LD22 — Alone

Copy Killer by PerilousPete 2011-12-18T09:56:00

As the description says, you need to pay very close attention to the instructions. But here's a crash course:

The objective is to find the messages, you can see one in one of the screenshots above (small piece of paper). These appear randomly in levels, so even if you go to every level you might not get them all. Just go back and they will appear.

To open the doors, you need to kill all other clones in the level, then kill yourself. If you read the messages it explains why, but basically the doors open when there's only one clone left, it can't be the one you're controlling. Once the doors open, you need to get the remaining clone out the door, so before you die be sure to set it up so that this will happen. Once the clone gets out the door, he arrives in the room next door to the right or left (depending on whether you left from the right or left of the room). You then take control of this clone. Rinse and repeat.

It's a crazy idea to explain, and I had just as much trouble/fun making it, but hopefully this clears it up for you (or at least helps you past the first level :P).

Copy Killer by PerilousPete 2011-12-18T09:59:00

Oh, you may need to do some levels more than once to find all the messages. This is normal. Once you've found all 10, when you finish the level you're on it will take you to the boss level :D

Copy Killer by PerilousPete 2011-12-21T06:26:00

Thanks for the comments guys :D. If you're having trouble on the first level, read the text below the game or the comment above.

As for the bugs, I probably wont be fixing it before voting ends, but I'll definitely look at fixing them after that. If you think it's buggy now, you should have seen the craziness a few hours before I finished it!

LD23 — Tiny World

Dimension Jumpers by Skye 2012-04-25T01:06:00

It reminded me of a game called An Untitled Story (that's not a bad thing ;)).

Empty Space by Hiarc_Games 2012-04-25T00:59:00

It worked fine for me until the dirt stage, where I flew around for ages looking for any sign of dirt, then suddenly a speedy chunk of dirt killed me!
Second time around I managed it, mostly through fluke. It's a shame the game ended there, it was just starting to get good :(

Brainfected by Foxtacy 2012-04-24T23:11:00

Very difficult to play on a touch pad, it's good for a first timer.

PS No, no updates until after judging (rules are here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/rules/ )

The Tiny Green World by Eamon 2012-04-25T07:01:00

Strangely it was missing the bottom when loaded in Opera, but worked well in Chrome for me. A little slow getting started, but just buy the cheaper things and the money will grow quickly (note your money is only topped up once per day), and you will soon be brainwashing those citizens!

CAPSULE [web] by True Valhalla 2012-04-23T08:58:00

Saved the customers and burnt the attendant to death, does that mean I win?

Universal Singularity by kratorspore 2012-04-24T22:09:00

I found the controls pretty difficult, only being able to move up/down/left/right and having them randomly not respond, but I was strangely mesmerised by the dying animation...

Tiny Archaeologist by toaster 2012-04-24T20:57:00

swf works fine, you might want to add a web link to the page so you get more plays ;)

Professor McSteen, and his shrinking machine by PerilousPete 2012-04-23T08:46:00

Wow, thanks for the comments guys!

A few responses (each to the comments in order, may contain spoilers):
1. easy games are boring games :P
2. I very nearly made a mute button (the system is all implemented, I just never tied it to a key...)
3. The little gaps you can only get through once you reach a shrinker
4.Please don't judge the theme until you actually reach a shrinking machine! Instructions were thrown in as an afterthought when people were finding it too hard...
5. I'll give you a hint, you can grab the block under you as you jump, then use it for the next puzzle
6. Made in GameMaker:HTML5, hence the ease of creating a Windows version (which is in the source download)
7. I had that bug while making but thought I'd squished it! It should be pretty infrequent...

Professor McSteen, and his shrinking machine by PerilousPete 2012-04-24T21:33:00

Just as a hint to anyone annoyed about having to restart, if you download the Windows version you can use F5 to save your exact position, and F6 to load your save. There's no notification about it since it wasn't supposed to be in the final version, I just forgot about it :P

Professor McSteen, and his shrinking machine by PerilousPete 2012-04-24T22:33:00

When you first load the game, the options are "Start" and "Help". Click "Help" to get the help page.

Originally I had the controls as the cursor keys and space, but I found it was too difficult and inaccurate to place the blocks, so I switched it to the mouse.

I admit the game gets to the tricky bit too quick, and the game mechanic of shrinking is not close enough to the beginning. When I test it, it takes me less than a minute to reach the first shrinker, I forgot other's wouldn't know how to do the puzzles as well as I did :(. Obviously I can't change it now, that's cheating :P

For those who have had trouble, thought it was too hard, didn't know what to do (or how to), I've uploaded a walkthrough video. It only explains the first part, but it should give you the idea of how to complete the game.

You can view the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGzgJDFV89M

LD25 — You are the Villain

Doggie Destroyer by davidwparker 2012-12-17T09:30:00

Original idea, could have used a bit more development but I like where it's going.

Trying to get by by PerilousPete 2012-12-18T08:54:00

Thanks for the comments, guys! I didn't have much time (only a fraction of the 48 hours) so if I had more time I would have added upgrades/more weapons/more sounds/music/etc.

"I liked the cute animal drawings" - h.attila
Thanks! Drawing is usually my area of downfall.

"This wasn't too bad I found you didn't rename the cow? Cause it's a puppy farm." - ParaPup
Whoops! I'll fix that after voting is over. Thanks for pointing it out :D

Baboom:The Villain by celsyum 2012-12-17T09:27:00

I get the same bug as Meep (in fact I didn't realise this wasn't intentional until now), but I really enjoyed this game D:

LD26 — Minimalism

Recrudescence by PerilousPete 2013-04-30T08:23:00

Haha thanks, I used a random midi generator (found here: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2013/02/19/procedural-music-generator/ ). It's still better than anything I could compose :P

LD27 — 10 Seconds

Cautionary Halt by PerilousPete 2013-08-31T10:15:00

Thanks for the comments guys. I like the idea of being able to speed up time (by, eg, holding space bar) but of course it's too late to make changes now. I might add that in a post compo version, though.

LD32 — An Unconventional Weapon

Gunpowder Engine by ShawnFeatherly 2015-04-20T09:05:00

"The jumping felt a bit too floaty"-sanojian
Everyone always says that about my games. I should probably learn from it...

That's literally the point ;)
