I don't think Windows users will have any luck running your game, sadly!

I don't think Windows users will have any luck running your game, sadly!
HTML5 port would have been nice addition for us stuck with windows :)
Unity should let you generate an HTML version pretty easily. For windows you'll most likely need to open the project in unity on windows and build it there (this could be in a virtual machine, for example) .. I don't recall if unity will allow you to cross compile directly, I'm sure its possible but may not be the most obvious thing to do. Web version with the unity player would be the easiest option to get this working for all people.
I'm giving up after waiting 10min for the .app to zip on google drive for a download (it didn't even get to 25% after that amount of time). It would be helpful if you provided a link to a zip, rather than the .app in google drive as `.app` 'files' on mac are actually a directory full of stuff.
Edit: Played the html5 version. Pretty fun, I agree with others it'd be fun if you could control the arm with the mouse in game, and maybe the arm keeps growing as long as you hold the fire button, so you could (at least attempt to) swipe a whole table worth of stuff in one go.. some gameplay refinements like that and more polished art I bet you could get a bunch of plays of a game like this on mobile devices and such as a little time-waster type game. Nice job :)
I plan on getting the game to run on itch.io on a browser. I will probably update the description with a link when I'm done. Thank you for letting me know!
Edit: The game is now on itch.io
I enjoyed this game a lot)
Man I can spend hours in the main menu just waving that arm around haha! The game's also fun, it's a cool concept. I wish there's more incentive to steal instead of just increasing your score though, or maybe different "cash" values for each of the items. All in all nice submission, well done!
Thank you for your responses! While making the game I wasted a lot of time on that menu every time I started too, there's just some magic to it! I thought about making it more "gamey" as you suggested but I wasn't actually planning on releasing it so it's just the bare bones of an idea. When I saw the theme I started brain storming and decided to make this game for myself but it just spiraled from there...
I'll be honest, I was super disappointed stealing didn't work like the menu, and pressing space fired out an arm that followed my mouse cursor grabbing stuff...
...not to say what I actually got was bad though! just your menu set me up for disapointment!
lol that's a neat idea should've thought of that  Thanks for your feedback!
I agree with @mrnyarlathotep using the hand in menu to steal things will be really fun! I think you may add some target for every room so there will be more motivation for player to steal things!
Anyway it's a Good entry! REALLY REALLY like the arms in Menu!!
Man this game is great, I lold at the the title screen, with his crazy hand! It's a shame you didn't implement it into the gameplay. Still really fun to play though
So glad to hear you all liked the game and especially the menu screen!! That screen sure is a lot of fun but unfortunately I didn't even think about making it a game mechanic  Anyways it was a lot of fun to make and I'm really happy you guys love that arm in the menu. Your feedback is deeply appreciated thank you so much!!!
This is honestly really fun. Like everyone else, I loved the arm at the begining.
I found the steeling mechanic to work well. I liked how the arm would reach sometimes incredible far away to grab an object. Some things you may want to implement later is as someone previously said an objective object, and perhaps moving guards to up the challenge. A good game entry and I am glad for the mac port as so many people do not have one.
@thetophatnoob yeah I can't rate like 75% of the games because I have a mac so it's nice to see mac ports every once in a while... Thank you
First of all thank you for your kind post about our game! I can honestly say that I love your game too! You had me right from the title screen-- I could have played a whole game based around that arm! The game itself is very fun, I love that you can reach across the tables with that long noodly arm, and just the idea of a creature drawing attention to itself because it's carrying around a ton of stolen items is hilarious! Great work and thanks again! :D
I felt like Stealy from Rick and Morty's Interdimensional Cable TV and appropiate sound effects and phrases played in my head all the time - it was a lot of fun! The Menu is AMAZING!
This is a really fun concept for a game, I'm very grateful that I'm on Mac so I can play it! It felt pretty satisfying to steal things from the desks without them noticing. Also, the main menu was very creative, I amused myself making the arm go in loops :)
This is pretty cool! I do think that the people need a better detection system, because multiple times, a guy further away would turn to me but his friend 3 inches from me wouldn't.
With some polish and refinement, this thing could really go places!
Thank you so much! @krasssenstein That happens because everyone in a certain radius has a chance of looking so sometimes someone further will look while someone next to you won't. However tweaking the chance based on distance is a nice touch! I might just remake the game with all of your suggestions in mind when ludum dare ends.
@adsilcott Happy to support your game and to see the recognition it now has (though only like 2 people came from me). I just found it to be a real masterpiece. From what I've seen people say you're too slow or they'd like an explanation at the start but I think it's much better the way it is!
Thank you all for your kind feedback!
Very fun game! I love the concept :) I got some strong Stealy (Rick and Morty) vibes from this. Could be a fun mobile game if you ever wanted to develop it any further. I would play it :) The game would have been a lot more interesting with some music and sound effects though. All in all a job well done! :)
Quite nice game, but if you didn't read the controls on this page then it was quite hard to figure out how stealing worked. So some instructions in the game would have been great. If you went in to a table the character got stuck and you had to reverse away from it which was really annoying :( It would have been smoother if you could slide against the table without getting stuck all the time. The idea was nice but some sound and tweaks here and there would help it.
The arm in the menu was nice :)
@svarttand yeah I should fix that table thing now that you mention it, I didn't notice that... and it really could use some sound and a controls menu or some kind of tutorial to explain how the game works.
@tim-eriksen Based on all the feedback I've been contemplating more and more about making a mobile version with this arm mechanic. Also it was actually stealy in the beginning but I couldn't make the character look good from a top down perspective so I just made this yellow blob instead
Thank you for commenting
I really like the concept ! It's very fun. I think a tutorial will be cool ! Maybe add some music or something and it will be super great
really good concept and it is so fun, I wish you could add some sounds, overall I loved, great game !
That was funny. It was easy to understand how to play it except that I spent some time in the menu :P
This was really fun! I wish I knew how much I stole at the end.
@josh-ayres if you manage to get to the end without being caught it shows how much items you stole
10/10 for the menu alone. Would have loved to see that art/arm style continue into the core game, but it was still pretty good, maybe the cones of vision on the office workers could have been a little bit more visible. Good work friend!
EDIT: Apologies for the misunderstanding, I meant the little white glow the shows where they're looking was sometimes a bit hard to read for me, its a pretty small issue anywho.
@koficola The workers don't have fields of vision, It just looks like it so you can see their rotation. When they are looking at you they can see you stealing and when they aren't they can't. However they cannot see past the tables so use them to hide yourself. Thank you for commenting!
Super fun. BTW I fixed my link :D
Fun! Nice entry!! It was difficult to see when the people was looking at me with so many.. but, that's the point isn't it? It is difficult to steal.
I loved the hand effect and the hand in the main menu hahaha
Cool entry! I ran away with 65 items. This is one of the better interpretations I've seen where hte "more you have the worse it gets" is not just a principle but is tightly wound into the gameplay and theme of the entire experience.
There are actually 159 items in the game but my record is closer to 110 or something... If someone can get them all that is truly a remarkable feat! Thank you!
Great game. I really love the gameplay and it's actually pretty funny to play :D
If you are interested, please check out my LD40 game [Escape Infection!](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/escape-infection)
"Don't waste more than two hours in the menu :)", At the first time I was like "Huh ... That is not that cool !" and I started playing. After dying, I strated playing with this weird arm, and I was like "Ok, I confess, that is fun" x) I was not ready for that x)
But the game in itself is wuite good ! It lacks music, but I ofund the concept really interesting and you managed to make something really well done ! Great job ! The little tricky thing is that the guy stuck himself on tables, so that is a little annoying, but that is fun to play !
Great job again ! Keep coding !
I really like this game, I think it's a great barebones template of what a good stealth game should be like (avoiding line of sight, not instantly dying if someone sees you, staying away for a while to let their suspicions die down, etc.) Loved the little arm on the title screen, kind of sad to not really use it like that in gameplay.
At times too many people is looking directly towards you so it is imposible to steal unnoticed. Other than that, the game looks cool. The way you did the menu, with the stretchy hand, I was expecting that it will be like that in-game. That would be awesome :)
Well done for a compo game! Keep up the good work.
A nice concept for a game and it works pretty well I just wish It functioned more in line with how it does in the menu, having to navigate your arm using your mouse across a table to steal a pen without knocking items that might draw the attention of the workers would be pretty great. Nethertheless it’s a pretty fun little game. Great Work!
@niterich It really is just template of a game but I'm glad to see you like it and think that it's the way stealth should be in games.
@kaisean-games Imagine working in an office seeing a cute yellow monster go by with piles of office supplies, wouldn't you look?! Anyways near the end of each stage they do look frequently but they can see you steal three times in a row without doing anything so it's manageable...
And finally to all, using the arm like in the menu is a great idea; Wish I thought of it before the end, it could be an interesting game mechanic I will probably explore it further after LD. Thank you for all of your responses, you've been really kind!!
Not bad, finally a game that matches the theme. WebGL version has apparently problems with sounds.
There's no problem, just no sound in the game... Thanks!
A good implementation of the theme. It was a little short however (or is there more to it than the first 6 or so items to steal). I really liked the intro screen.
@volatile go through the door in the upper right corner to proceed lol
@kantora I will :P (The WebGL version doesn't show it in full screen mode)
Solid and fun game, kind of reminds me of Stealy from Rick and Morty. Also fits theme quite right. The only thing I was slightly dissapointed by lack of IK hand after seeing it in main menu, but game is fun nontheless.
That was very funny! would have loved musics and SFX ;) good job anyway!
Very interesting! I love the extending hand and how it's used in the main menu screen!
Nice take on a stealth game! Some sound and music would have been nice.
