The game does a good job of telling the story and felt very polished. Good job.
Well done on the game. It was a lot of fun to play. The only time the mechanic confused me we right at the start when I didn't know what way was down in 2D mode. Good job on that.
The controls felt clunky especially around boulder parts. I did manage to beat the game however it felt like a lot of clicking the "z" key without not much thought behind it.
The art did a good job of setting the mood. The tiles didn't mesh together very well but other then that I liked the art.
A difficult game with good art. I had fun playing but couldn't finish it. I only ever died to the instant death spikes.
@TrickFishPie Thanks for trying to help. I did manage to get a web player working using Google Drive.
@stephenhaney Yep, I waited way to long to add a sane UI and ended up running out of time. The two buttons with circles don't even do anything.
I am planning on making a update once the competition is over that, at the very least, gets rid of some bugs and adds slightly saner UI.
Good job on the game.
Other then a few bugs with the collisions, the only thing I can complain about is that I wanted a better indication of when the (de)buffs where about to run out.
The game was interesting. Though, there wasn't a lot of information on what things were and the blind area around the character wasn't the most intuitive.
The game is fun if playing as intended. The audio is great. My biggest problem with the game is that by using total time as a score system, the best strategy is to not shoot anything and stay on level 1.
Great game. The music and gameplay are awesome. I had fun playing it.
A short but well put together game. My only complaint is that there are a few bugs when rotating such as squares not showing up if they are grabbed.
The randomness gets annoying at some points. Other then that I had fun playing it. I got a highscore of 27.
Well I spent way to long playing this, over a hour and multiple games won. To break some of the main points down:
Information:
The game does not appear to tell me what to do. However, I consider this is both a good and bad thing. It is bad in that some things felt like needed to be explained. Like if I needed to protect the tower or what made the spawn grow larger. On the other hand, trying to figure out what strategy worked best kept me playing and, if I was just told what everything did, I would have probable breezed through the game and not bothered with a playing any more.
Game-play:
I liked having to attack the smaller towns or random villagers in order to level up to the point of attacking the castle. It did feel strange that you would be instantly killed or be near mortal.
Overall:
The game was probably to big but even with the cut features .
Also, I almost completed the "Unwinnable" mode but the game became to slow to finish(It was taking several seconds to just attack). That might have had something to do with the 500,000 enemies.
Good job on the game.
The combat system was simple but well done. It got harder fairly fast and the upgrades didn't just make you immortal.
Overall a very good entry.
The last level can be completed.
The orbs can be destroyed with your gun (It takes 10 shots) but can only be damaged if the cheat code is not being held down when the bullet hits the orb (The code makes everything invincible not just you).
The logic portion of the game was good. The controls and information needed to be better. I am still not sure why I could go over some of the gaps but not others and it took a minute to realize that there was more then one way to kill the glowing eyes.
The game-play is fun but does not appear to get any harder as the game goes on. If the difficulty scaled faster I would consider this to be a good avoider game.
I got a top score of 7400.
Cool game. The sound effects were defiantly the best part. The game did start to get repetitive near the end but I quickly enough that it didn't matter. The only thing that felt missing was a sell button.
Cool game. I like the concept of attaching the weapons at new angle but it ended up hard to get the weapons pointing in the direction I wanted.
I am impressed at how much you got done of the art. Good job.
Other then the game being dark and hard to see some enemies, a very good entry. I liked all the small touches you managed to fin into the game. Good job.
Nice game and good graphics. I would have liked it if the airplane mode was more useful. It never seemed to have a good use due to the sensitive controls and the gliding mode did the same job in most cases.
Really cool game. I just wish it was a bit easier. To me, it looks like the game is suffering from desinc. After about 30 seconds, the music on the title screen was playing in between the visual beats.
Other then not being able to make a long run, the game is very fun. I ended up playing for a hour even with the bug.
Thanks for the comments so far. Glad to see that people like the idea even with the controls not being the best.
Cool game. I liked the sort of co-op game play but would have liked some way to call the blob instead of trying to stay between the too close and too far away distance.
The gameplay was simple but worked. The art was good. Well done on the game.
Cool game. My only complaint was it took a few tries to realize how the triangle form was being aimed.
Good job on the art and game play. Defiantly a good entry especially for your first time entering a game jam.
Cool game. The controls were simple and the game was challenging. I did find that the levels were mostly identical and would have liked some more variation.
Cool game I had fun playing it. I did find it a bit hard to figure out what I was meant to do at the start.
Interesting game but I did run into problems when playing it. I couldn't figure out what way to go on most levels and the button on the last level wouldn't work. However, it is cool to see that you made a stealth game. Good job.
Interesting concept and well executed. I enjoyed playing the game.
Cool game and I liked the art but I found the gameplay had some problems such as door being slow to shut giving no time for me to react to an incoming shot. I did manage to beat the game.
Interesting idea but the game does feel a bit lacking without any other mechanics. What level you had where easy but fun.
The controls where hard to figure out. I think just explaining how to play and what things do would have helped more. Just explaining that you could click on the scrap that was flying by would help a lot. I liked the art and music.
I liked the art. Landing the ship was a little easy. Putting a limit on the max horizontal speed when landing could help and give more use for rotating.
I liked the concept but found the game to be too punishing and not challenging enough. Blocking meant the only threat was the pits.
I did beat the game and found it fun.
The game was interesting. Playing greedily appeared to be optimal strategy. I did find the layout of the board a bit confusing. I liked being able to tell where the numbers were in relation to each other and the spiral pattern made that hard.
I liked the idea of the controls but found using them to be weird. I had some problems with getting stuck right on the border of two lines. Most of the issues I ran into were to do with trying to maintain enough height to get over the spikes. Having to release and press the button when I moved into a square to continue hovering and pressing an against square stopping hovering got me far more than going too slow. It might have worked better if hovering was just tied to having the button down instead of when it is pressed. That way you have more control over when to stop hovering.
Siding along a large flat plane was fun. Being able to build up a lot of speed when timing key presses correctly worked well.
Interesting mechanic. I had a bit of trouble telling where the items were. It might have worked better if the water was transparent.
The game was fun but there was a lot of waiting for blocks to fall or for to be given a new block. It also wasn't clear what the different blocks did. A better description about your goal might have helped as well as a way to speed up falling blocks.
I liked the tradeoff from pushing the firefly to attack leaving you more vulnerable. It is a neat twist that added some complexity with how you play.
I liked trying to see how much I could fit in the backpack and having to carry around a object while looking to see if there was something better to swap what I had with.
