LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Uncanny Dodge by Dubgron 2017-12-04T14:10:41Z

I like the idea, but I wish there was a little more to it. Could be a great phone game/time killer.

I also hit a bug where if I cloned on the far right, I couldn't move the original character anymore. I wish that if you hit the side of a pillar it just stopped you instead of killing you.

Dungeon Raid by kbf123 2017-12-05T23:24:40Z

I like the art style, and the music was good! The different death scenes was a nice touch. Good game!

CARnage by Rolle 2017-12-06T22:23:46Z

Great job! Definitely gets the carmageddon feel, although it's not obvious that running over peds is a negative thing. I also agree the sound for the car could use some variation for speed or something to help it not drone as bad. Speed strips were a nice touch, as well as the nos can. Art was all around fantastic. Great submission.

Life's A Glitch by gamepopper 2017-12-04T14:17:56Z

Great idea for the theme, glitches really do fit well. Love the intro sequence "life's a .... glitch".

Very smooth gameplay, only complaint would be that the jumping feels a little too floaty compared to movement speed. Twitter integration was a neat touch.

Should consider making the menu options separate from the action buttons or adding a delay, I had a few times where I restarted the game after dying before seeing my score from spamming fire.

Famous Knight by Lucas Ferrantelli 2017-12-16T15:50:58Z

This is hands down my favorite submission I've played so far. Absolutely fantastic work.

Slightly annoying traffic by JOrbits 2017-12-05T23:28:41Z

I love a game with a fun death sequence, and watching all the cars pile-up after you fail is exactly that. Game idea itself isn't the most original, but it does fit the theme extremely well.

Polyose by dylanilvento 2017-12-06T17:04:07Z

I really like this game. It was simple but fun. I did feel like it got extremely easy once you had a few shards collected, I was even attempting to kill myself at the end and was failing to do so. I like the mechanic where you lose shards later on as you get hit, but I think it needs tweaked to make it a challenge!

Already dead by TedX 2017-12-04T14:06:32Z

Fun idea. I liked the different weapons, glad those were implemented. It was also cool that you could swap weapons after you had more than 1.

I wish levels were standalone and health didn't carry between them. It's also weird that the bullets go through spike walls and don't ricochet.

Scavenger by LimeniusTeam 2017-12-06T14:32:30Z

Very fun! A lot of people attempted the "collect coins and monsters attack you" thing this jam, but I think this is my favorite execution of it so far. I like how you can see the smell radius and different potions offer changes to that. The art was nice, sounds were plenty fine, and levels kept me interested. Good job!

Drug Dealer by Hadermite 2017-12-05T23:11:37Z

Concept was sorta interesting, but there wasn't enough variety. Also you have no way of cancelling a meeting so if you accept one you can't afford it's basically game-over.

Story of a Schizophrenic by CptFinn 2017-12-04T13:58:37Z

I love the idea for the theme here. I did encounter a bug however, when I escaped the second room it didn't move me to level three, I was able to just walk around outside.

Be Yourself by Noa Calice 2017-12-06T00:55:59Z

Great little game, the art was awesome! I'm a sucker for simple but beautiful.

Bloom by HakunaMacouta 2017-12-06T14:20:46Z

I like the aesthetics, but I feel like the baddies are just too fast! I also had a round where I spawned in and immediately died from an enemy.

The idea is cool, I hope you expand on it post-LD!

Mutoid by Adrenallen 2017-12-04T13:12:33Z

@wskilljoy The blurriness stems from my mistake of trying to keep the total game pixels small. I knew I wanted to do a 16x16 character, what I didn't consider was how small the game viewport would be in that case. Next time I will draw everything larger and scale it down to have the same effect without causing it to be blurry. Thanks for the feedback!

Mutoid by Adrenallen 2017-12-17T20:26:39Z

@illabom @wskilljoy I have updated the submission to have all graphics scaled up 3x. I did this on the actual graphics side, so all the logic had to be tweaked to accommodate. Give it another shot now, graphics are much clearer.

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-05T23:33:31Z

Fun but as others have said, there is a lack of visual definition for the enemies or obstacles. It's too easy to walk into a death and not even realize what happened. Visuals are otherwise fantastic, the effects used are great. I also like the story telling.

Boomstick Leaper by pataya 2017-12-06T00:11:18Z

Game was a little stale. I agree the shotgun was satisfying to fire, but there wasn't enough variety. Was fun for a few minutes. I also was getting some weird black artifacts when sprites were animating, not sure what that was about.

The escape of the red panda by chispaLBC 2017-12-06T00:34:55Z

Fun quick game. I wish the obstacles had more variety, but the ones there did a good job. Movement felt really solid, and upgrades felt effective.

Horny Bunny by Thomas FUentes 2017-12-05T23:59:44Z

Fantastic game! I loved the variety of bunny types as well as the environment changes. Only thing I wish was that the result of falling into water was more interesting than warping back to the last checkpoint.

Quantum's Rick by cortexdeveloper 2017-12-06T00:45:41Z

Pretty difficult, but wow what a great idea! This is such a simple yet perfect game for the theme, I love it!

2D Pixel Shooter by volatile 2017-12-06T00:15:51Z

I actually really enjoyed this game. It played a little laggy for me, but collecting energy to use as ammo was really neat. I wish the death event had some form of animation, and there was a better variety of enemies. Overall, good submission!

Ice Cream Island by spaceturtle 2017-12-05T23:20:53Z

Great graphics and a funny idea to fit the theme. I didn't really like how the jump movement worked, it was a little tricky to hit the platforms just right. I managed 8 ice creams on my first try.

Infected Pong by PhillSerrazina 2017-12-06T17:35:53Z

Great idea! It was pretty frustrating, just like it would be in reality. I hit an issue where sometimes the windows wouldn't close until I clicked a few times, not sure why that would happen or if it was by design. Good entry!

Don't get drunk by tulipekoni 2017-12-06T17:27:43Z

I love it! Simple game, but keeps you playing. I like the effect it has on your screen, and the fact that the beer doesn't really kill you, just makes the game harder! Awesome submission.

Don't Grow Ego by Sherwood 2017-12-05T23:16:04Z

I was unable to get the game to load. I tried HTML5 version and the download, both just hung on a black screen :(

Drone Invasion by Niki90000 2017-12-06T16:59:50Z

Neat idea. It was a bit of a bummer that there was no way to shake them off after they attached, would have been a neat feature to add. Also the score was not updating throughout gameplay, you only saw your score at the very end. I did like how the ship followed the mouse with a little lag, it made it feel more fluid like you were in space.

Super Economy Twins by meatpudding 2017-12-04T12:09:16Z

I like the idea for the theme! Found a bug that if you miss the portal at the end and keep going it starts you over. More obvious objective would be nice. Enemy was a little boring, I wish it would have been altered to fit the theme better. More interactive elements on the map would have helped spice it up.

Greedy Guy! by farofa0 2017-12-06T00:22:30Z

This is one of the most simple games I've played for LD40 so far, and I must say it's in my top 5 favorites! No audio is a bummer, and it sounds like you made it in a heck of a rush, but it's perfectly simple and fun. I hope you expand on this with different enemies and some variety of pickups!

Cyber Instinct by CyberPunks 2017-12-06T22:17:31Z

I liked it! Interesting take on a tower defense game. I think the graphics looked nice, but it was a little hard to distinguish individual objects, so some different colored lighting on turrets vs background for example could have helped. Sound was okay, it fit the game well. I wish there was a little more variety in the abilities of your bot besides just placing turrets, enemies didn't really stand out either and felt a little bland.

Overall it felt like a very well done game, especially for the timeframe. Good job!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-07T14:08:44Z

@tolmera Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and you picked up on some of the finer details!

The crash phase background and effects are triggered by a few things such as size of the planet, sometimes you start all the way in a space kind of background with no ground obstacles!

Originally I had the rockets slow enough to outrun, but I changed them to be faster. The reason is to combat the strategy of just floating as far as possible for max distance. You can lead them into planets/stars to cause them to explode. You can also lead the alien ships into stars to kill them.

If you found the game too hard, I added a last second "exploration mode" to the main menu. If you toggle this on, you cannot submit your score at the end, but you do not die when you run out of O2. Additionally you can continue to boost your ship in space once you are out of fuel. This lets people see the full game when the RNG isn't being kind to them.

If I had more time I definitely would have tweaked the RNG more, it can be brutal!

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-08T03:19:30Z

@thiago-nascimento Thanks for playing! Yeah the RNG can be brutal at times. I wanted it to be challenging to the players (especially with a leaderboard), but I didn't get enough time to properly balance the RNG on the explore phase. After the first planet, you can actively avoid more difficult planets if you play carefully.

If you are having a hard time, I recommend trying out the "explorer" mode, you will not die from lack of O2 and your ship works on no fuel. That way you can see more of the game without worrying about the RNG! You can toggle this from the main menu. It does make it so you cannot submit to the leaderboard, but it allows everyone to see the game in full.

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-08T21:38:15Z

@oune thanks for checking it out! I'm glad you enjoyed my post about the level generation. Tutorials were a major goal of mine for this entry, glad to see it worked out!

The controls on the re-entry phase are definitely a little sluggish. It changes based on the gravity of the planet, so if the planet has high gravity the ship takes longer to go back up, which can make it feel clunky. In theory it was cool, but I agree it didn't really play out as great in practice.

Thank you for the feedback!

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-09T03:18:01Z

@p-r I'm glad you liked the explorer mode! It was a last second addition, and I think it was a good one.

@stephenwhoskins The scope was larger than I have done in the past, it was a crazy 48 hours!

@lex Thank you very much!

@corrade I'm glad you found it replayable, I was really aiming for that with the leaderboard especially. I have also noticed a few little glitches with stuttering, I think it is just the web port unfortunately. As for the landing at 2k ft, I have also seen that and I think it is a result of me using ticks based on frames for some of the objects as opposed to the phsyics engine ticks, simple mistake! Thank you for the kind words!

@erin It was a _crazy_ 48 hours, I think I only slept for like 30 minutes on Sunday morning haha. The scope was much larger than I'm used to for this competition, but I think it came out okay! I'm glad you enjoyed the music changes, I really wanted different ambient noises and music for each planet biome but I ran out of time! I settled for different music in each phase instead.

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-09T14:41:33Z

@geoff-nagy I'm glad you enjoyed! I was excited about how well the transition between modes came together!

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-09T19:26:07Z

@el-fideo-rubio thanks for giving my game a play!

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-09T21:52:05Z

@unept seems to be okay for me, are you just getting a black screen? There is an issue with the Godot exports that cause this sometimes, try refreshing and it should come up. I've also only tested this on Firefox and Chrome. If you are using a different browser let me know and I will troubleshoot it so you can play!

There is a windows exec download available worst case, but the HTML link should work!

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-12T05:45:12Z

@lovetocode999 glad you enjoyed it! Agreed the controls for the crash phase ended up a bit clunky. The gravity of the planet affects how quickly the ship can move upwards, which in theory was going to be a neat little detail but in the end just makes it feel unresponsive.

Planet Jumpers by Adrenallen 2019-10-12T20:56:26Z

@pestodesign thanks for playing! I hope you enjoyed my post, it's a lot of fun writing those up! I'm glad you had fun, even if it wasn't exactly what you expected!

Better than nothing by Fictions 2019-10-08T02:26:17Z

Nice entry! Graphics were really lovable!

I wish that the abilities didn't truly unlock until you unlocked them (i.e. dash).

I really like the leaderboard! I had the same troubles with my game originally and had to setup SSL on my server so that it could record and get the scores from the web version, lost a solid hour to that one :(

Welcome Home by KP_CFTSZ 2019-10-08T00:46:17Z

Loved the music! Really neat art.

Idea was cool, wish there was more of a goal to everything. Also would have loved an eraser, I made a few oopsies :(

Before finishing the desk/chairs final, I tabbed away for a minute, when I came back my house was all gone :( So I did it again!

[My House](///raw/5ec/2/z/28880.png)

Good work!

Nix by slagathor 2019-10-09T02:30:37Z

Pretty gun! I like the audio and general art style!

I did run into a few things, namely that you move really quickly going diagonally and can out run everything. Since score accumulates with time, this seems to be the best strategy. Also, the keys seem sticky, for example if you move up and left, and then just hold up, you still move up and left until you either go the opposite direction or release all the keys.

Overall, was a fun game! Good job

Ooze for the Ooze Gods by maxdmg 2019-10-08T02:57:51Z

Really fun! It does feel like Katamari meets Risk of Rain! It was very satisfying to consume stuff, I wish we got to leave that little area and run through a full town, that would be a BLAST! Maybe consider continuing it after the competition? Could be a fun phone game! I also was a big fan of the sprite and art style as a whole.

I wish my score showed at the end so I could upload it as a picture here! Also hit a bug where sometimes when I was a huge blob, the guys I consumed at the edge of the screen would not fully animate so I ended up with standing people just stuck to the end of me.

ONE PIX by essarrgee 2019-10-08T00:55:15Z

I really like the concept here. Building your character from pixels and having to use the same pixels to attack was cool.

I kept hitting what I think was a glitch where the camera would stay stuck zoomed way in sometimes, and I'd have a hard time seeing where I needed to go. Also I reached the end, and killed the huge penguin, but it didn't seem like anything else would happen.

LD49 — Unstable

Nails, the great genius by Vivoubos 2021-10-12T01:29:58Z

Love the sound effects as most did.

Gamplay was really fun! This is a great example of a game that may not be the most beautiful but is a lot of fun to play.

The buddy system was great, and always a fan of less punishing deaths in these types of games so that was a nice touch for us less worthy players

Good job!

Keptin, de core is unstable! by Shigor 2021-10-12T01:41:34Z

This is one of my favorite games so far. The voice acting was awesome for an LD game! The humor was on point, not too much just right. The game was interesting enough, and short but to the point. Left off with room to expand into a bigger game. The art was so awesome, I really enjoyed the hand drawn approach. Audio was otherwise plenty good.

Really great game, I hope you expand this into something bigger one day.

Tribulation by Adrenallen 2021-10-04T16:45:37Z

Hey @baldurs thanks for the feedback!

There is an easy mode toggle if the game is too tough. There is an additional weapon on level 2 that makes things a little easier :) Also don't forget to use the insanity mode to improve your damage output!

Later in the game different weapons have a hidden "stun" stat. Using certain weapons improves your stun chance on enemies, which helps to clear larger areas.

Tribulation by Adrenallen 2021-10-06T00:30:40Z

@kbf123 thanks for the feedback! I agree I think the pipe needed more knockback and quicker stun to feel satisfying. I'm glad you enjoyed the boss fight, it took a good chunk of time. I hope you found some of the secrets of the insanity mechanic!

@swen Thanks for playing! I agree with you, I think if I did it again I would have made the weapons feel a little tighter and more satisfying.

Also reminder to be in insanity mode for double damage with the pipe :)

Tribulation by Adrenallen 2021-10-08T00:09:07Z

@potkirland thanks for playing! I agree the enemies could use less health and the pipe could use more "oomph".

@lesinvisible sorry you felt movement was a little off, can you be more specific about what you felt could be changed? I felt movement was pretty okay, so if it felt off would love to know how to improve it for the next game. I'm glad you had fun though and thank you so much for the feedback!

@almightyzentaco Thanks for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed the music! I really thought the "insanity" mode causing the music to change pitch made it really atmospheric and creepy, happy with how that came out. I did struggle with a few z-index issues unfortunately, especially with the doors. Currently things are set to z-index of their y per frame, but the doors unfortunately need to be "on top" of 3 layers of z-index, but _always_ be behind the player. This kinda goofed up the system that is in place and with the time constraint I wasn't able to re-evaluate it. I think next time around I will do the hack of either drawing the doors without the "behind the wall" pixels so they can be placed at a lower z-index and appear right, or build multiple tilemaps to handle background, middle, and foreground layers. As far as enemies, yes!! I wish I had gotten around to line of site checks, I started it but ultimately just dropped it in favor of some hacky "distance to enemy" calculations. The first level is definitely the worst of this, but the rest of the levels do a better job at not "seeing you" through the walls just by how the enemies are placed. I'm glad you enjoyed the game, I hope it was fun. I always make an effort to get the HTML export tidied up because it makes it so convenient. Thanks for the feedback!

Tribulation by Adrenallen 2021-10-08T01:33:12Z

@xedur thanks for playing! Yeah the wall of text can be daunting. I try to put the "play here" at the top so you can get right to the game if you want to and skip it. From experience it seems like a lot of people get frustrated and give up, I feel like the write-up can be helpful to quite a few that need the guidance. I would say the "artistic vision" definitely doesn't include it, but generally it helps based on the feedback I get. Combat, yep agreement :) Pathing wise, yeah definitely, I started working on a nav mesh but ended up settling on more levels/boss completion over correcting the pathing. 2 day jam as you said! I include the cut content simply because I think it's interesting to see. With other games I love hearing about ideas that got axed and imagining how they would have played out. I simply include it as an interesting tidbit more than anything! Thank you so much for the feedback! I will move the "walkthrough" to another page via a link to make the description text less of a burden :)

@epicgamefan I'm glad it grew on you! I was a little worried about this game at first honestly, felt like I cut the most ideas in this game versus other LDs I've done. I also pivoted game ideas ~4 hours in, which cost me some precious time. I think with some more meaty combat it could be a really great full featured game one day in the future if I revisit it.

Tribulation by Adrenallen 2021-10-10T17:09:53Z

@barelyevengames thank you for the feedback! I can see the half-life vibes with the pipe and first little intro area. I hadn't even thought about Amnesia for the comparison but I can see the similarities. I wish I'd gotten time to do different tilesets so the world got more and more nightmare-ish up to level 5, which obviously would have been sorta like Amnesia too!

Potion Trouble by Yorsh 2021-10-12T01:15:24Z

Fun little game. I _really_ dig the graphics, they are great! It took me a minute to figure out how exactly to play, but once I read the description it helped

I thought the music and sfx were really awesome.

I wish the different ingredients had a more pronounced effect on the mechanics. If there were changes I wasn't able to discern them much besides the jump effect.

I also had a case where the crystals spawned and sorta blocked me from a resource.

Overall I had fun. Great entry and well done!

Slime-a-pult by Swen 2021-10-04T17:09:32Z

Fun game! Loved the art style, first room was fun, wish we had more chances to tear up rooms like that. Sticky mechanic felt solid, no big issues or glitches. Sound for the slime was on point. Wish there were more interactive baddies throughout but overall very solid entry for 48 hours. This would be a fantastic mobile game, you should consider adapting it into a larger release. Well done!

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-05T00:08:35Z

This is a great game! The puzzles were just right on difficulty, not totally defeating but took a moment on some. Basic enough mechanics but flexible enough to stay interesting to the end. Well done!

Badly Designed Cargo Delivery Pad by jka 2021-10-04T16:44:38Z

I really enjoyed this one! Fun time killer. It's satisfying to get moving across the map at speed with cargo. Good job!

Unsteady by guimoliveira 2021-10-06T00:52:13Z

Great job on this one! I am stuck on level 7 but will return to see if I can best it. I like how the mechanics play. I feel like maybe he falls a little _too_ fast if you a/d. Almost faster than I could react, but still was really fun. Good job

B1OCK by GregoryBlomquist 2021-10-06T00:43:38Z

Great concept, I really like the camera mechanic. Great format for a jam game, lots of space to build a world and story in a time constraint. I wish the rooms had more decor in them generally, even just basic tables or something to make each room more distinguishable. Overall great job!

ESCAPE FROM AREA 49 (The Spiritual Successor to Pedal Power) by BarelyEvenGames 2021-10-06T01:00:28Z

This was a fun one! I don't have a 10 key but still managed a 26 score :) Great little concept, audio and graphics were right in line with the game.

Unstable Memories by potkirland 2021-10-06T01:31:00Z

Hey I liked this one! I didn't understand what to do at first, the levels shown on the lever aren't immediately apparent. Once I saw that it was not as difficult. Great mood overall, good art, and good idea!

Castle of Chaos by almightyzentaco 2021-10-06T01:53:41Z

This game is absolutely fantastic.

I am also really horrible at it. I didn't get very far, but I laughed at every single death. The audio and voice were just too good. The graphics were really great, the effects didn't feel repetitive and were unique in their own right.

This is one of my favorite games of LD49.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

You Will Die by cdunham 2022-04-15T04:09:11Z

Really liked the graphics style and concept at large! I've honestly played it a few times now, the first few times I had the dragon bug mentioned above. However it seems to be working now! I'm glad the timer and distance were shortened, it feels a lot better now length wise. And the dragon showed up and ended me

In general I like the world you all put together for this. As others have said, it would be really fun to play this where the Tarot cards would be sorta random as you are protecting the village from whatever doom is coming. I hope you continue to work on this and expand it out some more!

Last Breath by Adrenallen 2022-04-05T04:13:23Z

Sorry to hear that @ideaspersecond :(

The water physics could use some optimizing but I didn't get back around to it. Maybe try the desktop version if you want to give it another spin. I should probably add a "tiny map mode" for people that have lag so they can atleast get an idea of the game even if it's a smaller experience...

Thanks for trying it!

Last Breath by Adrenallen 2022-04-05T13:24:41Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

@mnikn I went back and forth on adding music. I settled on leaving it with the cave ambience because I felt like it had the biggest impact on that feeling of a desolate cave.

If I went music I think I'd have to somehow gauge the player situation and if they are in danger. Then I could go from more chill music to something intense as the player is scrambling to survive. Short of that I was worried it might cause some disconnect between the game and player, so given time I went with just the ambience and the rushing water/underwater sound effects.

After feedback it seems like maybe just some chill music would have been a better choice though :)

Last Breath by Adrenallen 2022-04-06T02:28:18Z

Thanks for playing everyone, and for the feedback!

@captaincarrot haha I do love Godot. Normally I try to style the default button themes so it feels like asset re-usey but time didn't allow for this one!

Thanks for the kind words. I also felt like drowning wasn't as much of a threat as I wanted. I actually wanted to avoid having fall damage originally so you could really just run around but it ended up not being challenging enough.

I'm planning to strip out the water engine and make it a reusable scene anyone can plug into a tilemap for their own game!

Last Breath by Adrenallen 2022-04-09T14:04:48Z

Thanks for playing everyone!

The screen maximize is a simple project setting tweak, I will make sure I do that in the future @wavertron !

I talked about it earlier in the comments too but I totally agree @finn-pickart . I normally try to clear the default Godot themes but just ran out of time for this one! I should have made the exit button on tutorial more obvious though, agreed. Thanks again for the feedback!

Last Breath by Adrenallen 2022-04-15T03:58:54Z

Thanks for playing everyone!

@kitkii I'm glad you enjoyed the ladder jumps, I thought they were fun too so I didn't remove the physics oddity  I totally agree I wish I had more explorables in there! I wanted to add rideable minecarts but ran out of time, that and more larger prefabs like the egg spawn. I also wanted to add more trap type interactions throughout the cave. Time made me cut most of those ideas  I did consider adding health pickups throughout the cave. I decided I liked it being harder in the end. I think what I'd do for health is add a specific prefab you could find that would potentially heal you something like 10% health, something very small but beneficial. Thanks for the feedback!

@vixenmink It seems most people blow themselves up with the dynamite at first. I probably should have added a label or something  Seems to be pretty funny though so it works! As for full-screen, yes I am sorry about that! It's a configuration change mostly and something I will make sure I address on future games. As for digging up, it was a conscious decision to leave it out. The main reason being that I didn't want people to dig tiny air pockets to escape the flooding waters. To try and counter this, I made sure the dynamite would explode high enough to dig sort of upwards. In the end I think it was okay, but the biggest problem I found from playtesting is that it encourages players to navigate down, then going back up is pretty painful and tedious. If I were to do this again, I'd consider some kind of alteration to the water system that would simulate water pressure. Something like by filling 1x1 areas above full water cells slowly so that it would flood upwards. Or something to the tune of that. I did make my water physics system a plugin for Godot, and that's something I plan to play with in the future for other people's games. You can see it here [https://github.com/adrenallen/WaterMap](https://github.com/adrenallen/WaterMap) Maybe I can solve the problem of water pressure entirely and simulate it properly to avoid the air pocket strategy in games like this. Thanks for the feedback!

@batkoi I'm glad you enjoyed the audio! I spent a lot of time on it to help build the atmosphere!

@zimny11 Yeah LOL. So I actually originally wanted to have the dynamite give you a boost at the expense of a bit of health, but I couldn't get it to feel right so I scrapped it in the final version. Glad you liked the game, thanks for playing!

Routine Medical Examination by Iamsodarncool 2022-04-13T01:52:17Z

This game was hilarious. I loved how it didn't take itself serious the whole time, and the ending was completely worth it. Especially as the dr did his thing in the final room LOL. We knew what was coming and it was still just executed flawlessly.

I also really enjoyed the level transition effect, especially when it expanded out to show there was more to a level halfway through. Really neat effect.

Clone Frenzy by eLeDe 2022-04-05T04:05:48Z

22 clones, come at me :stuck_out_tongue:

Had a lot of fun with this one. Simple enough but there was something addictive about trying to find the best spot on the map to sorta hide-out.

Agree with the other comments that the movement could use some fine-tuning.

This game is great! I really wish there was a leaderboard so I could compete with my friends.

Great job, the slowmo effect was spot on and the physics felt good. As others have said, would love to play this on my phone :)

Wow. The art, the colors, the audio, the simple but fun gameplay. Absolutely crushed it with this entry. Great work.

I really enjoyed the take on the theme. The sound was great, which helped set the mood. Humor was there (I mean c'mon it is hilarious). Graphics weren't anything great, but they did the job. Solid entry.

@VinegarLove it appears to be an error with the HTML5 version specifically :( Not sure what all I can do to resolve it but I will definitely dig in. Thanks for the heads up!

EDIT: I've uploaded the executable versions now, give one of those a shot if you're having trouble.

Art of the Kill by Adrenallen 2018-04-23T04:25:33Z

@FussenKuh @BlackAtlas I appreciate the feedback! I'm debating uploading a *slightly* easier version where the red guys have 30% less health and do 20% less damage. It starts to get good when the color suckers and slugs show up and I don't want people to miss that content!

@Q-ro thanks for the feedback! I agree about the indicator. It's something I unfortunately didn't revisit due to time. I think even just adding shadows would help a lot.

@Carvster I agree it's pretty hard, I may upload an easier version here soon so people can see more of the game.

Art of the Kill by Adrenallen 2018-04-24T23:11:13Z

@Q-ro I increased the player slow-down rate to help with the floaty feeling. I've noted it in the post-deadline changelog above. I also made the game slightly easier by decreasing the clawer damage/health and decreased the overall enemy count in various levels.

BIRKANOID by MateCziner 2018-04-24T23:45:23Z

Easily my favorite game so far. Fits the theme great, is fun to play, graphics are perfect for it, sounds fit the style, controls are simple and intuitive. Fantastic job!

Dual-Threat Quarterback by Jack Hipson 2018-04-23T03:39:40Z

Awesome idea! I really enjoyed the take on the theme, really creative. The game played smooth and was a lot of fun. I do wish that the players turned around slowly instead of instantly flipping, it makes it much harder to judge where to go. Additionally the second level with the instant rush is a bit unfair to the player, I feel like the defender either being slower or being moved back to have more reaction time would be better.
