Simple and fun! My only complaint is that the sound is a bit high pitched and loud. Well done.

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-05 00:55

@untitled-studios I opted out from the audio category because the sounds are just placeholders, but even then they are helping to inform a player about events in the game, so I’ve left them. And thank you for playing! Btw, your game is great. I like the overall execution and that you’ve used GameMaker.

untitled-studios 2020-10-05 00:57

@dmitry-mozgin thanks for playing, your game is great fun. Just hits that hypercasual sweet spot.

blotosaur 2020-10-05 03:01

I liked the visuals, even though simple. Kinda difficult to maneuver with the keyboard when you can move twice the initial distance. Couldn't test with a controller, but it would be smoother, I think. Great entry!

doomerismo 2020-10-05 04:07

Highlights for the low poly graphics. The mechanics are pretty interesting too. Sometimes is hard to know if the ship is in course of picking the gem and the ship suddenly started to stray further from the orbit without a feedback saying i could do that.

diego-escalante 2020-10-05 05:22

This is pretty dang good. The game mechanic is intuitive and fun. It also plays really well. I do wonder if some people might get motion sickness from all the spinning. (I myself didn't, just wondering.) The part where there's huge ton of red spikes everywhere was really though. Couldn't quite make it through that but I had fun playing the game!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-05 05:58

Thank you for playing my game!

@blotosaur You’re right, playing with a gamepad is much smoother though I playtested it with a keyboard.

@doomerismo I was experimenting with different set of mechanics for different orbits to find what is fun in the game. That is why the mechanics are slightly changing throughout the game and at the last levels the player can move further the gem. I thought it could be interesting to give a player more choice, but it sometimes is confusing.

@diego-escalante The level with a lot of spikes is my favourite because even though I know how to finish it I always struggle with it. That is why it gives me strong emotions. I thought other players may like that too.

Concerning motion sickness you’re right, I had this thought too! Too many circle motions, is it bad or not? It seems work fine for now.

anomay 2020-10-05 14:18

I get a little motion sickness too:)

Flying on Planetary orbit is fantastic, maybe bigger space and planet could be more cool

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-05 14:28

@anomay thank you for your note it is really helpful!

clemonades 2020-10-05 19:25

ohhh man spinning in 3d. I really like the low poly art and the concept fits great, just get a little queasiness while playing. Great job!

cookienoir 2020-10-06 12:31

Great work. Enjoyed a lot :)

jk5000 2020-10-06 18:04

A super simple and fun game idea. I really like the visuals, and gameplay is fun to play. The game really needs some music. Overall is this a good and well made combo game. Well done.

sop-the-turtle 2020-10-07 00:36

This was really fun. I definitely started getting a little dizzy after a while but it was a solid relaxing game. I will say that the part where you have the tons of red spikes. That was definitely a "just one more try" for about a million tries location. Great job!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-07 07:55

@sop-the-turtle thank you for playing! I wish I knew when I had come out with the idea of the game that players will get dizziness when playing. But I'm glad that I've participated in a game jam. Now I know how valuable playtests and players feedback.

thewinrawr 2020-10-08 03:36

Simple but a fun game! The visuals are charming and collecting the gems was a fun challenge. I think the difficult ramps up too quickly though - it starts off really easy with the green gems, then gets slightly harder when the first red spike shows up. Then it gets insanely difficult immediately when you jump to that one hoop with a billion spikes. I still had a great time with it though. Nice job!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-08 05:00

@thewinrawr Thank you for your detailed feedback it is very valuable to me! I hadn’t much playtests during development and only near to the end of the jam I realised that spikes are the most fun in the game, so I decided to make more levels with them and make the last one memorable. I know that some players might find it difficult, but some might like, so I tried to please both. If someone struggles to beat the last level is not a big deal because you can quit the game and have already complete taste of the game. Again, thank you for playing I’il try to check your game next and say what I think.

eduardo-yukio 2020-10-08 07:23

For a first jam, this is impressive!

The graphics are excellent. I really liked the effect when I'm accelerating, it's a really nice detail.

But I had a lot of problems with the camera: I couldn't quite understand where some obstacles and diamonds were and to what direction should I go. I took many diamonds only through trial and error. Later on in the game it starts to get frustrating, because I died and I didn't even understand why. Maybe if it was more zoomed out or perhaps centered on the player, it could be less confusing.

But overall, it's a solid and fun game, great entry!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-08 07:39

@eduardo-yukio thank for your feedback! You've just described the situation I observed when I watched how my mom played the game. For some people the game is easy, but some people trying to project themself on a spaceship and they don't understand how to play. It looks like it is your case and I understand your concern. The game could be more intuitive. Thank you for playing and I'll try to check you game next! (I like to check people who commented on my game first it feels fair)

elpadlos 2020-10-08 11:22

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-08 11:34

curly 2020-10-08 13:40

Nice theme, great atmosphere, impossible to find fault with, good jam game, thanks for the experience, good luck!

c1tr00z 2020-10-08 14:06

obi-one 2020-10-08 14:14

Chilling game! And potentially enhanceable! The game is clear and not overloaded by details - it's cool!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-08 14:20

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-08 14:39

@obi-one thank you for playing! There is a challenging level at the end of the game, so it is not completely chilling because I wanted to please also hardcore gamers. I'll try to play your game soon too!

froggimarc 2020-10-08 18:03

Cool idea and well executed. :) Nice job!

iron-leonem 2020-10-09 05:44

So I loved the idea, and you really delivered an interesting game in the time period, well done! That being said, your sound effects were quite literally painfully loud- please be aware of your players' needs when designing your game. The only other comment I have is that the close follow camera made me a little seasick. Loved the minimalist aesthetic, and I definitely think you're on to something here. Can't wait to see more!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-09 07:30

@iron-leonem Thank you for you honest feedback!

When I followed the idea of the game I didn’t know that it could cause so much real dizziness to players. I’m feel very bad that it hurts the experience. It’s definitely my mistake that I didn’t realize the problem soon. I've just added a little warning note to the description of the game.

Concerning sounds, you’re right I thought if I opted out from audio category it will work (and players will turn off speakers if they don't like sounds), but now I see how this thought is silly.

I’m glad that you played the game and found something that you like. I’ll try your game too and say my thoughts!

roy 2020-10-09 15:03

when I play the game, I feel quite calm. I think some quiet BGM will make the game a much better experience

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-09 16:23

@roy thank you for playing! You're right with music will be much better, but I didn't have much time to make it. It is sad. I'll try to check your game too!

cogcomp 2020-10-11 16:45

Got a bit dizzy after a while and had to take a break. I agree that it lacks some kind of musical score or less intense sound effects but it's still a very nice and well executed idea! Well done!

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-12 12:11

@cogcomp Thank you for playing! You’re feedback is very accurate. Next time, I’ll try my best to create more complete and enjoyable game experience. I’ll try your game too!

leora 2020-10-12 18:05

Simple idea, well implemented. I totally love the space theme

spawncampgames 2020-10-13 06:07

Fun little game. Sometime it was hard to tell what plane of existence a pickup was on.. I had to make multiple loops just guessing sometime until i picked it up.. Good game tho over all.

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-13 11:46

@leora @spawncampgames thank you for playing the game and leaving a comment! I'll check your games too

masonmasonoff 2020-10-13 17:41

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-13 20:24

ghuyajil 2020-10-14 19:29

Nice little game, too bad there was no music... and hard to see where exactly the pickups were indeed. Good entry, especially for your first jam!

animaster 2020-10-14 22:06

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-15 09:37

@ghuyajil thank you that you decided to play my game! I already saw a glimpse of the description of your game and I'm eager to try it too.

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-15 09:54

jarnero 2020-10-18 21:54

dmitry-mozgin 2020-10-19 09:39
