LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Office Routines by interface 2020-10-09T06:13:14Z

Cool Game! It was nice to see someone take the theme metaphorically, but then you also implemented it in a physical sense. I loved the design of the office and all the tasks were well thought out, and having the glowing marker helped a lot with some of the more complex tasks (like watering the plants). I really loved the audio, particularly the voice lines, and I liked how after completing the start/tutorial it ramped up in difficulty and placed limits on the amount of loops. Good job!

360 by stuffed wombat 2020-10-05T07:06:58Z

Super cool game! The music was amazingly atmospheric and the art looked fantastic. I probably spent about 3 minutes at the end holding right and hoping for more content to appear, and then when it didn't i decided to keep holding the button to hear the music anyway. Excellent job!

Hoop Knight by lectvs 2020-10-14T21:13:55Z

Awesome game! The hoop mechanic was a stroke of genius and it was flawlessly executed. Charging up a super-hoop and then destroying an archer was a great feeling. The art of the game was fantastic, super cute and boppy, and I loved the enemies and final boss. Really well done game, and I hope to see Hoop Knight continue on his journey!

Circle Golf by CG_Fred 2020-10-09T06:22:10Z

Really cool game! I loved the simple art style, but having just that little but of postprocessing and glow made it look great. The controls were super easy to understand, and the tips on the side of the screen were great, as they didn't obscure any of the level. I was originally going to say that the music was upbeat and calming, but as I played through the game it got increaingly more frantic and put me in a state of semi-terror. I managed to beat it in 4:04 (not the greatest time I know), but I had a lot of fun. Good job!

A Night Around the Fire by arron-fowler 2020-10-07T23:40:12Z

Neat game! The use of the theme was very good and I loved the art (wish I could make art that cool). The hiding/running mechanic was well done and I liked seeing my guy try to quickly find a bush or tree when he was left in the open. The whirring audio noise was good and helped build up the tension, but it would be nice if there was a noise for when enemies were searching for you, just to increase that some more. The only recomendation is perhaps adding some more variation in the gameplay, as after a couple loops it gets a little plain. Good job!

Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-05T07:51:55Z

@amin-jk000 were you using the mac version? If so it is untested as I do not have a mac.

Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-05T08:24:05Z

@amin-jk000 I have tried to fix the issue with mac, if you would like to try again.

Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-06T02:53:41Z

@indivicivet @nick-rafalski Sorry about that issue. The updated version was created post jam release, and I accidentaly skipped the tutorial due to debugging. It now works fine, although you can fast-forward the tutorial with enter if you want

Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-07T04:09:32Z

@indivicivet I suppose it does seem like that, but I actually played the game with WASD myself. I do think the right hand having controls is a good plan though

Clone Kitchen by StormCat 2020-10-18T21:55:26Z

@mike-caputo The game was very overcooked inspired

Orbit by ZEN 2020-10-09T06:06:36Z

Really cute game! The premise was really easy to understand and the gameplay was still fun and engaging. The music and sound were great, and I loved the art as well, particularly of the planet (go Australia). Although I did once get a level with no asteriods (which was a little weird) it was a fun and well-balanced game. Good job!

Pogo Knight by TheWinrawr 2020-10-05T06:42:52Z

Cool game! I loved the sound and art, and the tutorial was very clear. The only issue I had was that the pogo slice did not always seem to bounce me despite hitting the spikes, and therefore I died very quickly. My best was around 46 seconds.

Redneck Raceway by Henrik Ganard 2020-10-07T23:21:29Z

Cool game! The camera works very well and I enjoy the poly art style. The audio intro at the start suprised me but was quite funny. The controls were a little strong on the rotation, but it still felt pretty fun to play. Good job!

LittleIC by Amin_JK000 2020-10-05T06:51:41Z

The game looked very cool, but when I first tried it the mouse was way too sensitive and the blur was quite disorienting. After figuring out how to turn on fast graphics it was a lot easier to control, but I couldn't find the objective and so I was stuck on what to do.

LittleIC by Amin_JK000 2020-10-05T07:09:36Z

@amin-jk000 good to know, i might try it again and see how the rest of the game is

Just played it again, and now I understand the theme better and was able to win the game. Good job!

Azimuth Zero by toasterwerewolf 2020-10-05T06:46:54Z

Definitely a cool concept. I really like the idea that you have to navigate around the planet by finding your position, but I couldn't remeber any of the calculations, so it would be nice to have them somewhere in the game. Good job.

Möbi's Trip by Jack LeFevre 2020-10-05T08:02:42Z

Super good game! The theme was used to absolute perfection and the level design and transitions were flawless. I was sure that you had just made a super long reapeating map until I saw boxes and clouds upside down. The art was also wonderful. Brilliant work.

Gravitron by HGgamer 2020-10-05T07:22:23Z

Good stuff! The gravity switching mechanic was very well used and became even better with the introduction of buttons. The ticking sound was super useful in knowing when to stop moving. It was a fun game, although quite hard at times.

Outside The Loop by Peace Of Cake Games 2020-10-07T23:31:25Z

Cool game! The loop throwing mechanic was very cool, although it only seemed to act as a platform. The intro was great (I honestly thought that I had broken the game) and the gameplay felt good. Having the controls on the top of the screen was very useful, as I am a forgetful person. The one thing you should probably make clearer is that red loops restart the game (or loop it I suppose) because when I first found them I just jumped in immediatly. Good stuff!

While we are here - stuck in a loop by Seskon 2020-10-05T06:54:20Z

Very cool concept! The coding system was very cool, albiet a little hard to understand at first, but it worked well and was well polished. The only thing I'd recommend is some kind of tooltip/tutorial on the different code blocks. Good job

LD52 — Harvest

Not Mushroom for Error by TerraCottaFrog 2023-01-21T00:34:42Z

Really cool game! I love all of the different mushroom varieties and the simple but effective animations for them. It's a super well polished game that was testing my memory skills for sure. The mushrooms being randomly generated was also pretty amazing, I'm majorly impressed you managed to do that in 2 days. Overall a very good game.

Dice Settlers by Jimbly 2023-01-21T07:23:29Z

Very cool and fun game! (And addictive I might add). The mechanics were very solid and after a short while, pretty easy to use, and it had an amazing amount of depth and detail for a jam game. Great stuff!

The Search for The Golden Crown Plant by DuzzOnDrums 2023-01-10T07:28:26Z

Really cute and fun game! The sound effects and art are wonderful, and the animations really bring them to life. A very very well polished game for sure.

just do your job by kiv 2023-01-13T13:06:15Z

Very simple but fun puzzle gameplay. The tension and mood of the story is very clear, even when the story itself is a bit vague. I really like the art and crunchy sound effects as well. Cool stuff!

Pomodoro Panic by pkenney 2023-01-17T06:08:21Z

Very fun game! Running around smacking tomatoes into each other as I desperately try to stop the plants dying was a lot of fun. The art and sound effects were both simple but super effective, and the game had a fair but fun level of difficulty/

Good stuff!

Mothman's Forest by pixelstuff 2023-01-28T00:47:34Z

Amazingly cute game! The idea of going around as a [not that scary] mothman is something I really enjoyed. The stealth mechanics paired with not being able to get too close to the light was a lot of fun. The art was obviously incredible, and the sound of the mothman scuttling around was very good as well. The only thing to note would be sometimes the people would get scared when I couldn't see them and then run offscreen, but overall a really cool game. :)

Prawn Shop by Baconinvader 2023-01-28T00:35:46Z

Cool game! The shrimp raising mechanics felt pretty in depth and it was fun taking care of pH as well as food. The art was nice as well. It would be nice to hide the sidebar however, as algae grew underneath the menu which I couldn't remove, so my pH went super high and I couldn't fix it. Overall, pretty fun. :)

Square Factory by rodel77 2023-01-20T03:58:05Z

Neat game! It was a very well polished and clear experience, very addictive. The music was great as well, but the after getting the plus factory, the game felt like it really started to slow down. It would be nice if you could perhaps buy factories in bulk as well as with the speed up mechanic, but overall a cool game!

Hex-Yield by AndideBob 2023-01-25T13:25:06Z

Really cute game! I can't *believe* how much you managed to do in just 3 days, particularly with this level of quality. It originally took me a little while to figure out how to make new tiles off of the desert and water, but I quickly get enthralled by the trying to get all the different combinations. I ended up getting 20 of the tiles, but I'm sure if I hadn't stopped myself to write this, I would be hunting down the rest. Both the art and the sound/music were also brilliant, evoking a really fun and calming mood that worked great to convey the cute and relaxed tone of the game, but with the sound effects being *just* crunchy enough that it was incredibly satisfying to press harvest and here my progress bar go up.

Overall, a really excellent game! The only thing I could think to add was some more information in the compendium, but I can see that's already on your list of things to do. Thanks for making such a cool game :)

Crowings Do by PatrickRMC 2023-01-17T05:59:58Z

Very fun and cute little game! Just a simple but enjoyable gameplay loop, and some lovely art and sound effects.

Good job!

Mustered by arron-fowler 2023-01-22T02:41:04Z

Cool game! I remember playing "A Night Around the Fire" by you a year or two ago, and it's really neat to see how you've been getting on with this!

The card/worldbuilding mechanic was a lot of fun, it reminded me somewhat of Carcassonne, which is a great board game. The sound effects and music added a lot to the game as well, it created a very fitting atmosphere for the gameplay.

At some points the cards did feel *too* random, as on my first run I never got a "move in" at all, but generally it feels pretty well designed. I also wasn't quite sure what to do with water, but it did add to the setting of the game.

Good job!

When It's Harvest Time by Hoichael 2023-01-21T00:22:07Z

Cool game! I was very much *not* expecting the twist, but it was very funny. I did find the initial wave very hard to survive, it took until my third attempt to live more than a couple seconds, but the movement and shooting were a lot of fun as well. Good job!

Petra Rabbit's Carrot Chase by TheseusInABottle 2023-01-16T21:55:33Z

Cute game! The sort of wooden-toy artstyle looked great, and I really enjoyed the sound effects and music. Just wanted some more levels to play.

Harvestar by CaptAndrey 2023-01-24T02:24:19Z

Cool game! The fact that it's based off of real constellations is a neat touch and the pattern finding was a very unique idea, which I liked. I do think like some other people who have commented that adding sound would do quite a lot, even if it's just some simple ambience, but overall, a neat project!

Salvage City by StormCat 2023-01-09T02:27:42Z

@yorsh The little bombs are probably what killed you, sometimes they're a bit hard to see because of the way I made the colours. Thanks for playing!

Salvage City by StormCat 2023-01-09T02:29:33Z

@joel-davis Yeah, the code I wrote to make the worm isn't very good at dealing with sharp turns, like the peak of a narrow jump, so sometimes it can get a bit choppy. Thanks for playing!

Salvage City by StormCat 2023-01-09T02:30:27Z

And thanks for @paulstraw @untitled-studios @scilly-guy for playing as well! :)

Salvage City by StormCat 2023-01-21T04:29:21Z

Thanks for the feedback @deprecat! I definitely need more audio, I sadly ran out of time to do basically any by the end of the jam, so that would be great for sure. I hadn't thought of adding extra objects to eat, but that could be really cool as well. As for people, I avoided them in the jam version, just so I didn't *fully* go out of reasonable scope.

Thanks for playing, and thanks to @joey-shipley @rickylee @duzzondrums @arscene @roblaro @iminsoftware @forik @sisyphean-games @vivek-sharma20 @surrealsalad @pazzi @arron-fowler and @jimbly for playing as well! It's really nice getting all of the feedback. :)

Hare Runner by Crychair 2023-01-10T05:49:00Z

Really fun game! I was pretty terrible at it (I never got above an F lol), but it was very good. The voice acting was definitely incredible, and the gameplay felt very polished, but I couldn't figure out what the crouching did and some of the sound effects peaked my headphones. But overall a really cool game!

Jack-O-Bowl by machino 2023-01-13T12:49:16Z

Cool game! I found it a bit hard to throw the pumpkins as the mouse sensitivity was very high, but the art style was awesome, asbolutely props for that. It could do with some in-game instructions but overall I liked it. Good job!

Plot Luck by Ani 2023-01-16T22:00:54Z

Really cute game! I loved the little farmer, who was obviously very happy to be gambling on his crops. The music and art were both very good, gave me a sort of sokpop vibe. The slots mechanic was fun as well, though it would be nice to have a little more influence on the results. Good stuff!

Juicy Reaping by Kita 2023-01-25T13:40:23Z

Very cool game! I love the concept and the various weapons, but unfortunately my laptop is a bit too old to run it very well, so there was a lot of motion blur and lag for me. I very much enjoyed the art from what I could see, with the different fruit and vegetable enemies all looking very distinct and cute. I would love to see the concept expanded in the future.

(Test) by TweekStudios 2023-01-24T02:41:48Z

Cute prototype! The graphics were very cute, and the crunchy sound effects made placing the plants very satisfying. The mood was great, and despite the fact there was only one type of plant, it was still very fun to do. The only thing it needs now is a bit more variety and perhaps some sort of end goal!

Overall, very good stuff and I'm looking forward to the post jam version.

PROTECT THE HARVEST by Sam Cousins 2023-01-13T12:56:08Z

Very cool game! The art was great and the map was *just* the right size to fit in everything and keep aware of the badgers. The sound effects were very crunchy and satisfying as well. Only thing to do now would be add some more powerups and enemy types!

Congrats on such a good first 3d game!

SolarShip by Bardia Crunch 2023-01-22T02:24:24Z

Cool game! I really liked all of the art and shaders, the laser, drones and especially the sun/solar flares all looked great. The gameplay was pretty fun and easy to understand, although the solar flares were sometimes infrequent enough that I had to just slowly sit and lose power.

Overall a really cool game! Especially for you second jam, you should be very happy with it.

Soul Harvest by serg-z 2023-01-13T12:43:50Z

Cool game! The characters and animation looked very nice, although the enemy dying sound get repitive pretty quick. I really enjoyed the different weapons, but it would be cool if there were more because of how quickly you unlock them. I did try to get the population down to zero, but after a couple thousand it got pretty boring just holding the button and walking around. Maybe adding some way for the player to die could help spice it up a bit?

But overall a really good effort!

LD53 — Delivery

Dough or Die by gold.daniel 2023-05-15T13:43:47Z

The cut scene at the start is great, and controlling an exploding car was very fun. I did find the load of boxes lagged my laptop a little, and the jumps got quite hard, but it was a fun play overall. Cool stuff!

Waggle Danger by Haustgeirr 2023-05-17T13:46:01Z

Cool game! I love the cute little bee going around, and the crow was very intimidating. It was sometimes hard to tell when the beat was in the song, so having some sort of visual indicator would be nice as well.

Tentacle Delivery by Cloistered 2023-05-17T14:34:10Z

Cool game! It can be a little hard to aim, but it was fun overall. I also enjoyed going for trickshots and aiming straight for the last tentacle.

Stork Run by ditam 2023-05-15T13:32:18Z

Cool game! It did take me a little while to figure out where to drop the babies to get the points, but the steady increase of mechanics and difficutly was very good.

DE/LIVER by StormCat 2023-05-06T12:54:59Z

@darchankaen Don't worry! The liver was sourced from a butcher and was free range. Thanks for playing!

DE/LIVER by StormCat 2023-05-16T12:39:10Z

@simex Yeah! It was made with the Love2d framework, but other than input and drawing handling, the rest of the logic, collision, ai etc. was made from scratch.

Hade's Delivery by Sheol 2023-05-15T13:26:18Z

Cool game! The shooting and design was a lot of fun, and there was a surprising amount of enemy variation. I really liked the little hot dog roll as well.

Mystic Postman by interpixel 2023-05-18T13:32:56Z

Cool game, and it was crazy to see a world that large for a game jam, but there wasn't a lot of variety and it was a bit unclear what you were meant to do.

Delivery from Space by SinusQuell 2023-05-15T13:22:13Z

Fun game! Although it does get hard a bit quickly.

Supply Sprint by Mololo 2023-05-17T14:46:21Z

Fun game! The physics on all the packages was very fun, and the mountains in the back looked great. The music got a little bit repetitive, but the gameplay was fun enough to make me try and beat my scores. Great job! :)

Planetary Pizza by mrks 2023-05-17T13:55:13Z

Cool game! I really liked the concept and it was fun trying to put together pizzas, but the gravity of the different planets and the sun made it very hard to control sometimes, so I never ended up delivering anything succesfully. Still had a lot of fun though! :)

Mech Express by No whOne 2023-05-18T13:38:52Z

Very cute and fun game! I loved the art, both of the cats and the rats.

It did get a bit easy with how many cat robots I was getting, but definitely a lot of fun moving them around, as well as a pretty unique mechanic.

Great job!

Shadow Thieves Delivery by projectcolorball 2023-05-17T14:12:21Z

Very good music and art. I did find the invisible/painting mechanic a little confusing, but overall a really cool project!

Lil' Red Witch by Bluepir 2023-05-09T10:17:05Z

Really cute game! I loved the cutscenes at the start and the end, and the witch was a lot of fun to control.

Justice Delivery by Gurtek 2023-05-17T13:41:02Z

Cool game! The grappling hook is fun and the sword-swinging is very intuitive, as is the reflecting. Some rounds are very fast if you spawn near the boss, and it's sometimes easy to just beeline in, so something like a shield you have to break in a different part of the map might be a cool way to encourage people to move around.

Overall a fun game! Congrats on your first Ludum Dare. :)

Ghostal Service by Graphman31 2023-05-17T13:51:06Z

Cute game! The parallax with the background worked very well, and the obstacles were all quite obvious. It was a little hard to tell what the souls were for, but they looked cute so I picked them up anyways.

Towers N' Treasure by BrineLeaves 2023-05-17T11:13:26Z

Cute game! The enemies did take a little while to appear for the first wave, but it was a lot of fun looting them for treasures. The art and sound were both very cute as well, particularly the sleeping dragon. A minimap would be a really nice addition, as the north/west/south/east system was cool but the map was a bit too large for it to work perfectly. Overall a cool game! :)

Return To Sender by hacktic 2023-05-17T14:41:03Z

Great game! It was a lot of fun quickly checking everyone's letters. Plus I had a pretty hard test on the UK place names.

What do you think of my severance? Screenshot 2023-05-18 004005.png

Aqua Mama Drama by aqua mama 2023-05-15T13:36:50Z

Fun game! Simple but engaging game loop, and I liked how bouncy the fish looked.
