LD22 — Alone

Snow by bentosmile 2012-01-05T04:57:00

Nice adventure game. Pretty long for an LD game.

Worst Birthday Ever by sol_hsa 2011-12-23T23:21:00

Nice job in just 4.8 hours!
I didn't like the ending though.

Inkompleet Shootiefing by bluescrn 2011-12-20T20:57:00

Awesome presentation. Loved the background and the explosions. The control scheme and the sentry guns popping out shooting at me reminded me of Bastion. If you were to make a full game out of it, I for one would definitely play it! My only complaint is that you didn't really incorporate the theme into the game.

Space Wrench by Daniel X. Moore 2011-12-21T00:05:00

It's an alright game.

I used to speak to the wall by Gib 2011-12-23T22:20:00

Really good, moody game. Found all endings!

5 DAYS by matthias_zarzecki 2011-12-20T22:14:00

Sad game. :(

Cardiac and fireproof Kitten alone in Alps after a plane crash by jim3wg 2011-12-23T19:48:00

Great concept, good execution. Loved the +1 Kitten logos on the plane and the nice, long, descriptive title. :-)
I managed to finish it, once you get used to the mechanics (heart rate / temperature) it is actually rather easy.

The Rescue by JoeDev_net 2011-12-21T20:40:00

Fits the theme perfectly, but not very challenging.

Lonely Butterfly Simulator by deepinthewoods 2011-12-20T22:57:00

Nice graphics, interesting concept. But now my fingers hurt from the constant flapping. :)

alone I art by Make A Game 2012-01-05T03:55:00

Loved this game. It's funny, it looks nice, it has a great soundtrack. Unfortunately, after a while it gets repetitive, so I would've added an another exit at the other side of the museum to cut down the long walking distance.

Do NOT Hug Me! by ziomorti 2011-12-23T19:36:00

Fun animations, nice gameplay and the concept is totally relevant to the theme, but I would have loved to see some variation. Also, that boss is hard.

Fur Ever Alone by TentacleNoises 2011-12-20T21:45:00

Nice graphics, good use of the theme and a kitten. Pretty good.

VOXTERIUM by Kitch 2012-01-05T04:08:00

Great game, the only thing I didn't like is the sound - some effects are rather annoying. Oh, and I didn't really get how it fits the theme.

Lonely Star by Dietrich Epp 2012-01-05T02:02:00

I really liked the graphics and animations. Some kind of in-game instructions wouldn't hurt, at first I had no idea I could throw the star... :)
Some sound effects would've added a lot to the game.

Limbus Kitten by scgrn 2011-12-23T20:50:00

I had to hunt for 2 DLLs to run the game (libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll and libstdc++-6.dll). My antivirus didn't warn about it, and since the source code code is included, I don't think that it is malicious.
Unfortunately the game is buggy and the animations are weird. There is no sound or music. I was unable to complete the game, so I cannot comment on the ending.

Maze Explorers by caranha 2012-01-05T02:40:00

Nice concept, and I kinda liked the sounds as well (nom-nom-nom).
I think the transition takes too long when you run out of food, and it was frustrating to get stuck because the companions block your path (as already mentioned).

Calculon's Revenge by whaddon 2011-12-23T21:23:00

Randomly generating levels is a neat idea, but unfortunately the game lacks in execution.

Crazy Old Cat Lady by Indivicivet 2011-12-23T22:42:00

Good idea, too bad you didn't have time to really implement it.

Speed to Freedom by helloserve 2012-01-05T01:40:00

Nice graphics, and the sound design adds a lot, too. Very random - sometimes I'd crash after a few seconds, other times I could go for a few minutes. I don't really like games without a goal other than to reach a high score, but it was fun nevertheless.

Populating_Racing by Jilius 2011-12-20T23:38:00

Interesting idea for a game, I liked it, even though I don't usually play racing games.

The Last Man on Earth by h.attila 2011-12-23T05:42:00

Thanks for the feedback!

I think the most important thing I've learned is that I should ask people to test my game on IRC/Twitter, or IRL. These things (reaction time, hitbox, level design, etc.) could have been fixed in a matter of minutes if only there were someone to point them out for me.
I will try to work on my graphics "skills" too. This was the first time I've ever used Inkscape, so there is certainly room for improvement.

This was my first LD, and it was great fun, so I hope I will be able to make a better game next year.

I will make sure to rate your entries in return. Thanks for taking the time to try out my game and I hope you didn't break your keyboards in frustration...

@caranha:
Well, I came up with the story in five minutes, so there ought to be some plot holes in it. I guess the army should enlist more punk kids then. :-)

The Last Man on Earth by h.attila 2012-01-06T14:44:00

@philhassey: What OS are you using? .NET and XNA requires Windows XP SP 3 or later. You cannot use XNA under OS X, or Linux, as far as I know. Or are you having some other problem?

The Four Hats in "Room to Roam" by tacograveyard 2011-12-23T21:28:00

It seems like a fun game, but I don't have an iOS device. I am not familiar with the development tools that you've used, is it possible to release a web based or PC version, so I could try it?

Rubber Ball in a Dark Room by OdedS 2011-12-20T20:30:00

Fits the theme perfectly, but isn't really a game.

Loneliness by Vit 2011-12-21T20:23:00

Short, sweet game.

WEIRDLY ALONE. by xilefian 2012-01-05T03:22:00

Your character moves very slowly and you cannot change your direction while running. The sounds get quite annoying after a while. The graphics are alright and the game fits the theme.

The Secluded Cave by Stargoat 2012-01-05T02:12:00

Very moody game, nice use of simple graphics. I missed some basic sound effects, and I didn't like that it just exits when the game is over.

Midas by Wanderlands 2011-12-23T22:06:00

I had a hard time with this game until I realized that brute force might not be a good idea here. The puzzles aren't that hard if you stop and think for a while.
Nice minimalistic graphics, great concept, good execution.

The Tomb by Okkwogg 2012-01-05T04:33:00

Good graphics, nice use of the theme, but I lost my interest in endlessly wandering without a clear goal, so I just gave up. Sounds would've been nice, too.

Copy Killer by PerilousPete 2011-12-23T23:42:00

Great game, congratz!

LD24 — Evolution

Selective Breeding by h.attila 2012-09-01T14:00:00

Sorry for the delay. I tried to run it on two different machines (both running Windows 7 Professional), and it was working fine. Eventually I ended up installing a clean virtual Windows XP environment and sure enough, it failed to run.
I managed to trace down the bug and uploaded a fixed version, so it should be working now.
Thanks for your interest in my game!

Selective Breeding by h.attila 2012-09-04T20:30:00

Nice, glad to know it's working now.
Yes, unfortunately I couldn't make it clear in the game how gene passing is supposed to work. Players shouldn't need to read about this stuff just to play a game... Oh well, lesson learned, better luck next time.

LD25 — You are the Villain

StarRunner by Bobrocket 2012-12-22T00:29:00

It's not bad, but it's too easy and doesn't get any harder as you progress through the game. Nice art and music, though.

My Little World Domination Simulator by Ace 2012-12-22T03:44:00

I liked the game, but unfortunately just when I started to really get into it, it crashed.

Intergalactic Oil Baron Simulator 2012 by Ragepyro 2012-12-22T03:52:00

I think it had potential, but it's obviously unfinished.

Rive Gauche by lightspeedlucas 2012-12-18T20:19:00

For me, at first it wasn't clear what I had to. I think some quick descriptions at the beginning would've helped (e.g. this is you, you have to get there, avoid cops).
The game is pretty hard, there were a lot of cops after I robbed a few times.
I liked your art style, the music and sound effects fit the style, and well produced.

Bad Puppy by csanyk 2012-12-17T06:28:00

I liked your original idea better, but I understand why you dropped it.
The game is still funny though and your interpretation of the theme is definitely unique.
I think some backgrounds and goofy music would've greatly improved the game.

Goblin Fortress by AtkinsSJ 2012-12-17T19:08:00

I liked the game, especially the sound effects.
I understand that you didn't have the time to finish the game as you originally wanted to, but I still think it could have had some simple goals (like get X amount of resources, raise your population to Y members, etc).

On the Run by spacechase0 2012-12-22T03:58:00

It's simple but fun.

You are the VLAN by myachin 2012-12-20T18:11:00

Cool idea, but I got frustrated when I got to the g6 stage which has a totally random outcome. I had to go back to the first stage over and over again to farm energy but if you get hit by the red security thingy once you can lose almost everything you gathered so far.

Villainscape by Sylence 2012-12-17T09:38:00

The idea is good, but I would've liked it better if instead of ending the game as soon as a guard saw me, I would've had an opportunity to outrun them, only failing when they actually catch me.

Earthmageddon by calzoneman 2012-12-19T21:05:00

Fun little game.

Dark vs. The World by Lucas Schenck 2012-12-23T20:19:00

Pretty hard game, the attacks are cool.

Untitled by dansludumdare 2012-12-19T19:51:00

Interesting. I had to read the comments to figure out what was going on, it could've had a short explanation in the game.

Copyright Criminal by BNeutral 2012-12-19T03:25:00

Fun little game. I really have no complaints, maybe some music would've made it better, though.

Robo Jerks by SFX 2012-12-25T08:58:00

Nice idea, congrats on finishing a turn-based strategy game. I think the player should win when every enemy unit is destroyed, instead of having to approach and destroy the orphanage. I couldn't finish the last level, it just showed that an error has occurred.

(Tie One Woman to a Train Track and Suddenly) I'm the Badguy by handCraftedRadio 2012-12-18T20:36:00

Funny game. The whole idea, the sound effects (especially the evil laugh) are hilarious. Although, it could've used some music.

Dance Man by MrEvilGuy 2012-12-17T08:12:00

I love these weird, surrealistic games!

Bertie the Butcher by Casino Jack 2012-12-23T00:32:00

Polished game with nice mechanics. Well done!

Heist by 64Mega 2012-12-23T00:55:00

Short, but nicely done game.

Pirate Guy by Skye 2012-12-27T23:18:00

The controls felt strange to me and I don't like that the remains of other ships can still hurt you.

EvilCakes by FrederickK 2012-12-21T21:05:00

Cute graphics. I think the game is a bit too hard and it needs some sound effects or music.

Car Chase by waveon foxdale 2012-12-27T23:37:00

You move way too slowly, so it doesn't feel like a car chase.

A Game of Pirates by homelinen 2012-12-19T02:40:00

Obviously an unfinished game. What really piqued my interest is that you used Ruby, which is one of my favorite programming languages but I never really considered it suitable for game development. You might've changed my mind about that.

Undergrounded by fuopy 2012-12-27T23:48:00

Well, it was... weird, I guess.

ROTTEN ROBBER by Start_ 2012-12-19T20:04:00

It wasn't clear how to use the hostages, sidekicks, etc. Other than that, it's a simple game of Mastermind. Bank robbery definitely fits the theme.

In My Evil Dream by pirate-rob 2012-12-19T20:22:00

I liked that you can choose to be good or evil, nice presentation, too.

Hunt by someone 2012-12-27T23:27:00

Congrats for making a turn-based strategy, it's not an easy genre, but unfortunately the game is very obviously unfinished.

StickThief by Zaxuhe 2012-12-19T20:46:00

Good idea. The music didn't fit the game very well, and it could've used some kind of notification when the timeout for stealing stuff is over.

Big Bad Wolf by Dir3kt 2012-12-27T23:57:00

Fun game, nice presentation.

Nameless, unfinished failure by tripleVisionGames 2012-12-27T23:59:00

It looks really nice, it is unfortunate that you couldn't finish it.

Villain Tower Defender by Eamon 2012-12-24T08:12:00

Aiming is hard, because the bullets are too slow.

More Afraid of You by TomSmizzle 2012-12-28T00:03:00

Very good! Funny game.

Against All Good by Herku 2012-12-28T00:08:00

Way too easy, there are far too few enemies.

The townsfolk are coming! by chuck_mcnugget 2012-12-19T04:02:00

The presentation is great, too bad the game is so simple.

Evil Cat by Zener 2012-12-18T20:08:00

I liked it. The idea is nice and your art work is good (especially the cat). You could've recorded some sounds of your cats, though.

Fearless by lekochen 2012-12-24T08:25:00

Smart. It could've used some sound effects.

Captain Torrent by sev_inf 2012-12-18T21:32:00

Great idea, nice graphics, but it could've used some more variety because it gets repetitive.
Also, it doesn't have any sound effects or music.

A Villain Project by tmt_01 2012-12-20T21:23:00

I think the meteor should have a bigger damage area.

Evil Rover by tumoxep 2012-12-17T08:17:00

Very short, but unique game with an interesting interpolation of the theme.
I found the texts hard to read, though.

Royal Reptile Rampage by dalbinblue 2012-12-19T19:43:00

Your idea and graphics are good, but I found it annoying that everything uses energy, and I have to wait for it to replenish just to be able to jump.

RobTheBank by dvdking 2012-12-17T07:12:00

A solid entry, nice pixelated graphics, good sound effects, and bank robbery definitely fits the theme. I also liked the variety in it, the driving stage is a nice addition. It felt a bit too easy and short though.

Dastardly Diver by Spierek 2012-12-18T21:25:00

Fun game, nice presentation.

The Best of Me by zatyka 2012-12-22T04:31:00

Interesting, well done game.

Kill Butterflies by Natman 2012-12-19T03:50:00

It is really fun for a game made in 3-4 hours.

The Maze Heist by Huskitch 2012-12-17T07:25:00

The noise when you touch the wall quickly becomes annoying.
Also, your character moves way too slow which - coupled with the constant backtracking needed in the maze - makes the game pretty tedious after a while.
I liked the drawings, though.

ETGA! by Graf_Grun 2012-12-19T20:38:00

Fun game, the sound effects could be better, and the story is unfinished.

Zombie Salvation by pfirsich 2012-12-22T00:14:00

I wanted to create a zombie, the progress went up to 100%, but then nothing happened. Then I just randomly clicked a few times, selecting different bases, etc. and then the game crashed.

The Shadow Inside Of Me by SaintHeiser 2012-12-23T20:16:00

Amazing presentation, good game mechanics, nice atmosphere.

The Secret Plan by kevincorrigan 2012-12-19T01:42:00

It's alright, the graphics are quite good, and FPS game submissions are rare. I would've liked some sounds, or just visual feedback when I shoot (smoke particles, kickback of the gun, etc.) and music.

Sebastian by Amoaeba Junior 2012-12-19T21:14:00

It was fun.
I liked the art style, the funny cutscenes, the sound effects, it's all well put together.

Double, Double! by metadept 2012-12-20T18:17:00

It's a solid puzzle game. No complaints, really.

Evil Gnome's Revenge by Spelchan 2012-12-25T08:39:00

The idea was alright, but the presentation could've used more work.

Don't Look At Me by Xavier 2012-12-17T23:10:00

I love Terry's work, so it's nice to see a game inspired by one of his.
I like the atmosphere you created with the nice, dark palette along with the storm sounds, I just wish there would be a real ending to it.

The Fall of the Shapes Father by WiseGAMER 2012-12-25T08:36:00

I agree that the player's hitbox is a bit too big. I liked the music, well done!

Christmas Caper by FireHawkSoftware 2012-12-21T20:05:00

Some scoring system would've been nice.

Zombie Tower Defence by Julgodis 2012-12-17T07:51:00

The presentation is alright (graphics and sound), but I found the game too easy. I could win by simply spamming an endless stream of zombies without any kind of tactics involved. Of course, I know it's hard to make and then properly balance a game like this in a short time.

Evil Keeper by XmmmX 2012-12-20T21:46:00

Great idea, good presentation.

Decommissioner by Crowbeak 2012-12-18T01:16:00

Well written text adventure. I can't really write much about it without spoiling it, other than it's definitely worth checking out and playing till the end.

Consumption by VanMerwan 2012-12-18T19:39:00

Well done! I genuinely felt bad at the end.
Could've used some sound effects and music, though.

Eurydice by AnnaGavaldaKedavra 2012-12-18T00:47:00

It's kinda like Terry Cavanagh's game, Don't Look Back, but this one is on acid or something. :)
Props for the graphics and overall mood of the game, but I'm not even going to pretend that I fully understood what was going on.

The Accursed Moon by barkergames 2012-12-20T03:02:00

Pretty good graphics. The game quickly gets hard after the first stage.
I think the wolf could've used some walking animations.

Mr. Cylinder by Harsay 2012-12-25T09:14:00

Too bad it's unfinished, the graphics are really nice.

The Fix by Crimsoneer 2012-12-17T23:37:00

Good concept.
I didn't like that the controls are all over the place, I think you could've used keys that are next to each other or simply the mouse to click on the icons.
Also, the game gives me an error when I close its window:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "The Fix.py", line 207, in <module>
NameError: name 'terminate' is not defined
Otherwise it worked fine.

Sunday by Cy4n1d 2012-12-20T18:29:00

It's very simplistic, but strangely satisfying.

Project Lightning by dark_hunter 2012-12-20T21:32:00

The graphics are very well done, the game is too short, though.

Pandemic Simulator by Goz3rr 2012-12-17T09:00:00

Fits the theme well, but I could just sit and watch the virus spread without much interaction, and I won.

Krampus by 3dwoody 2012-12-20T18:32:00

Nice presentation, great idea, but the game is very short.

Sammich-Napper by Noah Ratcliff 2012-12-25T09:10:00

I liked your idea, the menu and the glass shattering effects. Too bad you have to restart the entire game if you make a mistake, it's frustrating.

The Mute King by vids 2012-12-17T09:07:00

I like games with mouse gestures, it is also nicely drawn. The sound effects could be better, though.

Patient Zero by burtlo 2013-01-04T14:00:00

The music is good, the game feels too easy because nobody tries to stop you.
Props for Ruby, I love to see it used by game developers.

Glimmy by apeandskate 2012-12-17T07:33:00

Nicely done game. Great graphics, interesting gameplay (kinda reminds me of Qix). I agree that it would be nice to be able to actually burn thing down though.

Pyro Scramble by jonathan 2012-12-25T09:02:00

I think it's way too hard to keep your score up.

Purple Fingers by heloheu 2012-12-19T00:50:00

Funny game, cute graphics.

HeroDontSavePrincess by pvp 2012-12-20T03:07:00

The presentation is fine, but I found the game really frustrating as I had no idea where to place the box 10 times.

The goat that ate Christmas by lando walters 2012-12-17T06:42:00

Having an online leaderboard is an excellent idea - now I kinda wish I'd implemented it in my game, but it didn't even occur to me.
The game takes a surprisingly long time to load on my PC for some reason, otherwise it's a fine shooter game.
I think the controls are a bit off, and the goat shouldn't have that much health because it can take an insane amount of punishment.

A Reason for Vengeance by Joseph Miller 2012-12-25T09:31:00

Interesting. Nice graphics, good writing.

Patient Zero by grouchotron 2012-12-21T21:17:00

Well, I don't have an iPad.

Show Me The Money by Faust 2012-12-17T18:42:00

It's interesting to see a game with an environmental message here. The greedy, exploiting man definitely fits the theme.
I actually liked your graphics, too. The game has a certain charm to it.
My problem with the game (as already mentioned by others) is that it doesn't give me enough information. I don't know how much money my boats, sawmills and mines make and how often, so it's not easy to plan ahead.

You are Bankster! by Deril 2012-12-19T02:01:00

Fun little game. I actually liked the sound effects, too.

The Plague by Joozey 2012-12-18T21:46:00

I like your art style, the idea is interesting, but the game feels pointless as there is no win condition.

Roadkill by cuts 2012-12-22T00:33:00

It's a bit difficult to handle the car, but overall pretty good game.

UREVIL ENDLESS TD! by Saisaith 2012-12-19T02:53:00

It's a fun little tower defense game, but it gets repetitive. I think it could've had more towers, more enemy types, more maps, etc. The audio is really good, and the graphics aren't bad, either (the rain effects are especially good).

Bugler by masterboth 2012-12-20T02:47:00

I can't move properly.

Conquer the World by nathanj439 2012-12-19T04:15:00

Interesting concept.
I liked your music but it didn't really fit the game in my opinion.

Cursed Temple by SirJson 2012-12-18T21:17:00

The idea is good, but the game gets repetitive fast. You could've added different weapons, different enemies, etc.
Also, I think it's weird that the arrows just go in a straight line. Adding gravity would've added some realism and more challenge.
The graphics and sound effects are fine for an LD game.

You are the Asteroid! by rainblade studios 2012-12-19T04:07:00

The game has great visuals, but it felt too simple. Also, it doesn't have any sound effects or music.

Murders at the Mansion by aneeslol 2012-12-17T08:30:00

Well done game, reminds me a bit of Hotline Miami. :)

Sir Mastery of Dickery by Xheis 2012-12-20T18:44:00

The controls were a bit off, otherwise nice game.

Villanus Haerfest by LenardG 2012-12-17T09:23:00

Great interpretation of the theme!
The presentation is also really nice, the tiles are drawn well.
The game is pretty easy though, and it gets repetitive fast.

Totally Unqualified Getaway Driver by kerneltrick 2012-12-20T18:49:00

The sounds get annoying quickly.

Human Eater by tcho_i_er 2012-12-20T18:26:00

It's a fun little game, but gets repetitive after a while.

Colorful by suve 2012-12-18T19:49:00

Liked the art style, but the game is punishingly hard, I quickly gave up.
The sound effects fit the style, but they are way too loud.
Also, I don't understand why I'm the villain in this story.

Evil Driver by rogerklotz 2012-12-17T08:40:00

Great idea, nice execution.

Criminal Empires by paulfysh 2012-12-18T00:18:00

It's lacking in its presentation, but has a surprising amount of depth. I still couldn't figure out a winning formula.
The descriptions and the random events are also fun.

Master Abductor by Diamonde 2012-12-20T02:53:00

You're not allowed to use content created by others in a Compo entry.

PsychoTherapist by char68 2012-12-20T19:01:00

Very difficult and unforgiving. You could've added 3 "lives" that need to be lost before you lose.

Villain on a train by pinion 2012-12-19T00:40:00

One of the funniest games I tried.
The minimalistic presentation is great, too.

Postal by Sim 2012-12-19T01:10:00

It was fun, but could've used some feedback when I hit the crates with different weapons (like particles, bullet holes, etc.).
Also, some sound effects would've been nice.
But not bad for your first attempt.

Aliens from outer space! by svenardo 2012-12-17T07:01:00

Remaking a classic game with the roles switched was the first idea I had when I saw the theme. I eventually dropped it, but I see you managed to recreate the old arcade feeling well with your game. Space Invaders is perfect for this kind of role reversal.
The graphics and sound effects are alright. The game plays well, but the enemy can take way too much damage, and the music quickly becomes repetitive.

789 by rumachine 2012-12-18T01:27:00

Nice concept, but I couldn't really master the controls even after I read all the hints.

Noir Game by epiplon 2012-12-20T22:24:00

I liked your idea that you can only shoot if you are in a light area. Stylish graphics, too.

JASPrincess by dreamwalker 2012-12-21T21:22:00

Fun game, solid entry.

Lab's Lab by HeXoT 2012-12-19T01:02:00

Your game is quite unique in offering networking capabilities and a level editor, both of those features are rare among LD games.

Hungry Alien by mikkelin 2012-12-19T19:46:00

Fun little game, loved your sounds.

Alien Invasion by markusfisch 2012-12-21T19:54:00

Fun idea, but I couldn't master the controls.

Goat Factory by nilstastic 2012-12-21T19:50:00

Pretty good, it's kinda like TIM, but with goats. :)

Double Tap by Sam Driver 2012-12-21T21:43:00

I quickly figured out what were you going for as I was reading lots of news reports on these events lately, but it was still powerful. Well done!

Miniman vs Dr. Malificius by master4523 2012-12-17T19:48:00

A role-reversed platformer is a great idea for this theme, but the guy refused to die when his lives were lost (I'm not sure whether it's a bug or I missed something).

Getaway by Valeour 2013-01-04T13:29:00

It's not bad. It felt too easy, but it has the potential to be a great game.

Mr. Bowtie Versus JZ by derdragon 2012-12-22T00:21:00

Yeah, it definitely needs a goal, otherwise it's a bit pointless.

Dicktator Simulator by barigorokarl 2012-12-20T18:53:00

Funny game.

Clarion Call by FireSlash 2012-12-21T21:29:00

It was hard to figure out which modules to install, I think there could've been a preconfigured ship at the start of the game.

Click to Lock and Load by RandomM00 2012-12-20T21:26:00

It's really hard. Liked the art style.

Minions by ripter 2012-12-19T03:02:00

It's a good idea, but I think it's too easy. Some sound effects and music could've been added, too.

Life Buster by AyCe 2012-12-27T23:52:00

Cool idea, funny game.

Amongst Shadows by BlackBulletIV 2012-12-25T09:26:00

I think it's a hard, but nice game.

Paradise Island by quadtree 2012-12-20T03:32:00

Good idea and implementations, I think it's really hard, though.

Eater by RokB 2012-12-20T03:15:00

Simple, but fun. Later levels can contain situations when you cannot dodge every bomb, which can be frustrating, though.

BendoReflector X-25 by caribou 2012-12-20T21:35:00

I couldn't try it out, it just waited for more players.

Grand Wreck Auto by naufr4g0 2012-12-24T08:18:00

The graphics are very nice, but it's way too hard. The cops gang up on you and you can't do much against them.

X-Moon by leafo 2012-12-19T01:53:00

Nice work, great presentation (graphics and audio), but I found the game way too hard.

A game about an evil guy. by mastazavr 2012-12-20T03:26:00

The graphics are nice, it could've had sound effects and music, although I don't really understand why you're the evil guy in the game.
Once I got the key, I couldn't climb up the ladder. Is it the end of game?

AnteChristmas by nSun 2012-12-20T21:39:00

I liked your idea and the art style, but I think the game is too repetitive.

Turret Maniac by Wukkopi 2012-12-20T03:44:00

Unique take on the tower defense genre. Could've used more types of guns.

The Villein by Rex Peppers 2012-12-18T20:54:00

So I started the game without the sound turned on, and I just sat here for a while clicking on things randomly, completely baffled as I had no idea what I was supposed to do. :)
I think you could've used some visual indicators, too, like flashing the targets in the correct sequence or something.
Other than that, I liked your interpretation of the theme, your graphics and the music are well done.

A Maze Game by hannardynamite 2012-12-21T19:35:00

I don't understand why I'm the villain in this game...

Nature Beat by Retroid 2012-12-19T03:56:00

Fun little game, could've used sound effects and some visuals when you kill something (like spatters of blood).

Dungeon Inc. by Encircle 2012-12-23T20:31:00

Good idea. Could be improved by adding sound effects.

Sir Cat by JoeCool17 2012-12-17T23:41:00

I think I will come back to your entry when you make an executable (either Windows or Linux is fine by me). I'm sorry, but I don't have the time right now to install stuff and figure out how to run Python games.

In Flames by SuperSausageDog 2012-12-20T22:01:00

I liked it. I really had to think ahead because I can only use the axe once per level.

EVIL SOUL EATING DEMON LORD FROM HELL in HAPPY KINGDOM by Mago 2013-01-04T14:16:00

It's fun to go around destroying everything, but there's no real challenge.

Sinister Simon by Puffi 2012-12-20T22:06:00

Good idea, a bit too hard, I think.

Blob Revolution by kill0u 2012-12-20T22:13:00

The game is obviously very polished, but I couldn't learn the controls so I gave up.

Wearhouse by J 2012-12-20T03:52:00

Interesting idea and nice presentation, but the game is very unforgiving.

Christmas Clicker 2 by MichaelJLong 2012-12-22T00:24:00

Your presentation is fine (graphics and music). The game is obviously not finished.

Eaten by wzl 2012-12-18T19:55:00

I like your art style and the sound effects, but unfortunately the game is pretty pointless as there are no win/lose conditions.

Kim Jong Un's Ultimate Childhood Game by Gemberkoekje 2012-12-17T09:30:00

I don't really get this game. I just launched the rockets randomly and they hit their targets every time.
Otherwise, I like the idea.

Earth Destroyer by Static_boy123 2012-12-20T22:19:00

I liked your idea. The game is obviously not finished, and I didn't have the patience to gather enough energy to use the goat, although it looks fun.

The Banker by qualia 2012-12-20T03:40:00

Very funny game, although the character could've moved faster.

Erfos by Patacorow 2012-12-21T21:15:00

Congrats on making an RTS, but the game is pretty buggy.

Robot Hunts Kitten by edric_garran 2012-12-22T00:36:00

I have no idea what the win condition is, but I won anyway.

Kill The Day! by 2A1S 2012-12-19T02:24:00

Good idea, but way too hard in my opinion. I think the enemies should be easier to kill, and they could give you some slack every so often to avoid getting pinned by a lot of guys at the same time (a few seconds of burst fire followed by a short pause - you could say they are reloading or something).

You Villain by CNIAngel 2012-12-22T00:42:00

I agree that it's a bit short. Also, I haven't tried every variations, but I almost always won. It should have more ways to fail.

Nefertiti by SunnyCode 2012-12-22T00:54:00

I don't know why you got this idea, but making an installer is definitely not necessary to distribute XNA games.
I've made a few XNA games already and I never had to use installers, XNA and ClickOnce are completely unrelated technologies.

Path to Death by Steven Colling 2012-12-20T19:13:00

Very detailed, nicely presented game.

You are the hero by Houly 2012-12-23T20:24:00

A bit too short, and the sound effects could be improved.

Splatter by Tsuk13 2013-01-04T14:12:00

I like the idea, but it lacks graphics and it's too easy.

Chronotography by Smitty333 2012-12-24T08:32:00

I couldn't run it (64-bit Windows 8).

Gold Thief by Cryptoporticus 2012-12-19T03:09:00

I liked the idea of a heist game with an abstract graphics style. I think the music loop is too short, so it quickly got repetitive, and the game got hard really soon.

Pirate Scum by Diventurer 2012-12-19T03:18:00

While being a pirate certainly fits the theme, I couldn't get into this game because of the slow controls. Also, why am I able to sail through land?

Dirty Robbing Hood by peterfeatherstone 2012-12-19T19:58:00

I had trouble finding my way around the map. The graphics and animations are fine. It could've used some sound effects or music.

A Villain is YOU! by tSwitch 2012-12-18T00:00:00

I like it. Nice presentation (music, graphics, sound effects are all good), good take on the reversed TD genre with some unique additions. The random nature of the game adds some replay value, but for me it also lead to very easy situations when only one tower could hurt my minions.

One Armed Invader by PapyPilgrim 2013-01-04T15:23:00

It's an unusual idea, but nice execution. Some win condition could've made it better and some indicator to know how far away you are from your goals.

Susie's Xmas Hit List by AdricZero 2013-01-04T13:37:00

Fun little game.

Waldo by h.attila 2012-12-18T19:13:00

@Xavier: It worked on both of my PCs, one of them is running Windows 7. Did you get any error message? Can you play any other XNA game? Maybe you can try reinstalling the frameworks (both .NET and XNA).

AI Rampage by FacticiusVir 2012-12-21T20:00:00

I'm sorry, but I'm not gonna sit through several minutes of text every time someone sees me.

In good heart by pighead10 2013-01-04T14:32:00

It was way too hard, there are too many ways to lose.

Mr Pickpocket by Waynetron 2012-12-22T00:45:00

It's fun, I like how you get imprisoned for life if they catch you. :)

Unhappy Holidays! by GeorgeBroussard 2013-01-04T14:54:00

It would've been nice to actually see the bullets and rockets when you shoot. Also, I think the enemies can take too much damage. Some of them can survive multiple shotgun blasts even at close range.
Otherwise it's a polished, nice game.

BREAK! by LucaPavone 2012-12-27T23:12:00

I liked that you were generous with the placement of checkpoints, otherwise it would've been very difficult.

Somso by Niavlys 2013-01-04T14:40:00

The controls are weird, I couldn't really get the hang of them and I think the game is too simple.

Chaos! by MadcoreTom 2013-01-04T20:29:00

Nice game. I had to use the map a lot though, so maybe there could've been some kind of indication in-game to help find your objectives.

Trying to get by by PerilousPete 2012-12-17T09:49:00

Sound effects, more weapons and different types of enemies that attack you in different ways would've made it better.
I liked the cute animal drawings, and the idea is good.

Skeleton's Revenge by Dr. Mo 2012-12-17T08:46:00

Good idea, very challenging game.
I also liked the monochrome presentation and the sound effects.

Home Massacre by aeveis 2012-12-17T07:39:00

Really nice graphics and music. You definitely nailed the mood, too. Yes, it's very short but it's to the point.

Final Plan by Doublecaster 2013-01-04T15:02:00

I have no experience with turn based RPGs, but I think it's way too hard.

Poacher by kulhajs 2012-12-27T23:45:00

I didn't get money for kills after I bought the bow.

The Evil Space-Hippie by PAFdelirium 2013-01-04T20:18:00

It's a very nice game, but you have to start over from the beginning and sit through a lot of unskippable text if you make a mistake.

Baboom:The Villain by celsyum 2012-12-17T09:12:00

The game is very simplistic, you don't have many actions available. The presentation is nice.

Sabotage by Nilmrots 2013-01-04T20:11:00

Not bad, but it's pretty short.

Earthmination by Dreauw 2013-01-04T20:41:00

Very good! Nice presentation, good gameplay, cool music.

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Space Eater by kevin_pauly 2015-12-22T21:35:00

Liked it. Very cute game! :) The sounds design and the music are really well done. Also, it's a great interpretation of both themes.

Tama Battle! by midgard 2015-12-15T23:24:00

Nicely done game but I felt it got too monotonous quickly.

Bloon by Paul Sinnett 2015-12-15T19:15:00

Great idea for the two themes and a really nicely presented game. I was really missing some game over screen and a way to restart the game though. Also, some variety in the enemies would have been cool.

Morse GRO by GAFBlizzard 2015-12-19T11:44:00

Really great, unique idea, too bad the game is this hard. Fun nostalgic LCD graphics, though.

Toppa! by lekochen 2015-12-18T21:32:00

It was an interesting idea but it's way too short.

Pigeon by euske 2015-12-18T21:17:00

Really interesting idea, however I could beat the game without using the tree at all. Also, the controls are really hard to master and my fingers hurt after all the flapping. :) But I made it to the Moon after all!

The Uncertainty Principle by radmars 2015-12-17T22:14:00

Interesting idea and pretty well made.

Evilator by Dyn 2015-12-17T22:17:00

My first idea was to control an elevator but I ended up doing a different kind of game. Glad to see someone else has realized that.

Bakeneko!!!! by Ariake81 2015-12-17T21:54:00

I liked the art style and the overall presentation, but ultimately I found it far too easy. I could go on for a long time just by keeping the left arrow pressed.

Wrecking Bull by srimech 2015-12-22T21:54:00

Fun idea. Using polygons instead of rectangular bricks also makes it cooler. The bull moves too fast compared to the skateboard though so I often found it impossible to catch it.

Feed the Cat by Polona 2015-12-18T21:05:00

Is it just me or is it really hard? Really cute idea though.

Revenge of the Ducks by Ronin748 2015-12-15T23:56:00

Fun idea, nicely done. The controls are somewhat awkward and take some time to get used to. Loved the music.

Give and Take by Move127 2015-12-16T00:02:00

Interesting idea. I couldn't always figure out the chain of events though.

Cipolletti by psychonull 2015-12-15T19:35:00

This is one of those games that I'd really love to see a post-compo version of. You obviously had many great ideas, too bad the allotted time wasn't enough to fully realize them. And don't get me wrong, I still liked it. :)

Money Tree by vogon101 2015-12-22T21:47:00

Unique idea for the theme but it's well implemented as far as I can tell. I found it really hard to keep track of all the stock prices, so I'd often lost some good opportunities. But I'm not well versed in the stock market anyway. :)

Life of the Party by laaph 2015-12-15T18:39:00

I can't run this because you only have an OS/X build. :/

Bellows by TaylorAnderson 2015-12-15T23:37:00

A bit hard but very well presented. Fun twist on the endless jumper genre.

Poxy vs. the Aliens by Peach Pie Productions 2015-12-18T21:30:00

Really interesting game with a lot of depth. I enjoyed playing it for quite some time.

To the promised land by Dreamwonder 2015-12-15T18:43:00

Your link just goes to a shared folder but if I click on the index.html it just shows the contents instead of rendering the page. I suggest you upload the code to a free web hosting service (there are tons of them to choose from) so people can play this game in their browsers.

Shine Vine by Mr. 2015-12-19T10:26:00

Hah! You and I had the same idea! :) Too bad you didn't have enough time to finish it, it would've been greatly improved by the addition of music and sound effects for example. I really like your art style though.

Lifenodes. by Remicy 2015-12-15T23:50:00

Woah, this is art, not just a game. :) Simple idea very well executed, implementing the theme nicely.
My favorite ending was when he just sits alone in front a computer screen, because that's the one I can identify with the most. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sugar Skull by DrunkenOrc 2015-12-15T18:51:00

It implements both themes quite well but I found the game far too easy after I got the hang of it.

Squirrel Forest by Luminar 2015-12-15T23:28:00

I'm not sure I understand the concept of this one. I planted the trees but after that I couldn't interact with anything.

Vampire Assassin by sathorn 2015-12-15T19:57:00

Awesome, really well made game. The soundtrack, the graphics, the effects - all really well done. Good job!

Panda and Squirrel by merrak 2015-12-22T21:59:00

Fun game, lovely presentation. I think the acorns are a bit too small though.

Up And Down by Jajo 2015-12-15T19:48:00

Glad to hear you were able to learn a lot during this compo, it's one of the main reasons I love it as well. Too bad you couldn't finish the game, but at least now you have a much better shot at it next time.

Can't Jump by x92rwzb 2015-12-16T00:19:00

I liked the idea but I found the game unfairly difficult at first. After I managed to beat the first level by sheer luck the rest was pretty easy though. The game would need a lot of polish - the controls can be improved, as well as the graphics Sound effects and some music would also make it a lot better.

Growing (a Lump) by Ebbasuke 2015-12-23T22:25:00

It's an interesting take on the theme but I found it ultimately too linear and short.

Catalyst by MoreRPG Team 2015-12-16T00:49:00

Interesting idea, a bit like Go or Reversi I guess. At first it was really difficult for me because the blending rules weren't obvious. Also, I don't quite understand the color switching function. Do I just get another random color then? The presentation is pretty nice though, it is a well made game.

Yggshroom by Ghen 2015-12-15T23:07:00

Haha, I think I know the "forbidden" game that it was based on. :) Really nice game though, very well presented, fun, challenging. Nice use of both themes.

RoboCombo by sleepYxy 2015-12-15T22:01:00

Nicely done. Very well presented, polished game. I got 1515 points. :)

Steve can't jump by ubgamerpro 2015-12-22T22:14:00

Played it through the end! For a character who cannot jump, Steve sure spends a lot of time airborne. :) Really simple but well done implementation of the theme. Kinda wished for a bit more variety though.

Snowy Smasher by Reversal Mirror 2015-12-15T22:09:00

Nice game, really fun idea and good-looking graphics. Audio is pretty good as well.

Slaying Runner from Ninjanation by komilll 2015-12-15T21:14:00

Nice, fun little game. I just wish I had more lives so I wouldn't die after one hit.

SpaceGrown -- Grow your own space station! (TM) by bushmango 2015-12-17T22:09:00

Love the idea and it's really well made. I'd love to see an extended post compo version later on.

Ultimate Sky Horse Rider by fxtagn 2015-12-16T00:52:00

Really funny idea and I love the presentation - the sprites look nice and the audio is great as well. I found the game a bit hard though, I die really early. :)

Beatz! by PC Ferreira 2015-12-16T00:09:00

I really enjoyed this one, although I tend to like rhythm games in general. Nice effects, cool tracks. Reminded me of Beat Hazard, which is a great thing. :)

Sentient Sewage by blakeohare 2015-12-15T19:45:00

Woah, really creative, awesome little game! Loved the intro, very surreal and fun idea.

Defend the Earth by PsyonBurst 2015-12-15T19:39:00

Great, really channeling game. Nicely implemented both themes.

Organ-izer by The Merge Conflicts 2015-12-15T23:33:00

Fun game but I found it too hard somehow. Often times it seemed impossible to me to lead all the guys to their destinations.

Beep Beep by FairyBlossom03 2015-12-15T19:10:00

Hey, congrats on finishing your first LD! :) You implemented the themes well and it's kinda fun to run around with the car, however I found the game to be too easy once I mastered the controls. Also, some nice background and sound effects would've greatly improved the experience. But it's perfectly fine as a first game.

Chompatron Saves The World by Tim Ruswick 2015-12-16T00:42:00

This might very well be my favorite entry yet. :) I was giggling like an idiot as soon as the intro started and then I mowed through the game with a stupid grin on my face. Love the over-the-top announcer, the exaggerated effects you cause with every move and all this - admittedly juvenile - humor. Very well presented, delightfully offensive, all around fun.

Wyrm:LD34 by tyr_arcana 2015-12-16T00:30:00

I really like the idea that you get disadvantaged as you grow because the available screen size shrinks. Adds a nice balancing element to the game. Nice art style and some great variation of enemies, too. I was also pleasantly surprised when the game switched to a vertical version just as I was starting to get a bit bored with the vertical shooting. Some sound effects and music would've really improved the game though.

2 Growing Buttons ... by psypol 2015-12-15T19:02:00

I liked the idea and it's a nice twist on the themes. I guess it'd be even more fun a phone with touch controls (I tried the web version, it was working fine for me). It would be much better with some nice backgrounds, more variety in the enemies and music/sound though. Oh, I got about 320 point before I gave up. :)

Feed Me by snowshovelboy 2015-12-22T21:40:00

Hey, you had a pretty similar idea to mine. I liked the grow reversing mechanic, it adds a bit of twist to the gameplay. I found the game a bit too hard though. Also, you should totally win in audio. :)

LD39 — Running out of Power

eDrive by TimBeaudet 2017-07-31T21:01:32Z

The Linux download link (https://www.timbeaudet.com/goods/ludumdare/ld39/edrive_linux.zip) results in a 404 error.

Crazy Squirrels by IgorsGames 2017-07-31T19:58:53Z

Pretty hard game, the rocks usually kill me in no time. :) Liked the soundtrack, it loops nicely. The movement was annoying to me because Chrome brings up the context menu whenever I press the right button so I had to dismiss that all the time. Also, for some reason I thought I should aim in the opposite direction to move, as the animation would seem to suggest that you expel some material for thrust (like in Osmos for example) so that was a bit confusing. But nice effort overall, enjoyed the Curiosity achievement. :)

Modular Destruction Labs by SecondDimension 2017-08-07T18:50:09Z

Loved it!

It felt awesome to be silly with creating the "perfect" robot.

Recoil - Mike Said No Short Titles by Cynical Monkey 2017-08-05T01:13:56Z

Nice, love to see logic games on LD. Cool idea and implementation, but the music got jarring after a while. I really don't like the fact that you can't just restart the current level when you lose, I lost motivation to try to beat my score like this because I don't want to replay all the previous levels. I think you could easily package a bit more polished version of this game for Steam and app stores, it has great potential!

bzzt bzzt by Tymus 2017-08-06T11:05:07Z

It's a nice game for 7 hours, however it felt really hard at the beginning, and hard to play.

The Graphics and Sound are good, and the idea as well, good job!

Mad Maxi Taxi by Thirsty 2017-07-31T21:27:05Z

Like the title, it's fun. The bug when the screen goes white is annoying and it occurred to me all the time so unfortunately I couldn't play much. Couldn't figure out what to do in the game really, I couldn't shoot so I guess I need to find a weapon first? But the other cars were easily destroying me as I was completely defenseless so I didn't get far. The sound effects are too sudden and very loud, I recommend turning the volume down a bit before playing. :)

VoltRush by Reiv 2017-08-07T19:46:28Z

Really nice made little game, the presentation really is excellent. I found it too easy and short though, I was able to reach the end too quickly. It's not always obvious which objects are for decoration and which can be jumped on, sometimes the same looking items can act both ways. Also, a victory screen would've been nice.

Max fps racing by superchihuahua 2017-08-05T01:23:46Z

Nice, making a 3D racing game in such a short time is very ambitious and it turned out pretty well! Loved how you interpreted the theme, I'm sure we can save the planet by burning less watts on our GPUs. :) It was sorely missing some audio, at least some engine noises though. Controls and the car physics are somewhat iffy but that's to be expected as these are very hard to get right even in brand name games. Nice job!

My Kingdom for a Rabbit! by incobalt 2017-07-31T21:17:53Z

Hah, you're literally running out of Power. :) Liked this interpretation of the theme! Music was a bit too quiet as you've mentioned but nicely composed. Cute rabbit-graphics and a funny story. The gameplay is a bit too simplistic and I couldn't really understand the criteria for the bunnies. I selected a couple that were mostly good at every task but got bad results at the end so I'm not sure how that works. Nice effort overall.

Modern Ninja by Lukesta 2017-08-05T00:42:15Z

Wow, I'm actually pretty proud of myself that I could beat all the levels! The last one was giving me a really hard time. :) Liked the concept and it's nicely executed. I especially loved the animation for doing a flip and the main character is very well done. I think he's too small compared to the massive screen size though so it's easy to lose track of him. The dark backgrounds don't help so sometimes I had a really hard time finding him on the screen. Also, it's a bit strange that I carry a weapon yet I can't attack anything. :) While the background track is nice, I didn't think it fit the mood very well, something less upbeat and happy could've worked better to provide some atmosphere. Some more sound effects would've also greatly improved the feel, along with more visual feedback, e.g. flashing the screen when you get hurt. Liked the variety and amount of levels though, nice job for such a short time!

Behind Enemy Lines by tgiant 2017-08-05T02:22:08Z

Nice visuals and sound effects, well done! The game itself was a bit too repetitive too me and kind of tedious having to fly all the way to the beginning of the level to refuel - some more helipads would've helped. It was also frustrating that I blew up even though according to the energy bar I still had some left. Also, the camera likes to lag behind the chopper which means I can't see what's in front of me.

Apprentice by ThiefViolinist 2017-08-06T11:11:47Z

The Graphics are nice, but some sound and more intuitive controls would've made it a much better experience.

Jetpack Miner by digitaldude555 2017-08-05T02:00:21Z

Cute little game, I really like the concept and could easily see an improved version of this becoming a somewhat successful casual game. It is very unforgiving though, it's too easy to run out of your resources and it's very frustrating to die right next to the station. It also doesn't really have that "game feel", by which I mean a lot more visual and audio feedback when something happens in the game, e.g. particles flying out as you mine with some satisfying sound effect when you're done with an asteroid. Also, a parallax scrolling starry background would've made your movement through empty space more obvious. I agree that the background music doesn't really fit the mood, it'd need something much more fast paced to match the gameplay. Nice job on the visuals though!

The Sorcerer's Apprentice by donvermo 2017-08-03T18:52:24Z

Very nicely made graphics, props for that! I was trying to destroy the enemies with my weapon, only to eventually realize that I can't hurt them, which made the projectiles kinda pointless. It seems their only use is to break down the barriers but they didn't impact the gameplay much. Also, I understand what you were trying to do with the theme, too bad you didn't have time to flesh it out more because right now the game doesn't really fit the theme. The loop is nice but a bit too short so it gets old kinda fast. Some basic sound effects would've made it a lot better.

I Have No Spoons And I Must Survive In A Capitalist Society by Jane Dove 2017-07-31T22:10:12Z

Hilarious! :D Amazing title. Unfortunately the game often locked up for me, didn't react to any of the buttons so I couldn't reach the end. Great fun though.

Low-Speed Internet Space Robot Adventure by Toulou 2017-08-02T18:08:15Z

I won! :) Really impressive game for just a couple of hours of work, great concept combining different genres. I didn't like the controls though, I would've liked it much more if I could just hold the cursor keys instead of having to press them repeatedly. Fun story and nicely written though!

Recharged by EX3D0 2017-07-31T20:20:59Z

I unfortunately get an exception when I try to run it under Linux (64 bit Fedora) but I'll try it again on another box.

The error is: `java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: /tmp/libgdxattila/31ce78a2/liblwjgl64.so: libjawt.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory`

Maybe someone knows how to solve this?

Quoala by Goloso Games 2017-07-31T20:10:59Z

Nice interpretation of the theme, clean minimalist but stylish graphics/interface. As mentioned before, a way to fast-forward the dialogue would've been handy, especially when replaying for the alternate endings. Cool sound design, although I think you had the turn signal sound effect even when the car was supposed to go straight. :) Oh, and no need to apologize for your English, it was perfectly fine. :)

Mars 9 by PUARSLIBURF 2017-08-05T01:42:09Z

Brilliant idea on making the health and ammo the same resource, I'd love to explore this more! Also, it fits the theme really nicely. Nice presentation, I especially liked the soundtrack and sound effects. The game is pretty hard though and the limited number of lives make it frustrating, I had to give up beating it because I didn't want to replay the same levels over and over. The way the enemies become invulnerable after a hit should've been explained somehow because I spent too much time trying to hit them in this state, not realizing why I can't destroy them. It's especially a pain point in this game where literally every bullet counts.

Oh no! Democracy! by Tim Eriksen 2017-08-07T13:30:13Z

Awesome idea, great use of the theme! Took me two tries to beat it and even then only just barely, though the strategy becomes kind of obvious if you think about the cards. I love how you literally "run out of power" as the game progresses. Nice pixel graphics and great visual feedback as the crowd rises up against you. Also, really funny descriptions. Some basic sound effects and a background track would've improved the mood though.

A dark time by eduardogrdev 2017-07-31T21:37:34Z

Really nicely presented game, loved the sound design and the graphics. Bit too hard for me, I couldn't get very far. I think there is a bug with the rifle because I was shooting them several times but they wouldn't die. The long wait after each turn is somewhat annoying but it might be better in the desktop version (only tried the web player).

B1NMAN_ROFP by davideperozzi 2017-08-06T11:26:11Z

Amazing game (can't believe it's your first entry), reached wave 6 and was happy to spend hours playing it!

Congratulations on your entry, as about some aspects to improve, the controls could be less sensitive, and audio, everyone loves some sounds!

Congrats again and keep up the great games!

And Here Again by PerduGames 2017-07-31T20:38:11Z

I can definitely relate to the concept, I know how jarring it can be to leave your safe programming zone and face the outside world. :) So it definitely gets good grades for mood, further improved by the soundtrack and overall design. However, I have to agree with the previous commenters about many of the problems with the game. It was too dark to see clearly, the character moves too slowly and the distances are too big so it gets a bit frustrating. I didn't know where to go/what to do either but that's probably by design and fits the theme somewhat. Also, I didn't like that you can't walk diagonally and there were some collision bugs, sometimes I got stuck in doors. So nice idea overall but the execution could've used a bit more work in my opinion.

daemon by bombjack 2017-08-07T19:21:56Z

Really nice entry, although I found it a bit too hard. Couldn't finish it, always ran out of souls. The graphics and background track provided a great atmosphere but some of the sound effects were too cheesy for the game - especially the jump effect. Also, it would be nice to look down before jumping in a hole because right now you have no way of knowing what you're going to hit. Also, I have no idea what the use of the sword is but maybe I just didn't get to a point where it'd be helpful.

Trap in the dark by azziliz 2017-08-05T02:58:34Z

Strange, it doesn't work for me in Chrome.

Here is the stacktrace I get in the console:

``` Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'level' of null at murmures.Renderer.drawTiles (renderer.js:180) at renderer.js:45 at murmures.EventDispatcher.emitEvent (event.js:11) at ld39.js:92 at murmures.EventDispatcher.emitEvent (event.js:11) at input.js:64 ```
Batt(l)ery by Richard Jedlicka 2017-08-06T10:55:41Z
Overall, it's a very nice game, with a pretty unique idea for the theme. The graphics and audio were fun, however maybe the recharging time could be shorter.
Keep it up!
Game Rover by bruins 2017-08-05T01:02:51Z
Good job, really well done game. Liked the retro computer presentation and the sound effects to match. It's nice to have this many levels, felt pretty long for an LD game, however I think they were a bit too easy and slow for my taste. Also, the jumping/falling felt too slow for me, maybe it would be more fun with a bit higher gravity. Great job on the soundtrack as well!
Deep Space Nine Volts by Boxfort 2017-08-02T18:53:54Z
Whew, finally won! :) What a tense game, really great fun. Nice FTL vibes. :) I liked how all of the systems had some real effect on the gameplay, especially the rooms going dark if you lose the aux unit. Some things that could be improved:
- It would be nice to have some sort of indication when I'm in the right position to pick up/insert the batteries. Maybe a bit of glow effect. Right now I had to mess around quite a bit to be close enough and at the right angle, which is not nice in such a fast paced game. - Not sure if I like the controls. I think it could work better with just arrow keys + some other key to interact instead of having to use the mouse. - It's hard to tell how healthy the systems are just by looking at the color of their icons. I would've liked some progress bars more, like what you used for the oxygen/hull integrity. - You don't get notified when the thrusters go down the same way you would for the other systems. That made me forgot about it once or twice. - Once I threw a battery in the walls behind the chargers and then couldn't get it out. :( - If I lost all my crew, then who is talking to me? :)
Nice job overall, one of my favorites so far!
Hungry Harry's Climb by PBG 2017-07-31T21:51:01Z
Fun retro style, nice effects, too. I'm not very good at platformers so I couldn't finish it though, there were places where I couldn't see any way out. I liked the sense of urgency that the mushroom meter brings but maybe it would be more fun with some other obstacles, not just a race against the clock. Great job though!
The Path of Wonder by Enot487 2017-08-06T11:32:28Z
It's really more fun than you would expect, good entry!
I agree with the other comments, the mechanic is great, but some sort of notification could've made it a much better game experience!
Electric Car by eLeDe 2017-07-31T22:23:12Z
Liked the concept, bit similar to what I came up with. :) I couldn't figure out where the finish line is, a map or some sort of indication would have helped but I guess it's part of the experience to have to navigate the maze. A bit of simple car physics would've made it a lot better, like some basic acceleration/breaking and smooth turns because right now it doesn't feel like you're driving a car. Appreciate the effort you put into making a soundtrack as well but the tunes get old pretty fast. :) Not bad game though, keep it up. :)
Tank Empty by JSMCAG 2017-08-07T13:42:20Z
Hah, seems like we had the same idea for the theme! :) Really solid entry, especially for just 6 hours. I liked the simple soundtrack and how all the art assets fit together to give it a consistent theme. I actually liked how unpredictable the other cars are, it really forces you to pay attention and react quickly. :) I would have liked some more challenge though as the game gets repetitive quickly (e.g. the car could speed up gradually as you play). Also, some more types of powerups would've made it more interesting. Sometimes the items would spawn on top of each other which makes it hard or impossible to collect the fuel tanks.
