Stuck in a Round by seurimas 2020-10-24T23:58:40Z
This was a lot of fun. What an innovative idea and take on the theme as well. It was fun to kind of just listen to the music. Good job on this one!

This was a lot of fun. What an innovative idea and take on the theme as well. It was fun to kind of just listen to the music. Good job on this one!
Made it to 444 beats. This game gets tough when you get those red platforms showing up. I will say that games like this one are the reason why I love game jams. What a cool concept and it definitely was fun to play. I think that this would be a very cool part of a larger game and the music was pretty cool too. Good job!
This was a fun game. I always love gravity wells for some reason so you got me there. It was fun to set up and kind of watch it go (or attempt to). For some reason it reminds me of stacking dominos and knocking them over. Great work!
This was a fun game! I managed to solve it. Took a few tries though but it did make sense when I finally put it all together. The game was very simple in scope yet felt like I was actually investigating a thing. Kind of like an escape room thing almost. The music set a good atmosphere as well. This was one of the better games in the jam. Good job!
This was a very fun game. The music was incredible. The graphics also, while simple, really made it cool. I liked that you let the player customize what color they wanted to be too. That was a nice touch. Also, it felt really menacing to have the black cloud thing start taking up the screen while the music was going. Actually got my herat pumping a bit there. Great job!
This is definitely a tough game. I couldn't get past the really tight jump where you got a little overhang stopping you from getting over to the platform that only moves a little bit. But for just 24 hours this is pretty good. I'd recommend some checkpoints or something and maybe more forgiving hit boxes. But it was a solidly built game. Good job!
Cool game although it was a little difficult to play. However, I still was able to get through about 2 rounds. It was a little tough because the towers would try to shoot through the walls at the heroes and there wasn't enough starting cash to build up a good defense. I think had you maybe included a practice round or different difficulty settings that would help it be more accessible (sorry if you did that and I missed it). However, the graphics were fun and the music while repetitive had a good theme to it. Good job and keep it up. Excited to see where you can take this with a few tweaks!
This was a cool little game. The graphics are very well done. I like that you had multiple background layers that gave the world a sense of depth. Also your lighting/shadows looked really cool as well. It was tough pushing the rock up the mountain and eventually one of those pterodactyls got me. But all in all this was really cool and fun. Good job!
This was a good entry. The dialogue was cool and I liked the music too. I think the little animation for the guy was pretty well done too. It definitely looked like what it was supposed to look like so good job there. An interesting movement mechanic as well. I did have trouble reading the clock to figure out what time it was though. All in all good job on this!
This was a fun and relaxing game. I think this could totally be a cool game people would pay for if it had some more levels. I didn't even really care about the stars it was just kind of fun to watch the rollies go about. It had just the right amount of user interaction. Super fun. Good job!
What a cool little idea to make a game in C64! It definitely started lagging for me for some reason but that did make it easier to manage the trollies. I didn't realize you had to hold down to get the trolley to change direction at first but I did figure it out. Challenging game as well and definitely feels like a new C64 game came out. Good job!
This was a fun game and it took me a moment to get the take on the theme but once I did I knew it was definitely well done! This was fun and the graphics were quite good for something made in the Compo. I think the controls were just a little unresponsive though and I couldn't turn as quickly as I would've liked but it never felt unfair. All in all, great job!
This one was great. I really enjoyed playing it. What an interesting take on the theme and definitely a unique design unlike any of the other ones I've played. I like how if the threat level gets really high that you kind of get another chance by them looping around you. I think this mechanic could be quite addicting. Good job!
I enjoyed playing this one. I can tell a lot of work went into getting it all set up. I liked how you had the shadows set up and all that. I think with multiple players it'll definitely be a good party game. The shadow work was set up and when you blow up a car I liked the little effect of it being on fire. All in all great job!
This was a fun game. I really liked playing it. I got up to about 2700 points so I feel like I did okay. I kept trying to catch up to the other side of the wall. I think that'd be cool if there was some ending if you did that. The graphics were very well done for how simple they were, it got the point across pretty well and overall was a great game. Good job keep it up!
Cool little game. Very satisfying to build up speed and bounce around. Tough to get it as high as you can but that adds a good challenge. All in all good job on this one!
This one was really great. I liked the little puzzles and stuff and the narrator. It was a really fun game and the last puzzle did require some thinking. I really had to kind of sit down for a moment there but I did figure it out. Great job on this one!
P.S. Also I had to go check out 150. Made me laugh out loud for real.
This was a cool game and real innovative take on the theme. I had never ever considered a gameplay mechanic like this before. What a good job here. I also LOL'ed at the premise. Keep up the good work on this stuff!
Not a bad little game here. I enjoyed it quite a bit. It was definitely difficult though, but I did get the hang of it after a few tries. The sound design was actually really good too. I enjoyed this one thoroughly. Good job!
What an interesting concept. I don't think I've ever seen a game quite like this one before. I thought a lot of the symbols were pretty funny (avocados + aliens haha). All in all I think this game would benefit from a short tutorial I do appreciate you leaving a detailed comment here with some more explanation but I think seeing the game on a small scale with 3-4 profiles at first may make it easier for the player to understand what is going on before throwing them into the big thing. However, I get that this is a game jam but I think with a little more work on the tutorial aspect you could have something really amazing here. Good job!
This was a cool game I really enjoyed it! Graphics were absolutely outstanding. I definitely felt bad killing the little alien dudes but they attacked me first! It definitely ramps up the difficulty at a steady pace. I made it to Level 6. Also the music was pretty well done and set a nice tone for the game. Great job!
This was a cool entry. A hilarious take on the theme and honestly it was pretty fun to play. Once you get into a rhythm bouncing around it can be quite fun. Very difficult later on as well though, the slippery ice forces you to use the bouncing mechanic but the game does a good job of easing you into it. Good game design here, keep it up!
This game was really fun. Great platformer that had tight controls. I like how it was kind of a puzzle + platformer at the same time. I hope you continue this game because it said that there was deeper to go and I was actually hoping for more gameplay that I enjoyed it that much.
All in all great job! Super fun game!
Pretty good game. Very challenging though. I got like 500 points on my first try then struggled to get beyond 40. Tough to get enough height on the jumps to make it over the stuff. But the game had all the right components of a game and super good graphics in my opinion. I think with a little fine-tuning this could be something I'd play a lot more of! Good job!
This was a cool little game that I enjoyed. I was able to get up to 10,000. It was just kind of relaxing too. The only thing that made it tough was that you use the mouse to move but it still felt like you were "locked" into particular positions. I couldn't make quick large motions once it got too fast. Other than that this was a cool game. Good job! Keep it up!
Very interesting idea for a game and I like that the satellites say funny things. This is kind of like just a game where you chill out and let the game take its course. The graphics were pretty well done too. Lots of cool satellite designs. Good job!
I really liked this one a lot. While the sound effects got a little annoying I did eventually warm back up to them when it got to the fight part. Such an innovative and interesting take on the "stuck on a loop" theme too. I played to the end because it was pretty fun and I kind of got into the story too. Also the drawings were very well done and felt cute. Great job on this one!
This was a super chill game. I thought it was pretty fun. Some collision issues with the edges but that wasn't a big deal. Great job!
Pretty cool game. Level design was neat. Very difficult though. I couldn't get the door to open whenever it reset me after 27 seconds but it definitely kept me engaged and had a well put together world/story. Good job!
This was a fun game. I like how it looped in a non-standard way but it felt seamless. Nowhere did it feel like there was a "jump" or anything. You stuck to the theme very well too. I did eventually find the whole but I definitely had to think about where I had been and where I hadn't been though. This was a good job. Thanks for making it!
This was kinda fun. 63rd place (for now)! I think to improve it would be nice if you weren't a sitting duck when rounding the corners but you definitely fit the theme very well. It definitely felt satisfying to hit the enemies with the boxes. Also the ending was pretty cool. Nice to see my enemies celebrating so heartily! Good job!
This game was okay. But it was very difficult to be able to brew beer. I'd recommend having a simple starter recipe so that players can start doing the seller aspect sooner. Otherwise it is just a grind, but I suppose it does help with the "stuck in a loop" theme. This is a good idea and I haven't yet seen something that felt more like a board game in this jam. So good job on that, just a few tweaks and I think you'll have something good here. Also the "hungover" sound effect made me laugh.
I tried to click on the itch link and it gives a "page not found" message. I think you provided the link to the "edit" page. Is this the correct game here? https://faylee.itch.io/ld47/
Okay I tried the game and it was very difficult to understand. I think it would've been helpful if you had let it sit for a second after you fail or prompt for a retry. This is because I didn't have enough time to inspect the board after I would fail to see what I had done. However, this is a good concept and pretty fun. Just takes some learning how it works on my part. I hope you continue to build more fun games!
This was a very fun game. The exact kind of game here is my jam. I love those gravity well games. Reminded me of the old Windows 95 Encyclopedia game where you could play with gravity wells. Really fun and charming game. Good job!
This was kind of a crazy game. I made it as far Prime Slime Time and it was challenging but it didn't feel totally unfair. I think this game showed great level design and I really enjoyed it for that reason. I hope you keep it up. Good job!
Cool game! I really enjoyed playing this game. It fit the theme will and everything. I did get stuck (I think?) because I tried to use the gun on the Lvl2 block and it killed me and I had no way to get up high again. But all in all this was a cool idea and a great take on the looping concept. Great job, especially for a first project. I hope you keep it up!
This was a good game. I think it was confusing for how to pick up passengers and drop them off though. The only context was that the top right message would change. I think to improve it would also help to add in an indicator that the specific drop-off point is the right one. However, I was very impressed with the little world you built and the variable weather effects. I also had fun falling down the infinite pit when I drove the cab off the East bridge. Good job on this. Keep it up!
This was a fun little game. The music was pretty good and it was very simple and had a decent story. The artwork was pretty cool too. Theme was well executed too. I'd love to see what this would be like if it was a more fleshed out product. I think you have a great idea here! Keep up the good work!
This was a funny game. I always love games with a story and an ending. Tough to do in a game jam time frame. All in all this was great work and I was glad to help Roo....errr.Vacuumba(tm) fly! Great work!
Good job on the graphics and the music track you had was pretty cool too! It was difficult to kill the hourglasses but it wasn't too hard once I got the hang of it. Interesting take on the loop mechanic too. I like that you had to build up your time as your went through. Forcing the loop to get longer and longer until you made it. All in all good job!
This was a fun game. I managed to get 294. The game gets super hard. I'll have to give it some more tries later on. I kind of like the way the guy on the rope would rotate a little bit and how there was a bit of a lag. Gave it a rope feeling.
Music was well done too. All in all this was a fun game. Good job!
@evileptic Thanks for playing! Glad it wasn't so hard that people couldn't get to the end. I worried about the puzzles having enough clues.
@zackavelli Thanks for playing! Glad you thought the graphics were okay. I am not an artist but was able to whip together something basic for the jam. Thanks again!
@fronwewq the clock represents how many iterations you have gone through. The position on the clock may have something to do with what key you need. Thanks a bunch for trying it out!
@zacharieg Thanks for playing! I agree on the graphical improvements are necessary. I hope I can figure out some place to take this game post-jam.
@burnedkirby The buttons are your standard hit them in the right order puzzle. I definitely needed to include some context markers to let the player know if they did it in the right order or not. I also had trouble coming up with a way to provide the solution in a clue. I will probably include that in an update once the rating period for LD47 is over. Also thanks for finding out works on Wine in Linux. I don't have Linux myself so wasn't able to test that out. I appreciate it! Thank you so much for playing it!
@dmitry-mozgin Thank you so much for playing my game! Silliness and asburdity were kind of what I was going for so I really appreciate that feedback :D
@sacredbacon Thanks for playing! I am just glad that the code was readable enough to be able to figure out the solution. I always worry about how clean the code is.
@judgezedd Thanks so much for playing! Glad you liked it. I always try to have an ending for game jam games so the player can have a sense of completion.
@rgilpt Thanks for playing! I really need to learn more about how to compose better music. Mostly why I left audio out of this one. I've tried with some other games in the past and let's just say that I have a lot of room to improve there. Thanks again!
@gilborn definitely gonna add some clues to the button puzzle once the rating period is over! Thanks for playing!
@eugenik Thanks for playing, glad you like the simple graphics!
@phillserrazina Thanks so much, also glad you like the graphics!
@island-jam-2-group-3 and @ukulelefury Thanks for much for playing despite the puzzle being tough. When the rating period is over I'm definitely gonna update to include a better clue or at least some context to let you know if you got it wrong. Thanks so much for the feedback!
Thanks @kekkodude I used PyxelEdit to create all the sprites for this game. It is a really easy to use tool for me. I think the sprite is off center because I couldn't get it to work quite right for the Sprite Renderer's FlipX in Unity and have it satisfy both sides. Where Unity put the center wasn't quite right. I would've played around with it more to get it just right but I'll try to do an update where I take care of music and sound effects as well. Just need to do some more research on how to do it properly. Thanks again for playing!
@fingamer Thanks for playing I appreciate it. Going to try to figure out how to produce quality sound/music and update the game down the road here once LD47 rating period is over. Hoping to continue to improve after this!
This game was pretty fun. However, I did have some trouble figuring out how to throw the eggs effectively but with some practice I got it. I think if the movement speed was a bit faster or had a "hold to run" button it'd be a lot easier to play. But this was a cool idea and I am glad you got it done! Good job!
This was really fun. I definitely started getting a little dizzy after a while but it was a solid relaxing game. I will say that the part where you have the tons of red spikes. That was definitely a "just one more try" for about a million tries location. Great job!
Not a bad game. The musical loop did get a little annoying after a while but I did like how cool the animals looked. I think with some modest improvements this could be a pretty good game. Great job on the atmosphere as well and good job on finishing this game!
This was a fun game. It definitely was difficult to figure out sometimes. I think once I got to the second clone it was harder to figure out how to use them effectively. But that is the way a puzzle game is supposed to be. All in all good job!
Wow! What a fun game. I am super surprised that you were able to innovate on the Match-3 idea. It seems like that has already been done to death but you found a cool way to make it fun and interesting. The graphics were also really cool too. While simple, they did the job and I knew what everything was supposed to be. The music also wasn't annoying which was pretty cool too. Especially considering how frequently it looped, it fit the "thinking" style of the game quite well in my opinion. Great job here!
