LD18 — Enemies as Weapons

Kanbran by DrPetter 2010-09-06T15:38:00

Great cohesive feel and nice mechanics. Somewhat let down by the unpredictability of the enemies combining with the sluggishness of the ground stomp attack, it felt more like luck than judgement. Also, essentially replaying each previous stage after the new one got tedious. I'm nit picking on a very solid entry though, good job!

Crustacean Cannon by Hellfang 2010-08-23T15:15:00

Really loving the graphics. It felt like the mechanic would have worked better in a less rigid puzzle-esque enviroment. Controls are a nightmare on a trackpad, but I can't really hold that against you.

Fail-Deadly by invicticide 2010-08-26T14:07:00

I absolutely adored your take on the theme, and, whilst I'd expect replayability to be veeeeery low I did have a blast. The blast was well done too :)

The only real negative for me was that it felt like my impact on the world was less than it ought to be, and, specifically like you were pulling sides to make one side (in my case the blue) faaaar more effective than in other. As such my agency felt unjustly limited.

Grabitas by NMcCoy 2010-08-23T15:31:00

Perfect example of how a simple idea well executed and polished is a great thing. Found the difficulty curve flatten a bit though, after a couple of games I had a game that took me safely to 821 (and then I got bored).

Great interaction of mechanics.

Basketball girl by JDruid 2010-08-24T23:58:00

I loved this. Genuinely hilarious and completely hatstand.

The exploding head mechanic worked out surprisingly well, though it wasn't clear why you might want to use a head as a weapon when the enemies *aren't* packed together.

Still, good effort!

dance dance dance by nyarla 2010-09-06T15:14:00

Rather challenging, interesting mechanics, and pretty amusing. I liked it. Given the themeing it really desperately needed some music though.

MegaTongue by piotrekb 2010-08-26T13:57:00

Congrats on your first entry! It was a bit confusing to start out, and a bit frustrating further in. I liked the dark 'patchwork' world a lot though, rather evocative.

Camma The Huntress by Scramasax 2010-09-06T15:48:00

Potential, but not really realized. Was a lot of time taken up by tech?

Lolcat. by AndrewBC 2010-08-24T23:21:00

What an odd game. It's kind of terrifying. Blood spewing cats, and zombies that look vaguely sexually aroused. The horror!

I liked the unusual resolution, and the gameplay seemed surprisingly balanced (I see things like 9 lives and I get the fear).

OrbIt by Nugsy 2010-08-24T23:50:00

The concept is pretty good, but the mechanic ended up feeling a bit weak because it was rather too easy to just dodge between the orbs. I think it would be better if the orbs were larger in comparison to the width of the playing field.

Fib by Sophie Houlden 2010-09-06T15:22:00

Very interesting concept, but I found the interface very unwieldly indeed. I can't help feeling that the concept might have worked better if it wasn't a platformer.

Bouncing Bellyfloppers by Entar 2010-08-24T23:43:00

4710.

An good variant on a missile command style game. The early game was a bit slow, but once the helicopters really started rolling in it got pretty great. The spring sfx was great.

Did feel like a bit of sideways velocity on the bellyfloppers would have added a lot of gameplay depth. Even more so if it was aimable.

Metagun by Notch 2010-08-26T13:50:00

Whilst there was an impressive amount of features for the timeframe I'm left feeling that a smaller but more polished set of mechanics would have felt significantly better.

I may simply be biased slightly for having ended my (previously only mildly frustrating) playthrough early by getting irrevocably and unfairly stuck in a wall.

Killer Knife-Robots from Knife Planet K by Jerm 2010-09-06T15:43:00

I liked the concept, but the gameplay felt very loose (I couldn't see any great correlation with what I was doing to how well I was doing).

Leave Me Alone by hamburger 2010-08-26T14:16:00

I didn't manage to finish it (got stuck on the ring-of-tendrils style level). Seemed a solid exploration of a simple but well realized mechanic (always a good thing). The music was great and fit, strangely, it felt like it oughtn't.

I don't understand what the title and theme text have to do with anything.

Fire, Fire, Where You Are by Jonny D 2010-08-24T23:28:00

Haha, I kept on accidentally setting the houses (and myself) on fire. This game reminds me of a story my mum used to tell about how she 100% genuinely believed that firemen went round setting alight to peoples houses when she was young.

I love the full title, and the solid fire simulation. Oh, and props for recovering from catastrophic source faliure (next time, version control! ;)

The controls are a little less lovable.

LD19 — Discovery

Q-Bers by recursor 2010-12-20T12:02:00

The instructions screen audio is amazing. Really enjoyed the game, though the number of cubes should have gone right down again after the full rotation is enabled, it was suddenly waaay too hard.

Apple Quest II: Return of the Discovery by cptalbertwesker 2010-12-20T10:21:00

Interesting use of theme.. I liked the art a lot. Couldn't get past level two, and the level up/down pop ups are quite irritating.

Night of the Muglies by sol_hsa 2010-12-20T10:13:00

A simple mechanic rendered compelling through strong aesthetics, great work! I played a normal length game, and with the lack of substantial variation I was ready for it to end before it did.

Disc Over Y by voxel 2010-12-20T11:28:00

Having problems running this (on Windows 7), it appears on the task bar, but then sits there doing nothing.

Circus Peanuts by NMcCoy 2010-12-20T11:22:00

Really solid experience, with a surprising amount to it. Does perhaps suffer a bit from its ambition, and it's a shame there's not a great deal to differentiate it.

FAILBOT by T8000 2010-12-20T10:32:00

The visual stlye was unique, and cohesive enough to hold itself together nicely. I found the amount of backtracking very tedious indeed, and the collision + the way you stopped upon changing scene were a little frustrating too.

Land of Fodnal by Benjamin 2010-12-20T11:38:00

This seems to have a load of potential, but it's perhaps a bit too confusing to figure out in its present state. Would love some instructions!

Coffee Forever by Jake Birkett 2010-12-20T10:06:00

Most certainly a discovery game, the sound effects amused me a great deal, and the title screen is great. The spike hit-detection seemed very aggressive, I kept on dying unpleasantly easily against them.

Husk by Jonathan Whiting 2010-12-20T12:06:00

Yeah, sorry, I think I was full on head-down busy at work whilst you were there or I'd have said hi properly. I've got my ticked booked for tigjam, so yes, will be in Cambridge again then. Cheers!

Explosive Transcendental Circulatory System by NiallM 2010-12-21T14:33:00

Wow. Enjoyed!

The Detectorizer by danblack 2010-12-20T11:49:00

Surprisingly compelling despite the simplicity. The chasers add the required tension to break what would otherwise be a rather tedious task. I enjoyed myself, though I'm not sure I'll be back for another game.

LD21 — Escape

The Blueprints by recursor 2011-08-23T06:28:00

Liked the blueprint themeing. Had issues with the stealth mechanics, it was never really clear why sometimes I failed to kill a guard and sometimes succeeded. Voice acting was amusing/impressive.

Moustache Chick by joekinley 2011-08-23T20:51:00

The mechanics were pretty interesting, but oh gah, arrrrg, the controls, OW!

The Villainous Villa by EricTheCoolDude 2011-08-23T06:14:00

Really lovely. So much done with so little in the way of code heavy mechanics is really inspiring. Really quite amusing too. Good work.

Forever Running by Fenmar 2011-08-23T20:58:00

Agreed on the hitboxes, deeply unforgiving. Also the insta-death combined with lack of precognition makes this brutally hard to players that aren't also the designer.

However, despite all that I found a lot about this charming. Especially the enemies :)

Brine by morganquirk 2011-08-23T21:17:00

This was really good. The water effects and environment are pretty excellent.

The hiding mechanics were a bit inscrutable, and it would have been better if they were more obvious, but in ways the lack of clarity did add to the tension.

The scattered but obviously meaningless pickups annoyed me, though the end game payoff did lessen my annoyance at that considerably.

Good job!

EvilMegaCorp by leksapeksa 2011-08-23T21:02:00

Big props for finishing something, even if it isn't the most dramatic thing ever shipping it is all important!

Antagonist by Jonathan Whiting 2011-08-24T08:50:00

Jerm: Oh, wow, that's quite a time. Have a couple of ideas for your prize, but need a little time to prep it. Hope you don't mind the wait.

heck: Of course I made the music myself! Spent a few hours on Saturday evening pulling something together in FL Studio. I'm ever so glad you liked it, music is traditionally my weak spot. That panicked but cunning chase seen feel is definitely something I was trying for.

Generally: Thanks everyone for the kind words. So happy you're enjoying it. Also, yeah, it's not an empowering kind of jump, but for better or worse it was an intentional design decision; I wanted any progress to feel like it came from cunning, not intrinsic power.

Cheers! :)

The Island by balorian 2011-08-23T06:35:00

Maybe I just suck, but I found this waaaay too hard, couldn't really achieve anything. Decent scope for a weekend, but I think you'd have benefited from less mechanics and more polish.

No Escape by heck 2011-08-23T21:07:00

Hahaha, I am hilariously terrible at this game; I'm enjoying it a great deal because of this, but would love to not have to reach for my mouse to restart.

Escape!! by kasper 2011-08-23T06:20:00

I liked the way you used the themeing to make something otherwise a bit tiresome much more engaging. I really would have preferred it if I'd reached an ending before I gave up.

STOPCOCK by superflat 2011-08-23T21:39:00

Exactly the sort of utterly charming stuff I've come to expect from you Jasper. Lovely :D

LD22 — Alone

Abandoned by Noel Berry 2011-12-22T18:12:00

Generally very strong entry. Good mechanic, nice art, pretty polished. Controls are quite a way from intuitive (first time I played I didn't realise I could shoot grapple upwards).

After the initial ah-ha of the core mechanic there wasn't much else compelling going on for the rest of the game. It was just more of the same.

Tower of Abominations by PaulSB 2011-12-19T21:26:00

Loved the intro transition, and the billboard chars in 3d are surprisingly endearing. The RPG combat as puzzle idea was nice, but it was kind of awkward to actually figure things out. Also wasn't clear why by abilities kept on appearing and disappearing.

Coracao Branco by Ganondox 2011-12-21T19:47:00

I got through a few screens, but got stuck on "a stranger in strange land". I'm not adverse to this sort of puzzle, but the combination of hard to understand interface and seeming lack of puzzle direction isn't working out for me.

Minicraft by Notch 2011-12-22T13:43:00

Well, it's a very competent minecraft demake, sure. It really needs something more/different to work. It all feels kinda flat though; why bother with minicraft when minecraft exists?

Unfinished World by markengley 2011-12-21T19:55:00

You squeezed a lot out of a little. The combat mechanic was surprisingly pass-able, and the lack of health etc. was a wise decision. I can't say that the minimalist graphics hurt much either. Obviously not the most stunning entry, but it's still worthwhile.

Craequ by Jonathan Whiting 2011-12-19T08:08:00

Yep, it is completable. There's even a small ending of sorts. Glad you liked it :)

Glibber Alone by haubna 2011-12-19T21:11:00

Flawed, no doubt, but a valiant effort nonetheless. I really liked the particle squidge on the jumps.

Hikikomori Manager 2012 by VDZ 2011-12-21T20:13:00

An interesting concept, and a fairly well realised one. The fuzzy photographs and bleary noise soundtrack do more for atmosphere than rushed together game art could.

I'll admit I got bored of the game pretty quickly and just let myself go. This didn't feel inappropriate.

Fur Ever Alone by TentacleNoises 2011-12-19T20:52:00

Pretty great for a first game. Art was nice. Unfortunately tThe controls do rather let it down though.

Calculon's Revenge by whaddon 2012-01-07T09:00:00

Cheers to Zuieni for the windows build.

The height of the jump and the speed of horizontal movement really don't mesh. Art wasn't *that* bad really, clear, consistent, reasonable colour choices.

GloW by DevMax 2011-12-21T20:04:00

Impressed by the scale and construction of the level. A lot of content.

The controls/movement was a bit painful. Not really sure that there was any point at all in the mines and shots, I think the game would have been better served without them.

LD23 — Tiny World

Tinysoft by wurstknifte 2012-04-24T06:11:00

A lesson for next time is if you only have 48/72 hours, half-life the rpg is probably not the best choice!

Reading messages with space and closing with enter was rather frustrating. Still, every hung together pretty well tech wise.

World Saver! by Zythiku 2012-04-23T06:37:00

This game is way hard, even on easy. I find it near impossible to find more ammo, which combined with the audio gave things a neat survival horror vibe, but also made me stop playing in frustration before too long.

Sun Bringers by ChronoDK 2012-04-23T06:42:00

Nice concept, well executed. Actually playing was a bit too much trial and error to be truly enjoyable though.

The Little Glitch by Kroltan 2012-04-23T06:45:00

Nice theme. Despite my best efforts I couldn't make it further than the initial platform!

Flight of the Ladybug by robcozzens 2012-04-23T06:58:00

I've played countless games like this; the 3d is extremely well done though. Wasn't able to finish.

Teeming by DaveDobson 2012-04-23T07:02:00

Neat idea/simulation. Gameplay was rather one-tone. Liked the sfx!

Copulous by keely 2012-04-26T19:57:00

I like this, this is fun. Balance is a bit skewy, pretty easy to keep the population in check for quite some time.

Lost Oxide by SidetrackGames 2012-04-23T06:24:00

Nice look, reasonable feel; good work, but it's very frustrating to play. Exploration game with darkness, hidden spikes, and no checkpoints? Ouch! I couldn't stick it out to the end.

Microscopia by azurenimbus 2012-05-11T12:42:00

A simple idea, but lovingly produced. Exactly the sort of thing I love to see, awesome music too.

microchip by DiscoFish 2012-04-26T19:53:00

Really nice work, incredible aesthetic, was a bit of a shame that the game was a bit short of interest after the first minute or so.

Pixel MMO by daniel 2012-04-26T19:55:00

Didn't really work for me sadly.

Jack by PaulSB 2012-04-23T07:20:00

Yay Paul, this is really neat/funny/awesome.

The boss stopped me in my tracks for a bit (flew over him trying to figure it out). Then it clicked!

Liked the pythonesque limbs, and the music too.

Nook by PoV 2012-04-24T06:02:00

Awesome pixels, but why why why the ugly blended scaling! D:
Movement felt a bit unbearable too, reaaaaaally slow horizontal accelleration/movement.
It's a shame because otherwise this is pretty wonderful.

Angle Isle by Rusty Moyher 2012-04-23T06:30:00

Simple, but charming. I love the wind riding mechanic. Was hoping for a cute ending.

Triskelion by 23 2012-04-26T20:02:00

Haha, I absolutely love the early 90's cheap shareware vibe this gives me. Wish my bombs were a bit more powerful/less buggy.

Superpixel by lectvs 2012-04-24T05:38:00

Even easy is pretty darn hard! Did complete/enjoy it though. Level design was really tight. Liked the pixel animation, but theme did feel a bit loose generally.

Wander by Dramble 2012-05-12T18:21:00

I liked this. The irritating text bleep took me out of the immersion a lot more than it ought to have!

Niña Nueve by Jonathan Whiting 2012-04-24T12:31:00

I was aware that the leading puzzles would be a little irritating, but I liked them too much to drop, and ran out of time to find a nice way to 'fix' them.

I guess I pick palettes mostly by instinct. If anything the important bit is I pick my palette outright before I start pixelling, and force myself to stick to it.

A Super Mario Summary by johanp 2012-04-26T20:03:00

Lovely concept, very nicely executed! Really misses some music..

Dr. Biology's Educational Game by Draknek 2012-04-23T16:01:00

Fun. Nice mechanic. Aches for a multi-step undo button/key.

Backyard Pirates by bompo 2012-04-26T20:09:00

Absolutely charming concept. Lovely art/feel. Sinking mechanic felt a bit opaque. Sound should be on by default! (and ideally a bit punchier)

Tinyvilization by Lythom 2012-04-26T20:40:00

It took me some time to get the hang of what was going on (didn't read the strategy guide, like to figure this stuff out for myself). Had a lot of fun figuring out the system and how to do well, beat all the levels in the end. My top strategy was: MML-UUTRMCMCMCMC (the MCMCMC turtling is perhaps a bit too powerful, maybe games should stop a little sooner).

Ecosim by cirolve 2012-04-23T06:54:00

Amused me for a bit, but really needs some sort of hook to keep me around.

Planet 161 by saint11 2012-04-23T07:13:00

Really awesome work. Very well envisioned/put together.

This Precious Land by Ishisoft 2012-04-23T06:52:00

I'm not very good at enjoying things like this, but the graphics and mechanics are charming as hell.

Nibbles by NefariousZhen 2012-04-24T05:40:00

Web link doesn't seem to work for me. Windows 7 + Firefox.

LD25 — You are the Villain

Spy Trouble by Sos 2012-12-17T11:07:00

This is really great.

(Don't) Save Christmas by infernet89 2012-12-17T10:36:00

Well, it's an okay missile defence clone. Wish there was more to it than that though.

Globe Hacker by rasmusrn 2012-12-17T10:08:00

It's entirely possible I was missing something important, but this was super-hard for me, even on easy.

Nice idea though, and fairly slick.

Conquer all the castles!! by Ithildin 2012-12-17T10:03:00

Title screen made me laugh out loud :D

Game was okay, but kind of tedious if I'm honest.

Demons in Dungeons by blay09 2012-12-17T09:49:00

A surprisingly large amount of stuff in this, but the difficulty is crazy, I got past the first level, and then the second completely stopped me.

Crunch Crunch Boom by Sigrath 2012-12-17T10:14:00

Web version isn't working for me (on Ubuntu), just get a screen filled with warning tape lines. Shame, looks interesting!

Happily Ever After by GameRespect 2012-12-17T10:23:00

Reaaaally love the way you subverted the platformer mechanics to tell a very different story.

I'm a little muddled as to what was happening in the first altercation, just before the police take you away. Didn't wreck it for me though, the ending was quite poignant.

A fine first effort!

Granny's Gummies by tim_u 2012-12-17T09:59:00

$104 damage!

So I the game feels rather abstract for it's theme; felt a bit isolated from the idea by lack of sounds/visuals of things getting wrecked etc.

It's a nice idea though, and the first time I sent a kid into sugar crash gave me a big grin.

Under a bloody sky by NuSan 2012-12-17T10:25:00

Really like the graphics, something genuinely different which is great. Obviously I'd have welcomed something to do.

Die a Hero or Become the Villain by Mr. Wonko 2012-12-17T10:38:00

Couldn't find the way to actually become the villain.

Liar's Lair by madmaw 2012-12-17T09:56:00

The rules seem a bit light to really sit down and play (also I lack people), but I do like the idea. It's a bit hard to see that it will play a great deal different to a game of Cheat.

Final Days of the Victor by KhaoTom 2012-12-17T10:12:00

That was really nice. The writing was good, and the sound effects helped a lot with the mood. The css theme seemed a bit chirpy for the content!

NONEX by feiss 2012-12-17T10:47:00

Really enjoyed the concept, but the reality of the game seemed to mostly about spamming as hard as you can. Nice music.

Escape by irl 2012-12-17T10:40:00

A bit abstract to be really enjoyable.

LD26 — Minimalism

Arco by lightspeedlucas 2013-04-29T15:29:00

I found this frustratingly difficult so I didn't manage to finish. A beautifully realized game though. Really good for the theme.

Eraseregg by OddballDave 2013-04-29T15:12:00

Really interesting idea, but the player movement made it rather frustrating to actually play. The art is nice.

Digging For A Potato by kewry 2013-04-29T13:53:00

Love the idea of mining diamonds to eat potato. Could have done with more signalling that you are low on fuel/hull.

And Then There Were None by DreamThorn 2013-04-29T13:28:00

Wow, I really can't figure out the mechanics on this at all. Pretty interesting though for that exact same reason.

Pyramid by PaulSB 2013-04-29T11:10:00

Got to level 18 or so, really enjoyed the opening out level mechanic. Found it a little hard to figure out tactics (beyond dodging is good + the blue things can heal you when you kill them).

Deep Freeze by Lycaon 2013-04-29T13:24:00

Couldn't figure out how to make a fire.

Audio really sold the feel of a place.

DoubleW by CharlesBoury 2013-04-29T16:41:00

This is great. If only it had audio :(

consequences by Hypnohustla 2013-04-29T16:47:00

Was *really* excited when I got to the driving section, but as per the others, died almost immediately, which is a real shame. Lovely art style.

Play The Game by Fervir 2013-04-29T15:09:00

Haha, pretty amusing. Some of the games are a bit obtuse the first few times. Fun though.

MiniCrawler by Nezzhil 2013-04-29T15:03:00

The looseness of the collisions became very frustrating before long, but there was definitely some nice stuff in here. Particularly enjoyed the rolling boulder art.

Minimalist Dungeon Crawler by Cranky 2013-04-29T15:56:00

Sadly crashes when I try to run it. No particularly useful information, just "do you want to send an error report to microsoft".

Dieter Rams Memory by PixelArtM 2013-04-29T13:43:00

Lovely pixelly machinery, but the game got tiresome. Was annoyed I didn't have a chance to play the turntable before I failed.

Ascent by HybridEidolon 2013-04-29T15:52:00

Well that was rather nice. I've seen similar ideas before, and the difficulty was fairly high, but I really loved the playful level design; particularly the amount of interest you rung out of a simple spring mechanic.

Vast by FunByJohn 2013-04-30T12:36:00

Super nice atmosphere, but got pretty bored once it became "just trawl through all the screens till you find someone and see if something happens", it could be that I'm being dumb about the glyphs in some way.

Oh, and somehow it took me ages to realize how to interact with people.

llab by tonic 2013-04-29T13:47:00

Super frustrating that you go all the way back to the start when you fail. The ball movement feel is super nice though (played with xbox controller). Audio is different in a good way.

MIN by s0ulcrusher 2013-04-29T13:38:00

I love love love the aesthetics of this, super cool!

I'm not a fan of unity platforming at the best of times, and this was not that, so yeah, gameplay wise pretty frustrating.

Princess Chardonnay in Bomb Kingdom by Ishisoft 2013-04-29T11:17:00

This is great Craig :D

I love the mechanics, and the puzzles I've played so far are brutal but really clever. Shame about the lack of audio, would have really sold it :(

Pieces by wolfadex 2013-04-29T15:21:00

Nicely original movement scheme. Like the art style quite a bit too. Only thing that saddened me was that level design degraded to mostly "dodge this thing" pretty quick.

Rapid Tunnel Future by syre 2013-04-29T14:56:00

This is really nice but some sfx would have made a world of difference.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

SUNK by GeorgeBroussard 2014-04-28T12:14:00

Does something simple, but does it very well. I could stand a lot more LD entries to be like this! :)

PCB Racer by ezolotko 2014-04-28T11:44:00

On windows "The program can't start because MSVCP120.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

PCB Racer by ezolotko 2014-04-28T12:29:00

Thanks for fixing!

I kind of adore the ultra harsh music, was giggling like crazy playing this. The off the track punishment was both too vague and too extreme, a substantial speed punishment for veering off would be far more enjoyable.

Deus ex Submarine by Jod 2014-04-28T10:53:00

The mix of melodrama and comedy did not sit that great with me; and I felt like the captain was coming up with plans whilst I sat back, rather than me *playing* the captain.

Did enjoy the weird mix of art though, and the idea is pretty nice.

Hughes by SnoringFrog 2014-04-28T11:08:00

Couldn't extract the Win-32 build zip. Only 20kb? Seems dubious.

neon subsurface by JALgames 2014-04-28T11:42:00

Cute idea. Pretty incomprehensible without careful poring through description. Collision detection feels over enthusiastic.

Deep Calls To Deep by Romko Pidstryhach 2014-04-28T17:35:00

Very beautiful, but not especially enjoyable. Failure seemed to come from bad luck, rather than player mistake.

Dr. LOVE by Cell 2014-04-28T11:36:00

Pretty, but rather shallow.

Digable Planet by Oddly Shaped Pixels 2014-04-28T11:59:00

Nice concept+look+sound. Feels balanced towards players who already know exactly what they are doing, lost 5-6 times without really knowing why before I started to get the hang of it. Especially harsh if you run out of enough blue to do more digging.

Ben is the Surf Ace by lessmilk 2014-04-28T12:25:00

The delightful animation and music really sold this.

Everybody Hates Water Levels by Paladin 2014-04-28T11:26:00

Getting "Error: Erreur de fichier!" when I try and run. Windows 8, 64 bit.

C=AVERUNNER by MrShortee 2014-04-28T11:50:00

The musical coins are interesting, and the art is pretty nice, but I found the low visibility of the rocks highly frustrating.

BULLA by moonmagic 2014-04-28T15:12:00

The blood is sooooo pretty.

The Transgression by increpare 2014-04-28T11:12:00

Enjoyed!

From under the snow by madflame991 2014-04-28T12:09:00

Nice art, and an interesting thing. Near enough incomprehensible though.

Wyrmery by Jonathan Whiting 2014-04-29T12:28:00

hissssssssss: If you run it from a command line and get me the full text of/a screenshot of the command line it would be a huge help!

Ascent by sstrandberg 2014-04-28T12:23:00

This s really interesting, but I really need some easy intro terrain to get a feel for the controls, it's just toooo weird.

You're Pulleying My Leg by Draknek 2014-04-28T12:02:00

Really great, but reaaaally hard.

LD33 — You are the Monster

Aglæca by philomory 2015-08-24T11:58:00

Please do find a way to package this for other people. Would like to try it :)

On Monsters by richy486 2015-08-24T15:00:00

Enjoyed the variety of visitors. Game lasted a little longer than I wanted it too.

Monster Jailbreak by voxel 2015-08-24T12:23:00

The eyes! The camera! The respawning! Oh my! I had fun.

Klonos by Azlen 2015-08-24T15:40:00

Nice complete entry. I first found the combat a bit impenetrable, and then later a bit tiresome.

Pinky The Monster by whiskeyedraccoon 2015-08-24T15:17:00

Such a cool monster!

Arachnoid by nicotuason 2015-08-24T11:56:00

This was really nice! Very good level design. The movement was a bit glitchy in places, but impressive overall. The vertical room near the end was a pain in the bum, but I finished just before I started to feel frustrated.

Loveless : a multiplayer story by Mark Venturelli 2015-08-24T12:12:00

An interesting thing. All the placeholder text (I assume it was placeholder text) gave it all a kind of strange poetry vibe that felt appropriate.

BECOME by JustinJ 2015-08-24T15:24:00

This has some really nice stuff going for it, but arrrrrg, the level design is soooo damn harsh!

Adula by conormn 2015-08-24T19:59:00

This was really charming. I could definitely stand to play a longer version of this.

Monsterhythm by danialias 2015-08-24T15:19:00

This is suuuuper hard. Love the monster animation.

Scare to Safety by Viza 2015-08-24T15:06:00

This was cute :)

yummy, tasty humans by undef 2015-08-24T14:50:00

This was a nice little thing :)

Dat Blob by MCPGNZ 2015-08-24T02:23:00

Not on Windows at the moment, so didn't play, but I enjoyed the game description a lot.

You're It! by cambrian_era 2015-08-24T15:13:00

That was a cute concept, I would have liked to see even more dramatically different movement behaviours for each of the friends.

Bloodworm by Jonathan Whiting 2015-08-24T10:35:00

Uploaded a new Windows build that should increase the number of machines that can run it, now only requires OpenGL 3.1 (previously 3.2). No functional changes. I might try and improve on this further.

MonsterParty by 022pedro 2015-08-24T02:28:00

The best title screen! I kept on getting my guesses wrong, and never really worked out why.

Snail Muncher by dustinaux 2015-08-24T02:39:00

Enjoyed the day/night cycle, but boy was it dark in the night!

Run, Monster, Run! by Arcadonauts 2015-08-24T02:32:00

I genuinely had a really great time with this.

Cucumis Love by muit 2015-08-24T02:36:00

I have never been so scared of fruit in a video game.

Woustal by lonkost 2015-08-24T02:21:00

An interesting setup for a parity puzzle, but without a way of changing your characters parity there's not much in the way of puzzle there. Solidly made though, the about page was a nice touch.

You Are Not What You Think You Are by Mister_Melon 2015-08-24T12:18:00

I really loved this. Such a charming way to make so much from so little. Saw the twist coming from a mile off though.

We Missed You! by RHY3756547 2015-08-24T15:35:00

This was really wonderful.

Heroic Journey (LD33) by dethe 2015-08-24T15:04:00

Dead goblins are good goblins.

Slime Saga by Draknek 2015-08-25T08:07:00

I feel sticky.

Curtain Call by rogual 2015-08-24T12:33:00

This is super good, thanks!

Collateral by mklee 2015-08-24T02:16:00

Nice stuff. It felt a little like I was more at the whim of the RNG than my skill, not sure. Some variety in scream sound would be *very* appreciated.

(I think FreeSound samples might be technically outside of compo remit, but *shrug*)

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

PSYCHOTENNIS by pkenney 2015-12-14T18:35:00

I love the punch of the controls. Though I didn't feel *in* control exactly, just trying to return the ball. This is a nice game though.

Cordinatos by PTSnoop 2015-12-30T18:14:00

Very nice prototype of a thing for 2 hours. Would love to see/play an 8hr polished to make it really good version.

Lands of TSR Lore by Christina Antoinette Neofotistou 2016-01-04T11:10:00

Incredibly beautiful, though a little light/frustrating to play.

Neon Junk Collector by Kimau 2015-12-14T18:03:00

I tried the web version, but it was a bit too glitchy to really play with.

Growy the Flowy by Optimus6128 2015-12-30T17:39:00

A very pleasing little experience, thanks :)

The Serpent's Shadow by NuSan 2015-12-30T17:48:00

Pretty interesting thing you have here. I found the puzzle mechanics a bit opaque throughout, not sure why exactly.

Toolip! by davekalina 2015-12-15T14:11:00

Hey, this is really nice.

The Dice Tower of Babylon by Zarkith 2015-12-14T18:22:00

I dig this. I don't have a large stack of friends to play this with right now, but I do have a bunch of d6, so I had a play solo. A circular tower is a satisfying shape to build out of cubes.

I almost wonder if I'd be having even more fun if I'd just been tower building, and not having to do base 6 math too.

Temple of Doom and Friendship by A333 2015-12-14T18:00:00

Nice usage of the grow theme, found the controls, and high difficulty rather frustrating!

Need For Seed: Undergrowth by RhythmLynx 2015-12-30T17:42:00

Nice little thing, the timeouts felt a little harsh.

Santa Rush by Dohxis 2015-12-30T17:52:00

Cute two button controls, but arrgh. The level design is sooooo harsh. Some warm-up please!

Boo's Adventure by JLET 2015-12-14T18:31:00

This is a silly game, and I found it hilarious :)

Got stuck on level 8 though.

Moss Covers Everything by 23 2015-12-15T14:16:00

This is pretty neat. I feel you could have more to use/signal the moss surrounding mechanics, maybe less enemies and more puzzle pieces?

Zunus by Jonathan Whiting 2015-12-15T15:45:00

_stice: It's not, but it does maybe require a not tooo old 3d graphics card. If you can run it from a command line and give me the output I can see if I can figure out what's happening.

MisterAddy: It's certainly possible, but no promises.

Battletoads Origins by J-Nat 2015-12-15T14:44:00

It feels like C + V are the wrong way around?

I dig the island art.

My Dino by Reggianito 2015-12-14T18:10:00

I really dig the graphics, and the play on the two button theme. Found it rather difficult to handle, a bit more warp-up/explanation would have made a world of difference.

Grow Big and Go Home by MikeTsunami 2015-12-15T14:06:00

Very, hard, and the complete reset on death is super harsh.

Some cute ideas though, and the music is nice.

Micros by gkxd 2015-12-14T18:27:00

This was a big download for a LD game! Would have been better to split up the platform builds.

Liked the art, especially the graphics. Gameplay was a little simple, but enjoyable enough.

Crashteroids by Rogod 2015-12-14T18:06:00

Cant run this (naked java) so not rating.

FRUITWOLF by Claw 2015-12-15T12:27:00

Really excellent :D only bad thing was I got a few bits of glitchy behaviour, worst was being unable to throw (I released and the fruit were just dropped) at one point. It only fixed when I died.

The Dungeon Crawler by danblack 2015-12-30T17:37:00

Simple but pleasing sound work, and I dig the mechanic mash. Fun stuff.

Magnetoids by dj_pale 2015-12-15T14:48:00

I like the idea of putting the 'asteroids' back together, but in practice a bit difficult frustrating. Really wanted to fly the ship around a bit too!

LD37 — One room

Rhythm Rink by shillingburg 2016-12-12T23:42:00

This is really lovely. I particularly enjoyed the tutorial.

spring cleaning by 01010111 2016-12-12T19:38:00

This is real cute. Very nice. Only wish it was a bit more challenging to pick stuff up.

The Small Escape by liglet_g 2016-12-12T23:10:00

This is a neat concept :)

My Friend Bubba by TijmenTio 2016-12-12T23:34:00

This is super lovely. Me and Bubba had a blast, but I'm exhausted now.

Walkie Talkie by managore 2016-12-13T10:29:00

The concept is great, but it's the slickness of the platforming that goes with it that really impressed me.

Salvage Star by Hempuli 2016-12-12T23:18:00

Interesting stuff, I found it way too challenging to play around the robot. Just couldn't get on top of it at all. Felt very clumsy.

FACE MAN by Claw 2016-12-13T10:33:00

Yeaaaaaah. This is great!
