Nice job! I've survived 20 waves. The intro is a bit long and I think that some sprites don't show properly if they kill you or not. It's so fun to play and an amazing job considering it to be developed in under 72 hours.

I scored 3477! This is a neat game. I think it is plenty challenging, but should ramp up a bit faster. I also think the player should have an extra means of attack, like missiles they can buy from the store that hit harder. to help clean out the meatier enemies. Great job with the visuals, too. Overall solid game.
I liked all the little ship and planet icons, and it was really satisfying to destroy them. It made a good sound effect.
The surrounding colourful noise type graphic was kind of hard on the eyes though. The upgrade menu was a little hard to see, too. Probably would've been nicer if they were darker, or had some sort of backing.
The receding boarder effect was nice too.
Nice entry!
Well done. I like the consistent feel achieved with the sounds and visuals.
Two thoughts: Game-play could benefit from some indication when an enemy takes damage. The shots felt a little empty. Maybe make the pause menu look more like a shop button for those of us who are lazy and skipped all tutorials hah.
Thank you very much for your feedback.
Actually, we have an upgrade-system implemented. Just pause and upgrade. Hope you enjoy :) @jeke
One question: Why is there pizza attacking a crystal in mid space? :id:
Nice game, had a joy playing it
That was trippy :D . The noise around the edge was a bit sore on the eyes, think maybe if it was slightly transparent it wouldn't be as bad. But other than that, it was fun. Was out smarted by mini pizzas numerous times, spinning in circles making a fool of myself.
Player, enemy etc graphics were very nice, as well as the audio.
Funny game! I enjoyed the Audio so much that I had it playing in the background while writing. Well done!!
The topic is running out of space not space
Fun stuff, I thought the pixel noise would drive me crazy but it was cool. I thought the game was broken though when I shot at stuff and it didn't die. Took me a second to understand they had health, but no indicator like on the boss. The menu screen was hard to read because of the white background with low alpha. Overall I had fun playing. Controlled well and cool graphics.
We know. That's why you are running out of space when the core gets attacked. :) @SkyreX
Pretty cool graphics even though too much colors for my eyes XD. Simple and effective gameplay!
For me (Firefox, MacOS), the intro text just keeps cycling through and I never got to play the game but it looks super interesting!
Its a overall funny game but it would be more intense if the space would get constantly smaller so you have to hurry
@ezra-lafleur You don't see the skip button? Otherwise, just try to use an other browser or reload the page.
Soo colourful . But without kidding was quite a fun defender game. I applaud that you added music but it hot a bit repetative so next time you might want to add a mute button
Nice game ! Quit surprising !
@mosaic Ah of course! Worked when I loaded it in Safari!
Nice one! Good idea with the expansion and contraction mechanism and superb music! Got to wave 8 before getting handkerchieved.
This game is solid in pretty much all aspects. The music feel pretty repetitive though; it doesn't really make me feel hyped to prevent the end of the universe. However, the controls feel great, the upgrades you can buy are fun, and the growing/shrinking mechanic with the core crystals looks really really good. Possibly the best I've played so far for LD42!
I like the variety of enemies in this game. I like smooth ship control. And the game intro very impressive it similar to one of the best games for ZX-Spectrum.
The intro was a bit long, but the game is quite feature-rich and fun.
Nice set of mechanics and variety! I felt the wave difficulty would probably have ramped a little faster, but that's shmups for you. One man's too hard is another's too easy.
Echoing the comments on the music, but otherwise everything else fits together quite nicely.
Overall had quite a bit of fun. Great work!
Nice! I would suggest adding more effect when damaging enemies and collecting coins and diamonds to make them feel less empty. Also, the noise at the border is quite distracting, if not making me dizzy.
Nice game, I hope to see more updates and improvments sooner. If you don't bother take a look at our game when we focused on Graphics and visuals and see the results that we got: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/spacelab-42
