So addictive !

So addictive !
It reminds me a mini-game of the second opus of Professor Layton when you had to make walk a hamster so as it can lose some weight. But to make it walk, the hamster needed some motivation. In other words, items you put in strategic places of the greed to make the hamster as far as possible. Nice adaptation of the concept ;-)
I like the graphics, the voice of the monster, the growing difficulty and the overall ambience. It has style and we have immediate fun thanks to a easy and simple game mechanic. Good ;-)
I have had a lot of fun. The pace is good and the difficulty grows also at the right pace. Personally, I find the power-up system is cool but the theme of the LD 39 is not really here (nevermind after all). Sprites (or meshes ?) are nice but more detailed backgrounds and props would be a nice add.
Unfortunately, I cannot play your game with someone else but I can feel the potential. And the graphics and the sound are nice. Next time, you should make a one player html5 game to appeal more testers.
A simple but very effective idea of gameplay. The fun is immediate. Indeed some music to give the game some pace and ambiance. A music whom the tempo is going faster when the player is about to loose, to give him a shot of adrenaline. But surely all the polishing stuff could be done on a post-jam version. Nice work!
:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
The music remind me those of Mass effect. Excellent sci-fi theme;-) Speaking about the gameplay I can just say it is a good one...I have something quite alike for my compo. But you add more context and details with those window info including the mission, cost, reward and so on. Very nice work!
I really like how you us the piano to create the atmosphere and also give feedbacks to the player. The art style give also a unique touch to this game. Smart use of the torch, and the way to defeat the rat is clever. I have just had some difficulty to navigate in the narrow corridors while crouching.
It is a clever puzzle-platformer. A really good games with a few flaws such as : - I am struggling with directional jump using to letter keys in the same time. You should have assigned the space bar to the jump. And maybe use the arrow keys for movement instead of the letters.
Tested on my iPad. The first I could play on it.. Really good for a first try. Commands respond well but it is often difficult not to hit the rock with the wings. Graphics are beautiful. But I had no sound. More variety on obstacles and music and Sfax for a post-jam would be nice.
It is a fantastic puzzle game with humour and which stick to the theme of LD39. Maybe I had a technical pb but no sound for me. Music and SFX would be a nice add to this addictive puzzle game.
A cleaver coop puzzle game matching the LD39 theme : running out of power. Unfortunately I do not have the opportunity to test it with a second person but controlling both robot was fine too. If there is a post-jam version I would suggest better graphics.
I cannot disapprove the concept. Actually, I had an idea close to yours for this LD39 but your shooter is more intense and more demanding than mine;-)
This is an incredibly moving interpretation of the LD39. The powerful narration is brilliantly served by a marvelous pixel art and a beautiful soundtrack. The music expresses by itself the progressive loss of power of the hero going from an heroic theme stolen from a Marvel movie to a very sad one. I feel like the all-muscle guy from the beginning is who the main character wanted to be to save his beloved one. After such a powerful experience I am a bit ashamed to complain about the controls which are too close from each other. Arrow keys would be a better choice for movement. QTE are good but as I have an AZERTY keyboard... switching to the English mode was not a good idea. Nevermind. It was one of my favorite game of this LD39.
OMG! Vive la French touch (I guess so). Do funny a game with a really simple game mechanics. Sort of Track and Field with something appealing. The art and sound are fabulous.
I like the idea very much (a powerful one;-). the game is demanding. Very cool what I could call puzzle-platformer. Levels should be design so as the player cannot trap himself with the platforms he creates. Anyway, your concept deserves a full and polished post-jam version;-)
An RTS game. That is ambitious. Graphics and colors especially are gorgeous.
Great job! The multiplayer aspect makes the game really exciting. Knowing I am fighting real players put the stake at a high level. The minimalist graphics fits well. Something more realistic would not have been more immersive. I do not know if my Internet line is involved but rotating the player was pretty slow and after a few sec pressing the button my character do 270 deg rotation. So I have strafed a lot to get my opponents. I will definitively play it again when I want to chill out from work.
The way the story is told, the idea of playing through the phone screen (a mise en abyme?) make that game as a really deep ambiance. Nice! But as for the gameplay, I feel that something should have been added to make the game 100% captivating.
It is a nice game with the right amount of juice. And it is directly linked to the theme as each shot is a precious piece of power fading away. Any boss or kind of, to spice the thing up ?
The game is a bit too hard for me. The 1st wave should die more easily and leave pick-ups more often. But the graphics and subtile animation are cool, so as the music and Sfx. I want more but easier;-)
A great piece of fun but never managed to win. Even with two hands  And why the old man always win? I also wanted to see Grey's Anatomy :yum:
Seriously, cartoon graphics and humour was definitely a good recipe for a great LD39 game. Yours is not running out of fun!
Got a black screen on Kongregate :sob:
I love the gloomy atmosphere and the idea of the flashlight makes this platformer really challenging. With a little better graphics it could be a hit!
The concept is as easy to catch that it is addictive. It really a fun game which, with some extra stuff to extend the concept, could be a nice mobile game. The ambiance is here but I would appreciate a wider window and better character animation. The minimalist pixel art style fits very well though.
The cry of the falling bear is amusing.
Unfortunatly I do not have the time to test it fully, but the overall is fine, from the concept to the graphics and music. I would add a tutorial on-line and maybe speed up the game pace.
The core gameplay is really cool and fits perfectly to the theme of LD39. I like the idea of keeping a constant balance between several parameters to keeping going forward.
The idea is as simple as good. So as the graphics. I have test the HTML5 version and add no sound. Music and SFX would juice your game up;-)
Sorry cannot play your game (windows 10 64 bit)
Graphics are beautiful and the music makes me want to dance on my chair;-) The concept is indeed classic but effective. I have noticed that enemies tend to go toward the center vertical line of the screen (to the center) that make them to predictible. Different AI for the enemies could ad more fun.
Oh yeah, must have been fun to record all these dialogs. It is a refreshing point and click. I was a real fan of this genre during my young days. Staging (if I can use this word) is good. I feel like watching a TV show. Music is excellent. I would just say that the link to the LD39 theme is a it superficial, but never mind provided we get a funny game ;-)
I really the graphics though I found the main character walk animation a bit too rigid. The start screen is beautiful. The gameplay is cool ;-)
It is a pleasant platform sticking to the LD39 theme. The pixel art is nice and the objective is clear so as the player can involve oneself in the game immediatly. Else, I had a problem with the game window on th web version and could not see the whole GUI.
When I read the comments of other players, it seems this game has a deep ad interesting gameplay. But I am to noob to get the most of it. Cannot figure out the command by myself. Would love to play it again when there will be a page about game controls and command. I like the graphics that reminds me of Discworld. And the music is so nice !
I am really impressed by the game. The low-resolution graphics hide a very polished game: animation, gameplay, UI, candy-eye, donjon generation, feedbacks... Everything is made with taste and focus on details. Fun and well made. I want a 16-bit version of it;-)
Like the others I was impressed by the mood, subtile use of lights, the story and the fabulous sound track. But I had a hard time to control the player. I feel there is some collision problem as my character stick to often on the ground and refuse to move after a jump. I feel that the emotional part of your game, which is quite impressive, would be even more powerful if you could replace abstract characters by human (designed) ones.
OMG! The pixel art is fantastic and everything is done (graphics, music, sfx, menu, playability) at a level near from the pro one. Nothing more to say. It is near perfection like this.
A nice little game. The concept is original. Tested on a browser : no music and no sound. If it is not a technical pb, music and sfx should add some juice to your game. keep going!
It is a clever interpretation of the main theme of this Ludum Dare. The game mechanics can be learned quickly so as the player involves oneself into the game. The graphics are minimalist and should be improved for a post-jam version but they help to make the game easy to read. Sound and music would help to juice the game up! Nice game though!
The graphics and sounds are fantastic creating an immersive medieval ambience. The core idea of the game fits good to the theme of LD39. But as some other people I have had a hard time attacking (collision problem?). On top of that I play on an laptop. Maybe a closer camera or zoom effect when you are in a combat situation could help the player to better handle the situation?
Nice and cute platformer. Graphics, animation and music are good quality. You should add sfx for jump, landing, running, hurt and so on. As we are all intoxicated by super Mario game mechanics, I think you should ask some spiky things on the head of the enemies so as we understand immediatly we cannot jump on them to kill them.
I have started having fun when I read the pitch of your game. It is really surprising incarnation of the LD39 theme. Nice idea! It is really fun and the scoring system if also really inventive. More animation, feedbacks sounds, music and candie for the eye could make your game perfect for Android or IPhone.
Cute graphics and also cute music. The concept is easy to catch and can get more depth through level design. For a post-jam version you should also focus on improve animations (make the body roll like the cute robot in the latest star wars) and sfx (jump, land door open, door cannot be open...).
Nice graphics and atmosphere.
Very cool runner with nice graphics (and parallax scrolling!). The game mechanics are solid and the game is not too hard so the player can enjoy the run. The music is dynamic and fits to the overall atmosphere of the game. Nonetheless it laks of sfx when player jumping, landing, or colliding with object and die.
The concept is easy to catch, the game is easy to play but perhaps a mouse control would be better.
Thank you for your interesting feedbacks. Indeed it seems it is pretty frustrating for some players to refrain from shooting;-). The core idea of the gameplay was the lesser evil choice. But in a post-jam version, I will add something rewarding to shooting. Probably some random loot (power supply). As for random turret pop-up I would also add some animation before turret pop up so as the player has the time to spot it and doggie the turret. Thanks a lot.
It is a nice and fun game. Graphics, sound and gameplay... everything is coherent and consistent. It is a challenging game I would like to finish when I have some time. But speaking about the theme, running out of power, I have died many times from many things except running out of power
It is an interesting maze game. It fits the theme thanks to the shrinking light mechanics. The player learns quickly and easily the game rules and can enjoy the game immediately. As the other people who tested your game, I found the controls a bit approximative. It makes you lose the game in an unfair way. Music and sound fx are fine but the rest looks like a prototype. Better graphics, candy eyes and a humanoid character would juice the game up. Finally, the game mechanics do not renew themselves at all, from a maze to another. It feels it is just an extensive use of the same mechanic. Some twist and nuances in this mechanics could help make a fun game with an acceptable durability.
The core idea is good and graphics too. As it seems the level is generated procedurally, why not building new maps through it to give some durability to the game (random number of batteries, different sizes of maps, a difficulty variable according to the level number...).
The concept looks cool but it is kind of buggy in my web browser. I love the 80’s style graphics and the robot animation.
Graphics are cool and cute and I love punching things;-) But indeed sfx for feedback and an action-type music or cute one would juice your game up! Basic enemy should die with one jab has they are several to come in the same time. Else I have to back and forward all the time to avoir being overwhelmed. When game is over it does not restart or does not close. Though really cute main character.
You have made my wife play a game :astonished: But I am not surprised with this cute graphics and funny music and sfx. Really nice creation. But as a stand alone (I know we are talking about a game made in 72h) the interest does not last longer. Could be cool if you make a compilation of mini-games in the same style.
Simple but effective. I had a lot of fun trying to run away from power. A very inspired incarnation of this LD39. As it is a jam game, more efforts in the graphics, some music, and attention to details would have been a bonus. Why not remind the player the percentage of completion of the level on the game over (lose) screen. For the sake of the player's motivation. Some button to quit the game would be nice too.
I do not understand why the cat is so mean with the main character. Going inside others house in the middle of the night to help them saving their electricity is an act of civicism! I really like how you interpret the theme of LD39. You have a powerful imagination. The choice of a top-down view is cool.
You should indeed complete your game so we can all enjoy it powerful narrative dimension!
OMG! That was so fun! Nothing more to say. Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Graphics are bit too simplistic but help the game being easily readable. I like the concept which, to some extent, makes me think about Portal (without portals). That makes me think that a kind of story with cinematics as a red line could be a nice touch to a final and commercial version.
"Tested on HTLM5" I am really impressed by the quality of this game. The graphics are awesome and reach the standards of pro assets. Very nice parallax scrolling. The loop (music) is fine and fits to this very moment of tension. On top of that it does not bore me at all after minutes of playing. Sound effects are ok and provide good feedbacks about where are the emergencies on the train. Maybe it is a matter of personal taste, but I am not fan of the movements which seem based on a physics engine. Characters are too heavy and react slowly to the commands. I would also like some twist, something that renew and or deepen the gameplay. But I am asking too much. It is so amazing to make such a beautiful and fun game in 72h!!! An Android and/or IPhone version could be fun.
Simple but the gameplay is solid enough to entertain people for quite a long a time. Need though some twist for a better experience.
It was too abstract for me though it is a clever interpretation of the LD39. The absence of music, sfx and candies for eye make the game less appealing that it should.
It is a very cool concept. It is a pity I cannot play it with someone else^^' Graphics, music, sfx, everything is cute and cool. And speaking about the control, it is a good idea to choose E, S, D,F. It fits to both QWERTY and AZERTY keyboards.
It was very ambitious to deliver a multiple gameplay game. And the idea of man life evolution was a great idea to keep the player motivated to go on and try every game. Nice!
The game is based on an ambitious idea that deserves time to be developed at its full potential. I had some difficulties to play it, but I am not used to playing that kind of game.
It is a cute little game. Graphics are simple but well done. Nice artistic touch. Cute sounds and pieces of music would be as pleasant as useful for feedbacks and strengthening the ambiance. The gameplay is imaginative and easy to grasp. It was a good idea to choose the mouse as a unique controller. But the negative counterpart is the gameplay is a bit too simple (even for a 72H made game) and I did not saw some challenge in it. It needs some extra elements (you present the game as a platformer, so maybe platform and some obstacles to go through in a funny way), and also sound and visual feedbacks to see more obviously when the plant is in danger. The game has some potential for iPhone, Android phones, and tablets, but with a deeper gameplay and extra features.
Sorry to use this to contact you. Speaking about my game : Hello. It is because every move and every shot costs you power. The core idea is to save your power. So move and shoot wisely;-) I test your game and give feedback ASAP!
Oh it is a cool puzzle game with a nice game mechanics. The difficulty is progressive and the way to solve problems are really smart.
Downloaded on Game Jolt. Your game is a cool way to chill out after work. I love the graphics and the light trail on the hero blade. The time mechanic is a cool feature and really convenient when you are in the back of an enemy to finish him quickly and clean... like a cat ninja. In my opinion the waves are growing to fast.
I agree with the other people on the fact the gameplay is repetitive. It lacks some twists and candy-eyes/visual feedback to break the monotony and keep the player motivated. Graphics and music are nice.
I really love the mechanics which I consider really innovative. At least something different from a shooter or platformer... or a platform shooter. The more I play and the more I like. A multiplayer will definitively put the game at a higher level of fun. And beyond the scope of the LD39, this game deserves HD graphics to draw the attention to players who do not take the time appreciate a good game when there is no fancy High res graphics.
The interpretation of the LD39 is really unexpected. It is a fun concept that deserves to be developed. For the ambiance music and sound effect would be nice.
You have created a very immersive ambiance through the music and the dialogs. I like the concept though I am not really good at it. Speaking again about the art, it is really well done and sensitive.
I think you have to turn your page to public view in your itch.io account. Then people will be able to access it. Looking forward to trying your game.
Very clever way to link the theme to a Greek Mythology classic and an effective idea of gameplay. The music is good and the graphics too, but a little effort on the character design and animation to make it more human would be a nice touch. The player would be more involved in saving Icarus. A nice looking game over (you win or you loose) would also be good.
Fantastic game. I have had a lot of fun playing it. Graphics, sounds, everything is pleasant and web polished. Never thought that playing a healer would be so hard a job. I may suggest to enable fullscreen on itcth.io to make the action more readable. Excellent game recipe
I also have a crush for the SNES. This entry is the most original I have tested so far. Make the cartridge jump from one slot to another is pretty chanllenging. The collision system is not forgiving at all. But that spices up the whole thing. I really enjoyed playing your game. So cool
Very pleasant game. A bit short but as you could not work on it a whole day, that is normal. The game mechanic is clever and can be deepened and scaled for a whole featured game. Nice entry
The game is engaging and fun thanks to a very clever tetris-like game mechanic. The way the game connect with the theme is also very clever and shines in the middle of hundred of escape/farming/bodygard... games.Indeed, a proper score system would be a nice feature for a next version.
With a bit more of time this could have been a really nice game. 2.5D graphics and mood are exquisite
Thanks for playing my game J-fret
Thank you for playing my game and giving me feedbacks. I will try to improve the game difficulty later.
thank you every  I put for sure "better controls" on the to-do list
Thanks for playing my game cvetkO! The game needs for sure a some tweeking on the difficulty and more variety in terms of gameplay. I think everybody will understand, but I had to put on the shelves a lot of ideas as far the time fled (too fast). The flying mechanic is bit tricky first, but once you master it, it is so enjoyable to fly directly to the targeted planet. This is the key to defeat the insects.
The graphics are beautiful and the BGM sounds great. Good job!
Really impressive for a first entry and after only three months of coding learning. The rules and controls are simple, still the game is challenging enough. The graphics are nice and there is also particules effects. I would have added a short in-game tutorial and a file system to save the player best score in the web browser local storage. And as the game is played with the keyboard, pressing a key to restart the game. It is a fun and complete game. Nice :v:
I like the concept and think this game as a potential. But I ran into the moving and collision troubles described in the previous comments. Audio feedbacks and, more visual feedbacks, could help read the game flow. The music is nice and change according to situation. There is a root to grow a nice and pretty game here:rose:
So addictive! But reminds a bit too much the current situation  Put all together graphics, game mechanics, mood are fantastic and consistent. I did not make a great score so I bookmark your game page to get my revenge later :smirk:
