Fun little game I liked the wide variety of items and the rare secret ones that require scrolls. I just wish there was a better way to know how well i'm doing before the game ends. Because i never have enough time to actually look at the item values while the game is going. Overall well done!

ziltoid 2018-08-14 18:19

Nice Game. I really like the idea and the whole presentation (graphics, sound, item-descriptions ;)). Not too much to do after a while but on the other hand this game is totally fitting the theme!

peringo 2018-08-14 18:21

Always great to play and find a game with an eerily similar concept and gameplay to the own entry.

Loving that Megaman - Sprite and the item appraisal is pretty fun. I don't know about the music choice and would've preferred something more relaxing personally, but overall a solid entry!

micahtron 2018-08-14 19:03

Fun and addictive. I second on the immediate feedback though, since while collecting I wasn't sure what I was going for other than freeing space. There were items I knew to keep from their description, just didn't know for what. Also love the Mega Man style graphics!

pierre-avinain 2018-08-14 20:17

Hey, really interesting game ! It may be a bit too long and repetitive for my taste, but the graphics and music are really cool. The idea is very original!

candlebird 2018-08-14 20:25

It's a great little game, but the only thing is that it really doesn't get exciting until you have ~5 slots left. Maybe the inventory is too large? One way to remedy that would be to have a small inventory at the start, and let the player decide if they want to sacrifice points during their run to make the inventory bigger. Otherwise, this is a good game!

thewustache 2018-08-14 20:42

Neat idea! Figuring out which items are valuable and which aren't turned out to be a lot of fun. I was wondering whether hiding the item value and only relying on the description could make the game more interesting, that way you wouldn't just be comparing numbers. Oh, and you nailed the theme!

vphyre 2018-08-14 20:44

It's a cool game. It has a different but interesting mechanics. Maybe it needs some variation in the gameplay, despite the intention of being a simple gameplay. Good job!

bloc97 2018-08-14 20:45

The game is pretty solid, but I would have liked it to start slow, so we could read the item prices, then ramping up the challenge by picking up items faster. I think that the cooldown on the drop action is rather unnecessary, especially when the drop rate is only slightly faster than the pickup rate. That is me nitpicking though.

xero560 2018-08-14 20:50

Cool web game, reminds me of a silly game I'd find on like newgrounds back in the day. Think the idea is solid, but just needs some more juice to stay exciting, like others are saying, gets more exciting when your inventory is almost full. I'd like to see the player character start using / equipping the items as he runs. Megaman guy is dope btw.

zachary-granger 2018-08-14 20:58

Fun game! I think a lot of the feedback is fair - the inventory is a bit too big and there's no apparent goal until you lose, which means you have to let yourself lose once you think you've found the best piece of inventory you likely can.

It would be nice if there were basic enemies or something along the way that would use up a piece of armor or a weapon, otherwise cause a game over. That, and maybe a score that can keep raising the longer the game goes on, so that it doesn't feel like you have to let yourself lose.

I only have that many comments because I enjoyed playing it though - very simple and addictive. Thank you!

pixelshorts 2018-08-14 21:04

It's a cool little concept. It's like the nightmare you live when you suddenly realist you're carrying a load of forks in Fallout. I enjoyed this.

camcam 2018-08-14 21:37

Cool concept and fun game ! Good job !)

flashviper 2018-08-14 21:45

It's a cool concept for a game, except I didn't realize certain items had a value, and just clicked randomly on a slot. Oh well. Guess I don't understand the finer points of gamerdom

heidi 2018-08-14 21:52

I appreciated that the end screen displayed the most valuable item. For me at least it's more interesting/exciting to watch the item of highest value change after each game than seeing just a number. Fun items and definitely fit the theme!

cary-stanley 2018-08-14 21:53

Cool idea, took me a little time to figure out what was going on. But once I did it was pretty simple. Only feedback I would give is the removal of items happens at the same rate items are added, so once you fill up slots you no longer have a buffer. Also would be interesting if there were more constraints, like you are required to have one of each type of item or you incur damage.

tasty-jose 2018-08-14 23:26

Nice game, the clicking to remove items wasn't always responsive though

sam-estep 2018-08-15 02:57

Neat idea! I like how you made it a memory game by only showing the values on mouseover. I did find it frustrating that there was a limitation on how fast you could throw things away, though; it made it feel less like a game of speed and memory and more like just a wait for impending doom.

corbak 2018-08-15 07:04

The variety of items and the idea is nice. I couldn't right-click on the items apparently. I could just left-click and throw them away. But anyway the idea is cute :)

awix 2018-08-15 07:58

A good game idea, the music should be improved. The graphics are good. Try our game too, maybe you'll like it)

acfaruk 2018-08-15 08:02

@corbak thank you! You can only unseal "black" items once you have an unsealing scroll in your inventory!

bismark 2018-08-15 12:21

Funny game : simple and efficient, where graphics, music and sounds are in adequacy to the mood ... mood ?!

Why can't vote to the mood of your game ? :-(

myalias 2018-08-15 15:12

Neat and simple game! I really like it! Nice work.

rargrave 2018-08-15 15:17

Since nobody has posted their best, mine was 761 ... I agree it would be nice to have some running total before the end. Overall really neat idea, and defiantly matches the theme.

andrei9 2018-08-15 15:20

))) :)

haustgeirr 2018-08-15 15:27

Cute concept. Inventory management needs to be it's own genre of game. Once I got a feel for a good item value I empty each slot until a certain value item is achieved, then move to next one. Fun game.

nonimad 2018-08-15 16:29

891.157! Neat concept, I enjoyed getting a good inventory, but I feel lack it rely too much on patience to get good items. Great art and sound!

rustymonky 2018-08-15 17:13

Was hoping I'd find a game with this concept! Liked your art and sounds. I think the unsealing mechanic is refreshing, since it adds another level of depth. Nice work!

akeean 2018-08-15 17:46

Nice game, great overall package! You won't believe that an invetory manager was at the top of our idea list on Friday! :D

Could be a little more response when going from one item to another, there seems to be some delay when showing a different item and discarding it, causing players to miss items, so the best strategy is to keep cycling everything in the first slots till the very first slow has a high enough value, then go to the next one since it does not get more difficult in terms of pickup frequency over time.

Lovely icons and sounds!

gurbx 2018-08-15 21:52

Really cool game and a very interesting take on the theme! I think it should have been more clear that you need an unsealing scroll to unseal items, as I thought it was a bug at first until I checked the comments here. Other than that, I enjoyed it a ton! Good job!

zicboy 2018-08-15 23:48

Fun game! You should consider porting it to mobile.

hollandgeng 2018-08-17 09:33

Cool game, simple and straight forward. I like the idea

historymaker118 2018-08-18 12:29

Simple game with frustrating controls. Half the time my clicks were doing nothing and the game rarely registered a right click so I ended up with an inventory full of sealed items I could neither drop nor open. An interesting concept for a game, inventory management of finding the good loot is a core component of many rpgs and I enjoyed the idea of this game because of it. The graphics are nice, but the music is too repetitive and got very annoying very quickly. Not bad for a weekend's work, I would just make sure that your controls feel responsive first and foremost for your next game. Hope to see you back for the next jam having learned a lot from this experience, you've clearly got potential.

seizethedia 2018-08-18 12:39

Interesting idea! It got repetitive quick though! Once your inventory is full you're basically just have time to click on one item and before you're instantly full again. Maybe an option to jump over items might be cool, if you already know you don't want to grab it. The timer to register mouse clicks makes it seem unresponsive, so you might consider lowering the total time.

tasty-jose 2018-08-18 12:40

I am red-green colour blind so having more contrast between the colours would have done great for communication

harusame 2018-08-18 13:40

Nice concept, my best score is 786.

It's just a bit repetitive once your inventory is full.

I think sounds effects are a bit too loud.

folex70 2018-08-18 17:04

great idea. congrats for this work!

grahhhhhhhhh 2018-08-20 01:12

I was really pumped about the concept, but other people pointed out the struggle of the timing, and once the inventory got full, it was tough to get a leg back up. Something I need to do, but might help you as well is finding someone to play test prior to the deadline :)

chadrbanks 2018-08-28 01:38

This is legit fun, I love the addicting gameplay. Great work! If you expand on this, I would definitely be looking forward to it. I would like to see more items, maybe something like procedural item generation for instance. Additional game modes / mechanics would extend gameplay a lot. Could you also do random shop keepers that pop up, maybe kinda rare? Say they have room to buy a certain number of items, just a few or so and you have a timer to pick what you want to sell. Lots of places to go with this. Nice work!

hellsquirrel 2018-09-04 14:13

Nice game!
