Land of the Fishies by EricTheCoolDude 2011-01-11T21:55:00
Hmm, since I made it for the competition in 48 hours I'd say it belongs on here.

Hmm, since I made it for the competition in 48 hours I'd say it belongs on here.
This is really good! I like the minigames and the brutal death animation.
It was pretty boring to be honest. I like the mechanics but it took so long to do anything and the audio made it a bit tedious.
I liked the game! It's fun, I liked the big world and the graphics were decent. However, having such an important mechanic dependent on time instead of the player's control isn't very fun. And it would've been nice to have a little more sound than the single sound effect before the "big jumps".
I like the graphics, however, the inconcistant controls made it pretty frustrating.
I like the graphics! The music is also very good and the game if really satisfying to play.
The concept is original but the iffy physics and animation made the game pretty unsatisfying to play. The choppily-animated hand-drawn characters didn't contrast very nicely with the crude low-res blocks.
The game is really tedious to play, especially since nothing is explained. I'm supposed to give a pot to Miguel, but what pot? I don't see a pot in any of the worlds.
I enjoyed it! It feels a lot like Super Crate Box.
Very fun!
I enjoyed it! It was simple, but fun.
Hmm, I didn't really enjoy it. The jumping was inconsistent which often kept my jumps from registering. Probably should've been a GetButton instead of a GetButtonDown. Aside from that it's very unoptimized and the graphics look pretty bad. And what were you trying to do with the audio? It's annoying.
Sorry man but these platform controls are beyond messed up and make the game very tedious to play. Not very fun at all.
I like the core concept, visually it reminds me of the Funkyboard segments from Rayman 3. The music is fine at first but it quickly gets tiring once you realize the kick-ass drum beat you keep thinking is going to kick in never does.
Very nicely simplified take on the 3D platformer genre. Some things to note, though, are that the camera felt very jerky and some of the coins felt tedious to pick up (maybe their collision box should've been bigger?). The music is fairly generic but it's unobtrusive and works for the purpose. The coin sound is kind of weird.
Hmm, I really enjoyed this at first but it started getting realy frustrating later on when I couldn't tell what the vertical position of the blocks were. I had to stop playing at the "let's take a picture" level because I was getting to angry at the game. That being said the game is very impressive for a Ludum Dare game. The graphics look very nice and polished and the music works for what it is. I'm also very impressed with the amount of mechanics and content you managed to put into the game. The jumping controls got incredibly frustrating at times, though.
@mollymus Yeah, you have to click the top of the trees in the LD version, there was an issue with the colliders for the trunks. I've been working on a post-LD version that should be out soon which fixes that and numerous other issues.
I would play it but trying to run it just brings up a dialog box telling me MSVCP110.dll is missing.
It is a thing of beauty! The gameplay is a bit simple for my tastes but the crazy amount of polish more than makes up for it.
I enjoyed it, it was incredibly short though. The audio was a bit barebones but at least it's not annoying.
Very fun and simple! Nicely done.
