RRRRRRRRRRRRRR THOSE SPIKES.
I ended up just rapidly firing instead of drawing the bow as it seemed more effective lol. Also, that's some p solid pixel art.
lol this is cute. I don't think I've had to fax something in like... at least 10 years. Everything seems to work. Also the art is really nice. Once I got the hang of it I could pump out those faxes like any orderly. Letting me pump them out fast should be commended, as many game jam interface like this tend to be a bit busted.
This game is nuts yo. Love it. I accidentally hit the 'R' key while mashing buttons to spawn dinosaurs once. Was expecting an "Uh oh it's Lu Bu!" moment.
This seems really cool, but the interface feels rather clunky, if not broken. I was able to chill to some sick chants+harp though for a min.
Super cool to see someone taking a crack an an action game in Unreal. It feels weird to say, but I think the third attack in the combo string, the rush forward thing, actually feels good lol. Did you guys do a lot of C++ to get this running or BP? Hope I can get to a point where I can throw together something like this in a weekend. It may be a little jank/busted, but that's p impressive. Nice work.
Is this suppose to be like that water drop between the eyes torture method?
That receptionist is creepy. I can't quite figure out what the artist behind the painting on the wall is trying to say. Looks like a dog, but also like the human condition.
Final Score: 260
Trippy. Shout outs to that audio, really sets a mood, and that goofy looking character. Not a veteran game designer here, but randomly generating maze stuff sounds p impressive, no idea how you did it. Walking on walls blows my mind in more ways than one. Was this stuff difficult to pull off?
That was p Zany. I'm trying to rally together some friends to try to make something with Ren'py. How was your experience cramming a project in a weekend with it?
There's some very impressive stuff going on here. Enemies seem to have some pretty good good path finding? Also, I believe getting mouse pointing controls like for an isometric game can be a little tricky? But you did it in a weekend so nice job. I also think you got a lot of mileage out of cubes for your art, it looks good. The audio stands out to me a lot as a problem though. Sounds original which is impressive, but it does not fit the mood. I think piano is not a good instrumentation choice for this game. I think robots demand synth (which was there I believe) and drums (which was not). Also, there is no other SFX, such as the player shooting or getting hit, which is an important part of player feedback for a bullet hell game like this. I only tried normal and below, but the difficulties seemed to only turn the enemies into bullet sponges? I think less difficulties with more testing/refinement is better than more difficulties with less testing/refinement. Overall, I think this is an impressive weekend project and hope you are proud of it.
Really good game. Definitely sucked me in. The graphics are simple, but I think you had enough style going on to make them still pretty fun, like the pirate ships flying around. The explanation for how to play was a little confusing, but I just played and figured it out. Got into a scenario where I couldn't pull a guy out of my engine that was on fire to repair it with my trained repair guy, so the guy in the engine room kept failing the repair check for like 6+ rounds and we never made it back to earth :( Great music too. Weirdly effective and fitting despite sounding pretty short and repetitive for a game that lasts a while. Good job.
The UI seems broken? I cannot exit the upgrade menus except by returning to the main menu, which resets the game. Looking at the name of the game, I have to wonder if this is a rather elaborate joke? Sure is pretty. 10/10 if planned.
This is a solid space shooter. I'm p jealous actually 'cause I made one a few months back and it's nowhere as good (I spent way longer than a weekend on it). Dang. I like your color choice, it's refreshing to fly a space ship in pinks and teals with pigs and fruit flying at me. Everything was really silly, in a good way. I was a little surprised that the game seems well balanced, but I think there needs to be better player feedback when the ship gets hits, like a SFX. Also, I thought your bananas were reppuukens at first.
I told a friend I was watching a skateboarding dog from a car window because my gameboy batteries died. He asked if I was losing it. I sent him a screenshot. He asked for the game. Fin. Good job.
I like this game. Visually it is very simple, but the style and color choice works very well. The SFX and music is surprisingly enjoyable for how zany it is. The gameplay feels a little more tedious than puzzle-y, seems like the player pretty much has to go back to the charger after grabbing any of the trash?
This is pretty cool. Def in the spirit of simulation games. I played with controller, and I think most flight sim games would have inverted controls for pitch though? Took me a bit to adjust to it. I think it controls well (and probably appropriately difficult), but it was a little irritating to pass the dock and have to spend so long thrusting to reverse my velocity, although I'm sure the astronaut actually piloting this thing would be much more patient in the initial approach than I was. Game is a visual and atmospheric treat and I enjoyed my time with it.
Mwahahaha. You're a clever man, but I'm more clever-er. I defeated both your levels. Not using a platform for the middle part of level 2 was tricky, but I figured it out. I think you made a mostly solid puzzle/platformer. My biggest gripe is the level design. It seems like there is an intended order to solve the puzzles, but looks like the player has a choice in the order. The sprint seems unnecessary for this kind of game, although it is required for solving stage 2. The enemies seem to stop moving after initially tracking you? Not very threatening. Robot man guy (the robot we play as) controls mostly well, I think his turn around is a problem for moving on some of these tighter platforms. Also, some jammin' beats are missin' from this game. Don't forget that music. This is a pretty solid compo entry float-y 3D platformmer, which is quite a feat 'cuz IMO 3D platforming is pretty hard to make feel good. You did it in a weekend. *clap*
Scored 375.00 bones yo. This game is dope. Great 3D models, especially for a weekend. Just looks really good in general. Chose a great palette and stuck with it. The car feels very skilly (I made that word up just for this game) but could still probably use a little more adjusting to make going fast feel better? Also, feel like some audio is missing for like the car when it skids an takes off etc. Overall, very solid.
Congratulations on finishing your first jam! This is a pleasant game. I think it is impressive you managed to rig and animate an animal model in a weekend, especially if it isn't your forte, and also put the rest of the game together. I think your environment is nice. The transition between desert and oasis is very good. It has a pleasant feeling. The gameplay is there, but seems a bit buggy. The food counter did not go up when I ate the gazelle, but I did not die when it reached 0? The cheetah feels actually pretty fun, I really like the feeling of the drift. I feel like it would be more fun if there were less gazelle and the chase was a bit trickier and lasted longer? I hope you feel much more confidant in your skills after this project.
I think your use of audio was great. Sometimes the game would seem to chug but maybe that's just accurate to playing games on a phone? lol
This is very relaxing. I actually had an enjoyable time just trying to figure the game out lol. It was satisfying when I started to get stuff to interact, like when I dragged the orbs to the boxes and they burned down. I think with some more time for level design to help explain the game properties, this could be really interesting. Good job! Also, did you use probuilder to make the level assets? It looks good. Oh and nice touch getting controller support in.
Haha, that was fun. Pretty simple, but I like the eventual twist where the strategy seems to leave humans behind in order to save the others?! lol ...or maybe that's just my own dark tactic...
@jose-rodriguez Haha Thanks! But Uh... I'm not sure if this will run (well) in HTML5? lol.
@bustosman That's pretty good! I think my best time for this build was around 1:46, so it's a bit tough, but I think it's do-able to go for several minutes. Thanks for the feedback!
@belphegor @liven @craigduth @cranestyle @g4mr @bustosman @kptemre @haveaniceday @jktransformers Hey everyone, thanks very much for giving my game a shot, and I appreciate the feedback. I understand the criticism, but for now I have made another build that gives the player 5x health. This should let players just mess around with the combat more. I tried to put a lot of work into animation transitions, attack properties, etc, but unfortunately it's hard to explore as I kind of overdid it on the general game difficulty. For example, I made the enemies meatier to let you do longer combos, but it seems that backfired on the "fun" factor lol.
Anyway, if you want to give it another shot, the build is at the top. Thanks!
@realmar MORE COMBOS?! I like this guy. The cubes are a particle effect, a big one for the background and a smaller, more dense effect for the stage.
@monstr I'm glad you think it feels good even without player feedback like SFX / hit particles. I focused on working on that part and had to cut SFX towards the end due to the nature of jams, unfortunately. Maybe I can pull it off next time now that I have a better idea of what I'm doing?! *Ambition intensifies*
Thanks for playing!
@nam-nguyen Thanks for the great feedback, really appreciate your comments on the lighting / visuals. Thanks for checking it out!
These are some dope beats! Really love the visuals. Gameplay takes some adjusting but overall good.
Yeah, I agree with Flash. It's a bit dense to play, even with your instructions on this page. It sounds like an interesting idea? Mad props for making a game in this genre for a game jam. I understand you not getting a build out until the very end lol.
You won the Ludum Dare forever
Cool idea. Good audio (great Smash impression? btw). Could be some quick fun with multiplayer / more content (levels).
Hey man, this is a pretty good action game! I like that you added the timer to the attack to prevent mashing, which adds more timing to the game, which makes this jam game a cut above similar games mechanically. I think for this particular game where we are running away, a little more reach might feel better. I like that the zone moves around, but since there are no obstacles besides the walls / spawners, it doesn't make the game as interesting as it could be. I think simply adding more obstacles and aids to the arena would greatly improve the game. Overall, good job!
This is a pretty pleasant and fun game! I enjoyed my time with it. I'm not sure how long it goes on for, I think the level needs more distinction in between segments. I didn't realize I had a double jump until I had to leap from the elevator (thank goodness). My longest run ended like this...

I beat it on normal! This game is legit cool. Shooting feels good with the slow velocity bullets, especially aiming down the sites. Good job getting that recoil in. The game is just in dire need of SFXs. For an FPS, I think you should also try to get a little post processing in to help with the chaotic atmosphere.
This game is awesome. It's really fun and silly. Wish you guys had time to get some SFX in, I think that would've sealed the deal. I wasn't able to beat the monster in my several attempts. I also never got a Miku drop, just a bunch of stormtroopers! Threw 'em away!
I scored a 12, then got to 46 (so 34 high score). Good job! Congrats on the first LD and this is a solid jam game. I think the idea is good, you just need to build on it to make it more exciting, like more than 1 enemy spawning, and more events like the hammer guy. Great job on the art, too. Looks great!
Your game taught me I'd be an awful librarian. Nice choice of music. I think the game should be quicker to be a little more hectic-ly fun.
I won! Pretty cool?! Good SFXs, not entirely sure what was going on some of the time (like the lasers). Was cool when all the blocks started to float away - think I won right before I would've fallen?
My highest score is 36! Pretty cool idea! I think the art is great, too - very silly. I think the game should escalate a bit faster.

I played until it zoomed into a pixel :) lol (and then it started to zoom back out). The knights were no match for me mashing all four directions at the same time (I bet they didn't expect that level of archery from a man with a crossbow). I think this is a good idea, just needs more time for balancing and some juice. Good job!
This is rad. I felt like I was taking a trip back to N64 lol. Really dig the art, feel, and music. Not sure what's going on with the character's hitbox (for the attack) feels a little unresponsive. Also, something I learned this LD, in mecanim, you can create an "override" layer, then create a layermask, and you can tell it to only animate the character's upper body. If you play attack anims on this layer, you can have your character play their running animation while also attacking! It turned out to be a lot simpler than it sounds...
The graphics, UI, and SFX/Audio in this are killer. Great job, and some good jokes (I guess the the Dr's accent is throwing some shade at kaspersky?). I got the first key, but after that I went into some infinite folder hell that I could not seem to get out of.
Cool game, that's some simple fun! Could be adapted to an interesting mobile project? Seems like a solid idea, but needs some more design, (more items - Maybe one of those butt sprayers (bidet?) to change the flow). I think the pacing can become too fast or too slow with the water speed currently. Interesting, overall!
I scored 3477! This is a neat game. I think it is plenty challenging, but should ramp up a bit faster. I also think the player should have an extra means of attack, like missiles they can buy from the store that hit harder. to help clean out the meatier enemies. Great job with the visuals, too. Overall solid game.
I planted some crops and made some money. I think the alien menace should be a constant threat, or scale faster. I'm kind of into the idea of space astronaut mars pickle farming. More... pleasant? than I imagined.
Cool web game, reminds me of a silly game I'd find on like newgrounds back in the day. Think the idea is solid, but just needs some more juice to stay exciting, like others are saying, gets more exciting when your inventory is almost full. I'd like to see the player character start using / equipping the items as he runs. Megaman guy is dope btw.
Congrats on your first LD! Good work with the art, sounds like you worked alone, so pretty impressive you managed to throw it together with some code, too. I think this could be a lot more enjoyable if you just cranked it up and had these ghosts spawning faster. Also, since they are white, you can give them a random color when they spawn to add some more color to the game, if it's what you're going for.
This game is RAD! Feels like I'm jamming on a keyboard (the musical kind) with the dope music. I like how, even if I start losing, the dope beat just picks up lol. I think my highest score was 900ish? The UI covers up the score at the end. Overall this is pretty solid. I think it's a bit easy to keep the aliens isolated at the top, but when they finally break through it gets wild. Good job!
Hey @cranestyle thanks for the feedback. My best run was 367 seconds. This is a very pleasant game, kind of therapeutic. I think you pulled off what you were after with the movement - it feels nice. Sorry to hear about your partner, but I think what you have is still good - gameplay first for games, right? I think the simplest iteration to improve this is by just having more levels of different shapes.
Congrats on your first LD! This is a cool idea. Natural events are in city builders are kind of notorious, but I think having a danger like asteroids constantly hitting my city is fun lol. Does that make me a bad mayor?
