ARCADE OVERFLOW by Remco 2017-12-04T14:26:38Z
Loved the concept! With some tweaking and some different games to play, I could find myself playing this for hours honestly! Fits the theme very well too. Good job!

Loved the concept! With some tweaking and some different games to play, I could find myself playing this for hours honestly! Fits the theme very well too. Good job!
Boy, you really follow the theme, don't you?? Those ants get really nasty after the 100 kills! But it's well made, solid, I liked it, good job!
Really nice game! Yeah, it's buggy but 72 hours are 72 hours. Really enjoyed the models. It has potential, I'd play a polished version of this!
A simple, well made tower defense game. The difficulty may not be very well balanced? It just seems that, at a certain point, there isn't anything you can do. But hey, it got me hooked enough to try at least 10 times, so well done!
Fun little game! Could work on mobile, honestly, I could see myself playing this in the subway or the bus. Some weird animations here and there but I actually enjoy the art! Nice work!
I'm surprised at how much fun I found myself playing this. Honestly, give it some upgrades, some different level layouts, all those shenanigans and you have a nice, casual, relaxing (anxienty inducing) game!
Well, I liked the graphics, but yeah, it is a bit buggy. However, it can be good if you put keep working on it. 48 hours is not a lot of time after all. But hey, good job regardless!
Oh boy, oh boy, loved those visuals! Classic pong but seriously, those graphics made it well worth my time!
Boy what an amazing *cough* frustrating *cough* experience! Very well made game, maybe consider slowing down the moving input? Found myself falling off of platforms way too much. And I don't know if it's just me, but the resolution wasn't the best.
Good game though, congrats!
Now that was refreshing, such an original concept. You did great with this one. It's simple and great but there's always room for improvement! If you continue to work on this, consider some more events and maybe more features other than go to the hospital. Great job!
Well done game! Although, try to be careful with the UI, next time, it should be the same in wether it's full screen or not, just a little tip! Other than that, keep up the good work!
I enjoyed this one! The only improvement I would like to see would be: obviously more structures, and an alternative way to create power, my hand really hurts... maybe space bar too?? And 2 seconds for the surger interval seems way too big so it doesn't feel very rewarding... 0.5-1.5 would be perfect. Great job!
What an oddly relatable story! I admit that I cracked up at the catching money part and ESPECIALLY in the Duck Tales parody! I loved it and it made me laugh. good job!
Really interesting! Makes you time your shots very well to prevent you from getting stuck inside your own mass! Never would've thought of the 360 mode, nice one there! Good game overall!
This is really cool! Love the graphics. Takes a bit to get used to the 4 tracks, but that's part of the fun. Good job.
I love the art style! And that transiction between night and day? Love it! Those foxes gave me anxiety! Good job.
Plays well, looks good, it's fun for puzzle-lovers. Great game!
Nice little fun game! Made me laugh once I figured out what I was supposed to do. Nice job!
I really enjoyed this one! Good animations and I liked how the graveyard was built! Kinda disappointed that there wasn't a shovel as a weapon, I mean it's the gravedigger! That would've been a nice touch! Overall, very good, I like horde games, and I definitely enjoyed getting that ticket to the Bahamas. A multiplayer in this game would be real fun too! Has potential, good job!
It's fun and it looked nice!
Nice game. Some sounds would've given a certain kick, it's a "shooting" game afterall. But other than that, well done, liked the concept!
What a great game! So simple but so interesting. If you polish this game, I would buy it and play it for hours on end, and I'm sure I'm not the only one!
Really good game that fits the theme! Well done with the audio. I enjoyed how simple the mechanics were
I really enjoyed this! I would continue to work on this if I were you, it has really good potential! Adding some new features like goals, enemies, more space structures would make it amazing! Nice job.
That was fun, the main character sprite size is a bit weird, I liked the art and animations though. Good music too, as refered in othr comments, the key assignment could have been better. Good game overall!
I really enjoyed the sprites, maybe add a less "noticeable" sound effect to the jump and definitely add more gravity! But it was well executed, a nice concept, with more enemies, weapons, upgrades, etç etç, could be a great game!
I liked it, simple yet fast paced. You know a game is good when it gives you mild anxiety but you keep playing it
This is such a great idea, I don't know how I've never seen it before. Good animations, good art and sound too. There's not much to the game but, honestly, it doesn't need anything else. Great job!
Ahhh a good old rage game! Used to love these a few years ago, this one as an unique charm to it, I like it! Very nice idea!
Well done with the physics! That menu song was so eeriee, DEFCON style, I loved it!
Nice and simple, a good casual game straight to the point. Nice job!
Ahhh I missed a game like this! I hope I'm not thrown in jail for saying that is somewhat "relaxing" because of it's simplicity. Very well done!
Thank you everyone for the nice comments!
@remco , Your version of pong gave me mild anxiety ahah!
Yes, originally it was just one score, even RAM, so you had to manage very well what you did because you ran out of ram it was game over. But that proved to be just too difficult, then I tried just the pong score but I wanted to give the player a feeling of "the more time I survive, the better I do!" and that's where the timer-ish point system came from. But I'll definitely take that into account!
I don't even know how I did not think of adding some sort of "You don't have enough points" thing in the anti-virus ahah...
And I see a lot of people struggling with the difficulty so I'll definitely implement the "3 strikes you're out" thing.
Again, thank you everyone for the feedback!
@mrthee Thank you! And that was an actual game feature ahah, pop ups took 1 click to go away, adds took 2 and virus took 3!
This was interesting. Unlike a lot of people apparently, I was able to finish the game and great job! Especially since this way your first Unity game. Love the sprites and animations too. Those really high pitched notes in the music kinda made me want to rip my ears out... but other than that, very well done!
I loved this game. Such a nice concept and those enemies are some nasty little buggers! Even being simple, I felt terrified when I couldn't see a damn thing, especially when those little cubes popped up! Great job, mate, amazing first entry!
This was a simple yet relaxing game, had one or two features, rewards and whatnots and you have a great a game on your hands!
Loved how everything came together! Found myself laughing quite a lot. Great casucal game!
A simple platformer, I liked the theme of it, even though I couldn't quite see the Jam theme in there. Keep up the good work!
Fun game! Found myself screaming "RUSH TO THE NEXT COIN!" a lot! Good job!
Nice concept. Although I couldn't get more than $1000? That was weird and got me kinda stuck, maybe I missed something. But I still liked it, it has nice art too! Very simple yet effective
That game over screen got dark really fast! But I liked the game, gave me a lot of nostalgia for the old games. Certainly impessed by the NES rom and how genuine it looks! Good game!
The controls are a bit rough, but it's a good concept and it was pretty fun once I finally managed to go into the first wormhole!
I don't know if it is just me, but sometimes my download links aren't showed. Just in case, here you go!:

@mrsylar59 not knowing the real value was exactly what I was aiming for, make people hesitate before they discard something x) I thought about that grid idea! But I had never done anything like it and I didn't feel like I could learn it in less than a day without getting frustrated, so I put that time in polishing other parts of the game! Thank you for the review :)
@mutskun thank you, means a lot! :)
A good simple runner! Although I felt like it lacked motivation. Having a score system would've made me fight more to do good. But a solid story and soundtrack. Overall a good game!
Nice game! Looking at the other comments, I don't think I need to tell you that it was a bit hard to clear the skeletons ahah. But I had fun, and it made me want to play a few times to get a higher score! Good game!
A very solid game! Love the graphics. I can see the influence of several games and I honestly think you guys should keep going with this!
What a great concept! I felt like the timers would not give enought time, but maybe I'm just bad at the game
Me and my girlfriend actually giggled at this. Very good use of the theme, although the combo system was a bit hard to execute, but it was implemented! Good job.
Well, well, well, look who it is! Good to see you here, mate.
Solid game, but yeah, I also got the bug where I had 10 ships once the Zomborgos got to you (And you forgot to add an "Exit" button, classic). Your audio never fails to amaze me btw! And that text animation was a nice touch!
Now don't be lazy and go review my game!
I actually chuckled a little bit at this game haha, who would choose work over arcade??
It was a nice little game! Sometimes the character just freezes which caused me to just randomly die sometimes, not sure if that was intentional or not? It was great fun nonetheless!
@benburgh Thank you! That means I did a good job designing it, ahah!
@cute-dog-irl Yeah, I was going for a rage game so this game is definitely for the crazy individuals that play stuff like Cat Mario (Bless them and their patience)
@plagueofminds Thank you! That's super nice to read! Glad you liked it!
@slashee-the-cow I used BoscaCeol! Thank you for reminding me to put that in the game's description. I was going for frustrating so that is kind of a compliment to me, ahah. Personally, I don't really enjoying rage games, but I must say that they're an easy go-to when you're under pressure to make them!
@acuriosity Wow, I actually don't know how to feel about this comment, ahah! Thank you, I think! And yes, I do admit I slacked on the SFX, I was so invested on making the music that I completely forgot about the rest of the sounds. But oh well, that's the importance of TODO lists and the consequences to not making them, better luck next time! Thank you for your patience and comment! :)
@hempuli Thank you! Ah yes, the platforming balance took me a bit to figure out (Perfectly aware that it is not perfect!). Nonetheless, I'm glad you enjoyed it and that you were able to beat it!
Loved the graphics! Kinda sad there wasn't (or that I didn't find it) a way to automate the smelting (?) production though!
As mentioned in other comments, it's very easy to find two cards that cancel each other out and just play forever :) other than that, it's a fun game with a fun concept, just needs a bit of balancing! Fits the theme very well!
It's fun to mess around! But yeah, it lacks that feeling of danger and the possibility to lose. It's a good idea though
It's a fun game! Getting locked in a room kinda sucks but I guess it's more motivation not to die ahah. It's a nice little concept though.
PS: The continuos shooting upgrade is a an unbalanced killing machine, and I love it :)
I also gave up on level 4 ahah, very interesting take on the theme! I had my fun!
A really nice concept!
The colossus' graphics were great! I liked the gamed although some controls felt uncomfortable
This is a great game and it fits the theme soooo well! I loved it! On my second try, I finally found land with a score of 10,145 :) The music kept you relaxed and made you feel like you're floating while the SFX kept you on your toes and reminded you that every choice matter and you could sink at any second. Amazing!
Gave me a type of nostalgia that feels fresh. Does that even make sense? I'm not sure, but take it as a compliment, ahah, good job! :)
This really surpassed my expectations! It's actually really fun! Good job!
Oof, I got caught up playing this game and ended up playing for an hour... at work... I'm lucky I didn't get caught  It's a very fun game! Super simple yet addicting, shame you can't sell stuff that you already put down! My employees lost way too much time at those water coolers!! Good job :)
I'm a simple man: I see my name, I click. Ahah it's a fine game. I could see myself playing this with a bunch of friends (lepercaun vs fairies type of game) if it had more levels! It's solid and I didn't really find any way to break it. Good job! :)
That was... Intriguing?? Super fun though! Good job, love the art!!
I got stuck after the email part but it was still pretty awesome! Quite an interesting take on the genre and the theme! Super original, I loved it!
Took me a while to get the hang of it but it's a cool game! I found it a bit hard? Maybe I just suck at it? Or maybe you were actually going for that ahah, either way, it gave it that feeling of stress that I felt was somewhat essential! Good job overall :)
@bleyo yeah, I feel like I didn't have enough time to balance the game. I had my friends test it and they're the type of people that like Souls-like games, so they enjoyed the extra challenge, so I thought I'd leave it be! Ahaha I admit, it wasn't one of my most original games, but I'm glad it was well executed! Thank you for the feedback :)
@hutchings90 Super happy to read that! I was going for that feeling of reward with this one! Yeah, the weapons do **not** stack over levels, to add some extra challenge (Which I now, somewhat regret). However, if you do buy 2 weapons in a round, you can change between then using "E"! Thank you for the feedback, glad you enjoyed it!
@evgeniya-zapolnova ahh! I'm sorry to hear that! It is, indeed, a hard game, I can recognize that. My balancing wasn't the greatest this jam. I'm kinda sad I didn't remember to add an "easy mode"! But either way, thank you for the feedback and for trying it out!
@nava would be useful, wouldn't it? ;)
@lmb thank you! I was definitely off in the balance. But I'm glad no one was able to exploit my game yet, one of my biggest fears ahah :) Thank you for the feedback!
Thank you all for the feedback!
@roitchie Thank you! I actually left that in because I knew some people would make that mistake, so it provides a "ooooh, so that's what it means" moment :) Yeah, I've seen at least 3 other games that do the same, but it's alright.
@mrtnldm I agree with you, either that or a dash mechanic, but I completely forgot about those! Thank you :)
@nakami Yeah, it's a bit boring, I agree. I tried to compensate by giving a variety of weapons but still pretty meh! It was my first fighting game so I'm still not that disappointed :P
@benmcnelly @tiffi @kaleido @sylvie @lomna @baby-dino-herd @tinykidtoo thank you all for playing and for the awesome feedback! I really appreciate that :)
@orangejuicepanda Agreed 100%! I really wanted this game to be all about the dynamic between ranged and melee combat, but I guess the melee combat fell a bit short :P Thank you for playing!
@taqoshaq You could switch weapons using the letter "E"! :) And you're welcome, I know the struggle of having a cluttered desktop full of jam games ahah. Thank you for playing!
@jayometric they were all supposed to be some sort of monster, didn't really think much about it ahah. I'll let them be whatever you want them to be! ;)
@tddawson Thank you for the kind words! I've been trying to complete my games as possible as I've adopted the phylosophy of "Making a game as if you were to publish it to the public in 48 hours", so I'm glad you appreciate all of those things! :) Thank you for the feedback!
@candlesan Ah yes, I agree that the combat could've used some spice in there, but there's always room for improvement on the next jam! ;) Thank you for playing and for the feedback!
I'm not sure I knew what was going on sometimes. I had the feeling I was drawing cards and I didn't know why. But other than that, it was an interesting concept and it did make me giggle with the day introductions! Good job for a first jam! :)
I like me some classic TD games! Good job!
Probably the most polished entry I've seen so far! Good job!
Took me a while to defeat that knight, but I managed to win! Such an interest take on the theme! Never thought anyone would turn the life into actual currency, that made me giggle a bit, ahah. Good job!
Well, hello, hello, Dani, nice to see you here! :) Congratulations on your first jam! It looks awesome! There were some bugs with the buttons (which I'm guessing happened because of some configs of TMP_Pro) but the game played awesomely, although it made me hate myself everytime I died, ahah
That artwork though! Sold the game for me!
That artwork though! Sold the game for me!
I'm gonna join with the other comments. Took me a practice game to understand what was even going on. An indicator of what tile you have to move your crumbs to would have been cool (Make it a darker grey of something like that, or even explicitly write "Goal" on it). But once you understand what you're doing it's actually a really cool board game! Would love to play against a human since the AI become kinda easy after a couple of games. Might make my own DIY real life version of this
Had to turn my volume down for this one, ahah! It was fun though, and it's pretty solid, no apparent bugs, the menus weren't very responsive sometimes, however!
That was such a cool game! Everything is so well done and I like the art a lot! The map gave me an old school feel, wish I could've seen more game! Awesome job!
The art in this game is so good, I am baffled! Great job!
That was interesting! Took me a bit to realize what I was doing but it was simple enough to be fun! There was a bit of lag whenever I exited and entered the shop, and i couldn't see the highscores unfortunatelly :\ but other than that, great job!!
I wasn't able to play, unfortunatelly! I downloaded it on windows but all i got was a black screen with sound effects :\
@gargoyle-g those were my inspiration for this! It was extremely fun to make! Thank you for the kind feedback, glad you could reach the ending! :)
@iozsaygi that actually means a lot! I am very scared of showing off my music
@windmere thank you for the feedback! And I totally agree, I would've LOVED to add more stuff, but my sanity was already at -10%... who knows, maybe in the future... ;) thanks for playing!!
@fictions aww that's so nice! Thank you so much! It means a lot! :)
@phil-c glad you were able to get the max ending! I'm happy to read that because I was really looking for that relaxing vibe! Idk if I'll keep working on yet, but thank you for the feedback! :)
@symphonia thank you! I considered dropping halfway through, but then just reduced the scope a little bit, didn't get to do half of the stuff I wanted to do, unfortunatelly!
@snufkinshat thank you for playing, feedback means a lot! :)
@piturnah thank you! I was really trying to push the theme ahah, yeah, I would've loved to have more options but I'm pretty happy with the ones I got in. Glad you enjoyed it! :)
@clemonades Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for the feedback!
@pincushion glad I could pass on the feeling! Thank you for the feedback!
@ebbdrop thank you!! Happy you liked it!
@blobo thank you for playing! Glad you enjoyed it :)
@slovnoslomo ahaha yeah, thought I'd throw some food for thought in there just because :) will definitely take that advice into account for the next time I do something like this, thank you!
@kirbloid glad to know you enjoyed it! Everyone loves an all water world!
@rensei thank you, thank you! Glad you liked it :)
@merkisoft ahaha thanks! Took me a bit to think of it
@danielclarc ahaha right?? I miss those games! Thank you for the kind words, means a lot!
@moechen Thank you!! Glad you liked it! :)
@zhorky will keep the music tip in mind for next time! Thanks for playing!
@jutjuan it's actually inspired by the GROW games by EYEZMAZE, highly recommend playing those! Thank you for playing!
@superunknown thank you! Glad to read that!
@reasonable-games glad to know I reached my objective! Thank you for playing!
@benji-kershenbaum thank you, thank you!
@lombax ahaha yeah, I've seen a ton of people with the same reaction, I find it quite funny actually! Thank you for playing :)
@superlee thank you!
@frank-gevaerts glad to ready that! Thank you for playing!!
@xephrys ahaha we are a small group of people, surprisingly! Thank you for playing, glad you enjoyed it! :)
@suchista thank you! I was really excited about making it but I was dreading that it wouldn't be nearly as satisfying! Glad you liked it! :)
@itsdanidre Eheh it's a secret between me and everyone who reached the MAX ending ;) Thank you for playing!
I loved that! It was a very interesting concept! My only critique would be that the normal walking is really slow and some hit boxes are weird. Took me a while to understand how to beat the red demon type of enemy, but it was really fun!
Oh hello Dani, nice seeing you here! :D The game was very binding of isaac-ish! Loved the music! But it seems like it was maybe too big of a scope? You have a solid foundation here tho, good job!
Well, that was interesting! Sad it was short because of time constraints, would've loved to see more! Also liked the paper-like art style! :)
Yay, I managed to sink the world xD really nice how you put a little more interactivity there rather than just clicking around, stayed till the end just to see what would happen ahah
The graphics were so cute! Made it to round 10 before I died :)
That was interesting! A very relaxing and visually pleasing experience! Good job :)
The camera was a little wacky but I'm assuming that's because I played it on the browser! But it was a solid game overall for your first submission! Good job :)
I feel like I just went to a rave and remembered that I have a math assignment due the next day... and I mean that in a good way!! That was a really cool experience! Stayed for the music
A nice infinite runner! It's always good to relax. loved the graphics and music!
Nice concept! The world gen did indeed have it's flaws, but nothing that the "regen world" button didn't solve! It was definitely a fun time, good job!
Aw man, I really wanted to try this but I don't have OpenGL 4.5 unfortunatelly :/
This might just be my favourite yet! Such a simple mechanic and it gets you hooked right away. Loved it! Couldn't get more than 24 bones though
I'm glad you put the humor category back up! That was short and fun, I had a good time. Good job!
I am in love with the art style! Once I realized that the enemies weren't moving at random, that's when the game became fun! Great job
That was great especially considering the time you had to do it! And trust me, your programmer art is way better than most out there
@testuser thank you for playing! I agree, some of those things could have been better done. Maybe next time :)
@gilad-bar-ilan thank you!!
@incd021 Ah that's a shame :/ will definitely keep that in mind for future projects! Thank you for your playing!
@gingerbill Thank you! :)
@waynetron Ahah thank you! I hope someone goes there eventually :)
@judgezedd thank you! Glad you liked it!
@dunderroffe ah! Someone had to be the first! ;) thank you for playing!
@glaciereclipse I agree! I only thought of good puzzles once the jam was over ahah. Thank you for playing!
@sop-the-turtle thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! And I'm glad loop 150 didn't disappoint :)
@pincushion thank you, means a lot!
A short and fun experience! After a few failed attempts of trying to jump over everything, I also found out that you can just afk and let the long vertical block take care of everything ahah. Good job!
That got me playing for a while! Took me a bit to get a hang of the controls, but once you do it works really well! It's a nice mobile idea
That was such a cute game! Kinda sad that you *spoilers* die at the end but I had my fun nonetheless! Lovely graphics!
Good job! The last one left me thinking for a little bit, not gonna lie! It played really well and the graphics and sound were great as well.
A simple yet fun point and click! That final boss fight was pleasantly unexpected :)
These visuals were way too cute for a horror game! And still you managed to set up the mood really well. Well done!
Ooh this one came just in time for spooky season! That was intense, I really liked it! Loved the intense lighting that would let you know if a monster (stranger?) was right around the corner. Good job!
Couldn't get past 20k score but you got me to play again just to see all the upgrades! Loved the boost that gives you super speed :joy:
Good first compo! It's a nice little game. Like others have said, it gets tough very quickly, but it got me to play it over and over again!
Those graphics were absolutely adorable! What a nice experience, good job!
