LD40 — The more you have, the worse it is

WizCorp by Dylan Wolf 2017-12-23T15:35:04Z

My only complaint was that there wasn't more! I played until I maxed everything out and found that there was nothing left to do. Very satisfying to upgrade storage and watch the numbers ramp up. The art and little guys were very well done, but it would have been nice to have more contrast between the guys and the ground.

Ominos by differentname 2017-12-04T03:35:23Z

I had a lot of fun playing this game! My only complaint would be that there is no animation for a line clear. I know that its not completely necessary, but it would have helped a lot when I was first figuring out how to play.

The more gold is lying around, the harder it is to move! by danvil 2017-12-23T22:01:38Z

Love the art style, fun mechanics! Could use a tutorial or at least a more in-depth explanation, though. I was a bit confused in the beginning.

Drag n Hoard by Spiffy 2017-12-23T15:21:09Z

Loved the game! Innovative mechanics and tight controls made for a fun experience. The spike collision could be a bit buggy at times though.

Blob Hell by ryuzaki_mrl 2017-12-04T03:10:14Z

Loved the game! It could do with a quick restart button though (to let you jump right back into the action after you die).

Blob Hell by ryuzaki_mrl 2017-12-04T03:21:11Z

Hmmm... I suppose that it would be a new feature.

Penti by DogSquad 2017-12-23T19:37:46Z

Great fun! I feel that it would have done better without a timer but instead with a health bar.

HexaTurret by Jerry123i 2017-12-23T15:11:16Z

Very confusing controls, but past that, a great game!

LD42 — Running out of space

3x3 a tale about friendship by oskarOlausson 2018-08-16T15:01:42Z

Super fun and well-polished! My type of game.

Return to Garbage World by mrjorts 2018-08-14T13:22:49Z

This game is a blast! It was just the right amount of hard (maybe leaning too much on the hard side), and as others have said, it takes a bit to orient yourself. Lovely art and music.

The Vacuum by DragonSlayer03 2018-08-12T23:10:02Z

Your links don't seem to work :(

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-13T13:36:59Z

@serious07 Thanks for the advice! The bit about the directional indicator really should have been a no-brainer. Plus, your game is really cool!

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-13T17:20:41Z

@albin Thanks! I tried out your game and its a whole lot of fun! :)

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-13T17:25:37Z

@jakub-kazimierski Thanks for taking the time to drop a rating! Your game looks really cool! (I love the gameboy look)

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-14T13:17:59Z

@mrjorts Thanks for your feedback! I tried to design the game so that environmental hazards were more effective against enemies than your boost, but I think those are still underpowered. Also, I believe changing the sound mix is within the rules of the compo, so i might just do that. I just gave your game a play-through and it looks really awesome!

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-16T14:39:16Z

@coomzy Thanks for rating! I played and really enjoyed your game.

Planetoid by Untitled Studios 2018-08-17T12:00:11Z

@suchista Thanks! I tried out your game and it was really a blast. could you let me know what specific sound effects were bothering you?

Purple Void by mochakingup 2018-08-13T17:36:12Z

This looks (and plays) like a profesionally made game.

Collector by Serious07 2018-08-13T13:39:41Z

Really cool concept! I think the walls could just unfold faster instead of requiring you to hold the restart button.

Climb by Albin 2018-08-13T17:19:02Z

The art for this game is amazing! The gameplay is a bit minimalistic, but fun. If I had one complaint it would be that the camera does not quite frame the gameplay well.

Armageddon by Swess 2018-08-15T15:10:01Z

This is probably my favorite LD42 game if not my favorite jam game of all time. The mechanics are fun, the pace is intense, the graphics are unique, and if you start to give up, man that music just keeps pushing you forward. This game is truly incredible and you should be proud of your achievement. If this game doesn't make top ten in fun or audio i'll be disappointed with the Ludum Dare system. Take my 5/5's good sir.

p.s. my only complaints are that the main menu doesn't quite make it to the standard set by the rest of the graphics and it would be nice if you regenerated hp.

Pathcloser by Suchista 2018-08-17T11:58:26Z

Great game, especially for your first ld! Could use a rewind mechanic though.

Break The Board by BrettSchiff 2018-08-12T23:38:50Z

This is a really fun, challenging, and innovative puzzle game. However, two problems I encountered while playing were 1. It felt a bit too random. It could use something like the little box in tetris that shows you what piece you are getting next. And 2. The piece dragging seemed a bit laggy? I dont know if this is just my computer though. Overall, this was a great experience.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Documentia by Pandanym 2018-12-18T23:02:59Z

WOW! This was amazing! (:

Coinman by Untitled Studios 2018-12-03T21:56:08Z

@justcamh Thanks for the comment! I just changed the game page so that the tidbit about the chests is more visible. Your game looks awesome! I can't wait to try it out.

Coinman by Untitled Studios 2018-12-06T23:45:26Z

@paulhocker thank you! (:

Coinman by Untitled Studios 2018-12-07T03:40:47Z

@yirggzmb oops, button is f. I’ll throw it into the controls section of the description.

Coinman by Untitled Studios 2018-12-07T03:45:06Z

@wizard-exe I’m glad you enjoyed it! I hoped to have made the later enemies make the coins more useful- e.g. red slimes/ghosts, pop ups because you can distract them or stun them for a second, however, based on the comments I see that didn’t work. Thanks for playing!

Cat-Astrophe by LaneDavis 2018-12-07T00:19:39Z

A blast from start to finish (: I couldn't beat the game in the end because the "restart level" button didn't work and I was crushed in a pile of my own bodies. Can't wait to see you in the top 10 for overall!

MiMi by ZozeR 2018-12-20T14:39:02Z

Super cool concept, but I found myself confused a lot. I had a ton of fun with it anyways though (:

SmallCult by AlexKishchinskiy 2018-12-06T23:59:08Z

Super fun! Art is BEAUTIFUL! Unfortunately a small amount of events and a couple typos and bugs hold it back.

LD44 — Your life is currency

Mr. Bank's Journey by Sheepolution 2019-04-29T23:18:55Z

I really love this game! The idea is so clever and you really built upon it well. I really love that tense moment when you break open the piggy bank and see how much money you got. I haven't finished it yet, but I intend to! My only complaints are that it's a bit lacking as far as sound goes, and although each individual piece of art works well on its own, I don't feel like they mesh together perfectly. Overall, super well done! You should be very proud of yourself (:

Energy Tanks by Ogniok 2019-04-29T22:57:54Z

This is great (: The art and music are amazing, and the game has a ton of "feel" to it. The combat has a ton of potential, but without the ability to find good vantage points to shoot from or dodge bullets, it lacks some depth. It is still really fun though, and it really is amazing that you made this in the time alloted!

Brave Swordsman by falak 2019-05-04T14:12:06Z

I really like this! It has really fun fighting mechanics, although I wish the player was a bit faster.

The Tenth Item in G4 by Daniel Alhadeff 2019-05-07T22:52:37Z

I am confused, but amused.

Escape from the Mint by clue 2019-05-12T20:32:24Z

With the help of amazing art, boppin tunes, an ingenious idea, and brilliant design, this is easily one of my favorite games this jam! Keep up the good work (:

p.s. I just finished the game, and my only complaint is I wish there was more. Amazing job!

Escape from the Mint by clue 2022-11-04T20:35:53Z

Hey! I played this game a few years back, and it popped into my head out of nowhere a few days ago. It was super innovative and it was a hell of a fun time. I hope y'all are still making games!!

BioTech Inc. by Paulo Brunassi 2019-05-15T21:43:45Z

Great job! This game has thick atmosphere, nice art, and a fun core loop. Unfortunately, it was a bit to easy and got a bit stale after a little while. On the whole, very polished and nice job!

Last Stand by KeyurRana 2019-05-12T11:44:57Z

Super fun, "juicy", and very interesting idea! My one suggestion would be to have an indicator of where enemies will spawn the turn before they do. Great job!

Impact! by JoshAnthony1990 2019-05-06T23:10:03Z

Cool idea and I like the expansiveness of the world, but i'm not sure where the decision making comes in. It just feels like I do things and then something happens- not like I really made a choice.

Goblette by Nathaniel Jensen 2019-05-04T20:26:27Z

Great game! It seemed fairly barebones mechanic-wise, but some brilliant level design that explored everything macing rats could be takes it up to a whole other... level. (The art and sound are good too)

Bloodia by Sebastien Bourgeois 2019-05-04T20:13:14Z

This game is great! I really love the art and music. Unfortunately, the gameplay is a bit slow. I wish everything in the game was about 2x faster.

Kill The Money by Copper_Aardvark_Games 2019-05-04T14:26:40Z

This game is amazing! I cannot believe that it is a compo game, it has so much stuff in it! The only real problem I had with the game was the difficulty. There were no enemies that forced me to navigate around the level or barely avoid an attack.

KNIFE=LIFE by QuadApe 2019-05-06T01:15:50Z

Super fun! This game has a tun of juice and I love every mechanic in it. The character sprite just looks gorgeous, and I can't even imagine how good the game would look if every sprite had the same amount of polish as the character/knives. Overall one of the best games I've played all jam.

Stick Dungeon by EnovyT 2019-05-07T00:38:07Z

For the first couple minutes, I was frustrated at this game. It has so-so art, mediocre controls, and is far from polished, but after a couple of minutes something just clicked. I realized the importance of managing the 3 different health bars and which enemies to down first before fighting others. It took me a bit, but I really found a ton of fun hiding in this unassuming little game. Great job!

This game is great!!! It has that special sauce I love.

Ludum Lux by Joe Miller 2019-10-10T01:46:18Z

Great fun! Surprisingly tight puzzle design for a jam game. (Boppin' tunes as well)

LooPatHero by Finlal 2019-10-27T02:20:24Z

Incredibly fun!!!! I loved every second of playing it -- great art, great music, everything!

Start with Nothing, End with Nothing. by Ongomato 2019-10-23T00:02:43Z

Nice! Consistently generates fun brainteasers-- has great game feel

Unfinished: The Game by jondalnas 2019-10-21T22:45:24Z

Actually quite fun! I made it all the way to the end. It is definitely unfinished, but it was interesting unfinished, not boring unfinished. Learning the quirky brokenness of it was part of the fun. Nice job!

Bob the Brawler by itsdanidre 2019-10-23T01:13:27Z

Fun as heck my guy! Nice work!!

Angry Words by Madbeagle 2019-10-27T15:55:30Z

Amazingly creative! The gameplay wasn't extremely revolutionary, but I **love** how the story is revealed through the words in each level. Music was good, too!

Shuǐmòhuà by olddadou 2019-10-21T22:31:02Z

cool! very relaxing to play around with.

Nothing but naked by LoneWolfDev 2019-10-23T00:28:01Z

Amazing game!! Music is a bop and the art is g l o r i o u s. I wish you didn't go back to the very beginning every time you got caught, but that might just be because i'm bad.

TwoFiveFive by mediyaz 2019-10-24T02:00:10Z

Nice! And weird. Very, very polished, and fun!

Cutey Berry by sylvie 2019-10-17T00:48:53Z

This game is GREAT!!! It absolutely reeks of charm and polish. The art, music, and gameplay all work together to make a truly special experience. I especially liked the last song (:

ONE PIX by essarrgee 2019-10-08T00:57:19Z

Incredibly creative concept! I loved shooting pixels at those poor little penguins. Is there a way to make the game fullscreen?

Boltless by SometimesGhost 2019-10-08T00:47:08Z

Hungry Monster by JOrbits 2020-04-22T19:56:58Z

Wow! I would love to see what another day of development would do to this game! (: It has such a natural comedy to it's mechanics that kept a smile on my face the whole time. Please, please keep developing this.

Exterminators by Zachary Shah 2020-04-28T13:22:22Z

Tricky and fun! The primary mechanics are solid, and the graphics are super polished. I agree that better feedback for some actions would be great.

Look After Larry by Untitled Studios 2020-04-23T12:40:07Z

@horbee i actually ended up making it in 24 hours lmao - I wasted the entire first day working on a failed prototype about keeping an ai on a spaceship alive. Thanks for the rating!

@etdofresh i am so honored that you took the time to finish my game (: tysm for playing!

@kazz96 @alex-karev thanks! I’m quite proud of the sound effects, to be honest. I had great fun making them haha

@saviqq thank you so much for the rating! I’m currently working on a post-jam version of with bonus coins, connectors, electricity, and a whole bunch ton of levels.

@jk5000 i appreciate the rating and honest suggestion! I’ve gotten similar feedback when play testing the game with family, especially about the “big suck” and “fish sticks” levels. I’m trying to smooth out those level design issues in the post-jam version, but we’ll see

@topbraj Glad you enjoyed the sound, at least! (:

@m8rix thanks! I’ll be sure to put in a tutorial in the post-jam version (:

@mehrdadsh @deadwormy @jonathanjoseph thanks!!

@n-o-games (:

Keep Coron Alive by Qux 2020-04-20T20:32:46Z

Simple, but well put together and fun! There was a suprising amount of strategy to picking attacks and timing them properly.

Gate Crash by Ranjan 2020-04-30T18:25:10Z

Wildly innovative, but a bit frustrating when I walked over a slot and dropped off a gate that I really needed somewhere else. It would also be helpful if the names of the gates were written on them for when you are just starting out, but they're not really needed once you get familiar with the types. I do think it'd be nice if the gates affected the shooting somehow - right now while playing it kinda feels like playing two unrelated games that really only tangentially affect each other. Nonetheless, I still thoroughly enjoyed this game and you have done a great job with it. (:

Don't touch the goblins! by Horbee 2020-04-22T19:47:11Z

Basically a tech demo of the cool lighting - and it works very well as that. Fighting the goblins is fun too, though!

Star Keeper (Ludum Dare 46) by Cobear25 2020-04-28T14:18:43Z

Fun! Looks good, sounds good, I like how most every mechanic has several uses.

Fire my guitar up by Alexey Kuzovkov 2020-04-20T13:18:29Z

The game is at it's most fun when you're delving deep into the woods, with eerie music playing, darkness all around, nervously watching the amount of time you have left to replenish the fire. However, I barely found myself reaching that point at like 5 minutes into the game. It made it more frustrating to die, because I knew I needed to play through the first 5m again to get back to the good stuff. Overall, though solid entry with great art, music, and atmosphere.

Rolly and the Flower by Rolly 2020-04-20T14:44:17Z

Wow. Beautiful, fun, simple, innovative, the kind of game that really makes you think 'why didn't I make this'??. It had me captivated the whole time, and the ending cutscene was adorable. Sounds and looks amazing - 5/5, give yourself a pat on the back.

Vine and Void by JUSTCAMH 2020-04-28T13:32:51Z

Amazing, creative, beautiful, innovative, fun. Audio is beautiful, glorious. Relaxing but can still be challenging! 5/5

Snip Snap by Quackqack 2020-04-20T13:07:27Z

Great game. Pretty simple (but unique) idea implemented and polished very well. The art is really pretty, and the music is good as well. Good job!

Fish Flop by OgelGames 2020-04-20T15:48:14Z

Fun and challenging! Gave me getting over it vibes in the best way. Maybe a little too hard for me though - I couldn't beat it :(

Save the Spacemen by Meemog 2020-04-20T13:39:39Z

Fun and challenging! I really liked this entry, and spent quite some time playing it. As others have said, the movement is sometimes quite finicky, and I think that the level design could use some work in places. Otherwise, great job!

Graphics and music were great! The game as a whole reminded me a lot of mario vs donkey kong. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Star Buffs by MAJK_FL 2020-04-22T14:42:02Z

Fun, snappy, and quick! Very polished and fun, although it could use a little bit more love as far as sound goes. The mechanics took a second to figure out, but once I did they were pretty intuitive.

Jelly Rescue by DeadWormy 2020-04-20T14:04:00Z

Wonderfully unique idea! However, I found it hard to progress in the game as I kept getting stuck places without the level restarting.

Keep Heart Beat by zilulu 2020-04-20T14:25:27Z

Fun, feels almost zenlike to play - super simple concept polished almost to perfection!

No Time to EGGsplain by NyanYann 2020-04-20T17:01:23Z

Good, original, and beautiful. Wonderfully executed, as well. Good job!

The Adventure of Mr. Bubbles by DreadedDruidStudios 2020-04-21T01:42:23Z

I seem to be encountering the same problem as SpaceWizardJ. Although I do find it funny that we have both made compo games in gms2 about goldfish

Garden Mayhem by MajinBuuBop 2020-04-27T16:05:10Z

Good idea, but it sorta falls down in execution. The controls are very disorienting and unnecessarily complicated, and actions often felt like they weren't working when they should. Overall, pretty solid but could use some work.

Save the torch! by eduardogacn 2020-04-29T01:07:08Z

Tricky with a nice mood. If I were to improve some things, the two top choices would be to stop the music from looping over when going to the next room and also not booting you back to the beginning upon death. Still a solid entry, though!

Beat-o-matic by greizgh 2020-05-04T17:22:49Z

Hard as hell! Fun and simple concept, and executed pretty good.

Chance by uberardy 2020-04-21T14:34:27Z

Truly astonishing. The art is glorious and the story was touching. The sheer amount of content in the game blew me away. Great job!

Fun! I actually really like the weird getting stuck on a rollercoaster for generations idea. Feels like it could be a cool weird premise for a more story-focused game.

@eriku Thank you so so much for playing the game to the end! I am so honored. If I'm being totally honest, I threw in the last 2 levels near the end of the jam because I had developed the keys and blue buttons but had yet to put them in a level. Thanks again for taking the time to play my game. :D

Blueprints by David Hunter 2020-10-04T23:55:51Z

I like this game more than I think I have any right to. When you die, you're booted back to the start menu. The movement is somehow both too floaty and too fast, and the controls are a bit confusing. However, somehow, all these elements come together into a pretty darn enjoyable final product. I always like games where learning the workings of the game is half the fun, and this is one of those games. I also really quite like the art direction.

Loopback by Dj Depressive 2020-10-07T18:37:23Z

Really liked the art and ideas. Like others have said, could REALLY benefit from some juice, feedback, and tutorialisation (maybe multiple levels, each soldier introduced one at a time?). Might have gone a bit too ambitious on this one.

More of a musician/artist than programmer I see, haha! Nonetheless, it always makes me happy to see someone make something great with what they've got, and I especially love to see the metaphor in mechanics. The sound and art were great, and I'm excited to see what you'll make in coming jams!

WATERCOLOR GALAXY by chaoclypse 2021-04-26T15:43:34Z

Deeper and Deeper in Debt - Slumlord by automatonvx 2021-05-13T14:37:42Z

Fun and a weird combination of frantic and relaxing. I had a similar bug to dragonzbw

Pagemage by OrbitalBlueprint 2021-05-01T19:57:09Z

Absolutely lovely! Art was incredible, concept was great, gameplay was fun. I kind of wish shooting was more of a choice and conserving ammo was more important (maybe add in a worse weapon you have to use when out of letters?), and that I had a second or two to get my bearings on a page before enemies charge, but neither of those were especially detrimental to the experience. Congrats on making a great game!

Piercing Asteroids by Harker 2021-05-01T22:08:24Z

I agree that there's a great gameplay loop here, and I think it would be accentuated by some more feedback on player actions and tighter controls (though I think it is a good idea to make controls for a spaceship a bit fiddly, makes it feel weightier, more like an actual vehicle)

Also, I think this game actually has a very similar core loop to what I made, and its super interesting and fun to see a different take on it.

Deep Within by Untitled Studios 2021-04-26T19:24:04Z

@ristoretto thanks for playing the game! I definitely agree that it's a bit harsh and I really regret not having done something about it before the end of the jam.

Beneath by Rewzu 2021-05-01T19:31:03Z

Fun! The main mechanic of jumping and exploding the ground beneath you was great, and the music and art complemented it well. It felt to me like this mechanic could be better used in a context besides digging downwards, but it definitely works well here nonetheless.

Madman - The Crazy Scientist by mudlee 2021-05-01T19:40:33Z

Interesting game, not the most fun (its a bit slow and losing feels arbitrary), but I found myself liking it anyways? It's very surreal in this captivating way - it feels like there's some sort of secret other game or story beneath it.

Digtet by Sentmoraap 2021-04-26T14:22:21Z

I couldn't get the game to open :( probably an issue on my end, though

Deeper Sleep Beta by Kszaku 2021-04-26T22:50:19Z

This seems really really intriguing, but a lot of the text cut off on the right side of the screen, and it stopped working completely at the "focus on images in the center of your screen" part

Deeper Sleep Beta by Kszaku 2021-04-26T22:54:27Z

@kszaku like it stayed on a black screen for a long time without doing anything, even when i mashed inputs - maybe it was intentional and i was missing something?

@kszaku no problem man, game seems cool

Pretty, moody, and fun. Kept me very engaged all the way through!

Submarine Salvage by veno501 2021-05-13T14:24:24Z

Fun! The game has a bad case of mismatched artstyles, but it's made up for by the wonderful animations and squash&stretch. The core loop is pretty decent, though it sometimes feels like it's missing something.

LD48 - Math Hole by VinnieNovido 2021-04-26T14:17:38Z

It's an interesting concept, and the music is really nice, but I'd agree that it often feels too random for it to feel like I'm making meaningful decisions that contribute to finding the right number. I think this game idea would work well with more handcrafted levels.

Blue Cheese, Lunar Descent by clemonades 2021-04-26T16:46:50Z

Really really fun! The core loop is great, and kept me doing run after run. I love how the throwing mechanic is used for fixing machines, fueling the engine, *and* fighting enemies. The art is cute, and the music is solid. (my current highscore is 9055)

Fight Bytes by DrGrognak 2021-05-01T21:47:51Z

Neat concept, very fun, a little too easy, so I won my first try and basically had nothing else to do. Could be really great if there were a few more levels, and the enemy had more units than the player.

Cavin' by HeylloPotato 2021-04-26T18:37:01Z

Very fun, good core mechanic, the art at the beginning and end was stunning but the sprites felt like they clashed a bit during actual gameplay. Overall, very fun!

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-04-26T14:40:14Z

This was great! Fun, and well-polished. I must say though, the main mechanic of painting the dungeon felt a little useless...? There's nothing stopping you from just going really slowly and painting out everything around you before moving on, so it doesn't really encourage any real decision-making. Other than that, though, this is really really excellent, and I really enjoyed the thing at the end!

Saw this game on alex's stream- it's super fun. Well designed, great mechanics. It's visually cohesive, and generally feels very polished. It could use a wider camera view or tighter levels designed around the lack of visual information (the caution signs do wonders, but there's room for more)

4.5/5 fun, 4/5 overall, great job!

free fall by ruthiepee 2021-10-04T01:45:08Z

Changes by Michael Feldman 2021-10-04T01:43:05Z

Fantastic. My complaints first: the platforming is a bit slippery (especially that moving platform), the sounds are lacking, and the stages can be a bit repetitive.

However!

What this lacks in execution it makes up for in really good design, especially in regards to storytelling with mechanics. Each line of the (well-written)poem is really elegantly represented through the sparse mechanics that govern the game. I especially liked the final screen, on which I truly thought that there was no way to get the key through the door, and the game would end on a sort of cliffhanger-y note where you're never able to get through that door, until I figured out the solution. I'm not sure if I'm interpreting the poem completely correctly, but if I am, my experience with that final screen sums up it's themes very well.

good job!

Unstable Magicks by Untitled Studios 2021-10-04T01:31:38Z

@baldwinthree No such logic! Just good luck, I guess. Whatever the case, I'm glad you enjoyed, and yes I totally ran out of time for a quit button (although, maybe if people can't quit they'll play the game for longer- *cue evil laughter*)

Reversary by AploveStudio 2022-04-15T15:15:09Z

Absolutely fantastic and pretty much amazing in every way. The gameplay is fun for the first few minutes of the game, but can feel slow or lacking at times. The story and art on the other hand, are completely amazing. I found myself super invested in the relationship between Paige and Xoramir, and loved the worldbuilding elements that get sprinkled in over time. Great job.

Last Look Up by ClaytonRumley 2022-04-04T15:00:58Z

I genuinely adore this game. The narration is great, the music is killer, the art maybe leaves something to be desired, but the sounds are really funny. It is at once dead serious and completely ridiculous. I dunno, it just comes across as genuine somehow. However, it keeps crashing when I'm halfway through playing.

Impressive for your first time in unity! Much luck for any future endeavors in that program

Inevitable by MatchaMaze 2022-04-14T02:21:11Z

Simply fantastic. Like, actually, masterfully done. Reminds me of 'Loneliness.' (the game, not the emotion) This is a game where gameplay and story are one and the same, where the game is about realizing that the repetitive gameplay and the hand-hurting repeated motion and the chanting voices *want* you to give up. At first I was confused, (and frankly kinda annoyed) at the game. I mashed the button for a while, but I eventually gave up because I just wanted the game to be over with. At some point, though, just before it all went dark, I realized I didn't want to give up. I didn't want to prove the point of what I had played so far: that I *should* just give up. So I started mashing the button, actually hitting it harder than I intended to, out of some sort of unexpected desperate emotion. And I found that it was too late, the timer too short, that it was inevitable. And then it ended.

good job.

Esoteric, weird, and confusing. My favorite :). Genuinely, this game was amazing. Creepy in a not-scary-just-*aaaAAA* way, and endlessly mysterious. It feels like this game extends so far beyond the walls that I'm able to play in - like if I could only clip through a wall, I'd find a whole strange and creepy world. That being said, though, I got completely stuck on the room with the snake.

Good take on tetris! I'm a bit of a tetris nerd so having any sort of shakeup to the formula tickles my brain-- i love the ways in which this messes with my tetris instincts. Piece saving and drop guides were missed, but I'm assuming this is more of a take on classic tetris. Good music, good graphics, good stuff.

Despite it being easy to be distracted by the *stunning* visuals and incredible game feel here, the way this game impressed me the most is in design. The concept is brilliant, thematically sound, and considers how the player will be interacting with the game at every moment. Genius.

Ninja | Thief by rolferm 2022-10-05T03:02:51Z

Super fun, and hilarious! Honestly, I think the control scheme contributes to this game a lot and makes it much funnier to play- almost a comedy of errors as you try to throw this ridiculous stuff out the window. This game's real Achilles heel, in my opinion, is the fact that the whole game resets every time you die. I wish it just reset you back by one item or something, because in the end it just got too frustrating to have to restart every time, and made the controls feel more limiting than funny. Overall, though, good stuff- great concept, funny, cute art, and really impressive that this is in your own engine!

Jekyll and Hide by Gangrue 2022-10-03T01:18:08Z

Fantastically polished, love the concept. Took me a long time to beat but kept me engaged the whole way through. The only problem I had with it was that there was too much waiting, which seems kind of ridiculous given the theme of the jam and nature of your main mechanic-- but many levels involved slow walks through long corridors where it felt like I would prefer to just be able to hop right back into the challenge I was just facing after being caught. Just a small gripe, though-- overall, great game.

10 Second Traffic by Grandblood 2022-10-03T17:14:41Z

Super rad!! The upgrade mechanic plays on risk-reward in a really fun way. This game is really well-designed, as as a result ends up feeling like much more than the sum of it's parts (which are great on their own as well).

Dimension Rush by LunariiSXZ 2022-10-06T17:19:40Z

LD52 — Harvest

The Last Outpost by Joror 2023-01-22T22:09:45Z

Absolutely fantastic!! The sheer magnitude of this game blew me away. There's so much here, so much to explore, and after about half an hour of playing, I have no doubt that I could keep playing for hours more. (Which I fully intend to, at some point when I have more time.) This has a great core loop, lots of interesting micromanagement mechanics, and on the whole really captivated me in a way no other game I've seen in this jam has.

The Dealer by Porcus_Pie 2023-01-22T22:50:30Z

Possibly the best ludum dare entry I have ever played, for one reason: this game knits together story and gameplay *perfectly*. The building stress as I need to go faster, as I need to harvest more of my customers, of making sure I'm well-stocked with all the organs I need mirrored perfectly the story of a black-market organ dealer that you're telling. Between the effective art, the stressful sound effects, and the engaging gameplay, I was brought into the shoes of the character I was playing as. Fantastic job.

A few minor notes, though I think if you had more time to playtest you probably would have caught these: if I'm already in a growing tube and I click on another one, I wish it would switch to that one rather than requiring me to click out of the menu first, and also I think it would be helpful if your current organ counts were listed while buying new ones.

Again, absolutely fantastic and an easy 5/5.

Late Harvest by khaotom 2023-01-23T02:10:35Z

Genuinely, unironically, quite fantastic. The art, though a bit abrasive, coheres well and ends up more charming than unpleasant. The mechanics, though simple, are satisfying and aided by good visual and audio feedback. On top of all that, the background music goes really hard and the sfx are great.

Monster Harvester by Notaveerus 2023-01-09T01:50:10Z

Fun! The gameplay is fairly simplistic, but damn if those spiderlegs dont look cool

Harvest Goddess by yetanother 2023-01-22T21:54:16Z

Very very pretty game, took a lot of rather slow-paced experimenting to figure out how the mechanics worked. Overall, I think having quicker restart times and a more clear mechanical explanation (though optimally with less text than the game has currently) would be helpful.

Strange Orchardist by BoxedMeatRevolution 2023-01-12T14:28:02Z

Super great!! The gameplay is really fun & smooth, even on a trackpad (I really appreciated the inclusion of the spacebar to jump in addition to clicking.) The art is charming, and the sound fits well to the game. Very intuitive, and left me wanting for it to be expanded upon (the inclusion of ice opened up all sorts of new avenues of gameplay.) My only complaint would be that the game seemed to fit better to a kind of precision platforming rather than the strictly timed gameplay it uses. That's a small complaint, though, because it works great as is. Overall, awesome game.

The Gleaning Samurai by allov 2023-01-09T00:42:49Z

Fun! I got overrun by weeds eventually, but stuck it out long enough to see the derpy tomato

Travelling Tea Maker by detectiveLosos 2023-01-23T02:01:27Z

Really lovely, and felt surprisingly open with a lot of replay value, given that it's a jam game (usually narrative jam games like this are much smaller and more linear in scope.) I loved the mechanic of experimenting to find the best teas while not using up all your special herbs, and I loved that it took some real skill to brew good teas (I didn't make anything anyone liked until my second playthrough.) The art is charming, fantastic, and polished. My only complaint is a few typos and story inconsistencies, but those could easily be ironed out through playtesting. Good stuff!

Escape From The Ostrobothnia by Tomssuli 2023-01-22T22:22:55Z

good stuff! Felt very fleshed out for what it was, almost stardew-valley-esque not only in its contents but in its chill tone as well.

Cube Digger by Quentin Wittevrongel 2023-01-12T14:40:47Z

This is really really great!! I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments, but this game is incredibly charming, relaxing, beautiful, and has a wonderful soundtrack. I adore the unique captain-toad-esque spin on the minecraft look (it reminds me of these tiny Minecraft Lego sets I used to have when I was a kid). Not sure if this was coincidence or is actually programmed-in, but I loved how the music resolved when I got to the end of the game.

Salvage City by StormCat 2023-01-09T01:17:57Z

Fascinating and gorgeous little game. I got a score of 28, no idea if that's any good

Asteroid Rush by Aarimous 2023-01-09T02:03:09Z

Great graphics and **incredible** sound design! Seemed sorely lacking in some kind of gravity for the asteroids, though. I have to admit-- I had much more fun with this game after I started trying to blow up all the planets instead of safely crash my asteroids into them.

World's Best Soul Harvester by SephoWepho 2023-01-22T22:35:38Z

Really fantastic! The movement was often a bit buggy, but the main mechanic was solid and led to some interesting puzzles. Those puzzles were made much clearer whenever there were identifying features in the level to hold on to, but obviously making unique art this gorgeous for the length of this entire game would be impossible. Also, of course, it was funny and the story is interesting though I'm not really sure if I 'got' it.

Chess The Second by aslan 2023-01-09T00:14:22Z

Screenshot 2023-01-08 181311.png

Deliciously strategic!! I quite liked this one. The only problem I encountered was that I sometimes couldn't take spaces and didn't understand why (even when no enemies had line-of-sight).

Iris's Scrappy Rumble by ScolonDev 2023-01-09T01:34:20Z

Simply fantastic. Charming art, great concept, wonderful game-play. Somewhat ars-magicka-ey while taking a unique and awesome spin on the concept. Final score: 11483. (I suck)

LD53 — Delivery

Long Tail by HitchH1k3r 2023-05-06T16:40:49Z

Super clever main mechanic, and great supporting mechanics that flesh it out well. There were a few places where I felt that what the mechanics actually did or how they worked weren't effectively communicated, but it only took a small amount of frustrated experimentation before I made my way back into a fun flow state. The art and sound are charming, and the puzzling vibes are great. Good job!

Bagelseeker by alaah 2023-05-03T19:51:30Z

Screenshot 2023-05-03 144656.png

Easiest 5/5 for innovation I will ever give. Absolutely fantastic.

I highly, *highly* suggest adding a more detailed set of instructions to your game page. I was *thiiis* close to giving up before I figured out what was going on.

Beyond all that, I think this game suffers from a few major issues outside of just not having enough signposting. I think the platforming is often a bit imprecise, and if you were sticking with the platforming system you're currently using, could maybe use some regular rectangular platforms instead of the complex terrain currently in the game for more consistency on platforming sections. The lives system could also go entirely, and I think might be part of why people are giving up on your game so early.

Overall, I have *no* ***idea*** how you achieved this in the span of the jam, let alone really how it works at all. Fantastic work, I hope more people get the opportunity to figure out how your game actually works, because it's really great.

Zero gravity delivery by island-jam-2-group-3 2023-05-06T20:06:09Z

Not the most polished visuals, and sometimes a bit janky, but super fun!!! I really love this concept / core gameplay loop. With some polish, I think that this could be super great, though as it is it's already really quite enjoyable to play.

Pizza Cat by DeadByDeath 2023-05-08T23:44:51Z

Simple, but super fun! As other commenters have mentioned, the hitboxes are a bit big and made it difficult to navigate the map before I got used to it, but after that running around delivering pizza was super great. I love how clever the pizza being your 'health' as well as your 'ammo' is.

Banish Pit by Firebelley 2023-05-06T15:30:34Z

Super great, very fun. The design of this is inspired, love the conceit of punching enemies into a pit, love all of the elements encouraging midair gameplay, love all the game-feel and juice. Music and sounds are retro and fun to listen to while playing, art is obviously fantastic. Great job!

Verses & Vibes by Madbarron 2023-05-06T15:51:17Z

Brilliant. Absolutely, incredibly, brilliant. I have a particular interest in writing, performance, and games, and this fantastic and innovative intersection of those things is positively wonderful. First of all: the implementation. I have no idea how difficult this would have been to create, and I certainly have no idea where I would start on a project like this. Kudos to this excellent and bug-free execution of this difficult concept. And *oh* the concept: a game about empathy, and about performance? I've genuinely never seen anything like it. This is exploring new avenues of gameplay that I've never seen explored before. I loved listening to how the words in each poem could reflect entirely different meanings on the poem depending on how it was read, and I love how I could 'get to know' my fellow readers, understanding their styles and how they would read in each different tone. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant.

Deliver letters... IN SPACE by Phoenix Fireflower 2023-05-08T23:31:33Z

Really awesome concept, super polished and fun with lots of great QOL features. Feels like I often accidentally made words, though - maybe this would benefit from using a different shot of some kind to 'confirm' a word? (Not sure if that's even a good solution, but this feels like it's maybe missing something)

ON TIME by VirtualMan52 2023-05-08T23:15:19Z

Really fun, *awesome* sound design, loved the adaptive music. Mechanics are clever and well-used. My primary complaint would be that there's no way to redo a puzzle halfway through 'running' it- often I would find that I would only realize how to solve a puzzle halfway through looking at an incorrect solution, and didn't want to wait until the animation finished playing. I also often wished that my turn signal placements would save between resets, so I could build off of my previous failed solutions to get to a working one. All in all, though, that's a small complaint. This game is charming, funny, and most importantly, super fun. Great job!

EneRail by Ryabchik 2023-05-06T17:30:47Z

Cool game! Love the aesthetic, sound design, and music. The mechanics for a great puzzle game are all here, though it feels like a few more levels to flesh out the mechanics would have served the game well.

Packing Panic! by joaosilva22 2023-05-03T18:44:57Z

Simple, but with really sound mechanics and execution. Actually had a ton of fun playing this with my friends, seeing who could get the high-score. The key mappings didn't quite seem to intuitively map to the boxes I expected them to, but I got used to it after a bit of frustration. The effects and sounds were satisfying and made it quite fun to improve and get in the zone. Good work!

Couriers' Route by Roroto Sic 2023-05-07T18:36:29Z

Super fun, absolutely great theming and vibe. I absolutely loved the mechanic of needing to pay close attention to location dialogues in order to figure out where to go next, and marking it on the map with the useful map markers. I don't want to spoil this moment for anyone playing, but the part where you have to go to an unmarked location, and discovering that you could actually move there? It was absolute magic for me.

Deliver the Gem! by SlickClyde 2023-05-06T19:49:56Z

Difficult! I like the main mechanic and how it encourages the player to get up close and personal with the enemies during combat. Maybe a supplemental mechanic like a close-ranged stun weapon or block that could further encourage and reward this behavior in players could make for an even stronger core gameplay loop. Also, some sound and more feedback to actions could make them more visceral and satisfying. Overall, though, this is still super fun.

Astacus Mechanicus by DeadlyFugu 2023-05-07T03:10:22Z

Absolutely fantastic. This is fantastically executed, and I spent about an hour getting to the 'Friday' level before I had to restart my computer and lost my progress. Super charming, fun art, and super fun gameplay. This kind of game is exactly my kind of thing.

I was super proud of getting through Friday and took a screenshot of my machine -> Screenshot 2023-05-06 172045.png

Alien Elevator by nhcarter123 2023-05-03T02:29:25Z

Actually really really fun! Figuring out the relationships between the aliens and their individual preferences felt kind of arbitrary and arcane at first, but quickly it became very fun to remember and understand. Moving the elevator was smooth and opening doors felt mostly responsive and satisfying (sometimes, though, it seemed unintuitive when an alien would come in vs leave, especially on the playground floor.)

My final score! Screenshot 2023-05-02 212711.png

Unicast Network Simulator by Richard Baltrusch 2023-05-06T19:42:36Z

Awesome take on the theme, with a unique and fun-to-master movement system. As others have mentioned, it might be helpful if in some cases it were a bit easier to see the label numbers.

LD54 — Limited Space

Broken Robot by Local Minimum 2023-10-10T01:37:57Z

Interesting! Took me a second to figure out, but pretty fun and definitely quite innovative. I couldn't help but feel like this concept had more potential than this game executed on, but I imagine that since you were time-limited, you felt the same way. Great work!

Ex Automata by ping78 2023-10-06T04:17:22Z

Super neato and very pretty! I found this strangely engrossing; its kinda exactly my kind of thing. I figured out what a few of the pieces did (i think?? the castle, triangle, swirly one,) but generally just kinda vibed it out and watched the very satisfying and pretty animations. Absolutely love this. Screenshot 2023-10-05 231553.png

LD54 - Box Survival by burnedkirby 2023-10-06T20:51:47Z

Super fun! I really wish you didn't opt out of ratings. Its obviously very simple, but the controls and handling on a basic level are quite good and consistent, and there's much more enjoyment to be had here than it appears. Good juice, good controls, fuckin' fantastic music. Great job!!!

P.s. I got to 136s, i tried really hard to beat that 150s but I couldn't even after like 10m of trying. It was a fun time trying tho!

Disc Runner by rasblo 2023-10-10T04:10:21Z

Really solid! I feel like this mechanic could go really far with the right sort of level design. I felt like what you have here *almost* lends itself to working well with this mechanic, but honestly I think if you had ditched the 'limited space' part of this idea entirely and just made it some sort of combat on an open field against enemies that encouraged creative use of the mechanic (e.g. the ones you have here, maybe an enemy that faces you with a big shield or something?) it might have resulted in a more fun game. As it is, this is polished, creative, and full of really fun ideas. Excellent work.

Limited card space by Zirrrus 2023-10-10T02:18:20Z

Slick, easy-to-learn, beautiful, fun. Really great concept, and great card design. With some roguelike mechanics, you could end up with something like *Balatro*, which is fantastic. Literally incredible that this is a compo game. Good work.

Rectangular rhythm selection game by A.Bond 2023-10-10T02:39:42Z

This is the most deeply hilarious game i have ever played. From the goofy guy talking to me, to the completely incomprehensible rules, to the desperate scrabbling to create a workable game idea, to the abrupt ending that quits the game. Amazing.

2/5 in fun 5/5 overall

Disco Seducium by najjaman 2023-10-12T21:25:20Z

Fun, cute little game! Absolutely love that it told a cute story, I would love it if more LD games used narrative more heavily, and I wish I did it more in my own work. It's really tricky to make rhythm games, especially in a short timeframe. Great job!

The Lost Probe by KotgeDev 2023-10-10T01:25:08Z

Tricky, with really silly (and, I have no doubt, intentionally obtuse) controls. Fantastically fun, I spent lots of time on this one. The art is really great, but felt like it could've been a bit more cohesive. (maybe make the background look more like it works with the excellent foreground art?)

Shrinking Universe by Snorps 2023-10-06T04:10:40Z

Some pretty neat design here! Super impressive that this is in your own engine. I found the puzzles to be well designed and the realization required to solve the last level (**spoiler??**: the fact that you can have multiple summons out at once) actually hadn't occurred to me before then and felt like a neat twist.

Honestly way more fun than I was expecting based on my first impression! I really loved slowly unpicking this knot of a map, and figuring out where I should go to get what I needed. I also *loved* the "twist" ending where you get near-infinite guys to summon. Fun stuff!

Bone Train - For Ludum Dare 55 by Fatal-Exit 2024-04-19T05:02:50Z

Evidence that good juice and excellent sound design can make something super simple way more fun than it has any right to be. I won't lie, I spent more time on this one than I meant to, which is a pretty good indicator that it's a fun one. Well done! Super impressive for only 8 hours.

SLEEP PARALYSIS by Dinoraz 2024-04-29T01:24:42Z

Simple but fun and well-polished. Sick mood, excellently juicy and creepy sound design. I'm a big fan of the lanky shadow fella. Good work.

The Summoning Circle by Harmadillo 2024-04-26T02:13:35Z

Mostly did not care about the dialog (passed by too slowly, I wish there was a way to pass through it faster), but the mantis saying "bye" actually made me laugh out loud, and the ending gave me a good chuckle. I actually quite liked this one-- though the puzzle design could use a bit of work, I overall enjoyed my experience a lot. You packed an impressive amount of content in here!

Against the Titan by CodeRaurus 2024-04-26T02:01:43Z

Loads of fun! Really cool to combine this sort of rhythm game-thing with this other strategic bit. Really cool! By the end, when I was using both sets of arrows and it was going really fast, I felt like a wizard weaving spells with both hands-- which I feel like was the game's intention, and it was conveyed expertly. Really good! (Also, fantastic art.) Screenshot 2024-04-25 205930.png

Literally me by TPace 2024-04-18T00:26:40Z

Fantastic stuff. I love the combination of creative freedom and obtuse restriction here. This really feels more like a creative tool than a game in the traditional sense. Lots is obfuscated here, but in a way that I found deliberate and engaging. I liked the combination of the randomly generated world already populated with things and ideas with the amount of liberty the game gives you to make your own. I like the limited inventory and the odd controls. There are plenty of UI and performance nitpicks I could make here, but I think that this work achieved what it set out to do.

Really great stuff.

Screenshot 2024-04-17 191830.png

P.S. The capacity for creative expression and the poetic theming in this kinda reminded me of one of my all-time favorite jam entries; this->https://delivery.madbarron.com/entry from last jam.

Battle of the Serifs by CamD67 2024-04-19T04:52:55Z

Silly, creative, funny.

Obviously quite simple and easy, but I don't think this is exactly intended to be complex. What it lacks in depth it makes up for with charm-- which is honestly all I need.

Felt like a 2010s flash game (in the best sense of the phrase.)

Deeply hilarious concept- good stuff.

6 Kadabra Resurgam Ocus by nathmate 2024-04-26T01:43:43Z

Cool concept! Very innovative. I wish I'd had a keyboard to play it the way it was meant to be played, as I think that the toggleable fingers unfortunately take a lot away from the game's charm and intuitiveness. I'm, however, extremely glad this was an option and therefore made the game playable even on my keyboard. The fingers moved a bit slowly for my liking and the gameplay was relatively shallow, but I found this game quite fun! Good stuff.

Spirit Chant by Liisa l 2024-04-26T01:51:41Z

Simple and fun! Loved the sound design and visuals of course. The gameplay is nothing to sneeze at, either; making a rhythm game is **hard**, and this one works quite well. Bravo!

The Fifth Seal by vivid-hallucination 2024-04-19T04:47:57Z

Excellent. Mysterious and well-written. Typos galore and some routes were certainly more expertly written than others, but nothing more than I would expect for a compo entry. Satisfying to unpick what was going on here, interesting magic system, good stuff. The wonderfully witchy magic reminded me of J.C. McCrae's *Pale*.

**SPOILERS**

The ending I settled on was the one where I convinced the willow tree to ward my glyph and successfully summoned the creature I was trying to. It seemed like a 'good ending,' but it was left to interpretation in a way I liked a lot. I liked how the reveal of backstory was handled; simple but effective. I liked the initial implication that Anna left our perspective character in a more traditional sense of the word, only to reveal that she died in a ritual. Neat.

The only moment when I felt fully taken out of the story is when the shadows on the wall of the columbarium said "BLOOOD MAGIIIIC" -- it felt a little goofier than the tone set by the rest of the work.

Besides nitpicks like that though, this was completely excellent. I adore text-adventure stuff like this, and this is exceedingly well done. You should be really proud of this. Mysterious; moody; magic; masterful. Good.

The Fifth Seal by vivid-hallucination 2024-04-19T15:06:38Z

@vivid-hallucination Please let me know if you ever add on to this!! I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed it and how immersive and mysterious I found it.

Summon Inc. by nemaberci 2024-04-26T02:27:11Z

This is a deeply funny game, and though unpolished, it shows a more thorough understanding of how to create a cohesive gameplay narrative than a lot of the jam-winning hyper-polished stuff I've seen in my years jamming. The moment I realized that nothing my managers had to say had any value at all, and I could ignore their summons completely once I had what I needed, was both deeply funny and genuinely had something to say.

All that being said, it's still a bit of a buggy and unpolished mess, but that's something that's much easier to improve at than the fundamentals that you've already shown to have mastered here. This is truly awesome. Good stuff.

Screenshot 2024-04-25 212458.png

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Dream Quest: Land of the Living Wishes by fusionnist 2024-10-24T00:28:08Z

Wonderfully beautiful graphics, but missing the kind of punch that would have made it really great. I think the mechanics themselves were fine, but missing some telegraphing of how they work and some feedback (screenshake, color flash, hitstop,) when you hit an enemy

Tossed and Found by SleepyStudios 2024-10-23T01:28:04Z

Really fun! Good puzzles at first, and the jank strangely made it much, much more fun to speedrun. I figured out some fun tech, like a way to ride up the spiders while still carrying an item, and a neat little clip on the mantis level. The only reason I stopped grinding was because waiting for the middle crab level got a bit dull (I spent a while trying to find shortcuts, and was sad that there weren't any.) Tech for the last level is really neat. I'm Joe B on the leaderboard -- how the heck did @hooknows get 1:55?? I'm jealous.

Shrew by LightningST 2024-10-22T22:18:53Z

Fantastic!! Really great stuff, I had a ton of fun playing through this. I definitely needed to take notes to solve everything, and I wasn't really expecting to need to do algebra, but I enjoyed doing so thoroughly. I really appreciate that the hints for the code puzzle were saved and displayed so I didn't need to write them down. Loved the zoom-out at the end, gave it a kind of bittersweet final note. Cool! I love any jam game that makes me go _...what the hell is this_? After getting to grips with what was going on though, this was actually really fun! The blob movement kind of reminded me of a game I'm rather fond of, Mushroom 11. My only issue with the game was that I found it stuttered a lot on my machine- I don't know what a good way to fix this would be, maybe running the automata as a compute shader? Though I really don't know how this is working on the back end. I really like cellular automata and this really tickled me. Cool!

W.A.S.P. - Warrior And Scout Protocol by Paroxysmal 2024-10-22T22:27:11Z

Nice graphics, though the pixel inconsistency was a touch distracting. For me, this enemy movement pattern felt more like something from a twin-stick shooter than from a shmup - I kept feeling like I wanted to shoot backwards and couldn't. Overall, though, this is a neat game.

Niblo and Mubbit by milq 2024-10-23T07:05:37Z

I very much enjoyed the story! The characters are cute and very charming. I like the art and sfx here as well.

The gameplay is... bad. I felt unsure if I was missing something the whole time, and at its worst it almost led me to abandon the game despite my investment in finding out what was going on.

I loved the twist ending.

Tiny Creature Support Group by coltonphillips 2024-10-11T05:12:12Z

Really fun, given that it's basically just hangman? The "buy" mechanic, along with the hints, made this quite fun to figure out - felt like solving a crossword!

Good stuff.

Small things by SID37 2024-10-08T22:04:31Z

Visuals are *awesome*! As someone who uses physically made art for my own games, I know how tedious and difficult this is to pull off. Gameplay is fine, but not the focus here.

Ladybird Samurai by ellaris 2024-10-11T04:48:45Z

Fun! There's a lot of lovely polish here with the bonus objectives and upgrades - though I fear that they serve to hide a main mechanic that doesn't have a lot of substance. I think with a few small tweaks, this main mechanic could be really really fun-- maybe more ability to aim, or to manipulate enemies into positions/ line them up? For now, this feels a bit empty. Sorry, that sounds quite negative- a lot that *is* here is really really good. I love the sprites that bob in when you complete the game, they made me smile. I like the polish you have here- everything feels super juicy. The bonus objectives do give fun goals to strive for.

Office Pets! by MisterCarson 2024-10-24T02:14:27Z

Cute and fun! Absolutely incredible for the first game you've programmed. And absolutely gorgeous, oh my goodness. All of these designs are so charming, it makes me want a whole animal/office supply based pokemon-type game!

Lint by turturi 2024-10-07T23:05:04Z

I love this! The dialog is sharp and charming, the art is adorable, and the platforming is pretty tight. It is remarkably difficult to get the platforms in a platformer to feel grounded like this, rather than arbitrarily placed- so kudos to you for doing that.

My only real gripe here was with the camera - sometimes it made it difficult to see where I was going because it would move up as i jumped. Platformer cameras sometimes have a buffer zone for their y axis movement so that jumping doesn't bring the camera far up and then far down again. (This is, of course, an incredibly minor nitpick.)

On the whole, this game was charming, funny, fun, and sweet. Great work!

What a wonderfully and unapologetically weird game. Really neat- I made the perfect heir.

Sick! I wish there were difficulty options of some kind - I got through this way too quickly. This is really fun though, I enjoyed my snail-racing time a lot.

The Scrimbly Bimblies by SMoore 2024-10-08T01:09:16Z

Obviously not really a looker, but oh my god this game is **FUN**. And the adaptive music is a great touch.

But seriously, the mechanics here are both dead simple and rock solid. This is fantastic work. Love it.

Really neat twist on the genre! The puzzle was fundamentally pretty neat, and I think that with some refinement this could turn out really cool.

Stick Racing by Prunus Padis 2024-10-24T06:32:13Z

Love the art!! The car paper crumpling is such a wonderful visual pun. Good stuff.

Hooking Back by Stending 2025-04-25T17:47:00Z

The adaptive music is absolutely delightful and gorgeous. The art is charming, and the game is swell. This one is just so full of joy- from the guy leaning back in the boat to throw out the hook, to the lovely little drawings of all the things you find. Great stuff, guys!

This is one of the most remarkable compo games I have ever played. Absolutely superb work.

Aerofish Project by almost 2025-04-25T20:14:28Z

Super neat! Gorgeous art, difficult and engaging gameplay. The mechanic of having your main base move every so often makes the world of the game feel perpetually dangerous, even when you have a pretty good build up of resources and units.

Delightful and devilishly difficult. I genuinely believe that this is the perfect execution of this idea. Well done.

This Blasted Mine by Pincushion 2025-04-25T16:03:13Z

Really great fun! I think the main mechanic here is really great. My only feedback is that it would be great if the explosions happened a bit faster, but while still clearly showing the order of operations.Screenshot 2025-04-25 110204.png

Ball Defense by Itskdog 2025-04-25T16:28:48Z

Really cool! I had a lot of fun right in the beginning, but once I figured out how long it would take to beat the enemy base, I quickly lost interest in the game.

Below the Machine by HolySparks 2025-04-25T20:21:39Z

Fun! Really cool art. I felt that it was a bit too punishing to have to fully restart when you die.

Face Your Fears by CodeRaurus 2025-04-25T17:54:19Z

Cool! I really liked how the game and music changed after picking up the toy. The art here is very pretty, polished, and fitting. I found that the gameplay was occasionally a bit finicky. For example: sometimes I couldn't place the buckets down and couldn't figure out why.

Swoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooord!! by She Wrote 2025-04-07T22:33:48Z

I *love* the graphics here. Audio is also lovely. I found the gameplay a bit difficult to figure out, and a bit frustrating. I got close to the heart, but didn't quite make it. Great work!

Neat! Really cool vibe here. I liked the response text at the end.

The Bends by henk 2025-04-07T22:45:28Z

Cool concept! I found the gameplay to be a bit slow, but the vibes were on point. I love the idea of coming up from a dive by scrolling up a web page- that's just so charming.

The Deepest Diamond by Silliest Goose 2025-04-25T20:18:39Z

Fun! The dash mechanic is especially really great. I found the 2D sprites in a 3D world to be a bit confusing to figure out.

Claw of the Mantis by Shadow Veil Society 2025-04-25T16:33:17Z

Fun!! I wasn't sure why I had to wait 60s between waves when I'd already collected all of the scrap.

Poor Julio... by Sayeg 2025-04-07T20:53:45Z

Quite touching ending. Really neat to subvert the main mechanic in the end. I love that lil guy so much.

Bag of Bag of Bag of Holding by ZettaSimp 2025-04-07T23:17:48Z

Really really cool! I *love* the concept. I got a bit lost on the 'staff of tedium' puzzle, though. (Fittingly, I suppose.)

Thank you so much for playing @sudocoffee!!! Sorry the windows version is missing, I've been abroad and incredibly busy (which is also why I haven't had time to play other games this jam, ack!)

Suffice to say, it means so much to me that you would take the time to compile the game yourself and play it.

Thank you! :)

Hazel's Jump by Marc Grabow 2018-04-23T02:05:17Z

Great creative mechanic! I only have two complaints: it was too short (which isn't much of a complaint I guess) and the controls were a bit weird. P.S. The art is good too.

Turn-Basedball by Blueman 2018-04-23T02:35:59Z

Great game, although a bit buggy.

Hyper Beat Engine by hypersnow 2018-04-23T02:46:35Z

I love this game. the mechanics are well-thought out, the art is stellar, the songs are incredible. Deserves more than a 5/5.

Perplexive Perspective by quixatocs 2018-04-23T02:02:59Z

Incredibly creative and fun game held back by dodgy collisions and slidy controls. Gets an extra half point for the name of the turtle.

What do you mean by controls not working? You may have to enter buildmode. Just curious for possible bugfixing. (also, there will be no Linux port. (sorry :( ))
