Dinosaur Survival Bash!! by Orni 2012-08-27T13:30:00

Nice game! My absolute favorite feature: Enemies shooting at each other :)

The Darkness Evolve!! by juaxix 2012-09-01T16:19:00

I think you accomplished something that is not a trivial task: You make the player feel like he really is some godlike giant thing in control of worlds. At least the atmosphere and the sparse lighting made me feel like it :) The game-play itself is a bit short and not very surprising. I always was unsure if the camera control was intended or a bug. But the atmosphere is really nice.

E.V.O by Cyros 2012-09-17T06:37:00

The web version didn't work for me "Error while loading game". The windows version worked fine.

Nice little game. Would have liked longer levels :)
Some thoughts:
The knives seem to appear from nowhere and even disappeared unexpectedly sometimes. Collision of the avatar seems to be point based in the middle of the body - maybe a square would feel more natural (and wouldn't allow the players body to walk halfway into an obstacle). Just some thoughts.

Deal with It by midgard 2012-08-28T08:38:00

I loved it, and I finished it (with something like 300 deaths ;))Great idea not to let the blood dissapear, bot to show you how often you died already. And indeed it hides some of the geometry if you die too often :) Good Job!

Locked Away by localcoder 2012-09-02T06:46:00

This was actually one of the rare cases of a text-game that I liked. And that despite me not liking detective games. This really caught me and I was actually disappointed when it ended. Can't see the theme in it either, but nevertheless this was really fun. Good job!

Acts of August: Introspective by NeiloGD 2012-08-30T14:27:00

I really really liked the idea to integrate all this media together. I started with the comic, which was making me really curious. I watched the movie next. Well done. I was then hoping to find out what it all was about in the game, but I guess thats not supposed to happen? I wandered around quite a while finding parts of Morgans thoughts/memories but they seemed very random and explained nothing. that was dissapointing. I'll have to leave the interpretation within the bounds of my imagination I guess. The game itself is beautiful and has a very nice atmosphere. It could have been soooo much better if it was a more integrated part with the movie and the comic and would play more with the player starving for an explanation. Overall it still is a great idea and very well executed imho. It was a pleasure.

Darwin's Odyssey by Edd Morgan 2012-09-17T06:50:00

Very funny game :) A bit more polishing and a more difficult "endgame" would have been nice. Protip: Read the funfacts on the help page frequently. Gave me some good laughs :)

.Evolvorous. by repstyle 2012-08-31T13:10:00

I really like the game. But it was definitely too easy. I like the visual variation that comes with your approach to the theme. Some of the tutorial parts were skipped very fast without me being able to read them. But overall the gist of the game isn't that hard to get anyway :) Good Job!

Kitten Evolution by AngelDE98 2012-08-28T10:00:00

Visually, the menu ist the best part of the game :) All in all it looks decent i think. The gameplay is very much not surprising (ignoring the bugs). As far as I can tell, the theme is, well, only met by the title of the game. There is no level 4, right?

Kitten Evolution by AngelDE98 2012-08-28T12:21:00

I think I understood that part. The gui text is super small btw.. Concerning the "rescue the kittens" part, it is not indicated that there is an end to the flood of kittens and bots, so I guess no one would try long enough to see it?

LD24 X0ut by X-0ut 2012-08-28T09:39:00

Awesome game! But by far too difficult for me. I tried several times but couldn't more than once.

EvoGoop by pirate-rob 2012-09-17T06:30:00

I enjoyed exploring this!

I don't think that the upgrades necessarily need a more detailed explanation. I think its fun enough to see what happens (but they should then be more conform to expectations I guess).

Two things that I think the game would have benefited from are:
a) Some kind of indicator that you did damage to the enemies (I eventually killed them but meanwhile I wasn't sure if I even hit them).
b) An upgrade to the players overall damage.
As it is, it made me want to wait for the plants to grow new food so I can fully evolve instead of proceeding through the cave.

Once I changed my strategy from "go and kill everything" to "evolve first and kill everything later" it was actually way more fun to play.

evolving by pjchardt 2012-09-16T16:53:00

I agree that the controls could be tighter. Also I had a hard time getting over the platforms in level 3 because it was really hard to land (and stay) on them. Other than that, I really liked the idea and the simplicity of your implementation! Was really fun to play. Good job!

OMG, GMOS! by Afrodynamics 2012-08-31T13:56:00

My beloved Pig Melissa was unreachably hidden behind a gigantic 23 legged Pig-Cow that I had accidently exposed to radio-active materials. Melissa died before I could feed her back to live. R.I.P. Melissa. (Read: I had a ton of fun)

Cows VS Wolves by FatalCaca 2012-08-28T08:01:00

This damn horny cows! I had those two who were unable to move for quite some rounds because they were making love aaaaaall the time! Fresh love ... the game whatever is quite nice. It is a bit tedious to always click all the cows individually to move each of them. Always It would be nice if they would also move into the right direction if you click a tile further away than their current ap allow them to move. Unfortunatly somewhere at the middle of level 2 I realised a bug that wouldn't allow me to move the camera to the left or upwards. Only possible right and down. This made most of my cows unreachable for me. I restarted the game hoping that it was just a rare exception but it persisted. So I tried to play as long as I can with that restriction but had to give up at level 2 again. Other than that: Good job!

Helix - A DNA Editor / Creature Platformer by hirsch 2012-08-28T14:05:00

Very funny graphics ;) It also was much fun to play around with the DNA to see the effects. Overall a nice game :)

Temporal Agent by Deykoweec 2012-08-31T13:35:00

I shot myself! Nice mechanic. I love time-travel-oooops-I-killed-myself-things. The tilt controls are unfortunately not that easy to use. Especially because you have to tilt the phone really far (> 45° ?) to get full speed. Other than that, I think it is a really nice entry for your first game ever.

Temporal Agent by Deykoweec 2012-08-31T13:36:00

One thing I forgot to mention: I recommend putting a QR-Code as one of your screenshots on this page. Makes it a lot easier for people to download your game when surfing ld on their desktop.

Selection by S0larCode 2012-08-30T06:50:00

I really liked this, plays very intuitively (which you can tell, when a game has comments like "I don't know what I am doing, but I am having fun" :) Unfortunately it is enough just to capture more tiles by clicking very fast on the borders of your captured territory. So I won the game before I had actually realized the rule that you need 1-2 neighbours for a cell to survive. I played it again afterwards but didn't feel like planning more made me play better :) Anyway: Good job!

Bloodline by eli 2012-09-01T09:56:00

So far we have gribit gribit gribit and wadowadowadowah. I'd rather call it a miniminiminimi. Nice game. I really liked that I could choose which upgrade would be best for me. I couldn't observe any differences in the bloodlines though? Didn't like the graphics much but the game-play was actually quite funny.

Tad's Adventure by dalbinblue 2012-08-28T13:18:00

I also liked the idea of choosing your skills as an interpretation of the theme. The game is really hard but also very enjoyable. Well done.

Ivan the Infection by AuxiliumGames 2012-09-02T06:13:00

I really enjoyed playing it. I will come back I guess :)

Badass by Sos 2012-08-27T02:36:00

Funny graphics, great sounds. I'll take the relation to the theme as "somewhat observable on a meta-level"

The Last Creationist by ubear 2012-09-02T07:01:00

This ... was ... crazy ... need ... to ... rest ...
I enjoyed it. The resolution is a bit too low for me, couldn't see as much details as I would have liked to. Also agree that there was no challenging part. But it was hilarious, really.

Prance Prance Evolution by Josh Riley 2012-08-27T15:52:00

I actually enjoyed playing it. Although I did not like looking at it :) But the acutal game mechanics seem to be working. Good job for 48h! I fixed my game that you were unable to start btw.

Paradigm Shift by LuizHGMonclar 2012-08-27T10:59:00

What a suprise! I really liked the way the game starts off and the suprise moment(s) it generates. The "end-game" gets repetetive fast and the mobAI could be better, but I enjoyed the game for a while anyway. I also like the meta-level approach you took on the theme. (I fixed my game that you were unable to start btw).

Vessolution by NedortGames 2012-08-27T02:14:00

very short and I just can't find the theme?

Stevie Asteroid Rescues the Hovercredits by KHANanaphone 2012-08-28T08:15:00

I have to agree with the difficulty. I didnt make it past stage 4 where I was managing to pass the loose platforms but kept dying from gunfire at the end of the room. I gave up at some point because the music really started to get on my nerves (mainly because it restarts whenever you die, which happened a lot to me). If it kept playing it might have be different. Concerning the game: I like how you took the evolution theme into account. the presentation of improvements of your development process is clearly visible and a nice idea. I do not agree that much that the controls were so bad - of cours not perfect and far from super meat boy, but they worked for me. All together: good job, especially if you learned the tools from scratch.

Homes Through Time! by Materie 2012-08-28T07:26:00

I played this game to the end! Would really have liked to see what you could have made of it. So sad it's too short.

Move forward by michax 2012-08-27T16:52:00

I really liked it. Nice graphicstyle. Would have liked to play longer. Good job!

133 by fr_automatik 2012-08-27T16:04:00

Nice game! I was low on health most of the time so I had to raise my health stat on each level up so I wouldn't die. After a while and 133 kittens later, It got repetetive. But up to that point it was actually quite nice. Good job!

Evolution by Mathias Olsson 2012-08-31T15:43:00

man this made me sick. So it probably sells well on Android, because most things that sell there well make me sick too. Seriously: I love the simple concept. Made me play quite a while (is there an ending? Never was circulitious enough) before I had to stop. good job!

Gr0wth by Colisan 2012-08-30T14:38:00

I enjoyed playing this! Didn't think it's too hard. Challenging but not too hard. Nice!

Challenge Evolve by Brodex 2012-08-27T16:28:00

The fact that you can only move up or down or left or right and nothing in between or at the same time is really getting on my nerves.

Clever Blocks by Cthulhu 2012-09-01T13:21:00

Fun to play! Some things that I thought while playing: Maybe it would be nice if the blocks that get "consumed" would not be integrated into a rectangular layout but keep their form and the players block would form some "weird" shape after a while. Maybe that would look interesting :) Hope you get what I mean :) This would also make it more difficult to dodge the death blocks. Nice game for 24h!

kinetic dream by mdkess 2012-08-28T07:38:00

I really liked your simple but pretty particle effects. I didn't like the weapon you start with, because the first projectile doesn't collide with the enemies. That means you always have to stay at a certain distance to hit them. Nevertheless it plays really nice and has a lot of working features. Good job!

ANT FIGHT CLUB by gamblore 2012-09-02T09:25:00

Runs fine on my DesireHD. Unfortunately I couldn't make out any differences between the colonies on the title screen. I played around with this for a while, but usually I ended up with wanting too much, and killed my colony with some colored liquids ;) I think the idea is really good, but the fights themselves are a bit boring. For future enhancement you should make this really large shogun style colony battles ;) Oh, and I suggest to add an QR Code as one of your screenshots so it's easier to get the game onto their device.

Adventurers Evolution by Thurig 2012-08-30T09:51:00

I really like the personality and love you put into this game. Reading your post-mortem and description it's nearly impossible to not like it :) The game itself definitely would be much better if it has a combat system. That would bring much more transparency into the stats and as a result dying to a zombie would not feel so random. Making the player a disposable thing that needs to be sacrificed to proceed in the game is something that I haven't come along in this way yet. (In know, seeing the dad as disposable is not your interpretation of your game, but that's what it is like from a game-mechanical point of view). I finaly have to admit that I wished the graphics would be nicer and that there was some sound. But anyway: a great idea.

Dr. Helix by SecondDimension 2012-09-01T15:18:00

I loved it! You could even use things to your tactical advantage. One of my favorite interpretations of the theme so far. good job!

They Are Coming! by Gryxitl 2012-09-04T06:21:00

The visual style, as much as I love it, makes it hard to figure out where you already have been and where you want to go. Shooting hordes of enemies was fun. I found it a bit tedious to destroy the enemy-spawner-things. The music is awesome and suits the game very well. Overall a great entry!

Mutating Scales by golex 2012-08-27T02:52:00

I really liked your game. For me it is clear that you put a lot effort into this game. I really like the decisions that the player is able to make, and somewhat this game has something, not only the little details that make it worth trying.

The bloody princess of Ludumia by khoa 2012-09-02T09:33:00

I love how this game-play makes use of the selection mechanism in a very simplistic way. Despite me hating people who kill others because they didn't like their face, the game was really enjoyable for a short while.

Devolution by x3zinja12 2012-09-16T17:12:00

I liked the idea that they use C4 to destroy the planet, as well as the inverse "stop the evolution" idea ;)

but I had some troubles playing this:
* 'R' doesn't reset the level ;)
* The stones are hard to distinguish from the rest of the ground which, in the beginning, made me wonder why I can't move to "certain directions"
* Any feedback on hitting enemies would have made this much more enjoyable. Even if it had only been a red square being shown at the monsters position for a short duration or sth. alike. As it is now, it's really hard to tell if you are being hit (which is shown by you jumping away for a few px) or if you hit sth. else (which is shown by "sth. else" jumping away for a few px).
* Once you are hit by an enemy it seems there is no way to evade or block the enemy. It just keeps punching, evil thing!
* I don't think anyone will play this for 30 minutes (which is roughly the time that the timer indicates is needed to win the game). Maybe you should have chosen a shorter duration that one has to protect the bomb to give the game an achievable goal.

Evoquarium by EnigmaBlade 2012-09-01T09:48:00

I liked the evolutionary part on it. I didn't like how random it was. After playing a while i started cheating, but in the end there was not more to be done, so I left. Overall its really a nice game that just lacks the meta goal.

Lab Experiment Demo by Threef 2012-08-31T13:24:00

Great take on the theme. The music is the most annoying thing to me in this game. But plays nice being muted too. Love the look of your game and it was a lot of fun playing.

terravolve by Vordux 2012-08-27T16:16:00

Unfortunatly I had so much trouble to recognize which continent is which that I couldn't enjoy it. The controls really made me angry. The basic idea is great, but the controls made it impossible to play.

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-27T03:20:00

Sorry for your trouble, I am investigating your Issues. Maybe it's a java version issue. Compiled the jar with java 1.6 because of libgdx/android compatibility. Could imagine that this is the issue. I will update it to a Java 1.7 version. If you happen to visit this again, please let me know if it helped (if not here, also possible via timtipgames@gmail.com).

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-27T04:13:00

I was able to reproduce the problem on my netbook. I am working out a solution.

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-27T10:45:00

The problem should now be solved. Please try again and let me know if it works!

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-27T17:41:00

As I cannot reproduce the problem some people have: If anyone feels like it, could he/she please send me a stacktrace to timtipgames@gmail.com?

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-29T14:46:00

Thank you all for your kind comments, they really mean a lot to me! I agree with the tutorial being too long. It basically is a symptom of me being unable to condense the game-play into something simpler, and a lack of user feedback, given the time.

I also agree with the mechanics to change the positions. Putting all plants closer to each other made me realize two things: a) The time to stop fireflies from flying to your plant became to short because they reached them very fast. b) The many information on the screen and the resulting feeling of "what is going on here" got even worse. I could have slowed the fireflies but that looked awkward. Still - the game mechanics didn’t end up where I would have liked them to be. This also results in the problem that mdkess very precisely describes as “I thought that the feedback loop wasn't really present”. Thats true and I will try to do better on my next LD game. Thank you for your input on these things!

So I really understand and welcome the criticism, and I wish I would have had the time and also a brilliant idea on how to change these things last weekend. But I did not :) I will definitely keep on working on this game after LD (I have a vision of something bigger, taking this as a good point to start from). Once I start to, I will add the link here.

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-08-30T06:01:00

Hi Chezzo, to avoid that issue there is a link in the description that let's you directly download the apk to your device and install it from there. You need to enable the installation of unsigned sources for it to work. Its in the menu Settings->Applications->Unkown Sources. Once that is enabled just type this url in your kindles browser and install the game: http://www.timtips.com/downloads/Firefly.apk Let me know if you need further assistance :) Best, Tim

Firefly by timtipgames 2012-09-02T14:27:00

The Evolution Of Stars by Dadeyemi 2012-08-28T16:52:00

really beatiful. I would have liked to read all the explanations, but sometimes they dissapeared to fast.

AGAIN Corp: Adaptive Genetic Artificially Initiated Corporation by CapGrip 2012-09-01T15:57:00

This is an awesome game. It's one of the best looking games in the jam I came along until now. And that's not only because of the interesting lighting but because the whole setting is just somewhat different. The sounds really make the atmosphere very dense. The gameplay is unfortunately pretty bugged for me (Is the link above, or the link in the comments the one that I should play to rate?). I would love to play this game again once the bugs are not that dominant.

Probes of fury by zeoverlord 2012-09-01T10:47:00

The game has some serious graphic issues on my PC. I uploaded a screen of what it looks like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/1vtxhvxw4oohgdj/probesOfTriangulation.png
I like how the hovering feels. I could barely see the bullets.

Neural Nodes by Kmad 2012-09-01T11:51:00

Really nice game. I was close to winning when I clicked on the mutate button of my only speed-minion by accident. Couldn't transform him or any of the others back to speed and could therefore not capture any other nodes. The art-style, and the fact that this takes place on a giant monsters back in space, makes this a top game. I just wish it had some more of the features, but we all know how unforgiving time can be :) Good job!

8-Bit Big Bang (that was the origonal name, I never changed it, it was 8-bit) by Generalgore 2012-09-02T15:23:00

I was able to run the game just fine with the converter (Win7 64bit). And what should I say: I loved it! I think it doesn't need much explanation. The only thing that nearly made me leave was that the first three times that I started a game, I was killed before the camera had even zoomed in on me. Beside that, I really liked the game-play. All those things that happen around the player make the game-world feel really alive. So all others: Don't hesitate to use the converter (it's really just a simple click) and play this. It's worth it. Good job!

The Evolution Of The BlobFish by metaldemon 2012-08-27T14:57:00

The game won't start on my PC. Windows 7 64Bit. When I click either of the two executables (why are there 2 of them?) nothing happens. No error displayed.

This is one of the best looking games that I have come along in LD24 so far. The break-beat music suits the style very well. The difficulty is really high, but I personally appreciate that. Darth Vader really made me laugh :) Overall a great game.
One issue that I came along: When you die while firing the laser, the sound repeats indefinitely until you get the laser weapon once again.

Awareness by jefrsilva 2012-09-16T17:35:00

I only understood this after reading your instructions/post mortem post.

First: I hope this is the first and last time in my life that I reproduced without being aware of it and reading about it in a blog for the first time :)

But seriously: I personally think that the idea is brilliant . I agree that some games really are fun _because_ you need to figure out yourself what and how to do things but maybe your game is a bit too extreme in this sense.

Nevertheless I was able to figure out some mechanics and reproduced (without knowing it) and died eventually (without knowing why) when I only was able to "hear" and started over. I got this "line-thing-direction-sense" on my next try and died very unexpectedly. I played several times actually ;) So what I really like about the idea is how the game translates the visual and audio sensory inputs into sth else that the player has to explore and understand in order to proceed. What I didn't like is the lack of information in the beginning. I understood most of what I did only later when I read your blog entry. A short introduction or tutorial would have been really nice.

All in all I really really enjoyed this experimental game!

Flower Farmer by HomicidalChris 2012-09-01T11:19:00

I have to agree that watering the plants individually every day is a very repetitive task :) I was just reading your explanation and initial plans in the comments. I think a feeling for progress is completely missing because you start with a full garden. If you started with just a single plant it would have been much more fun I think. My game (48h compo) also makes you cultivate plants btw. But I think they are completely different :)

Robolution by mr_moeman 2012-09-01T11:09:00

I liked the mech in the water. It got a bit boring to get the last upgrades. Jumping did not work as expected sometimes. I can see you spent quite some time to model it and the retro-look is somehow charming :)

Mytosys by NexusSteve 2012-08-27T10:51:00

I agree with aschearer, the background and the audio add to a nice atmosphere. Floating seemed repeatedly not to work in early stages of the game. Later it worked without problem. Maybe it was only my bad timing :)

Grow by Skypeians 2012-08-31T13:45:00

The bird was really impressive, nice idea. Unfortunately I can't really be friends with the idea that fish shoot... feels not very integrated with what is otherwise a nice atmosphere. Music would have made it even better. But I don't want to imagine a sfxr laser sound when the fish shoots... ;) I also experienced some stuttering every now and then. I think it respawned things or sth by that time? The fish's animation didn't look very good when he was very big. Anyways: Good job!

This is a super interesting concept. I think you could really use this as a good starting point for a game with more features. but if you decide to extend this, I highly recommend to get away from an "all code in one cpp file" style of programming :) Really nice game!

Worm by Imosa 2012-09-01T11:26:00

I really really really don't understand what's going on here. Unfortunately your description could not change that. Could you please explain more? How do genes influence branching? What's L and R? Do I have to study biology to understand this? I will revisit this and hope that I can better judge by then :)

Survival Sea by Xaconi 2012-09-01T11:58:00

There is a sweet spot which will let you survive indefinitely. Before discovering that, I could never survive longer that 5 seconds ;) It's really fast (maybe too fast) and it feels as if there is not always enough room to dodge the objects. I liked the simple graphics somehow :)

Lab (R)Evolution by JacksGamesSucks 2012-09-01T16:23:00

I think the idea you had in mind is pretty good. Especially the addition of enemies is a plus. I was standing next to one and two walls were between us. Next second the walls were gone ;) This could develop into some really interesting gameplay. Too bad you didn't finish it. Hope to see a game from you next time!

EVOLUTION OF AN ORGANISM by thelordpineapple 2012-09-01T12:04:00

funny comments ;) controls really clunky.

Cell evolution simulator by EinBernd 2012-08-28T09:21:00

I have to agree that the help isnt really helpful. I finally was able to spawn life and played around with it for 20 minutes. Its a nice little, well, call it simvolution. I find it hard to call it a game. I defined myself the goal to get cells that don't need food to survive. I got them. But something is missing.

EscortBat by arcticleaf 2012-09-01T12:15:00

I like this game, but why do those souls stop following, that's super annoying!

I Am Dinosaur by Auron2030 2012-09-01T12:10:00

This is actually pretty funny because of its setting. Eating caveman is fun i guess :) The look is somehow charming, I wish it had animations instead of static pictures.

Space Rig Zeta by AaronLee 2012-09-01T13:14:00

the music drove me crazy ;) I loooove how the stars establish the feeling for speed. Navigation was super difficult for me though. When I played the first times, I got lost in the depths of space a few times. Some of the power-ups were really bad in comparison to what I had equipped before :-/ In the end, I really enjoyed this game!

Socket City by SethR 2012-08-28T09:45:00

Nice game. I also liked the tactical possibilities. I didn't like that my guns could shoot my city ;)

Squid-wyn Happily Cleans Up Creationist Propaganda by pansapiens 2012-09-01T10:06:00

I loved how the legs behaved to forces. The thing reminded me a bit of these seeking things in matrix (forgot what they were called). The legs on the other hand made me remember these small figures where you could push the bottom of the stand where they were mounted on, and that would loose the strings that keeps them in position (lol, really hard to describe that in a language that's not your native). Anyway: I loved the atmosphere and it was fun to fly around (although rolling confused me for a while, shouldn't become a pilot I guess). I wish there was a goal.

PEB 2012 by madpew 2012-08-27T14:54:00

Fun interpretation of the theme ;) Really liked the voiceover+bgmusic+audience sound-arrangement :)

Asteroid Worms by Pixelgel 2012-09-01T12:54:00

It was quite fun to shoot some worm-heads for a while. I really liked that the worms dead bodies didn't disappear. I agree with garygreen - it was really creepy when you moved a bit and were facing a larger group of worms :) Wish it had some more features.

Many Mans and the Mutant Clones from Space by Jamin 2012-08-31T12:57:00

I'd like to survive longer than 15 seconds :( Sometimes the shooting failed for me (although the bullets showed I could shoot). Would have loved to see this with more features.

The Last Slime by AstralCalculus 2012-09-01T12:40:00

Wow, this is really nice (and worked for me on Win7 64bit)! Very minecraft-like graphics. Unfortunately the game is far too difficult for me. I could only defeat one goblin before dying. I also tried sneeking around to find more crystals before getting into a fight, but that didn't work out well. I think it is not so good that the melee attack doesn't have an animation, so its hard to tell if you ran out of crystals. Therefore magic works much better. Nevertheless, this game deserves much more attention! Great game! (I'll keep on playing for a while and will see if I can get rid of those nasty goblins)

Beetlefield : The Forecast by Benjamin 2012-08-30T11:58:00

this game is brilliant. Great gfx, funny and addictive idea.

Strike of Rage ! by deepnight 2012-08-27T16:32:00

Great game. The art is as well done as the game mechanics. Feels good to play!

SEW by Cell 2012-08-27T17:29:00

Great game. The rounds are a bit long i think, and the towers are to weak later on. But the alpha-lighting brings a nice atmosphere to the game.

Dino Bones by EdgeOwl 2012-09-01T12:27:00

Was fun for a short time. I like the resolution choice and the pixel graphics. Got repetitive after a while. Some sounds and a rewarding animation when finding the bones would have been a nice addition.

EvoWord by jovoc 2012-08-30T06:02:00

Hey there, I'd like to play and rate this game, but I can't find out how to interact? Which keys are used for what? Sounds like a promising idea :)

Cellular by EmberCloud 2012-09-01T16:34:00

I really liked your game! After a while no more enemies spawned. That's normal I guess? I liked the update choices, and also the visuals are nice. The idea to let everything take place in a petri-dish was quite amusing and fitted the games theme very well. Good job!

Dr. Ludum's Evolving Androids by TechnoBulldog 2012-09-02T06:03:00

I agree that it is too hard. I would have liked to gain more abilities, but I couldn't survive long enough. Movement seems to be limited to at least one boxes width right? So I can't stand between two tiles? From a very quick look at your code it seems that your collision detection will always center you in the middle of a box horizontally. That felt weird for me somehow. But maybe it's a design decision :) For 48h and not much experience, I really think its not that bad. And I personally think people underestimate how difficult it is to do the programming for a really good platformer. It get's easier if you have done it once though (that's just my experience, people might disagree).

Upsurge by Bloodyaugust 2012-08-30T06:26:00

I really don't see where this is different from any common tower defense game (Beside it being not balanced at all)? The evolving AI is hardly observable when building 8 towers in a row will be enough to kill everything that passes for hours (thats what i did). Changing weapon type doesn't seem to have an effect for me. Upsurge only seemd to work randomly. Did I miss something?

EVE by chipcaramel 2012-09-01T13:07:00

You had me with the intro. Super cute and nicely drawn :) I felt a bit lost in the game though. It plays nicely but I didn't know what the goal would be. The bats were super hard to kill. When using a ladder sometimes you would come out directly on top of an enemy. Hard to survive that way :) Anyway, it was fun!

ExoSlime by leafo 2012-08-30T06:21:00

I really liked your game. I agree that the player weapon wasn't the most fun part of the game. The graphics are really nice and I liked the variation to it. I also liked the music which had a really catchy part in it ;) Please don't take this too seriously, but why does the game look so good and the title screen so ridicolous? ;)

Aqualution by alexandervrs 2012-08-28T13:10:00

This was a beautiful and relaxing experience :) I just couldn't overcome the giant jellyfish :( Otherwise a great and fun to play game!

Evolver.exe + Src! by Uhfgood 2012-08-27T15:17:00

This game creates a game on its own. As the game.window closes frequently when the small box hits the large box, one really wants to solve the question: "how can I win this thing" before you have to start it over again. Nevertheless I was unable to find out what the hell is going on with it. Seemed rather undeterministic and such. Maybe this is an intelligence test that I didn't pass? I nevertheless spent more time with this game than with most of the others I have rated yet ;) Probably people who win this game, are the next step of evolution. So theme is present somehow :)

3 Little Pigs by brita_ 2012-08-27T11:18:00

I liked the idea that you have to overcome physics to get to the delicious sheeps :) The first to levels were a bit to easy while the last was best imho. The end-screens were really funny :) If you hadn't told me I probably wouldn't have found out how to get to the second ending.

The World Tree by shinD 2012-08-28T16:37:00

Very nice atmosphere. I also liked the gameplay and the endsequence. Some sounds were rapidly interrupted some times. When I played the first time, the third bell didnt appear. I restarted the game and I was able to finish it.

Bubblution by geecee3 2012-08-27T15:41:00

Fun to play, but the concept isn't very innovative to be honest :)

Tree by Canyon 2012-08-27T15:28:00

Well, not really a game i guess. The controlls failed to work sometimes which made me stop playing around.

Evolution VS 1000 kittens by Citiral 2012-09-01T13:35:00

I liked the tech tree. Played the compo version for rating. I understand why you made things cheaper in the post-compo version :) Overall I think its a good game.

Unevolved by Gameko 2012-08-31T13:02:00

Too bad there is no gameplay. I liked the graphics. The music didn't fit the theme imho. Should have invested that time in at least one level and some more evolution steps :) I also agree that gravity is too low. Hope to see a full game from you next time!

Sprout by cadin 2012-09-01T15:47:00

Very simple, but addictive idea. Also very well presented. I played more than once :) I would have liked if the later development stages would feel "bigger" if you know what I mean :) All in all really nice.

Project "E" by RobProductions 2012-09-17T12:19:00

This was fun playing! I agree with some of the comments, it was a bit too easy and some backtracking parts made me wish there was a sprint-key :) Beside that, the simple and clean style together with the good music created a nice trip :) Good job!

Wormelution by cappelnord 2012-09-01T15:35:00

I don't know what it is, but I just made love with it! I really love the concept. The shaders are really nice and I like how the mechanics work. I wish it was easier to see if a mating would be beneficial, because sometimes I fell in love with a worm that looked good, but it turned out it was a really bad influence for me (but isn't that how it goes ;)). Overall: A really nice entry.

Trinity Labs by Gareth Jenkins 2012-09-02T09:01:00

This is great because it is different. Unfortunately there is one or two bugs that really bothered me: Velocity on a object doesn't reset when I grab it. So it may float away while I am holding it. And (partly as a result) objects may float out of screen (I lost the final result in level 5 before I could put it onto the petri-dish due to unforeseeable velocity changes. Beside that it was a lot of fun. I changed strategies after level 3 (won't tell them as I think this exploratory part of the game is what makes it good). It's a bit tedious to get the higher level objects if you stick to the "match 3 to get 1 higher" concept. But one doesn't have to. A great puzzle game with really nice atmosphere.

Cave Creature by defiantburrito 2012-09-17T05:40:00

Same here, got a little bored from the combat after a while. Also was missing some way to heal or avoid being hit more reliably. In my opinion, it doesn't matter how trivial the goal in the game might be, but you should set one.

Species by mappum 2012-08-28T07:09:00

Agree that the walking sound gets a little bit annoying. I really liked the "slenderman is watching you without eyes" thing. It accomplished to actually shock me once when it suddenly appeared next to me. The sound for it was fitting very well i find. The lighting effect has some rough edges that would need some attention imho. Overall: It was fun to play, and I played it to the end :)

Evolve Larry by gregdevice 2012-09-17T12:03:00

I like the simplicity of this game. I think you did very well in setting a smaller scope to deal with and actually get it done by 48h. I think the game-play is a bit too easy and gets a bit repetitive after a while, but the cute graphics and the relaxing music make it worthwhile at least once. Good job!

One Last Chance by recursive frog 2012-09-17T07:16:00

Very nice concept! I love the recursive phone in a phone(tablet) concept. The font was a little hard to read on my transformer (tf101). When I was playing this for the first time I was sitting in the waiting room of a doctor I was about to see. After turning around a bit, I decided to better play this at home. People were already looking at me as if I was crazy (or came from the future). Again: Virtual augmented reality is a pretty nice idea! Keep up the good work!

Disease by lesterpig 2012-09-17T13:00:00

I think it takes far to long to reach rooms where something is going on. The slope room (the one with the endless-S shape that is already on the far left screenshot) was a torture ;) I wish one wouldn't have to wait so long for something to happen. And given the travel-speed it's really merely waiting. Really a pity because I liked the graphics-style and the really good music a lot. I wish this was a more exiting experience :)

Uberlution by Robotic 2012-08-30T06:37:00

Mnumnumnumnumnum! I loved this game. It was really fun to mnumnumnnumnum all the others. The ending is hilarious ;) Looks great. I personally would have made the players light fade out to the edges more, but thats really just personal preference. Really, great job!

Think a Bit by acsantana 2012-08-31T12:44:00

This is really testing my patience ... I'll keep on trying for a while. I want to see the later levels ;)

Think a Bit by acsantana 2012-08-31T12:53:00

OK I guess I can't reach the later levels, can I? I collected all thingies that I could, grew a bit when I collected the seventh out of six(?) and couldn't progress. I have to agree that the controls are really a bit frustrating sometimes. I enjoyed the jumping though, when I just kept pressing UP. Looked like I'm on the moon. I really would have liked to play further (although it took me a lot of trials to "finish" the first level). I had a good laugh when the first screen contains a "NullPointerException Overflow". I never had a NPE Overflow, but I can Imagine how that feels ;)

Dinolution by The Evil Cult 2012-09-02T08:37:00

I enjoyed playing this. I connected my xbox360 controller because I thought the keyboard control is bugged, but I think there is a general bug concerning jumping: Sometimes the dino "stutters" above the platform/ground and the game logic doesn't allow me to jump in this state. After a short while the dino stands still and jump can be triggered again. This led to some involuntary deaths while jumping fro platform to platform :) I liked the graphics and the music (also the underwater effect was really nice, although not used enough imo). I felt like it was too much inspired by super mario or classics alike, but overall it was really a fun game to play.

Hortus by amodo 2012-08-31T15:35:00

I wish you had made more of it. Screw you, fever! It's really nice, just gets very boring due to the lack of game-play.

Constructor by link2x101 2012-08-27T15:35:00

At first I had some trouble finding the menu. the graphics are fine and somehow their actually is a certain mood to the game (mainly through the music i guess). I actually spent much time waiting for my balance to recover from the montly debt hit :)

the kitten counter is awesome ;)

LD25 — You are the Villain

Bunnie by Dmitrix 2012-12-18T16:13:00

I just dropped the .love file on the exe that is in the "love" subfolder. I liked the main character design really much. The jumping is also smooth. Unfortunately that's all that there is to do, right?

Lunar Frenzy by Fireblend 2012-12-17T14:49:00

to many miiiiines! Performed well on HTC DesireHD. Nice idea. Especially the shaking part. Very difficult though because when you hit a mine and need to shake, you hit so many other mines that eventually you'll have a yellow one on you. Could be circumvented by requiring you to shake the actual phone instead of the avatar. That would only work for android though. Love to see a touch-controled game in LD.

Fisticuffs by SiENcE 2012-12-21T15:09:00

I really like the visual style, but I think that there is not enough possibility to influence the game beyond pushing your button. Or to put it different: Maybe there is an interesting way of "playing" this game, but than the "rules" on how the spawn timing influences the game-play are far too difficult to discover (at least for me). It's unclear who wins a duel once two players start fighting and under which conditions. If I had known that, I would at least be able to decide what kind of "meta-game" strategy would be beneficial to me. Don't get me wrong, I really like the idea of an indirect game-play through some kind of meta-game, but I just miss knowledge of the rules that would make it work here. Maybe add some more guidance? :) If its all random, it still makes a perfect drinking game :)

Cinders by Nick Cash 2012-12-21T10:37:00

This was sick. And fun. Loved the animations and the scream-sounds. Also liked how a burning tree could grow into a burning forest :) Well done!

Villaintris by Birchmountain 2012-12-17T21:25:00

This idea is brilliant. Took me a while to find out how to change the pieces. I am looking forward to fooling my colleagues at work tomorrow :)

You Are The Invader by juaxix 2012-12-17T04:38:00

First off: Goats in space are everything humanity needs.
That said: I wonder why you chose such an uncommon input method for a desktop game. It surely makes sense on a touchscreen device, but it made things rather difficult. Also it would be nice to have some kind of visual feedback on wether I killed something or not. Visually, I really really liked the game.

Flight of the Abductor by enfyrneaux 2012-12-17T04:18:00

Tested on a Asus Transformer TF101 (Tegra2). Also plays nice. I agree gyro would be the perfect addition I think :) Also the gameplay could be improved by more variance. Nevertheless a nice use of physics! Well done.

Dance Man by MrEvilGuy 2012-12-21T10:09:00

If there should ever be someone telling me that games are not art, I'll show him this.

Mister Misbehave by arhpositive 2012-12-18T14:59:00

I agree with your post-mortem, that the texts describing your actions are the best feature of the game. You slap heidi in the face ... I was literally laughing out loudly ;) Other than that I would like to see aversion with more animations and some not-tile-restricted movement. It might be funny to read out the texts aloud as some kind of offscreen-comment so you can focus on the game while getting told what you just did.

Brobulon the Terrible by angrybearcrossup 2012-12-19T18:50:00

Fun game to play! I usually don't play these kind of games much, but this one was actually really fun. I liked how you implemented these slow projectiles that would actually give you some time to plan a route to escape them. Got a bit repetitive after a few levels, but nevertheless I am happy to see a game with mechanics that work (although they are not that innovative ;)) Well done!

Mr Toothy by psychopsam 2012-12-17T20:50:00

Well, i think its all a matter of perspective. And the games is really weird. I really liked the sharks mouth animation!
Also the controlls are really really really hard to master. Why didn't you use the keyboard? I ate 1000 points worth of swimmers though :)

The Red Hood by OrangeeZ 2012-12-21T14:38:00

I did not read the description but started playing right away, and I was pleasantly surprised about the turn the game made once it became night :) Also very nice graphics and models. Really well done!

Oh and I put the jar file of my post-compo version, that you asked for on the page. Sorry to hear that you had trouble starting the applet for the post-compo version. If it still doesn't work please let me know (timtipgames(at)gmail.com)

Big Bad Wolf by Dir3kt 2012-12-21T14:43:00

I liked the graphics and "feel" of the character movements actually. Maybe a bit too much gravity, but still - plays good for me. The game gets ab it repetitive after a while, but that's pretty common given the time constraints :) All in all, really well done. Oh, and libgdx rocks :)

A Light To Kill By by Mythalore 2012-12-17T21:55:00

Great game. I had trouble to proceed after picking up the gun. Had to find out that you can actually lay it back so that you can pick up the screwdriver. I also missed a clue because I shot the wrong man at first ;) This was fun.

Fearless by lekochen 2012-12-21T15:19:00

This was awesome. Very nice and innovative game-mechanics. Loved that there are at least two ways to play the game (maybe more, but I found two endings). Really well done!

Growth by Manuel 2012-12-17T03:32:00

I do not really get it. Cancer? Ok. nice take on the theme. But if there is any interaction I couldn't find it. Once started everything happens on its own (at least thats what it feels like to me)

BAD MOTHA... Nature! by Freakill 2012-12-17T04:13:00

The overall idea is really nice I think. It was fun to let airplanes crash into "buildings/cities" :) It would have been nice if the score would have been displayed during gameplay. Also some documentation about combos and what amount of points they are worth would be nice. I was wandering why I couldnt let ships crash into a "building" by a current. Nevertheless, an interesting title!

A Villain's Demise by monomanio 2012-12-19T20:32:00

I really dig this game. It's so - complete :)

Villainous by JPatrick 2012-12-21T10:15:00

works fine win 7 64bit. Unfortunately, would have loved to send you a stacktrace ;)
Liked the game. There is some glitch with the bow that would make the projectiles stick to the main character instead of flying around. I also think the firebomb is far too powerful in relation to the other weapons. It has a flow to it though :) Scored ~7000 points.

Bad Kitty by aare 2012-12-18T16:25:00

Fun ;) Like the handdrawn graphics, can imagine that it took you quite a while to get this done.

Makarun by timtipgames 2012-12-17T04:34:00

Thanks for your honest comments!
The locking thing Arakade describes is actually a bug that someone reported once, but I couldnt reproduce it. Normally you should be able to move, aim and jump all at the same time.

Makarun by timtipgames 2012-12-21T15:10:00

You are welcome, thanks for your interest in it :)
And thanks everyone else for their suggestions and comments. Keep them coming :)

Demons in Dungeons by blay09 2012-12-17T14:25:00

I must say I really dig this game. I agree with a lot of the other comments on usability and explanations. But if I keep in mind that this was done in 48h, it is really a large number of features implemented and it is actually working as a game. Well done!

against your past by Tepuzquiquiztli 2012-12-19T19:06:00

Somehow this game reminds me of some entries I played during last LD :) Nevertheless I like the mechanic and really dig the graphic-style. For me it was a bit too hard / or not rewarding enough. good work!

Break In by filtoid 2012-12-17T20:58:00

you got me with "army of goats with lasers" ;) I loved the "pew pew" at the end. Overall this game really lived by its compelling storyline.

Silent night by krutech 2012-12-18T08:56:00

Hey guys, very nice game you made! I found the snow outside a bit disturbing but other than that I really liked the graphics. The gameplay has a nice speed to it.
I really am a fan of the line-of-sight concept - so no surprise that I made a very similar game to this (for the compo though). Check it out and let me know what you think :)

Micro Mob by chrismwaite 2012-12-17T22:09:00

Great game and its even complete. Thats rarely found under all the compo games and given that you said this is your first compo ever - well done! I actually played this quite a while without reading your detailed instructions and it was fine.
I agree though, that you should put the instructions into the description of your game - right under the links.

Castle of Doom by vivavolt 2012-12-17T03:48:00

Your audio-work is awesome ;)
The basic game mechanics are really nice. It is really difficult though. It feels like one has to be nearly perfect to reach the next level. Also the cannons feel a bit unbalanced because they can do the majority of damage.
But the "handdrawn-graphics" together with the unique sounds make it really a nice game to play.

Renegade Theologian by rpgwhitelock 2012-12-19T18:00:00

too bad its so short. I love the atmosphere and shivered when I heard the deep bass sound from "activating" a book for the first time. Also it has no goats. ;) Nice work!

Oil Co Exploits by Arakade 2012-12-17T18:51:00

Same as everyone else. Not working yet. I put this game to the end of my queue to revisit it. Haven't rated this. Maybe you could explain a bit? Or just confirm that there is no interaction?

You are the Evil Overlord by Worse 2012-12-17T21:05:00

I really like the idea of a semi-passive control over what is happening. Unfortunately the feedback was really hard to read (not the font, I mean the result of your actions). So after several trials I gave up. Also because the nice to read texts became repetitive.

Sir Mastery of Dickery by Xheis 2012-12-17T14:32:00

Webversion just links to a dropboxfolder. Clicking the webplayer html made it download it. Used the desktop version.

Nice game. Loved the fact that you're walking backwards ;) Missed some goats. Also found it far too easy. Somehow I found the weird mix of graphical styles very appealing.

Seamonster Supper by hdon 2012-12-17T03:15:00

I guess you are right. This one's in the bag ;)

The Day Before by HardScore 2012-12-17T21:31:00

I think what your art needs is a bit more thought on lighting. In my hopinion things need some kind of depth information even in an 2d pixel art platformer (unless you go totally abstract). But thats just my opinion, and you kind of asked for it ;)
I also got shot badly the first time I approached the bad guy. Panic-Princess is funny ;)

Plane of Misery by gregfagan 2012-12-18T09:06:00

Great game! Nice puzzler thats easy to get but hard to master. Nice graphics. Interesting setting (at least for a puzzle game). And a very nice take on the theme. Made me remember my last 10hours flight :) Well done!

Balloon Frenzy 4: Turbo Edition by theRestlessTaxidermists 2012-12-18T08:59:00

Very funny indeed. Would have loved some sound :)

Snap by fishbrain 2012-12-21T14:32:00

I felt so bad playing this game, that even rating it high (which I did) feels wrong. Well done.

Greed by Gib 2012-12-17T16:12:00

Great great great idea. Agree that the game itself is quite repetitive. 5 Stars for Innovation anyways.

Space Restaurant by Cell 2012-12-17T21:11:00

I really like your style of drawing. Been following you on facebook since the last LD and really liked the stuff you posted.
Music was fine but nail-gun sound was making me turn off sound quickly.
Gameplay: Amusing for a short while. But no longer I guess.
Oh and theme - well it doesn't even have goats, does it ? :)

Maiden Muncher Hero Cruncher by solidplasma 2012-12-17T04:01:00

I am happy that you could recover from your crash (or your PCs crash :))

The overall idea looks quite nice. I used the "slow" attack types which yelds more minions in a fight, right? But maybe I missed something. Because after a while of fighting the hero still had a lot of hitpoints and my patience was about to end because it got rather repetitive.

Thanks for rating my game btw!

Do Not Help The Princess by sharbelfs 2012-12-21T14:25:00

This was fun :) I found it actually quite hard and played a couple of times to not run out of money after the second knight :) Nice and clean graphics too.

DR. MADDOC Takes Over The World and Kills 3D Forever by jsmars 2012-12-18T15:27:00

This made my day. Couldn't stop laughing. Love how everything has a (mostly funny) description. Made me explore everything. I also enjoyed the graphics a lot. I made a somewhat similar game in the sense of sneaking around. Well done!

Kleptomaniac by Sanguine 2012-12-21T14:59:00

The walk animation made me laugh so hard, that I didn't even notice any control-flaws :) I actually had quite some fun playing this.

AnteChristmas by nSun 2012-12-21T10:56:00

Back to childhood with this game :) You really matched the simplicity of these devices games. Also like how the sound-effects match. I agree, that a loosing condition would have been nice, but I also understand the lack of time and the priority to finish upper-screen gameplay. All in all really nice.

HitlerZilla by DavidErosa 2012-12-19T18:11:00

Funny game ;) Also loved the hud, once I realized what "the black thing on the bottom" is meant to be ;) I especially like d the details. E.g. how the people fell when I stomped. Well done!

Goatstar by shinD 2012-12-19T17:35:00

Same for me here. Couldn't shoot. I'm on a german keyboard layout (y and z are swapped) but that shouldn't be the reason I am unable to shoot at all right? I mean I think I shot twice, but It felt really undeterministic and it could just have been an random event ;) I'll revisit to see if you were able to find the reason for this.

Illegal Crime Game by angrygeometry 2012-12-21T10:30:00

Fun to play and quite some content. I thinkg the music was really great! Well done. Oh, sending this from public prison-wlan of course.

Eaten by wzl 2012-12-17T14:38:00

Sounds are great and I really like the overall idea as well as the minimalistic graphics. Wish it had a winning condition though :) Following you on twitter now to hear about a post-compo version.

Splonet by Nanofus 2012-12-19T18:06:00

Nice game. A little short and probably not much "skill" or thinking required. Just button spamming was sucessful for me ;) Liked the atmosphere and had no problem with the color :) Good job!

Acidman by Stavu 2012-12-21T11:08:00

Nice game. I really like the idea behind each level. Given the simplicity of the main game mechanic, that's probably the most important point to keep it interesting (just my opinion). I can only speak for myself, but I was actually disapointed that the game was ending so soon. Would have played much longer otherwise :) Well done

Trip of Doom by Nonakesh 2012-12-17T03:21:00

I really like the composition of your 3d-assets with the cell-shading look. I wish there were more explosions (har har) and some kind of goal or meta-business. The feedback on when you can jump again and what your "rage-level" is, was so subtle that I didn't even realize that something is changing ;) Nevertheless, nice work.

Sheep Barbecue by bompo 2012-12-19T20:42:00

There are sooo many nice little things in this game! The music that plays only when you move e.g. is a really nice idea. Really makes you feel like the bugs bunny coyote ;) I also like the look of things. Well done :) Oh had to download the jar btw. the applet didn't work. Just a white screen. Here's a stacktrace, hope that helps: http://pastebin.com/8fsNM9EH

I agree with the other comments. Very nice adaption of Qix to the theme. I really dig the clean graphic style. What I personally like most though, is the name :) Well done! Oh, and thanks for your nice comment on my game. Glad you liked it. I will try the control scheme option you suggested.

The deathray by strong99 2012-12-19T17:54:00

Really really hard, but something about it kept me playing again and again. In the end I was unable to fulfill the evil plan unfortunately :( I think I'll just take my pet and fly to another planet with a shuttle and let the station crash on philadelphia ;) Great work!

Dig-Dug Dungeon by bigbadwofl 2012-12-17T19:11:00

I love what I have seen. Unfortunately it froze after a while and even after 10 minutes it is still not responsive at all. The music is awesome.

Unhappy Holidays! by GeorgeBroussard 2012-12-19T19:15:00

Fun fun fun. I hate christmas, so I played again without finishing. It's amazing how entertaining a really simple game can be, if done right. Well done!

The Day Before Monkeymass by Lashiz121 2012-12-19T18:17:00

The game looks a bit as if it was designed to demonstrate the basics of blender ;) Found it funny for a shortwhile, but I couldn't find a difference in the colored projectiles or any goal to achieve. But I laughed while reading your description :)

LD26 — Minimalism

Motion by Pacifist Games 2013-04-29T15:30:00

Not much to add, nice game. I had appreciated an easier start, but once you get the idea it's flowing. Also like the music.

WhiteSpace by argo15 2013-04-30T11:07:00

Tried again, so here is what happens:
Pulsing doesn't show anything. World stays white. Only the circle is showing up sometimes. The pulse sound does play. Neither moving nor looking around does help.
Windows 7 64bit, Gfx ATI 7950. Will come back...

WhiteSpace by argo15 2013-05-02T05:45:00

Concerning the not working versions it doesn't seem to be a win8 but merely an ATI problem, doesn't it? :) Still wanna play this and will come back every now and then :)

Super Neo Tektropolis by vidarn 2013-04-29T17:32:00

The graphics... the style ..stunning! :) The gameplay is getting repetitive quickly :/

The Vale by Tyro 2013-04-29T15:25:00

I love the graphics, running it fullscreen was much better for my eyes :) you should add that info to your description :)
The game is a bit too challenging in the later parts for my taste. The charging mechanics and what you did with it regarding the level design is cool though.

SpeedJumper ! by Nakato 2013-04-29T12:13:00

Really really hard. Like the style though.

Block Runner by Flai 2013-04-30T20:29:00

another +1 for the editor.

XYZ by ataxkt 2013-04-29T18:37:00

Brilliant. The only problem I see in an otherwise very diverting game, is that it is too easy to reach the correct pattern by try and error. Maybe there could be a harder mode in which you have a finite number of steps to reach the desired shape. Also the underlying 3D volume should be easier to observe in order to be able to derive the right solution logically. Well done.

imy by Ditto 2013-04-29T11:47:00

This is awesome. Whatever your emotions were, I'm sure they are caught in this game forever. When the game was already over, I kept starring on the screen mesmerized for a while. Chapeau.

Shape Attack by Krise20 2013-04-29T14:35:00

I really like the game and the approach on the theme. When the game starts there a quite a lot of shapes and it's hard to avoid hitting the wrong ones. Also it's difficult to get the last one or two shapes when they are moving in random patterns :)

Tech Troop Tim's Big Pay Day by Guardian_Bob 2013-04-29T14:22:00

Like the game. Played and commented on your blog post when you posted a tech demo. I actually liked the pixel-style much better than the new look. But that's subjective :)

Line Knight by berareu 2013-04-30T12:25:00

@Nanolotl "In the sideways stage at one point everything went a lot darker than usual, not sure if that's meant to happen." Indeed it is. I didn't mention that because I thought it would be easy to see but you are not the only one wondering.
The more often you bump into red walls, the darker the ambient light gets.

MONO by timtipgames 2013-05-25T06:51:00

Hey springhere, I played around with an android build for a while, but I couldn't find a way to do the controls that I was happy with. Maybe I'll do some modifications to the levels to ease some of the most difficult parts to adapt for the higher lack of control. I am also not sure about screensize adaptation. But you are right, an Android version would be nice.

Huoheian by folmerkelly 2013-04-29T12:43:00

I dig the graphics and audio but the game itself is rather monotonous. I see that the enemies are there to narrow your movable space, but given the room layout all one needs is a 20x20 pixel area while standing in the middle of the room. That needs some improvement in my opinion. :)

Dropblocks by Doctor Broccoli 2013-04-29T17:12:00

I am glad that I found your instructions.txt in the rar file. It is a bit weird that you lose points when destroying blocks. So if you haven't read the instructions you are left wondering what the goal is.
The graphics are beautiful, I really really like the lighting and all that stuff that is going on by the same time. It's a bit hard to avoid bullets if you want to move fast, but that's probably intended :) All in all I really enjoyed this and didn't delete it right away before writing this. I'll definitely play this again to see if I can raise my score :)

Misshapen by Aaants 2013-04-30T09:55:00

I really like how you applied the theme to the graphics.

(Follow the) Line by Chman 2013-04-29T14:46:00

This game is so minimal in so many ways that I don't know what to say else than: Well done.

Fjoxel by Pixelsalt 2013-04-30T09:19:00

Actually minimalistic. Actually fun.

BEAPE by Xgor 2013-04-29T11:57:00

I enjoyed playing it but expected elements that would require the player to have a feeling for rhythm. Unfortunately everything in the game that is indicated through rhythm is identically shown through space. If the movement rhythm wasn't an equidistant ticking one would need to anticipate the rhythm to be successful I guess.

Life by caporaltito 2013-04-30T11:00:00

Would love to see a more polished version of this!

Exit by Ludipe 2013-04-29T16:24:00

The game plays nice and it seems to be polished. But the game play mechanic itself isn't that interesting to be honest (just my opinion). So it was a clever move to entertain the player with some funny voice from the off :) And to be fair: when I thought that the game was over I was pleasantly surprised by the wall/running part and the ending. So - well done I'd say :)

Cylinder by Jacqueslelezard 2013-04-29T10:44:00

This one was a lot of fun. I especially like your level design that makes it pretty interesting. I think the mouse is a bit too fast and q and e would definitley be much better than t and r. Also it gets really difficult once you need to get around those oompa loompa block thingies :) Bot overall a very nice atmospheric game. But those arms aren't human, are they? :)

Chao Ab Ordo by ZeroDivide 2013-04-29T12:22:00

Don't be too strict with yourself. Take the lessons you learned into the next compo. That's what LD is for.

I think the game isn't that bad. It is a bit unclear what leads to chaos (beside that it's inevitable) which makes it hard to derive some kind of strategy.

The Quest for Philip's Glass by porglezomp 2013-04-30T11:20:00

Single-button Survivor by meszka 2013-04-30T16:33:00

This is so cool! I know a lot of people that say one button games can't be fun. This proves them wrong :) I find it amazing how fast one can adapt to this completely uncommon input scheme. Sure, I wouldn't want it for super mario, but this game does it really good.

Circular Orbit by arctangent1759 2013-05-14T17:14:00

Platforms In Purple by Myrmica 2013-05-14T17:22:00

It crashed for me and windows told me it ran out of RAM (12gigs...) so there's definitely something going on. That was the standalone version. Win7 64bit. Maybe a memory leak? Too bad because I was really caught by the story.

BasedBall by Neten 2013-04-29T11:18:00

Really like the elements you added to this game concept by using colored blocks that affect your possibilities of manipulation. I don't think it wasn't too hard. Only that last turn ...

MeenoMinal by niun 2013-04-30T10:54:00

I like the the minimalism. Is it a bug that some things won't ever be visible? (Like teleporters and some walls). I experienced a bug on my first try in level 2 where the lift wouldn't appear.

CubeMaster by JimmyLord 2013-04-29T12:27:00

oooh i whish this had sound. It really needs some nice stomping sounds to make the impact even harder in my opinion :) Really liked how it turned out to be not only another tetris game. Also the lighting looks really nice. Well done.

Antarctic Skirmish by Meep 2013-04-29T16:44:00

I think this is a really good version of a minimal rts. It's really stripped down to only the important elements and the controls are well done. I have not been able to win in 3 games, but I'm really bad at RTS games, so that doesn't mean a whole lot. Good job :)

Boximalism by poohshoes 2013-04-30T10:13:00

Cool concept. Had to play a while to figure out what was going on and only ultimately grasped it when I read your comment on the mechanics.

Lead the Bunny by Joseph Roque 2013-04-29T14:55:00

Poor bunny! My journey took some bloody endings... ;)
It was fun to play. After a while it really hurts to start over from the very beginning, that's something to improve i think. Leading the bunny was intuitive most of the time, but sometimes I would loose control while trying to jump/dash over something that could bring my sweet bunny to a painful death. Mainly because I didn't move the mouse pointer far enough or something. But that's really minor things. All in all I think its a solid entry.

Puzzlecave Episode 1 - Raiders Of The Lost Potato by gizmo 2013-04-29T16:27:00

Art Critic by sanojian 2013-04-29T11:16:00

Those comments are just hilarious. Together with the sounds it was really fun to play. Unfortunately the gameplay itself isn't really exciting to me because one needs to wait a lot and there's not much control. Nevertheless I love the idea to have a virtual character comment on your art. If the gameplay was somehow more interesting it would be even a better entry than it already is.

SPACE CANNON 2082 by scottychips 2013-04-30T15:21:00

I actually didn't play osmos longer than 30 seconds and honestly can't remember the main mechanics of eufloria because it's been so long since I played it. But maybe it has ben an unconscious influence :)
I know that things can remain a bit unclear even after the tutorial (which kind of focuses on the obvious). I would try to improve that should I make a post compo version.

@namuol agree, I get that feeling too. I have ideas how to improve and fight that feeling. We'll see if I implement them :)

sine by timtipgames 2013-08-28T14:37:00

Hey caranah, thanks for taking the time to make a video of your play session! Very cool to see others play your own game. You can actually learn a lot of it because people usually do things totally different than you expected them to :)

I agree that there are some parts that need improvement (and also a space background would have made it into the game if I had not run out of time).

Concerning the difficulty: Although you are under time pressure when you want to reach the highest score possible, it is very easy to play through the easy level if you do hurry less and take more time to take the suns waves of death into account. I'd describe your way of playing the game as kind of "brute force" (absolutely no offense) :). You sent quite a few stars into death :) While that absolutely is a legit way of approaching the problem I don't think it's the most efficient.

I had planned to make you lose points when stars die but I was really really in a hurry in the end and I felt like sound was more important at that point. As I stated earlier in the comments I share the feeling that the game isn't "tight" enough when it comes to feedback loops and the feeling of success. I also mixed control schemes that were solely made for touch devices (the whole dragging thing) into the desktop version and even mention it in the tutorial (because I didn't want people to be confused when they accidentally use it) which just makes everything worse in my opinion. But that's just the way it is.

Again, thank you very much for playing and even making a video of it. I deeply appreciate it!

It's amazing how polished this is and how many features you got in there in just 48hours. Great job!

Escape From The Temple of Eternal Dooom by Joror 2013-08-31T09:45:00

Not being able to scroll the queue is really really unfortunate when you already queued up 20 actions and only the last one makes you fail :( I really enjoyed playing it though :)

Hunted by Loyalty 2013-08-27T09:37:00

Nice, just a bit too long. Nothing against exploration, but there's just not enough variaty in things to see to make the exploration part interesting very long :) Nice mood!

Speedungeon by Xaychru 2013-08-27T06:22:00

I absolutely love the pace of this game. But I agree that given the difficulty every room could have been it's own checkpoint.

Battle Balls by randomelginguy 2013-08-26T15:06:00

Fun! I wish there was a two player version on one pc :)

Ludum Defense by Kwrky 2013-08-26T14:27:00

It takes way to long until the round is over! I gave up when I saw "units left 1000". Other than that it's a nice little tower defense game with some minor bugs :)

Tetchy Mrs. Sheriff Saves The Day by Pol 2013-08-31T09:57:00

5 stars for fun :)

Kougeki by ResonantCraft 2013-08-27T10:35:00

The graphics are absolutely awesome. I think it doesn't have to be fullscreen though (at least the webversion is stretched to fill the window) because it just blurs the images without addint too much immersion (but thats obviously a matter of taste). The gameplay was ... aehm... towerdefense :)

10 by Benn 2013-08-31T13:11:00

Love the idea, love the execution, just too hard for me :/

10 by Benn 2013-08-31T13:23:00

I got a new keyboard and actually beat it without many fail tries. So I have to say it's not too difficult.

Haraka by gikdew 2013-08-27T06:10:00

It had to happen. A platformer with 10 second checkpoint mechanic. Surprisingly it's the first I come along (had expected that every second game would be this kind) and happily it's a very well executed!

Ten Down by Sebastian 2013-08-31T14:47:00

The game plays very smoothly and is very well done, but I felt like the gameplay became very repetitive very quickly.

The Aliens Came (10 seconds to choose) by porglezomp 2013-08-26T15:16:00

This is absolutely amazing. The most fun I had out of the 15 games I have played so far. The time presure and nice pictures really pulled me into the story.

Droplet by TaleLore 2013-08-26T13:51:00

I found the collision detection with the projectiles a bit inaccurate leading to some painful deaths. Other than that I really enjoyed this game :)

Z-Z-ZEN by Badger 2013-08-27T09:07:00

Seems to be 2 player mode no matter what you choose. As the second player can't be controlled (at least I didn't find out how) he always falls asleep.
I guess the message is: You can't control others and one alone can never reach satori? :)

Love Your Pets by DaanVanYperen 2013-08-26T15:55:00

Your graphics are awesome as usual, but this game confuses me. How's determined who dies? Why does the escape pod do nothing if I send a crew member to it (it looks as if the crew member is stuck next to it most of the time). How am I supposed to finish the first room?

Love Your Pets by DaanVanYperen 2013-08-27T08:17:00

No I got it and now I rated. Thanks for explaining :)
I think the feedback loop needs some love :)

Orb by Monoquartz 2013-08-26T15:20:00

The concept is nice but the time pressure makes me not want to proceed after a while because I always have to repeat all levels to get to the one I failed in (which I just don't want more than a few times). I had no technical issues playing the game :)

Cloud Atlas in 60 Seconds by The4thCircle 2013-08-26T19:48:00

I don't remember the characters very well, but game wise the text is gone before I have even read it. I had to go through the sequence several times to read them. Sure you can learn the correct sequence, and I get that could also be seen as part of the parody. But it kind of took the fun out of it for me. Nexus 4.

Just 10 Seconds by ellipticaldoor 2013-08-26T13:42:00

I was about to write what I had difficulties with but I wont, because the most interesting part of the game for me was to find out how it works. nice game :)

Step Out by bitserum 2013-08-31T12:23:00

Loved everything about it. I mixed up the keys sometimes, maybe they could be changed to be more distant from each other to better reflect their different semantics.

10 Sec Away From the Earth by dancingflame 2013-08-27T09:25:00

I really like the concept and how clever usage of characters strengths is needed to proceed. The 10 second switching seems kind of not needed because you can switch between characters whenever you want. It doesn't anything to the game other than me pressing shift a few more times. The characters graphically do not fit with the tileset in my opinion. Overall a really nice experience :)

LevelUp! by m110 2013-08-26T15:11:00

Nice! But pretty hard to survive a bit longer. Also, given that all enemy trajectories are linear towards you, I wonder what bullet speed is good for?

Hurry UP! by Sense 2013-08-27T07:13:00

I had to reload my browser tab to restart the game due to non respawened game items.
I love how you have to do the correct jumps to balance red vs. white powerups. Gets a bit repetitive after a while though :( Really like the graphics!

Captain Robert by koe415 2013-08-27T07:05:00

Why oh why did you leave me with that ending :(
I enjoyed the game a lot though. I also liked how you structured the ship so you wouldn't get lost too much while searching. Would love to see a picture of the overall ship layout :)

Pressurized by Pickens Inc. 2013-08-31T14:29:00

The explosions made it worth playing again :)

Keyboard Slap by Velro 2013-08-26T03:42:00

This is really difficult! I was lost once there were three lines. Two things I would have loved to see: Better feedback on what "the game" thinks I am doing right and an easier mode :) Not bad for a "first "finished" game" game :)

Switch by Friday 2013-08-26T14:56:00

Awesome.
If I had to complain about something, I'd say that it was a bit annoying to wait for the switch so often. The parts where you have to walk 2 steps and then have to wait 8 seconds are kind of pointless :) Very well done!

Bomb defuse - 10 seconds by choqaae 2013-08-27T08:03:00

It took a while to understand that you have to buy at least one speed upgrade to be able to move at all. In my first try I just spent all my money, failed, and was left with a non moving robot for followup missions :) In another mission I actually failed although I had defused the bomb in time.
Like the upgrade system!

10 sec puzzle by vlaaad 2013-08-26T21:18:00

Awesome game and clever use of the theme on a well known problem. There's a bug though. Get 200bp,use the right bpability and then the left one - logical freeze. other than that it played great on my android phone. Well done!

Final Glow by Yword 2013-08-27T14:41:00

Amazing work. Music fits absolutely perfect and really got me! Graphics are as awesome as the mechanic itself. Being able to use keys to go from one timestep to the next would be nice. Should also play nice on touchscreens. Well done!

I dig the concept. Maybe I am just not skilled enough, but it seems that it's really really difficult to survive very long. I bookmarked this to play it again later and to see if I just chose bad strategies :) Well done!

BLAM BLAM PLANET by ratking 2013-08-31T12:52:00

I really like the art style. Just too fast and too much for me to anticipate within the first tries.

Atomic Time Raiders by Colapsydo 2013-08-31T10:23:00

Well done, wish there was more variety to the gameplay elements. You really got me with the intro and I wish you would have had the possibility to build upon the story introduced in the beginning.

Timed Strategy by Zelosfan 2013-08-26T15:03:00

The game crashed after the first shots where fired during my first try. Didn't happen when I started it again. I find it really hard to identify different units and buildings due to the lack of contrast sometimes. Liked the "time buying" feature :)

Mercurial by sorceress 2013-08-31T11:58:00

I like the execution of the concept. Have seen other games trying to do similar things and this is by far the best game I played out of those.

Card Smack by qualia 2013-08-27T07:32:00

"retry a few times if it crashes on "play"" Just out of curiosity: what causes that bug? ;)

As a side note:
Using ";" as a game relevant key is a bad idea because not only is the ";" keys location a different one for differenttly localized keyboards but the keycode for the input event will actually correspond to a completely different key in some cases. On a german keyboard what you refer to as ";" is actually "Ăś" :)

I really really like the idea and style of the game. But it is so increadibly challenging to keep track of everything going on that at least for me it probably would have been too fast to take a lot of tactically meaningful decisions even if the abilities did anything.
Let's not talk about the AI ;)

I really would have enjoyed this a lot if it would work a bit better :)

Samurai Cafe by caranha 2013-08-26T20:49:00

Dragging pizzas that where done sometimes didn't work for me. I am talking about the ones that are already out of the oven. But the game is pretty fun as long as the dragging works ;-) played and rated from my android phone (nexus 4)

A DEUS by tamat 2013-08-26T16:34:00

I don't know how to play this. Even with the info text. I can neither lay mines, nor can I shoot as the second player.

Jack and the Alarm Clock by Frozen Fractal 2013-08-27T06:31:00

I like the concept very much. But I found the way up a bit too long to do it every time you fail. Would have been awesome if the giant had actually chased you ;) Nice game!

Space Demolition by Suese by Suese 2013-08-27T07:50:00

Star Rover by FacticiusVir 2013-08-27T10:13:00

I really like this game. I'd like to play this game with more robots, more consoles and a more complicated ship system - say, consoles that have to be used in a certain order or during a certain time step. I had a lot of fun playing this!

A shark ate your other oar: A game made in one hour. by Sestren 2013-12-21T15:13:00

Not bad for one hour of work! Would have liked some more realistic paddeling though. If the boat had some more realistic velocity, it would also become more difficult, which in turn would have made it more interesting for me.

Our Man, Dragon by scoopsy 2013-12-16T18:09:00

Gun Grabbers! by TobiasNL 2013-12-16T20:42:00

Absolutely amazing. When you participate in LDs a few times you come along a lot(!) of "enemy wave incoming, shoot with your machine gun" games and I am honestly pretty bored by them because even if they are well executed and are fun for 10 seconds, it just doesn't suit me and I think they are boring to a lot of people even if they like the genre.

To make a long story short: The scoring part and the fact that the enemies steel your gun (how fckn cool is that?) make this a brilliant game. Not to mention that it looks gorgeous.
Well - that's just my opinion. I think I made my point clear. Good job ;)

Infinite Fame by bitslap 2013-12-21T16:17:00

Very hard. But very enjoyable.

My Dad's the Grinch by xel 2013-12-16T03:54:00

Gods of Baloo by timtipgames 2013-12-16T04:56:00

@DaanVanYperen, thanks for playing. I'll check out yours later because I didn't get when I tried it a while ago. Need some sleep too :)

@disdanes That's a bug that I fixed because it is actually of the category "game breaking" because you can't reach the rest of the game :) Thanks for playing!

@Chris Mondok: I've seen that on unix systems with multiple monitors before. Thank you very much for the detailed error description though - that's much more than many people do. Glad you enjoy it.

@kbake I just tried that, the last level is actually the only one where the game crashes when you try to reset. I had to rush that part so sorry for the trouble. I may be fixing that tomorrow, because in my opinion the game is really about finishing it.

Going to play all of your games tomorrow. Sooo tired now :)

Gods of Baloo by timtipgames 2013-12-16T15:31:00

@TeddyNashor If you are set back to level one, you aren't supposed to sacrifice your friend. Try to sacrifice something else.
@Danman9914 Yeah it's close to frustrating. But I wanted the wrong sacrifice to matter, as it also has an effect on the ending.
@zconnelly13 anything wrong with fullscreen? Didn't know the cool kids don't play fullscreen anymore ;)

Gods of Baloo by timtipgames 2013-12-21T20:04:00

@mortus There is a lot of room for interpretation and the whole story grew during development rather than having a message I wanted to communicate. So I find it absolutely reasonable that you couldn't find a meaning in it. The turning point in the story is that when you reach the gods they tell you that "you have been here all along" so you have already been dead and the whole "life" (read: game before gods) was you transferring into eternity. There's more interpretation on top of that, that I have, but I thought the rest could be up to the player instead of making it explicit. Sorry that it missed you :)

I recorded that music during the compo without another song in mind that I wanted to reference. But it's possible that there is similar music, especially given that it's not that complex and uses rather simple patterns. If you find the song that I unconsciously referenced let me know :)

Player Bullets would have been nice. Or some impact graphics. Or somethings that indicates that I have hit the enemy (besides the health bar). Triggering the shop during fights was pretty annoying :) Not the best game in the world, but it entertained me for a while :)

Great mood, awesome setting, very cool graphics, barely playable game mechanic ;)

Eldritch Racing by ian_snyder 2013-12-16T21:28:00

oh now things clear up for me. I didn't read your desciption before and three things happened:
1) I didn't realize the "revolver vs light" screen is a selection for one of them but thought i do get both. I always clicked on the revolver though
2) I didn't realize I have to flee from the thing, but thought I have to shoot it with the revolver.
3) I found that impossible to do and blamed the controls.

If I choose the lantern and flee now, I don't think the controls are too bad anymore. But imagine you are trying to shoot the terror without fleeing whilst sitting in your car ;) Adjusted my rating :)

the Pit by MRvanderPants 2013-12-16T18:15:00

I experienced so many bugs :( Got stuck, camera froze, shooting during loading screen, upgrade screen not opening. Other than that ... could have been a much better experience in what looks like a solid game.

The Wizardry of Differentiation by mortus 2013-12-21T15:41:00

I had no music/sound playing in the web version (other games in browser do work). I only found out because I read comments about the music ;)

I like the game and its execution. I got stuck when I disabled a key while in the other universe the guy was standing on the corresponding platform. I could also imagine that it will be hard to expand this. Do you have any ideas for it? What mechanics could you see fit in here?
Overall well done!

Super Christmas Teeth Basher 5000 by DaanVanYperen 2013-12-16T13:37:00

I thought it was a lack of sleep that made the game hard to play for me last night. Now with a few hours of sleep more I still have trouble to "read" the game. I feel like the feedback loop on this is somehow broken, as I barely see if I did things right or wrong. As usual I love your art! Also thank for taking part in the bestiam dare. Unfortunately you have been the only one so far, guess people don't like the idea or are just too busy. :)

"Some shield: +0 defense points" - I was intrigued ;)

Once I killed enough enemies to proceed I felt that moving was way too slow as I was just wandering around searching the portal. Battles feel too random in my opinion. I would like to do something to win instead of just hoping ;) I liked the graphicstyle though :)

What an end-boss :) I also would have liked to get some more feedback on whether I have been hit or hit the enemy. Also after choosing a cheap evolution form there' little incentive to keep killing things -especially as you can just bypass them. Nevertheless, the final enemy was worth it :)

Color Blind by Mandala 2013-12-18T10:50:00

"You will have to drag and drop the ColorBlindRun.zip onto the run executable file." that's the important information to get the thing run :)
Unfortunately that doesn't help too much as the collision detection seems to be broken. As soon as I jump once any subsequent collision won't be detected. So you will just fall through everything as soon as you jumped once. I don't think that's intended, right?

Very nice how you created that intense atmosphere without a lot of graphics. Well done!

YOGO Mom! by Coblynau 2013-12-16T15:13:00

It was fun to explore what the different items do. I somehow expected the coffee to give movementspeed instead of a time bonus ;) Graphics are nice and consistent.

Nice idea. Don't want to stop yet, need more levels :) Would be nice to see the range that you will be attracted in.

I had hoped to never have to play a timed platformer again after the 10 second theme last time. But this one is really good in every regard. Good job!

Thrust Issues by Gravedrinker 2013-12-17T20:29:00

Very well done. I enjoyed watching this on stream and playing this myself a lot! The Post Compo controlls are a million times better than the compo version though :)
Good Job!

You Only Get 1! by Danman9914 2013-12-16T16:28:00

I liked the game a lot.
I think usually people either remove the music from their games or switch to the Jam instead of compo. It's hard to judge a game with music as if it was without music and in your case the audio adds a lot to it.

Lumen by Nelien 2013-12-21T17:49:00

I had to take a deep breath after finishing it. Well done!

UniFlagellete by vanaficionado 2013-12-16T19:12:00

Playing on windows 7 64 bit. When I double click the jar file to start I will also end up with a white screen after the white menu. But when I open a command prompt and start the game with java -jar RUN.jar, everthing works fine...

Interesting art style ;) Was entertaining for a short while.

Get One with Math by Lukasinho 2013-12-16T15:07:00

Nice idea, just a little bit too difficult. Rage quit in level 3 ;)

One chance to save your ass by occash 2013-12-16T18:03:00

I like the idea, but either I am too stupid or the game is too difficult. I consider both possibilities ;)

Park King by Chris Mondok 2013-12-16T14:05:00

This is an amazing game! After rushing the tutorial I had to come back to read more carefully - worth it! It's really addictive and has nice uncomplicated layers of planning. The 1 hour launch is a great idea - as the overall concept is. I could imagine this to be a great touchscreen game :) Well done!

Park King by Chris Mondok 2013-12-16T17:00:00

That's the one thing that confused me most - the white car is not a regular car to be parked, it's my car.

There's only one Earth by TheStolenBattenberg 2013-12-16T19:21:00

Starts of nice, I like the dark setting. First time I left the game by pressing Q when I was searching how to proceed after the bomb had hit. Second time I waited long enough to realize that it will continue after a certain amount of time(?) and realized after my first wrong decision that in order to play again, I have to start the whole process over again? With non skippable intros?
I understand that that could also be a way to give weight to your decisions and the resulting death, but as there is no skill but only luck involved I don't feel like waiting a minute to finally give it a new try. Too bad, because I did like the premise.

One Arrow by 7elephants 2013-12-17T19:31:00

Amazing. The audio is lacking a bit (music), which really is the last peace to make this even more shining.

Simple Ships by PineappleLime 2013-12-16T19:46:00

It can't read the about.txt when I chose the "about" options which makes it impossible to get more information. I have been unable to figure out the controls.

Choose Wisely by zconnelly13 2013-12-16T04:01:00

I was suprised by the amount of choices and stuff to see. Well done!

Light Away by ajfischer 2013-12-16T03:40:00

I had some trouble to understand the idea but once I figured it out it was a nice challenge. I didn't make it to the blacklight though. There's some seems between the tiles visible and I had also problems sliding along tiles. I also felt like sometimes the game wouldn't react to my input but it is also possible that I just missed some rule that made it reasonable. Did you do the music yourself? Or is that actually something that procedural music generators produce these days? Would suprise me :)

Can you hear me? by Jago 2013-12-16T19:52:00

Nice idea. I think I hita dead end(?) several times.

The windows executable works. Conveying your emotions too. Not much of a game, but it got me.

One Button Racer by badlydrawnrod 2013-12-16T20:46:00

Like the idea. Feels like it would actually be a two button game if it wasn't for the theme ;)

Ballkeeper by cappelnord 2013-12-21T18:40:00

Great concept, just steal some breaktout powerup ideas and this will be even better! Would also be great on mobile devices I think!

Shabby Buffet by Devtactics 2013-12-16T05:29:00

Too bad it didn't work in the end! It seems like you got a lot of things already done. It looks nice and I really wish there was an actual game to play here. Made me laugh though :)

Excellent.

Armadrillo by dalbinblue 2014-04-28T12:07:00

This is fun! I couldn't get the million though. Tried a few times and on my fifth or sixth run I spawned like this and the game was stuck: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/3057562/LD29/drill.PNG I think my best score was 500k :)

Sunapsis by HunLyxxod 2014-04-28T18:27:00

I like the game a lot. It took me a long time to understand what I can actually do. The very essential information that I only found accidantely is that I have to press space to start the sequence. Once I found that out I was actually able to play.
The learning curve is extremely steep though. I like hard puzzles so that was ok for me. I like the presentation a lot. Whish it had some atmospheric sounds or music. Good job!

Raged Milling by ShadowBrain 2014-05-01T12:15:00

Controls feel very good, the gameplay could see a bit more variety and somehow increasing difficulty. Good job for your second LD game!

DIG! DIG! DIG! by Harsay 2014-05-02T08:17:00

What a button mashing ;) The dig sound was a bit annoying but I couldn't stop trying to get deeper for a while ;)

PR0BE by Softwave 2014-04-29T16:14:00

I liked the feeling of the controls during the landing part! I didn't know what to do in the submarine :)

An Ode to Violence by Benn 2014-04-28T11:33:00

This is a good example of how simple components staged well together can create a nice gaming experience. I like the juicyness and the slomo together with the sound on hit is just great :)

Wriggle Worm by gikdew 2014-04-28T11:50:00

I agree with the hit-sound being painful. Other than that I think this is a very good "avoid-things" game. It's still an avoid things game :)

Cuteopia by Mekuri 2014-05-01T13:14:00

Enjoyed playing it. It get's a bit repetitive after a while though :) Good job on character controller, didn't experience any problems.

Sim Aunt by RobotLovesKitty 2014-05-02T08:21:00

My weirdest LD experience up until now. Could have some more guidance maybe.

The Underkeep by DaanVanYperen 2014-04-28T11:44:00

Once I understood the concpet this turned out to be a very entertaining game. I actually like the scaling and challenge given in the later game. I selected the spelunker often when I would rather have liked to send a knight down to the creeps though. Love your graphics-style as usual. The audio fits very well. I will check out the source to see where I can improve my entity-system thinking. Good job!

Ore Genesis by Genecyll 2014-05-02T13:15:00

I like the simplicity of this game. The Sounds are excellent. I only found it to be too easy. Maybe you could add a penalty for clicking non removable tiles?

Epilepsy by tchem 2014-04-28T11:56:00

I love the mood this creates. The distortion flashes are a happening a bit too often maybe. While the gameplay isn't that exciting, the overall style is very nice. Especially given that you only had a few hours for it.

From the Under by damrem 2014-05-01T14:19:00

Escave! by Simon@LD 2014-05-01T12:06:00

The cave setting created a nice mood and I enjoyed the game mechanics very much. Reminds me of sanctum which is a game I also dig. The overall graphicstyle is nice and the music suits well. Good job!

Atomicle - LostAutumn.net by AutumnGuy 2014-05-02T12:39:00

I find it hard to judge this fairly because it upsets me that you don't credit amidos2006's Atomic+ as the obvious inspiration.

Enceladus by andreaswitzen 2014-04-29T16:21:00

The base seems solid. I wish you had implemented the aspect of scientific discovery, which sounds interesting.
Is there a win condition? I either run out of fuel or die to those alien things. Congratulations on finishing your first jam game :)

Global Freezing by oostap 2014-05-02T12:44:00

Amazingly polished and good looking. Plays very well and I enjoyed it a lot!

SUPER LANDSHARK MISSILE ATTACK! by Tuism 2014-05-01T11:26:00

I love the chaos. I wish there was a clearer winning/loosing condition that is communicated to the player. Had a lot of fun :)

Behind The Smile Face by Aomeas 2014-05-01T11:42:00

I found the dialoge options very amusing and also liked the two layers that you have in the game. One being the well implemented "bump the words" and the other handling the dialog. Well done!

SEA MONSTER: ATTACKS HUNTER by Frump 2014-05-01T13:25:00

Great visuals! The audio also fits very well. I could see some more advanced boss mechanics improve the game a lot. Overall very well done!

Dive Deep by skppo 2014-05-01T10:30:00

The amount of different enemy-mechanis, especially the bossfiggts, is impressive. I had a lot of fun playing this. Good Job!

Gold Miner by Young IT 2014-05-02T07:57:00

I like the atmosphere! The gold mining mechanic is a bit simple but it plays very well.

The Gathering by oatsbarley 2014-05-02T07:28:00

I like the low-poly graphic style and enjoyed the simple but addictive gameplay a lot! Well done!

Stick Escape by Jase 2014-04-28T18:04:00

Nice. Gets a bit repetitive though :)

In Hiding by Sheepolution 2014-05-02T07:22:00

LD30 — Connected Worlds

World Bash by DaGamesta 2014-08-28T06:46:00

I was a little dissapointed when I started to play with the biggest planet as I expected more dynamics in the planets connection. That changed once I tried the smaller planets and trying them made me play for quiet a while. Would have liked some more asteroid types and/or power ups. Overall a nice game. Well done!

A Broken Mess by TheRealGreyboy 2014-09-09T09:19:00

Awesome game! I enjoyed the puzzle elements a lot. Good job!

Trade routes by Shivur 2014-09-09T09:10:00

I think I have an idea where you tried to go with this game, but I find it very confusing. I think for improvement of the game it would be essential to improve the feedback-loop between player and game. I found it hard to understand which ships I controlled, where they were heading and why they disappeared despite the fact that they had weapons when they approached pirate nests.
Good job for your second participation!

Dead Weight by ponywolf 2014-08-28T06:37:00

I am not a big fan of tilt controls in mobile games, but these were well executed! Love the idea and am happy to see another mobile only game in the jam.

Naboka Between Worlds! by Bognet Team 2014-09-09T09:02:00

I liked the graphic style, especially the background image.
I wish the collision detection was a little more forgiving. Under most circumstances I was under the impression that the level of difficulty was dictated by the control quirks and not the level design. Well done!

Dario Runner by Herman Groenenboom 2014-09-09T08:54:00

Fun game. I like the level of difficulty and the music is great.

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Blobbit - A Disaffected Squirmy by Wampus 2014-12-09T05:16:00

I have to say that I really like the "no tutorial, just learning by doing" concept.
I have been playing for a while now and in the beginning I thought I could learn the game by playing it - I was pretty lost soon after.
Maybe that's just the price I have to pay for 72 hours jamming :)

I actually have to play again now after reading your explanation in the comments before I rate :)

Hit and Slide by timtipgames 2014-12-12T19:43:00

Thank you all for playing! We had a lot of fun in every single game we played with you.

On a different note: looks like I am smart enough to be considered a bot. That's something, isn't it?

Hit and Slide by timtipgames 2014-12-13T13:06:00

Thanks for playing so long with me and thank you for the detailed feedback Madball!

I am aware of the sync-problems you are describing. They really are a result of too much dirty coding under time-pressure. All points you state would need fixing if we continued working on this.

I am on the server whenever I think that there may people come to play, like when I make a blog-post or when I hit the title page of the rating category. So not really 24/7 :) AI was and is on our wish list. Thanks again, I had a lot of fun playing with you!

Hyper Soccer by klianc09 2014-12-11T16:21:00

Excellent concept. It was very hard to see which "player" I was controlling which made it very difficult to play the way I wanted to.

Also the progress bars indicating the skill cool-down were hard to see which made it even more difficult to play.

I can see this being much more fun if there was more control over the situation. good job!

Polo by ChrisGaudino 2014-12-12T19:11:00

Very well done!

Ab Intra by Yarek 2014-12-09T03:23:00

Entomophobia by DoubleS 2014-12-09T04:44:00

t-t-t-t-t-t-o-o-o-o-o-o much camera shake :) Other than that: very very nice. Loved the retro style, the overall presentation and execution - even though the gameplay gets old quickly.

Maybe there's something I am missing, but I can't even survive a single maze because my shooting-frequency is so low.

DemonHunter by Gluklichman 2014-12-09T04:00:00

I played your game with my significant other so we had the full multiplayer experience :) We had quiet some fun but it seemed kind of unbalanced that the demon hunter was so easy to kill. Also floors friction could have been higher for our taste. Nevertheless, a nice game for a first ludum dare. Good job!

virOS by Antworks Studio 2014-12-09T04:19:00

I like the style a lot, but I don't get what I have to do to actually delete the virus!
I type the letters, click it, and - what now? Can't move it to the trash. If I hit "DEL" on my keyboard I actually get back to the "menu"... more instructions or information about keybindings may be helpful :)

Space Opera by SirRicecake 2014-12-09T04:47:00

I like the idea a lot and the graphics in combination with the sound are working very well together. The gameplay was a little frustrating as it was hard to avoid/sing away the rockets.

Dog Pile by StackAttack 2014-12-09T05:27:00

CMDR LR by timtipgames 2015-12-16T15:06:00

Thank you all for your comments and kind words. I am really happy that you are enjoying the game as much as I do :)

Regarding the controls:
They are the way they are for a reason. I was trying to create more of a "simulation" feeling than an arcade game. While those are a lot of fun (and yours is great btw @Tuism) I wanted to create a sense of controlling the individual thrusters and not of controlling the ship directly - if that explanation makes sense to you :) I do understand that some people would decide differently, but it was a conscious decision.

I also played around with "one hand controlls" like A+D or arrow-keys, but I found that it creates a completely different feeling that I did not want. The same happened when I inverted the controls - although the impact wasn't as drastically.

If I create a follow up, I may consider to at least allow to invert the keys, but I am not sure yet. I am pretty sure that I won't change to one-hand control, even though I am always open for arguments as to why I should do it despite my reasons that I just listed.

Concerning the damage, @Akhera is right it feels pretty inconsistent even though technically it isn't. In a follow up I'd change it to be more based on impact speed and may also take @Tuism's idea into consideration to add a little "bump" effect when scratching along walls.

Thank you all so much for your thorough reviews and comments, I am reading all of them and find every single one very important. If you are interested in a possible post compo version, make sure to follow me on twitter: @TimTipGames :)

@Candyjapan @VascoF @A333 you guys are freaking robots - I have a hard time beating your scores and I have basically been playing this game for half the weekend :D
@Erlend Aakre yes :)

Galactic Growth Commander by DesignerNap 2015-12-14T18:24:00

My biggest problem was that the pitch axis was horribly slow (may be intended?)
I also had a hard time to hit anything at all, but I enjoyed missing things a lot :)

Inhabitants by adamyounis 2015-12-14T08:29:00

At first I was like: "ahh no this is one of these games that I am not good at" and started clicking randomly. But then I felt like I found solutions to certain constellations that let me even win some levels.
Excellent job on the graphics and the tutorial is also very well presented.
Really good job!

Swarm by NaoisTheGuardian 2015-12-14T06:50:00

I had no problems running the game. Just had to make sure that the res order was extracted alongside the jar file. You can't run it from "within" the zip file.

I like the graphics a lot and you did a good job on the swarm movement. I think it looks very organic.

I needed a moment to realize what exactly I had to do and by the time I did, I only had so few fish left that I had trouble to get any lower.
On my second try, once I figured it out, it was very easy to reach the floor though.
Here are my stats:

Good job, especially on the gfx!

Fly Monster by Submundo Games 2015-12-14T18:42:00

I wish the energy orbs played a bigger role in the gameplay.

Forks and Porks by tanis 2015-12-14T16:32:00

In my opinion the most prominent problem with your game is, that it doesn't feel responsive. The consequences of ones actions aren't well communicated to the player. It goes as far as having the feeling that your actions don't have any impact at all (as someone earlier stated in the comments) or are very unreliable.
I suggest to improve the "communication layer" of this or future games.
But maybe it's just a bug with the click detection and everything is just fine ;) Whenever I clicked the guys and they died in a poof of magic it felt responsive, but I couldn't help the feeling that it just happened unreliably.

I liked the graphics and sounds though! It worked just fine on my windows 8.1 machine.

Love that slightly over the top humor. Well done!

Mt Etubo by thebrickanator 2015-12-14T08:37:00

I love everything about this game. The graphics are superb, the audio very good and the gameplay super "juicy". Even the story isn't bad. Awesome entry!

Germicide by scottthoo 2015-12-14T17:14:00

Graphics are great, controls good and gameplay nice! The only thing that bothered me was, that when I used RMB to move, the unity player kept opening its context menu.
Maybe provide a standalone download?
Good job!

Now, can you give me my time back please? :D
This was amazingly addictive and relaxing. Had to kill the dragon, killed the dragon, would do again.
Great game if you aren't put off by the tempo.

thank you for that trophy! Not only did I kill the dragon, I also have something to put on my shelf to show for it! :)
Also thank you for playing and rating my game.

I enjoyed playing this game a lot. It also looks and feels great. Will try this later with a friend to see how local coops works.
There is one thing that I really didn't like:
In my personal opinion the Powerups shouldn't have a chance to slow you down - at least not as long as they are chosen randomly and not avoidable. I think it takes away from the flow of the game.
I think it also highlights a problem that arises from the two buttons theme in this particular game: It makes a game that could be much more a game of skill (if for example you could accelerate and break yourself) a game that is largely based on chance. I am afraid the theme isn't very beneficial for this game.

I nevertheless liked it but think it could have been a lot better with only minor adjustments. Just my opinion though :)

Nine Panels by Chaserbrown 2015-12-14T17:45:00

Amazing work for a 13 year old.
Plays great (just the scrolling through the combos was a little annoying) and I think it is really innovative.
Good job!

Jay in Love Garden by Namek 2015-12-14T17:05:00

I had a hard time to figure out a strategy. Once I was able to beat the first level I failed the second one by a few dollars for a few times before I ran out of patience.
I was hooked enough to keep trying again and again though :)

Omega Llama! by yumaikas 2015-12-14T08:19:00

I like the idea!
I wish there was some kind of progress involved though. The enemy waves could become increasingly difficult for example. Jumping between the planets was fun, I wish it had more of an impact on the gameplay :)
Good job!

Hatchling by Farelle 2015-12-15T10:42:00

Very cool drawings. The broken egg graphics is heartbreaking :(

Tubutten Beetle by YinYin 2015-12-14T16:52:00

This surely won't win an award for innovation, but it was very well executed and played very "juicy" :) Well done!

Shape Caster by sraboy 2015-12-14T17:28:00

It's not very exciting and waaaay to easy tbh. But it works ;)
Thinks that may make it more interesting:
A larger range of spawning positions for the chickens
A cooldown on that fire button
Harder to catch meat (do they aim for you somehow?)
Maybe achieve some of these by increasing the size of the field?

Just random thoughts :) Gratulations for submitting your first LD! It's a real accomplishment!

LD35 — Shapeshift

Ejderhalar by arhpositive 2016-04-20T18:10:00

I read the rules and got really interested in trying the game. So I got all the stuff together to actually play it (found all I needed in some other board games that I have). I had to play against myself though which is probably a bad thing. I imagine figuring out the rules with someone else is much less error prone as you can correct each other all the time.

I failed horribly because I wasn't able to internalize the rules (partly because my cats where jumping my bag while I was sitting on the floor, partly because I had a sip of scotch during the gameplay and partly because there was more to remember than I thought when I read the rules for the first time. But I mainly blame my cats!).

I turned my cam on and filmed everything that I did, completely uncensored (it's just the board guys, no jumping cats seen in the vid) and uploaded it to youtube so you can watch it Arhan. In my experience watching someone failing to play your game teaches you much more than someone being super good at it.

I would like to mention that I intentionally did NOT watch your youtube video before I started recording (I still haven't, will do in a sec and will probably be enlightened and realize all the things I got wrong :D)
I hope you find this helpful and it will make up for not being able to see other LD participants play your game (I can at least see someone play mine on twitch.tv).

Going to watch your vid now and hopefully will play the game again with a friend later today. Also still have to rate it when I did that.
Here is the video: https://youtu.be/LKIGDYPYx6s :)

LD38 — A Small World

The Mother of All Games by sorceress 2017-05-01T13:03:05Z

It was a lot of fun to discover all the different games you implemented!

I read your post mortem and I don't agree that the levels are too easy now. That game with the shooting guys (it was the first one I played, don't know if they are randomized) seemed impossible to beat after the first level. Maybe I missed something important but I couldn't figure out a way to shoot at them without being hit.

The mini-golf game was by far my favorite!

I also liked the mood you set on the planet surface a lot. Music choice

Overall, well done :)

Shrunk by TimTipGames 2017-05-03T17:10:03Z

@baby-dino-herd the portal is straight to the north (or "up"). In very rare cases the portal could be covered by a dudaduda-can or grass, in that case it would have been possible that you couldn't even have seen it.

Thanks for your comments guys, glad that you enjoyed it. I am also completely agreeing with any criticism that you guys have posted.

Mall World by dydx 2017-04-25T08:55:40Z

I can't find a weapon to attack the bugs. I also can't eat the yellow pretzel I found. Help?

Mall World by dydx 2017-05-01T13:47:32Z

@dydx alright, that helped. I think I talked to him only once before and thought he'd repeat only one sentence.

This time I made it to the end. I liked the change of atmosphere from inside the mall to the outside. Another thing I enjoyed (and hated) were the red bugs. Their behavior was not so straight forward that you could just stand still and beat them, which added a nice challenge.

The fighting controls where a little rough sometimes, which became most obvious for me when I was fighting the red bugs.

Nice game, I enjoyed playing it!

YOSILand (Your Small Inner Land) by tn7111 2017-05-01T06:55:25Z

I like the idea and for the most part the execution.

I wish that there were more interactions with the guys at some point. Reading through all of their persona descriptions didn't seem to help with the game after all, which is a pitty since you invested work to invent them in the first place and they seem to offer a lot of potential.

I feel like it is a game about me, and not about the guys at all.

I wish you could have used them to make the game more than a magazin-style "answer these 20 questions and you will find out what type of person you are" questionaire, which in the end it feels like.

The graphics do work and despite some grammar mistakes (I am obviously not a native speaker either, but they stood out) my only problem visually was that the font was hard to read sometimes and was displayed pixelated which made it even harder to read.

The choice of music was good, and I enjoyed what I think could have been much more :)

Defend the Earth by Scrumplesplunge 2017-05-03T17:37:52Z

I think the fact that bullets collide with each other makes it unnecessary hard to even hit enemies. I don't mind the probably intentionally "floaty" physics, but the bullets were pretty frustrating. Maybe if bullets weren't so fast, so that you could actually circle around an enemy to hit it, evading it's bullets, it would play smoother? Other than that I have to say I enjoyed it :)

Den by La mecanique du plastique 2017-05-01T14:03:20Z

Floraison by Iwa 2017-05-01T14:09:48Z

I do agree with others that graphics, mood and sound are very well done. It's pretty relaxing to play. I wish there was either something more to explore, or at least a little bit of challenge.

LD39 — Running out of Power

Robot Guy by Neato 2017-07-31T12:03:41Z

At first it was unclear to me what I was supposed to do. After a while I thought I had figured it out and my robots were marching, but suddenly I was unable to move. Restarted the game. This time I lost but the game didn't restart. Does the game tell you if you won?

Low Voltage by ReubenW 2017-07-31T11:42:43Z

This is pretty cool! I like the idea and how you used the theme as a design focus for the environment. Spark is the greatest silly looking thing ever. I'd adopt him.

I think the game is unnecessary hard because of how the camera works. It is very(!) difficult to judge where you are going/jumping the way it works now. The rotation of the main character is also hard to see. In my personal opinion I think it adds nothing to the game, it just seems to be an unnecessary burden. I could imagine that if the camera rotated with the character, so that you always watch it from behind, I'd had even more fun.

Quoala by Goloso Games 2017-07-31T11:32:26Z

Awesome, I played until I experienced 3 different endings. I wish the text would go either a little bit faster or allow me to hit a button to go to the options directly without having to wait. I'd probably opt for the text to go a little faster as the timing greatly contributes to the great mood of the game.

Jeff Long Run by Matoux42 2017-07-31T12:08:21Z

Could be fun, but is way to difficult for me. I gave up after 30 tries or so of beating level 1 ;-)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Bass Drop by TimTipGames 2021-04-28T15:49:07Z

@fatebreak You are absolutely right, that something about the triplets is off. I don't think they are off time, but there certainly is a flaw in the trigger logic, that requires extremly short keystrokes to pass them without breaking the combo. I think it has something to do with the colliders of the keys overlapping with two notes at the same time and the totally messed up detection logic that I ended up with - typical game-jam attitude :-p The convoluted logic made it kind of impossible to solve the issue in time. But you are right and it still bugs me that I didn't have the time to solve that bug. I kind of don't consider it gamebreaking, so I don't want to fix it after the deal.

Glad you enjoyed it nevertheless and thanks for playing!

@rafabriet It was number one on my "if I have a little time left, I will do this next" list. Definitely would have been the top priority in terms of features.

Bass Drop by TimTipGames 2021-05-03T10:50:22Z

@thegreenworm You are absolutely right. I actually already did add some offset to adjust for reaction time. But probably not enough. Very good observations and great recommendations. Thank you for your constructive and helpful feedback!

Minet by Justine D 2021-04-27T09:35:39Z

This was a lot of fun! Great gameplay, nice "mini games". I am normally not a big fan of quicktime-events, but these were more like mini games, and added a nice little task to do to free the cats. The cat-a-logue ... brilliant. I love cats. That probably helped  I wish the upgrade effects were easier to see or would feel more impactful.

My absolute favorite detail is, how you solved the question: How do you get back up to the elevator, without making it a platformer. Could have used a teleportation mechanic, or not have asked the user to get back up at all, but no! The (best!) solution is: Lets make our character fly like a dragon-fly on steroids while being hooked to a rope that extends into infinity. Love it!

Dear Child by deformhead 2021-04-27T07:55:04Z

Great mood and well done for 24 hours! I wish there was more interaction.

Unholy Hole by RafaBriet 2021-04-27T08:10:38Z

Nice entry! I especially liked the graphics and mood. The movement felt a bit too floaty for my taste. The doublejumping was working kind of unreliable. I honestly wouldn't even mind, if the leveldesign wasn't so punishing. The first point being, that you have to start all over on a pretty long level. Maybe checkpoints, or if you don't have the time for that, just shorter length levels would help. The second thing is, that there were a few too many dead ends. It kind of adds to the first point. When I learned the new ability in the second level, it feels wrong to run in to a dead end the first time I use it. But maybe that's just me ;) Overall - good job!

Slicky Finger by Omaewander 2021-04-28T15:23:39Z

Really cool! I have never been that bully. Maybe we can have a victim group session and play this game to confront our trauma.

Low Notes by mhorth 2021-04-27T12:52:22Z

Hey there fellow rhythm-game-creator! This was really fun to play! I didn't experience any issue with synchronization of triggers and audio. The one thing that I would have found helpful, would have been better feedback on whether I hit the note correctly or not. I am really curious how you created the "levels" for these songs? Anyway, good job!
