LD19 — Discovery

Impatient Archaeologist by Hellfang 2010-12-24T23:04:00

A simple, clever and fun game, I enjoyed it. I think one thing that could add a lot to this game is a little variety to the enemies, like perhaps one that moves vertically or takes more hits to kill.

All-in-all an excellent Ludum Dare Entry, I had fun.

Case Closed by madk 2010-12-24T22:06:00

Really liked the art style and it fit the theme well, so overall I enjoyed your entry.

I only played through it once although it seems as though an alternate outcome is possible, if not I think it would add to the game a lot. Without an alternate ending this plays more like a visual novel with no real choice.

Overall a nice, interesting little game, had fun.

PSIENC - FOR THE GOOD by Squax 2011-01-06T06:40:00

Overall this was a really good entry. I don't know if this is what you were going for, but I found it to be very relaxing.

I thought the controls worked really well actually, although I would like to see the option of hot-keys for the different abilities. Basically just so I don't have to stop moving when I click on them.

I see you listed a variety of enemies on your asset list, it would be really cool to see those added at some point if you decide to work on this more. At the moment it is really easy to defeat the enemies (possibly why I found it so relaxing) so I think a little variety here would add a lot.

Nameless Island by edg3 2010-12-24T22:34:00

Although my game didn't crash when I finished the Bug Game, it ended itself when there was one left and I still couldn't access the bush.

It fit the theme really well although I was never really sure what I was meant to be doing so I could not complete the game.

It could be an interesting game once some of these things get fixed, solid entry.

dis_covery by jagttt 2011-01-06T06:00:00

Super fun game and I really liked the audio. Simplicity was definitely your greatest asset here, keeps everybody focused on the fun!

Only criticism I can think of, and maybe it's just cuz' I was bad at the game =[, is that the copters were a little hard to hit and streaming a combo of copter smashes would be awesome.

Dodge and Collect! by Elegwa 2010-12-24T23:15:00

The graphics and audio were pretty awesome, although I think the game play could use a makeover.

The biggest problem with it is probably that you don't benefit from shooting the asteroids, it's easier to just dodge and wait for the artifact. If this were to be a pure dodging and collecting game (which I think would be cool personally) I would increase the speed of the asteroids and force the player to focus on dodging them, or give some sort of reward for destroying an asteroid.

Or, you could hide the artifact inside one of the asteroids so the only way to find it is to "search-and-destroy" the asteroid field. Mind you, just my opinions, so do whatever you think is best :D

Good start you got here, as I mentioned before I love the graphics style and the audio.

BedBug by Zemmi 2010-12-20T21:47:00

Thanks for the compliments, but ya I realize it needs a lot more levels, unfortunately it took me quite a while to get the scripting functioning at a level I was happy with. To be honest all the levels, with exception of the first room and a testing room, were made within the last hour.

When I get more time I'm definitely gonna build upon this, I'll post as soon as I get around to it if you're interested.

Epic Spice Quest by feyleaf 2010-12-24T22:49:00

Couple things I noticed:
If you jump into anything with collision and hold space, you can remain floating in the air.
In the final level you can run around and pick up the map then warp through the left side to restart the room. The map will be there again and your discoveries will not have gone back to what they were before. That being said I haven't managed to pick up the map a second time without sliding into the finish line.

Fits the theme well, although I would have liked to see some puzzles in reaching the spices.
Game runs good and the controls feel nice.

Dr Discovery by drZool 2011-01-06T06:25:00

The graphics are really well done and the animations are sweet, so great job on those.

That being said, "gameplay is second" is fairly apparent here. The movement and camera feel nice, but other than that lack of variety and motivation led to me be bored after exploring about a quarter of the map. One big issue is that you can stand just out of range of the thugs and still take them out, after this is discovered it is nearly impossible to die.

Although seeing as how you also said that you were going to focus on polish this LD, you definitely succeeded in your goal as this is one of my favorite entries as far as graphics is considered.

LD20 — It's Dangerous to Go Alone! Take This!

Bad Hotel by jonbro 2011-05-03T19:34:00

Cool concept, but man do I suck at it. Thumbs up from me!

PandaBot by Little Angel 2011-05-03T07:05:00

The PandaBot looks totally radical and I agree with Tzachs, the umbrella seems like it could be a really good mechanic. I think if instead of having to press W and S for the umbrella, just holding one button to open and releasing it to close might have worked better. Could also be cool if the camera was less centered on PandaBot and showed a little more of what was coming up. I dig the concept, keep 'er up.

Dungeon Runners by Valandre 2011-05-03T19:17:00

Liked this game quite a bit, it has charm. As much as I am usually against running blindly into the darkness, you made it fun (but still dangerous). I would like if the movement were sped up, spent a lot of time waiting. Oh, and did the different characters do different stuff? If not I'm totally cool with that, just wasn't sure if I was missing something.

Das Sad by Zemmi 2011-05-02T02:17:00

Almost forgot to mention, I used FlashPunk (thank you Chevy), FlashDevelop, SFXR, and Audacity for what little audio I did.

Das Sad by Zemmi 2011-05-02T19:51:00

Well I see how it might be hard to find, but the relation was intended to be that when you are alone and die, you lose the game, so it's dangerous to go alone. The number of enemies also increases when there is only one player piece.

Das Sad by Zemmi 2011-05-03T22:11:00

Thanks for your feedback, and I see what you mean by nothing being "taken". Although I do feel like I need to make one last defense for theme, more or less as food for thought I suppose.

If I had re-skinned the game to be, I don't know, an (A)ssassin, (S)orcerer, and (D)ruid running through a dungeon, made the enemies into monsters charging down the corridors, and put up a little message when you spawned a new character saying "It's dangerous... take this". In retrospect I probably should have done that, but if I had would you still question the theme?

If your answer is yes, by all means rate theme how you see fit, just wanted to get that out there. Oh, and thanks again for the compliments! Looking forward to trying out your games. I should stop commenting on my own game now...

Drum Hammer Dig by trialbyfun 2011-05-03T20:01:00

Cool take on Minesweeper, I dig it. (HA!)
Have you played Zombie Minesweeper? It's another cool take on minesweeper.
http://www.kongregate.com/games/Frogtoss/zombie-minesweeper

Air Pirates by hamster_mk_4 2011-05-03T19:53:00

Wicked game, I would love to see this taken further. Rocket Pods seemed a little over powered and I wasn't sure what to do with the torpedo. Other than that though, it was really fun, I came back to play again, and I loved the setting. In my opinion, kickassery is you.

Danger! Take. by ExciteMike 2011-05-03T07:14:00

As mentioned by others: blob is awesome. As not mentioned: wallpaper is pretty cool too. Cool concept, but I never needed to use the shield. If you had to use one at a time and had a limit to how many would spawn, I believe a lot more strategy would come out of it. Cool idea, I would like to see it taken further.

LD21 — Escape

SurfN-2-Sur5 by Daniel X. Moore 2011-08-23T02:53:00

Pretty cool, like Basilios I liked the jumping. Maybe if you had some sort of collectible people had to jump for it would be more motivation to risk the jump itself. Or just walls or rocks there is no other way around.

Rainbow Jail by Benjamin 2011-08-22T22:02:00

Love this one, although it took me a little while off the bat to figure out what was happening. I'm also not so sure about the dark rooms, feels to be working against the games greatest strength. Other than that I love the game, characters and animations are awesome, and it's really cool that it is an adventure / puzzle.

Upset by thristhart 2011-08-24T06:44:00

Damn straight the Lord Master is my lover.

Illusion by abhilash2863 2011-08-23T01:54:00

Nice, reminded a lot of The Stanley Parable if you've ever played it, only yours is a platformer. I think it would have been cool if the player character didn't say anything, kind of let the player fill their shoes.

Escape Velocity by Mark Ffrench 2011-08-23T01:31:00

When it turned into a jet I was like "Whoa". So in other words, I liked the idea. It was a little hard to tell where the enemy jets would be shooting or coming at you from.

Freeway escape by Bartje321 2011-08-22T22:20:00

The controls were really smooth and it felt good dodging through traffic. Often I found myself stuck in a spot in traffic I couldn't quite pass, I think to keep the player feeling awesome about evading the police there should always be an opening to move through. If the game was purely about traffic avoidance, without cops, I would probably keep the traffic how it is now.

The Copenhagen E. Coli Epidemia by john_coffee 2011-08-23T01:18:00

I think the rocket toilet is a good game over... I think. But ya, I found it funny and liked the visuals just a bit confused about the game overs.

Hollow by Connor 2011-08-22T08:05:00

That was a pretty wicked and wicked pretty game. Found that secret leprechaun cave by the way, very tricky.

LD22 — Alone

Never Alone Hotline by Pierrec 2011-12-24T21:32:00

Nice, I liked this one. Got quite a few laughs out of being an ass to everyone, but maybe I'm just a terrible person.

Thanks for your review of my game by the way, "Spider-Man-supersonic-exhibitionist-that-feels-the-pee" (if Google translate was accurate) is now my favourite way to describe the character xD

http://geekadelphia.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/hellboy_legos.jpg <--- Also found some Hellboy Lego men, I wish they had full sets

Urine Trouble by Zemmi 2011-12-23T23:34:00

Thanks guys! Glad to hear you are enjoying it

Urine Trouble by Zemmi 2011-12-24T21:37:00

Pretty much for the reason SonnyBone said, or as Pierrec put it he's a "Spider-Man-supersonic-exhibitionist-that-feels-the-pee."

Things you do alone... by jeffz 2011-12-21T06:31:00

I hope this game was supposed to be funny, because I thought it was pretty hilarious xD (trying to avoid saying "it's funny cuz it's true hahaha" even though that is exactly what I mean)
I got a black screen after the first level too though, too bad.

Alone With Your Thoughts by 3ndo 2011-12-21T06:21:00

I like your original concept, too bad the scope was so big :P I think if you highlighted the letters the player had in enemy's trigger word rather than having to check the alphabet at the top of the screen it would have been a lot clearer what had to be done. Oh and Scrabble scoring sounds cool, but maybe that's the Scrabble fan in me talking.

Jim just wants to be alone by King 2011-12-21T06:41:00

Gotta say, when death is being bombarded by women I kinda wanna die. One thing I was expecting to work, but didn't, was holding the down key to pass through a platform. I understand that maybe this was to make it more difficult to escape the women, but being able to jump up through the platforms and not pass back down through them felt weird to me.

Rabbits... by fatgrin 2011-12-21T05:48:00

I agree with Atomic, if the zombunnies could get off the platforms night time would be a lot more intense and filled with bunny dodging action. But I understand that you ran out of time. Oh and I actually kinda like the music, it was just louder than I expected.

LD23 — Tiny World

Tiny Shipping by Martin Vilcans 2012-04-25T00:36:00

I agree with Farfin, either that or maybe an indicator to show me which direction to go.

Dude, where's my planet by Zamando 2012-04-28T02:08:00

Dude, that was cool. I'm sad that I suck at it, but I had a lot of fun flinging the flailing rocket man through the air. When the demon came in I had to give up, maybe most people are better than me but I would slow him down a bit. Stellar art and music too by the way.

stack::tracer() by nihilocrat 2012-04-25T00:42:00

I really like your game and would love to see more levels, they were just getting cool.

Super Strict Farmer by Benjamin 2012-04-27T07:15:00

Wicked man. My friend and I played a few rounds against each other, beat him every time. One thing though, every now and then we would forget whose turn it was especially when the teams were uneven. I know you can see the color on the selections but I think an icon off to the side of the screen on the current player's side would help.

Nanonaut by alexlarioza 2012-04-25T00:27:00

This was cool, can't wait to see what you do with it post-ludum. I kinda wish I didn't have to go back to my ship after every planet to heal (maybe I just suck though), especially when the music was just starting to take off. But I'm sure that will be better once you get more time to balance it.

The Big Bang by Zemmi 2012-04-25T00:47:00

@Pacifist Games There probably weren't quite enough children in the planet. I should have done what wgemigh says to make it easier but the original concept was a little less puzzle-y and I forgot to change some elements to fit.

The Big Bang by Zemmi 2012-04-26T19:11:00

Thanks guys, ya the original version is lame I don't know what I was thinking.
@YMM @Benjamin Unfortunately forgot about making a tutorial until the competition was almost over and the sentences at the bottom are kinda hard to understand by themselves. If I take this further I'll definitely put work into making a good tutorial.

The Big Bang by Zemmi 2012-05-04T22:16:00

@Pierrec @DaveDobson When you have birthed enough people to fill a planet a ring emits from the birthing planet. So there is indication, just really sucky indication. Nevertheless I agree that that shouldn't be necessary and the fixed version is just one click to birth the right amount. Thanks again for the feedback everybody!

Micro World by Oye Beto 2012-04-27T07:21:00

I had fun with this, I would change up the background so it looked less like walls though. Maybe less contrast on the background would make it have less depth.

LD24 — Evolution

Hunt'em! by Zamando 2012-08-30T18:35:00

You have taught me that evolution is both adorable and terrifying. Awesome art and music, I had a lot of fun especially when I had my sweet vengeance.

Yellow Dog by Barry Abrams 2012-08-30T02:23:00

I also got stuck in a poop loop, panicked cuz I thought he was gonna go on the floor so I spammed the "go outside" bottom. He pooped all the food and water right out of him, poor dog. Funny game, I enjoyed it.

RE-evolution: The Legend of Hopper by andreyin 2012-08-29T02:19:00

I agree with most people here, it was cool but checkpoints would have been really nice. Too bad you didn't ran out of time for the theme though, I like the idea of turning into your enemies. Also I think it would be cool if the levels had a bit more verticality or you could jump higher. Since the spears arc this might let players pull off fancier shots or gain an advantage over the enemies.

Octogeddon by flyingbear 2012-09-08T20:56:00

This was a kick-butt and a cool game. I had lots of fun planning what limbs I would get and where I would place them, my best build being 4 porcupines, 3 elephants, and 1 turtle got me to Wave 26.

If the upgrade menu showed an image of the octopus so you could click the leg you wanted to upgrade that would help a lot with clarity. It would also be cool if you could drag the legs around and swap their positions on the menu if you want to experiment with layout instead having to buy new upgrades when all you may want is a position change.

Other than that really cool, I think I played this entry the longest of all so far (I really wanted to try some builds), great job man.

SUPER Levolution by TheBallCollective 2012-08-28T22:41:00

Pretty fun and addictive, really wanted to beat the high score but only made it to 392 before dieing :( Music was awesome to "meow, meow"

Super Clew Land by Team Clew 2012-09-15T18:49:00

Awesome entry. At first I was ready to not like it, being colour blind it was hard to tell what was up with the protein pucks sometimes. Eventually I figured it out and pushed on through to the ending. The spike cave was really hard but that just made beating it all the more satisfying, great job Team Clew!

Dojo by Zemmi 2012-08-28T07:59:00

Ooops, didn't even think of it scrolling the web page, that was silly of me. Glad you found it fun though, I plan on starting a different version tomorrow night with new controls and some other changes, so hopefully that one will be a step up.

Dojo by Zemmi 2012-08-29T04:07:00

For those interested in what I aim to do with the new version I made a post http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2012/08/28/evolution-of-dojo/ Of course none of it is set in stone, but it should give an idea. If you like it or hate it let me know.

@Benjamin I may reduce the number of traits, hopefully that will help with clarity. But as is breeding takes the traits from both parents and gives one of each category to each child, perhaps in combinations a little too random. Orange traits are dominant and wipe out recessive ones but when matched with another orange act the same as a recessive.

The Balance by mr_Hk_ 2012-08-27T23:28:00

Gorgeous game. I was a little confused why hitting red made blue weigh more, then I finished and read that you're killing them. Makes sense but wasn't communicated too well in gameplay and I think collecting a population for the world could be better simply for communication reasons.

Also, I don't know how many people see the global stat tracking at the bottom of the page. That's really cool and the game feels awesome to control but I have to agree with most people that it gets a little stagnant with the lack of variation. I would love to see this game if you guys spent more time developing the chains, boosts, and leveling you mentioned.

Legacy Bird by Farfin 2012-08-27T22:56:00

Awesome. I had a lot of fun with yours. I was really hoping for an ending and I didn't see that "everything available after 10" comment so I kept playing for, well let's just say a long time. But ya, once I passed 10 it dried up a bit cuz my stamina was so high and enemies weren't getting any harder.

The other thing I didn't like was coming into a room vertically when enemies were right there. At least sideways I could walk in pointy-end first but up and down kept resulting in me being hurt a little unfairly.

On the plus side, the enemy AI fit well with the one directional attacks. Backing them down a hallway then turning to run away(if I didn't want to stab them) felt cool, like a knife showdown in an alley. So ya, I liked it and kind of want to make a similar game now, but an ending would have been nice just so I had something to aim for.

Legacy Bird by Farfin 2012-08-29T20:26:00

Just wanted to add I'm glad you liked my tiles because I based them off your hedges when you posted that screenshot.

Old Man Johnson's Lonely Explosion by superjoebob 2012-08-27T23:06:00

Awesome job man. Music kicked ass, which was suitable cuz so did the game. I didn't get very far (breakthrough) but I think that's because I didn't know you could clean-up your queue, I'll definitely come back and try it again with that in mind.

Beast Feast by UndergroundPixel 2012-08-28T03:40:00

Graphics were cute and I liked the monster gladiator setting but I agree with Waynetron that the progression felt a bit slow. I think an enemy with ranged attacks would be neat too, mix it up a bit and force me to be more proactive about killing it.

Ninjural Selection by axcho 2012-08-28T03:20:00

Quite fun to move around in but as you mentioned in your post there's no goal. Without any challenge or goal it gets boring kind of quick, with further development this could be sweet.

You may have an objective in mind but I have a suggestion if you don't. Since they're always falling towards the bottom maybe there could be a place to protect and a place to damage on the bottom. That would keep the player blasting dudes who were wandering near the protected area and punching out babies to land on the attack area. Reminds me of a pachinko machine full of monsters. I also really like the charging effect, good indication

Evoland by ncannasse 2012-08-29T02:47:00

That was fun, sweet entry. Funny and clever take on the theme, and looking for secrets is always cool. Didn't 100% it though, probably had to use my keys more strategically or something. 4/11 Gold Coins and 31/39 Chests, probably will come back again to do better.

LD26 — Minimalism

F*** This Job by Casino Jack 2013-05-02T20:03:00

Got in to work, saw a game called "F*** this job" and had to play it. Glad I did, awesome level design and well-executed all around. Played through all the levels. It would be cool if the replay started each iteration one after the other so it was more of a stream of exploding flesh than a wall.

MiniCave by aare 2013-05-01T01:15:00

Cool controls, I really liked how weapon switching worked Would have been cool to see a wider variety of weapon types, like a laser or spread shot. My high score is 1140.

Velocibox by invi 2013-05-02T20:18:00

Fun game, I replayed a bunch trying to beat that highscore in the screenshot you posted but only got 880. I guess the camera rotation adds to the challenge but personally I would have preferred a fixed camera since you can see all the walls anyway and the rotation was extremely disorienting for me. Wicked entry

QbQbQb by rezoner 2013-04-29T04:24:00

Cool game man, very clean graphics. Being colour blind it can be extremely hard to tell the difference between the reds and greens used. The music was very chill and fitting, felt relaxed playing your game despite struggling with colours :P Also I just tried reopening it to check something and it displayed as "undefined". Not sure if you're changing something or this is a bug.

Telekinetic Minimalist Cult 5: Packrat Nightmare by RobotLovesKitty 2013-05-02T16:36:00

Hilarious :D It would be cool it you could throw stuff at police to try and fend them off(maybe you could, I don't think I ever succeeded though) or be able to toss things out of windows on the second floor. Could be bombing your possessions off the top floor at a stream of cops piling up at the door. Loved it, so glad I could play in the street.

Spellbox by superjoebob 2013-05-01T03:43:00

I had lots of fun making funny expressions like: "Give voodoo a chance" and "Mythical fanny poots"

Drug Hunt by kill0u 2013-05-04T19:02:00

That was awesome, survived shrooms and blow but the pills are to hardcore for me. Sound was the best I've heard so far and figuring out the mini-games was really intuitive after I got one. Thumbs up, high five, good job.

Fearless by DragonSix 2013-04-30T04:30:00

Cool game, I REALLY like your enemies. The mask chasing you down as you run for the alarm shut off is creepy and awesome. I'm guessing the missing text you speak of is for power-ups? Cuz I had no idea I earned an ability until I got desperate for progress and mashed all my buttons again. Hope you work on this more, it's bad ass, played through to the end.

COLORFORM by torcado 2013-05-03T05:00:00

That was fun, really wanted to beat it but that unskippable tutorial is a real downer. Wish it were skippable but other than that I really enjoyed the challenge.

LD28 — You Only Get One

HootBow by Pixelulsar 2013-12-17T10:26:00

Your tiles are gorgeous. Kind of wish there was no ceiling, when enemies get up there there isn't really anything I can do but wait. Made it to round 6 then when I had killed everything the next round didn't load. Lots of fun though, would've liked to play further.

Blue Harpoon by FrederickK 2013-12-18T02:11:00

Cool game. Definitely had good stuff going for it, like being able to smash fireballs out of the air with the harpoon and having to run around the enemies retrieving it. Biggest issue I came across was sometimes the enemies would spawn on top of me, always a bummer when a good run ends that way.

Glitcher //nuts = 1 by 01rafael 2013-12-22T04:27:00

Haha man I love this character. Especially his pose while he's being slammed. Personally I didn't have troubles with the controls but maybe changing it so you can drag from anywhere instead of just from the character would make it easier for everyone.

Charon by jerombd 2013-12-18T02:22:00

Agree with everyone that this art is gorgeous. Well done. Would have been cool if there was some graphic in the background of each room so it was easier to figure out where I was going. Although having nothing to go on but latin and some guess-work kinda fits being lost in the River Styx.

Destructoblast by Doctor Broccoli 2013-12-16T22:02:00

Really like that the only floor is destroyed as you fight but would have preferred if falling killed you. As it is now so many health power ups are dropped I feel like I could last forever since nothing hurts too much. Good weapon variety, that plasma hose thing had a wicked effect.

Weird Egg & Crushing Finger by Mase 2013-12-17T09:57:00

That was awesome. Visually I really liked the mix of pixels, clay and photos. First play I was a terrible god, crushed every living thing that came across my path and was left with a barren island haha. Favourite thing was definitely the star-struck party.

Servassacre by doonay21 2013-12-21T18:20:00

Gotta agree with everyone, the controls are really hard. I had a previous LD entry that controlled similarly and everyone had problems with it too =P

I imagine a different shape like a star or rotatable horseshoe that had a place to cradle your minions would make it far more playable. If cradling defeats the purpose of your controls then maybe an octagon so there is at least a flat surface to work with.

Nevertheless cool idea and I adore how they fight each other. I could watching mobs of dots clashing all day.

Better Half by ocmu 2013-12-21T18:39:00

That was a neat mechanic, well done and good use of theme.

Since your partner walks around the whole level I can just hang with her and get everything I need with time to spare. I would enjoy if she moved less, forcing the player to run out of range and risk their ties being severed.

Cute graphics btw, loved the pandas and your partner's heart-shaped face.

Penguins Gone Mad by _zulli 2013-12-18T15:52:00

That was a lot of fun. Good variety of enemies so it never stagnated although it would have been cool to see a weapon type or two more. Perhaps a spread shot or an ice arrow to slow guys down that causes aerial units to crash and break on the ground. The planes were my favourite artwork, hilarious design.

The giant penguin was the death of me and when I restarted my score didn't reset to 0 :P

Wrecked by Pomb 2013-12-17T09:30:00

Wow good job, your artwork is great. I agree with AtomicVikings the rotation could increment less or maybe just having a stripe down the middle of his head would make it clearer which way he is turned. Had fun and got a high score of 12.

The Library *Real Name: Welcome to the Library* by Capitals 2013-12-16T23:32:00

Ditto the above, good start & the first Ludum is always the hardest.

Personally I don't like to develop graphics beyond just a bunch of colored squares until the core of the game plays as I want to. That why at least the game is done even if doesn't look like anything.

Wall of Fingers by LTPATS 2013-12-16T22:43:00

That was sweet, so many things I liked. Character sprite, wicked; audio, twisted (jump sound was the best); and that end of game face will happily haunt my memories.

Although not so keen on the one life to beat the whole game deal, only being able to pick one power-up per level was awesome. I'd really like to see this game with more power-up variety since the Levitation Cat mask was god-king levels of superior.

Graham Vs Lord Nebulon by Articulated 2013-12-16T23:09:00

Oh how I wanted to beat this, played for a long time and had fun throughout. Yet alas I make a poor space adventurer and Nebulon remains dastardly as ever. One issue, after dying by stalactite where you can't return to the level select.

Good work, I'll definitely try to clear all the worlds in the future.

Imposter by Korwegian 2013-12-16T22:15:00

The questions that had a subtle difference in the answer like: "5:03" being way too specific a time for a scheduled class to start or knowing where in the school they met rather than only which school, were cool. But a lot of the answers felt really random and I would just guess blindly, although it is funny that picking a question like "Which of you is real?" forces you to guess.

One Douchebag by raisedmedia 2013-12-16T23:43:00

Haha that was hilarious. Wish I could alternate fists left, right, x, c, and smack 'em super speed. Calm that douche storm with my fist storm. Oh no, perhaps I'm developing an ultimate fighting obsession.

Sludge City by Zemmi 2013-12-18T01:58:00

Wow, glad to see everyone enjoying it. I'm gonna be busy for a bit here but after Christmas I'll definitely get back on it and make more levels.

You only get one COLOUR by soy_yuma 2013-12-17T00:03:00

Great entry, quite fun and I loved the sound effects "bo, be, ba, beh". Always tried making little ditties at the level starts by switching colours. Personally I found the platforming too finicky on Neil Gagarin, couldn't make that jump to and from the single green for the life of me. But then again my platforming skills be weak.

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-18T16:12:00

Ah man, only beat two bosses but I feel the need to win so I'll be back for more punishment later. Art and audio is extremely well done and so far the brain boss is my favourite.

TITAN SOULS by Claw 2013-12-19T02:00:00

Came back to this and beat it. Waaay easier the second time around and when I'm feeling more patient haha. The ending was well done although I must admit I was hoping for more resistance. All around great entry.

superfrozenkittengetsonlyonesecretbottleforyou by evilindiegames 2013-12-18T15:32:00

Awesome style, would recommed everybody right-click and play this fullscreen. Do you know about Unity's LockCursor function? Basically just lets you hide the cursor and keep it within the game, would be nice if the cursor didn't keep showing up and interrupting your visuals. I tried and tried but could not find that secret bottle.

Monocraft by MaTX 2013-12-17T10:06:00

Cool idea, excited to see what comes out of this. Any chance we could get a download link for the song? It was so damn happy.

Thanks for the soundcloud link. I'm sure to listen to all the Yugenstudio stuff, pretty sweet so far.

Hydra by JoeProgram 2015-08-28T18:28:00

My Hungry Hungry Hydra for 7477 points with the same strat as @superfluous. Kinda expected them attacking the neck segment pieces to lop off(and keep off) all its attached heads to slow you down a bit, might lend a bit more give and take to the escalation. Anyway super cool entry, really enjoyed the concept and controls. Hope you work on it more.

Ya I did the menu graphics last and never got around to changing the in-game ones to match. Probably will do in a post-compo update.

The itch.io Web version didn't work for me when I tried uploading it from a mac but did when I tried from my PC. Don't know what's up with that yet.

Kaiju On Tour by alexrus07 2015-08-26T21:33:00

That was wicked. Agree with @mickanio that the cops should flash when they shoot. It works well that as chaos grows and corpses pile up they become more difficult to see but I straight up couldn't find them towards the end. Always died frustratingly stomping everyone to death trying to find the SOB responsible for hurting me.

This looks like it would be my favourite entry if only I had an HTC Vive.

Kubka by rujo 2015-12-15T21:35:00

This turned out really well. Although I had fun I agree with daandruff that landscape view would be nice as I want to anticipate the needs of the level a little more. Also Kubka is a great name and using the grow as a ledge grab in lvl 10 was pretty nifty.

Nice! Loved that walk cycle and snow goggles make everybody cool. Found a very exploitable bug though.

While the menu was open to transfer resources into my bag I was able to click the resource on the ground to refill it over and over until I selected exit and it disappeared. Because of this I could just fill up my bag to the max for every drop I found.

OneRoom72hoursChallenge by jin 2016-12-20T21:58:00

You don't really need the original files, not for Jam especially. But a lot of people appreciate the source code/project files being available to peruse. You can read all the rules here http://ludumdare.com/compo/rules/ xclementx may being saying that because they're on os/x and can't run an .exe without an emulator.

I really wanted to check this game out, the creepy theatre and your alien look like cool scenes. Unfortunately when the key dropped off that guys neck I couldn't pick it up so I never made it out of the first room.

LudumDare OneRoom - Blackback Mountain by kptemre 2016-12-14T05:28:00

Getting health from your partner while close was really cool, made we want to keep him safe and stay by his side until he was inevitably devoured by zombies.

I'm not sure but I think when selecting "Continue" it starts you from the beginning but shows the name of level you were last on. Like I continued from "The Final Day" and beat it really fast like it were level one, then the survival mode was completed as if it were just another level and loaded the next with no name anymore.

Being able to shoot on the in-between scenes was a great touch.

Moving-In Simulator 2016 by Zirrrus 2016-12-20T22:14:00

Super cool, so glad that you can fiddle with location and rotation while touching the ground. So many Tetris-like games don't do that and it is extremely frustrating when that feature is left out. It would be nice if instead of just the shadow it projected the collision-cube-grid at the location it was predicted to land. That would help a lot with planning for objects with nooks to fill. Had fun but only got 60% space efficiency on default room settings, those beds are huge and plentiful. People should just sleep outside.

Apricot Drop by Nixxor 2016-12-14T17:08:00

Thank you for making this. It is delightful.

Portal Hotel by ezolotko 2016-12-25T00:17:00

This is one of my favourite entries, really dig the aesthetic and that stun rod was so satisfying. It was nerve-wracking to wait for the ghost to crawl in close before I could shatter them. I would have preferred if the levels weren't procedural though, the fields of turrets that could get generated were a tad annoying.

Possessed Room by nodoxi 2016-12-14T05:40:00

Oh man I really hope you do a version with audio. This was already great and sfx would aid so much more tension. Just like Kris, that first ghost really made me jump.

The Chore by cxsquared 2016-12-14T22:24:00

I got 3/4 endings. Pretty glad our relationship ended, it seemed awful. Although I might also leave someone who takes everything off the shelf, puts it in the sink, then throws it out. Is the 4th ending cleaning everything and finding the evidence? I never managed to pull that off.

The Undersea Room of Jack Sisu by dingotime 2016-12-14T21:13:00

Submaroom was a great pun. I was mediocre.

The Employee by pLaw 2016-12-14T03:40:00

Beautifully done. Unfortunately ran into the same issue as oh_cripes where I couldn't turn off my alarm day 2, so my daily grind came to an early end. The stacks of paper blocking the doors until you finish work was so damn clever, loved it.

Room 007 by Lancelot Gao 2016-12-14T05:53:00

Wow I really love this. It felt really good when I found alternate solutions (or at least I think they weren't intended) like on level 4 rather than using the conveyor carpet you can use the map bed to flip into the wall, rebound and roll back under the bed and out. If you ever expand on this, I hope you do, more opportunities like that would be stellar.

Room 007 is a great name as well.

JazzHole by LoHii 2016-12-20T21:45:00

Really dig that low leaning, cool as ice, jazz man. Being able to control his snapping or have to use the walking lean to duck under things would be pretty great. Unfortunately I had a lot of trouble with the timing on the snare drums, that boost jump is so hard to get. Almost beat the 4 snare section but fell after the last drum and spawned above a void in an area I hadn't seen before that looks like it introduces walking on walls, which would be sweet but I sucked to hard to make it there legit.

Fancy Goldfish by A-Flat Miner Studios 2016-12-14T04:53:00

That cat really was an a-hole. Not really sure what the "Lack of self-control" death was caused by but the sheer variety of deaths was hilarious.

AREA 51 by Megalink 2016-12-14T03:16:00

That was great! Boss music was awesome, nice going Jackass.

I wish either my hitbox was smaller or the enemy bullets were slower, got pretty hard to dodge when fighting in corridors.

That three headed dragon at the end is awesome. I wanna meet that guy and invite him into my house.

Nest by Jonathan Whiting 2016-12-20T21:32:00

Cool idea, I enjoyed it a lot when dealing with an area with lots of turns but the straightaways got a bit tedious. Had four screens up before stopping. Probably would have played to completion if the room was smaller with more obstacles / less straightaways.

Flaming Garbage a Metaphor by toranoko 2016-12-14T05:03:00

The pixel art and audio in this are top-notch, great work. I like the concept but having a little variety in the gameplay would make it a lot more fun. Maybe if you could scoop water out of the toilet or sink for a big splash or something.

Flaming Garbage a Metaphor by toranoko 2016-12-14T05:03:00

Don't know if you can delete your comments but don't worry about it. Those two are perfect together.

Tripoly by WeaverDeveloper 2016-12-18T17:54:00

That was a lot of fun. The sphere world is a great design for being able to see upcoming obstacles but still be able to get the camera up close to the environment. Would be nice if the keyboard input for Torpedoes was Space, Right-Click, or something that would let me continue strafing while firing.

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Hurt-It by recursor 2018-12-04T07:49:38Z

Definitely had fun but man I suck at this game. Got to the blue key after a few tries but died immediately thereafter. Afraid that's the extent of my progress. Love the audio, all the little plops of my bullets, the satisfying rockets. Good stuff.

An Adventure within a Deep Forest by BoltKey 2018-12-03T18:55:59Z

Yes! Love it. The sacrificing of abilities mechanic was really interesting and well executed. Added a lot of depth to the puzzles. I would agree that the [p]erspective button responded too quick and just disoriented me, but it wasn't much of a problem. One perspective seems fine. Also found myself going to the green orb thinking it was related to the green trees. I know the sword symbol was there for that, just my impulse to match the greens I guess.

Excited to see more levels if they get made. Great game.

The Altar of Sacrifice by Rombus 2018-12-03T03:03:00Z

Loved it. Always a good time sacrificing pigs and people. Chasing down the reptilian thief to get the cash bonus was a nice touch. I did find it a little too easy to just hang out by the altar and sacrifice villagers who spawned next to me. But no big deal, still a good time.

Hide n Seek by iggythegrifter 2018-12-03T06:15:27Z

This turned out way more serious that I was expecting. Appreciated how things contrasted and your questioning of "must".

Glad I still like apples.

A.I. Careers Advisory Service: Your Path To Success by garygreen 2018-12-03T06:28:10Z

I say you achieved 100% success in your chosen Ludum Dare entry. The literal career ladder littered in sacrifice was a smart design. Also loved the character flickering back and forth between human form and a question mark.

Plus, music, music was great.

superstar by t-mw 2018-12-05T20:14:21Z

Fun time, really liked how you would have to back out sometimes and destroy all your energy just to save yourself. There were a couple attempts were all of the lanes would be cut off by those single falling tiles and I was left dead in the water waiting for the wave. Not sure if that was intended but I found it pretty disappointing since it felt less like my fault than the game trapping me.

Despite that, I played a lot. Managed a best score of '584'

The Cold Remains of Warmer Days by TheOneThatNeverWas 2018-12-05T21:44:52Z

Really enjoyed my time here, well executed and gorgeous. Although I also ran into problems at the bottle-smashing. Might be nice if typing before the flowers were out made the avatar squirm, wince, or react in some way just to see that typing causes some reaction in that segment. Was probably my favourite part of the game once I got it, but the pace was pretty much halted while I figured it out.

The Sacrificer by Deemoo 2018-12-04T08:05:51Z

I adored the character sprite. Damned good. For four months of learning game dev I'd say you're doing great. Agree with Daniel that the gameplay gets pretty repetitive. Being able to mess up and throw people the wrong way added a lot, but there was rarely a cause to move right and make that mistake. Maybe some enemy variety like a ranged attacker that forces you to dodge and move right would bring that into play. But I get that it might have been out of scope for the jam deadlines.

Keep at it though, you're doing a good job so far.

My metro by Nearpit 2018-12-05T20:29:41Z

Nice! Great idea. Having to sort through a crowd with those push controls is really interesting. The first level seemed a little long. The game really shines when you have to sort out a large crowd and I don't think it takes as long as the first level gives to get comfortable with the mechanics.

Also is there meant to be a third level? I had the "Next Level" screen pop-up but couldn't progress.
