LD42 — Running out of space

Running out of space by Predominant 2018-08-13T10:33:35Z

Fun game. I like the style - reminds me of Little Big Adventure. I really liked the exploding parcels touch. It's a shame you have to dispose of them because it's very satisfying when you don't haha.

GLASS HOUSE by AkirAssasin 2018-08-14T16:01:33Z

Gorgeous looking flowers. Some audio would've made this really top notch. Lovely experience, even if the theme was missed a litte

Space Junk Jettison by Mark Smith 2018-08-13T09:19:48Z

Interesting idea. The tone and aesthetic of the game is very nice, I especially like the Earth. The space cats are cute in ghoulish way. It felt more like I was making space, than running out of it, and I felt the amount of debris needed to clear was too high. I think the concept is great though. Nice job!

Reso Crawler by ShockWire 2018-08-14T15:04:26Z

Really clever use of window size! Cute game.

Brand new shop by Mathiouza 2018-08-14T14:42:42Z

Cool retro graphics, reminds me of Space Quest. I found the reaction time game nearly impossible but the rest were nicely tricky. Nice frantic game play.

Bury The Dead by wdhg 2018-08-14T15:46:03Z

Fun game. Quite terrifying when there's no space to dig left haha

Emissary by Handle 2018-08-13T09:35:07Z

Gorgeous looking game. I found it a bit of a finger-twister to play. Nice idea, lovely style - great entry.

Power Plant by Noam 2018-08-14T14:53:26Z

Quite a nice somewhat chilled game. I like the addition of depth with different flowers. I would enjoy this as a multiplayer. Nice one.

Falling Ecosystem by sprvrn 2018-08-13T09:50:19Z

Awesome game! Took me a while to figure out the water/tree dynamic but I like having something to uncover. The 'downward spiral' at the end of the game is quite long, as you can't affect built on tiles, so I ended up just watching the world collapse for a while lol. Charming style, addictive game. Brilliant!

Weapon Warehouse by ConnorThompson 2018-08-13T10:18:12Z

Pixelart is nice, great concept. I spent an embarrassingly long time trying to pick up the cart instead of the boxes. Addictive once I was playing it properly.

Dat Der Sidescrulluh Game by Rayaarito 2018-08-28T18:14:30Z

I enjoyed this, I stayed in one corner for a while thinking i couldn't be killed... and then they came! Became mad hectic and i like how it was actually hard to move near the end. I like the scrapbook style artwork too. Good job. aGoodWayToDie.png

Spacecraft OS 8 by ManTou 2018-08-15T15:56:28Z

@jharler 'Smug look' sums it up perfectly - watching them smash my ship while I keep starting up the Guide System in panic! Really novel idea, I enjoyed it!

Inventory Quest by acfaruk 2018-08-15T15:27:17Z

Cute concept. Inventory management needs to be it's own genre of game. Once I got a feel for a good item value I empty each slot until a certain value item is achieved, then move to next one. Fun game.

Iceberg Fall by TDog 2018-08-13T10:37:10Z

This game as a couch co-op would be great. That 'on-the-edge-of-control' feeling is really satisfying. Made me laugh out loud a lot.

Exodus Terminus by somuch 2018-08-13T10:23:18Z

I was getting plenty of bribes until I let the dog in and got fired. Worth it. Nice concept. I liked the meta story in the background. With more time that could be quite interesting. Good job.

Malpractice by Haustgeirr 2018-08-13T10:09:32Z

@bovandenberg For the sprites I made low-res pixel art (in MS Paint) then used Trace Pixel Art tool in Inkscape - it came out better than I was expecting lol. The background is just made straight up in Inkscape. Glad you liked it.

Malpractice by Haustgeirr 2018-08-13T10:11:41Z

@somuch Glad you enjoyed it! I'd be lying if I said play testing wasn't me mainly putting people down... The blocking was a happy accident, blessing of terrible path-finding code!

Malpractice by Haustgeirr 2018-08-13T10:13:21Z

@marmadukian I was still trying to balance those guys in the last minute... The swines.

Malpractice by Haustgeirr 2018-08-17T11:55:55Z

@tattomoosa Thanks! No, it wasn't intentional. First jam jitters and I didn't play test enough lol

Space Run by mitsu.artemius 2018-08-13T09:29:28Z

Very cute game. Love the heart/mine screen size changing. Couple of things I encountered - one I actually quite liked seeing the level appear at the leading edge of the camera, but I also encountered a game breaking bug. Dying on Venus I accidentally hit the 'enter' key on my numpad, closing the pause menu and forcing my to quit the game. Really liked the jetpack and some of map design. Nice!

The Big Crunch by psjuk0 2018-08-14T15:10:23Z

It's a clever idea. Nice mechanic that's well executed. Good job

Polar Bear Ballads by diesdas 2018-08-15T16:05:25Z

Fun game, depressing theme. I liked the minimalist art style a lot.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Sacrificial Sam by HitchH1k3r 2018-12-17T18:30:42Z

Really enjoyable game! Quite nice to complete it although I found the secrets I'm not sure I got the good ending. I'm also unsure where the theme comes into the game? Nevertheless, it was lots of fun with nice character. Great job! :grinning:

F.O.U.R. by Ava Skoog 2018-12-29T18:48:53Z

Wonderful game here. I loved the feel and direction of the game. Nice aesthetic, and clever little puzzle. If anything I feel like the good ending of the game was a bit of a pulled punch and lacked satisfaction. Maybe a short dialogue/cut scene could really elevate it. Overall though one of my favourites! :grinning:

Colors of Your World by DDRKirbyISQ 2018-12-29T17:43:01Z

An interesting platform game. The art style and music are definitely the highlights. I found the controls quite painful, maybe some additional bindings would be good. Also I feel that the theme was not integral to the game. Definitely one of the more polished entries, but perhaps a bit short. Good job

Escape The Sacrifice by Pete 2018-12-27T19:10:07Z

I love escape rooms in general so this was a great little game for me! A few good puzzles, it's only a shame there weren't more! I really appreciated the puzzles were't 'find the pixel'. Last one had me stumped ,and I'm a tad embarrassed to admit I was fiddling around with my system clock for a few minutes before the penny dropped. It;s a shame the theme wasn't more evident in the game and some music would've really gone a long way. Overall it was a lovely little experience.

Send In The Interns by A-Flat Miner Studios 2018-12-17T17:47:52Z

Lovely art style. Clever gameplay, with good puzzles. Very charming and definitely something you could polish and release.

Slime Girls by nervous-composers 2018-12-17T17:31:39Z

Nice game, cute concept. Did you use tile based colliders? I felt like I wasn't always in contact with the thing that killed me (which happened a lot). Great submission!

Useful Corpses by ryjcio 2018-12-27T18:54:18Z

Great concept here. Nice atmosphere and mood and interpretation of the theme. My main issue was with the colliders - it became increasingly frustrating to position the corpses effectively, or I would die unfairly. I was probably just bad at the game though  Great job!

MARATAKA by Vodzik 2018-12-27T21:22:46Z

Clear gameplay, a bit sluggish movement. Found I lost quite often trying to go the wrong way up the volcano. I like the self-sacrifice option. And the clubbing element felt really on-point. Great job!

Destructor 32 GMS by Erik Brunnstrom 2018-12-27T21:07:06Z

Superb game! Definitely something unusual and really captivating. Took a few misfires to get the jist of what I was doing, but I finally got the leader with only minor casualties. My biggest complain is the use of the mouse-wheel. Otherwise, really great job.

Gatopia by krunoslav 2018-12-27T21:14:19Z

Cute game. I found the controls a bit cumbersome, and I never felt like I was sacrificing the cats, just leaving them to a horrible fate.

The Eternal Cold by Roka Josh 2018-12-05T18:53:38Z

I liked the idea of delegating tasks to your tribe of brave survivors. I found it difficult to understand what was going on or what the different tasks did. I was doing great until I got bandit attack 4 nights in a row and lost everybody -- not so well after that. The concept is great though. Would love to see this fully executed.

Documentia by Pandanym 2018-12-30T14:10:16Z

Very interesting experience. I really liked the whole thing really. If I had a comment it would be that the dialogue noise became a tad grating later on. The game itself wrapped up way too quickly, I was enjoying it quite a bit, but with multiple endings to explore that's no problem! Really stand out effort. :grinning:

Chopping Block by speakertone 2018-12-05T18:04:46Z

Nice little game, thanks for the note about the resolution bug. The rules were interesting, I think with more time spent reinforcing them the game would make a lot more sense. I ended up intentionally failing the level to see what rule I missed, so maybe a punishment for that would be in order. Good job.

Bokeh by arron-fowler 2018-12-17T17:40:15Z

Nice atmospheric game. I did a double take when I saw the screenshots and instructions, but its very playable and engaging. Great job!

Abbey Massacre by Sempiternal 2018-12-06T17:50:46Z

Fun game! Nice art style - reminds me of Little Big Adventure! That damn bishop spotted me every time. Great concept and really nice atmosphere. Seems we weren't the only ones with a clergy theme!

Fruit Blast by Bibicio 2018-12-05T17:55:22Z

Nice controls, straightforward idea, well executed. I could listen to that music loop all day. Seems like the 'Less Fuel Usage' upgrade is much more effective than the others. Also the SFX were lost a little bit to the music. Great job though, I got to planet fruit loops!

Ass Man by Kaboosh 2018-12-05T19:17:34Z

Beautiful name, beautiful game. Really nice work on the visuals. I couldn't get to grips with the controls though, and didn't get to experience much consequently. Great job. :grinning:

Endless Nungeon by Haustgeirr 2018-12-05T18:09:06Z

@robowarrior1982 Ah that sucks! The webGL version did not build correctly (and now wont build at all) so maybe that's causing some issue. Or maybe it's terrible coding? Thanks for playing!

Endless Nungeon by Haustgeirr 2018-12-06T11:00:09Z

@kemal-caglar-guler @a333 @abso Thanks for the kind words!

Endless Nungeon by Haustgeirr 2018-12-30T13:49:27Z

@ava-skoog Definitely the difficulty is too high - we've made a game that only we can play - oops! @Baleoce made all our sound, recording himself on his microphone I love the 'whomp' fireball sound effect he made, and how he walked in his bathroom to capture the footsteps.

Robot Altar by BoopsGames 2018-12-05T20:52:11Z

Nice game. I found the controls a bit confusing, but the concept was really fun. I like the art style. Had a blast. Thanks!

Elder Loop by cyriaque 2018-12-05T19:06:50Z

I really liked the idea. Definitely an interesting concept. I found I was dying to random enemies in doorways quite often which was a real shame. Great idea. Cute graphics.

Happy Meal by wischi 2018-12-05T18:58:40Z

I didn't realise I had to eat my dogs! My poor F key and my poor dogs. :crying_cat_face: Great ethical dilemma. Nice job.

Pyramid sacrifice by luker128 2018-12-27T19:23:25Z

Nice take on the ol' snakes & ladders. I think if you die a full reset is in order as it's near impossible to get back up once the fireballs start up! Good ending though.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Knights of the Holy Loop by RenD 2020-10-09T09:33:56Z

Really enjoyed this. Found the difficulty curve went straight down as once you get the Reverse Girl it was a bit of a breeze. I was anticipating a fixed party size. I think there's definitely scope for expanding this as with some extra work you could generate some really interesting gameplay. Sadly my run ended when the final node failed to spawn. Fantastic job, super impressive!

capture.PNG

Looty Loop by BitOfGold 2020-10-06T21:07:24Z

Really liked the aesthetic and gameplay in this. I would have loved a ramping difficulty, as once you get a few upgrades the game becomes quite trivial. Got to the blue fireball staff and had a blast. One thing that did frustrate me is that you can't collect the loot from the last mob you kill, but maybe that was to force me to kill Trolls first? I dunno, pretty minor all things considered lol. Great job!

Trapped On Track by Mads 2020-10-06T20:38:40Z

Great concept here. Really enjoyed it, but found the track building mechanics pretty unforgiving given how long you have before a boulder smashed your chaps, lost quite a few to track deletions too. A game I'd love to come back to. Well done!

A Night Around the Fire by arron-fowler 2020-10-06T20:02:07Z

Great aesthetic, very War of the Worlds. I found it a bit tricky to progress as it seems luck based whether there will be somewhere to hide near an alien? It was very satisfying to get zapped mind you. 🤣

Circleline by caeonosphere 2020-10-08T13:25:24Z

Blown away by your game! Fantastic entry, really nice aesthetic and such high quality. That last level was great. Just really well done! (321 click, 58 crashes)

Loopstuck by Nobleboy 2020-10-06T19:57:45Z

Like playing a fever dream. I could barely get off the starting platform - it was a bit too frustrating for me, but an interesting take on the theme. Creepy but cool.

Impunity by Haustgeirr 2020-10-06T21:23:31Z

@nectanebo Ah, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I wanted to really limit the scope of this one as I've struggled to get everything done in time in the past. It's tough to find the right balance!

Impunity by Haustgeirr 2020-10-08T12:28:40Z

@loig I never even considered a trackpad - I'm sorry! Thanks for the feedback.

Worm's loop by Zero-Ichi 2020-10-06T21:10:10Z

Nice audio and mechanics, I found the rotation a bit disorienting. Cool game.

Quantum Loops by necauqua 2020-10-06T20:26:59Z

Great effort to do this in WebGL. The first level took me quite a while, but once I got the knack is was pretty fun. Ended up with ~20% on the last level. Nice one.

CUB by Loig 2020-10-08T12:48:13Z

Great, straightforward game. Got stuck on lv 8. Really interesting mechanic, and it's very satisfying to watch the moves loop over. Really good effort!

Orbits by CaptainProton42 2020-10-06T21:45:50Z

Great take on the orbits mechanic. I couldn't finish the last level as I found the view a bit limiting. Great aesthetic, make me think of Holedown. Really nice work.

Among The Stars by Layne Stokes 2020-10-08T13:32:08Z

Nice entry - gives me heavy Super Hexagon vibes which is a good thing. Sadly, I was terrible at that game too. Great job!

Looponaut by exopunk 2020-10-06T21:30:54Z

Cool little game. Really liked the atmosphere, but I found that speed running was more effective than combat in later stages. I didn't see the end though as the game crashed. Good effort.

Loopwise by Baran 2020-10-06T20:17:21Z

Great idea. I'd have preferred the attack animation to be a bit quicker, and on the !=256 level I found myself commenting out everything until the right number popped up. Also seemed to softlock with continuous new levels, or was that the joke? Either way, charming aesthetic and premise. Great job!

Slime Factory by HyperCubeGames 2020-10-09T09:43:52Z

Nice rage platformer, not sure if it was intended but the colliders on the square end caps of platforms are a bit janky - found I got stuck on the a fair bit. Great effort for a first attempt!

Paradox by IndieRonin 2020-10-09T09:12:27Z

Enjoyed this game, despite some elements which were challenging. With some player feedback/juice this could be an interesting game. Played through about 5 rooms but got stuck. Had fun, nice job!

Cursed Temple by Neragoth 2020-10-09T08:55:56Z

Really nice game, great art style and mechanic. I ended up playing it a bit like a rhythm game, really rewarding to play. Really enjoyed the sass from the totem. Top notch effort!

LD53 — Delivery

Tiler's Trucking Co by Aggrathon 2023-05-15T21:44:29Z

The win level sting was loud. Nice, calm art style and general vibe. Using rust is _chef's kiss_, great job.

Snapdash by caeonosphere 2023-05-15T21:33:52Z

Hey! An _unsurprisingly_ fun little game. I found the controls as a little tricky, and the movement a little slow. But who has time for polish? Gorgeous art style and concept! Great work, congrats.

Speedy Delivery Co. by kristinamay 2023-05-16T20:59:09Z

I really liked the concept of this game, but it made my head spin. It felt a bit like homework haha. That said, I think with some onboarding and polish it could be a veryfun puzzle game. Great job!

Level Delivery System by Le Don 2023-05-15T21:25:24Z

Dave the stud. The stealth level was fun and very frustrating.

Very Good Happy Joy Play 3000 by poboy 2023-05-15T20:59:48Z

Unexpected. Great job.

Mars Delivery Program by Erlioniel 2023-05-16T20:25:41Z

Love the graphics, style and atmosphere. A real gem. I enjoyed driving round, but ended up getting stuck near the red pad. Great job!

de-Liver by noskro 2023-05-15T20:54:30Z

I made 31 dollars and drank 20 drinks before it became unplayable. Not sure if you can sober up but getting drunk was fun. The bar chatter sounds were fun.

Fulfillment by fargred 2023-05-15T22:52:16Z

I was much better at colours than shapes, and it took me ages to realise I could clear the managers. Love their sound effect too. Good work

Involuntary Nannies by xHadie 2023-05-15T21:14:14Z

Unforeseen consequence: I skipped the cutscene and spent the rest of the game thinking I played an abductor. Glad to find out I was wrong. The LD53 difficulty was impossible, did get a few kidnaps in on easy though. Great work.

Codename: STORK by Matt Green 2023-05-15T22:49:03Z

I made 20k and nuked the storks. Fun game, although I figured out early on just selecting the highest value destination was the best strategy. Later on I would skip turns to get the nearly 2k value ones, but otherwise it was just fast ships, big money. Good job

Delivery Drive by Volodymyr Karchevskyy 2023-05-15T22:58:49Z

I think I would've loved this had I been able to do a bit more off-roading. The curbs were so sensitive, but I just wanted to go crazy. Nice art style and concept.

Porch Pirate Panic by Stevie257 2023-05-16T21:10:14Z

This one is hot. Really crunchy game loop and juicy controls. I was hooked, and gutted when I died on wave 9. I felt like the AR was the obvious 'best' weapon, but the chaingun was more fun. In the end it got me killed because it's accuracy was 0%. Had a blast though. Great entry, great job!

Bloodiest Mary by nullmike 2023-05-15T23:09:38Z

Really enjoyed the mood, the graphics and music were really nice too. Sometimes I couldn't work out the correct drink at all, maybe I'm not perceptive enough. But by the end I was really interested in the story, great effort. I really got pulled in.

Delivery Cannon by Stellarr2 2023-05-15T21:04:00Z

I think the comments cover it, great potential. Keep it up.
