Found the premise really funny. Controls are a bit slippery though.

Found the premise really funny. Controls are a bit slippery though.
I liked the 3D world design, collision is a bit iffy though, and the sound effects are too loud.
Really creative use of the 10 second theme! Not to mention a fairly decent Realm of the Mad God style shooter!
The time travel mechanic is very clever, and the platforming is very well put together. I like the gameplay graphics, but the limited field of view made it very obstructing.
Cute graphics, really good timing aspect to it.
Not very good at typing games, but this one I had the most fun with.
Great use of WebGL effects, currently the best use of the 10 second theme so far. I really loved playing this. =D
Good game. Something new and clever. Especially made funnier when the text was self aware about the music.
While it took some time to figure out the controls of the game, I really liked the concept. The graphics and music are really good. Really enjoyed playing this one. :)
Really cute game, neat puzzles and a great use of the theme! Love it!
I think it's safe to say this was originally made with the anticipation that glitches would be the theme? While I haven't found the way to beat the game in ten seconds, I liked the game boy layout and the glitches you can do. :)
Simple and fun puzzle game. Really fast with nice graphics. Music is a little irritating though.
I like the dark atmosphere, and the limited use of the jetpac. Although I didn't realise there was a jump button until later on in my playthrough, and the repeating level can get tiring at times.
Really fun and challenging idea! Not sure how it really fits with the theme since it lasts for more than 10 seconds, but I like the managing aspect of it.
Very fun game! =D
A bit confusing at first, but very strategic kind of game. Really good. :)
This was pretty good, great job! :)
Pretty decent asteroids clone. Brilliant graphics!
Really cool game, I like the idea of one input controlling all characters. :)
This game is really great! I love the sense of exploration, the graphical effects and even the quirky little probe droid sounds. Really enjoyed it!
Brilliant puzzle game, if I didn't have to sleep for work, I'd play this to the end!
Really good fast paced hack 'n slash platformer. Liked the idea of "more you kill, longer you last" sort of aspect to it. Shame the graphics sometimes covered the score and timer, it got irritating not knowing how long I had left. :/
This game was surprisingly funny, Not sure what to do when a patient died though, wasn't if it was serious or intentionally funny. Only issue was having pivoted physics on the syringes made it a pain to move and put together.
Really good platformer. I especially liked the idea of using the failed cubes as building blocks, although it lead me to the issue of running out of time at the wrong spot, ruining my later attempts at trying to beat the first level. :S
Great controls, love the idea and the funny plot.
I love shoot 'em ups and yours was a lot of fun to play. I love the particle effects and the amount of challenge, not too sure on how it fits into the 10 seconds theme but I don't care, I enjoyed this so much! =D
Really enjoyed the "invisible player" mechanic. Gameplay is fun, and the graphics are simple and consistent. Shame about the music, it sounds really good but since it's not in game, I can't say much about it. :/
Gameplay is strangely satisfying.
Really cool isometric game. Love the art style!
Haha! This game is really funny! Great job!
Neat little game, a bit short and the life counter goes into the minus values (not sure if that's a bug or something), but the post compo version did fix a lot of those. Liked the idea.
Neat idea, and really good story telling, but the game is way too short for a cool mechanic as the one you had. :/
I love shmups and boss rushes. I love the reflect mechanic and the 10 second limit gives you a real urgency!
As cool as this mechanic is, there isn't much challenge. I found out you can survive for a really long time by just holding down one of the directional keys, making it fire in all directions.
Really clever idea, couldn't go further than three planets though. Not sure how this ties to the theme though.
Nice straightforward gameplay, with a really well built levelling system. The game is in desperate need of sound though. :/
This is pretty clever, brilliant intro! :)
Despite the only "themed" portion is an over glorified intro, I found it very entertaining. The platformer is really good too so it was worth sitting through!
I like the industrial colour pallete, and the gameplay itself is clever, but very challenging to get used to. The first time I played this I had no idea what the keys did and I just ended up failing all the time.
Very simple and enjoyable. I love the pixel graphics and the funny little bits of text. Only real issue is that the 10 seconds kind of restricts it, it really should be the kind of game where you bounce as high you can. I was also hoping for some obstacles that can get in the way, but since you can't go left or right, it's not really fair to compare it to something like Doodle Jump. Great game!
Loved the horror aspect to the game, and the 10 second air gives a real sense of urgency. Great job! =D
I did like the gun assembly mechanic, but the controls were very off putting. The mouse control is too fast while player movement is very slow. Also couldn't find the target.
I really love the concept and the challenge. This should really be developed further.
I couldn't last for 10 seconds, but I really enjoyed what I saw. The graphics definitely have a Paper Please vibe, and the amount of pressure put onto you makes this game both challenging and addictive. Great job! :D
While not exactly fitting with the jam, the graphics and music are amazingly well done and the gameplay is very straight forward with a bit of strategy added in. Brilliant job!
Really neat idea, though a little bit difficult to get to grips with. Decent graphics though.
Liked the 3D graphics used, and I found the obviously simplified grammar amusing. However in my opinion, using time as a way to connect the theme a weak concept.
Shame you couldn't make this game work on other web browsers. I've given up on Chrome as it keeps freezing on me on certain pages.
This game is visually and thematically stunning, the gameplay is well polished and it has the look and feel of an artistic indie game you would pay money for. Great job!
50.2 seconds. Really good.
Outstanding graphics, simple gameplay with a very subtle message. Great entry. :D
I love the 2D sprites in the 3D environment, brilliant concept. Gameplay was also really fun. Great job!
Really neat idea, although the way to move tiles isn't very clear. If I click on a tile it doesn't select the piece I want to move.
Pretty fun and straightforward, very difficult though. Also liked the graphics and the music. :)
I really like the idea of avoiding the light. Best idea to practice with pixel art though, the character design looks really rushed.
Retro graphics look nice, card battling system is spot on. Cannot hear any music though.
Nifty endless runner we have here. Liked the changing gravity and the retro music.
Never before in Ludum Dare has a game given me the scare. Great job! :D
Love the gameboy style, a very unique game with a clever use of being beneath the surface.
Bit difficult though.
Animation looks good, and I liked the idea of having a spirit to help you out.
I really liked the idea of switching between rooms. Good job!
Neat, very simple and effective. I'm much better at this game than skipping stones though.
Very fun, clever for a simple puzzle game. Really lacking a music, and a title screen.
Sadly text adventures are far beyond me, I wish there were command instructions in a readme file I could refer to.
Well animated, good graphics. Fun simple platformer right here.
Nice use of 2.5D, but I found the game to be a bit buggy, I kept teleporting to random bits of the room and ended up falling off completely.
Definitely liked the use of the water, however the instructions weren't very clear and I kept getting destroyed before I had a chance to attack.
Really fun stealth game, very clever.
Game was fun, liked the puzzle. Performance got a bit laggy when enemies start appearing though.
Clever use of transition between levels, gameplay is smooth but the controls are a bit messy. You cannot jump while moving and using JIKL to shoot is a bit awkward. Also really lacks some music.
Like the designs. Good job!
Like the effects, shame you didn't actually see the outside, missed opportunity for a sudden twist.
Pretty good game, like the art style. Bit easy for me.
Pretty good, although the time limit wasn't clear until it was too late for me. :P
Graphics are a bit blurry, but a pretty good mining game nonetheless.
The core game is pretty neat, but the controls are a bit sensitive. I tried the web version and as soon as I let go of the mouse after moving an orb, the orb flings off to the side.
This is one of the most visually impressive things I've seen so far, but the the gameplay is tame by comparison. :(
Clever idea, bit difficult to understand at first. Very good music choice.
Really fun and colourful. I love shoot 'em ups and this has got to be one of the funniest premises for one.
This is fun on a technical level, as well as how it's true to real life in how you can try to accomplish all goals but they all come at costs and challenges. Shame it's not as eye catching as previous submissions.
Brilliant entry, great quality game. Only issue is with balance and control in the web version. You cannot control how much produce each of the rooms had, so I had loads of people wanting the Cocaine but storage rooms filled with the Hash because the one hash room was producing way too much.
Don't give up from this. A lot of people in the comments has made it clear that learning a framework in a short amount of time isn't easy, use some time before LD30 to get a better understanding of Phaser and you'll do great. :)
Really nice Endless runner, I like the two layer aspect of it. Really needs a score instead of levels though.
Nice pixel art, neat and simple idea. Music could've hand a bit more work.
Are there any before and after photos? I'd say that's what this restoration project is lacking...
Really fun game, looks really complete. Man that Unicycle is really hard to control.
Really good graphics and music, gameplay felt a bit easy but straightforward to pick up.
Pretty good game, controls are a bit floaty but I definitely like the art style.
Music and graphics were really nice, like a colourful version of Asteroids. Nice concept as well.
This game is so much fun, the graphics look really sharp and colourful. Only real criticism is the lack of consistency between audio (both in volume and style).
Hilarious! Lot of areas for strategy and a wonderfully grim sense of humour.
Brilliant and really creative concept! Unbelievable that I have never seen this idea for a game before. Couldn't hear any audio though, did the game have audio?
Really good story, I enjoyed figuring out the puzzles.
Neat puzzle game! I did get glitched into the blocks though and couldn't get out. Still fun idea that should get a lot of polish.
Definitely a good game to play at a social event. Animations look so sleek and smooth. Controls are solid as well!
Great platformer, just needs some music, animations and more levels and this would be a full game!
Oh god those graphics look amazing!
Nice dragon enemy! This was really fun and simple. :)
Really good, has that Papers Please feel to it for some reason. Some of the options didn't really seem to make sense though.
Neat game. Still struggling to get all the letters. >.<
I love Robotron! Your version is awesome!
Really nice use of the theme. Only issue is that the dungeon generation seems to trap you into unreachable areas. I've tried five times and have been unable to explore the whole map.
Very neat idea, very straight forward game. The game is a bit easy however, the difficulty curve seems to go up very slowly.
Probably the most creative use of theme I've ever seen in a Ludum Dare game, the whole thing looks really deep.
Graphics look great, crane mechanic works really well. Should have music in it.
The game feels very slow, the idea itself is clever but the lack of music and interactive makes the game loose its appeal after a while.
The idea that it works in real time is really clever though.
Dropbox says the link is broken. :/
Gameplay isn't really made clear. The attack doesn't work and I got a few comments from friends overlooking mistaking the hammer for something much more private...
Man this game is fun!
That was fun, shame I cannot properly rate it. :/
Really nice game, felt bad that I couldn't take care of John very well. :(
Really good implementation of combining sliding puzzle with side scrolling platforming. Music did feel noticeably repetitive.
Good effort
This game looks great! I really need to get better at RTS games.
Really fun idea, found killing office workers and taking over their bodies quite challenging. I wish the aiming was done with the mouse instead of the player's rotation, that would make controlling and moving much more easier to manage.
Also did reach a point where I couldn't continue, and one of the enemies just froze in place with no collision.
Like the music and the co-op!
Fun use of the webcam. Great job. :)
Simple yet really addictive game, graphics are very effective in a minimal style and the music is so damn catchy! Would probably like some sort of visual effects like flashes and screen shaking to effect reach with game play.
Brilliant twin stick shooter with an awesome style! Brings me back to when I was little, playing Pokemon and other titles on my own purple Gameboy Color!
Really good game, great graphics and well built multiplayer. Having the fire as well as your weapon added a good amount of strategy towards the game. :)
Simple but very funny, nicely done.
Really innovative and fun game!
To answer the question you gave on my game, I composed the music in LMMS along with the Nintendo VST plugin. :)
God that was funny, seeing everything fly around because of your actions. Brilliant stuff. :D
Really good puzzle game. :D
Pretty good background!
Love the rendition of Give Back Life to Music from Daft Punk, hearing that made the game 10x better! :D
Brilliantly designed puzzle game, I could see this game really going far with multiple levels and touch input! Bring this game to the phones!
Looks like it would work well as a VR demonstration, should look at getting Oculus Rift support if you haven't already.
Wasn't really sure what to do but it did a really good job with my speakers!
Decent Super Meat Boy style platformer. However there are clearly two screens (if you include title screen) in the game. :P
Really fun! Gameplay looks really solid. Falls flat on music though.
Hooray for snowman!! Definitely not so easy on those with vertigo. Definitely liked having to multitask with rebuilding the snowman and dodging everything.
Nice simple adventure game, good job. :)
Really good match-3 game, would definitely work well for touch screens.
Key problems are the bells dropping a bit slow, and there seems to be an issue where there are bells that hang at the top.
Game crashed when trying to add a laser. Shame because the idea is really hilarious.
Really enjoying the music selection. :D
Something about watching this game with the music makes this game hilarious, not sure if that is intentional. Either way it's a brilliantly clever use of the theme and great use of physics.
Game has its charm, graphics definitely could do with some work, and maybe some music. Did find the "pew pew pew" sound effects cute, although a bit simplistic.
Aspect ratio is a bit too wide, I can barely see the screen on kongregate.
Other than that, really fun game!
Fun physics game, really difficult trying to save all the crates. Great job!
Nice use of layering! Pretty good and difficult platformer.
Really clever idea for a maze game!
Very fun to play in multiplayer!
Really enjoyed the jump mechanic in this one, it has a lot of potential and gives the game a lot of strategy. You made really good use of the parallax scrolling on the background too, really adds depth.
The weakest aspect probably has to be the audio, the music is too quiet to be recognisable and doesn't balance well with the sound effects.
Aside from that, great job!
Really good game! Has a similar vibe to Super Hexagon, hope the ports do well (and if you can release it to Windows Phone, please do so I can play it on the go!)
Only gripe is the big blocks, I didn't know you could collide into them like the others. Maybe you could invert its colour to show that it's different so it can tell the player something significant about it.
I had no idea how difficult it is recognizing patterns was until now.
I have to admit I found the music hilarious. Neat game idea as well.
Pretty solid Pinball game, probably not the best idea to use the shift keys for paddles as you get sticky keys.
Really enjoyed that, not sure how the spider could win.
Neat little battle game, really epic music choice. Straightforward and very fun, great job!
This is a really cool game, never found attacking people so much fun!
Really funny game, trying to manage stress levels at work. Audio is brilliant, almost sounds like an actual office.
Rather basic, but very challenging!
Not bad idea, good competitive game. :)
Very good idea, drilling input wasn't working perfectly but still a really challenging game.
Really lovely music and graphics! The some of the platforms are awkwardly placed but it looks like the post jam version fixed a lot of that. Really enjoyed that!
Love vivid neon colours, it's why I used it in my game! Puzzles are great too, using the lasers to power other lasers is really clever!
Managed to get 5200. A really well built twin-stick shooter here. Wish the power ups would revive on this one. This game seriously needs more votes!
Definitely a competitive game, I just need to get a bunch of friends round to enjoy this more!
Graphics are a bit bare, but this is one of the most clever uses of the theme I've seen so far. Not to mention that little snowman is just hilarious when he runs.
Really clever, I like the idea of walking along the walls and ceilings. Dodging the bullets are a bit tricky though, maybe it would be good to have the Kiwi jump larger if you hold the button down.
Very dark and scary. Great graphics for a web game, thanks to Unity.
That was really fun! The sound effects were adorable. :)
I didn't expect the room mechanic to throw me off at every point, really cleverly done. Definitely needs audio!!
I really like the idea of exploring arcade cabinets and playing them like they are there. I hope you build a few more.
I noticed the ball got a bit buggy at times and few off at random speeds on occasions, but still well built.
Brilliantly simple and novel concept, definitely liked the level of micromanagement you have to pull off in the later levels.
Honorary award for catchiest music track in a LD game, this is a very colourful game for such a topical storyline. Music is really catchy and I love the Megaman approach.
Only real complaint is with picking stuff up and throwing it. I got to an impassible point because I was trying to stack up blocks to reach a platform, but they kept merging into each other and I had no way to separate them.
Is it wrong for me to say this would have been awesome in the FlappyJam a few years back?
Joking aside I fell in love with this concept as soon as I saw the screenshots on the Haxe Ludum Dare roundup. Brilliantly challenging with some really good opportunities for strategy. Graphics are small and detailed enough for clarity and look decent, all that's missing is a kickass soundtrack!
Very well polished game. I like the novel puzzle-platforming idea that you have, and it would've been nice to have a bit more variety (I got as far enough to see the same platforms, people and spikes).
There is a really good atmosphere in this game, it's very eerie and the audio static adds a good level of distortion. I wish there was a bit more of a description of what to do.
This is very weird, but satisfying. I recognised that logo from Twitter and had to see what this was about. It's strangely cute and weird...
Really well made point 'n click game!
Extremely simple to pick up and play, brilliant use of perma-death and really cute vampire graphics. Great job!
Reminds me of Lemmings. Could do with more levels and better animation but I did like the designs of the classic horror characters and their unique abilities.
I quite enjoyed that, it's a bit too easy for my taste but being able to club people so hard they go flying is so satisfying!
The graphics and physics are really well done, very well expected of a UE4 project, which makes this all the more impressive if this is your first UE4 project.
I would recommend either moving your camera forward or remove anything of the player that would obstruct it, since it's kind of distracting seeing part of the monsters face while the camera moves. Also see if you can make the rubble not collide with the player, that way it's easier to move around after you break stuff.
I saw this on jacksendary's stream, and I have to agree that this was hilarious, but it's lacking in interactivity. However you guys clearly had too much fun making this and I cannot rate you down because of that.
Neat gameplay mechanic! Not easy to get the large combo though. Nice effects as well.
I really enjoyed the visual art style and the glitchy effects, with clever puzzles!
For a six hour game, you did a pretty cool job! I like the art style and the simplicity of the concept. There are some issues with the grid-based drag and drop but those can be sorted out afterwards. :)
Quite funny point 'n' click detective game, which actually had some pretty good twists. Plus I love the animation
The fighting parts were a bit weak however, you can easily beat all three monsters with just one technique over and over again.
Really good idea that relies a lot on memory than hitting everything. Also really love the ominous music.
I found this really funny, controlling a hoard of zombies is really satisfying!
Brilliant message, and a really well made point-n-click game. Great job!
I love the dialogue and the text options, this is a really neat idea to base the theme on and the design of the monsters are really well made, fitting with the individual characters.
Really clever, I wish I thought of it first. :P
But seriously, this is a really well made game idea, and it's really challenging too. I enjoyed trying to beat the levels, even though I struggled doing so. Great job!
Well made platformer with good user interface. The puzzles were also nicely put together, however I wish the roll function was made a bit more clearer, and it would've been good if there were additional screens to lengthen the gameplay and made escaping a bit more challenging.
Graphics but simplistic but I like the concept, being a keeper of hell and all.
Very well made, love the variety of different stuff you can apply and what effects they can make. You really made getting ready in the morning a real pressuring task.
Definitely like the monster designs. Neat idea.
Brilliant animation, very smooth and quite challenging.
It's a really neat idea, not sure if it's intentional but the movement is really awkward, it seems to resist you at points.
Very nice and simple, the clicking and dragging isn't perfect (on occasions it wouldn't recognise my mouse was up and kept swapping the monsters regardless) and the music is quite monotonous and short, but it's easy to get into and the difficulty curve is smooth and gradual.
That was definitely an interesting experience. You have a lot of scenarios that tested my morality, and now I'm questioning whether it was right to go through them all.
Neat idea, but I would really recommend gamepad support!
Nice idea, playing the ghosts in Pac-man. Very good game!
Really good particle engine, and the silhouette art style!
Very well made, I like the strategy involved in planning how to overwhelm the player ship to make it lose all its lives. I hope you expand this to give some more level and boss varieties, since I managed to beat the player after three rounds and the game just looped around.
The idea that you are literally throwing anything you can find on the good guys is pretty funny. The special weapons are neat and it's really well made.
My only issue is the window size, as it was too high for my monitor.
This game is really weird, but there is something enticing about it. Maybe it's the brilliantly animated geese or the trippy colours when you fail, but this does give a good impression.
I thought this was easy until I realised you actually should be keeping all three plants alive. I love the music and use of wilhelm scream!
The self-awareness is quite fun, and the sprites look nice, but the gameplay is a bit repetitive.
Neat simple game! Really creative method of attacking and jumping!
I've got to admit, I really found the self-awareness and the voice acting hilarious.
Managed to get all endings, although I can only get one achievement (I'm certain the second one is based on the konami code, but I don't know where to enter it).
The timing during the scene is quite a clever way to get different endings, really novel.
I liked the graphics and music, but sadly I cannot rate those. However I do find the upgrades and the different enemy types.
I like the concept, however there is an issue with the lives, as they go into negative. Graphics were pretty good, reminding me of Galaga.
Really like the graphics, the smoke effect is also really neat!
Neat game, I like seeing what the different weapons do.
I like the minimalistic art style, I just wish there was more to do and explore.
Really liked the conversation options, lots of variety. Found quite a few funny lines, great job!
That was pretty good, graphics were decent and the text was fun to read. A bit too easy to make the monster happy while a bit hard to keep him alive from the knights.
I like the amount of morality displayed in this game, the monster is your own ethics...
I really love the art style on this one, the animation is really well made and the colours with the slight dust effect, combined with the eerie music, makes it really dark and unsettling. Brilliant job guys!
The shader effects look great, but I coulddn't tell if I was doing well...
This is ridiculously awesome! The physics, animations and even the looping main music is really fun and silly. My only grip is the controls, I don't think having the trigger buttons control the super jump and the rotation, especially since for me whenever I charge I also rotate at the same time.
Clever concept, I loved the amount of variety in the game. Brilliant graphics too, with really creative monster designs.
Brilliant monitor effects, nice simple game. I like the ability to tweet scores, didn't know you can do that in C#.
Loved the pixel art, it was fun ramming the car into things.
The difficulty on this is insane, even with the shield I always die, but I want to progress even more. Really creative idea, especially with the random palettes you can change between.
Really good looking game, although the combat was a bit lame. The attacks are very short range and are pretty much worthless, since you can easily avoid getting hurt by jumping constantly.
Really adorable monster, best hints ever and a brilliant retro monitor effect. Great game right here!
That was really hardcore! Levels got harder but still managed to beat all three levels! Really fun and good looking game, even on web!
That was pretty fun, liked the effects and it was hilarious seeing the totem poles just shoot up just as you were about to reach the top. Avoiding the thorns is surprisingly tricky but solid gameplay!
Managed to beat every level and man that was a good puzzle game, solid controls and animations. Not sure how you puzzled it off on the Android version but that was a really good game to beat.
The concept is hilarious, and the difficulty is frustrating yet simple. Wish it wasn't so fast near the start. Some nice music as well.
Great game! The mechs look incredible, especially with how they move like a modular war machine! The effects look great as well!
Really like this double hookshot puzzle solving, there are a lot of opportunities for this kind of challenge! Great stuff!
This is insanely clever! There is a surprising amount of creativity from just two buttons and the mechanics of this is really well made. The audio is a bit annoying but that could be from how simple the generation of it is.
Definitely a superb job nonetheless!
That was a really good experience, I'm not sure what was more impressive, the vines with very robust and real looking physics or the background that had a timelapse to imply that much more time had passed than you realise. This was brilliant to play through!
The animation is so smooth it's incredible, and while the lighting and shadows are a bit jittery it works well here. Gameplay is really good, love the challenging platforming although the shooting doesn't work all the time. Brilliant game nonetheless!
Very well built pinball game, and I like to polarizing colour mechanic. Camera is built very well. Sometimes the ball gets stuck into the wall but it only appears temporary. Also probably not a good idea to use Shift Keys for controls unless you want unsuspecting players to get Sticky Key alerts.
However those two results are very minor considering how well built this game is, and the graphics look great as well!
Very intuitive dungeon crawler, reminds me a lot of the Ultima Underworld games. Graphics look superb, great job!
Definitely a good looking spinning vector ship, gives me the thought of a HD remake of the original Elite, using vector graphics to keep the wireframe look.
This would make a really good mobile game, it's short simple and it only needs basic touch controls. Music isn't bad either. Great job on finishing!
Loved the dialogue between the snowmen and the students, gameplay was pretty challenging, although I think there is an input delay on the keyboard.
Great endless runner, I like how you are able to move between floors with the possibility of going through different paths. Animations were really good too!
The game was alright, had some issues with gameplay controllers (I'm using an Xbox 360 controller), such as no analogue stick input and left and right d-pad controls are cleary inverted.
The idea was fun, I can imagine two or three people playing this for a few minutes.
This was really fun, definitely has a great art style that would have made it perfect for GBJam, but really goes with the "Growing" theme here. Controls were a bit confusing at first (I assumed you had to click where you wanted the web to go, not click to start, then move, then click to finish a web).
Really kicking soundtrack as well! :)
Simple and straightforward game, liked the choices and effects, as well as the final results. Audio felt a bit basic. Had fun playing this multiple times though, so you got me there!
Not bad for an endless runner, the music gave it a relaxing tone, and I liked the design of the obstacles as ones you couldn't avoid so easily.
Those deaths were brutal, I think the level starts way too hard with those spikes on the first platform, but the music was nice, graphics were good and the gameplay was solid nonetheless.
Glad to see you managed to submit the game on time! The beard mechanics work really well and looks really funny seeing it in action. Using the beard to solve door puzzles is really clever indeed! Great job!
Great lighting and shadow effects, nice music and great variety of powerups!
I like the concept, especially since you have to wait for the right parts to appear and choose wisely. Couldn't hear any audio so not sure if to really vote in that category.
This is a really beautiful looking and sounding game, if it wasn't for the music and graphics, I would've given up early due to frustration from the controls. Moving the plan up and down is simple enough, but steering is really difficult.
Great job on the art stuff!
Love the bloom. Hitboxes are awkward, as well as the jumping, but not bad.
Gameplay was good, I feel this could be expanded with multiplayer and more advanced AI. Nice music as well!
Simple but a fun auto runner, I like the idea that eating too much can kill you as well as running into spikes, means you have to be careful of how much you collect. Good game! :)
That was quite nice, fairly simple and colourful. There is quite a delay on stopping the rain, which makes timing very irritating, but great job on the particle effects and the artwork.
Really good amount of strategy in here, I like how you can use cards on your enemies to aide you somehow. Really good sprite animations as well! Great job!
Love the use of tank/vehicle controls to set where the plant grows. Game flows really well, very simple but very challenging!
It's quite slow pace, which feels nice. I mostly just planted stuff and wondered for a bit, and harvested what I grew.
Interesting, and very Christmassy!
Very impressive Metroidvania game, loved the art style and the different options. Only real issue was it felt a bit slow, particularly walking. Other than that, great job!
A very interesting concept for a music rhythm game. Honestly I missed the instructions and thought you were supposed to click on the symbols, so that could be some possible touch screen controls.
Could your sprites be any smaller?! :P
Like the concept, and while I find the platforming controls to be a bit unusual, they work really well here! Great job!
Plays pretty well, the collision is precise. Gameplay reminds me of the basis of Bit.Trip Void. Will say that the random placement can make getting some pixels impossible without getting damaged, especially when they overlap (try checking if the random position you place stuff overlaps, and if they do set it to another random position).
Like the idea of multi-tasking between two ships, although it would've been nice if you had a bit more control.
Michael Bay would be proud. :')
Really fun idea, with an overload of firepower. Really fun to play, so great job!
Really like the cutout design of this one, some great animations!
That was pretty good, considering the limits you had with being purely text based. Liked some of the humour as well!
That was pretty fun! Very hard to avoid the rocks while you're swinging, but I liked the challenge and the use of physics. It's a bit too simple to be a Windows only game, would definitely like to see this as a web game.
ha
Really fun! Shame I don't have another person with me to try out for multiplayer, but gameplay is pretty solid.
Pretty straightforward game, liked how objects swirled around you before you ate them. Shame there's no music to go along with this.
Very good endless runner! The second level can be really unforgiving but this was quite fun to play.
Good job on the physics, but you need to add a small random force so the player can start moving and balance right away. Also didn't like how hitting the wall immediately reset your score.
Short but sweet game, definitely like how the game tricks you out with the names on the gemstones being different from the colour.
The water effects and the physics looked cool, plus I liked how it got challenging nearer the end. Quite enjoyed it. :)
Neat idea, definitely makes the game more challenging by restricting your moves to spells. Loved the dialogue as well, funny stuff!
Pretty good platformer, a bit slow for me but the goal was clear and the levels were pretty challenging.
Brilliant Sumo Simulator! Hilarious seeing them fall out the ring and even colliding with the referee! Nice seeing some strategy with side-stepping and collecting food as well.
Felt a bit slow, but I got hang of the game pretty quickly. Shame there is no audio.
Brilliant tribute to Another World, great artstyle and clever strategy to beat the final boss! Great job!
This concept is brilliantly executed! It is both bizarre and fascinating seeing your game window move and shake so smoothly across the screen.
It reminds me a lot of an entry done back in LD31 (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-31/?action=preview&uid=14496), where you had to move the screen along to progress through the platform world. I wasn't sure if you were inspired in anyway by the entry, but I'm confident in saying you improved vastly upon it by having the screen move independently so well.
If you haven't already, maybe you shouldn't have the title logo and other text rapidly flash multiple colours, it's seizure educing. At least slow it down or use colours that blend well with each other.
Aside from that, I like the progressively harder enemies, the amount of bullets increasing and even the player movement.
Pretty good smash bros style fighting game with rock-paper-scissors style strategy.
Had a bit of difficulty hitting my opponents though, I'd usually end up overlapping them and they would pummel me off the arena. Maybe you should add some collision that ensures that fighters cannot overlap.
An excellent entry that combines racing with vertical shoot 'em up! Brilliant work!
Really bizarre visuals, but a really clever use of shaders in a game! :)
I like the different behaviours depending on what animal you transform into, not only ones that chase you but ones that evade you.
Definitely has a Star Fox vibe going for it. Really clever way to shapeshift.
The music and sound effects were pretty loud, as I was playing with headphones on at 50% volume.
Very well polished game, managed to get past 45 gates before game over. I like the monochrome artstyle as well.
Definitely like the simplistic graphics, the physics isn't bad although flicking is a bit tricky with a mouse. Might have done better with a touchscreen.
Brilliant idea, very challenging sort of puzzle game. I gave up at the maze level, have no way how to solve that one.
Didn't really follow the story, but the puzzle solving was really nice, and the music was quite relaxing.
I get the idea, although it feels a bit repetitive and slow after a while. Nice job though.
Definitely has great animation and music. Game is a bit simple but the random shapes and art style definitely look really well done.
Woah this concept is trippy. Extremely clever how you achieved that effect. Annoyingly my mouse pointer wouldn't lock to the screen so controlling the camera felt awkward, but I really enjoyed playing the first few levels!
I love a good neon art style, so kudos to you for that.
However I think the game is a bit unforgiving with getting the pieces through the holes. It feels like you need to be really precise with your position to get through. Combine that with the slow movement and it gets really difficult to get a good score.
I did manage to get far, but it took longer than it should.
Beautiful pixel art, incredibly smooth gameplay and really kicking music. I played using the gamepad and it took me three times to beat that boss (the second time I defeated it just as the time ran out and I died).
My only complaint is that it's a bit irritating that your aim is only limited to forward and up-diagonal, I would have liked it if you could aim directly upwards as well.
Fullscreen didn't work for me, but I think that's an issue with GameMaker.
I didn't realise you could skip the text typing, it really slows the game down which is really difficult since the revolution media increases faster with each day.
Nice idea. I like the unpredictable nature of the levels changing, yet the game is still beatable.
Neat idea. The different forms work really well. To make the game flow a bit smoother, maybe have the ability to change forms while in a form (but still keep the original meter). That way you don't have to wait to swap from one form to another.
Nice puzzle game, really well polished! Great job!
Nice idea, the shapeshifting works really well. Really liked it.
Good concept, would be nice if there was a single player version where you play against AI.
This is a really nice looking game, the way the boards and pieces move in a flowing matter looks really nice. It was also really fun to play so great job!
Great graphics and set up.
This is surprisingly challenging, the concept is really clever and requires a lot of strategy. The graphics look exceptional as well. Great job!
Pretty good action platformer, the bird was difficult to fight with but could fly so there was some balance.
Really good, geometry slicing works really well.
This was quite fun yet really difficult, the ship is turns really quickly so it's easy to crash into the walls. I do like how the ball has no control yet is indestructible while the ship has full control but gets destroyed from one hit, I can see speed run strategies from this kind of game!
Nice simple game, it's a lot more challenging than I initially thought. I definitely like the minimalist graphics and how smooth the gameplay is.
Also brilliant choice of music, that track was amazing and I ended up playing in rhythm the entire time. :D
Brilliant idea, it's incredibly smooth and the slithering adds to the challenge. However there needs to be some sort of countdown period before you start, because some levels do not allow time to prepare.
There also need some require some checkpoints, since you can cheat some levels by holding a direction before it starts, having the snake go all the way round to its tail without having to go around the level.
For what is there, this is a great puzzle game. The camera movement is done perfectly for this kind of game, moving to the right angle so you can clearly see yourself and the oncoming wall.
Would be nice if you could expand on this idea, shame I cannot rate you for any of it because I probably would have given you 3/4 stars for each category.
Considering that you only had 72 hours at best, I can forgive the weak parody of Tim & Eric.
To be honest, for this to work the videos have to be really well made and entertaining, and I found the tutorial segment more entertaining than the main game.
Applause for the effort though, FMV games are not as easy to pull off.
Nice little roguelike game, great job of getting to work with only the mouse! I felt like the whole shapeshifting part of the theme felt more like evolving since you change shape when you gain levels, but it's still a very well polished game, so I cannot argue that.
I voted on your Steam Greenlight page before realising this was a Ludum Dare entry.
I really like the concept, although I think you need to change up your keyboard controls. I'm used to WASD being used to move, so it might be good to have some other keys for transforming/jumping or shooting. Maybe even allow the mouse to shoot/aim as well would be good.
Good luck with the campaign!
Very challenging and very well polished. I like the strategic element of choosing when and where to move to aim and fire at your enemies. Sadly couldn't get very far.
I liked the art style, definitely has some humour to it. But the button combinations you have to press are really awkward since there's no reminder or hint to pull them off unless you went into the tutorial.
Also not sure why, but I couldn't hear any audio.
Nice challenge, but on the many playthroughs I had it started way too difficult. Should probably start with shorter names first with fewer large cases, and progressively go to longer words with more randomized cases.
Nevertheless, it was kind of fun tYPinG liKe tHiS.
Love the music and graphics, reminds me of the classic point 'n click games! Great job!
Great job with the level rotation transition, it's a very nice effect. The controls feel way too slippery and you can easily miss platforms way too easily though.
I never would have thought that shadow puppets would make good visual design in a game, but you found a way!
Platforming was a bit glitchy at time (I did get stuck once on a platform) but you did an amazing job!
Clever puzzle game, nice idea.
Game definitely looks nice, although it's a bit too difficult to get into. No idea why you chose to use the left mouse button to move and the right mouse button to fire, you can get the buttons mixed up easily.
The puzzles are really clever once you understand what to do. It's nice seeing one of these deep games once in a while.
Nice idea, really funny having a wizard in underwear, throwing rocks made out of ducks.
A space sim combined with tetris, I wish I came up with that combination.
It was a bit glitchy (I could move blocks outside of the grid) but I love the concept you did and your approach to it. Great job!
This is excellent! The shapeshifting puzzle pieces really keep you on your toes and makes it just more challenging. The shading on the pieces adds a really nice and subtle 3D effect that really adds some depth to the gameplay. I'm not sure if there is a way to prolong the game, but it'd be great if there was. Excellent job! :D
Quite a challenging game, really like the idea. Clever use of theme as well. Would be nice if there was more music.
Very solid twin-stick shooter, I like the inertia and smooth feel of flying and shooting with the ship.
Really nice graphics to boot as well! Brilliant job!
It's definitely okay, got the basic gist of it. The face on the lamb is a bit creepy though.
Also if you die, you end up stuck underneath the floor.
Pretty good game, the polish definitely makes it worth while. The puzzles were quite clever and I definitely like the size changing mechanic.
Very cute graphics, but the game needs to get progressively harder, either more obstacles or increase the speed.
I really like the aesthetics of this, has the feel of a cardboard cut out diorama. It would have been really nice to hear some celtic music and ocean waves to go along with it.
It would have been nice if there was more of a challenge with fishing, such as moving fish.
Low poly foxes. :3
Nice calm game, wasn't too good with the puzzles but the butterfly mechanic was really good.
Having the level mutate the further you progress is really clever. I love the graphics on the title and game over screen, although I wish it remained that consistent during gameplay.
Gameplay is also pretty solid. Great job!
Very well polished vertical shmup! The particle effects are very smooth and colourful.
Didn't really understand the benefits of the different ship types, there weren't many scenarios I had to shoot downwards and shooting at the sides didn't have much of an effect.
But as a huge fan of shmups, this was very satisfying. :3
Nice looking maze!
I love some shooters and this is a visually creative one! I love the round shape forming levels and how you can recover from being hit by grabbing the heart.
It would be really cool if the bullets can somehow impact the shape of the level, like if those parts of the walls that come out of the level could be shot to change their direction, or if shooting the wall pushes it outward.
It would also be nice if there was some music, and if the sound effects felt more biological? I mean the theme and environment revolves around molecules and germs, so it feels out of place hearing realistic guns being fired.
That visual effect on the level looks really amazing, makes the game really stand out!
Amazing intro, so the contrast to the gameplay made this unintentionally funny.
Bit of a challenge but a fun idea for a puzzle game. Bit difficult to win.
This was quite relaxing, the questions are good and sum up what my usual job interviews are like (although based around shapeshifting instead). The noises the shapeshifting interviewer makes is quite amusing.
It would be cool if the interviewer could shapeshift into random things on each question, to make the process feel less repetitive.
The graphics are pretty good. I got the hang of the controls quickly and managed to get a good score.
I think it player should be fixed to a grid however, since you need to be in very specific positions in order to get through and you can lose lives by being a few pixels off.
Really innovative! I loved the use of music, definitely made the game feel more pleasant and encouraged progression.
Having the level change on command, and in what looks like randomly designed patterns, is really clever. Plus the isometric view works really well.
I did encounter a few glitches, like the player being randomly warped to an out of bounds area with no way to return to the level, and falling through what was clearly the floor.
Very clever concept, although the game works much better with the tutorial. I like the smooth transitions between shapes and the glowing as well.
I have to admit, I loved the voice acting. It's the right amount of cheese.
As for everything else, the UI is solid and the graphics are alright, but the controls are really slippery. It takes really long to turn and it's difficult to slow down.
It would be great if there was also a single player option as well.
First time I played, I took less than two minutes and only found five items. Second time, I explored a bit more, playing for almost 15 minutes and only found 38. The amount of paths to explore and the way you travel across to find them is incredible.
You provide a lot of platform mechanics and each level has many opportunities to use all of them. My favourite is number 4, where you fly off like a deflated balloon.
The character design is adorable and the music is very lively, it was great listening to all the world tracks.
This is a brilliant mechanic of a game, it's like Portal but third person with two-dimensions! Unfortunately there were a lot of bugs that made it annoying to play, I got stuck on ledges, fell through floors, the player was colliding into walls that were in the other world, among others.
I did manage to pull through and reach what I think in the end (the pie is not a lie). With additional polish this idea would be amazing to expand on!
Managed to get through the first two levels fine, last level was really challenging. Great idea for a puzzle game, and very well made.
Nice music rythem game, unfortunately my keyboard wasn't too responsive so I couldn't get all the notes. Maybe if you could use the mouse button as an alternative input?
I knew that sooner or later I'd find a montage parody themed game. Pretty solid gameplay, simplistic design and pretty fun to play.
Definitely one of the funniest entries I've played, but I don't trust the use of the theme...man.
You managed to create pokemon style pixel art really well!
I like the voxel graphics.
Simple but well executed. Good job on the 2.5D level work!
Great idea, although that background once you play for long enough gets really seizure educing. Would have been good if there were two buttons for changing shapes, instead of one.
Aside from that, really good use of minimalist design and a really fun and simple arcade game.
Great job with the 2D/3D shifting. Sadly the game wasn't performing well on my PC, plus the UI buttons and text didn't align well in window mode (so text especially were going off the right of the screen).
The music was nice but there needs to be a different sound for enemy bullets and player bullets, else it's confusing who is firing and when.
Easy to get into, and a very moderate difficulty curve. The UI in particular looks great. This would definitely work well as a smartphone game, you should try and get some music + sfx and port it to Android and iOS.
Aims are simple, transformation mechanic is straightforward. Good job on the enemy AI.
Managed to get far enough to get one Golden Fold. I definitely like the origami character designs and how each form can be used. Level design looks a bit rushed though.
Great work!
Definitely a bizarre entry, but fun as well. The graphics look pretty good and the challenge of going through the area with the rock-paper-scissors mechanic is quite entertaining. Great job!
Really clever idea, a very good take on the Snake game.
I like the idea of the shapeshifting platforms, plus the additional rotation made this game unintentionally funny.
I saw this being played on Hempuli's stream and after playing it I found it really fun! The animations look really smooth and I like how everything fits together (pun intended :P).
I'm really terrible though, I struggle after three or four goes because of the rotation. It probably would have been manageable if there were only two buttons for rotating pieces (e.g. A+D for rotating left+right) and the direction keys for the shapes.
Definitely one of the funniest entries I've played so far. Gets really difficult to get the poses right, especially since any body part going into the pit is an instant fail.
The robotic voice, combined with the poses and physics made this very entertaining to play through.
Very good graphics, I really liked the use of lighting and destructible walls when you failed. Gameplay was really solid, although I would've liked a button to cycle in reverse to get to some colours a bit quicker. It's also nice to see the game adapt to your ability, slowing down if you keep failing too much. Great job!
If this was intended to be a parody of Super Hexagon, you've done a brilliant job sir. From the microsoft sam voice to the small references this was quite funny. Not only that but it makes a great variation of Pong as well.
Also quite glad you added a vs AI option, something I usually find lacking in multiplayer entries. Excellent job!
Very well polished! The mechanics have a good feel to them!
Nice game that has lots of strategy to it. Definitely enjoyed the music and graphics, great job!
I approve of your use of hand-drawn art, definitely makes it stand out from all the low-res pixel art entries (mine included). Very peaceful and easy to get through. Well done!
Really neat idea, love the level transitions, but it's annoying how you have to go back to the last level you beat, especially considering how difficult the later rooms get.
Really fun game, had difficulties with performing the more advanced tricks but got the hang of it. Love the art style.
Talk about intense. Having two people talk over each other, with the more important person to listen to being partially distorted, really worked well in this. I was actually in a panic when trying to work out which pin to cut or which capacitor to attach a resistor to.
Plus having the solutions be randomized definitely helps with replayability. Brilliant work!
Definitely an endurance test on my hand. Upgrades were fairly easy to obtain until the last one. Stock music can be a bit repetitive, especially since there is a pause in between. Fun nonetheless.
Pretty easy to follow, nice to see some sort of criminal investigation games at one of these. Great work!
Really good plant selling system. Was able to progress nice and smoothly. Found the later plants (like the grenade corns and cherry bombs) quite amusing.
Really nice horizontal shooter! Feels very smooth and reactionary, especially with how the ship moves and firing, not to mention the cooldown feature on the gun itself. Great job!
Very atmospheric, although it's extremely laggy on my computer and the noise effect is really distracting. Despite that, there is something amusing about being able to lift a full bed mattress over your head.
Funny concept, but it took me a while to realise how to use items. You need to explain the controls.
I like the low-poly 3D art style. Very nice concept!
Love the low-poly art style and the controls.
Not a bad entry. I like the graphics and the gameplay was pretty straight forward.
The cockroach sound effect is a bit grating, I would soften the audio and reduce the volume of it.
Also the mouse kept going out of the window and minimizing the game when I shoot, which is bad when running in Windowed mode. I'd suggest looking into ways to lock the mouse inside the window screen.
I love the visuals and how peaceful it feels. It's great how you got VR and hand tracking to work in VR so well, I struggled trying to implement that in 72 hours.
This was fun, a nice little balance. Love the pixel art!
Simple and very relatable, suits the theme very well. Great job!
The puzzles were very well designed, took me a while but managed to solve them all with a bit of thought.
I noticed you said the WebGL version was worse in terms of graphics quality but I felt the graphics looked great.
Music was also very good, very peaceful and doesn't feel repetitive.
Brilliant work!
Great job building a multiplayer game. I like the music and the top-down level visuals.
As if there was any more on-the-nose metaphor the world needed that generals are just big kids playing with toys, this is it. Very fun entry indeed!
Nice shader, and the music is quite fitting. Portals are really good to.
I like the graphics and the puzzle itself, but navigating the room is really awkward. It would be good if there was some simple guide on where to place your mouse in order to do a certain action, or at least a consistent UI to use.
Solving the puzzle was a bit of work, but I managed in the end.
Fun concept, the puzzles are really clever. Music is a bit grating but but the idea is clever and it feels like each level changed the game slightly to find something new.
Great jobs on the graphics, looks like proper shadows. The sound effects made this much funnier. Had some difficulty with the fencing controls though.
Pretty good 3D version of break out, I could see this working well on VR. Would be nice if you were able to move around, not just stand still and move the mouse.
Managed to reach the exit, but not find the letter. Really clever puzzle, took me a while to finish. Great job!
I like the level switching, this was really fun.
It's a good idea, although there isn't anything to give you a hint as to what the correct actions should be. It's mostly guessing.
Incredibly clever take on Breakout, managed to get all the way to level 13. Would be cool to see a full breakout level done in this style.
Nice game. Good shadows too.
This idea is just amazing, I love how each possible character can be used in the level.
I'm a bit lost at what you do in this game. I walk around rooms, somehow clip through them and find a cube.
The textures and shading looks nice though.
Another great entry, very simple and very well polished. Love the graphics and the enemy AI.
Well made, what a messed up psychological experiment. :P
I did have a bug at one point where left clicking had no effect on the buttons, I think it was from spamming the R key to skip the day.
I really like the shader, and the exploration, but the game kept freezing on me. There was also no audio.
Really clever idea, and very challenging. I managed to finish Easy mode in 538 seconds. I found the pig/goblin heads a bit confusing.
Very nice terminal roguelike, functions really well. However I think the time between turns is too long, might be better to speed it up by having all the aliens move all at once, and have the bullets fire one at a time at a faster speed.
The fact you made a full RPG in 72 hours is impressive enough, but this is extremely well polished and contains some clever humour to it as well. Amazing stuff!
Not sure on the goal, I fill up the tables but nothing happens. The pixel art is nice though.
Simple and well built racer, the vehicles are a bit slippery but easy to understand. I like the graphics as well.
Also for some reason my Avast Antivirus thought the executable was suspicious, so I couldn't run the program for a day, it came back fine nonetheless.
Pretty good, but has a few bugs. Namely there is no target graphic so it's hard to tell what you are aiming at with your mouse, and some of the enemies go through the walls, making them impossible to reach or fire at.
Reminds me of Super Crate Box, except this time with a lower difficulty curve and longer playthroughs, so better for me.
Love the pixelised background, gameplay was simple and fun. Only issue I had was with the music, which was very short and noticeably repetitive.
I managed to get to 1 - 2/3 - 0/4.
Very aesthetically pleasing. Love the visuals on this one the most. quite relaxing too.
Simple but nicely done. For some reason the enemies didn't move or shoot so they were easy targets. The music is a bit loud, took me by surprise when I booted the game up.
Really nice grid puzzle game. However I didn't like the music, it was too squeaky and awkwardly pitched.
Also noticed a bug where I push a block, press the opposite direction and the block suddenly jumps to the other side of the player.
I like how the levels are generated, but once you die it's clear how you continue. Also I advise never to use the shift key for button inputs, in case someone has sticky keys on.
I love how fast this game can be, trying to organise all your guests is a nightmare!
Clever idea for a platformer, great job on the level transitions. Took me a moment to realise the level actually wraps around.
Nice choice of music. Nice twin-stick game, although the amount of enemies gets overwhelming very quickly.
Nice take on the theme, love the graphics and peaceful music as as well. Hope you carry on with this!
Great boss battle, love how well the RPG elements are balanced and effective. Graphics look nice and it's quite challenging.
Not a fan of the ESDF control scheme but it was a good idea to allow use of the directional keys.
This game looks great, and the story is simple but it's really sad.
Really clever idea of a auto-runner, I like the challenge of deciding when to change direction and when to jump. The cybernetic pixel art style is a nice touch.
This is a really good attempt at a 3D style beat em up with 2D sprites, I liked how you go between rooms and some of the abilities you unlock.
This game does a really good job at keeping you on edge and suspense. I haven't gotten really good scores but I did enjoy the challenge.
The visuals look great, and the game feels like a classic Wipeout title. Not sure if being able to drive on the walls was intentional but it was fun doing so!
This game has the best level/room transition I've ever seen in a game, even one that has gameboy style retro graphics. It's ingenious!
Really well made game, I could easily see this on Steam. Having destructible platforms was a nice touch.
I think you should be able to pick up nearby weapons, instead of having to point your mouse over them. Also I noticed if you click out of the game window, it pauses, but when you click back in you are stuck moving forward.
This game is insandly fun! While moving the ship can get a bit slippery, having to deal with so many projectiles puts you in a bit of a rush. I do feel like the orbital cannons shouldn't be able to aim directly at you from the side, their design seems to imply that they can only aim in one direction, in front of them. Needless to say the game has a really good difficulty and the leaderboards are a great bonus!
Very hectic defence game. I liked the simplistic colours and the music, as well as the variety of options in to choose from.
Found a bug with the learn page, the text would go too fast if you hold the mouse button down.
This was a fun platformer, and both the sound effects and the happy expression on the player's face makes this game a lot more adorable. The gravity physics also work really well.
The only criticism I can think of is that the transition between levels are too slow.
Pretty good twin-stick shooter, works really well with the mouse.
Call it a hunch, but planetary shooters seem to be a [common type of game](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/little-blast-planet) in this jam. ;)
Kidding aside, I like the graphics and I approve of the warning to tell players where the asteroids are coming from.
Brilliant! Has the similar feel of classic 90s point-n-click adventure games, great job getting multiple endings as well. The music felt a bit short, although it was fitting. Great entry nonetheless!
Nice puzzle game, I especially liked the creative designs of the viruses. I did find a bug where the screen would momentarily freeze when you restart a game, yet the audio keeps playing.
Straightforward and short, really like the ominous soundtrack!
Neat idea, I like how the levels are designed based on the mario's sprite. I also liked the variety of inputs available, I ended up going with WASD with space for jump because I was able to jump and crouch at the same time (something you cannot do with the directional keys). I did get one case where by jumping while crouched I ended up stuck in some of the question mark blocks, but aside from that this was a pretty solid Metroidvania, great job!
Fairly simple but fun little game, I'm not sure if this was intentional but I found clearing blocks was much quicker when going horizontal, I was able to beat the game in 17 seconds at one point! If the world rotation wasn't automatic I bet I could get it down faster. I do agree with @Maldo19 that there should be some sound effects but aside from that, great game!

Also the music was strangley erie and I'm not sure if that was intentioned either.
Really like the graphics and audio, the dark and gloomy aesthetic is surprisingly uncommon in this jam. I did find the colour switching to be a bit frustrating because the order is random, so you either had to guess which door way or wait until the right colour comes available.
Very cute and easy to pick up.
Neat idea, I really liked the art style and setting. I found the controls a bit awkward, since you have to coordinate between X, Space and B instead of Z, X and C which is what I'm more accustomed to.
The narration in this is brilliant, funny and helpful. The game is a simple one, and I did find it clever how you tilt and shake the snow globe around to solve puzzles. There is definitely some good in-humour in this. Great work!
Finally, a version of Super Crate Box that is both fun and fair! In all seriousness, I really like the tiny pixel art and the tight controls. This was really fun to play, great work!
Thank you everyone for your feedback so far. Just thought I'd give my response to some of the feedback given thus far.
1. Having the bullets curve around the planet instead of straight on: Yeah this one is pretty common. I did think about having it this way, but I felt it would be better to do the latter because it made shooting objects in the sky much easier. With enemies on the ground you can walk up to them and fire them easily, but with air based enemies you either have to jump and shoot or go underneath and aim upwards. I can see that not everyone sees this advantage and prefer a more realistic behaviour so worth taking note.
2. Enemies falling right on top of the player: Another common complaint, and I treated it as a bug in the last remaining hours. I attempted to fix it by having enemies drop on the other side of the planet from the player, yet somehow that didn't work. When I tried to fix it post-jam, enemies were STILL dropping onto the player. It's a bit wierd.
3. The game is hard: Yeah that seems to be a recurring issue in all of the games I make. I tried to make sure that the initial planet had as few enemies as possible, which made it possible too reach the first planet with ease, yet I see streams where the player keeps dying. Problem is I feel if I leave too few enemies, the game will get boring quickly since it's designed where you need to last at least 30 seconds on each planet.
4. Why can't I vote on audio: I thought about it, but because the music is procedurally generated, and not exactly what I was intending the music to be, I didn't feel it's worth being rated on it.
Not bad for a concept. Found the sound effects hilarious, but you need a sound effect for when bullets actually hit the zombies because it's really hard to tell if you are hitting a zombie or not, especially since there is a sound effect for when bullets hit stationary objects.
Graphics and song are adorable, very bright and colourful, wish I could sing along to it. Perspective did make it slightly difficult to know where to aim though.
Really like the UI, lots of info provided that is easy to read and moveable. ImGui is a great choice to have!
Once again, Managore has made a game in 48 hours that is incredibly creative from a simple and novel idea. I have yet to get below 40 tiles remaining, so there is probably a lot I'm missing, but from what I've seen so far the mechanics add a lot of strategy, thought and luck, as you lead into end game scenarios. I think the only issue is that if you lead a rabbit to the edge, you are forced to do nothing except waste tiles. Unless there is a way to save yourself, I'd rather the game just end as soon as the rabbit reaches the edge of the playing field.
Nice world managing game with incredibly smooth graphics! The UI is very clear and concise and the game flows smoothly between events! Great work!
Really nice visuals and audio, although I kind of wish there was a bit more interactivity. Still though a great concept for procedural audio!
Really liked the persistant levels. Would be nice if there was a specific goal in mind, with some exclusive reward for those who complete it.
Really solid vertical shooter, seeing the world get smaller and your ship wrapping around blew my mind. Shame there is no audio but I like the graphics (like the parallax stars) and the difficulty. Love a good bullet hell!
Very fitting game, and a very clean low poly art style. Great work!
Pretty neat entry, but it is a little short. It also bothers me that there is no way to dodge the bullets unless you shoot zombies when they are so far away they don't try to run towards you. I still found the graphics to be nice and the concept kind of funny, but I wish there was more than just a few zombies and a UFO.
Cool game, shame there isn't a single player or vs AI option since I cannot really play multiplayer by myself. I do like the design of the game world.
Darn double posting...
Really neat twist on the whole 3D/2D concept, I wasn't really sure how to beat the levels until I realised you could rotate the camera with the mouse and that you are not restricted by angle to where you can flatten the world. It actually makes you think three dimensionally in how to solve a level. Really creative stuff!
Neat little platformer, nice body switching mechanic. Dark opening though...
Really clever game concept, and the bullet trails are incredibly smooth and clean! I did find the puzzles a bit easy because of it being a perfectly round world and the ability to aim straight, so I think a bit of extra challenge could have been added from making the world a bit bumpy, causing bullets to change direction slightly. Also not sure if intentional, but on the last level I noticed I teleported randomly and all bullets I previously fired were spinning inside the planet instead of on the planet's surface.
Pretty solid platform shooter. I found jumping on platforms to be really awkward because they are really small, and you'd hit them when you are underneath. I think it would be good if you can make it possible to jump through the platforms from underneath.
Pretty good twin-stick shooter. I did notice that once you die, the game carries on. Unless I'm missing a restart button there needs to be a game over state of some sort.
Nice adventure game, it has the feeling of a RPG strategy-lite since there is a mix of finding the right path with role-playing, but simple enough for anyone to approach. I also really like how colourful the sprites are.
I did notice a bug where if you lose all your hearts at the same time you level up, you are shown to have full health, but get a game over.
The fact you were able to get a fully functioning CPU in 72 hours is amazing! I'll probably need to do a bit more reading into the assembly language in order to fully beat this game, but from what I can manage this is pretty fun, could make for a good educational tool to teach kids hardcore programming!
Hopefully you can sort out the post-processing so that you don't have to run the game in fullscreen mode.
First of all, excellent soundtrack. It's also good to see a classic roguelike with ASCII visuals make the submissions list this time around! I'm not exactly sure what the purpose of the rocks are, I pick them up and throw them but I'm not able to throw them at monsters and they do not appear to affect the playing field in some way.
Really nice first LD game, I didn't really find any game breaking issues, but aiming felt awkward since the firing direction didn't exactly match the mouse position. I'm not sure if it's because the direction is based on where the mouse is pointing or the camera angle isn't being taken into account, but for this kind of game, the angle should be towards the mouse pointer relative to the player's position.
Really enjoyed this one, would make for a really good competitive party game or something. Great would on getting AI players in there, it's usually the one thing you see lacking in multiplayer gamejam titles.
Pretty good game, I was hoping for something similar to either Arkanoid or Bust-a-Move, where the planets can ricochet, or hitting groups will destroy all of them. There is definitely room for addition. The planets look nice as well.
Really fun and fast paced shooter, love the 1-bit pixel art style. My only gripe is that the difficulty spikes way too quickly, partially because you are unable to shoot until you aim and lock on to an enemy ship, and the lock-on area is quite small. Maybe you could start off with a slightly bigger area and then progressively reduce its size as you go down. Still quite fun once you get used to it, tempted to play it multiple times.
Nice boss rush game, I get a turrican vibe from this, in particular with the music. I really like the variety of the bosses and how each stage transitions between one another. It would be nice to be able to multitask, like shooting while in the air or being able to turn and shoot instead of one at a time.
Love the palette used and the ability to pick up almost anything is really fun, although dropping items is a bit irritating since you cannot overlap any of the side walls. I think it could have been avoided by having the collider push away the player/item away from the walls while carrying.
Really like the ominous music and the dark sci-fi atmosphere this game has. The puzzles were really clever, and I liked the mechanic of inspecting and swapping the pieces, although I would have liked for a way to cancel swapping a piece if you accidentally right=click on one of the squares. I wasn't entirely sure of the plot as the telecom messages seem to give mixed messages, but I do approve of the addition of video in this game.
Very nice little physics game that I find unintentionally hilarious. Really difficult but I bet is really rewarding.
Really clever idea for a music game. It would be nice to have a bit more varience of notes, or maybe even have more than one planet? Oh the possibilities!
Really funny idea. Took me a while to find a strategy but I managed to be able to beat the doctor without losing any health. Great stuff!
Really fun planetary platform game! I really like how it's more than just jumping from one planet to another, but the planets can have their own movement patterns that you need to work with in order to progress and not hit the spikes. Also liked the cute little ending at the end.
Couldn't load web version because of too much memory required, you need to allocate more memory to the game for it to run. The windows build works fine though. I like the look of the 3D models and the levels of difficulty to choose from.
Really nice and simplistic. The buttons are really tiny and precise, so I wonder if the game would be better if the screensize was a bit bigger.
I'm impressed by the amount of depth this game has, with the amount of features progressively increasing overtime, in particular the game starting to warn you about the lack of resources. I think having some ambient sounds, not specifically music, would really add to the atmosphere of the world.
Really like the ominous music and the really clean low poly art style.
Man your game is difficult! Managed to finish area 1 at least once before running out of fuel. Really like how you used the scanlines and shadow effects.
This is a very adorable concept of a game. It would be nice to have some alternative input options, namely keyboard. I hope there is a happy ending for this couple!
This game is surprisingly difficult, there are a lot of bullets on the screen and not much chance to block them. I do like the simple art style. Also I would have preferred using a key to repair a missile launcher instead of left-click.
Nice defence style game, I originally had the game running on High graphics mode and it laggy, and the controls were really sensitive. setting the graphics to Low did help with performance but I still feel like camera rotation is still too sensitive.
Love the low poly art style, game felt easy to get into and reasonably increased in difficulty over time.
Capture.PNG
I liked the cute artstyle and the progressive challenge of completing each task in a short amount of time. Noticed an issue where overtime the music got progressively slower in tempo and distorted, but aside from that it was a good typing game to play!
Very good game based on a simple concept, did have some difficulty making the people follow the flags, since they wouldn't go towards them if they were too far away and would walk away from them on occasions. Still easy to follow regardless.
Nice shooter, I like the challenge brought with aiming since you are always facing the planet. Since this was an issue repeatedly mentioned for my game, I wonder if it would be good if the bullets curved slightly around the planet, with the amount of curve dependent of how close you are to the planet itself.
Clever puzzle game. Was confused at first because I thought you were meant to link up all tesla coils but figured out how to play rather quickly. The game has a nice quick pace and simple controls. Nice work!
Saw this on GamesPlusJames twitch stream. Really challenging and I like the use of monochrome colours and shading to distinctly show where to go and what to avoid. Shame there isn't a proper ending but this was a fun challenging platformer!
This is incredibly innovated and clever use of the theme, the controls took me a while to get used to but I managed to get through a few of the levels. I can imagine if you wanted some extra difficulty, you can let the player disable audio for even more reduced energy, but make it especially challenging in rooms where sound would be important.
There is definitely a lot of potential with this idea!
The things you can make the President say is pretty funny, I like the variety of options and outcomes as well. Good work!
This is a pretty fun memory game, the last level is especially challenging because you collect the box near the beginning instead of near the end and backtrack. Only issue I could find was the climbing a bit flimsy, as you can fall down immediately after reaching the top of one.
The graphics look really great. I do agree with other people that there should be a way to refuel somehow. I also think there should be a little fish on the end of your line to show that you caught one for effect.
I like the graphics and the shading, although it's a shame how short the game is with little to do.
Neat idea and solid autorunner, I like how there are multiple ways of regaining energy during a run. My best was 268m so not too bad. Pretty good pixel art as well!
@g-o in my defense, I was trying to use Usain Bolt's speed, ~45km/h as a reference of fastest possible speed. My calculations actually makes it go over that. (the fastest I could get was ~55km/h!)
@seanw You can press T to change the distance from miles to metres. Maybe in a future release I can also convert the speed from km/h to mph.
A really good minimalist concept. I like how smooth the rotations are and how everything fits to the beat, I enjoyed seeing which directions made what sound. Very good music and instrument samples indeed. Great work!
Really like the look of this one, reminds me of Quake graphics mixed with the red hellish design of Doom.
I saw this game being played on a Twitch stream and I have to say it's really fun! I love the design of the dog and the power management handles really well. The physics can make switching batteries a bit awkward but nothing game-breaking. Really fun, great work!
The graphics look really nice as well as the music and voice acting. Controls are clear and I like how straightforward the spell system is. Not to mention I like how the initial spell will always home in on the nearest enemy, it helps makes combat easy to get into for first timers.
The weapon management works really well, and I like both the art design and the music. Even the little voice has is quirky. Very fun and fitting game for the theme. Great work!
Love a gameboy visual style! Music was pretty good as well.
Really fun beat 'em up, I think it starts way too difficult though, way too many enemies to begin with. I also found the controls to be a bit awkward, although I'm not used to mixing mouse and keyboard controls in a beat 'em up. Looks really nice and I like the metal soundtrack, it does fit the setting I imagine you were going with.
@filogc How dare you lie about beating my game! :P
Fun and frustrating game. Those popups and messages from your mom are annoying as hell!
Really good Tower Defense game, presentation wise. Not sure if intentional but I did find it funny how the enemy cubes would sometimes flip around when trying to go through stuff or get attacked.
I love the music and visual design, the titlescreen alone looks amazing and feels very creative. Brilliant use of theme by constantly managing your battery consumption between the train and guns. The game uses too much memory for my web browser but this worked great on my PC. Really enjoyed this one, particularly on repeat plays.
"How can I ever repay you?" "By PAYING ME!"
This game is charming and very hilarious! The writing is top notch! The last puzzle took me a while because I didn't inspect the van hard enough, and there are a few bugs with the audio and sprites, but this had a really good story with lots of funny and clever dialogue. Great job!
Good job here, a lot of options and a good amount of writing as well. Would be nice if there was an input to skip text, since it is a bit slow and repetitive. Other than that it's a good narrative that fits with the theme! :)
Difficult yet clever game concept. Did notice the music stop looping after a while.
This game is incredibly creative! Great job getting each letter to interact without any issues with the world, I can imagine there are many different solutions to each of the rooms, different from the ones I used. I kind of wish the full keyboard would be supported (so numbers and special characters could be used) but you can go through the game with just the letters just fine. Great job!
I really liked that, especially the use of photos and models for the graphics, you really put a lot of thought into this. It's a shame that some of the later backgrounds had noticeable seams in them. The platforming was pretty good, although I think there is too much of a delay on the double jump, not to mention having the jump button also stop you from moving does kill the momentum, although I don't think it had much of a noticeable effect. The game does have a lot of charm to it, and it would be nice to see this expanded in some way. Great work!
This is honestly one of the most entertaining concepts I've found in this games jam so far. The graphics are bright and colourful and I like the makeshift sound effects, they add to the humour. It's a shame the game takes up so much memory and ages to load, hopefully there are ways to optimize it.
Pretty fun twin-stick shooter! I liked the destruction and the easy controls. I felt the audio was a bit loud though...
Good job for a first submission! Platforming works very well, controls and collision are solid and the BB-8 design is very cute. I would say that there are some areas where you can miss one and are unable to go back to retrieve it. Well done on finishing! :)
Pretty fun game, had quite and simple difficulty curve. Tried restarting once and I couldn't move and no viruses were visible for some reason though.
Tried the first build, plays great! Felt a bit easy since you have plenty of time to run to each checkpoint before running out of time. I really like the blue colour scheme and the particles, and how the world has a nice glow to it.
I really like the particle effects, and the twin-stick controls work very well. You should probably set the window to the right dimensions in the HTML5 link, in case people don't want to run the game at fullscreen.
Works pretty well, controls are straightforward, no way to restart as far as I can tell.
Very fun twin-stick shooter! I liked the simplistic pixel art style and the choice of music. Gameplay was clever but I feel it's a bit too heavy to control. It's difficult to move around and it doesn't help that moving drains your power. Still played through many attempts on this one!
Fun little shooter. For some reason the WebGL build was very slow, so I got the Windows build and while the motion blur was gone the performance was much better. I'm honestly not a fan of the tank controls, it makes the game awkward when aiming. I would suggest having the mouse aim and turn, and let the directional keys move and strafe (with gamepads you use the left and right analog sticks).
Really fun title, did find walking frustrating because you have to have correct timing, and driving the car felt off, but this was a really funny entry.
Fun entries. I like the suspense of picking what to say, although I don't understand how the waiting system work. I definitely enjoyed the music and the fun dialogue though.
Pretty fun game for something done in 2 hours, and particularly challenging too.
This is impressive work, you crazy crazy person. Loads of particles flying everywhere, each game is super simple to play (although the controls aren't clear on some. Also high scores don't save on the web version.
This is a brilliant and creative looking game! I tried out the original version. I love the planet's expression and the slow-motion. The GIF capturing is genius, although I wish it saved into your default pictures folder, or at least there was a way to go directly to the GIF's directory. I noticed the post-jam version took out the collision between planets, which is kind of a shame because I liked that random element in the game.
Very solid and well-polished platform shooter. I can definitely see where the inspirations of both Super Crate Box and Downwell are found. It would be nice if you could jump through some platforms but that's where part of the difficulty lies.
I really liked the minimalist visuals as well as the soothing audio. It makes quite a calming twin-stick shooter.
I love it! If HaxeFlixel made manipulating pixels much easier this would be the kind of thing I would have done this too. I will say that jumping is frustrating, it felt delay and too small so it was hard to tell when to jump over spikes and gaps. I'm used to using a key separate from the directional keys for jumping so moving while jumping is more comfortable for me.
The 3D wireframe visuals look incredible! Definitely love the cyberpunk vibe!
So glad to see a minimalist block with squash and stretch, if you had the block lean when moving side to side it would be perfect. It was simple and challenging, and the physics of the balls added to the randomness of it all. Great work!
Neat idea, the safecracking portion works pretty well, forcing you to be careful while guards are on the prowl. I'm not sure what the disadvantage of carrying more money did though. Didn't feel like you were slowed down or made less stealthy when you had more.
Really fun and challenging platformer, it's nice to see a game that turns a general collectable item into a hazard itself. Would be nice if there was some music but it's understandable if there wasn't any time considering the 48-hour limit. Great work nonetheless!
Permanence with damage on the bullets is a brilliant idea, especially for a twin-stick shooter. I especially like the dither patterns used. The aiming felt a little delayed if you move the mouse around while shooting, it won't shoot exactly where you clicked.
Nice attempt to evolve on the classic Snake formula, although mirror is really difficulty.
Love the smooth dynamic shadows, nice touch. Quite a challenging puzzle game of sorts. Great work.
Thanks for your feedback so far, the HTML5 version has some minor fixes, main one being the timer bugging out after a minute.
Pretty fun entry definitely liked the fake comments and businesses. Shame the audio is broken in the HTML5 version.
I found the game to be incredibly easy, there doesn't appear to be much risk at all since it's easy to pay for medication whenever you get injured, although I say Play -> Russian Roulette to be a bit grim for an early stunt.
Pretty clever idea for a physics game, controls seem straightforward, would be nice if there was a way to speed up the conveyor belt so you could get the item you want quicker. Still a good job gameplay wise!
A really fun and clever shooter, I liked the colour palette chosen as well as the idea of splotches of goo on the screen obscuring details of the level. I only had trouble on the first level because all I was told was to jump but there wasn't any clear hint that there was a rope over the spike pit. Once I got past that most of it was a breeze. Great work!
This is a very nice 2D pixel art platformer, the fox looks very adorable and the environments look really nice. I think the flame mechanic is really clever, as it allows you to choose quickly as to how you should reach the next checkpoint. However, I feel the game is a bit too punishing, once you miss a platform there is no chance to try again so you end up wasting time to try again.
I think if the platforms reappeared after a few seconds, this wouldn't be much of an issue.
A very fun concept, easy to explain and difficulty progression is nice and slow to ease yourself in. The vehicle and city design looks pretty good as well!
Getting QWOP flashbacks here...
The physics work well and I like that you added procedural terrain to make it less predictable, as well as the ability to lengthen or shorten the seat. A minor gripe is that the bar between the seat and the wheel doesn't have any collision with the terrain, so it just clips through.
Fun idea, shame it doesn't support Firefox (I was able to play it on Microsoft Edge). It's pretty challenging to manage the sheep. Good cel-shaded models, nice bouncing sounds and pushing the dragon away everynow and then was kind of funny.
Brilliant pixel art! Love the concept art. One hit kills make the game on normal difficulty really difficult.
Hilarious idea, poor guy in the car. Aiming felt a bit awkward, sometimes I couldn't the bird food I threw kept arching over the bird.
Great job on developing an NES game in two days! It functions really well, I like the transitions between levels and the simple gameplay concept. I couldn't get far though, the second level took many attempts to finish.
Nice take on Breakout! The pixel art looks great and I like the burst mechanic.
Another well written game from you! Really funny even though I'm terrible at it.
Neat concept, I would like to see more powerups of sort. The cyan (freeze) and purple (error) are effective but there is potential for more.
A really fun idea, controls can get used to although I still would have prefered a directional key + ZXC control scheme or gamepad controls. I like the pixel art and the polish on the animations.
Simple but a good concept. Definitely liked the music. It would be nice if there was a more effective visual warning to dodge instead of glowing orbs but good job.
Good music selection, the physics were very strong. Really good asteroids vibe to it.
This is a really adorable take on Snake, with puppies following you. I was hoping the path of the main puppy who drops dog biscuits to be a bit more random, I wasn't sure if it running around the edge of the world for most of my playthrough was intentional.
Loved the pixel art and the cute character designs as well!
Reminds me of Kaboom, except with annoying chickens.
This reminds me of the Game & Watch game Fire. I liked the addition of bouncing high or low and setting the angle.
I love a good scrolling shooter, especially a Christmas themed one! This was fun!
I like the game's visuals as well as the straightforward controls, but the acceleration is way off. The player accelerates violently and takes too long to slow down, the bullets start with zero velocity when they really should start at full speed. It makes moving and shooting really difficult.
Fun idea, I like that you keep your art simple, recognisable and consistent with your work. Would be nice if there was an alternate way to earn money instead of killing bunnies but that's a part of management I guess. Good work!
This game is incredibly adorable with the colourful characters and the squeaky sound effects. Definitely a great job on the visual side of things. I didn't notice the count down at first because it blends in really easily with the bright characters, maybe an outline would make it stand out. It's a very minor issue for such a fun and great looking game.
I love the 80s aesthetic vibe, both the music and the visuals, even with the added grainy visual effects. The puzzles are also pretty clever, although moving the blocks can get awkward depending on the camera angle, maybe having it moved based on dragging the mouse's x or y coordinate would work.
Also, I think there needs to be a separate input between moving your statue and moving the camera.
Not bad for two hours, with more time it would be a feature complete build of Tetris and then add extra time to add a twist to the game.
A really clever game concept, very well polished too. I'm not sure if there is a way to lose, however, the game feels extremely easy to win when playing against a CPU.
Thank you very much to everyone who has voted so far, to answer some specific questions:
@mike-inprinciple Thank you for playing it when I was on your stream, even though you had already played it beforehand. I can see some issues with wall jumping that should need to be fixed, even in the post-jam build.
@aeveis I see what you mean with the walls, I think it would have made more sense to have the walls clamped to the sides, so no matter where you moved they are always in view.
@nam-nguyen The idea was that the more time you spent in a room, the less space you had to work with. Although I did intend for you to use the moving walls to your advantage in some levels.
@mza Just to let you know I did include arrow key controls for post-jam version. :)
Really cool puzzle game! I like the cute pixel art, although the HTML5 version feels slow for some reason, it doesn't go to full speed until a while later.
This game is just cruel, and because it's Tetris it's already an addicting game so this is just a game of being mean. :)
Very nice, and yet a bit morbid, city building game. Not sure what the end goal should be, except building bigger structures that kill the planet. Works well as a game to keep idle.
Aww this game is cute! Very well polished and quite fun!
This is a really good project for such little time. I like the simple visual aesthetic. I think the only issue I could find was that the jump is very floaty. I think for this kind of game the jump needs to be short and quick so the player can quickly jump onto other blocks, it might also be worth getting wall jumping to get over taller columns.
This game is nice and peaceful, I love the sounds of connecting stars.
Well polished game, reminds me of Super Crate Box. Graphics are simple yet distinct and there is a good amount of upgrades.
I like the concept, it's challenging to plan your trajectory towards planets and hope to find fuel and crew members. Would be nice if there were ways to transport without using fuel.
Very eerie experience, definitely like the open world gameplay and simple controls.
This is a really addictive concept and would work really well for a mobile game with a single touch control. I also like the simple colour tones and sound effects. One change I would suggest making is making the rotating arrow and growing slowly, to begin with, and progressively increase the speed when the score increases. That way it gives players time to understand the concept, before it gets harder and harder.
Very nice mechanic, really like the bright pastel colours and simple shapes. Could do with some other visual effects and a lengthier looping soundtrack but this is a fun game, I think it could appeal to youger audiences.
Definitely reminds me of my earliest days on the computers.
This is really fun, I can imagine this working really well on a gamepad or twin-stick arcade controller. Plenty of variety and I like how you use the player to navigate the menus. Great work.
Liked the cel-shaded graphics and the layout of items, making it easy to find where hotdogs, buns and microwaves. I found getting condiments a bit confusing since you have to get them from a separate menu and can only put them on complete hotdogs. I also think it;s funny how you can pick up almost anything including the microwaves.
I was a bit confused with how you were supposed to get the boxes to change colour, and the ability to pick up boxes were a bit hit and miss. Still thought this was a pretty good take on the theme, with a good sense of pressure to process each box.
Wow, this requires some proper multitasking. I really like the pixel art style and the fun challenge in the game. My only issue is that the cannon firing appeared inconsistent, sometimes I could rapid fire and other times it wouldn't fire at all for some reason.
Fun shooter, like the screenshakes and quick bullet firing effects. Had a bit of issue moving. If the player gets next to the wall it gets stuck, and it's very random that you'll get off the wall.
Really fun game! The physics can be a bit difficult to get the hang of but the game is nice and challenging. Love the back story at the beginning and the art style.
This is a fun physics-based game, controls are very simple so it could work for either mouse or touch controls (I'm guessing you designed the game with tablets or mobile devices in mind?). The voice-based sound effects are pretty effective and add a sense of humour to the game.
Having the ability to rotate around the sides of the box is good, but it would also be good if you could also look above and below the box as well. I also wonder if there is a way to avoid junk from overflowing, like maybe allowing the box to be shaken or moved.
The graphics alone caught my eye! This game has the right amount of bloom and the faint, dot-matrix style line effect really adds to the bright retro aesthetic. The gameplay is quite clever, requiring you to fly into the bright orbs to get the spice.
Not sure if the whole spice thing is a Dune reference, but it's a fun concept regardless.
Really fun game, definitely reminds me of the really packed trains in the UK. Definitely like the music and there is a nice glow to the game to give it the feeling of a summer day. However I cannot get past the first level, there's no way to get past the people, and if there are gaps, the crowds don't fill them up. Based on other comments it might be due to the physics of the web version, but I feel the physics should be consistent.
Great job with the grapple hook mechanic, the visual style works well. I do feel the levels get a bit too difficult too quickly though. Great work!
Very interesting little exploration game. Definitely, like the use of the visual effects you put in the game.
Really funny and fitting game! I like the heavy metal music and a mix of 3D world with 2D sprites even with the lighting.
I did find it kind of difficult picking up the sprites however, and the lava particles would obliterate what I was carrying.
Pretty fun satirical text game. Good story and world building!
Some very good voice acting and sprite animations, the concept really fits with the theme. I did have an issue with the first level, I managed to play through fine, although I did get confused near the end of the first level where my last soldier constantly failed to be cured, and all I need to do to finish it was dispose of the body.
Really good sprite art and stealth challenges, I didn't realise that you could hide bodies in rooms until nearer the end of the level.
This looks beautiful and I love the music. The dialogue was sweet as well. The levels got harder quite smoothly and I like the concept of choosing which abilities to sacrifice between each level.
However, I found that Arcas wouldn't land properly at the start, and sometimes the first jump would act fail a double jump deliberately.
What did we do to deserve dogs? I really like the graphics, particularly that text box. It's been a while since I've used HaxeFlixel properly but I'm really impressed with the text animations featured.
This looks very clean and polished, although I find myself getting frustrated at how much the balls bounce off the walls, it feels rather inconsistent.
Capture.PNG
Funny how I ended up with a rating that'll be much higher than for my own game.
This was pretty fun, I like the Trello/Kanban board style user interface, the time management works will and I like how your game dev moves in time with the music. Great work!
My god the physics works so well, and my god it's cruel as well. I love your twisted sense of humour. Couldn't get past level 12, well done!
This was gruesome and yet kinda poetic for a simple concept. Very brutal but has a good tongue-in-cheek message to it. Also some good voice acting as well.
I like how vibrant and smooth it all looks. It's a good puzzle game and I like the execution theme. Great stuff!
I managed to get 11 of the 14 antidotes. Definitely a very well built platformer but I cannot find where the "sacrifice" comes into it unless missing the antidotes counts. Quite a challenging platformer too.
I really like the sporelike sprites, particularly with the rainbow layered effect to tell what part of the arena the players are on.
I think the flat-coloured art style is pretty good, it's easy to grasp micromanager with an appealing art style. I did find myself mixing up the pickup and drop actions, mainly when I want to put rabbits on the altar.
This is a pretty neat way of controlling a three throw, I found it pretty hard to get the timing. I would have liked some better voice-overs and a more interesting background than the generic Unity blue but it's a good concept.
I love a good twin-stick shooter, this one has a great variety of weapons, a cool monitor buldge and chroma aberration effect, the music has a nice catchy charm to it and good job getting a leaderboard running. Also like the addition of sacrificing a body part, which adds a disadvantage to the following levels.
Instead of the standard WASD, you set ESDF. I keep mentally positioning my hand over WASD, so I move left when I'm meant to move right. I think it'd also make it easier to cope if you could pick up weapons and health packs with the right mouse button as an alternative.
This was a really fun shooter, and it looks great but the controls are too of putting for me to play over and over again.
This game looks incredible and has some potential. I'm a sucker for any game with any form of neon-glow as well as space-themed arcade titles and this fit that feel. The gameplay itself has a lot of polish and the 3D graphics look somewhat professional for a weekend project.
However, I wasn't sure how well the game fits with the theme, it seemed to apply it loosely. I'm also not a fan of the tutorial, I'd rather be able to play through an example level that would demonstrate what to do than go through a set of screenshots.
You're getting a high score on theme and innovation for that premise alone, I don't think I've ever seen a game where deleting files helps you progress.
Pretty good story, I liked the setting and how the characters interacted with each other. The twist at the end was also pretty fun.
This game is dark for how colourful and simple the visual style is. I never found a desperate need to sacrifice many grapes apart from the one level where you need to let a bird eat a grape to get past it. The physics work well and I like the hand-painted art style.
Beat the game all the way through! Brilliant concept, I like how cutesy the game looked and the cheesy ending despite how morbid the task was to get through each of the levels. Brilliant sprite art and very well polished mechanics.
I also found a few levels where I didn't need to sacrifice anyone in order to beat, so I assume there are more than one ways to beat some of the levels.
This is a really well made, nearly perfect implementation of Super Hexagon. It plays and performs almost exactly like the original and has some really good music attached to it, although I'm not sure where the theme fits in. It's a shame that you are punished for touching the sides of the walls, something the original doesn't do.
I was brought in on the vector-graphic aesthetic, and the music was very nice. Definitely liked the upgrade system, it makes a nice addition to the asteroids style game.
I did find turning to be a bit slow, and I wasn't able to find an upgrade that could improve the turn speed. I'd also think it would have been better for the asteroids to break apart when shot like in the original game as opposed to losing sides on each shot.
This is an incredibly well polished vertical shmup with a really clever concept. I really like how ammo can be collected from the remains of destroyed games or even from their projectiles. The game did softlock for me though at the end of the second level. I ran out of ammo and the last pinball machine stopped firing bullets and kept following me from a distance away. Hope that gets looked into because I genuinely had fun with this one.
Brilliant and morbidly hilarious idea of attack. I had difficulty getting the coins though, as the jump isn't high enough to reach or even jump on top of the demons most of the time. The blood splattering on the walls of colours blending together for the duration of the game is a clever touch.
Although for some reason there was no audio, I'm not sure if there was meant to be but I couldn't hear anything.
@superpokeunicorn I was running on a Windows 7 machine. The sound works on my Windows 10 machine, plus I just found out about the double jump so I've updated my ratings.
Good ideas in here, I like the Gameboy aesthetic but not a fan of how blurry the pixel art is. Took me a while to realise you can build blocks by pressing both action buttons at once.
@trozen Try downloading it now, I've reuploaded the zip folder and checked it myself.
This was a very fun and straightforward little roguelike, it was easy to pick-up and go and I got pretty far. I also liked how simple the purchase of upgrades were and how obvious the strength of the enemies were. Shame there was no audio to add to the atmosphere but the simple and yet bouncy visuals were a nice touch.
This is like that one mode in the old Burnout games but with sharper pixel art textures, vibrant colours and chiptune. Would have liked it if the cars had better physics, especially if cars and obstacles would still move after contact to cause more damage instead of remaining stationary.
I couldn't start it, immediately came up with an error and outputted an encrypted log, and trying to decrypt the log isn't possible since I don't know what the password is. Shame because this game looks like it would be funny.
@gonutz Okay now you say that, this game just got a bit more interesting. Thanks for filling up my documents folder with thousands of text files. :smirk_cat:
I couldn't get past the first level but I cannot deny how good the mechanic is and how well it fits in with the theme. The pixel art is also very crisp and the music is catchy and fun. Controls are very solid too, I think the time you start off with is a bit unfair for that first level, especially since it takes three shots to kill a single enemy but you only have enough life for two.
This was a really nice 3D platformer, with some good challenges and a great concept that fits with the theme very well. While I would have liked a clearer shadow so I know where I'll land as well as a bit more variety with enemies in combat but the variety in platforming segments, as well as the somewhat randomized soul collecting segments, make up for it. Great work!
This is so frustratingly good, I managed to get beyond the halfway point and still messed up, and kept going for ages. I'm glad there appears to be a little lee-way with when you need to press in order to catch the coin. Also love how deceptively random the height the coin reaches, even if it gets progressively larger the higher you go.
I'm such a sucker for bloom and neon lights so you get bonus points for graphics from me, the music and sound effects are also quite good as they aren't as tiring no matter how long it loops.
I will say though that the game is awfully repetitive, and since there is nothing that could potentially damage your weapons, and no variety in the kinds of enemies you are up against, all you end up doing is upgrading and collecting hearts ad-nausium.
The game could also really benefit from being able to skip scrolling text or speeding up the actual waves at any point in time.
Typing and platforming at the same time is something I never expected would work, but my god this works perfectly. I love how smooth the player character looks and feels, and the platforming works solidly. I found myself being creative by not fully typing out every word so I could use them as platforms.
I also like the shop system, but I never found the powerups entirely useful.
Great job in getting a fully working gameboy game done for the jam! The puzzles were clever and I like the sprite art. It did lock up in the cave on the HTML5 version, the text box moves up, and when a button is pressed it moves down and jitters at the bottom, not sure if that means the end of the game or not.
As a fan of the neon bloom visual aesthetic, you get top marks from me. I'm also a fan of the light but up-beat techno loop and the minimal sound effects. It's also a fairly solid twin-stick shooter with a seamless transition between the game and the power-up selections however there isn't really any variety in the enemies to prevent the gameplay from feeling repetitive.
Since the only enemies fly directly towards you, it lead to my only strategy being to move away and shoot straight as they eventually lead to the direction I wanted, there's nothing encouraging me to approach them or change where I aim appart from their random starting position from outside the screen.
I tried using the gamepad at first but I found shooting at the enemies almost impossible due to their size, but using keyboard and mouse was much easier to handle in this scenario.
Great work overall, there's definitely potential to expand on the game with more enemy types and maybe alternative weapon options.
Oh god this is so silly it's awesome, the puns are so PAYnful. I did find punching awkward and it's hard to tell what your current health is but this was a fun playthrough.
That was fun, a pretty good twin-stick with a medieval element to it. I especially like the lighting and and music.
Fun entry, really good pixel art. I think it would have been better if the spikes didn't instantly kill you, and it was a bit easier to obtain money (like through killing enemies).
A very nice looking shmup, really impressed with the character designs and the colour scheme used. The music was nice and simple but its a shame there is a lack of SFX. The game also does feel a tad slow as well. Great work though.
Love the power up names and the simple design as well as the simplest controls, this could work phenomenally well as a time-wasting mobile game!
Capture.PNG
A very nice looking auto-runner. For some reason, neither the up arrow or W keys work so I just used the mouse. The power-ups and power-downs are neat and I really love those character designs, really nice pixel art.
The pixel art looks amazing and I like the idea of aging as you move or buy stuff. The puzzles were very clever too.
Very funny idea, looking at the player character I easily mistook it as a modern day Abraham Lincoln. What irks me though is that you cannot shoot in all directions, just a limited range to the left and right. I lost a significant amount of health because my gun missed the zombies by being too much above or below the player.
Oh I get the joke! Good start, you definitely have the basics of a platformer working. Hope you keep it up and improve!
That was a pretty good story, and very good artwork as well. Really good twist at the end and really felt for the main character.
Really liked the background effects, a very creative way to visualize flying through a looping enviroment from a first person perspective. Mouse controls worked really well and made flying around shooting asteroids quite thrilling, although music would have improved the feeling.
A pretty decent mouse-controlled shmup with a good amount of challenge, but I don't understand the need of the "Press 10 circles" bit on each upgrade, makes the whole process tedious. Also liked the graphics and music.
I really like the limited ammo concept and the puzzles were definitely well designed. I hope you keep going with this because there is a lot of potential with the concept and the levels are definitely built around them really well.
Pretty decent marble-like physics game. I would have liked more variety with the enviroments, because the terrains felt samey even with the randomly placed obstacles. Did like the power up options though.
Nice puzzle platformer. Didn't realise a proper physics engine was being used until a box ended up being wasted by falling off the switch I placed it on, so might have been better to lock rotations but that's a minor setback.
Nice take on the theme, and it's incredibly rare to see such detailed and well-lit 3D models in a 72-hour jam entry. I didn't find much challenge but I had fun flying around munching on other alien creatures and shooting at them. Great work I'll have to say, will need to play more of this later.
The guillotine is a really clever addition to the snake game I didn't think I'd try, and it's good that some of the levels require you to have it. The only grievance I have is that the movement isn't entirely grid-based, even though it appears to be. I've failed a number of letters because I turned too early and hit a corner instead of turning into an entrance or to the side of one.
A very nice and short adventure game. I really liked the multiple endings and how they leave a permanent effect on your playthrough. Like what @kyavi said, there was an odd clicking sound when I was playing on Firefox but it didn't bother me too much. I did find the grid movement a bit awkward, especially since when I went outside, I didn't realise there was more to explore until I went east on the road, the route appears blocked on the pavement.
Also really liked the digitised photos on cutscenes and the title, they look great at a low resolution. Good job!
This was an incredibly fun and cartoony take on Snake. Loved the overall style and some of the challenges. Found it interesting that the speed areas increased your speed regardless of direction despite what the arrows suggested (they could have slowed you down in the opposite direction).
This game looks great and has an incredible storyline! I especially like the sounds used for the dialogue text and the multitasking element was truly hectic. I'd be interested in seeing what a hard mode would be like.
Fun concept. Definitely liked the addition of the capture photo.
@aeveis The game does have a double jump, admittingly I put that in because some of the random platforms were impossible to reach otherwise. @chainedlupine That's fair, you could also jump with W (or if you had a gamepad the A button) but I can see the spacebar as being more convieniant.
I really love the look of this, you combine low-poly with dithering in a way that is incredibly appealing to nostalgia filled glasses. The controls were rather awkward though, it would have been better to handle turning/aiming with the mouse and having other keys to move.
@chainedlupine Using the mouse to turn left or right is fine, but turning up and down as well. It's moving forward and trying to aim in the same direction that I'm struggling with, I'm using aiming and moving being separate controls.
@chainedlupine I might need to have another go, but yeah moving up and down is difficult with moving and aiming at the same time. It might just be me and trying a flying game with a mouse and keyboard instead of a gamepad.
Brilliant take on Tetris! It takes a while to avoid the aim of clearing lines and strategically place batteries in not only the right location but the right way around. The graphics look really good too! Great work!
I like the visual aesthetic of it, and it controls incredibly smootly, but I would have prefered the obstacles to fade in gradually instead of popping into existence. Great work getting 3D perlin noise implemented.
I love the art style!
I do wish there was a better visual indicator that you are hurting the enemies.
Really liked the minimalism and neon look, and it was a neat addition to include a line to render where you'll end up going once you hit a block.
Good music, a bit difficult to control but my god a bird with a gun was a lot more funnier than I expected!
Nice stuff! The voice over made it funny for me. Movement controls were a bit awkward but once you got a handle of it the rest of the game flows quite nicely.
The sounds are definitely the highlight. The roguelike gameplay feels very basic though, and it's not very easy to regain health.
Definitely looks nice! The gameplay was easy to get into, and I liked the puzzle elements of setting the electricity and making potions (although it took me a while to tell the difference between hemlock and sassaffras). Don't feel it's exactly in the theme of "Keep It Alive" as it feels more like "Bringing to Life", but other than that its solid work!
Not sure if it was already done and I couldn't see it, but I'd recommend having the switch boxes and ingrediants randomized for a bit of challenge. Having the wires change locations or changing the ingrediants around on each stage to give it a bit of challenge and reduce the predictability.
This was definitely enjoyable! It was a nice touch having the main character bounce around, you definitely should have implemented that into the crowd as well.
I did find the setting a bit odd though, if the vending machine and toilets are at the side of the dance hall, why does the DJ need to go out to get drinks and toilet paper for people?
@leokrechmer One question at a time!
Very well polished retro platformer. I liked the changing platform mechanics, as they had to make you think about when you timed your steps. I think the only room I struggled with was the one where you stand on a lowering platform towards four horizontal pillars, it was difficult to position yourself right to avoid being hit and I made the mistake of jumping upon immediately entering it for the first time.
Ended up finishing the game in 528 seconds with 58 deaths, I'd be impressed with what a speedrun of this game would look like.
Good level design, things definitely got interesting when you had more than one person to control. Managed to get through seven of the eight levels.
Interesting control scheme.
This game fits the theme in a pretty morbid yet creative way. Having to carefully read the label under a time limit is particularly challenging, and the later difficulty levels ramp up the challenge by making you remember what you previously fed as well.
I'm not sure what kind of engine you use, but having resolution restrictions and being unable to close the game like @almighty-games pointed out is a big issue.
Very novel concept, especially for a typing game. Took a while to get used to, since you have to factor in for a space on phrases in later levels. Would be neat if there was an endless or random mode, so that the player wouldn't be able to memorise a set of words for a given level.
Took a while but I managed to get A rank on all five levels, I'm guessing there's an S rank if you get all perfects?
The game works really well with custom music, it was very rare that I got misses that I felt should have really been hit on the beat of the music. Also love the bloom and the futristic design. Great work!
Pretty fun and straightforward. Pretty easy to defeat the opponent.
I think the game starts off way too easy, I was progressing through eight levels before I got any worthwhile reward. I never even got to shoot anything, just deflect projectiles in a Breakout fashion. Also the graphics appear to be a bit blurry for some reason.
It looks like the game isn't scaling properly, the entire layout goes off the screen. Good job for 12 hours though!
Solid platformer with a good bit of physics in there. Two things I have is that there should be more of an advantage to keeping both heads alive, and there should be more obstacles that prevent you from staying near the middle.
The game gets much easier when one head dies, and all you do is wait in one spot for the food to fall so you can bounce it into their mouths.
There is a lot of multitasking in this game. Trying to make sure one of the party members didn't get hit with fireballs is hard enough, but three?!
I would have liked a title screen or an in-game description of the controls, it took me a while to adjust after being immediately thrown into the game itself.
This has to be the best looking game I've seen at this Jam so far! The enviroments look incredibly well detailed, and the futuristic set pieces really blend well with the desert.
Biggest gripe however is the controls, for some reason the mouse dragging isn't always responsive, so there were multiple occassions where I died because I was unable to get the wind to blow in the direction I wanted to despite clicking and dragging the mouse multiple times in the direction I wanted to.
I think either clicking from the centre, or for gamepad the analog stick combined with a button press, would have been a much better way to play the game with.
Neat take on the theme. A pretty solid and easy to play memory game with a moody atmosphere.
A pleasent and colourful space game. It's a good touch that you had to constantly conserve and charge the rover, and if you run out of charge you become immobile, it does add to the pressure of constantly keeping your astronaut alive whilst charging up the rocket.
I think there needs to be a rule of if you are making an isometric game, you cannot use the traditional directional keys (Up, Down, Left, Right) because it's confusing to recall which way pressing up or right goes.
Apart from that, it's a fun puzzle game, and I liked the short music loop accompanying it, and the messages on the wall were really funny. You really should have put in checkpoints though.
This game was so challenging it took me 18 deaths just to get a score! The main challenge is actually making sure you land where you're going to be, instead of where you aim.
I don't recall seeing any instructions or controls, so it was by complete guessing that **Left-Click = Teleport** and *Right Click = Lock**. Personally I would have made lock the default.
Otherwise, it's fun in the infuriatingly challenging kind of way!
Capture.PNG
Very nice looking low-poly planet. This is a fairly relaxing game, but it'd be nice if there was more variety. I feel you should reward players for catching asteroids as early as possible somehow.
Love the artwork you've done on this! Incredibly detailed scenes. Brilliant concept too, having to make swift political decisions while maintaining your heartbeat. It definitely helped that the music went in beat to your heartrate, although I feel the music should at least loop instead of abruptly going silent.
This looks like what happens when Limbo is crossed with Thomas was Alone. Great atmosphere and use of sounds. I did have to exploit the death reset in order to get past the spider though, there didn;t seem to be any other way around it.
This is an incredibly clever physics puzzler, there is a lot of open possibilities to solve puzzles. Most of the levels would beeasier to beat if you could set the circles to rotate in the opposite direction.
Aside from that, really like the minimalist design and simple colour choices. This game needs more people playing it!
Wow this one really plays with your head, a brilliant dodge'em up where you control two circles.
This game is brilliantly creative as a physics based game, and it's also incredibly frustrating as a physics based game. I ended up giving up when I got to the area where the controls completely lock up, but the rest of the levels were creative and challenging in a fun way.
What doesn't help is that the game stops updating the mouse position when the mouse is outside the game area. I'd recommend using the gamepad analogue stick as an alternative.
Also that raccoon ball is really adorable!
@mza Thank you! I'll look into the error message, it shouldn't be loading that font anywhere. Also yes, the levels are procedurally generated, I wrote about how I did it [here](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/twist-turn-shoot-burn/making-levels-random-in-the-final-hour).
@nethead Yeah, I've had a couple people notice that. Turns out the Linux build has a curses dependency because I output stuff to the terminals.
@eduardo-yukio You're welcome. Learning basic music theory is a good start. I also learned to play piano when I was in primary school, but most of it is intuition and learning different chord progressions and melodies.
@almost Thanks for playing. Yes, shooting through the tilemap is an intentional strategy, although bullets have a lifetime of three seconds so some may not reach all the way depending on the level.
Fortunately, the other issues you've mentioned have been fixed in the post-jam release.
@marcmagus Someone else said they got it to work by installing libtinfo5, but I've removed the ncurses dependency in the latest postjam build. :)
@omiya-games Yeah, I did consider allowing the player to also aim upwards, but I couldn't quite get aiming right because it always looked like the bullets were moving in the opposite direction of the player as they were moving upwards.
The left/right directions were written with the intent of having the player change to the direction they set, regardless of what orientation they appeared in (so if the player was moving left, and the player pressed right, the player would always change direction to go right). Obviously the implementation I had in the compo was a bit broken in areas because I didn't expect players to constantly hold a single direction. It's been fixed in the post-jam build.
Really not a fan of the music in this one, it doesn't fit the gorgeous visual aesthetic you have going on. I really like the amorpheous level that constantly shifts randomly and the little touches like slowing down the game during near misses.
This game looks adorable, and the way the dragon steers is a considerable challenge. A very smart move by allowing unlimited teleports (although I noticed one tight area where the game will teleport you inside the wall. I was able to get all 14 fireflies, but I'm not sure if there was an end goal after that.
Such a simple yet really clever use of the shadowing effect, very impressive work.
Really liked the look of this one, what with the 2D low-angle presentation that gives it a unique 2.5D look. Sadly it was a too easy and short for my liking, would have been nice if there were more bosses to combat. Also found the analog sticks worked but not the buttons, which is strange.
Not sure what the hell was going on, but this looked great. I'm tempted to share this game with all my friends to see if they can make sense of it.
My god this idea is so funny, it'd be like if MAD magazine tried to make a game. The western theme went really well, and I liked the challenge of capturing the bigger and gold dudes. Took a while to get used to the controls since you have to aim by moving the mouse in the opposite direction to where you want to throw. Really fun work.
Funny concept, bit challenging. A few things: * First playthrough I went up and left, didn't realise for ages that there was a neverending wall of trees. * I feel like you should be able to use the corpses and bullets to detonate mines, and bullets shouldn't be blocked by corpses. * Once the present isn't within the group of elves, it becomes much harder to control. * Game ends with one dwarf remaining, instead of no dwarves.
Nice game with a clean art style, bonus points for including train noises into the music!
Managed to get 28 around seconds as my best time. This was really fun, made funny by witnessing the multi-car pileup on the roundabout whenever you fail. Especially like how everytime you change lanes, the distance to drive requires you to change speed alongside the differing speed of the cars.
Nice approach, but the aiming of the paddle feels awkward, you instinctively point your mouse to where you want the paddle to be, but you also need the mouse pointer to be inside the circle to properly reflect the projectiles.
What doesn't help is that the rate and amount of fire starts off too quickly, so there isn't much time to prepare for what moves to take.
Really funny premise, and a very solid dodge 'em up that's both challenging and forgiving. Great job with the music, it really nailed the hard bass and retro feel. Managed to wipe out 88% of the dinosaurs with 23340kg meteor.
This game looks incredibly well polished, too polished for a compo, and the music really slaps too!
The fact that the music is a retro rendition of "Round The Twist" makes this game way too funny, I'm even from the UK and have never been to Milton Keynes to know if I want to suffer their roundabouts. Still a pretty good timing game, I like the added mechanics of lives, fuel and sanity as well.
When I finished the first day of the compo, I knew that there would be some game that had a programming theme to it, and I'm glad this was the first one I found. The puzzles were pretty creative and while the graphics and audio are primitive, the game controls surprisingly well. I can imagine this game getting speedruns for how straightforward it is.
Also for anyone playing, the directional keys also work, so you don't have to play one-handed with the WASD and E keys. Great work!
This game looks gorgeous, I appreciate the bloom and the futuristic cyber look of it, along with the decent dnb loop. Are the tracks procedurally generated? I noticed car momentarily float around on certain bits, which felt off cause the vehicle looks like it's supposed to remain on the surface.
Only feedback I can really suggest is to improve the menu to make it feel less static, the game supports gamepads except in the menu and it looks like you could breath some life in it by having the camera travel through the course in the background.
This game has the absolute look and feel of a finished Vlambeer game, if that's not the highest possible compliment that can be given on feedback, I don't know what else I can give you.
I was a little unsure of how the game fit in the theme, maybe I'm missing something but I just saw it as a twin-stick parody of Doom.
Geez this was frustrating and fun, the platformer physics felt floaty but worked remarkably well considering the levels were constantly rotating.
The tank controls were a bit slippery but the level design and logic were solid, plus that was a brilliant transition back to the start of the game.
This was a real calm and challenging puzzle game, looks like there are plenty of solutions. It would have been nice if there was an end state though, I wasn't entirely sure the levels looped along with the game.
This game was rather pleasent to play through.
Really like the challenge and minimalist approach, although it was hard to tell if there was wall jumping or not. I also can't help but agree that the screenshaking was a bit much.
Got the general idea after a while, pretty challenging when you have to manage two trains and make sure they don't reach the wrong colour. Good job, with a bit more time this would have looked really nice.
Funny entry, not sure on how it fits the theme aside from working in a repetitive routine? The gameplay had a Paper Please type of feel, but with a lighter sense of humour.
Pretty good on-rails shooter, but the avatar and presentation of the itch.io page gave me a completely different impression of what the game would be.
Nice narrative, apparently it's meant to be horror although I didn't really feel the scary or disturbing elements. The glitchy dream was great though.
Pretty good, quite fun twin-stick shooter and good progression as you get further down, although the music was a bit repetitive. Also didn't realise you had to hold jump to jump to higher platforms.
I think the chromatic aberrationis is a bit too much for such a low-res game (Gameboy Resolution though!), although I'm not sure if it's possible to do it at half-pixels. Good job with a simple concept, the puzzles work really well, hopefully you can expand on it.
This was a wonder to play, my mind was blown when I got to the sixth level where you had to switch loops while the moved and turned, that is really clever.
Music was great, but needs more controls than just firing.
Music was great, but needs more controls than just firing.
I didn't realise how difficult this game would be until I noticed that the car moves with acceleration, the music can be repetitive and the graphics could do with some work but I like the concept and the upgrade system.
Neat idea, I can see this work as a classic arcade title, particularly since precision aiming is required along with being quick. I'd suggest using a key other than shift for speeding up though, should rather avoid sticky keys.
@masaru Vertical line effect?
@masaru Ah, I believe that's just the pixel filtering when rotating the sprite, by default I use nearest neighbour.
@ddrkirbyisq I felt the music I produced was too basic, combined with the generated SFX.
This was pretty calm and relaxing, then the music turned metal.
Very nice game, really like the animation on the fish as well as how the text appears piece by piece. Very touching story as well.
This is difficult to the extreme, especially given there is no consistency with each jump. Just a tap of the direction will set your path in a variety of ways. I got all the way to the tiny platforms 15 minutes in and 150 deaths and even then I was impressed I made it that far what with two wall jumping sections. Great job!
Really enjoyed the challenge with this one, the rope physics were really good as it felt easy to carry momentum between platforms. I can understand why you can't rate audio but it felt odd having zero audio in the game.
Nice simple stacking game. I like how you can vary the strength of your throw by the angle and distance from the cube, although a preview could help. Not sure how it determines whether the landing is good or not, since I had some cubes land safely on the stack but it disappears.
Decent single screen vertical shmup, the random glitched player is a neat idea and I like the different ships (especially the Tetris piece) and how they shoot and move. Great job!
My highscore was 51.9. Love the simple design and the bloom shader, although the ropes are too difficult to handle since they kill a lot of momentum. Only lost one run in all my attempts to the anomaly, most of the time the jumps were too precise to get or the ropes couldn't swing far enough.
Great opening music, a nice tennis style game where the bats randomly disable to keep you on your toes. ALso like the detail where if the can hits between the walls for too long it will change direction to go towards the player to keep the pace up.
This looked really nice, not a surprise given it's Unreal Engine 5. I got Portal vibes while playing, albeit with buttons, jump pads and moving platforms. The walls glitching out at certain angles to hint that you can clip through them was a really clever touch and fitting with the theme. Great work!
Beautifully done! Love to see more historical games like this one.
Great typing game, although it isn't clear that you also need to type spaces in between words, other typing games tend not to require you to press space.
Very Lunar Lander-esque. Resetting is very awkward because the angular velocity doesn't get reset. Gameplay wise it feels very stiff, but the concept is pretty solid.
Neat idea, although I wish you could rotate crates, that could give more options to fit things in place.
Decent flight sim, steering was less straightforward as I thought and it's very easy to go outside the bounds of the world, but it was fun to fly from island to island in an unstable aeroplane!
There needs to be a start screen to avoid jumping right into the game, also as much as I like screenshake and motionblur, this was really heavy on it and it made the game disorientating. Otherwise I like the danger vibe this game has.
If only I can rate this game on humour, because the music and the idea of a chaotic lightsaber is hilarious whether it's intentional or not. Love the bloom/neon glow, and although it's hard to dodge the lightsaber, the levels are short and rewarding enough.
Fun little doging game, although I had a few instances where the potion was purple and not doing anything. Since it also requires quick reaction times, you need the witch to change lanes really quickly, if not instantaneous.
Very well polished dice/card battle RPG, although I'm not very good at them so I'm struggling to get past the second character. Still like the amount of strategy in it, but there is a lot of luck to it too.
Really clever use of the theme, not only with an unstable square to control but the game breaking over time! Great stuff!
Wow, bullet hell and a physics surface! This is a great combo! Also like the low res aesthetic you did.
This was a relaxing game to play, and I love the high definition visuals behind it. Is the recording loop feature desktop only? Would have been cool to see what the gifs looked like.
Interesting idea of a puzzler, having the shelled enemies move base on your current direction adds a good level of challenge. When your instructions described only being able to move forward, I initially assumed the game would play with tank controls (i.e. W to move forward, A/D to rotate). I think the game would function better if the control scheme was like that, because there were times early on where I wasn't sure if I was moving or turning because of the key I pressed, same with having the player rotate as an animation instead of it snapping to the right angle.
Beat the game on Normal Evil Mode with only four deaths! This game was brilliant, the pixel art is clean and yet animations are really smooth, and the visual effects add to the difficulty really well. There are a lot of different curses to choose from, adding to the originality of the gameplay. I think some enemies had too basic of a design, but given the low resolution I'm guessing some limitations had to be considered. Great work!
A clever mix of rock-papers-scissors and match-3. I feel like without any pressure to make a move, the game feels really slow, it'd be nice if perhaps a random move could happen if you take too much time making a decision.

Pretty good minimalist platformer, although I found some areas where you can get stuck and there's no way to restart. (This includes the second level)
Pretty good autorunner, there's enough you need to do and check in order to stay engaging. However I would have liked the controls for balancing, switching, and jumping to be further apart so you're not trying to manage two directional movements on one hand.
Still, I can imagine this working as a mobile game, where you tilt the phone to balance and swipe to switch lanes/jump. Keep up the good work.
Windows Defender says the game application is a trojan threat. :worried:
Okay, so the batch file worked fine. Like the idea, although it was awkward moving and then pressing R to reload. The "bugs" were funny to encounter though!
This was really fun, the rythem fits really well with the golf mechanics. Took me a while to realise I shouldn't always shoot at full power.
This idea is just insane, that's all I can say. It just works.
Fun concept, the staple player character is creative and I like the idea of having a limited amount of jumps you can perform. However, there's not much to do since you get five clips per book or paper you staple and there's 200 clips at the top of the platform, and there's not many places to go.
It's also easy to get stuck on the side of platforms and enemies, not to mention the papers and books can spawn on top of you and it's difficult to get them off.
Looks great, like the Motzart rendition. Gameplay is a bit simple and I'm not sure how you're able to regain your health above 50%.
Where are the links?
Pretty fun concept, I like it. stacking boxes is pretty solid given the physics engine and how easy it is to move and place objects. Saw a power up near the start but couldn't figure out where to go before it ran out and couldn't find it again.
Pretty good visually, although the pacing feels kind of slow. It's also irritating to aim at opposing ships. It's still really fun orbiting around planets.
This also does a really good job at replicating the UI layout of Final Fantasy and of orbital physics.
I liked the cardboard cut-out look of the game but I had a hard time understanding how the controls worked. There isn't a clear indication of what direction you chose or what the goal was. All I gathered was that tiles were sinking, and you needed to set a direction and press the action button to move?
Really fun competitive game and very well polished. Works surprisingly well!
Brilliant idea for a game! It's a shame you can only suggest one word answers, but as is this game is very clever and requires a lot of thought.
This is really impressive! I had no idea you could achieve 3D graphics within HaxeFlixel. The music is also really nice and the game has a bouncy and smooth feel to it. The only gripe I have is that there is very little room to avoid the cop cars. Since I was focused on the arrows, the road, and the rotating overworld, I couldn't look at the mini-map to see what direction each were going in.
I like the booming baseline effects as well as the amount of rave lighting. I kind of wish that the web version was more playable, I tried it on two PCs and two web browsers (Chrome and Firefox) and the tab crashes after the game loads but before the music kicks in.
I also found it frustrating at how easily you can walk into walls, causing you to do a U-turn right into the cops.
A really fun idea, I like the plants having a variety of different bullet patterns to work with. The hand-drawn art and animation work really well with the setting as well. Also, like the music but I can understand why it isn't a voting category.
I found a bug where the seeds you currently have gathered aren't cleared when you restart the game, so you could start a new round with an advantage.
Love the graphics and the visual aesthetic. The platforming is solid and controls are really simple. Really liked the minimap, it was very helpful in preparing for waves. Didn't really find much incentive travelling up the world though. Also for some reason, the audio wasn't playing at all for me.
Clever idea, I like the challenge of controlling two characters at once.
Holy hell! There are so many bullets on the screen that you need to be careful with how often you shoot. Brilliant combination!
Really well-polished music rhythm game! The pixel art looks amazing and I love the palette usage!
This is a brilliant and deceptive combination. This version of Tetris is challenging enough, but with a ball that removes individual pieces, it makes it harder to clear lines. Needing to time exactly when to drop pieces is essential if you don't want the ball stuck.
I also love the visual effects, I'm a huge fan of bloom but I also like the colourisation and wavy effect of the grid in places where blocks used to be.
Brilliant work!
A brilliant mix of a classic arcade space shooter and a strategic grid game with limited actions to take. The simple visuals stand out and fit really well and there is a good level of polish as well.
Love the bloom and the screen shake. I found aiming a bit difficult since clicking is used to both move and aim at the same time, and I found aiming only worked if you are clicking right on the green character.
Fun idea, but agree the control scheme is weird. It probably make more sense if there was controller support.
The perspective switching is really good!
This idea is incredible, and it works really well! I'd love to see what shaders there are to make this game look cool but as is there is a really good concept from two genres! Great work!
A pretty clever way of playing using assembly. It would be nice if there was a way to skip to the end of a line so you could easily change the right side of it without pressing right constantly. Aside from that the puzzles are good and it functions really well.
Pretty good game, controls were easy to follow and the game is quite challenging. Love the bloom.
A really good mix of strategy and action, it was a challenge using the cards at the right time while avoiding the red blocks. I also liked the retro feel the visuals had. Great work.
Very good Gameboy Style platformer, the puzzles for the rooms were clever, I ended up dying a lot to the rats.
This is a very charming and relaxing kind of game. I found the controls very easy to use, would work with a twin-stick controller setup, however, I wasn't sure what the downside was for having one bird's status down to zero. I found the questions both sweet and funny based on the context that they are birds, like how on earth does a bird know what a computer is and why would it need one.
I like the texturing and lighting in the scene, looks almost like an acrylic painting.
Good god that chef is butch...
Good concept, the controls work really well and the graphics look nice. It would be nice if there were some more options, I got as fire as knowing LEFT, RIGHT, JUMP and FIRE. If there was a turn left/right as well as a stop function then the platforming would be more controllable.
This is pretty good! I can see this working well in an educational environment to teach basic English. It would be cool if you had music that would progressively speed up with the multiplier.
Really clever idea! I love the glitch effects in this game and the combination of three games instead of two makes this just as impressive.
