This is fun, i like the concept of taking ships hostage :)

This is fun, i like the concept of taking ships hostage :)
How delightfully weird! And the music is quite catchy, too.
Nice concept!
Nice work dude
Nice game! The flashing images make me twitch:D
Lovely graphics. The jump feels a little uncontrollable to me however.
@LukeRissacher Yeah that was totally the idea - buy items from the shop, etc. Ran out of time for that however.
@caranha Thanks for playing!
I agree with both criticisms. The camera is very lazy, it likely needs tightening a tad to keep track of the player better.
Nice idea! Was loling before I even opened the link. Good job!
Graphics are really nice. I love the music.
Love the sheep. Nice little bizarre adventure!
@devwil As a professional developer I understand the need to make your game as easy as possible for the target audience to play. However, I don't see this event as a marketing exercise - people should be able to make games in whatever form they please.
Nice. Reminded me of Galcon a bit!
Pretty hard game. Liked the visuals, the accuracy penalty when moving was pretty nice too.
It's zombie hurdles :D
That was quite fun for a 7 hour job. Felt the zombie was only making it hard for himself; the townsfolk seemed to just run past the crates!
Enjoyed this. liked the random misbehave actions a lot!
Cool idea. A bit tricky on my laptop's touch pad.
Nice to see a game about a villain which isn't one-dimensional. Like it.
Loved it, kept surprising me. Felt the checkpoints were a little too harsh for me.
Didn't really know what to do in this one. Nice concept though.
Nice idea. Played a bit longer than I thought I had!
Nice concept.
No idea what was going on. Loved every second of it.
A bit confusing at first, but once I found out how to build stuff, it became much more clear. Like it!
Found it difficult to track the movement of the player. A bit sticky too; some smooth movement and I may take another look
Nice job.
Love this game - best one yet! Possibly because i'm such a LOTR fan. Very humorous.
Nice ambience.
Nice concept. Is -6000 a good score? :P
Like it. Pretty challenging.
Interesting idea. Afraid I had no idea what I was doing, however. But that made it somehow appealing...
Love the arcade style you've got going! Also the AI is done quite well. Kept getting surrounded!
Nice idea.
Liked it. very basic but fun! I robbed the puppy :D
MORE CATS
Music was pretty awesome.
Sorry about The OSX issues, guys. I really don't know what is going on with the text, as I have no means to test it (it works fine on windows and Android...)
Simple and fun little game.
Nice concept. Loved rolling the death star at people. I agree the pickups were pretty hard to cach, esp. as Im using a laptop touchpad XD
Ahahahaha that's awesome. Love the VO.
Loved it. No idea what was going on.
Nice concept! Loved it.
Stabby Stabby! I ended up just darting past everything in the end, and it was easier than I thought to do.
Started off a little slow, but ramped up after a while. Like the skill tree implementation.
Hotline miami vibes! Pretty damn hard on a laptop touchpad XD
Nice job. Found the timeout was a little harsh overall for my slow-ass reflexes! :)
Like the VVVVVV-style wall jumping. Also liked the "you don't have hands!" line!
Liked the AI. Found it a little hard to punch the buggers. Awesome!
I can see a lot of love went into this. It's fantastic. Hard to play on a touchpad however.
Wow, quite chaotic! Pretty hard on a laptop touchpad, however.
Liked it.
Nice twist at the end.
Very nice. Quite an ambitious project!
Great idea. Had a lot of fun with this one.
Pretty weird. Sort of game i'd love to play drunk.
I've forgotten to unclude a link to OpenAL. Won't run without.
Added an OpenGL link. Should work correctly now!
Sparkly!
Think it crashed a few rounds in. Big fan of Fire Emblem, so i'm gonna give this a good score :)
Nice spin on a classic. Got screwed by a load of rooks spawning at once :)
Nice!
Finally, a "racing horror" game!
Quite fun. Very hard!
Beautiful artwork. Feel like the bots could have died in a more glamourous way than vanisning.
It's obvious that this is unfinished, but I would love to play a more complete version :)
Love it. REALLY love it.
Works fine for me. Not sure what is going on, but the art is quite good.
Big fan of the thing, so I loved this. Would have liked some closure, even though it's obvious that you want to leave it up to interpretation.
Cool concept. Now I need to re-watch Firefly :(
I agree with Flyinping5, it is a bit jerky.
Web version brings up a context menu on right clicks, at least on firefox.
Love the com guy sound. My only criticism is that the intro is too long the second time I play it - it's the sort of game I'd like to keep retrying, but the length of the intro is a bit of a barrier.
Nice work!
Nice story.
Love the concept.
Dig the mechanics.
Fun dialogue!
Most impressive entry i've seen so far. Gorgeous grahics, controls feel really tight and polished, and LOADS of content! Great work!
Nice art style!
Kick the grannies! So lifelike!
Nice take on the theme!
Made me dizzy. Recommended.
Love the fog effect! Somehow I died for some misunderstood reason after reaching the end of the first area... Otherwise good job!
I feel like it's difficult to gauge the reaction of folk from text alone, especially when they share some lines. Otherwise, graphics are nice, perhaps with a bit of animation you'd really have something special here!
Nice concept.
I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS GOING ON IT'S GLORIOUS
Graphics are great, theme felt a little forced however.
Nice! Saved to my LD party mix.
Confusing. Loved the dog.
Interesting idea.
I love that this town has a "town businessman".
I got lost.
Love the concept and animations. Runs a little poor on my laptop however.
Nice idea! Unfortunately my Laptop runs it poorly :(
Love the graphics. Found the gameplay a bit too straining (I suffer from RSI), but enjoyed the experience.
love love LOVE the art concept! Obvious that a lot of love went into this. After I died I didn't feel like replaying the entire game however.
Love it.
Had fun figuring out what to do. Nice job.
Rotate the owl. Good stuff.
AWESOME
Gonna use this next LD to make 2880 games. Thanks!
Interesting concept, however my puny brain is not up to the task of solving the first stage! :)
Haha. Wow.
lol
Beautiful! Love the death animation. Really fun.
Nice, love the animations. Good job \o/
Nice, gibs are awesome.
Raptor, I love you.
Ready to hit the stock markets, now. Thanks!
Nice idea, interesting take on the theme.
I'm also having issues running this unfortunately, but it looks great!
Here's the most suspicious error in the output:
15/12/2015 14:01:45.358 ERROR ..\..\..\Humangine\src\ShaderManager.cpp:90: Fragment shader failed to compile with the following errors:
ERROR: 0:70: error(#160) Cannot convert from: "4-component vector of vec4" to: "highp float"
Quite a mood. Beautiful. But I am not sure what the thumbs up / down is for...
Nice idea.
Adorable!
Incredible voice acting! Loved it!
Rest of the game could have done with some audio focus. I also found it a bit difficult, and some UI scaling issues were present (windowed at 1080*800). Otherwise, Awesome work guys!
This is what it is all about. Awesome!
These snakes are *so* cute. Love the way they wiggle around, animation is incredible (also seeing the apple in the gullet!). I also love the name. Feel like it could really shine with some audio.
Love it.
Challenging, I find clicky games difficult to play due to wrist pains, but this is pretty cool.
Art reminds me of FFVI?
Really moody. Like it. Don't really think it fits the theme, though?
Nice concept, love the room upgrade animations.
Incredible. This is incredible. Everything from amazing animations, audio, mood, just great. 5* all round!
Could do with some polish, wasn't particularly difficult but it's engaging. Liked the animations.
Really fun, simple yet engaging. Love the audio and aesthetic. As i'm basically staring at the spot where the buttons appear, it would maybe be cool to add something which lets me watch the animations rather than the buttons (different sounds for incoming swipe directions?).
Found the secret! Was it a secret?
Well done, this was awesome.
Really lovely voxelly artstyle. Could do with more variation of enemies (rather than just an increase in size - or does that come later? I only got up to the AK47). Found a tactic to just find an open space at a corner and let rip.
Tricky! Perspective adds a challenge. Like the music.
God I hate networking. I liked this, however.
Loved it.
Yeah, having mouselook always on and using the center of the screen for object picking may have made this a bit easier to control, but I really like the setting, mood and story.
By level 5 I was singing along. Lovely. 5*'s all round!
Love the sfx! And the really really long hand ^.^
Think the follow cam could be tighter. There's clearly a lot of content here, could maybe do with a more gradual introduction of gameplay rather than an info dump at the start.
Nice work though.
Another Ludum Dare voice acting game! There aren't enough people doing voice overs in this compo, I really enjoyed this :)
Brought back some terrible WoW memories. Thanks! Nice concept, got pretty difficult very suddenly!
Nice!
Nice theme, always wondered who cleaned up the rooms when Link leaves them.
You've managed to accurately portray my life. Well done.
Really fun, great style.
Love the graphics, audio and script are great, nice one!
Every now and then kitty randomly jumps and hits the ceiling. Can't tell if This is intentional or not?
A lot of love went into this entry, and i'm giving it a lot of love, too. Love the music, UI, models, level design, and concept!
Man. That gave me chills.
Lovely!
Almost impossible with a rollerball mouse, but gave it my all! Love the art style.
lololol
Really dig it, could use some more variation in the dialogue, as I was seeing repeats very quickly.
lol music is fantastic.
Cool concept, difficulty ramped up fairly unexpectedly!
Camera smoothing made me feel quite nauseous (but I think i'm just extra sensitive to motion sickness). Would have preferred a static anchored camera. Also wasn't particularly challenging (unless i'm missing something?). Like the music!
Nice use of the theme, audio was a bit irritating and I had no idea when I was going to die. Like it though.
Not sure if waking up was just the ending, or I had to input something?
Pretty.
Nice art / audio, I think perhaps there could be some horizontal inertia when changing directions. Otherwise pretty cool.
Fun!
Nice, great theme interpretation, visual and audio design. Really works.
My only gripe really would be the jump action, would be great to have more control over the height (such as a quick tap to hop over a bullet, vs a longer held jump). Otherwise it's awesome, had a lot of fun here.
Pet Asuka for meee
Fantastic, really well put together and love the game! Would be awesome to see a full release. Great use of theme, cool graphics and the mood is real intense.
Love the voices
Got trapped by a chest. Ouch!
Nice job
Wow, fantastic job with the art, great concept. I do agree controls take a little get used to, but once I got that down I was sacrificing everything to my chicken god!!!
Great animations, use of theme and music. It is a bit frustrating occasionally when clicking to attack fails and the pc ends up just standing there. Perhaps some sort of autoattack or some way to dodge rather than just kiting and exploiting the AI would be nice here.
Fantastic, awesome job.
Got stuck in some walls, and the controls make the player character feel like a drunk (unnecessary accel/decel). Nevertheless nice job
I love the starting backdrop, wallpaper worthy! Looks and plays beautifully. Very fun, only criticism would be lack of variety in terms of input, pretty much 1-2-kicking everything is fun and all but it felt like there was little strategy/risk-reward in how to approach fights.
Love pico-8. Looks like you had fun making this.
V cute
I got about 30 days in before I decided to stop, yet something about this makes me want to keep playing it. I adore the UI design, especially the text animations, really well thought out. The random events could use some more content - and perhaps allow all the random events to cycle once before repeating them? I ended up getting the same one multiple times in a row occasionally.
Nice job!
Well, this is a first. I don't think a LD game has ever brought tears to my eyes. Absolutely Beautiful work, on all three fronts. Truly a 5 star experience if there is one.
I don't get the spike trap puzzle. The point is to sacrifice one of the characters, but what does that give you?
Fantastic use of theme, but found it difficult to anticipate rockets, I feel as soon as I see them (with a full screen) it can be impossible to avoid them.
Fantastic interpretation of the theme, love it! G.O.A.T
Neat puzzle game. I can see this extending to have multiplication/division as a more advanced challenge. I can't say I understood the UI layout, but once I played a few rounds I ended up getting the hang of it.
Really compelling, unique and thought provoking. Thank you for sharing.
Nice interpretation of the theme. Cute doug
Movement controls were not functioning (webgl, chrome).
Love pico-8. Nice job
I got 128. Really can't fault it, nice tight controls and focused vision, good use of theme, looks and feels great.
Love Pico-8 games. Audio is great, love the "wrath" effect. And sacrificing the little dog things
Really needs some ambient sounds, crank that suspense up! :)
Nice job.
Nice use of parallax backgrounds, and art in general. Spikes are quite hard to see (took me several attempts before realizing the game was ending because I was touching them).
Nice job, really well put together. It does feel that there is often a lack of choice - either not knowing what axes of the ship are going to be targeted (makes it less of a sacrifice and more of a random detriment) or having obstacles or powerups come up way too fast.
Nevertheless this is one of the most polished games i've seen come out this competition. Nice one.
Weird bug when fullscreen - people seem to get stuck if I move the mouse too fast. More sound + visual feedback would be good improvement.
Art style is cool, looking at your feed you had a blue sky previously. Thought about blending between blue and red to visualise the state a bit better?
Great job, real polished and art style is a treat.
For a first try you guys did good. Hit detection definitely needs improvement!
Nice concept, enjoyed the quotes. And it has an ending!
I don't really know what i'm doing.
Nice art + audio, pretty challenging. Very unique take on the theme!
This is actually incredibly similar to my first Ludum dare entry 8 years ago. High ratings just for that! Nice job
Nice job on the sounds. Simple but focused gameplay + theme.
Nice job!
Cute audio, nice interpretation.
Shame no audio, would really pull this together a lot more. It's not clear from the game mechanics how this meets the theme, there's no real feeling of "sacrifice". Could also use a restart mechanic. Good job!
Yeah, definitely a bit slow. Art style is great though.
Yeah, echo ls and changing drive letters. Nice job though, and great idea.
Agree with consensus above about controls being difficult. Cool use of audio and the backdrop is neat.
Neat
Nice and chill, love it. I agree the audio could be made more subtle and less repetitive.
Cool idea, worth bending the theme for. Love the huge dog hands.
Cool graphics, pretty challenging but a real interesting idea.
I didn't realize I had to "hold" the button down. I love Toxo!
Awesome
Cool!
Nice idea, i'd love to see what this is like with the pathing issues fixed!
Looks juicy, nice job
Neat, cool idea
Nice work
Really cool design!
Neat! Cool art!
neat, lost all 3 rounds first try, then nailed the AI on the second. Wasn't clear that you could block, or what the advantage of high v low or punch v kick. Love the minimalism.
Cool!
Neat!
Nice job, some really slick gameplay here
Neat, a Godot entry! I was almost convinced to use this, perhaps next time :)
Like you audio and gameplay, pretty cool that the corpses stick around and become a bullet soaking hassle. Nice one!
Build size is huge! No way this is 116MB. I'd look into building your game into an python executable rather than with an entire python library.
Very pretty backdrop.
The game softlocked after seeing the sun or something? I'm not sure if it was supposed to end there...
Love the look, and the audio. I got stuck after too many bombs went off, and I couldn't climb back to the start.
I find clicker games hard on my hands, but I love the art style and the music!
Neat!
Loved the laugh, but it did get irritating! Maybe a sploosh sound would have been funnier. Loved the gameplay and the characters.
Love the look, plays well!
Really cool idea, great puzzles!
This is amazing, so much character! Saving this to play with some buddies. I remember couch co-op with 4 pads being a nightmare to setup, when I did a similar thing ages ago. Well done my dudes.
I'd argue this needs *more* polish, it feels a bit empty and repetitive. Neat idea though.
Neat character designs. Like the idea and how you've animated without spriting them.
Awesome, love the animation!
Neat idea. Getting on the side is a little tricky, especially with digital inputs. I'd consider adding some physics assists to help get onto the side.
Absolutely beautiful as always. incredible soundtrack. I admit the ending was lost on me a bit, i'll have to replay this and see how it changes with different decisions.
â„â„
Nice job!
Nice
Cool gif drew me in, love the art style. Dislike that if you run out of poise you are pretty much stuck hoping it dies before you do. I love the esoteric message at the end saying what the gold was worth.
Neat, a vampire themed Splendor! Cool idea!
Yeah, busting up enemy ships feels real good. Nice and clunky ship controls, too. Took a while to adjust but before long I was slingshotting all over the place.
I really appreciate that control changes are just a tab away. I immediately ran into ghosting problems with the default setup, so being able to remap within 3 seconds is a fantastic thing to have, I want to keep this in mind for the next jam.
Thanks!
Neat graphics! But I cannot understand the inverted left/right movement?
Neat idea.
Neat idea, I did find upgrading early makes it ridiculously easy. I'd play with the difficulty curve a bit.
Cool!
Neat
Neat! Thanks for bringing this engine to my attention! Real cool use of theme, awesome graphics + sound, brought be back a few years indeed.
Love how you did the reflections, real cool!
Love the cat scene wipes! And the rest of the animation of course. Purrfect.
Really fun, I LOVE the devil laugh effect :)
Really cool devil head!
Cool idea
I hope you enjoyed making this, and you have learned what to improve on for next time!
Nice job.
Awesome. Love the art and animation, and the evolving music. 2 things however: - some of the collision felt off on the crawling plant phase, and i'd just get boned by random debris - I couldn't finish the tree section due to being unable to spam fast enough due to repetitive strain, and i'd just get caught between the buildings and the flying objects
I'd love to finish it, I feel like I was just reaching a crescendo, and felt fantastic up until then.
Music is really grating, but I get the feeling this is intentional. I really like the transitions.
Cute
So Good! What a great game. Would love to play a fleshed out version where the difficulty was a bit more balanced. I was trounced every time =(
I can't NOT give you a 5 for graphics, it's mind blowing this was done in such a short time. Really feels polished.
LOVE your particles and bloom!
Keeping this one for later. I feel perhaps some weapon balancing is in order - maybe make the sword reflect bullets to make up for the high cost?
Nice job
This had me giggling throughout. I love all the sounds - the intro, the cat variations, the grunting jump sound.
I also thought it is great that it bleeds to red. Why? Because you don't collect ALL the cats. Awesome.
Love the look and the audio!
Uhhh what? Nightmare inducing.
Great use of theme, great graphics, audio's cool, and I love your combat mechanics!
Good job, not bad for a first try! I like the sounds and the camera angle, the AI looked a bit stuttery and not smooth, and could do with some variations in terms of difficulty.
Neat Dark Souls aesthetic. I thought there would be more after defeating the big knight.
Music is neat
Why did I play this at night. Not gonna sleep now. Best play more LD games to rinse the super scary vibes away. Nice job! Really unsettling!
Juicy, nice job! I love the combination of resource scarcity and tamagotchi, super neat idea.
Completed it, very clever design! Graphics + animation style is very cool.
Nice work on the audio, real crisp. Would love to try this again with analogue controls.
Nice job! Looks and sounds awesome. Impressive.
Nice theme interpretation. Feels like all the separate pieces are there, but they don't *quite* come together - animation is cool but the PC kinda floats, backdrops are great but there's not much indicating what's interactable or not, clearly an idea too packed in terms of scope to be managed in a weekend.
Got potential however, like I can imagine adding twitch interaction support and turning this into a spectator survival horror.
Cute!
Nice job, cool flex on the theme and looks and sounds great.
Love the animations + impressive amount of art for a weekend, get some sleep y'all! Had some fun with this one :)
Love the pigeon variations, clearly had a lot of fun making them. Got cocky and got trashed when I was underleveled. Great flex on the theme, well executed.
Neat, love the audio.
Nightmare inducing.
Nice environment. Feel like this really needs more shadow work - some 2D volumetric shadows would really make this pop, and make the maze a little more challenging.
Neat aesthetic, I killed the dragon! Couldn't quite figure out what the different behaviours meant. I think you could lean into the movement a bit more, make the projectiles a tad slower so that they are more dodgable but make them have more of an effect.
Fun, clearly these lockdown disobeying dancers had it coming to them.
Livestock are a bit bugged unfortunately lol
Just released a hotfix to fix the infinite livestock (missed a line to reset a timer).
Wonderful, looks and plays really well, and sounds great. I could play this for hours!
had a good time with this one, love the little guy aesthetic
The controls and aiming needed a bit of work, that said everything else was great, the graphics were impressive for a jam and the gameplay felt rewarding and fun.
Wow! Graphics gameplay sound and UI all on point, what a great job. Inspiring me to do better!
So far the best I've seen. What a bold move to make a game that takes longer to play than the voting period of ludum dare.
The only thing larger than the carrot I'm going to grow is your balls for pulling off this idea. Well done!
I like the variety in the levels! the mice are my fave, although as a former rat owner I am pretty biased :rat:
I think the third level is the weakest.
Nice job!
You picked one mechanic to focus on and you did it well! I'm a sucker for a Dune game
Great audio work, sounds fantastic. Really interesting take on the theme, and the whole mood and theme comes together really well!
I played the jam version and it was a bit of a let down that the ui didn't work. Next time a web version would be much appreciated
Love how systems driven this is! I feel like I can be very expressive with my actions. And the lightbuilb turns on in my brain and I realize what the game wants me to do, I loled a lot! Thanks :)
Can't say I expected that.
Fun design, hit points and damage needs rebalancing as the enemies where too bulky. Crazy impressive 3d modelling for a jam game. Well done.
Very ambitious for a jam! Love the art in the rooms. And freeroaming in space mining asteroids is really cool, especially the grappling and shattering of asteroids. The spaceship handles worse than the corsa I learned to drive in.
It's a shame because it seemed completely random, if there had been some logic puzzle gameplay it could have been really fun.
oh hell yeah a dune entry! Got out juuuust before the worm, felt epic. Great mood, love the use of sound. And the worm looks ace.
The gameplay loop is highly engaging. Not sure about the spiders, not really big carrot fiends. Badgers ate my carrots irl and I wish I had a turret to fend them off! The music is unfortunately quite difficult to listen to for a long time, could have maybe done with some more variance. Nice job!
Those comic cuts to boss intros are fantastic!
Cool take, love a good gnome. This however is unplayable, tried a few times to get into the rhythm but it just eludes me.
looks great, plays well, my only gripe is having to find all the tools. I feel it could feel a lot more fast paced if you could switch weapons with a keypress rather than having to find them hidden throughout the map (or even just have them at the spawn point).
Fun game, great concept, the controls were too complicated though. A little work this could be a really fun puzzle game with different levels featuring different biomes and veg.
Great name, solid idea, well executed.
My fave game of the jam so far. So cute, so fun and with a good balance for how often you get speed and bowls
Just kept losing right near the start, didn't really get it. Maybe change the game balancing for a smoother curve
Lovely audio work! Love the character sprites and animation!
I think the arena is perhaps a bit too large. I imagine it'd be perfect for a multiplayer co op style. The jump control could be polished, i'd love to see tapping jump to have a shorter jump rather than having the same speed.
Nice work! Just need to find a dreamcast now :s
A card game! awesome. Love the visuals and the veggie models + card names are inspired. I did have trouble with the placing of cards down, it didn't feel like the mouse cursor position and the ui were in sync. But I did figure it out and beat my way through some farmers!
I think the only thing I'd change would be to make the veggies auto attack, as it was difficult to figure out I had to click attack manually. Great idea tough and well executed!
Good controls, absorbing gameplay. Fantastic achievement for a jam, be proud of yourselves. Loved the evil laugh.
beautiful looking game, feels and plays good! I would say it's more foraging than harvesting but very enjoyable. Cool monsters especially the boss!
Well done, great job for your first game! Love the bird planes and te tank design
Nice job :eggplant: :knife: :knife:
Great take on the theme, love the graphical style, e.g. the sun shadows.
I do like the twist. I think it's a great idea, that could be amazing with a bit more fleshing out. It does start out painting the narrator as a bit of a creep, with some of the locked choices rather than what I would say to a stranger. I think it could be more subtle that there's more going on so that the reveal has more punch.
Nice work!
Hell yeah a bevy webgame, I want to try using this next time.
