LD23 — Tiny World

The Tiny, Unknown and Unimportant World by waveon foxdale 2012-04-26T22:33:00

Thanks for the feedback guys. ^^

@Alink: No, the position does not matter.

Great art, sadly not much to the game itself. :/

The Littlest War by poe 2012-05-02T16:48:00

A pretty nice game, though there are a few things that you should look into:

- the "total wars" text in the campaign menu overlaps the description.
- Sometimes the opponent won't make it's turn after the player has made all possible moves, thus "locking" the game at one point.
- What if the player wants to end his turn after summoning a warrior/ranger? The only solution would be to make all possible moves. It's not a big deal for this small game, but it is something to keep in mind.
- The "Total War" campaign crashes randomly. Now you did mention that this campaign is buggy in the Read Me, but it shouldn't be game-breaking nonetheless.
- What does the MOB mean above the player's summons? It seems like a text that shouldn't be there.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

@Per: the full controls (including shooting) are included in the instructions, right under the "controls" button. ;)

Evil Gnome's Revenge by Spelchan 2012-12-27T19:22:00

The main menu doesn't have the best matching colours, especially the buttons; I couldn't read what was written on them.

The game was pretty solid, though it would've been nice if the reindeer were moving on their own too and if Santa actually came on screen when the time ran out.

Not a bad game, it just needs a lot polishing.

Conquer all the castles!! by Ithildin 2012-12-17T13:31:00

It's annoying how easy it is to get stuck, but you knew that already. It seems that it's because the space between two objects are about as big as your character (including white space)? This often seems to be the issue since you would require to go through the space almost pixel perfect.

The minions don't seem to have a great AI too, they sometimes just wander in a random direction and thus make you fight the guard and castle alone. This is noticeable in level 3. It would be nice if they tried to stay close to you, move in the direction of the caste or something in that direction.

Despite my criticism, it's still a nice game that fits the theme well. I would play it more if not for the few levels.

YOU are the villain by Husky 2012-12-17T13:19:00

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but your game doesn't seem to be working.

Web: After pressing W, it shows a guy, a corpse and a door. if you press A or D, you hear a sound. I've tried facerolling and clicking everywhere, but nothing beside those two buttons seem to work.

Windows: After pressing W, you simply get a black screen.

Dig Dastardly by luke161 2012-12-18T21:07:00

I think it's kind of too easy. It seems only one police per robbery will spawn, which means the difficulty will raise slowly. In fact, with your bombs you can just kill them, and thus "lower" the difficulty.

Other than that, it's still a solid and fun game, so you still get a "great job" from me. ;)

789 by rumachine 2012-12-17T13:06:00

The 789 idea is quite original and well made. However, I feel that the controls are a bit awkward even after reading the instructions and the comments.

The current you speak of makes the game more fun and challenging, but since it's hidden and randomized it also makes the controls feel completely random. Randomness is always nice, but this makes you feel like you have little control over your 7. I suggest thinking a bit more about the controls and/or current.

All in all, it's still a nice game that I'd play more after some polishing.

60 Second Bad Boy by Ariake81 2012-12-27T19:04:00

It's a fun game and a nice concept, I can't help but feel it's too hard though. Especially the second screen where the hitbox of the blue balloons seem to be very small.

A really dark game. Good job on this.

Bad Driver! +1 by uncade 2012-12-18T20:56:00

*flips upside down*
*spins crazy through the air*
*text spamming the screen*
Me: "WHAT'S GOING OOOOON?! :D"

Seriously though, it's quite a fun game and concept. It's kind of annoying you flip on your side quite easily. And when you do, you shoot through in the air getting a **** ton of bonuses. While it's fun that this happens, it's not that fun that it happens every ten seconds, so you should tweak it so you don't flip over THAT easy.

Evil Chopper by Per 2012-12-28T15:54:00

I saw little of the theme, but the game itself was still nice. Especially how you can destroy buildings for upgrades is nice.

I think the upgrades get quickly overpowered though. If there were more levels you would have so much upgrades soon that you could just hold the bomb and gun buttons and just walk through the level.

Other than that, it's still a nice game. Props to you.

Bank Robbers by CaptainIcy 2012-12-18T21:12:00

My main complain is that the aiming with the mouse doesn't match the actual aim. Fortunately I got used it soon enough.

Other than that it's a nice game, it could turn into something if you threw a lot polishing into it.

Namcap: Reverse Pacman by caranha 2013-01-06T21:07:00

As pretty much everyone stated, Pacman's AI isn't great and the difficulty remains the same, which makes the game really easy. Other than that, it's a great idea and pretty well made.
