I lived my nightmare, loved it, 10/10.
Really nice job !
Nice game ! An input buffer can give the game a boost in playability. Just record the last pressed key and apply in when entering a new frame. I often miss a tile due to a timing error (since the tiles are big and the snake moves in a continuous manner on a discrete grid)
Ho yeah, I should have said that in the title (I'll do that). The game is not finished. I'll give it a few more hours so that I can really call it a game ! Thanks for the kind comments !
Flies are hard to catch because of a bug I corrected yesterday. Collision boxes where not aligned correctly.
I'll update a version but not now, I'll let people vote on the unfinished version ;)
Hey, nice ! I was testing my game with X and C from the beginning and I did not notice it was the other way around. One more thing to fix ! Thanks a lot !
Hey CrispyOwl ! I had a lot of fun watching your video ! Thanks a lot !
Hey everyone ! Thanks for testing our game. We had a hard time finishing it. It lacks a lot of things, but we may release something with a better finish sometime.
We love hearing about your feelings about it, thanks a lot !
Ho, and we forgot to mention that to move the camera you have to use the arrow keys, but only in full screen if you are using the web app.
Such wow ! Love the Graphics and how everything moves !
You rock !
I approve this game !
Hey @historymaker118 ! Thanks for the feedback !
The floating behavior is "as designed" just to make you feel the floaty environment.
You mentioned problems that I did not have time to address during the 48 hours period of time. However, most of the problems are corrected in the post jam version (http://www.jnat.fr/LD38/PostJam)
You'll notice that the hero character stops when a speech is shown on screen. You can now pick the treasure and give it to the fish and he lets you move off the breathing tube that holds you in a small area of the level. For the jump I decided to skip it to save some time, even if it's peanuts to implement. Also, yeah, no title screen, no music, game content : not so much. I did not manage to hold my horses on design versus implementation.
In fact, as a postmortem, I just lost too much time implementing a dialog system which handles flags and keys to handle the narration/puzzle system. I had a hard time working on it because I went out of my comfort zone by choosing to develop a game in javascript (I am more versed in the c++ / UE4 combo myself). I'll never make another content based game for a ludum dare in the future since it takes me too much time to get the "empty shell" working and doesn't leave me time to actually fill it with something.
For the "art part" I just when with it as I could. It was very relaxing but it's so time consuming. Kudos to the artists out there making awesome graphs for their games in so little time ^^
I am learning everytime I do theses jams, this is a lot of fun.
Thanks a lot!

Very nice game ! Kinda slow in browser however. Good theme interpretation. The sound design and music are very funny !
GG ^^
I love the monsters, idea is nice. It gives some room for new mechanics and refining.
Hi, thanks for the feedback ! I didn't have time for sound and music implementation, I ran into cooking problems and I had to rush technical stuff in order to publish the game on time. As for the hitbox its one of the things I did quickly to focus on other parts of the "game"
Like every jam I participate in I am gonna say "I wish I used my time in a better way" ...
I took some time post jam to put a little FX on the broom https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-NOqcl5WqQ Just for fun.
don't forget to vote tho !

Very nice ! Difficulty comes up front with the first booster that propels you on a wall, very nice of you ! The remaining velocity of the ship gives a good feel of gliding without using ressources and makes you feel in control. Nice sound work.
Very nice game. Very polished for a 3 days game. Amazing work. Some work on hitboxes can improve the feel. There'is something to improve on the defocus the absobing gauge generates when playing. Your attention is always swaping from bullets to the gauge, however, the timing is easy to get after some minutes of playing.
As a flappy bird allergic I could not get to the first lightbulb. I stopped playing immediatly so I could not witness the greatness of the rest of your game, sorry.
Very nice effort on the graphics, music is funny too. I enjoyed the NSFW part too.

Very good choice of graphics and design to make an ambiance. Controls feel good but sometime collisions on the ground impedes the movement. I makes you waste the few seconds you need to get to the end. The start of the second level asks the player too move for too long before getting to the checkpoint.
I loved the can checkpoint. Good theme respect !
Funny game, but way too hard to understand for my poor meat eater brain.
good effort on graphics and sound !
Simple and efficient, very nice ! Needs some more time for interaction polish, some post jam time can give it a boost !
I upgraded everything to max and I wanted more. Simple mechanics, elegant and fun. The die and retry with more abilities is clever. Hiding the gameplay in the main menu is also something smart
Good job !
Nice pew pew game ! controls are hard to get good pacing, I really liked that !
Nice graphics ! But the game is very hard. Adding a glow on the switches when the light is off can hint about their location. It's already hard enough to remember where the pits are.
good overall effort!
