LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

Runaway Corruption by Move127 2017-12-04T23:18:12Z

It runs really well and it definitely has a wonderful consistent art and sound style. I enjoyed the gameplay and liked how you could blow up parts of the tiles to give yourself breathing room. The tutorial is also very much appreciated.

SiniS is not in Space by BoltKey 2017-12-04T19:24:31Z

Good use of the theme. I like the online aspect and the tutorial, in the beginning, was nice. The UI feels a little tight at times but it gets the job done well. The gameplay was a fun little bullet hell type game which could easily make people want to come back again and again to get just a tad bit higher score.

A cozy winter walk by tinyworlds 2017-12-05T02:53:42Z

The only thing that can make this game more calming is if I had tea while I played it. I like your approach to the theme and the background sounds were nice.

Wormhead by elemel 2017-12-04T23:02:06Z

It was quite fun to become a worm of space doom. And it ran really smoothly on my computer which is nice. I also appreciated it being able to run it on mac. The art and music mix really well and the aesthetic gives it a nice arcade look. I found it an enjoyable game.

The Pointy Stick Hypothesis by peterthehe 2017-12-05T16:17:06Z

The music was nice and graphically it was pleasing and fit the theme. The gameplay felt smooth and the dialog trees were really nice to use. I liked how you had an overarching story going on and overall I enjoyed this game. I also did fly to the moon as well but found out if you hold [A] you can fall back to the earth and once there just press [ENTER] and you will continue the game.

Sailor Wolf by Pashok 2017-12-05T02:43:52Z

It looks and sounds really good. A little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it, it becomes really fun.

Headache by Number6406 2017-12-04T23:09:18Z

Reminds me a lot of papers, please. And given that you made it in only ten hours is extremely good. I liked how the names were a little different and the sound effects helped me figure out what was happening. My only suggestion would be to make the rating system a little more obvious, but that is only a personal preference. Good job overall.

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-04T19:10:33Z

My only real complaint was that it was so short and had an abrupt ending. Besides that, it had a wonderful atmosphere and I kept getting the feeling I was playing dark souls. The graphics matched up perfectly and the style of music would have fooled kept me immersed. Overall a wonderful game.

Infectious Void by Odrez 2017-12-04T19:35:44Z

@odrez I definitely think this has a lot of potential it checks the same boxes a souls game does for me. In that it was immersive and the feeling of learning the level and gameplay to become better. Obviously, you had time constraints which would limit any big development but for the time given It was very impressive. If you could have managed to add a boss fight then this short level would have ended perfectly.

Curse Collector by bridgs 2017-12-05T00:22:31Z

I really liked this games. Each curse was unique and stacked on to each other become bundles of fun. I think the graphics and aesthetic work well. And the gameplay was fun to do. The lack of sound is definitely felt but the charm of the rest of the game help to carry it on.

Spin Attack by ditzel 2017-12-04T21:25:18Z

I found the puzzles to be well thought out and the music to fit perfectly. The art makes you focus on the objects and is surprisingly calming. I also really like liked the switching mechanism as it added a lot to the game. Overall a wonderful game.

Sticky Plague by Thesoreon 2017-12-04T20:29:37Z

Good: I found the game enjoyable. The animations and artwork are great and well done. The music is not bad as your help menu would suggest but I do love the fact you included the ability to toggle off and on the music. The sense of progression is nice and I like the included stats page.

Suggestions: As I am sure you have already thought of more enemies and a more varied area would increase this games enjoyment. But given the time constraints, it is nonetheless a great job.

Sticky Plague by Thesoreon 2017-12-04T20:52:04Z

@thesoreon I can see where the progression and armor systems were planed. But as you said with only 48 hours you can only get so much done. It is a very nice base concept for a game and it reminds me a lot of those ultra addicting mobile games where you hop on for five minutes level up when you get time. If you were to continue development you might want to look at the mobile realm as this seems like a perfect hit for the mobile market. You did a good job getting in content with the time constraints.

Stand your ground by GistNoesis 2017-12-05T00:15:37Z

A fun game that definitely ramps into a challenge. I really liked how well it runs online. At least for me, it loaded fast and the gameplay was responsive. And you want to sing to yourself the song "I won't back down" as you play. As some other people had stated the aiming is a little hard. Overall I really liked it though.

All-You-Can-Loot Cavern by Deatrathias 2017-12-04T20:42:56Z

I liked the wide variety of weapons and liked that the weapons having only a limited use. This is a great gameplay mechanic that the new Zelda uses to force players to use more than one weapon which I think you accomplished as well. Visually I think it did a good job with fully animated and variety of monsters being very welcomed. With only a small minor ui scaling bug that I encountered on the main menu. My only suggestion and this is purely personal preference is that the ui gets so distracting and I would like the ability to move the object ui around. Overall I enjoyed it and could see you continuing the development of this game.

Trip to the Earth by guilhermesouza 2017-12-04T23:26:28Z

Really creative and the music fits really well. I enjoyed how the gravity got stronger and the game got harder the bigger you were. The only suggestion is to perhaps make it a little bit more obvious the target mass you need to stay under. This was a fun game though.

Captain Capsize by Lance Krasniqi 2017-12-05T01:25:20Z

This game was really really good. The music was nice and fit very well. The graphics were bright and nice to look at. The gameplay was fun and made sense. Overall polish was great. This was a good entry.

Sword Collector by Dave Siegel 2017-12-04T21:36:46Z

I enjoyed slowly becoming a gigantic sword carrying machine so good job there. I agree with the above comment that feedback at times was hard to judge. But I think it accomplished what you set out to do so good job.

Don't be Greedy! by Compufreak 2017-12-05T21:10:13Z

Congrats on finishing your first game. Overall I think you managed to accomplish a lot in 48 hours so be happy with that. I played it on firefox and it worked flawlessly. I found the item chooses to be fun especially the minigun. The graphics matched that old time arcade feel. Gameplay wise it was defiantly challenging but manageable. The speed of the game seemed to by very high in my opinion but not bad at all. Overall good job.

Snèèz! by Mazzletov 2017-12-04T20:03:12Z

As someone who just got over being sick, this brought me great comfort in killing the virus.

Swift Thief by kantora 2017-12-05T15:28:24Z

I found the steeling mechanic to work well. I liked how the arm would reach sometimes incredible far away to grab an object. Some things you may want to implement later is as someone previously said an objective object, and perhaps moving guards to up the challenge. A good game entry and I am glad for the mac port as so many people do not have one.

Cody by Sapazu 2017-12-04T23:57:14Z

I found the gameplay to be really smooth and polished considering the time constraints. I liked the art style and the little animations that play. The bat getting more and more bloody was a nice touch. The dialog was humorous and the achievements were all very fun. The only suggestion I have is that the achievements tend to stay on the screen for a long time sometimes blocking gameplay which may not be the intended effect. Overall a great first game jam submission.

The Cult of Refrigodrator by mochakingup 2017-12-05T03:36:57Z

This game looks good, this game sounds good, this game plays good. A creative idea and polished gameplay. You did a great job.

2D Pixel Shooter by volatile 2017-12-04T21:05:56Z

I liked the style of graphics you went with and the control scheme I found to be very nice and easy to use. Reminds me a lot of the binding of issac in the way it plays. There were a few frame rate issues on the mac but for all, I know it could be my own system. Nonetheless, thank you for including a mac version as I know it took more time than just running with windows. Good game overall and good job.

The Shepherd by TheTopHatNoob 2017-12-04T20:09:34Z

@move127 I definitely agree that I may have made the map to big. Originally I was going to have hundreds of sheep but for performance and gameplay reasons I dropped that. You can actually get up to 150 sheep so I kept the map big but thinking back on it the pacing does not justify the map size. Like the previous commenter said I should have added an arrow or something. I thought the far-out view would solve that problem but I realize now that l should have added an easier way to find sheep without resulting in opening your map every few seconds.

The Shepherd by TheTopHatNoob 2017-12-04T21:11:05Z

@move127 that would probably help fix what in my opinion is the greatest flow of the game right now, pacing. I was also thinking about changing the amount of sheep you get each day and such. But overall I think changing the map/map size would help accomplish the same thing.

The Shepherd by TheTopHatNoob 2017-12-05T15:33:05Z

@elemel I agree on all of those things. I was working on implementing suggestion 1 and 3 but only managed to get near but not finished with 1. Sheepdogs is a new idea though and I like it.

Immune Invasion by Chong Lee 2017-12-05T00:36:41Z

Very creative game. I enjoyed the verity of bacteria to fight and the sound blended well into the game.

Supermarket Blues by mightymarcus 2017-12-05T20:58:58Z

This game might as well have been a simulator of some of my former job experiences. A wonderfully fun game that was obviously made by someone who knows the pain of working retail. In summary good job.
