The pixel art style and the sound really fit the game! The controls took some getting used to but otherwise responded like you'd expect from a spaceship. Overal a really nice job!

connor-hagan 2017-07-31 22:12

Really fun game here. I found myself playing quite a few rounds and surviving for quite a while once I figured it out. I'm really a sucker for orbital-based mechanics and thought it was really fun.

vizitas 2017-07-31 22:14

Ok wow where to begin. This game is awesome! Unique and fun gameplay. Simple yet effective graphics. Awesome sound. Very strongly felt the theme. Will be definitely coming back to this one. I would recommend playing this with mouse. I tried playing with xbox one controller and button layout was a bit awkward right trigger to move and right bumper to shoot, can't both move forward and shoot. Besides this small gripe, amazing game!

lawrence 2017-07-31 22:38

Slick! Clean and elegant design, fitting sounds and filled with action. Good job.

pcmaster 2017-08-01 07:15

Awesome! This is the first game I played on LD this year and it's just awesome. I love the clean style, the music, the controls, action, everything! Played this for half an hour instead of going to work, good work! :)

sheepolution 2017-08-01 13:28

Really like the simplistic artstyle. Too bad the game didn't catch my controller for some reason. Controlling it with mouse was a bit wonky. Would've preferred if A moved me to the left, not relative to my ship's angle. That said I really enjoyed this game, and I might replay it again in the future sometime.

kakarotsan 2017-08-01 13:59

Good: * Nice mood * Simple yet effective graphics * I liked the boundary mechanics

To work on: * The controls were very frustrating (I used a controller). I couldn't stay alive for more than 5 seconds

quixx 2017-08-01 20:11

You got me with those particles! This game feels really polished and fun. It's a bit hard to get into it, but I think it's more engaging that way

kdlc 2017-08-01 20:13

this is so good, love the aesthetics!

pacosmartini 2017-08-01 20:16

Man, where do I start! I *really* enjoyed the aesthetics, reminds me of Area Flat(I think that was the name), and I *loved* that game as a kid. Though the mechanics and controls were on a bit of a learning curve for me, I did enjoy the play on the theme and playing around the planets. Sleek, fun and really pleasing to play!

Note: Used keyboard controls

bill-zeng 2017-08-01 20:20

I really liked how this game was faced paced and simplistic. I have always been a sucker for pixel art and you made a good use of that. The only thing, in my opinion, would be to make the controls a bit easier to use. Very fun game!

narudgi 2017-08-01 20:25

Its funny to change the music with the full value, I like this game :D

gamepopper 2017-08-01 20:46

Very fun twin-stick shooter! I liked the simplistic pixel art style and the choice of music. Gameplay was clever but I feel it's a bit too heavy to control. It's difficult to move around and it doesn't help that moving drains your power. Still played through many attempts on this one!

noytroo 2017-08-01 20:58

Gosh, I had a hard time with the controls, but it's fun, really!

Good jobs, nothing to say, the idea is good and well designed ;)

a333 2017-08-01 21:09

Cool graphics, absolutely nice music. Great death handling - allows to learn all the mechanics without being annoying. Well-polished game. Minor nit: some enemies were harder to see because of the darker color.

herniewise 2017-08-01 21:20

Ok, I started shooting like a crazy ass mf and then I realized that this is not the way you play this.

I love this kind of top down asteroids style shooters with a twist. Overall great job.

traincraft 2017-08-01 21:20

Nice art and music. The only thing I don't like is that you (if you play with a controller) that you look with the right stick. It would be better if you use the left stick.

mathiouza 2017-08-01 21:33

Cool game :) It looks really like to an other game on gamejolt, and I think your game is as fun as the other one. Well done, but I do not remember the name of the game x) Cool music and I like the simple graphics. Keep coding :)

j-nat 2017-08-02 08:53

Nice pew pew game ! controls are hard to get good pacing, I really liked that !

whiteninja 2017-08-02 17:16

Awesome game, could use some juicing like screenshakes and bombing effects.

richard-bunn 2017-08-02 20:59

Nice idea to make a shooter using some gravity physics. Would be more enjoyable if the resources didn't drain quite. Pretty simple use of the theme, might be nice to get a recharge from being in a planets orbit - like there's a base that recharges you, but be careful not to crash. God stuff!

littlelegend 2017-08-02 21:05

Awseome game with unique controls :) It is hard, but very enjoyale to play

tomahawk2001913 2017-08-02 21:12

Simple yet fun.

indiemaniac 2017-08-02 22:12

really liked this game although very simple its is simple and well done. i only played about 10 minutes because i dont really like this kind of game but you could improve by adding more simple effects like screenshake and adding some more weight to the wepons. i didnt figure what those orbit where because they didnt seem to suck me in a lot, but the powerups rotated that was nice

very good game

apace 2017-08-02 23:41

Dude, easily one of my favorite games here! Really nice visuals, nice sounds, nice music, everything is just great. Felt really rewarding once you figured out how to move properly (used the Steam Controller). Will be playing this a lot, already added it to my Steam library!

luizdev 2017-08-03 01:53

really good game, it's simple and the controls are hard, loved it, congratulations!

silvae 2017-08-03 02:02

I thought this game was very fun! Loved the music and the art was pretty enjoyable as well. I'm not sure what could be changed but I didn't particularly care for the controls (on controller). As an artifact of this, my optimal strategy was just to stay right next to the earth which is probably a less fun way to play the game. Still overall a great game!

atomicdad 2017-08-03 02:02

Good game. I'm sure it's a little easier with a controller. And maybe it you could withstand a couple hits, it might be more fun. Overall, it's simple and well made. Thanks!

kapricorn-media 2017-08-03 02:07

This is great! I had sooo much fun, definitely a 5/5 in the Fun category. It takes some time to get used to moving around and actually saving your power to pick up the pink power ups. I think it would be better if the weapon powerups weren't random (I think they were random? at some point it downgraded to my starting weapon). I expected the weapon to upgrade, not just to change around randomly. It's also interesting that way I suppose, since you're constantly trying to dodge the white boxes if you get something OP. Or maybe it's an OP / power balance? Very interesting regardless!

Loved the graphics, very clean and to the point, though sometimes it was hard to see the enemy ships. The soundtrack is awesome, though since you opted out of audio I'm guessing you didn't make it. All in all great game!

hippy-dave 2017-08-03 03:09

Tough game! Played for a while and started to get the hang of it tho, my best score is 112,335. Now my hand hurts. BTW I'm definitely on Team Xbox Controller for this one.

This is fun, and I'd probably play it again. Other feedback... It gets a bit frustrating starting so many games where you die before you get the chance to reach a pink box. Quick restarting is appreciated tho and helps soften the blow. I know we're not rating for the music, but given how much I tend to die, I'd suggest not making the music restart when you restart the game.

Nice work!

gamesplusjames 2017-08-03 13:29

Really cool and fun game! The controls were a little awkward at first but if you stick with it for a few lives you start to get the hang of it. It was really challenging but I can definitely see it being a really good high score game. Great job!

offz 2017-08-03 14:06

The game is really fun, looks great and feels good. I love the controls, they really tie into the feel the game's going for. Don't make the song restart, it should just play in the background. Also, I'd love to see a gravitational system so that you could orbit around the planet while shooting. I don't know how that would affect gameplay but it sounds like a fun idea to me. Great work, this is one of the better games I've seen, hope to see you next Ludum Dare!

klianc09 2017-08-03 19:20

Really fun to play. My biggest issue was that there was no feedback when I got hit, at first I was unsure whether I was invincible. Also the controls did not always work like I expected them to work. Using right bumper and trigger at the same time was a problem, so I played with mouse and keyboard. I like how the better weapons, like the automatic shotgun, are as good in killing enemies, as they are in killing yourself (by using up all energy). I think it would make sense to combine the health and weapon pickup, so you refill and extend your max-life and get a new weapon at the same time.

ramkey 2017-08-03 21:07

Very fun game to play when you get used to it. I would recommend you to tweak a bit the controls but everything else is great. Music and the design made me nostalgic and I really loved them!

invixel 2017-08-03 21:10

Fun game, nice graphics, nice sounds. Feedback when you got hit would be very nice. Other than that, GJ!

spetsdod 2017-08-04 00:39

Pretty neat game. Hard to play, as you pointed out. Helpful that you offered more than one way to play (mouse/keyboard, and controller). Sound is good, graphics are very thematic (retro!). Overall a pretty decent game. Similar to mine, although nothing alike. Thanks for the game, I enjoyed it.

terribly-awesome-games 2017-08-04 03:25

I found Power Frenzie to have a steep learning curve, which I still haven't gotten the hang of yet, but nonetheless still really fun. Great music and art as well.

My criticism may be that the max speed your ship quickly goes to seems to be out of scale with the size of the arena. Perhaps this is just because I still haven't gotten the hang of it as I said, but it's an observation.

Really cool game though.

ludic-studios 2017-08-04 10:09

liked the clean art style and the gravity affecting on the ships.controlls are very hard. the hit effects are good. if you keep work on it and make the controlls more easy and less heavy, it woul be great!

w1n5t0n 2017-08-06 04:58

In the 32nd Ludum Dare, I played Microwave Man! This game was just as great!

wowods 2017-08-06 13:47

It's a great "asteroid" game. First time I play it, I though is too hard to control the ship. But the more I play it, I realize I can't be greedy by keep holding down "W" to moving. Just to slightly tap and the ships is under control. Also I like the gravity that affect the bullets. My only problems is there are some enemy that hard to be distinguished with the background color.

Good Job..

oboshape 2017-08-09 18:41

nice one, rock hard but makes you come back for more :)

nuebomundo 2017-08-11 05:44

I really liked the look of the spaceships and the sounds they make, the memories of my first console, an Atari 2600, came flowing down like a lightning bolt, and gave me this warm and fuzzy feeling. You did a great job evoking what made them great in those aspects, intended or not!

The music is pretty good too. But the controls... they are very, very tedious. I couldn't stop dying and dying again and again a few seconds after starting a new round! For me, this didn't allow me to enjoy what, otherwise, could have been a superb game experience. Even after playing for quite a while I couldn't take out more than 13 enemy spaceships, everything seemed out of my control.

I also see problems with how close the refuel zone is to Earth, the fact that touching the Earth kills you, and that she pulls you in when you are inside the refuel zone. The combination sure is deadly, but the loose controls just throw a wrench to the chance of getting used to it and somehow balancing it out yourself. I would either make the radius of the zone larger and nullifying the pulling-in, or making the radius way larger, as well as making the controls more tight and less extreme.

The gravity mechanic has potential, and the possibility of using the Earth and the Moon as shields/tactical locations "with a risk" is very interesting, but overall I see a great need for adjustment to make all elements of the game work as one, and work great.
