didnt really understand what to do or the buttons and the game style wasnt really for me however i think it has potential with better graphics and more in depth gameplay, cheers!

furkanfs 2017-08-01 08:45

Nice graphics and i think its a cool game. Its just pretty hard to understand how to play it. There area no clear instructions anywhere..

miro662 2017-08-01 08:48

It might be a nice game, but I don't have an idea how to gather resources or which building is responsible for what.

stlunatick 2017-08-01 08:48

How do you avoid the astroids? Game is pretty fun.

will-goad 2017-08-01 08:49

Im not gonna rate because i dont understand it i get the first building then i cant pick up any of the stuff coing throught the sky

ljn 2017-08-01 08:49

The ending reminds me a lot of Perrybible worship comics. The world itself however reminds me of Samorost. I couldn't figure out how to actually get more energy, I always run out before I can craft something that would do that.

I get it that I can pick up the scrap that's flying around the sky, but I can't grab the stars? It's very confusing. Maybe it's a problem with the web version?

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-01 08:49

@stlunatic you need to build shields :)

xero560 2017-08-01 08:54

The UI seems broken? I cannot exit the upgrade menus except by returning to the main menu, which resets the game. Looking at the name of the game, I have to wonder if this is a rather elaborate joke? Sure is pretty. 10/10 if planned.

arnage 2017-08-01 08:56

Could definitely use some instructions! If you didn't have time to include them in the game, please add some to the description page to help your players. As it stands you tend to be unsure whether features are missing or you just don't know what you're doing as a player :)

Minor bugs: - In the webplayer you can't close an upgrade window without switching to full screen. - Upgrade windows don't block clicks, so you can click on stuff hidden behind them.

mcjammydodger 2017-08-01 08:58

After playing this game for a while now, I still don't know what I'm supposed to do. I think I have to collect the bits of scraps to make resources to build parts of the ship but it's not clear. A tutorial or a simple explanation of how parts of the game worked would have been nice. A menu that shows the amount of each resource I had would also be nice.

I don't understand what each part of the ship does. I managed to build the hanger but had no idea what the numbers meant. Each time I played my ship blew up because it was running low on energy. The game looks like it could be fun, but I can't tell if I don't know how to play. Maybe add a description of how to play on this page would help a lot.

The audio and visuals were nice though.

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-01 08:58

@arnage it will be added today to this post sorry for this :) [Edit] added! :)

emery 2017-08-01 10:21

Fun game, but could use some instructions because i did not totally understand the concept or how it works

3mpty 2017-08-01 10:24

No idea what's going on but the art is pretty nice. Really liked the comic panel that popped up randomly (was that gameover lol?)

Wish it didn't make a PEW PEW PEW sound every 2 seconds though

hgcummings 2017-08-01 10:28

Nice graphics and music! I think I understood what I wanted to do: Build modules to gather resources and build better modules, but I couldn't work out how to capture any of the scrap flying past, or even how to steer the spacestation at all (no keyboard keys or mouse interactions seemed to do anything). With clearer controls and a bit more progression options would be a fun game.

nordtraveller 2017-08-01 10:36

Really nice strategy game, with simple graphic. I like it.

mrerdalural 2017-08-01 10:49

Took me a while to understand what to do in this game. Artwork is amazing. I loved the game over comic you made for the game too.

Thank you for the game!

tomdev 2017-08-01 11:00

It was hard to understand what to do, but after that I find out one good game, the art is the best thing in this game, some instructions could help the gameplay to be better, but I liked the game

speedysloth99 2017-08-01 11:22

It is very hard to understand, so I think it would be massively improved with a tutorial, or even just an introduction on the game page, but once you get it it is very fun! I love how the music really adds to the mood!

shito 2017-08-01 11:44

Yeah, it would have been nice to have a tutorial. Took me some time to understand something. What I got so far: You can click on the asteroids to gather scraps and exchange the scraps with the Alchemy to resources. One can exit upgrade menus with escape. However, one looses energy quite fast. But, I found now a good way to survive the problem. In the beginning don't build anything just collect scraps. Then wait for the big asteroid coming on the left where one can build a energy mine (it collects energy on its own). This is needed for building the solar panel. As soon you see the asteroid build the Alchemy and convert the necessary resources for a solar panel. After you have a solar panel start to convert energy crystals into energy. With that I was able to survive the energy loss. I even got to states where I had over 100%. :D However, at some point the big asteroid on the left crashed down onto the earth. I still got energy from my energy mine that brought be to some point where I could not run out of energy any more. ^^

shito 2017-08-01 11:44

Edit: Doublepost, due to lagging website. Sorry for that.

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-01 11:50

@everybody thanks for good words :)

pfeyffer 2017-08-01 13:20

Uh, nice work. I like the graphics and the sound is not all bad. Without any instructions it is really hard to figure out what to do. Click on Space debris to collect it (only the debris works, not the shooting stars or the unicorns). Build the alchemy thing to convert debris to resources. I did not get much further because stuff kept crashing into my space station. But there is a nice visual ending.

krishnasism 2017-08-01 13:44

Nice work with the graphics and sound. Although, I had some trouble with the game. Couldn't understand it properly at the beginning. Hope you include a proper help or instructions screen. :) Otherwise, it's a good game. Good job. I liked the concept.

jolix 2017-08-01 13:52

Nice parody :) The atmospheric music suits the game. The art is great and the game runs smoothly for WebGL. In the beginning I was clicking on everything and mashing keyboard keys, so I would advice giving some instructions.

fingamer 2017-08-01 14:46

At first it's quite confusing. I couldn't find any instructions. But when I figured out how to play it turned out to be pretty nice little game. The atmosphere and graphics are nice.

Overall it's a good entry.

almostcthulhu 2017-08-01 15:08

The atmosphere of the game was very nice and I think the music really helps to create that. The concept of wizards in space is quite unique, which I liked. I managed to upgrade everything fully, but I couldn't discern an end goal. The graphics could have done with a bit of work but other than that, the game feels quite satisfying to play.

prettylucky 2017-08-01 15:37

Instructions would have been nice, but getting the hang of it after a few deaths was fun, too! I played the Web version and there weren't sound effects to let me know when I crafted things. And the first time that ship comes, I thought he was friendly, but then he wasn't lol.

Overall cool game, and the title theme was chill as heck:)

p-dude 2017-08-01 15:39

The idea is nice and the mood is relaxing, but the game is too obtuse and the UI is not very user-friendly. The entire game is mouse-driven except I can’t go back to the central gameplay screen without hitting Escape; the only button goes back to the main menu. A tutorial would have helped a lot, or at least a very easy beginning to allow the player to explore the mechanics and figure out what is happening. Also the game is spelled wrong on the title screen.

matoux42 2017-08-01 17:01

Hard to understand and to begin, but still fun and cool game. Great job !

ohmaigawd 2017-08-01 17:08

I like the concept its really relaxing to play, you would just need to make the UI more clear and put your inventory on the game screen (it was weird going back everytime i needed to build). In the webplayer you can’t close an upgrade window without going to the main menu.

michael-feldman 2017-08-01 17:59

This game did some things well, and others very well. In the latter, we have a great color palette both for the space station as well as the UI for the elements. I like how each serves their own purpose and it's kind of a race against the clock. One other thing it did very well was entice the user to keep playing. The losses left me feeling like there was more to explore, like I had to see what would happen if I got both shields activated or upgraded the solar panel. Sure enough, eventually I was able to upgrade the whole shebang, and like a previous poster said, exceed the 100% energy output. Some things it does well are audio, the music was really nice as with the SFX. The graphics for the objects like coal, diamonds, and crystals are great. And lastly it's well put together in the sense that you can play it over and over again until you figure out what's going on ;) Best of luck.

daydreamerstudios 2017-08-01 18:16

Nice game! The graphic and the audio are really good. The cutscene when the castle has no lifepoints left is also a great idea!

amigopadilha 2017-08-01 19:10

The modules graphics were neat and I liked the game music. It was kinda hard to gather resources (or I didn't undertand it very well), and having to click the main module to see what you have or not wasn't really good imo. But the game idea was nice.

Great job!

samuli-salonen 2017-08-01 19:11

it's a solid resource management game, i kinda like it.

I think you should give feedback to the player if you don't have the resources to build something, at the start i thought the game was having issues until i realised i don't have the resources.

I love the art & music.

Good job!

josehzz 2017-08-01 19:15

It was hard to understand what to do, I keep clicking everything that came, thought the cows were special :)

bombjack 2017-08-01 19:51

could have been fun but I was not able to get back to the station when I clicked on a building

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-01 20:00

@bombjack sorry for this, if you want to come back just press "Escape". I think that exiting mechanics could have been done better by me :(

jonathan-turner 2017-08-01 22:07

As others have said, I couldnt figure out what to do. I saw that clicking on parts of the ship got you into an upgrade window, and that the upgrade cost a certain amount of materials, but I didnt know how many materials I had or how to get more.

I think the graphics and sound were very good for a jam.

The UI in general was really good.

I just didnt know what to do for the gameplay.

ada 2017-08-01 22:41

It took me some time to figure out how to play. Maybe list of gained resources on the main screen would help a little. You have to look and count - you miss scrap and that necessarily means you lose. It is quite hard to play.

dragwa 2017-08-01 22:57

Amazing graphic art and music. Zajebiste :D

zgragselus 2017-08-02 00:58

UI is great, although it is missing a tutorial, took me quite a bit of time to figure everything out.

Material status could be written on main screen.

naya-rangel 2017-08-02 01:24

Cool game! It took me a while to understand how to gather resources and start building modules. I think the resources quantity could be somewhere on the main screen, it was kind hard to remember how much I had of each resource while building/upgrading my station. Overall great job!

shaolin-dave 2017-08-02 05:17

In-game tutorial would be helpful, maybe a little more thought into the UI.

harrelix 2017-08-02 05:39

It took me ages to figure out what to do, but at the end, I built and upgraded every module. For those who still don't know what to do, here's a guide to help you: - Click on floating items to collect them. - Build the crafting module first. - To quit upgrade menu: turn on fullscreen to review the quit button "X" or simply press ESC. - To craft: Click on the item icon when you have enough scrap. - Build the Greenhouse. - If you see a floating giant platform, press on the build on the right (energy mine) and build it. After the platform explode, item will drop and you can click on the items. - Build the Hangar module and upgrade it. - To trade: Click on the Hangar and wait until the small plane arrives, then click buy to buy the item you want to buy if you have enough scrap, then wait again until the the plane leaves. My suggestion is to buy some gemstone for the solar panels. - After building the solar panel, you're pretty much done, your energy will raise rapidly.

Of course, this guide will not always work but anyway, great game!

pcmaster 2017-08-02 05:45

Czesc! Holy flying cow! :D After a moment I figured out how to play, YOU MUST CLICK THE FLYING THINGS (except for the cow and stars and "attacking ships") AND IT ADDS SCRAP. THEN YOU CLICK BUILDINGS AND IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH, YOU CAN BUILD SOME!

I tried several times but still didn't manage to get to building shields, asteroids or attackers came too soon.

sir-daniev 2017-08-02 05:49

Interesting management game. The cool zen music was a really good match for it. The only thing that it needed was a good tutorial.

rakugakid 2017-08-02 06:36

Same as many of the other people in the comments, I don't really get what is going on, more instructions on controls/how to play would have been good

pauljs 2017-08-02 07:21

Nice management game. I think the game would be better if the inventory was not on one of the module but directly on the interface of the game. The game is too hard because of that and need to always do back and forth. Except that the game is really nice ! Nice graphics and music, everything has a certain charm. Lovely game !

carsen-d 2017-08-02 07:32

As others have said, it is a bit confusing to figure out how to really start, and I think it would be a lot more helpful if you could see your inventory at all times. Still a pretty neat management/resource game!

aj-weeks 2017-08-02 07:53

Interesting ideas presented here, but the UI could have been a bit better. I would have liked to be able to see my inventory at all times, and see clearly that a structure can be built or upgraded with the supplies I have currently, rather than checking each amount. I liked the chill background music and the comic-style ending was neat.

johngun 2017-08-02 09:14

I liked it, but had a bit of problems with the UI, getting stuck there. Nice gameplay, very well done. Good job

mrnannings 2017-08-02 10:25

I'm not sure how to play it. I know how to buy something, i found out you can return with ESC. Everything does look nice and the sounds are good.

mr-houdini 2017-08-02 11:05

Once I understood how to play it, it was cool! Add some information in the Ludum Dare description and you got it! Good luck!

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-02 11:11

@mr-houdini I've added some information to the description, hope it will help a little.

retr0verse 2017-08-02 11:43

Little confusing as to what to do even with description, I also suddenly lost? I think? Anyway, music and art are really good! :v:

anatei 2017-08-02 11:50

Interested game, but difficult to understand how to play)

pedro-miranda 2017-08-02 11:52

Cool idea and I like the feel of it. But while playing via the HTML link some portion of the screen didn't appeared, thus, it took me a long time before figuring out that I could mine the asteroid (that fell on earth right after I've built the mining station xD ) Also when I upgraded my trading station the items on the right were off screen. And for some reason I could not upgrade my solar panel, it consumed the items needed but nothing happend. But this is just my kind of game and I had a lot of fun while playing it. Great Job!

rhythmlynx 2017-08-02 12:42

The general vibe of this is really nice. Controls were confusing at first but got the hang of it, my major issue is that it's a resource management game where you can only see your resources hidden in a menu. There's a lot of good things going on but it's all just a bit frustrating trying to buy things and not knowing how much of things you have. Similarly for making things in the alchemy lab, I can't see how much of each resource I have and kept forgetting how many of each thing I needed and how many I had already made.

The death cutscene was brilliant btw, great music for it too.

filippy 2017-08-02 13:14

reaaaally nice crafting/building system, also gotta love those meme names

unnamed1334 2017-08-02 13:49

The controls where hard to figure out. I think just explaining how to play and what things do would have helped more. Just explaining that you could click on the scrap that was flying by would help a lot. I liked the art and music.

markwolf 2017-08-02 13:53

When I read the comments of other players, it seems this game has a deep ad interesting gameplay. But I am to noob to get the most of it. Cannot figure out the command by myself. Would love to play it again when there will be a page about game controls and command. I like the graphics that reminds me of Discworld. And the music is so nice !

ursagames 2017-08-02 14:25

Very challenging at the start to keep from losing conditions. I did enjoy the losing sequence the first couple of times, but getting back into the game quicker would have been nice after multiple failures. Excellent audio and atmosphere!

yetman 2017-08-02 14:39

I like the sound of that game, feels mesmerizing. As already mentioned, my problem is also with mechanics, I started to understand some things after some time, but I eventually lost hope and quit. I truly believe a tutorial or some visual cues on what should be done would be helpful.

elliottd 2017-08-02 15:31

Really nice entry. Very relaxing and engaging. I was confused about functionality (sorry, i rushed in without reading). I think things could have been cleared up a bit by making more information (resource counts) visible on most of the screens. Alternately, some feedback for actions indicating changes in resources would be good. I thought catching scrap with a trackpad or mouse was too precise and challenging, which detracted from the mood, but I bet it would feel really good with touch input. Good work

connor-hagan 2017-08-02 15:31

Really fun game, but I struggled a lot trying to stay alive. By the time the asteroid with the mining stations on it passes, I usually end up getting killed by meteors and space ships. Maybe tone down the rate at which those things come in, because as of right now I found it to be really tight on timing.

Also I found myself clicking main menu way to much and losing my progress. It should be a little more intuitive that escape exits a screen.

Also one tiny bug: you can click on buildings through the different building screens.

fedor 2017-08-02 15:39

Great game, it's hard at the begining to get how to play and what i should do to not lose. Nice art and music. Sometimes I couldn't catch scraps. Well done!!

aleal-dev 2017-08-02 15:51

I really didn't understand how to play this game. I collected space crap by clicking on it and built the laboratory-like building but I didn't find find out what to do next (apart from laughing at flying cows...)

Very nice looking game though. I really liked the music too.

nerdyherbivore 2017-08-02 15:56

I really like the artwork, especially the falling rainbow cow. Just like most people, I found the game play a tad confusing. Reading other comments, I think it may be because I was in the web version and did not notice the asteroid mines until much later. The description helped, I was just never able to get enough materials to build a shield in time. I also was unable to collect the stars and cows, not sure if this was intentional. This is a really great concept and I think making the ships and asteroids cause less damage would help. As soon as I felt like I had enough materials and mines, I would be destroyed. Lastly, please make a "back" button on the upgrade menu. I know it was the esc button, but sooooo many times I accidentally reset my game by clicking menu. :\

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-02 16:02

@nerdyherbivore, we know, we just didn't finished in time, stars and cows are not collectable :). Sorry for difficulty level, we tested it and fought it was ok. Once again sorry for bad design of "back" button.

roguenoodle 2017-08-02 16:07

I'm really into the concept of this game, but found the UI a little too finicky for me to get into the game itself. I think it's mostly trying to remember what resources I need to build a specific building, and then jumping into another window to see if I have them (by which point, I've already forgotten). Always displaying the resources you have would be a big help, and possibly having smaller, modal windows to display the interface for each building (as opposed to filling the screen). I hope you continue with this post jam - would love to play a version with a more polished UI :)

jsmcag 2017-08-02 17:16

While a respectable management game, I found the UI to be in need of a lot of work. In particular, I find the decision of only listing how many resources I have in the hangar to be incredibly frustrating, forcing me to jump around the hangar screen and the various modules screens in order to do anything. Add the fact that the resources have different orders in different screens, and it really confuses the player.

It'd be far more sensible, and would result in a better game, if the resources you have were always listed in the top or side of the screen - check how other games have done it, and you'll see that in games where resource management is a key component of the gameplay, the resources and their quantities are always available for the player to check, even in different screens.

As it stands, this really hurts the game experience and potential fun to be had.

The game also lacks some kind of direction, and as soon as you get a net positive energy (as in, you generate more than is consumed), then there's no real motivation to continue past that point. It seems that there were more things planned to happen, since there were resources that, to my knowledge, were never even used (apples, ice, coal and diamonds, for example). If you continue to develop this game, maybe making it so that you can ship cargo out for money, and build a trade space station that way, would go a long way to make it very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the music, it was very calm and relaxing, and really set the mood in conjunction with the slowly floating station and shooting starts flying by. Getting a game over also led to a surprisingly humorous scene, so congrats on that as well!

pitpony 2017-08-02 17:28

I'm afraid that I struggled to understand how to play this one. I couldn't seem to buy anything and didn't really understand the scrap icons on the purchase screen.

It looks incredible though is very unique.

alex-tantum 2017-08-02 17:38

Wow that's cool. The game is cool, I played it for a very long time, I like the mechanics, like the graphics, my congratulations

bruins 2017-08-02 20:14

Bit confusing to play, ambient music is a bit annoying, But the graphics are okay. If there was some sort of tutorial this would be better

gistnoesis 2017-08-02 20:15

The UI seems broken. After a few unwanted restart due to not understanding you have to press escape to get out of build mode. The z-order of the catching of clicks is wrong (when I try to stop an asteroid it opens the build interface. You probably should always show what your current resources are. And highlight possible acquisitions. Nice graphics and audio. Sadly the poor UI got in the way of a promising story. Overall OK.

knorz 2017-08-02 20:18

Loved the art style, but honestly I didn't really understand the game and how it works. But great work! Please play, rate and comment on our game aswell. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/disaster-on-nebula-one

alaah 2017-08-02 20:28

Cześć. Make sure to include resources in the hud instead of hiding them. Dobra grafika.

adroitconceptions 2017-08-02 20:32

Things I liked - background music - art style - death comic

Things for improvement - no back button to get out of 'buy/upgrade' menu - wasn't really clear what needed to be done - The mines are hidden onder the 'stats' display

failedstarfish 2017-08-02 20:53

Really liked the graphics and music. Nice use of the theme and an interesting concept. Like others have said it's a little hard to understand how to play but apart from that a really nice entry.

pedrowzee 2017-08-02 22:07

I don't really know what i'm supposed to do. It seems like the kind of game I'd enjoy, but it really needs more information.

paracatgames 2017-08-03 01:18

I really liked the concept but I had a hard time mining the scrap needed for the first hangar. I liked the colors and the comic when I died.

togis 2017-08-03 01:24

I uploaded my gameplay of this game on youtube, you can find it here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A78YxTSeIbk

Thanks for being part of the stream :)

don-fouts 2017-08-03 01:56

Cool idea, I ended up opening a bunch of windows for the different stations because I can still click them when one of their windows is open. I was a little confused on what I needed to upgrade or how to upgrade them.

rosypenguin 2017-08-03 02:08

I had to read the comments to learn how to play, but once I did it was pretty fun. It's important to think of usability, and testing your game with at least 1 person outside of the team is vital so you can observe how people learn to play your game!

The buttons on the crafting menu have no indication that they can be clicked; just giving them an outline and a hover state will make it more understandable. Also try having an indicator on the buildings that you have enough resources to build. And mirroring what others have said, showing your current resources on the main game instead of having to go into the equipment page will make it much more intuitive.

Overall, with some indications and instructions the game would be really fun! The comic at the end is great too. Good work!

raymoclaus 2017-08-03 04:01

This LOOKS really nice, but the extremely poor UI design is just too hard to ignore and kills what could have been one of the better game I'd seen so far. All those menus don't need to cover the whole screen, you lose a lot of information just by trying to play the game. Some HUD around the sides would have been nice, maybe clicking on a place should show its HUD elements on the screen and then be hidden when you click on a different building. One thing to note is that even though those menus cover the whole screen you can still click on the other places despite not seeing them. At the start, if there is going to be only one obtainable place (or only one that is viable to obtain), you might as well have it on by default so the player has some direction as to what to do first, especially when nothing is explained in the game.

jusw85 2017-08-03 09:52

I managed to fully upgrade everything after trying a couple of times, but not sure what's next. I didn't understand what some of the resources were for, such as apples and ice cubes. Some of the upgrades didn't seem to be worth it. The game in general is not bad though.

solah 2017-08-03 10:11

Music fits perfectly the mood of the game. It is pleasant to play, it is just sad that you always have to click on scraps to get some when you can't see them in menus. I still enjoyed it. Well done!

evbo 2017-08-03 11:47

I really enjoyed the mood of this game. The ambient audio was soothing and the graphics were quite charming.

Unfortunately the X on the module close-up screens that I can see in your screenshot appears to have fallen off the left side for me (at least in the web player), and Escape exits full screen before taking me back to the main screen.

I would have liked a simple sound effect when converting resources to let me know that the buttons were doing something when I clicked on them.

I think cleaning up some of the relatively simple UI issues would go a long way. Great work overall!

hhsaez 2017-08-03 12:39

It took me a while to figure out the basic controls. I agree with the rest of the comments in that you need to revise the UX. Having to press ESC to close the menus is not intuitive (I played the game in HTML). In addition, whenever you picked scraps, it would be nice to have a simple feedback mechanism to understand what type of resource was updated.

I did enjoyed the game once I got the basics mechanics working. I liked the music and the game over screen too. I wasn't expecting that. I also liked the easter eggs, like the flying cow.

Great work!

damoy 2017-08-03 13:22

I don't understand why I could not acquire the tree island for example as I got the required recipes. Otherwise this is a pretty interesting and nice work ! Loved the mood, the graphics, the concept. It was very satisfying, well done !

thirrash 2017-08-03 13:54

As others have already said, it's quite challenging to understand the basics but the game is really climatic and well-done. Big plus for graphics too. The game is one of the most solid entries overall in LD39. Good job!

gamesplusjames 2017-08-03 15:38

It was a bit confusing at first but I got into it after a bit. I wish there was a way to see how much of each element you have when you try to buy one of the stations. I like the little cutscene when you fail though :D Great job!

thaaks 2017-08-03 16:29

It took me a bit to get into the game but I liked the overall appearance of it! The game idea itself is pretty good, but I'm not sure what happens when you built all modules. Does the game end then? Is there some more to do afterwards? UI could be hugely improved as others already mentioned (ESC to go back, information about what resources do I have, maybe some hint what advantage each module gives to the player, etc.). Your first screenshot explaining the features of the module definitely has to go to the info screen of your game.

But anyway it is a fun game, matching the theme and presenting the tense feeling of losing energy really well. Well done!

smdeveloper 2017-08-03 16:39

I liked the graphics, especially the style. However, it would be better to add a tutorial at the beginning, after a while and even thanks to the comments I managed to figure out how to play. In the end after it seemed to be fine I did not understand how I lost it. It's a good idea anyway

thorneto 2017-08-03 17:19

Wasn't really sure what was going on and it was a little bit frustrating needing to exit the game everytime I miss clicked a building. I also could never figure out how to deal with things like the plane and asteroids. Could have been a neat idea but it seems a little too unfinished.

funkyhippo 2017-08-03 18:29

I like the graphics and the idea behind the game, but it took me several replays and readings through comments to realise how to even build a single building. The game is fun, but it feels very limiting in what it allows you to do (it feels very linear from my experience, might just be me), and it needs some feedback to the user regarding how many ressources you have (in the shop/crafting building), where to get specific ressources etc. Overall it's a really neat little game, if some of my complaints get adressed

coomzy 2017-08-03 18:54

I really like the graphics, great job. However I just couldn't get into the gameplay I could never get a shield before getting killed and I didn't have enough time to look around before being killed. I think if this was more intuitive it would have be a really great game.

eptwalabha 2017-08-03 18:56

Nice game... but an in-game tutorial would be great.

pros: - nice graphics - relaxing music - spaaaaaaaace

cons: - Meteors and planes are thrown at the player too soon in my opinion - To click on the main building to know what are your resources is annoying (especially when you trying to buy)

Good job.

zachary-shah 2017-08-03 20:07

Hey still great game and i fixed my link if you wanna check it out

skosnowich 2017-08-03 20:11

Fun little game. The graphics, the music and the sounds fit very well together. I love the game over screen/comic. :D What I didn't like was that you have to click the main module for checking your inventory and that the collection of scrap metal sometimes didn't work, even when you click them.

lamm 2017-08-03 20:36

great game, you did a good job

d-studios 2017-08-03 21:08

I can tell that this game seems good. However, I couldn't have any fun because I didn't understand how to play it, even though I read the instructions you wrote on this LD page. I did like the niceness of the audio though and how it made me feel calm. I also thought the graphics and the UI were great too. In conclusion, the graphics and audio intrigued me to play this game but the lack of proper clear instructions made me quit very quickly.

chris-coe 2017-08-03 21:31

This was nice! Fantastic graphics and sound all around. It was overall pretty intuitive, and I didn't have any trouble figuring out what to do or how to play. Seems like the version embedded in the website really needs to be full screen because the window just isn't wide enough for the whole UI.

frederika 2017-08-04 01:42

You definitely have to play it in full screen. You kind of have to explore what you can do with this game by clicking everything. The rate of energy loss seems a bit unforgiving, I wasn't able to get very far. I do like the idea and catching the scrap was fun. The music was atmospheric and I like the art style.

michaeltwg 2017-08-04 05:48

Interesting but the production menu should be build at the beginning, there are too many ways to get block by not building the right thing at the beginning. A button to close the production menu would also be nice as I reset my game many time while clicking to quickly on the wrong button.

roberto-cano 2017-08-04 09:31

I think it has potential! I like the idea and the crafting system. However I think the UI should be improved to make it easier to play: for example when you craft materials I cannot see the total of each material I have or how much scrap is left. Also I think the balancing makes the game too difficult. However the atmosphere it creates is really good! Kudos for the music and for the idea itself, I think it is innovative.

hunttis 2017-08-04 09:35

I loved the vibe and the music in the game, but catching stuff flying past was really hard and I think it could've used a bit more instructions on how you get the different kinds of materials.

jesper-fyhr-knudsen 2017-08-04 09:50

It took me a little while to figure out the mechanics, but once i did it was fun :) good job and great music.

unidaystudio 2017-08-04 14:26

I don't understand how the mechanics works :/ You should make a tutorial!

By the way, great graphics!

teddydd 2017-08-04 14:45

Some kind of UI for inventory and tutorial could be nice. I love the graphics and sound :)

peter-sheehan 2017-08-04 15:04

I could never remember what the recipes were, or how many I had, so a lot of my time was wasted clicking around looking for the right thing to spend my resources on. Wish there had been better UI to remedy this, as well as instructions in-game, because even though the concept of building shields made sense, I didn't know how to do it. The music was really peaceful, and the graphics look pretty nice.

verysoftwares 2017-08-04 16:01

There seems to be a very complete resource management game here, but the lack of feedback makes it hard to enjoy.

local-minimum 2017-08-04 16:02

I really tried to figure out how to play the game, and I managed to construct a crafting pod, but then I was out of resources. And there seemed like no way to obtain more. I don't think I could afford to build anything else in the beginning. So unless that was the point of the game (which could be really cool if you ran with it a bit more), then as others have said: instructions please. I also found it really easy to click the main menu button when I was viewing a pod (there were no button for going back to the space station view), and so I think I accidentally restarted the game more than 10 times. If the main menu is actually intended to restart the game, the button should really say 'Quit'. I did like the sound and the concept of space station management, but unfortunately I didn't get very far with the game.

cenullum 2017-08-04 16:26

like mini Space Engineers . You should add moving the ship feature for more fun. Arts wasn't match but not matter for now . I liked game :D

remco 2017-08-04 16:28

Hm. You've got a lot of comments! The only really new things I could think of is that (apologies to others if somehow skipped past these points if they were made earlier): - scrap collection starts off quite slow, which compounds the problem of the confusing interface, since it can take a long time to start up if you don't know that you should build the alchemy-lab first - I found myself accidentally clicking the building menu's while I meant to click on scrap

Other than that I really like the game-over screen though

simonhutchinson 2017-08-04 19:24

This is a neat game. I really like the vibe of the music and the final cutscenes. I wish I could see my available resources without going to the main tower though. That would really help me with the flow. Great work for 72 hours!

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-04 20:31

Thanks everyone for really nice comments, they mean a lot for us. Thanks for constructive feedback :)

invixel 2017-08-04 21:59

Really good mood and fitting music, good art, but in my opinion the game just wasen't very fun. I just sat and clicked on occasional scraps flying by. Did the stars and the cows even do anything when clicked? The game wasen't very clear with goal or how to play, so work on that. But you nailed the presentation :)

eshudra 2017-08-04 23:08

Awesome game! Thanks a lot. It would be interesting to play in version with better graphics and improved balance

:metal: **Overal: 5**

peachtreeoath 2017-08-05 07:33

Boy you guys have been working hard on reviewing games!

I really liked this game concept, don't think I've seen something that was exactly like this in terms of collecting resources as they fly by. I think a lot of things have already been said, so I'll just second the comment(s) about having the resources visible at all times. I had to pretty much just write down my resources on notepad sometimes to keep track. Aside from that, still a good variety of resources and buildings to play with.

sagarpatel25700 2017-08-05 08:06

- I actually did'nt came to know what to do or what's the gameplay - The best part of this game is graphics and audio i like it - It would be nice if you could make a gameplay video

shezard 2017-08-05 10:23

Once you get the trick yhe game becames too easy, the idea is quite good but needs to bo more challenging

shell-pirate 2017-08-05 11:03

The graphics weren't spectacular, but they served their purpose well enough. I liked the little story panels as well as the space cows the most - they really added some character. The music was nice and ambient and it set a good mood for the game. The gameplay was pretty expansive for a LD entry and for the most part it worked pretty well. I'd say working on the clarity of the different mechanics would be nice in the future. For example, coveying and explaining some of the things better to the player (such as having to click to pick up scrap, when they got hit and which things are a threat to them, as well as a better indication of what the power usage is of the different modules). The lack of all these things is understandable though for a Jam title. Overall, solid work!

reggnos 2017-08-05 11:55

Really nice game. Had a lot of fun playing it, and it really makes you think about your decisions and what do to next. A few things that i think would really make the game great are the fact that you can click thru everything. I clicked main menu multiple times, while trying to catch scrap, and also activating ice work or other things while trying to click the X to exit that upgrade screen. It can really get annoying especially in moments when you got to act fast and fight for your survival. Anyway the audio is really nice and i love the song when you lose, at least i got to enjoy dying haha.

raaaahman 2017-08-05 13:20

Nice game. It took me some trials to find a valid strategy, then I build a few stuff and didn't seem to be threatened as my energy was going up without too much problem. It seems there's good content with all the buildings + upgrades, but feel likes it misses a goal to reach (didn't played NMS, maybe it's a kind of homage). Having to go inside the main module to see the inventory each time was annoying, and since energy and scraps are displayed on the right maybe the other ressources could have been too.

Graphics and music are nice, very sufficient to a management game I think. Good job!

m-1 2017-08-05 14:58

Nice audio and game concept. At first I couldn't figure out where to get the violet gems needed to build a shield or solar panel. After upgrading the hangar it was obvious.

Interesting game. I would appreciate having a bit more details on how trading works and time counter to be able to see how I did...

gelisam 2017-08-05 17:36

Nice! It took me many attempts to figure out to make progress, but that's fine since that was the fun part. If I already knew from the get go how to play the game, I don't think I would have liked it since clicking scraps isn't super engaging and I didn't feel like my spending decisions mattered that much.

One design decision I really don't understand though is why do we have to go to the main module in order to see how much of each resource we have?? This makes the rest of the game more opaque for no good reason. Like I for a while I couldn't figure out why spending apples on the greenhouse didn't do anything, and it turns out we're harvesting them not spending them! I also had to write down the prices of all the buildings and upgrades because after switching from the page which shows the price to the main module to the alchemy table I had already forgotten which materials I now had to craft in order to buy the thing.

A few bugs I've noticed: the X button isn't visible unless you play full screen, that X doesn't work while the cube is at the top-left of the screen because it brings you right back inside one of its buildings, and upgrading the solar panel didn't work even though I had the necessary resources.

Finally, a suggestion: since it's the scraps which we can click on, not the shooting stars, perhaps it is the former which should announce their presence with a sound, not the latter?

almax 2017-08-05 21:04

I found it a bit confusing to work out exactly what I was doing, but it seems like a nice idea once I got my head around it.

sinclairstrange 2017-08-05 23:55

Look a little while to get used to this couldn't quite understand at first and then I started building shield and slowly got the hang of it. Overall actually a really decent game once you understand what you're doing. Lovely graphics and music that really sets a good tone. Overall really well done! :D

togis 2017-08-06 02:24

As promised, here is the second stream VOD:

surovyi 2017-08-06 09:30

Hey! Good game! Didn't manage to survive (if there is such posibility) but I have lived long enough. Love the sounds, music. The overall mood of the game is excellent. Something in the game reminded me the Heroes of Might and Magic :) The one thing that might be made is a toolbar with collected items (so you do not have to go into the main building). Anyway, the balance and the trading system that were made in 72 hours - is a very good result. Good job!

novotmike 2017-08-06 11:38

I like the idea behind this game - taking care of your spacestation a building it. Graphics and music are great. I personally would add some general UI to see how much resources I have and some notifications. Also some tutorial would be nice. Overall very cool game, nice work!

webster 2017-08-06 13:25

I don't understand what i have to do bro... I don't have access to the inventory, to the ressources i have and to the craft logic sheet..., and what the objet (station) i buy will give me...

still it's look pretty !

saramartins 2017-08-06 14:32

Hey there, just played your game. It was a bit confusing to understand what to do. It wasn't understandable if I managed to craft or not. Also, the asteroids are half cut on the screen, there's stuff to do there but I can't see it on screen. It was an interesting concept, and the minimal art looked cool. The calming mood was also nice.

flarphengarg 2017-08-06 18:49

Extremely confusing, but with some explanation I could see how it could be fun

ouichesdoctor 2017-08-07 12:34

Fun game, once you know what to do. It is really hard to understand at first, not much UI to help. And it seems that there's only one right way to play, too few resources at start. Maybe starting with 1 power gem could grant alternatives.

jason200101 2017-08-07 18:07

I really enjoyed playing it! The graphics are nice, the music is great, and it's a nice relaxing game! Only the beggining can be a little touch if you don't know what you're doing!

The only problem I have to mention, is that the gui in some cases is over the edge. I can't see what I'm making with the upgraded crafter, and I can't see the buy button on the second tier of that building! (Also the crafter has some recipies broken. The coal for diamond one seems a little glitchy, and the last one doesn't give you anything from what my tests have showed)

Also, after you make all the buildings and upgrade them all, the game basically ends, since there isn't anything else to do. Enemies can't hurt you, thanks to the shields, you've got power over the roof (I think I had something like 500%!), the greenhouse is kinda useless, since time doesn't move in-building, and you have to stay there the whole time, the crafter has some broken recipies, and it isn't clear from where you get crystals. You just seem to get them after some time. Maybe the mines? I don't know. They got destroyed anyway (I think...)

Overall, I enjoyed the game, even though I just mentioned all these problems. I really did enjoy the game, the music was great, and all those problems I just mentioned are just minor details I would like to see fixed. Nothing else. They're not game-breaking problems. They would just add to the overall image! Don't take this comment as a negative. It isn't, at least not from my prespective, and I just want to say, Well made!

Edit: Oh, yea. I also forgot. The crystal exchange for power at the solar panel doesn't seem to work!

sarah 2017-08-07 18:07

I wasn't able to close the UI unless I was able to buy the item [which was never since I clicked the UI immediately]. It seems there should be an X or something to close the menu, but that wasn't there so I was only able to go back to the main menu. Which basically made the game unplayable for me :(

oboshape 2017-08-07 18:53

nice one, once i sussed out what to do i thought it was an interesting little game :) well done

aterlamia 2017-08-07 19:23

I like the art style and the music is very relaxing. Some explanation or tutorial system would have helped a lot I think as it is pretty confusing to start with.

hugimugi7 2017-08-08 09:42

without tutorial it's hard to understand what to do

simplepotential 2017-08-08 18:47

I love the concept but some instructions in game would be nice. Seems like I couldn't ever craft anything. I do like what you were going for and the game over screen was creative.

mato26 2017-08-08 18:57

Yes, as mentioned a lot of times, hard to know what to do but idea nice and definitely took a lot of effort :) also even though some object's detail is open, it is possible to click on something in the background. Not sure if intended or bug. Nothing crucial just a note :D And I understand that the tutorial would take very big amount of time from the jam to implement so we can not really blame you :D

kpded 2017-08-08 19:04

WOW! Great job!

Nice music and art and flying cows (just love these mammals flying in the airless sky and proud silence)

I'll say no word about tutorial (seriously, make it)

loktor 2017-08-08 19:19

I think most things have already be said by the other guys here :D

I really like your art style + music too, they are fitting together greatly :)

As others have said i had a hard time initially to understand what i have to do or how i can get certain resources (also i had the problem that once i was in the menu of an building and i clicked somewhere suddendly another building menu poped up?^^ i guess that this is an bug :D), once i got the hang of it, it really started to turn into a fun concept :) great job :)

brazmogu 2017-08-09 00:31

The game is not very clear, but not hard to figure out, either. You could have included that little explanation screen in the game, too. :P

Also, you mostly use the mouse, but have to use the keyboard to go back. That's just a little odd, but not really bad.

I like the game, in general, the cheeky ending as I lost was appreciated. :) Good job there.

ethan-kennerly 2017-08-09 02:14

When I bought a hangar I felt interested. If you continue to develop this, I would continue to play if I could figure out how to buy or produce equipment. My inventory showed 0 equipment.

alwaysinbeta 2017-08-09 22:52

I didn't have a clue what I was doing until I read the comments, but after I really enjoyed the game -- thanks! Along with instructions, it could definitely do with a bit more feedback as to what is happening. I thought the atmospheric music was great and the graphics were really nicely done. Circuit boards were a bit of grind to save up for! I got to the point where I feel like I'd upgraded everything and had nowhere to go -- I don't know if there is an ending but it just felt like a stalemate..

eremiell 2017-08-10 15:26

Could we please get a Linux64 or "Universal" build? Thanks!

mr-madcat 2017-08-10 15:27

The game was pretty hard to understand. It feels a bit like there is exactly one way to survive a bit longer. It felt more like puzzle game, where it was hard to figure out the exact order of steps than a resource oriented simulation which it looked like. Maybe it was just me not being able to figure out multiple ways to survive longer, but I think it should be more open to different strategies. Graphics were cool and I think the idea has potential with some more feedback.

cydouzo 2017-08-11 02:41

Great game.

Too much different types of ressources, most of them being completely useless. Why would you even do that?

Experienced a bug where I cannot upgrade my solar panel.

cttfow 2017-08-11 07:57

Atmosphere works well. Music is nice and art is pretty easy on the eyes. But just like everyone else, I wasn't able to get anywhere in the game. I was clicking the items that flew by, but it didn't seem to change anything.

hishicorne 2017-08-11 13:50

Good game with a great ambiance, great graphics, great musics... However it was a bit hard playing it, because I didn't have any clue what I should have done... I think it would have been better having a little tutorial on the game (I saw it after on this page). However this could be improved easily. I really hope you'r going to do a post jam version of this game because it have some potential I think.

gonutz 2017-08-12 11:39

I don't know how to play this game, I can click on some flying things and not on others, there is no tutorial or any clue as what to do. I can click on some of the wireframes and get to a menu where I can buy stuff with some other stuff. This is really far too complicated to play without any kind of instruction.

The graphics are cool, though, nice comic style.

The music gives the game a nice spacey atmosphere.

mianagames 2017-08-12 23:09

Nice graphics and audio. Great work. Congrats.

rubyleehs 2017-08-13 13:11

Everything has been said already. To not use up your points, I'm not going to say more. Though, I dig the art. Is it vector art?

theflyingkeyboard 2017-08-13 19:50

@rubyleehs unfortunattely no, we wanted to do vector art, but it is not supported by Unity, so instead @Quivscor created very high resolution graphics, it was somethink like 4000px by 4000px if my memory serves me right :)

badly-drawn-rod 2017-08-13 20:39

Once Mrs Columbo and I figured out what to do, the game became quite enjoyable. Our biggest problem was remembering to press Escape rather than the Main Menu button, which got a little frustrating at times, but this is definitely original and interesting. My wife felt bad for the poor wizard in the "game over" panel, but liked how he appeared to walk away from the tragedy in a "carry on, nothing to see here!" manner.

It's well within the LD rules to put the directions on your game page, so perhaps if you did that then it might help others know what to do, because you have a nice game here.

klianc09 2017-08-14 10:15

There might be a good game here, but it's hidden behind questionable UI design decisions and missing instructions. Having to click on the central building to see my resources is really cumbersome, just always display them on the screen. And I never seemed to get the resources I needed from the scrap I collected...

terryg 2017-08-14 14:28

One good game :) I don't have much to say. but its one good game.

guckstift 2017-08-14 20:29

The beautiful vector graphics and the relaxing music really hit me. I also reckon there is a sophisticated game concept inside. Seems a bit unresponsive yet. I need hints for what to do or where I can click so that something happens.

jimbly 2017-08-15 01:06

That was neat =). A little boring clicking on flying scrap, but fun to upgrade my station. On my third attempt, I managed to get the greenhouse built so that I wouldn't run out of power, however the game lost any difficulty at that point, just slowly accumulated stuff. I first tried the WebGL version, and that didn't work because I seemed to need to press Escape to leave some screens, and escape also exited full-screen in the browser :(. I then tried the Windows version, and that had problems (that I didn't realize until later) because my screen is not 16:9 (it's 16:10), and some UI was off the edge of the screen (such as the crafting UI once you upgrade it, though I eventually figured out what the parts I couldn't see must have indicated).

indiealchemist 2017-08-15 10:22

I like the mood of the game! Relaxing. I managed to get enough energy so that I don't need the shields  Good job!

valphera 2017-08-15 18:25

Stunning! I really like how it feels like a complete game, it doesn't have the most frequent problems that jam games have except a need of a tutorial! The graphics are well done and I really can say the same about pretty much every other aspect of this entry. It would be perfect with more signs and feedbacks, and maybe a bit more juiciness but keep it up and you'll get there without a problem

belga54 2017-08-16 17:14

Really interesting ! Took me a while to understand it but once that, it was so fun to play it ! The idea was neat!

The graphics are pretty liked the sound effects. Also I noticed that cow in the space, this is your logo, right ? Interesting ! Good entry !

tero-pulkkinen 2017-08-17 14:19

nice sprites, but i didnt figure out how to control anything since wasd or cursor keys didnt work...

matt-fabius 2017-08-17 20:08

The game seems pretty cool but it could probably use a tutorial in the beginning.

lavwa 2017-08-18 14:59

Great game ! Took me a little bit of time to understand I could start building structure right away, but it was easy enough to figure it out quickly. I like the concept very much, the atmosphere is cool, cute little joke with the cow :) Maybe add a sound/visual info(counter) when you craft a ressource, but other than that, it's perfect!

yuigoto 2017-08-18 21:17

I did take a bit longer than I imagined to get how the game worked, but once I got, playing it was really fun! Nice take on the theme!

Graphics add up to the touch of humor in the end cutscene, and are really fitting! :) Also, nice cow! ;D Good job on audio too, it really helps set the game's mood!

Maybe the game needs some balancing, or something to gather scraps easily (though, if planning on launching on mobile, it's really nice like this).

Great job! ;)

galaxstudios 2017-08-19 14:28

Nice game but did take long to understand the game but once I understood it, it was great fun. The audio fits really well and helps set the game's mood. The end cutscene graphics add some humour and fit well. It doesn't need some balancing here and there but overall it is good. Keep it up!

Gorgeous animation, music and ideas. Great theme for meditation. We have not received enough training. What is going on here? I need to build something? And then wait.. how long?

Hey, good game, but i have some considerations. * The game doesn't fit the screen, so i had to always play fullscren to see the entire scene. * I can't always click on the scraps flying around, sometimes it simply doesn't get the scrap and i lose it. * I manage to get all stations except for the left shield, which requires a resource i don't know how to get, the green chip. * The lack of tutorial make the game a bit frustrating, the playes shouldn't be suposed to figure out how to play your game. * The resouces are only visible if i click on the main station, it is fun at all have to always click there and try to remember what resource i have to build or upgrade building. It could be better if you improve it. Anyway, good job!

The game was good ! And you did a great job submitting it to many vote too :) I'm no big fan of management games but you have done a great job considering it's a ludum game :) Nice shot !

Interesting ideas! I included it in my Ludum Dare 39 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtKz5DBYziE

I most certainly did feel relaxed while playing!

Overall, I wish there was more to do while waiting for scrap metal. Like maybe if it were a clicker game as well, that way I could be clicking away trying to generate a little resource, but need to still keep my eye out for scraps. The art was good though, and I enjoyed the cows.
