I liked the style of graphics you went with and the control scheme I found to be very nice and easy to use. Reminds me a lot of the binding of issac in the way it plays. There were a few frame rate issues on the mac but for all, I know it could be my own system. Nonetheless, thank you for including a mac version as I know it took more time than just running with windows. Good game overall and good job.
Suggestion: ilkj does not feel very intuitive, why not arrow keys?
I actually really enjoyed this game. It played a little laggy for me, but collecting energy to use as ammo was really neat. I wish the death event had some form of animation, and there was a better variety of enemies. Overall, good submission!
took me a bit to figure out the theme concept, it was a very good game that did occasionally get laggy. nice job.

I often found the input keys unresponsive - made the game unplayable unfortunately. Low frame rate also didn't help the playability when it was responding to input.

I actually liked the format and that you could also shoot diagonally. Also it seems (from the choppy framerate) that you programmed this completely by yourself? Very impressive and takes me back to my days where I also programmed games in Java :D
Anyhow, nice little game and nice implementation of theme!
Unfortunately, low frame rate made this game less enjoyable than it could be, but the concept por the game itself was good.

it was interesting. nice graphics. kind of laggy dont know why. the controls where difficult to use. great work.
i really like the level generation and the general feeling of the level (size and space)
also the bullet collection feels good
it is however really laggy, so really difficult to play
but good job

The game was slow (nearly unplayable unfortunately) for me on HighSierra OS X. The level generation looked nice!
Unfortunately I have to add myself to the "Nearly unplayable" list. MacBook Pro Early 2015 (2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM, Iris Pro 6000 graphics). The idea seemed pretty cool from what I could glean when the inputs worked.
Good job! Fun game with some very cool-looking minimalistic graphics. It's clear that you've put a lot of hard work into this :) People seem to be complaining about low framerate, and I wonder if it's because you're drawing so many polygons on the screen with Graphics2D. I had this problem with a game I made a while ago where I used Graphics2D — it works fine if all you're doing is drawing images, but if you want to rotate / enlarge images or draw polygons (e.g. with fillRect), it slows to a crawl. If you're interested in making more games in Java, I'd recommend checking out LibGDX, as it's pretty simple to use and is built for game development (so it avoids problems like this).

nice game, I like the Level generation and the twin stick controls. The laggy maybe it's for the engine that you used. To improve gameplay, maybe you can put some random energy spamming across the map over time, I run out of energy and only can die.
Impressive game considering it looks like you made your own engine! The game was a little laggy for me, but totally playable. The collision detection had a few quirks that actually added to the game. Like the enemies hit boxes seemed a bit bigger than the sprites, meaning there were cases where it felt like your bullet should have missed, but it would hit. This was fun when I managed to take out 2-3 enemies with a single shot in some instances. The enemy bullets would sometimes slide across the walls instead of colliding with them when coming in from an angle and that was a little silly looking, but didn't have a negative impact on gameplay. I think if there was one thing that this game could have really used is a game over screen with a score based on kills / floors explored.

The game is built on a very good concept... Sometimes the color is a bit too hurting for eye... The frame rate of this game is a bit slow in my PC, IDK why, but I think you might have set the frame rate to 30 fps or something like that... And it is very difficult to find the relation of the game with the theme.... The thing you mentioned in the description helped me to find that out.. As a player it is invisible to me, the total enemy count... But anyways, it was a good game....
