltips it was pretty intuitive. Would have played longer but for the slowdown issue.
Nice little concept... a little more description on the mines would have helped  Otherwise really good job :thumbsup_tone1:

I like the concept and wanted to play more but unfortunately it slowed down quite a lot (I'm on firefox if that helps) :(

That is a lot of mechanics implemented for a Compo entry! It slowed down for me a bit, but it was still quite playable. Awesome game, I love it!
very impressive, amazing! kept me busy for like a good 20 minutes! it's fully fledged, works, has a lot of diversity super impressive for a 3-days project - respect!
i'd argue it could use some more feedbacks for when a power is activated and a cell on the map needs to be clicked for it to be used may be my old laptop ^^# but the perfs and framerates were a bit sketchy - i wonder if it could use more optimization on your side the roads are not very instinctive to use - it took me a while to figure out - and even still ^^# and towards the end i got stuck i couldn't get stuff (3 tusks + 1 crystal) into my base - there was no wall in the way that shortened my game somewhat - may be just as well I'd still be playing it otherwise ^^#
a lot of fun - may be the game I tested for the LD50 thus far that entertained me the longest yet! keep it up thanks for that experience and tc, y'all :D

@team-choo-choo Thanks for the kind words and for offering to feature the game. I sent some art and notes and comments. 10AM CEST is 4AM here, so I don't think I will likely be able to join you :-) But thanks, and I hope it goes well.

This is really well done - lots of interlocking mechanics that mesh together really nicely, and drawing the power moves at random kept things interesting. I've always felt that doing a strategy game is playing Ludum Dare on hard mode, but you pulled it off pretty well.
I did have the slowdown issue as well, in Chrome. It seems like every LD there's some weird Chrome issue that crops up which is a shame.
Nice entry! It seems very complete for a jam game, it just needs some slight adjustment to make gameplay more engaging. I really enjoyed playing around with the mechanics and developing a strategy. Overall this game was very well done!
